Got halfway through painting a Greyjoy ASOIAF army before realizing I didn't need to during that time as well. Took a break for a while after. After that I tried out nmm on a few WoC minis. I'm a bit tired of painting warriors and I've already got all the cool metal sorcerers I wanted, so I really don't know what else to collect. Maybe I'll get some marauders, or some more knights. Definitely not a dragon, that's for sure. I absolutely cannot keep collecting old metal character models. I already have too many of them painted and I can only ever use four of them at a time. Regiments! Regiments will be the theme for 2025.You'll have to forgive the incomplete picture - I still haven't decided on a design for the banner my tzeentch warriors will be carrying. Warhammer is dead. Any lore you read past 6th (maybe 7th) edition is written before being sanitised by GW. It is written with the aim of promoting the brand and protecting the IP. Long gone are the days when the writers had creative freedom and would world-build drawing on their own personal interests in history, mythology and the esoteric. Modern Warhammer worldbuilding is done by "Warhammer nerds", they use the Warhammer world as their source of inspiration, and, of course, must be polished by GW first to be in line with their marketing goals. It's painful to read modern Warcom articles about WHF ("TOW") lore; it's so painfully detached from the personal creativity that shaped Warhammer and made it the amazing setting that enchanted us all.
