System is Exalted, name is Threnody. She's a crazy priestess of death who tries to persuade people to let their souls be melted into metal to feel eternal bliss instead of dealing with the bad emotions of the world. She has a giant scythe and often disobeys her lord's orders constantly to pursue her wacky religion. Tends to make up quotes and then present them as being genuine religious scriptures.
>>94699730Lady Regalia specialised in deducing fraud, embezzlement and smuggling from the smallest details, but tends to look for such details to the detriment of noticing the obvious. It was this focus on detail that lead her to see the loyalty and intelligence hidden beneath his arrogant behaviour, and comforted her by noticing only minor nitpicks in his paperwork, while blinding her to the extent of his greed, recklessness and xenophilia. Her seeking to keep a close eye on him soon led to flirting, of boldness enough to fluster the 21 year old, which led to glasses of amasec, private librarium rendezvous, and late night dinners and fraternising in the young lord's hot tub. Her superiors approved her response to his proposal before he even made it. And she considered her marriage to be the perfect alignment of her wants and duty. She knew he was married already, to two ladies of good standing, though she hadn't met them. But some polygamy in a husband was frankly a relief after the horror stories of planetary governor degeneracy and orgiastic eccess she'd been regaled with by disgusted sisters. It was only after the honeymoon cruise that her new husbands ship docked with the station of his other wives planet. And only shortly before that had the lighting in his portrait gallery been repaired enough for her to realise that one of the floor to ceiling paintings was a wedding portrait of William with a blue/purple woman and an orange one.Her husbands other wives were a xenos and a psyker abhuman. She kept her calm facades up but quickly she gathered just how deep in xenos dealings her dear husband was, most of which she'd assumed had been exaggeration or a cover was his real business practice, none of which she'd reported to her superiors as she'd confused it for bluster, smoke and mirrors. At this point any crime he was found guilty of would fall on her too, no one would believe she could get this far without being complicit. (2/3)

>>94699143Cool to see these threads are still going. I'll throw my character into the ring if anyone's feeling creative. Titus Julius Vorenus is the eldest son and heir of the Duke of the Peaks, one of the more powerful seats of the realm. He (along with the rest of the party) is on the run after the emperor started a civil war by dissolving the parliament and his regency council, and throwing many members of both into the dungeons (including our father, former head of the regency council). A radical revolution is spreading in the far south, the northern duchy has seceded and rivers of blood wash across the land. The party, ostensibly lead by my character, has made our way to the north where we've formed an alliance to capture the imperial throne (or at least free our father) but have become increasingly sidetracked by ominous supernatural happenings. Fairly classic knight in shining armour sort of archetype, gallant but naive. Struggling to match his desire to be hero with the realities of a bloody civil war. We're playing Pathfinder 1e and he's a Hussar by class. Mostly using the Golden Lion and Primal Fury disciplines. Good with a sword but godly with a lance if he can line up a mounted charge on his trusty steed. Decent charisma and charming enough to be the party face but reliant on the rest of the party for subterfuge and deception. One of the other characters is his half-sister and she's pretty good at handling that.

His clothing, eccentric due to being purchased based on utility and price rather than appearance, is laundered only for the sake of hygiene and his robes often bear ink stains, cuts from tools, or paint spills. When speaking to patrons, for their sake, he will clean up and break out one of his two sets of "good clothing". He is a dark-haired man with a somewhat worn face and unkempt beard- one which is only shaved if it gets in the way of his work. He appears stoic, almost silent most of the time. Lean, perhaps a bit malnourished due to his effort, he has very toned upper body muscles due to his work covering both sculpture and painting, slightly top-heavy. He has a tendency to appear absent-minded or not seeming to listen, due to being focused on imagining and assessing. His hands are rough and bear many cuts from constant hand-washing and work with various mediums, from stone to clay and wood.
>>94701901History:>The fourth and least respected son of a noble house, Rishi was considered little more than an expression of largesse by his family- that could afford to give so many children opportunities. Without the hope to inherit and with more ambitious siblings pushing him out of the way, Rishi honed in on the talent he had and continued to refine it until he was able to sustain himself off patronage. With sculptures, paintings, and other works, his broad range of skills makes him capable of perfoming almost any request and producing an acceptable result.>Beginning every day with a walk to focus and collect any errant ideas he sees from people out and about, Rishi spends time either working on an existing request, mulling over a personal project, or accepting requests from the patrons he currently has available. His family still doesn't respect him, considering him a footnote in their lineage, but he's gotten past caring. He has very low personal standards for food and comfort, and considers buying desserts at all an indulgent luxury. Despite his tight-fisted spending habits, he has plenty of money- he just refuses to spend more than he has to.>Due to his practice and broad abilities, he's often brought on board to consult for building projects, to create small decorations or help paint. He has a general respect for laborers, although his arrogance does get the better of him and he can often get caught up in making a 'perfect' item that the purchaser's gaze will simply move past. He currently works for Threnody's lore, and became interested in her based on her "unique" thinking patterns. Partially convinced of her despite her odd logic, his final ambition is to create a work of art that perfectly expresses himself, after which he intends to hand himself over to death, life goal fulfilled and purpose complete.(I'm not very satisfied with this SD render, but it's close enough).

She can change her appearance at will to take a different humanoid form, but considers her 'natural' form to be the one which she prefers. Her clothing changes at her whim, sometimes in the middle of the day just because it suits her, but usually follows the convention common to local performers or statues of women. Her default outfit is silken, somewhat revealing take on traveler's clothing.
>>94702207(2/2)History:>Enslaved by Dao while she was still a fledgeling, Manaahil's constant attempts to escape caused her masters to bind her into a magical ring, which was sold off to a powerful mortal in exchange for a favor. When her new master found out she was unable to grant wishes, he sold her off again before getting his revenge. Most often, when she came into the service of a new master, they were either disappointed she couldn't grant wishes or became angry when she refused to perform a specific task for them.>Eventually, her ring was acquired by a goliath Vengeance paladin who took her in as an ally and as someone to bounce ideas off of. Neither of them had romantic interest in each other, but their close bond and the paladin's eventual loss was her first bridge into considering relationships as more than just an exchange of goods or a system of oppression and exploitation. After his premature death, she was happy to join the adventuring party that came after him, and ended up joining several different parties, passing between them either on recommendations or when the party retired.>This was the happiest time of her life, learning about the secrets and quirks of everwhere travelers went, experiencing, absorbing, and learning about others and the lands. She had intimate knowledge of several different people's lives, meeting rare races and cultures, seeing both great glories and base embarassments. She was never able to find someone capable of unbinding her, but she didn't mind, as long as the experiences she underwent were unique.
>>94702209(3/3)>Unfortunately for her, one expedition went truly wrong, leaving her at the bottom of a pit. Unable to free herself from the ring, her mind collapsed in on itself. She lived in a fantasy world of her own creation until nearly two generations later, when development in the area revealed her existence to those that were working there. After a temporary bout of insanity, she eventually regained her reason and ability to join in with society. Having once been trapped in the dark, she resolved to once more see the beauty of the world and eventually truly free herself.>While she has some elemental power and access to even wider range of spells than is common to her kind (she can cast disguise self at will, for instance), she has never achieved the coveted ability to grant wishes. She doesn't suffer any inferiority about this, only anger that people keep assuming she's able to do this ("If I asked one of you humans to grant me a wish, should I be shocked when you say no?"). Any ability that doesn't affect herself quickly drains her, and she can only cast three spells that affect others beside herself a day before she must rest- something she is frustrated with, as it limits her abilities.>Manaahil is sealed within a brass ring of Dao make. It is unset with any gems, and has elegant but simple etchings. If she is 'killed' but the ring is not destroyed, she will revive after 24 hours, her spirit secured to the vessel. Manaahil must remain within 120 meters of the ring at all times, but she can instantly retreat into it, such as if she is angry. In a desperate situation, she can cause the ring to violently vibrate, heat, or otherwise strike with elemental power those wearers that disrespect her. Manaahil does not wish to destroy the ring, because she fears doing so will cause her to cease to exist.

Reposting my character, which was >>94428935 >>94429089 , which makes three wives, as far as I understand.Kurda of the Mistcrowns is my current character in a homebrew d100 based game. Basic point is that magic in the early medieval era world is cast via words - as in you know the true meaning of a word and you can cast it, usually only one per mage. While most might words got sealed away by the gods, there is a lot of unusual stuff floating around. Also, the nobility of the setting are all mages. The campaign is set at the big mage academy, where both nobles and commoners learn together.Kurda kinda falls out of both groups, because while he technically belongs to the high nobility, beeing a tribal prince - he hails from the most archaic, backwards and irrelevant province of the entire kingdom, that beeing the mountain clans who apart from believing in the main religion also still have their dragon worship going on, so none of both groups take him that seriously. While beeing a bit more of a intellectual type among his people, most normal people see him as someone quick to defend his honor with a duel, pious to the point of beeing scared of sarcasm and irony and quite the brutal opponent - his word beeing "Bones", which he uses to manipulate his own, to use them as weapons. Also, since I have a bit of time on my hands - is there anyone still in need of wife next on the list? I would also be happy to provide one, since I have a bit of time on my hands again, but I lost the overview a bit over the last thread.

Shortly after building the first cabin, Damon falls ill. His flesh boils like water, he retches up parasites, and Jack does his best to care for the boy, with little success. He worsens with each passing day, and Jack neglects the hunt, hoping to staunch the progress of the illness. It is only when a stranger arrives at their door, soft voice chiming "I'm home~" with undue familiarity, that hope arrives.Dahlia, a wandering-Witch with a specialty in healing wounds, arrives on a trail of omens and visions, guided by her magick to a place where she can be of use. She believes she's meant to be there, and so settles in immediately, tending to Damon until he is well again. What she doesn't foresee is how she ended up staying.Seeing his potential, and wanting the boy as an apprentice, the Witch asks for Jack's firstborn as payment. Jack agrees, amused, but reveals too late that Damon is adopted, and therefore not his firstborn.Dahlia, refusing to appear mistaken, pivots to the logical conclusion and finds him in his bed that night, insisting he make good on his deal. They don't have any children until after the cabin burns down, but they sure try...

>>94704033Artemis on the other hand, arrives after the construction of the Lodge, following legends of a towering beast-man, worshipped by a coven of Witches, who mate with the creature and bear its mutant spawn...Of course, she ends up finding Jack, and the ensuing combat leaves Artemis on the brink of death. Jack, seeing a reflection of his past in a noble-born hunter with delusions of grandeur, brings her back to the Lodge where he and Dahlia tend her wounds. After explaining that some of the stories were a bit exaggerated, they manage to convince Artemis to stay until her legs work again, and though she's wary the sheer normality of this community becalms her, and though she originally intends to leave-- mostly out of disappointment-- she ends up in love. Mostly with Jack, but in part with Dahlia as well since the Witch tended to her often while she was injured. From there, it was not uncommon to find one or more of the women around the house, by Jack's side, or attending the children with their unique forms of mothering. Dahlia gentle and nurturing, Artemis raucous and playful.

>>94708653That would be me.>I'll be honest and inform whoever made that post that I didn't really take the post seriously. Was that a sincere attempt, because it really didn't feel fitting at all. If you don't feel like discussing it further feel free to ignore me.Full disclosure, I was on a bit of a time crunch when I wrote that, and when the idea hit me it kind of materialized all at once, so I wrote it before it ran off. It was also one of the first husbando designs I wrote, so I'm not surprised I already have a few misses. My idea was essentially that it was intended to be a reversal on the sci-fi cliche that the hero meets a hyper-competent but socially inept or "what is love" heroine, often one that inexplicably falls in love with him. He's not actually native to Tempest, but his behavior makes him seem as though he could be.The ideas I was kind of considering were along the lines of>His brutally pragmatic approach is useful to someone who manages a colony and may be restrained by social norms, both as someone who can violate taboos for the greater good and for character development>He's someone who isn't convinced of her faction's worldview by default and thus gives her an opportunity to dig into, refine, and justify it>He can be tapped as an exploration of how romance and interpersonal relationships are handled in the far future, from someone who has no proper concept of themI can try a second pass, but I might have to take quite a bit more time to dig into Lancer. When I write a character, I can only really work with what I can read, so if he doesn't seem compatible with her as an individual, I might need more information on her as a person.
>>94704362(1/6)I don't really know this RPG, but I vaguely know AtLA because I watched the series when I was younger. For this waifu, I'm going to dive into my line of thought, in case I have a repeat of "I don't understand why you designed X in Y way". I'm lazy, though, so I might not do it all the time. If anyone does have a problem with what I design, I can explain why I did it or, if I just braindumped something in the process of creation, say "whoops I'm stupid" and fix it. With inconsistencies, it's probably because I did a partial revision and skimmed over a contradiction.Just to kind of get into why I picked Enneagram as a focus, let me use this character as an example. Ryou seems like a 1w2 based on his description. I know using that kind of shorthand sacrifices nuance, but characters aren't people, so I find it a fast way to dissect the function of a character and what they're intended to do in a story/game. In this case, Ryou's primary concern appears to be being a good person (Type 1). Society vs Integrity is also kind of a concept that Type 8 likes, BUT Ryou's main concern based on my reading is being morally upright rather than worrying about being in control of his own life. I see 1w2 over 1w9 because he has a much more proactive approach to the world, being more focused on people than peace.Based on this, I figure a strongly contrasting waifu would be best, showing him an example, for better or worse, of what he would be like if he complied with his community and family. Her playbook counterpart is probably Successor, because based on the description, it has to do with a family whose reach is broad and at least somewhat sinister. That's narratively helpful to Ryou, who might be a bit short on resources or contacts and stands to risk compromising his ethics a bit in the pursuit of his end goals (favors for favors). My concept was to make her a scion of a powerful farming family whose supplies are vital for wartime conditions.
(2/6)I was originally planning on writing her as a chilly ninja-archetype: Cold, stable, ruthless, and logical, as a pure contrast to the more idealist PC. I eventually decided on the Perky demeanor because the contrast between presentation and actual worldview seems like a good contrast with someone as honest as Ryou, and lets the dynamic switch up from time to time. It also fits in the 'blending in' aspect of real ninjas, trying to be indistinguishable from normal commoners. So she's a pragmatic person who puts on lots of smiles towards outsiders she distrusts, while using concealed, morally dubious means to advance her community's objectives.6 is the Enneagram type associated with Affiliation and Loyalty, where the prime fear is being left alone without support and guidance. It also ties into Ryou's "somewhere to belong". I picked 6w5 because 5's influence (desires competence and knowledge) ties into Creativity and Focus. The former is useful mechanically for her and the latter covers for a major weakness of his. My concept ended up developing into a kind of 'anti-Toph': While Toph is a prodigy who attempts to break away from society's view of her and become independent of her family (8w7), this woman exploits society's view of her to support and cultivate her family's interests, which she strongly identifies with.So we know what she does for him (resources/security). What does he do for her? In other words, why is she interested in him? He's proactive, aggressive, and competent. His Passion allows him to strike outside her comfort zone to get the things she needs/wants. Favors for favors, he is willing to do things she finds too perilous, and while she may have contacts, her family is local and doesn't have pull with everyone. Inter-personally, his Passion might push her to be more genuine. Putting on a front to manipulate outsiders takes a lot of mental bandwidth. His sincerity and honesty is more efficient- what you see is what you get.

>>94709483(5/6)Appearance:>Wovo appears to be a perfectly normal young lady, with a natural deep tan, dark hair kept short for pragmatic purposes, and a lack of makeup due to the location of her home. She wears simple outfits of browns, tans, greens and greys, modest and concealing. She is small and slim even for a woman, possibly stunted, showing some signs that even her prosperous family may have suffered from malnutrition at some point. Wovo has the bearing of a hostess or guide, perpetually polite and deferential to those she speaks to. Despite her outwardly cheerful words, her stilted tone and practiced turns of phrase can make her sound uncanny and even a bit unsettling. While she can be charming, she has a habit of breaking into alarming lines of thought, and her words are tainted with a hint of disdain towards most. For very honored guests, she does put on makeup and hair decorations, wearing a beautiful monochrome black-and-white dress with elaborate stitching details. This is a heritage outfit that, if one looks closely, is slightly too tall for her.>Wovo's smiles and politeness are mostly a facade brought on by trying to disarm outsiders and prevent them from getting aggressive, a tactic her parents are far more more practiced in. At heart, she is generally respectful, but she simply doesn't trust outsiders and can become passive-aggressive or even harshly cold if they push too much. Among those she trusts, she remains polite, but somewhat blunt and calculating, explaining her thoughts more directly or being quiet and deferring to the other person, especially if they are more experienced or older. She hates the war, hates being afraid of outsiders, and hates fighting, but has no skill with peacemaking and is resolved to bear it out until peace once again returns.
>>94709488(6/6)History:>The war has forced Wovo's family, which is a major source of grain and has strong, clan-like connections to the local area, to take increasingly desperate and underhanded measures to stay afloat. A pair of back-to-back failed harvests was paired with a robbery by Fire Nation soldiers, pushing them to become more insular. Believing that the Earth Kingdom was unable to defend them, they resolved to defend themselves first and foremost. For the sake of her family, Wovo took this approach herself, developing not only the essentials of management and the earthbending useful to farmers, but self-defense, infiltration, and guerilla tactics to use against invaders. >Wovo was raised to manage and represent her family to different organizations, groups, and customers, including Earth Kingdom government officials. While she wasn't naturally attuned to this kind of work, she nonetheless deferred to the wishes of her family and became artificially glib in order to conceal her natural discomfort with privileged life. She doesn't consider anyone from the higher strata of society her friends, just her associates, even if they feel differently.>The longer the war continued, the more this 'family network' became self-serving and protective, raising prices because they knew they could and providing sub-par product in order to save the best for themselves. Wovo turned a blind eye, seeing it as necessary evil. Once, she even found herself as part of a group poaching a caravan of supplies belonging to other, further-off farms, under the cover of being a Fire Nation raiding party. Afterwards, she retreated to her own room for some time, feeling truly guilty. She didn't report the crime or return the supplies, but in her mind, her family had crossed a line. Meditating on what she had done, Wovo wonders when her family will return to its peaceful, prosperous state.
>>94709077I think I can see some reasoning behind it now, my apologies for being dismissive.Part of what might have made me disregard your character is that I had already created characters that were part of her squad (I briefly mentioned them before) one of which I "canonically" had as a pre-existing love interest. An outsider filling the role of someone who clashes with her personality, essentially being a lancer to her hero (as in the trope, not as in a lancer mech pilot in-universe, which he obviously also was) was a guy who piloted an aircraft style mech and was your pretty typical ace pilot/top gun pretty boy who oozes confidence and self-assuredness.Anyway since you asked for more details on her as a character I'll try to fill you in, though I summed most of it up in the original post I linked. Some details I might not have mentioned by now is that while she's the colony burgomaster's daughter, she doesn't run things that much herself besides being a capable person as an engineer, mech pilot and mechanic/handyman. Most of the colonists know who she is because she's always working hard to do whatever the colony needs to survive, as well as protecting it in times of crisis, which can be pretty often. Part of her exploration of her character is me trying to learn how to make a character who might grapple with wanting to learn relationships because she doesn't have a full grasp on what makes a woman "girly" like some of the more feminine colonists she's met (being an engineer she mostly hangs out with guys, and she essentially considers herself "one of the boys" because of this.) I've been told that a good way to make her feminine coded without sacrificing her character/tomboyish nature is to make her care deeply about the colony in a sort of nurturing and emotionally protective way, and also possibly care about the health of her mech like keeping it clean and ritually performing maintainaince on it, ECT.Hopefully that helps a little? I can go on.
>>94709681> was a guy who piloted an aircraft style mech and was your pretty typical ace pilot/top gun pretty boy who oozes confidence and self-assuredness.I like this idea. My impulse tells me a 3w2 (Desires to be valuable/loved) or 3w4 (Desires to be valuable/unique) fits a flashy, self-confident fellow who makes socializing her his personal project (both because he's got an interest in her and because prying her away from wrenches is a challenge and he loves challenges). Off the top of my head, I have some Beliefs/Instincts in mind. He would definitely hit on 3, the difference is whether he's more oriented towards interpersonal or performative challenges.Beliefs:>I really am the best at what I do.>People who can't take the pressure have no right to naysay.>If someone's an expert in their field, they should be respected for it.>Nobody will recognize me if I don't take risks.Instincts:(3w2 variant)>I playfully flirt with any woman I meet, even if I'm not serious.>If I see an opportunity to show off, I take it.(3w4 variant)>I never back down from a fair challenge.>Whenever I have spare time, I further hone some of my skills.
>>94709681I should clarify that the pre-existing love interest was not actually the Ace pilot mech guy I described, sorry for structuring it like that, which was a bit confusing. Her "crush" let's say was more of a technically minded shy nerdy guy she crushed on and liked to tease and get emotionally close to, and respected because he easily handled software while she preferred hardware sort of thing. This might be something of a remnant of an idea I had where she hates "hackers" because they're devious and screw with her machine in ways she doesn't like, essentially by being annoying. (The controller/E-warfare type of mech role) I found it ironic and kinda funny that she'd crush on a guy she'd otherwise hate by being exactly the kind of combatant she'd find super annoying and distasteful on the battlefield, but on her team she likes it and thinks he's helpful. That might not be very good reasoning but it's what I had, and I guess that's partially why I was curious about other people coming up with something better. Also to briefly mention the details about the Ace pilot/foil character. I named him Retry (in reference to an underrated gem of a game not many people know about) and had him mostly clash with her in terms of maintainaince and off-battle actions where, being a mechanic and someone with incentives to make all the mech's of her colony run smoothly, she'd try to tinker with his mech and he'd pretty vehemently tell her off because he's particular about how his machine performs, as any pilot would. This is the only real major conflict I had between their characters that I had written before but I figured there was potential for more that could be realized. Him being an outsider was also somewhat filling the role of him not having the expectations of colony life and clashing with her because of it.
>>94709732>>94709735I do like the idea of perhaps changing her love interest to be the ace pilot whom she might take some interest in because of his self-assuredness, as long as he doesn't go overboard into full on pride. Perhaps that's why he calls himself "Retry" because he doesn't get the first shot off every time, and prefers a more pragmatic outlook that still gets the job done, which Sam would appreciate. She definitely wouldn't like him at all if he was all bluster and no substance, and she'd maybe assume that at first until he proved his competency. The nerdy tech guy could instead be the childhood friend and fellow colonist, which would still give the opportunity to have that irony in the relationship. Maybe he crushes on her a little bit out of meek but sincere attraction to her, but she sees him as just a friend. (Oof).
>>94709735Ah, right, let me roll that hacker idea around a bit. Even if Retry doesn't get a full husbandoification, I like the general concept of him too and might write him as a bonus feature for any spacefaring ladies. Still pondering that princes's love interests, so Hackerman might come out after them.Hacker-types usually fall into 5, which aspires to competence and knowledge. (Yes, I will continue to reference types, it's my gimmick in this thread and it helps me hone in on an archetype to expand out from).Interestingly, both of these men are 4-adjacent, which means that they're probably both regularly butting heads (they each think they're right) and working in synch (because they respect each other's uniqueness).5w4 here is basically being a turbo-geek interested in pursuing new knowledge, while 5w6 is steadfast, reliable, and loyal, which seems to fit a childhood friend more.I can't get a total read on Sam, but she seems like a 5 or 6 herself, and if I had to pin her, I'd say she's 5w6. She's pragmatic, focused on day-to-day sustainability, while doesn't really have as strong social skills as she could, she's devoted to protecting her colony and does so through action.I could also write hacker as an 8w9, where I focus on 8's love of control alongside 9's love for stability. Defeating other mechs without risking his own hide seems, like a very 8w9 approach to matters, even if it's not normally viewed that way. 8 also goes to 5 in stress (secretive and fearful) and 2 in growth (caring and open-hearted).>>94709763There's also the classic triangle angle, where flyboy either doesn't stick around or flies too close to the sun, so they can have the tension but not resolve it until all's said and done. The hacker seems more likely to come out in one piece, and frankly, also more likely to commit. I can see Retry deciding to split in pursuit of even higher highs and leave them to it, even if he is the more 'glamorous' interest. Ultimately, it's up to you.
>>94709836> I can't really get a read on SamI might not be expressing all I can about her, that's a bit on me. I should possibly describe some of the things I've written about her. These are stories/ideas that are of dubious "canonicity" that I'd like to think could happen but haven't necessarily in terms of what her story actually is.> I've tossed up the ideas of what the main sources of conflict she faces are.>> Initially wrote what's essentially a full story of her and the squad taking on what's essentially an eldritch abomination that's been hidden on Tempest for who knows how many eons. It might not feel fair to the setting of the harsh jungle world however. I felt there was lots of potential there too, and I even made NPC templates for some creatures found there.>> Pirate invaders is an alternative or addition that offers plenty of opportunities to interact with outsiders of the colony, good and bad. This could be an avenue in which Retry gets involved and joins her squad.>> Another idea was a civil war going on in the colony over resources and leadership. This could be integrated into either or both of the other two/three sources of conflict.> Back to Sam: If Jake (name I came up with for the shy hacker guy, not particularly attached to it if someone comes up with something better) is her crush/love interest she'd pursuit him casually and try to learn about the nuances of intimacy from that. I imagine she'd feel protective of him and want to help him grow, but also enjoy controlling his affection towards her.> Sam would definitely spar with Rety in terms of an actual fight if it came to it, as she's not afraid to get her hands dirty. I also mentioned tinkering with his plane mech (or trying to) and I had a scenario where he tells her off, she casually spits on a component in the engine she had opened up to show she knew exactly what was vulnerable inside it without actually damaging it. That to me is one of her defining character moments.(Cont...?)
>>94709976Part of what might make her hard to read as a character is also that I haven't fully and completely realized her character yet. I intended to play as her further but nothing has come to fruition yet. My initial premise was just "mechanic tomboy from a frontier colony" and I've expanded on the nuances from there, but I haven't committed to much more than I've described already because I intended to flesh it out more as I learned how to grow her as a character by playing as her, or at least that was my hope.Anyway a few small details:> She has a lightning motif if you hadn't noticed yet, implied to be a sort of essence of her home planet infused into her, if only metaphorically. A kind of spunk/spontaneity that is like a refinement of her tomboy demeanor, and a reflection of how life on the harsh jungle planet has changed her.> She respects her dad (who himself was an engineer and mech pilot as well before being appointed burgomaster) and late mother a lot, and wants to earn his approval in the stead of their legacy, or at least what she perceives is.> She kept an eirloom of her mom in the form of a cozy off-shoulder sweater she wears sometimes when she wants to be intimate and vulnerable, a reminder and expression of her desire to try and be feminine/explore womanhood despite her tough tomboy demeanor, and of course a tender memory of her mom.
>>94709681>Part of what might have made me disregard your character is that I had already created characters that were part of her squad (I briefly mentioned them before) one of which I "canonically" had as a pre-existing love interest. What was even the point of asking then?
>>94711413I mentioned my thought process here >>94709735 briefly but to sum it up, I was just curious looking for other people's interpretations as to what they thought would mesh with the character, but the only one I got just felt too outta nowhere for me.I know it seems a bit counterintuitive, but at least now that I have explained a lot more about her/the context around her I have confidence someone could come up with something I didn't.
>>94699667Due to a bureaucratic oversight, the remote detonator on the meltabomb that replaced its automatic timer was a priceless historical relic for which the STC has been lost. So not only does it require regular maintenance by a techpriest, but it also requires lengthy study in an attempt to reverse engineer it without breaking or detonating it. Said techpriest, Ianthe Stochasm, is annoyed at this dead-end assignment and was only briefed that this guy had been pretty profoundly tainted by Chaos, and even though the Inquisition as a whole is really looking for any excuse to execute him, the Mechanicum really really wants that collar back, so she has to figure out how to keep him from slipping further into Chaos worship during her appointments scanning and oiling up the collar. At first she assumes that any sexual advances are just all the Chaos talking, meaning that they actually have to bond in a Platonic way (plus she needs to have her sex parts re-installed if she ever decides she'd like to have some again.)
>>94709077>>94709477I think that the way you're breaking down character traits to construct complementary concepts is very interesting. However, I think that perhaps part of the issue at play here is that you're missing some of the assignment. What you've done is construct characters who would be good to have in tandem with the characters being examined, but the creation of waifus and husbandos is also a matter of wish fulfillment and romance. To find someone who would be a good coupling with someone, and to explore that in a way where this waifu/husbando would already be predisposed to liking the base character, and we as the readers understand the charms those characters exhibit and ways that said waifus/husbandos would behave as a lover. This is to say, while your character construction has real depth, I think that the actual goal isn't necessarily being met.
>>94712218I don’t think that’s necessarily fair. A lot of people ITT fail to provide a good amount of information about their character as a person and just leave it to everyone else to guess what their tastes might be. Using 2-3 posts to describe your character might seem somewhat masterbatory but it removes a lot of the guesswork and assumptions you have to make making a waifu if you provide as much detail as possible. If we want to use Samantha as an example, her initial write-up was fairly generic and included the bare minimum of detail about who she is. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with this, nobody is a mind reader.
>>94713123>Nobody is a mind readerCorrect. Which is why you seem to be self-contradictory, when you also say> A lot of people ITT fail to provide a good amount of information about their character as a person and just leave it to everyone else to guess what their tastes might be.It's notable that a number of the creators are also really open to further discussion and questions when people are unsure or want to know more about what was left unsaid.
>>94713123>>94713184Yeah i can attest to both of these. A lot of people dropped their builds and then maybe a paragraph of two of history. For example with Arthur i dont think i actually described him as a person beyond "Tired and Paranoid" as a personality, most of it was just "Magic isnt real". However OP asked some questions and i dropped basically everything i could possibly think of. Which likely contributed to how long Cindys write up was but GOD was it worth it. There has to be a bit of give and take with this stuff.
>>94713238I think you're most satisfied out of anyone on these threads. I think you and Ordus anon are tied for number of memes though. When I decide on a best girl between I may contribute memes of my own. But Asako was best girl imo for a while but OP stopped dropping Asako content a while back.
>>94713238>>94713123I'll admit I was initially guilty of this too, but part of the reason I was refraining from providing tons of details is that I felt it "wasn't my turn" yet and OP hadn't really asked for more information. That and i wanted to try and be concise and get the points across. I'd have happily provided more info if someone asked me at least, and I guess by now I've hopefully done so adequately. My apologies if I'm doing anything wrong here.
>>94714649There's no wrong way to do it IMO but the details you provide = the level of detail you're likely to receive. Even if they do ask amplifying questions, everyone is going to ask different questions.
>>94714649Same here. I had no indication anyone was even looking at working on mine.
>>94714649>>94716963Yeah, i was kind of the same way. Sure, i put it as much detail as i could fit, but most of it was just waffle that said "He has a bike". >>94713123I don't know about that. I think that you should at least be able to suggest a hook for the romantic entanglement of characters. Otherwise, is it really waifu making?
Is it greedy to hope for a fill from OP even if you've gotten a waifu from another anon?
>>94720623I wonder what's even next on OP's docket as they come and go.I think some Anons have really liked waifus that others crafted for them, but usually those Anons are asked "hey do you mind if I do this one" and then they chat a bit.
>>94720623Whhhaaaattt? No, its perfectly fine im sure. Im sure OP would appreicate it

I remember he kept saying he was going to do Arthur's waifu for ages, until he suddenly said he found a different faceclaim and delivered Cindy as like a detailed seven parter cause she felt right.I mean Asako was the first and even back then she took so long people thought he'd dipped.>>94720787The angry guy should be her mom.
>>94720738Leonen Anon here. I really liked the waifu that was crafted for him by a different Anon. Dramatic and poetic, but also surprisingly fitting. Imagining what his home life with Haera after their falling in love and their ordeals feels very good.
>>94721087Glad to see she was appreciated. I really enjoyed doing her writeup.
>>94720942I thought about it, but considering she helped fund Yukios wedding and from what i gathered from all the jokes was that Mrs Price is ok with the boy. The other idea was just to plaster "Average Odesstannan Male" on his face.

When the time came for Malfi to provide a tithe of Imperial Guardsmen to serve in the violent and endless conflict on Tranch, the young teenager lied about her age to the Militarum recruiters hoping to see the last of Malfi's scav-zones. Hannah took to Guard life poorly, shirking discipline and duty while doing only the bare minimum to stay alive under the watchful eyes of the Commissariat during her brief period of training and service. Her only combat experience in the guard being a brief conflict against a rebel cell on Landunder. With her unit bound for Tranch, Hannah boarded the troop transport Vervilix, where disaster would find the doomed guardsmen.
>>94741373The massacre on Mara leaving an already violent individual with serious mental scars. Deemed unfit for service, Hannah was deposited back onto her homeworld of Malfi and left to pick up the pieces of her life. Refusing to go back to the scav-zones she escaped, Hannah scraped together what money she could, marched into a charter house of the infamous Blood Guild of Malfi, and paid the fee to acquire a grey warrant. Six years later, Hannah Bellasco is a hardened killer and one of the most dangerous of the Malfian Bloodsworn. The revenue gained going largely to improving her arsenal and illicit narcotics as she tried to drown the horrors of Mara from her mind. The Bloodsworn first encountered Father Faustus Cassius trying to claim a blood warrant placed on his head. Her plan to take him amount involved copious amounts of explosives. Whether it was the Emperor or Tzeentch who still had plans for Faustus is one of the great mysteries of life. Regardless, the explosives not only failed to kill the cleric, but grievously injured Hannah herself and trapped her underneath rubble. Unable to leave a pretty young woman for dead, Faust saved Hannah's life. Dragging her to safety and proper medical care. This uncharacteristic act of kindness pushed Hannah's already fragile mind to a breaking point. She was filled with the alien emotion of life twisted in with all the violence and hatred she's ever felt in her life. She decided Faust was now effectively her husband while also vowing to kill him.
>>94741378Hannah has now devoted herself to stalking the cleric wherever he may go throughout the galaxy. Bartering, sneaking, and murdering her way to whatever transport she needs to continue her pursuit. In the rare event she can actually corner the acolytes, Hannah always finds herself unable to follow through with the killing blow on her "husband". Her warped psyche is unable to even allow another to claim the price on his head and free her from this twisted relationship. Hannah spends a great deal of time and resources hunting her fellow bloodsworn should she receive any indication someone is pursuing the blood warrant on Faust. Though the great distance from Calixis and the mountain of assassins turning up dead have regulated Faust's warrant to a grey warrant only the most desperate would even attempt to pursue. To say Hannah Bellasco has a twisted perception of love would be the understatement of the millenium. She truly believes she is Faust's "wife" and views every enemy of his dead as the ultimate expression of love. Her extreme jealousy combined with Faust's womanizing drives her already conflicted feelings into a crescendo that is bound to end in violence. She is ultimately unable to separate hate from love when she evaluates her feelings on Faust. Her muddled memories and perceptions of the day he saved her only adding to fuel to an already dangerous Promethium fire.
>>94741388Hannah Bellasco is a tiny and lean woman of 23. Standing 158cm tall and weighing a mere 51kg, she doesn't resemble a hardened killer. Something she uses to its full advantage when hunting targets. Hannah has fair skin and green eyes covered by a cut of ash-grey hair. She has adorned herself in piercings which she changes frequently according to her whims. Her clothes are functional and serve mostly to blend in with whatever locale she finds herself in while concealing as much of her arsenal as can be safely hidden. She prefers to operate under fake names and covers her tracks well, using the various skills she's accumulated from her violent youth, time in the guard, and experience as a Bloodsworn. While unquestionably mad, Hannah is able to present a veneer of normalcy only the most perceptive would be capable of seeing through.
>>94741422One last image.I hope you like her even if she is well outside of what's typically posted here.I'll get to work on Faust's next wife who is more of a normal human instead of an insane murderer. You can probably expect her tomorrow or the day after.
I just realized I missed an entire block of text even if it is 90% actual FFG background fluffShould go between>>94741373>>94741378The Verviliax suffered a critical navigational error and dropped out of the warp close to the ice world of Mara and within the cursed world’s quarantine zone. Mara is a wretched place, a cold world once home to a penal colony now long silent. No one goes to Mara; the space around it is quarantined, the Imperial Navy mounting infrequent patrols to keep any from straying too close. However, such accursed places seem to draw in the unwary and the unfortunate. Disaster might have been averted had the ship’s engines and communications not failed and left it drifting alone and lost above one of the most dangerous places in the Calixis Sector. Not knowing where they were but detecting structures on the surface, the officers commanding the 100,000 troops on board decided to mount a landing onto the surface in an attempt to gather information on their position and press aid from any that might live on the ice world. This decision was to cost the lives of over 50,000 men. Soon after the landing, all communication with the surface was lost. First-person reports from breathless dropship pilots told how the troops deployed to the surface had begun to slaughter each other, and discordant sounds began to rip through the communications networks---alongside cries imploring someone to “make the buzzing stop.” Not knowing how to respond, the officers poured more troops onto the surface of Mara until most of the soldiers had been deployed. When the Imperial Navy patrol ships reached the Vervilix five days later, only a few hundred gaunt and haunted individuals survived and could be recovered from the thousands who had set foot on Mara. Hannah was one of these precious few.

At his core, Faust is a good person who ultimately puts saving someone, with a pretty face or otherwise, above his own safety so him saving Hannah would be absolutely in character. The fact hes our groups nonpsyker medic works out even better. He'd most likely attribute their constant meetings as a test by The Emperor, and by the 8th or 9th time start trying to actively recruit her into the acolytes, much to their chagrin. He would start becoming very concerned if those he slept with or favored started turning up dead though, and would most likely keep a bullet set aside for her though if things got too hot...I honestly love how different she is too, and how twisted she is fits the world. When they don't provide enough information, or even if they do, you ask them probing questions to sort of get a feel for what it is they're thinking, what they actually need, etc. Nothing hurts more than giving a presentation on what you did only for it to just totally not land because there was a lack of accurate assessment and communication.

Careful to save the woman and avoid innocent deaths, he placed a precision shot between the colonel's eyes. Putting the alien collaborator down like a maddened dog and saving the woman. Immediately taken with the woman, they fell in love and ultimately he took her off the starved world of Argoth back to Extas.Ultimately, his homeworld was overrun and consumed by Hive Fleet Dagon, forcing Buck and his now pregnant wife into a vagabond lifestyle. Though life was hard, they were happy together. Once his wife gave birth, Buck felt like a changed man and considered settling down and leaving bounty hunting behind. This happiness could not last forever though, the cruel hand of fate ultimately struck. The vengeful son of the Colonel sought out Buck to avenge his father's death. While he failed to kill Buck himself, he took the life of his beloved first wife. The event traumatized Buck. No longer could he stand to look at his daughter who reminded him too much of his wife. He left his young daughter with his definitely insane ex-bounty hunting partner, lying to himself that it was better for her safety, unable to accept the real reason. Buck left his only remaining flesh and blood and fucked off to go make money elsewhere.>I'm retarded there needs to be one more post to fit it all.[2/3]
>>94742674>>94742683Where once he was careful to avoid innocent suffering, After the death of his wife, Buck now cares little about collateral damage, whether it happens to be civilians or even the ship's own armsmen. As such, Buck will use a melta-gun against anything he can, firing it almost exclusively at infantry targets, an unkillable chaos abomination, and exactly one chimera.Buck is a heavy tobacco user, rarely seen without a lho-stick or a massive lip of chewing tobacco.Despite his high ballistic skill, Buck is cursed with a nightmarishly bad string of luck and can successfully roll a 90 no matter how high his odds are to hit a target. While he considers getting back into the dating scene frequently, he is haunted by his wife's death and troubled by memories of his daughter.>pic related[3/3]
>>94741883How does Faust feel about open relationships? Does he care if a woman has similar attitudes towards sex or does he want them to be devoted?
>>94742423Not bad for a quick hackjob. I had to look closely to spot where the finger had been.
>>94742932If its just casual sex he's fine with them being open, but in a way he's hoping for someone to make him WANT to be devoted. He's not hopeful, and he thoroughly likes tomcatting around which is why he's not trying. Hes met, slept with, and killed hundreds of interesting people, but no ones lit that spark in him so to speak. But in a direct answer; he wants someone loyal and devoted, but willing to call him on his bullshit
>>94742691Im sorry, but that image is fucking killing me, holy shit.
>>94719747Well. I'm definitely gonna use this.
I wonder how OP is doing. I hope he's just busy and not getting fucked by his computer again.
>>94709477You definitely did your homework about the system. I'm kind of surprised by how you actually bothered to do all of the mechanics given your self-admitted lack of familiarity, but it's all there. Wovo (name origin?) is a fully fleshed out character who would be playable at the table, and who has complimentary traits and explanations for how she and Ryou fit together, in terms of roles. That being said, I'm not entirely sure what the romantic link between them is intended to be by reading all of this.
>>94753799Finally back. No excuse, fell into bad habits and shit sleep schedule. Had an epiphany yesterday and I'm getting my shit back together.
>>94762798Fuck, we've all been there. I just stopped myself as I was starting to slip recently.
>>94758027Hm. Maybe this format works better.(1/2)"Welcome to our home. We pride ourselves on offering the best in hospitality, so feel free to ask, and we will provide as well as we can.""Of course you're welcome here. You're a hero, aren't you? You risk a lot fighting against the invaders to protect us.""Don't worry about the expense- we are the source of food, after all. All we ask in return is that you keep doing what you're doing.""Besides, my family could be a good source of enthusiastic recruits. Unlike me, they're perfectly eager to chase off the intruders.""...That armband of yours? Don't worry about it. I'll keep your secret... That is, as long as you keep protecting us.""No need to get hostile. I'm simply... Reminding you of your proper priorities. That's all.""I'd like to ask you to do me a favor, actually. My family has an issue, but we'd rather not get involved, if possible. You seem like a helpful, handsome young man."---"I appreciate the help, but I'm doing this for my family, not for whatever cause you're hiding behind.""I don't give an account to you. You've got no right to know what I'm doing, or why.""You don't appreciate what's at stake here. Your world is small enough that you have nothing to lose fighting for your ideals.""Wanna thank me for the save there, or are we gonna mouth off again?""...Debt paid. Thank you.""I just don't get how you can risk your life like that over and over again. Isn't there SOMEONE in your life that's afraid you're not going to come home?""Incorrigable idealist. You're going to be the death of us all.""At least you're less trouble than you're worth."---(In public) "Welcome, valued guest. Your presence here is... Unexpected."(In secret) "What are you doing here? Don't you have some maiden to rescue?""It doesn't MATTER what *I* want. Wasn't that clear?"(to Fire Nation officer) "...No, sir. The deal is off. We're not going to let you do as you like." (To Ryou) "*We*, yes?"
>>94762905(2/2)"On your left- Er, not any more. Earthbending has its perks.""Maiden needing rescue here! Any moment now!""The fact that that worked terrifies me."*Sighs* "You really are worth a whole lot of trouble, aren't you?""Now you really WILL have to protect us, or otherwise this whole region will lose its biggest grain producer.""As always, you can rely on our hospitality. Just don't go and get yourself killed: We need you for later.""No, I didn't bury anyone alive." (Quietly) "Pretty good at that."---"...It's been so long since I last spoke from my heart, so please listen. This isn't a joke."Despite my practice speaking like a noblewoman, I-I'm a country lizard-mouse at heart and don't do much courting. I don't know how to speak with men... As men. So what I'm about to say might come out a bit jumbled, that's all.""In my culture, family is everything. If someone is family, you can trust them, and if you can trust someone, they're family.""So, since you-you're family, I wanted to extend an offer to you. It expires if you decide to leave, but frankly, I'd rather you stay.""I understand if the answer is no. I'm a relatively plain woman, and you've probably seen lots of opportunities. Besides, you're someone who has something to fight for, and staying here... Could get in the way of that.""W-What I'm trying to say is that, if you knock on my door tonight, I'll give you the best hospitality I can. I have no experience, but I'm assuming most of it comes naturally. Please be patient with me. From there, it'll be easy to arrange something more permanent. But I'm not intending this to be once-and-only kind of arrangement. If you take my offer and then leave unbidden, I won't forgive you, and neither will the rest of my kin."

>>94709481>Fighting Style:>Earthbending (+ Weapons/Martial Arts)Minor inconsistency here. Earthbending and Weapons are Trainings (along with Firebending, Waterbending, Airbending, and Technology.) Fighting Style refers to what the fighting actually looks like. A short description that acts as the fluff of how a character generally goes about fighting. Some example Fighting Styles on premade characters with these Trainings are:>Hand-to-hand with throws, dodges, and counters>A pair of tonfa made to look like dragons>A long staff with weighted baskets on either end>Kicks and stomps to create shockwaves anderuptions of earth>Shifting earth to subtly create hills and holes>Controlling a string of smooth stone sphere beads
