Fights are harder to write than I thought! I tried letting everyone have a moment, but if anyone involved has a complaint or suggestion, let me know and I'll try to revise it when I get home from work tomorrow. The ending is left purposefully vague - if anyone wants to claim responsibility, feel free to write a home invasion writefag. If no one wants to get shot, I'll probably have it be an NPC Enforcer or something. No idea what I'll work on next - maybe some more dream stuff? A slice of life piece, or nonhostile meeting with another pair? Suggestions would be appreciated.

For one, having a humanoid circulatory system with his body plan makes oxygen deprivation a joke, with him being able to sneak around in the most cramped and ill-ventilated places with ease. His incisors have been trained to chew through nearly anything, save several-inch thick metal plating and quirk-enhanced materials. He can also burrow just as easily as walking, though the potential infrastructural damage he can cause mostly just leads to him sneaking around more conventionally. The downsides? He’s a 3.5ft tall version of quite possibly the ugliest thing on earth. As well-groomed as he is, he’s still not exactly a handsome fella to say the very least. His eyes are also extremely sensitive to light, to the point where he has to wear almost pitch black contact lenses to not blind himself during the day.

Once (or if) the staff/students start actually giving him positive input for once he’ll soften up immediately.>Chosen Subject: EconomicsObviously there’s the benefit of teaching young heroes how to file taxes and whatnot, butdue to the nature of his work, Michelson has a vast understanding of all the damage that can be caused to infrastructure, finances, and the community with but the simplest of actions. He wishes to impart this wisdom to his students, and due to his lack of need for much oxygen, it's gonna be in VERY long-winded lectures (his record is 7 straight minutes of speaking without taking a single breath). He also wishes to impart not only how serious damage to infrastructure can be for the opposing side as well, what to target to cause the most damage to a villain’s hideout or plans in a raid or other such situation. >Writefaghttps://rentry.co/h4xfatq5If there’s any contradictions to established lore (or if you have any criticisms in general), please let me know.

>>94701758That's the problem then, isn't it? It sounds like you've wanked yourself too hard and given too many buffs to your character. In general I think an Awakening can be simulated by the use of the Versatile Quirk option or changing powersets entirely to a less restricted build. In the specific case of Orochi, there might be something you could do with a conditional Refinement on natural weapon if you cut the gadget as a sometimes-available narrative option instead of a core replenishable mechanic. That gives you 2 XP which you use to pay for 2 QP and Refine.

>>94701824I'm not Orochi-Anon and he earned the Awakening imo. 2xp is a very minuscule xp gain if it's supposed to represent improvements over two years worth of writefagging. It's basically one skill, and if people are supposed to pay for stuff like internships then it's barely even that.
>>94701850I hear you, it's not an impressive exchange, but I don't think anyone's requiring anybody to pay for the internships that already happened and finished. Also the skills in the CYOA generally represent years of effort for each rank. 2 xp is a piddling number but it seems to have a high spending value. I stand by my general statement but I apologize for misdirecting the comment.
would anyone be asshurt if I gave my support student build a provisional license as well (using the updated MHA CYOA as it feels appropriate as I have not made a build for this CYOA before)?
>>94701958I don't quite get the logic behind that. That's a provisional Hero License. If they're not in a hero course, why would they get or need one?
>>94701966Power Loader is both the support class teacher and has a pro-hero license. Assuming he had to go through the same process of becoming a Hero as his peers, he also had a provisional license at one point.
>>94701976An adult could have the time to get multiple degrees/qualifications. You also can have someone like Hiro, who's in the Hero course, but also does projects that'd count for a supporter. Theoretically, you could say there was a Hero/Support course, but I feel like the cyoa doesn't support that very well, because of the separate budgets, modifiers, discounts and so on.
>>94701258Ended up staying up to read this. complaints about Giulietta. Love how the tension starts to ramp up as they fail to permanently put her down and Hassan/William being generally confused about what she's even trying to accomplish. The scene with Giulietta and William realizing what's up with the other was a highlight for me, but favorite parts are the scenes between Commodus and Hassan. How much they hate the matchup comes though great. With how she is, Giulietta won't be as upset about how things went as should. She lost a bunch of the blood she'd just been able stock up on and her Servant got beat up, but she'll be more interested in seeing of William and his weird circuits than taking vengeance.
>>94701987If time is the only drawback then there isn't really anything stopping a support student from obtaining a license outside of having the necessary teachers sign off on it. The provisional license exam happens at the beginning of the semester so there isn't much work to take up a support student's time anyhow.
>>94701140As someone who is only vaguely aware of our local MHA canon, have we had any hacker style characters? >>94702169We had robotics, but I don't remember any hackers specifically. I did plan to use one in my writefag, but that'd just be a single use NPC.
>>94702195Makes sense, I was considering a freshman as an easy jump-in point and the idea of a technopath called to me. Considering some kind of overly curious/reckless/positive young hacker type who streams a bunch of things they maybe shouldn't about themselves and other students to an online audience for clout. The only real difficulty is the Quirk as there's a bunch of ways that could go, from having a computer brain via Body Enhancement to Telepathy but keyed for machines. >>94702250oh damn welcome back broi dont think we have a plot recap up to date, though there's been talk of updating itthere hasn't been much activity for the night parade as a whole. Hifumi fought Tomi, and Ian (new student) had a little scuffle against Greenfinger. And Sandatsu brought Majestic's arm and eye to Midas as a gift
>>94702254Neat. At risk of sounding stupid, is there anything I should avoid and/or do if I'm planning on being active? I've seen plenty of memes about certain classes being useless or relegated for NPCs etc. but I'm not sure which are true, which are soft advice and which are just shitposts. On that note I guess technically all the hero students in the local canon are graduating to the next year so there's theoretically a completely new slot for the next wave of freshmen, right?
>>94702346For those classes, 1-E was where the initial dumped builds were transferred, and then the rest of the class was filled with literal NPCs by Toybox anon. 1-F was a joke class made with characters whose powers were like: being a floating metal cube, smelling really bad, and eating dirt. Their classroom was set in a one of the toilets. So based on those, being active and not a gag is enough beyond the usual MP common sense. Most of the hero students in the local canon aren't graduating yet, just moving up a year (no one got held back as far as I know), so there is space for a new wave of freshmen, but you'll have more senpais you can interact with (but you don't have to if you don't want to).
>>94702279Thanks for the Night Parade recap, looks like I don't have too much to catch up on there. >and Sandatsu brought Majestic's arm and eye to Midas as a giftI remember having plans for involving Midas with Sandatsu, I'll have to read up on his stuff. I like that theme. The Red Hat persona makes me think that maybe he's a material for Advanced Delinquency/White-collar, unless he plays up his breaches a lot, or has already been captured and is another one in the line of Shiketsu's tenured rehabilitation program. Also, unless it's that rehabilitation program, he'd likely get another Hero Name separate from that hacker persona. Likely not right away, but early into the program, so it might be best to think about it already.Writing a character who's extremely smart can get difficult, but you have that emotional immaturity and arrogance combined with that Overheat Definement, so even with the Passive method, him doing something dumb and making mistakes sounds in character.PS: Just to make sure, but I hope you plan to use a character image that's not a meme.
>>94702765The gadget is technically twofold, the first is it's just a cooling suit that smartly cools him down in response to his overheating, the second is to have an array of radio, wireless etc. communicators so he has access to the local net with better connectivity than a mobile would have. If that's too multifunctional I can drop the latter and just say he uses his phone.>>94702772Thanks, the idea is his Red Hat persona is way less important than he actually thinks it is and has an inflated sense of his accomplishments, he's not Neo, but he wishes he was. I don't necessarily think anyone knows enough for him to be in the rehab program yet.The idea of his intelligence is less meant to be Sherlock 'making the correct decisions,' and more being a dumbass teenager who's talented at most technical and academic matters with a computer in his brain. Also yes, I don't have an image yet, still looking for something that fits the vibe.

>>94701259I'm too much of a Fraud to name my build.
>>94702772>>94702896There is actually a potential image/Hero costume for him that covers his gadget and fits him aesthetically, but the imagery is so monumentally entrenched in the current brainrot that I don't know if it'd work. The fact that it seems like a teenager's idea of what looks cool but isn't really is perfect for his character too, like he's trying a little too hard to be quirky and stand out. Anyone got any better ideas?
>>94703205
>>94703220Something like this in an MHA-adjacent style would also be kino, yeah. The problem is every anime-style hacker is either Tron or Cyberpunk 2020/77 and none of them quite vibe with the rest of the characters' style, it's not whimsical or exaggerated enough.
>>94703229When I googled for anime hackers, it found me some Digimon dude named Keisuke Amasawa. Maybe he could work?
>>94702829>If that's too multifunctional I can drop the latter and just say he uses his phone. The overheating grants you 1 point and the gadget costs one, right? If the gadget mitigates the issue completely and then gives you an extra benefit for that super radio etc, then that sounds a bit cheesy, since it's basically that super radio for free. If helps a bit, but has like a limited duration, or there will be scenes where he's out of it and overheats, or it has some other drawbacks (for example, is clunky so he can't move that well in it, or is loud so he can't use it while trying to stay stealthy, or is like a heat vent and he needs to stay still for a moment to get cooled down), then I think getting something extra on top is fair.
>>94703274It'll have to do for now, thanks anon.>>94703306I was using the newer version (mostly for the extra xp for students and reduced Quirk points, Computer isn't that expensive) where the Quirk Gadget costs 2 points but I've also realized that it might be more interesting if he doesn't have an answer to Overheat yet, possibly do some moving around and grab Tinker to make him more of a tech-genius and less competent at the things he's supposed to be bad at like planning and not letting his hothead get in the way.
>>94703335Ah right. I mixed it up with Gadget: Weapon which costs 1. BTW, Genius can be field specific so you could probably make him Computer Science Genius or something like that if you wanted.

>>94702496>>94702511Karma has been running diplomacy between the two groups I think is worth mentioning.
>>94703356I think that comes from Tinker, Computer and Hacker and I like the idea that he's generally intelligent in a raw IQ fashion but emotionally enough of a mess to act stupid regardless. He excels in structured environments like academia where he knows what to do but the moment he's left to his own devices he fucks everything up by being an arrogant unstable chuuni teen that thinks he's the centre of the world.Though to be clear on that earlier point he is absolutely overly social and desperate for attention, as cool as the 'cold, collected introverted genius,' vibe is for villains I think him being a bit of an outgoing self-important goofball would do the character a few favours storywise.>>94703359Looking much better anon, thanks a bunch.

>>94703986>BackgroundAn orphan from the UK, she realized that if she didn't try and change her lot, then she'd end up in prison or worse. With that, she applied to as many Hero Schools and Courses as she could, and ended up by fortune or fate at Shiketsu. She's completed her first year with middling academic grades, but high heroics grades, moving up to a Sophomore.>Main Change: Martial ArtsWhile she has only started to learn how to fight beyond throwing haymakers, being schooled at Shiketsu then doing work experience with Saurus, has given her a comparatively massive amount of experience relative to the amount of time she's been training. Compared to someone who does 3-4 hours a week of training, she has racked up multiple times that amount in this year, placing her at around this level of technical skill.Quirk Compulsion: BattleKaylee has a fundamental drive for battle, even if she doesn't realize it. It starts as restless leg syndrome and a nagging in her mind, but without release it can escalate beyond control. When she is fighting someone weaker than her it is largely unnoticeable, but when pushed into a corner she will become more rash and reckless, getting worse the harder she has to fight for survival. She has gotten more control over this, thanks to the training of Shiketsu and Saurus, as well as properly getting her ass kicked multiple times.Quirk Refinement: RecoveryWhen Kaylee recovers from an injury, her body will typically reach a greater level of strength, like a muscle getting stronger after it experiences tears and fatigue. This can scale with the damage received, but has diminishing returns after a point, and does nothing to help a permanent injury, like losing a body part.Cosmetic Mutation: BigKaylee is ridiculously tall, especially for a girl. She stands at a ludicrous 220 centimeters, having continued to grow over the course of the year, and is self conscious about it, though less so now.

Did Himeko simply get bored of her retirement, or did she want to pass something on to the next generation in her final years? Perhaps it's a bit of both. Whatever the case, she leveraged her seniority and achievements to bulldoze her way into being a homeroom teacher for the new freshman class.Himeko is a very direct and unconventional teacher, with little respect for the schools rules. Unlike most teachers, she loves taking in the troublemakers and outcasts. In particular, her favorites are the ones brash enough to argue back and butt heads with her. As a show of affection, she's certain to increase the difficulty of their lessons- after all, overcoming difficult trials is the key to growing stronger. She's less concerned with good grades (a firm believer that Cs get degrees), and more concerned with practical training, believing that hands on experience is far more valuable than mountains of textbooks and lectures. Students can expect frequent field trips, often funded by herself.
>>94704250Himeko has the calm and confidence that comes with age, but is also a very thick skinned person with no regard or tact. For example, if she pairs up students for a training exercise, she'll directly admit the pairings were made for her own entertainment, rather than being fair or random. She'll even say so when she had actual practical reasons for the pairings. When it comes to her students, she truly wants to see them grow stronger."Alright, kids. Granny here gets a bonus if you come out on top in the upcoming inter-class competition. But Granny doesn't need it... So... If we win, I'm using the bonus to throw a party for you. Pizza, pricy Sushi, you name it, I'll buy it... I want to see you work your little butts off and get rewarded for it. Also I want to brag to the other staff about how amazing my students are."She has a major soft spot for her granddaughter, and as a result Himeko is likely to be even stricter with her, believing that any less would be looking down on her. Himeko can quite clearly see her granddaughter's wish to surpass her and is happy to support it. Being surpassed would make them both quite happy after all... She's also shameless enough to shill a little on her granddaughter's behalf."Oh, yes, that's right. Boys, you didn't hear this from me, but this whole eternal youth thing isn't unique to me. Amahagane kids are often born with it, although it doesn't really show until around their 30s (so no one knows if they have it until then). Why until my 70s I still looked like I was 25! The men who take Amahagane wives are certainly a source of envy for others..." ... "...Hm? What do you mean 'stop talking', dearie? I'm helping, aren't I? >>94705118>OrochiOrochi used to have a boxing style which involved her hydras acting as extensions of herself/additional arms, and included dance moves in her fighting style. She also fought deliberately to poison her enemies slowly by using her poisonous physiology (she is a walking biohazard that produces poison all through her body). She has a hydra quirk, which gives her the previously mentioned poisonous physiology, as well as venom glands in her mouth, and hydras she has on her waist as if they were tails. Her main focus was on endurance fights by abusing her regeneration. After awakening her quirk suffered some changes. Her regeneration became extremely fast, and her endurance went out of the charts. She can now grow scales, control their shape, or make them travel to other parts of her body by directing their growth. Those scales can be razor sharp, and are very durable. Her metabolism is so fast that her body is extremely hot, and can combust in the right conditions. Her fighting style now is more deliberate. She can fight like her old self, or go to maul/maim her foe to neutralize them from the fight. In extreme cases, she can go for the kill against foes such as Sandatsu (TL;DR: Le Big Bad)
>>94705145NTA, but I'm guessing the descriptions are the way you describe them, but the reality is you get +5 to a check.
>>94705046It's not that being level 90 unlocks a second SAC. You can only take SACs starting at level 90, and you can get up to two because the level cap is 100 and they're 5 levels each. Think of them like classes that have "Level 90+" in the requirements list.
>>94705145NTA but it's probably because we're just dealing with tweaking the original system which is pretty linear. 10 is 100%, 20 is 200%, so on and so forth. Unless being twice as strong as a normal person allows you to cut through steel, I'm not an expert. Making it scale on level instead of average person just helps making stat changes more impactful while also making sure it's not so extreme as to make someone with 40 a god right off the bat.
>>94705061>A World Class item as our cash shop item? That's pretty nuts. You'll probably get hunted like a dog for it (and reminder, no default respawns since we are natives), but we don't have a rule stating that you can't take one.
Im taking a leaf for a SAC, and a Divine Class Weapon
>>94705218But just why? I thought buying items meant like, a piece of armor and weapon with a data crystal or two. Not a treasure that every kingdom would fight you for. Someone having a World Class item means they could easily solo not just the MP but also pretty much anyone in the New World who doesn't have one since you need a World Class item for World protection.
>>94705230Dunno, but that's how anon specified it:>So if someone wants a OP item then its their own personal artifact they really worked for and is rare as fuck at this level.Whether you easily solo depends on how you design that item, but there are class custom abilities outside of it that you could wank to hell and back if you wanted, so we need to balance it outside of it anyway.
>>94705118I haven't quite figured it out yet but the idea I had was Reiji is selling his Quirk to the school by telling them that he'd be REALLY good at micromanaging robots during emergencies for rescue and combat and imagines himself essentially nuking villains from orbit with armed drones but he has neither the money, privilege or goodwill from the school to get funding for a personal drone army, funny how that works.Until then he's got an above average grasp of trickery, strategy and using compromised infrastructure to his advantage but gets swept in any real fight, he's not exactly terrible at fighting considering how the cyoa works but neither has the skills nor Quirk to do anything more than put up a mediocre fistfight.
>>94705265>he has neither the money, privilege or goodwill from the school to get funding for a personal drone armyHe's going to be so fucking envious of Chris.
>>94705256That's just an another issue altogether with taking SAC's at level 30, which I also think we shouldn't be doing at the literal beginning of our journey. Also, I interpreted that as like a High/Top Class at its most extreme level, because a WCI is not a personal artifact and isn't rare as fuck at level 30, it's a legendary artifact which is rare as fuck at all levels.
>>94705276The issue with High/Top Class is that then you'd need to use the other item for data crystal to fill it, no?But overall, I agree with you. Taking Leaf would be soulless, but because of the data crystal issue, I was looking more at the Divine Item + Shooting Star, and making those key to how the character reached the Hero status.
>>94705275Mirror Devil? I'm not familiar enough yet but if someone has a drone army he'd be supportive on the outside because obviously it'd prove to the faculty that it's viable and he should get funding now. Inside? Absolutely apocalyptically seething.
>>94705305Chris is dating Faith Kang HN "Drone", who's rich, popular on social media, skilled with tech, and has a Quirk that lets her create armies of robotic servitors out of metal with a touch. Basically everything Reiji could want.
>>94705305ctrl f "Drone"that's his gf
>>94705118Smokin' Sexy has a free flowing sword style, and unlike his kendo contemporaries, uses punches, kicks, grapples and sweeps in combination with his incredible reflexes and swordplay to crack open weak spots and incapacitate enemies as fast as possible. He doesn't really like using his quirk lethally, but he is very capable of it. He'll use his quirk to blind his enemies while striking his foes. If he wants to go all-out, he'll just suffocate his enemies with his smoke before they can even react. Basically, he's very overwhelming offensively. He is very much not invincible however. He's pretty much a regular human in terms of durability.
>>9470520920 is twice as big as ten but nothing says the values ascribed to those numbers are linearly increasing. In fact, given its based off of DND and a 20 in a stat is in fact much better than twice as good as a 10, I'd say it likely isn't linear. >>94705190That's how it would work in the game, Yggdrasil, but given the fact that we are playing as not video game characters i think the idea and intention is that we abstract the numbers.
>>94705230>Someone having a World Class item means they could easily solo not just the MP but also pretty much anyone in the New World who doesn't have one since you need a World Class item for World protection.Patently not true since the New World has multiple WCIs in it at any given point and none of the weilders rule the world or anything.
>>94705304I just assume we'd fill it seeing how Rex already has his two Medium class items done. All the Cash Shop items are tremendously OP for a reason, they were designed to work in a game. In the New World everything from there is from a bygone Age of Gods, even shit like our basic health potions are legendary quality here since they gotta make it themselves.>>94705338I'm mainly using the CYOA mechanics here.>Attribute Values have a fixed limit of 40, which represents 400% of an average human's capabilitiesSo I just worked backwards from there. That's why I was a bit confused when it was said it wasn't linear because that's how Overlord builds are stated anyway.>>94705344That's because most WCI's are hoarded and the users can't activate them. Usually they have some cost associated with em cause everyone who has them are super low tier in mana and it's hard to even decipher the effects unless you use it cause it's not like they have game tooltips. But we've seen them used as trump cards before, it's basically the same as using a nuke. You don't want to start using it freely cause then everyone will know what you have, and they might decide to use theirs. It's an extreme power not even an army could defeat because of their unique and unblockable effects, unless of course you got one too.
Rolled 2 (1d3)1. sword2. decrepit3. bug
>>94705327>>94705334Perfect, something for Reiji to get insecure over while tying it to canon is always good. Suffering builds character.
>>94705358I'm going to curse this run by pulling wiki.Gazef which is the same level we are has thishttps://overlordmaruyama.fandom.com/wiki/Razor_Edge as his top item.
>>94705118It'd be better to ask who specifically you want to know about as its relevent, I dont wanna answer as all my builds
>>94705381>Suffering builds character.You. I like you.
>>94702542How do we use the skill calculatorDo I even need to lsit all my skills
>>94705385Yeah that's the highest tier items I personally imagined people to have. I mean, the Five Treasures of the kingdom would be super shitty to any player. Gloves that made you have endless stamina is just Sheltered Vitality without the attribute damage protection, Amulet which gave you slow regeneration, Adamantine Armor which could shield you from low level magic which might just be Lesser Globe of Invulnerability, an impossibly sharp sword, and a ring which boosts your levels by up to 5.None of them surpasses anything beyond 5 data crystal capacity, the only outliers are the Sword and Ring since they deal with wild magic and such. Having just one of them though makes you to be a big deal. If someone had Lesser Globe of Invulnerability they could pretty much no sell almost every caster who isn't a renown mage since they'd need 5th tier magic to affect you.
>>94705118>ChristopherDepends on the quirks he has loaded. If he still has Hitomi (his copy of Inigo's quirk) loaded. They fight independently. He uses a sword nowadays, with a focus on quickdraw strikes, but he's easily the weakest sword practitioner of the builds. His fighting style otherwise is loadout dependent.
>>94705449So maybe rather than saying just "you get two free items", we specify what rank they are, like two "you get Top class items of a chosen type with the chosen data crystals for them" or maybe 1 Top 1 High? What about other "item slots" (let's say someone wants armor, shield and sword)? High quality but no data crystal capacity?
>>94705457>but he's easily the weakest sword practitioner of the buildsDunno, that title might go to Sally or Inigo. They started to dab into sword use, but didn't spend the Internship under a sword instructor.
>>94705118A prompt seems like a good way to try and get back into the groove of writing. In combat, Midas focuses primarily on environmental/crowd control. If you're somewhere like a city, everything within 100 meters is going to be made of gold. If you can't fly, you're going to have to fight through a sea of molten gold that's sucking you in and stabbing you and grabbing you with tentacles, etc. If you can fly, it's a similar deal, but much less dense. Midas himself likes to play with his food, as it is, not turning literally everything into gold instantly and instead slowly entrapping a foe, giving them less and less outs, until eventually they get engulfed in gold or picked apart. He's not dumb, though, and he tends to leave himself outs in case he underestimates an enemy; gold thread tied loosely around a hero's neck can very suddenly grow hard and taut, just as the hero leapt towards Midas to impale him, and gold particles in the air are likely to be spread by Midas, inhaled by heroes who could then be shredded from within. Crafty and cruel are the key words, here. It should be noted that a hero's costume and gear are liabilities if they're ever touched by gold. He also has Stealth, which I imagine as a tendency to hide and travel within his gold. He might chuckle darkly as he sinks into a pool of gold, using it to quickly reposition, or he might slam a hero with a golden cane that suddenly grew far more dense than it should be at the apex of the swing, walking through a golden wall in the moment they are dazed.I tried to show his fighting style in the fight against Majestic, where he got gold into Majestic's eyes and turned it boiling, but that writefag wasn't my best work. I had something in the works back then that would show a little more, but it's lost now. I might try a fight scene or two in my coming writefags.
>>94705504Oh, fair. I didn't think about them.
>>94705495Personally I'm leaning towards just Mediums. High would put it on the tier of Gazef's gear, but that was loaned out to him from the Kingdom on the account he was their strongest warrior going into a battle to essentially decide its future. Mainly just balancing around the fact we're going to have data crystals already applied. It's admittedly super limiting but kind of the point since 5 crystal capacity can get you insane buffs like Shadow Phase, Mighty Strength, Lesser Globe of Invulnerability, etc.
>>94705495I think its fine, we can just judge people by what they take.Im taking a Leaf (SAC) and a Divine Weapon for my two. It feels hero-tier to me.
>>94705555>>94705568The problem is that half of the people want to do a super low power thing where even 5 data crystals is a lot and the other half want to do proper heroes since were all level 30 which means some decent items.
>>94705118>ChihiroA fairly simple build as far as combat goes. Most of her arsenal is basically just really skillful swordsmanship but sped up. The more she has to drain (people, animals, plants, etc.), the more she's able to speed up, so context matters for her power level. If she's preparing to do a big move, then she'll need to have the energy to spend on it. I.E. she could hold back while fighting normally to gradually stockpile energy in secret (the slow and steady approach) or she could simply spend whatever she has on her, leaving her without much energy to spend after the fact (the desperate gambit kinda thing). Her drain can be weaponized in a little. For example she can get a sense for where people are from the energy she's draining from them, so sneaking up on her, breaking line of sight, turning off the lights etc. aren't too effective. Another use is to focus her drain into a smaller area. Her quirk essentially works where she has a special lung in her body that's tied into her pores. She's trained herself to be able to close off most of those pores except in a select area (typically her off hand), turning her really big but weak AoE effect (~40 meter radius) into a really small but strong melee range effect. Gives her a big boost of energy while stealing a big chunk of stamina. If an enemy is extremely durable, such that her melee attacks aren't doing much, or there's hostages she can't risk draining (sick, elderly, infants) then she's likely to use this. Both abilities are on the niche end though, so if you just end up writing her as a very fast swordsman it's probably fine in most situations. The thing she's draining stamina from is people's breath, so coming to the fight prepared can make things hard for her. Machines or simply people holding their breath can bypass her detection for example. A gas mask could potentially shut out her drain. Stuff like that. Knowing her quirk ahead of time opens up a lot of options.Prefers to be non-lethal.
>>94701140>To Hone a Blade>https://rentry.org/4ciut77tHere's a quick intro piece for Takako.
>>94705573We would be easily Hero tier even with 3 Data Crystal capacity on two items. Clementine who was a level 33 and stronger than Gazef only had a set of stilettos which stored a spell until triggered on an attack. It's low power compared to Players, but we are already starting at high power compared to everything but like the top 50 strongest beings in the world. A lot of people don't have magic equipment at all.
3 items: 2x Medium + 1x High.
>>94705118>MichelsonMight as well start. He doesn't really "fight" per say, as he's only as strong as a grown man asides from his jaws. He can tear apart arteries and tendons, but he's not gonna go for killshots as a now Pro Hero and Teacher. His real value is that of a tactical asset. Cable Lines, Computers, Cell Lines, Files, Communication Networks, and other necessary infrastructure are all things he can sneak into and destroy. He can also set up underground infrastrucure if given time and proper equipment.one of my ideas is that he would get a an enhanced GPR (Ground-Piercing Radar) from Rika to set up an underground emergency bunker under the dorms after he introduced himselfIf he's given the go-ahead and people are evacuated, he can create artificial sinkholes to swallow up vital enemy headquarters if absolutely necessary.
>>94705609That's fine for you, but I find it tediously boring if we use that little of the cyoa. We obviously probably shouldnt have two world class items or anything, but a single divine item and something else is more than fine for heroes. Were literally beyond the adventurers guild rankings by default. We aren't that weak.
>>94705627I'm arguing that we aren't weak with what we got currently. We're only using so little of the CYOA right now because this is our starting point. We haven't even outclassed the Adventurer's guild yet since 30 is just at the tail end of Adamantine.

I've done too many 'Low power start' games in dnd and stuff to find it fun anymore. Its just tedious.Full 100 overlord is also tedious for different reasons.
>>94705457>>94705504NTA, but of those three, I'd say it goes: Inigo, Chris, Sally.Inigo's had Gigan for most of/all of his life and no doubt played with him as a sword, Chris is new to swords but has interned with Ryusei, while Sally seems far more "gun beats sword, but sword beats nothing".
>>94705712I'd throw Inigo at the bottom precisely because he treats that as playing.
Rolled 1 (1d2)>>947011401. Soulless build2. Be a coward
>>94705693I'm against SAC's and Divine weapons mainly because once you there to that point, there's not anything level up from. SAC's are the capstones of a build to transform it from just a simple combination of class choices into your busted OP combo. I get not liking a low tier start, but there's just not going to be any progression from here since there won't ever be a need to get better weapons or to increase a build further since it's already a legendary swordsman. Also because it'd force everyone to take at least an SAC because even disregarding the custom ability you can make for it, being able to pick and choose whatever you want for a perfect class all for 5 points is too good of value to pass up. Someone who pays 10 to get a similar advanced class is losing out on how much stat levels it gives you for caster/martial and vitality.
>>94705597Very nice intro. It's kinda funny, but one idea I had for an intro with Himeko had the same kind of trial involved, just that it was an entrance exam for the new freshmen and the trick wasn't that the finish line moves, but that you have an object you need to protect and carry to the finish line.At any rate, smug granny is perfectly in character, Takako showed off her ferocity well, and I love that you even gave the fox a moment to strut around. Thanks for cooking anon. Enjoyed the read.>>94705118>Amahagane HimekoThe brand new writefag did a good job showing it, but Himeko is a ranged opponent with a powerful quirk, good mobility, and a lot of combat experience. She can ride her swords to fly around, she can overwhelm enemies from all directions, she can create makeshift walls out of swords, and she can also just drop a roughly four hundred thousand kilogram katana on you from the sky. She's got range and raw destructive power in spades.However... She's old. Any hit landed on her is likely game over. Maintaining her quirk at full force can quickly tire her out. Her slower reaction times can lead to attacks slipping through her defenses. Also she'll get vertigo if she moves too quickly, so if she flies around on her swords at high speeds it causes problems. Because of the way her quirk constructs sense their surroundings, she can't just make a perfect barrier around herself to hide behind either. She at least needs to be able to see the battlefield in order to direct her quirk properly. In other words, her narrative purpose is to be a very flashy jobber. She's got a lot of big, impactful attacks, but there's a ton of ways to turn things around and get a hit in so a villain can show their terror by one-shotting someone with a lot of presence. In order to not job, she'd probably need to be fighting weaklings, playing a support role like providing covering fire, or would need another PC to play the role of body guard.
>>94705737I don't think we should get any more items personally. I think we should have the two and thats it. Everything else is class levels. We can't get data crystals without ygg so the only other items we might get are existing enchanted stuff from writefags, not new ones.
>>94705737If you don't take a SAC you can take two divine gears or even a stat stick item if you're crazy.I think its fine, there's a lot of variety to take in those two items.
>>94705729What're you making, anon?
>>94705745That's how I'd think it should work normally as getting an enchanted item is a big reward, but issue is starting out with a max tier fully kitted enchanted item makes getting anything else pretty lackluster. Going against someone who's got a +15 tier weapon would most likely destroy any equipment that's High class or lower since it's not only data crystal capacity but also just how good of a weapon it is at base. Adamantine Plate is a Top class item for example.>>94705755It's not about build variety, I don't think starting with the strongest gear besides WCI is a good idea. We'd basically be rolling out with gear that defies any understanding to a common NPC. How would we even explain how we got it since it's not something that grows on trees, it's items that come directly from Players. And it's not about personal preference ignoring an SAC, your build will always be weaker than a build who took one if you didn't because they paid 5 levels instead of 10 for the equivalent of a Advanced Class. Doesn't matter if its dogshit selections like all Rider stuff on someone who doesn't use the Ride skill, it just works out better in stats.
>>94705712>>94705724Also nta, but I think Inigo vs Chris for swordsmanship is an odd topic. Personally I agree that in pure terms of swordsmanship, Chris's internships should help him stay ahead. Inigo plays around a bit too much and he probably wasn't putting in as many hours as Chris. On the other hand, Chris went into things without any particular martial arts expertise whereas Inigo regularly uses melee in his normal combat, with an extra focus on kicks (which he could surely mix into his swordplay). So it's sort of a Chihiro VS Hifumi situation but scaled down, where you have a purest fighting a tricky street fighter.
>>94705790Youre too stuck on Canon, the PCs dont exist. The items just exist in our world. Ancient artifacts, family/tribe heirlooms, literal spontaneously generated magical items like the sword earlier from canon etc.We dont need to outclass the other heroes, but we should outclass the below-hero rank people because we ARE heroes
>>94705823But we already do outclass below hero rank people, which is why I don't understand why we need all of this gear too. Even ignoring canon, having gear that's only outshined by World altering items makes no sense. We're treating it like a default instead of what it really is, the best gear you can possibly obtain. The level difference between someone's who 20 compared to someone who's 30 is insurmountable. You can try to fight someone with a 5 level difference but you'd need special strategies since it's stacked against you heavily, but more than that is nearly impossible. A level isn't just going out and doing one quest and suddenly you can assign your stats, it's just a natural growth you get over years. People don't even know what levels are, they just know you grow stronger and use their own system to measure what they think your power is.
>>94705118>Amahagane TakakoHer fighting style is fairly straightforward, using her enhanced physicality and swordsmanship to become a fierce close-quarters opponent. Her quirks assists in this by truly making any part of her body a deadly weapon, but it can do a fair bit more than just make her katana themed porcupine. The degree to which she can find tune the shape her blades allows her to do things like create more conventional armor or, for a less combat oriented purpose, form a blade in such a way that it might function as a key. Though, can't stray too far from the general shape of a katana. The sonic aspect of her powers is also useful for creating disorienting frequencies to distract and disable opponents without having to make physical contact.>>94705739Glad everything came through well.
>>94705118Meadow uses Capture Cloth to great effect while ramping up her power until it becomes a even more mobile and dangerous Capture Cloth of its own (Capture Music). The longer her quirk is active the more tendrils of music and the length of those tendrils she can control, they also apply various status effects which can be quite debilitating. So it goes from just having to avoid the two or so strips of capture cloth she attacks with to being attacked from multiple angles by both the physical cloth and the quirk.

She studied diligently and her speech improved a great deal over time. She excels at whatever she can put her mind to especially when it comes to working as a team to disable a villian or rescue civillians. Maybe include them in your existing plotlines?
>>94704069Eeh, technically not. Kaylee's Rival, as far as the drawback goes, has always been Hailey. I wrote a short writefag called Rivalry's Beginning about how it started way back at the beginning of the MP. Kaylee doesn't see Orochi as a Rival the way that the CYOA describes it. Her emotions don't flare up, she will always try to best anyone she's up against, and their teamwork is at the very least above atrocious. Orochi falls into the same category as Bobby, Shinkan, and I guess Chris if she could ever convince him to copy their quirks at the same time. However, if Orochi-anon wants Orochi to consider Kaylee as her rival, it's not like she'd argue otherwise!>>94705118Kaylee's fighting style is still evolving. She's learned Grappling from Ippon and better Blasting from Majestic. At range, she employs ki blasts of varying size and power, and can use these to wipe out weaker opponents or distract/incapacitate the stronger. Example of this would be the Solar Flare from the tournament., but it could also be used to launch a barrage of blasts to create a smokescreen (or the equivalent of it) to allow the range to be closed. In close combat, she's taken to grapples and chokes in addition to punches and kicks, as she learned some martial arts theory. That being, in aerial combat, straight up strikes aren't too effective, as the opponent can simply roll/fly with the strike, minimizing its effect. In comparison, if you get a rear naked choke or a flat out bear hug, then they can't get away so easily. Of course, with opponents who can also cause damage with quirks in close combat (like Orochi!), contact isn't a good idea. She's trying to develop her own style of martial arts, but it's a slow process, right now simply integrating what she can from watching others. For example, she's practicing a trick she's observed from Inigo to combat the aforementioned; that being essentially wrapping herself in ki like a shield/armor, but she's not got the full knack of it yet.
>>94706237Well, seeing what are the plans of everyone for the future would be quite nice. Well, I can't say much about recent writefags save for the Sword-Girl introduction.I'm quite sad that my newest writefag didn't perform that well in (you), but well, it happens and I'm happy for the answers I got.
>>94705118>HifumiHis base is Kendo mixed with yankee style streetfighting. The sword strikes are typical of Kendo. Quick and decisive, but more like hits than actual cuts. Usually, they are done in a charge rather than standing still. His sword is almost always in the "safe mode", where the edge is covered by the built-in sheath, turning it into something akin to a boken. It can be unsheathed to cut, but that's used almost exclusively against constructs and objects rather than people. He can cut if needed, and does practice it from time to time, but isn't as proficient at it as Chihiro is. His favourite stance is jodan followed by chudan, but sometimes he'll use fancier ones because they looked cool in movies. The streetfighing side is mostly unarmed, but also includes use of some improvised weapons and exploiting the surroundings. He can throw hands, but it's not super clean. When mixed with the sword, it's some strikes (in particular front kicks, low kicks and headbutts), and quick grapples (mostly foot sweeps and some quick joint-locks). Rather similar to Smokin's approach in that. He's got that yankee grit and toughness, but he doesn't have super durability or regen, so he has to try to avoid taking damage. Usually, that's done by avoiding attacks with his Quirk or parrying them with his sword. If that doesn't work, he hopes his armour take the brunt of the hits.He uses Blink to get in range to attack, and get out of range to dodge. Also, for attacks, because he can do it mid-strike and change his body position while at it (but keep the momentum), it can be used to strike from very unexpected angles and even bypassing the guard. However, doing that very precisely and quickly isn't easy, especially in difficult environments, and he needs to sort of pre-plan it because he has to close his eyes mid-teleport, so it's not a sure hit.
>>94703389Season 3 of this anime goes hard. I enjoyed the revelation-a-minute style and the tone jumps were satisfying. Good job
>>94706275He uses a weapon to make up for the lack of super-strength, but in case that's not enough, he has developed the "Waterfall Style". Basically, it's teleporting high into the air, and building momentum by falling, and then returning and using that momentum to increase the force of his strike. Especially when used with the sword in blunt mode, the kickback can be significant, so that limits how fast he can go before striking without damaging himself (the armour has been reinforced to help mitigate that a bit). Also, there is a significant risk of crashing if he fucks up, so especially when fighting in confined spaces, the use of this style can be dangerous. It can also be used for increased mobility, especially when combined with the wingsuit built into his armour. No Awakening yet but there were some ideas for how it'd work: https://rentry.org/tikefh23#awakening-spoilers, and he did take some experimental Trigger once which resulted in the ability to teleport without his somatic component (and a lot of side effects).PS: Happy New Year, Anons! It's already 2025 for me.
>>94705118>SallyShe is a long-ranged fighter with a minimal ability to fight at close quarters besides for quick reflexes to get mind-close range shots off and some very shoddy Kendo to try and use.Her quirk has a maxes range of 100 meter and can pretty much guarantee a hit on even a moving target at about 50 meters assuming she can concentrate. She isn't perfect so its down to the writer's needs when she hits and misses. Her quirk does not have an awakening but can synergize with Noah's when they hold hands. It causes whatever she fires to have much greater velocity and to emit a strong light as they travel. She may be reckless socially, but especially after proper training she knows that her quirk works at long distances and with considered timing so the shots she takes can have the largest effect. She is capable of fast, fully auto fire but is quickly exhausting and with rifle calibers can easily damage her limbs. She usually sticks to single, powerful shots to avoid collateral damage and conserve calories. Her quirk is incapable of making grenades or ammunition with electronic components(so no laser guidance bullshit). Lastly, the highest "safe" caliber she can fire is .50 BMG(takes a third of her calories) and the most destructive thing she can fire while breaking the limb in the process is a 100mm shell(over half of her calories)Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

>>94706296Good I remembered the breaking the limb thingy in my writefag. I was not sure if this was the case but decided to gamble.
>>94706221I'm glad you feel happy anon! What's making you happy?>>94706238I have a bunch of unfinished stuff from a year ago for Smokin' Sexy, so I'm repurposing that into newer writefags. I want him to become more responsible and actually have a reason to live. He's still stuck in the past, so I want him to change from that (by diving into his past too). For some characters I want SS to interact with, probably Popsy, Chris, and maybe some of the heroes. Potentially 1-D, if the teacher SS route goes through. I'm planning on including some villains like Gnash and Mammogar in something soon. There are actually a lot of cool builds and a lot of sick writefags popping up, so I honestly don't really have a preference for the newer characters. They're all cool!
>>94705799This is just an argument for Inigo being the better kickboxer
>>94701140I someohow managed to come up with at least a couple interesting ideas for a character here but with all the stuff already there jumping in now feels a bit meaningless.
>>94701140>Legion (Aquarius)https://rentry.org/pcnzmbmxTime to bring a plotline back from the dead.
>>94706238>NPCThere is not a single time I've considered using an npc. I just create my own if I need some rando for something.
>>94705799>>94706363From the starting position, neither of them had any Martial Arts, right? Inigo had the Athletics, so that's something. They both seem strongly reliant on their Quirks, rather than fighting physically (even when Inigo fights in close quarters, it seemed to be more Gigan doing stuff, like in his spar against Junichi). Chris had the internship under Smokin'. Inigo visited Mitsurugi Dojo a bunch, but played there more than he learned. When it comes to actual swordplay, my vote is on Chris. If it were an all out fight, then I have no opinion.
>>94706378post your build/writing or else I will beat the piss out of you--there will be no insecurity allowed in my nerdy, fanfiction CYOA general.
>>94706238>What are your plans for your character? For Himeko... ngl, that's a tough one. It's where I struggle. For now I think I'm playing things by ear and acting more a a plot device than someone actively pushing plot. If possible, I'd like to help do some stuff for the new freshman class as a whole, set the stage for them to get interaction rolling.>Is there a particular player character or NPC you want to interact with or include in your plots right away?Main target is certainly Takako, but there was also talks of Red Oni attacking Himeko. I could also see some fun that comes out of Himeko teaching style with a student like Reiji- he's mouthy and cocky enough for her to have fun making his course load heavier, but unlike Takako he'd probably feel regret at that fact.>For the old guard here, among the new characters, is there one that draws your attention and makes you want to interact with them? For Chihiro, not sure. I could certainly see her interacting with Takako and Himeko, (helps when the latter is literally also me). I did have an idea that Chihiro's family swords could be Amahagene swords, and I could also see Takako trying to do a dojo crush of the (former) 1-D cast thanks to the high concentration of sword users, starting with Chris, Inigo, and Sally and getting cocky as a result, only to get humbled by either Chihiro or Hifumi who have the advantage of a year of hero school and some live combat experience to show for it.In terms of already active plotlines, I've got an ongoing and long since rotted project called the wallflower saga, I'd like to react and build on various things from other anons, from Inigo's internship fics, some Hoge fics, the new #0 fic. Even doing something with Chris and Ryusei would be a lot of fun... Lots of stuff but not enough writefag power in me.>>94706251Well on my end, my plans for the future are as above. Nothing crazy exciting. How about you anon? Got any plans? What's next on the horizon?
>>94702613>Why change OrochiBecause of the requirements everyone gave.

>>94703012>Is Baphomet with Addy or Alana?I have no idea at this point, we should make a poll or something cause I sure as shit can't decide
>>94706453The most active one should just pick.
>>94706399What? I don't have a build ready yet, and I can't have writig for a build that doesn't exist. I am still considering which version of the cyoa is better for it, or which of the two ideas to go for, I am not even sure if one of the two is possible. I am also not sure if not wanting to join counts as insecurity, it's more like knowing the market for lack of a better term.
>>94706452Looking at the thread just MHA.
>>94706206Why do we keep using DND logic here. We've got some systems based on it sure but it's not entirely 1:1 scaling as seen with stats. Elves get their asses kicked all the time. They just mostly hole up in their own places so we don't see them interact much, but they don't easily stomp the rest of the races as seen as to how they struggle against the human kingdoms. Elves are not level 30 on average either, they just look like it because they got hundreds of years lifespan. A level 30 elf is already 100+ years old. All humanoids are mostly the same, it only gets a larger difference with Heteromorphs, and even still it takes time to reach those levels. Just because goblins CAN go up to level 50 doesn't mean we're going against level 50 goblins.
>>94706470So what are the elements that make it successful?Urban? School? Japanese? Superheroes?
>>94706238>What are your plans for your character? For Michelson, well I have some Ideas from the knowledge I have currently, but to formulate some real plans I need to finish reading all the writefags.
>>94706486Yeah
>>94706494Do you have any ideas on what else would be successful?
>>94706433>What's next on the horizon?Thinking about writing Orochi's POV on the aftermath of #0, bringing the Legion to Kyoto (And hopefully finishing at least one Legion Master build when doing so, probably Romeo's), start gang shenanigans.Thinking about Orochi interacting with the freshmen and maybe trying to bring Takako to the Gangster side of the ForceAnd making a new Relationship chart for Orochi with the new 1-D and updated interactions.
>>94706498Good OC
>>94706457Who's the most active
>>94706452There's lots of theories anons have tossed around. PvP focused settings are harder as many anons get competitive. Settings with too large of an area are bad because people too far away from eachother have a harder time interacting. Settings with some forced common ground (schools being the most common, but something like Chaldea in FGO also works) help because it makes interactions easier. Settings with too high a power level are bad because it makes it hard to apply serious stakes to events. Settings where people have too many different powers also seem to be at a disadvantage in my eyes because it makes writing fight scenes a lot harder as opposed to giving everyone one well developed power. Modern settings have a slight edge because the minutia of a modern setting are intuitive and easier to work with.... etc.I don't think any one factor is a deal breaker or deal maker, but the more things line up the better. By that logic, MHA did so well because it ticked pretty much all the boxes... That's the schizo theorycrafter in me anyway. It could just as well be random luck that makes an mp succeed and everything else is just us trying to draw logical connections where they don't exist.
>>94706238>HifumiI feel like I've discussed it already a couple times, but for a quick recap. When it comes to actual writefags, the one I'm struggling with now is the Spring Break trip to meet Hailey's family in Korea with a mystery twist. Another writefag that has been shelved, and I don't know if I'll come back to it, is set during the internships and is Hifumi + Smokin' + Chihiro + Chris working security on a festival targeted by a villain group, while pretending to run a sword class stand. For overall plot points and character's I'm interested in, I mentioned some in the dorms prompt (>>94698026 & https://rentry.org/5vrirhag). There is always the looming spectre of Sandy in the distance, but that's a subject big and scary enough that I don't really have a good idea how to approach it. From other villains, there is always a chance of Tomi making a return, and that plotline in general spilling over to others, but other than stuff mentioned with Inigo, I don't have anything solid yet.Looking at the new characters (correct me if I missed anyone):-the African cultist hasn't won me over yet; I'm a bit wary when someone comes in and the first thing he does is want to kill old builds, but he did push one writefag already, which I haven't read yet, so maybe it'll work; if he kills Floor, then Hifumi would be one of the students he'd earn extra enmity from considering he interned under Impakt-The saber senior (class) and saber senior (age) - no strong feelings yet. The sword theme has been common before, so coming up with something here that couldn't have been done already is a bit difficult, but there must be something there. We were lacking in senpais before, with there being practically only Nene and Mio, so an active upperclassman is a welcome sight.-Hacker freshman - I like the build, but I don't see many possible interactions yet except maybe indirectly through Koreans or if he came for advice after he got his butt kicked.I'm sleepy, time to bed.

>>94706555Sahaz is the prince of the royal L’Argent clan of Del Gommel, who conquered the Del Gommel Wetlands in what the settlers call the Far World, across the sea. The wetlands sit at the bottom of a mountain range, and beneath them spread what was once further wetland but has since transformed into a soggy, dead expanse of barren silt dunes resembling a salt marsh if it was filled with Dead Sea water.During a long ago, but not forgotten war, the Argent tribe desolated the lands of their adversaries in a bid for power, pouring the water from the Argent Basin downriver into the lower strata of the wetlands. The sterile water destroyed the minerals in the dirt and the microbiomes supporting the water habitats, as well as inside of anything that drank from it. The desolation has left the L’Argents reviled by many among the lowland Birdmen, but their tribe established its power well enough since that none have yet been able to succeed in a coup.
>>94706500Certainly checks out to me. It's been a long time since Legion was an active factor in the mp, so I'm looking forward to seeing it. Haven't seen the silly fellas from 108 stars in a while either.Huh. I can see it a little- it'd be a way for Takako to express her desire to step out from her grandmother's shadow. Not sure how Himeko would feel about it... I think she'd be willing to let her granddaughter experience the wild side if she truly wants to, but mostly because she has faith that Takako would return to being a hero in time. If that proved wrong, she'd probably have some mixed feelings. Maybe she'd dramatically lament at where her teachings had gone wrong.Of course that's all pending on if Takako actually goes along with it or not.Ah... I should seriously do a relationship chart myself at some point... My rot is truly haunting me...
>>94706507>>94706540That's a shame honestly because I like high power levels and dislike lower scale stuff
>>94706526I haven't read your latest writefag yet, so my comment might be super off, in that case disregard it. I also don't remember that much about other Legion Members, but I do remember you answering when SandyAnon asked you about them.I think there was someone shooting fire constructs, but I think that was the vice-leader not the Master or something like that.Anyway.1. Hifumi did meet Momo before and he did visit Chihiro's dojo from time to time, so him being on Legion's radar in some capacity sounds possible.2. Legion have a beef with Sandy, so targeting his (former) friends sounds like a reasonable course of action.Sorry, if I don't have anything really solid to say. I am getting really sleepy.
>>94706576>Haven't seen the silly fellas from 108 stars in a while either.I have something on the works for them, but it will advance Orochi's plotline, so I can't do it right now, gotta let Orochi enjoy the dorms a little longer.
>>94706577Like I said though, any one factor doesn't need to be a deal breaker. Also like the one anon said, I did kinda conflate a lack of stakes with high power. As long as you find a way for high power characters to fit into all the other boxes, I'm sure it's fine.I think the big thing where a lot of high power level setting stumble is the thing with having too many powers. When ever actor has 6+ different powers to consider, and they're all very strong or even conceptual in nature, planning fights is way harder. If an OC really dialed it in and made a system to design a single, thoughtful, and high power ability for each character, it'd go a long ways. More so the more of the other boxes said OC tics of course.
>>94706506Addy is the only one who's written.
>>94706591What I had in mind was more in line with Hifumi getting involved (fighting the legion), and thus getting on their radar, and possible interactions with Momo, but I am with an idea to bring them in kind of like bosses of a game.First, it starts with Romeo, the "weakest" leader. Then goes to Machinist (which I have to make a whole revamp because I don't even remember what his quirk is), then a Buffed Momotaro and the last one is the Hound.Technically it can't be Momotaro, so I can't build a beef between her and Hifumi right away.

>>94706646Not a single idea.
>>94705118Rob's Fighting style obviously revolves heavily around use of his goo-squirting. He has started learning martial arts, but mostly any actual fisticuffs are on the 'schoolyard brawl' level. >>94706669Fair enough. It's a recent development. Personally I figure one thing to explore is how close living conditions can negatively impact relationships, as well how they can resolve that stuff going forward. The running gag with Junichi not flushing is a good example of that kind of thing, but you can have stuff like the noodles chewing on stuff (and leaving poison saliva around as a result), someone liking loud music too much, the martial arts people getting up early and unintentionally waking other people up, stuff like that. See how personalities clash when their personal lives get too close together.

>>94705118Marumaru is all about staying in motion, which maximizes the illusory effects of her quirk. She's internalized that survivability onion meme graphic and bets everything on it, every time. Her style is about strong fundamentals with striking and swordplay (since she doesn't have the experience to go beyond them anyway), plenty of feints and false charges, getting to and staying in blind spots, and lots of shameless improvisation. She's not above using the opponent as an acrobatic platform and making her body weight into a weapon to keep them off-balance. There is zero dignity in any of it and nothing is off-limits. She'll throw trash and kick balls if it seems like it will help. Her favorite tactic is overwhelming force from ambush, because it's less tiring than what she has to do while fighting for real. So she's also not above running away and returning when the opponent is distracted or she can set up a misdirection. Marumaru might be a larger-than-life ninja cosplay hero type, but the real girl Hoge beneath the mask is very aware that she's not tough or strong or skilled. Her adrenal instinct is flight, not fight, and needs a reason to stick around and get engaged.

>>94705852You are correct but this thread will never admit you're right. That's why I haven't joined the lasst two Overlord runs even though I think it has potential. There's too much wank, too much wikifagging. It's like they think the character building is the entire game. It's a poisoned well, imo.
>>94706887Stat points are default, items still to be determined.
>>94706901Actually this is based. We should do a prompt asking what each build would be in a pokemon game and what their team would be like. Random trainer? A rival? One of the bad guys? A gym leader, elite four, etc?
>>94706901>ElectrodeThis is the only one I recognised based on name alone. Why are there so many new pokemon? Fuck, I'm getting old.
>>94706923What about partial classes? I thought you could only have one "current" one, but birdo has multiple.
>>94706931Not even Houndoom? C'mon, anon.
>>94706251If it's the big battle one with the dojo and sandy, I haven't been able to read it yet. That's the curse of releasing a long writefag, unfortunately.
>>94706941I did what I said here >>94703515>>94706887I chose any two items and used the 75 stat points from the prompts.
>>94706900I'd use this and use your Caster Level to determine what tier you can use. https://overlordmaruyama.fandom.com/wiki/Tier_Magic>>94706921To be fair I do a lot of wikifagging too. I think more people should do it actually because there's a lot of questions which are easily answered. I've probably spent no more than like 3 hours across all Overlord runs we've ran, and half of that was just this solely for this run because of the New World inhabitant scenario switching things up. Hell I just google any question I have. I know people don't like it but genuinely you can just find answers from reddit because there's been nerds debating over every detail ever since the series came out.
>>94706955Doing that for multiple classes sort of compounds the error. I haven't checked what the situation is for him, but imagine that you were to make a build that's full of 5/10 partial advanced classes and for each you take 2 abilities because that's what they'd round to separately.
>>94701140This may be a strange question but I am trying to see if some ideas I have could work. In animal mimicry what exactly counts as a "secondary feature" for fantastical? The exeample is very confusing, normally fire breath is considered one of the main abilities of a dragon but the cyoa treats it as a secondary one.
>>94706901>ElectrodeMore like elecchode.
>>94706997The secondary ability can be treated as the one you didn't take IMO. Also, are you making a dragon?
>>94706880I'll use Path of War weeaboo combat maneuvers for physical action commands>>94706964Thanks anon, that helps.>>94706985I don't understand your words.
>>94706997I think you're reading it oddly is all. Fire breath in that example isn't "a secondary power". All it's saying is that you don't get two custom powers, and that flight and fire breath would both count as a power.
>>94707006NTA but basically he's talking about minmaxing partial classes. By paying for just a portion and getting an equal amount bonus, it could mean picking and choosing the best options by getting the best top options. What he's sayings specifically is paying 5 levels for Advanced Classes which have 4 abilities so you get the top 2.
>>94706985I think I understood now. For the class with 1/3 I took one ability, for the class with 2/3 I took two, and for the class with 1/2 I took two.
>>947068872 items, you can get as strong of items as you want but it'll put a target on you if its too obviously powerful to other people.75 statpoints BUT 10 for us at level 30 is vastly higher than 10 for a level 5 peasant. Basically its just average for level 30, not average for humans.
>>94707003I am debating what to make, I have a couple ideas and one would kinda include a dragon, it would be a different kind of dragon but I am not sure if it's already been made. There are some interesting legendary creatures but the description was a bit more confusing. The simplest idea I have is a Quirk Absorption build that doesn't use the quirks, a sort of deal maker that makes a buisness by redistributing quirks and that requires consent to do it. I am almost sure nobody did it and it would not be OP since it would just be a dealer of sorts. On one hand it would open some very interesting narratives, on the other I would not be able to write much for it since I personally find it more boring, it would be interesting as a character to have but not to write, I don't know if that makes sense.I need to find something I am more presnally invested in and relatively obscure myths are kinda my thing. My only problem with that is that I almost ended up just making one of my other characters again.
>>94706452I won't go into all of it again, but the setting has to be large enough for varied scenery but still small enough that it is reasonable to assume that any player character can happen upon any other at any time. This is why space settings have never worked a single time, because it strains credibility too much to have two randos cross paths unintentionally and the travel distances and times are so extreme that appointed meetings exclude all other interactions meanwhile. This also extended to something like HOTW, where the different regions across the countryside ended with the cast siloed off from each other. Urban settings are generally ideal for this balance, since any given day it takes only an hour or two at most to get from one end to the other and so travel times and chance meetings get immediate buy-in for anyone consuming it. Something like a village would generally not have enough variety in the backdrop and context, but a village and also its immediate environs would be fine. The setting also needs to have a reason for player characters to interact and, ideally, come into conflict. This is the major hamper for high power games. The more godlike and independent any character is, the less they have to depend on other characters and the less anyone gives a shit about if they end up fighting or whatever. It all just becomes nonsense with too big a scale to be relatable or intriguing. This is again why MHA returns and returns, because there is a constant need and desire for the characters to interact, since even the most ludicrously powerful builds can't act totally arbitrarily or they'll be snuffed out by the setting itself. It doesn't hurt that as far as superheroes go, everyone is generally rather low-powered, and yet the tropes and cliches of superhero slop are all immediately recognizable and usable for anyone who wants to join in.
>>94707006>I don't understand your wordsSorry, let me try again. If we take as a base something like this >>94702632 and allow for multiple special classes, the error can stack to the point it gets significant. With a single class, that's basically half an ability off with the way it's rounded. If you can tak multiple classes, then for each partial advanced class, that'd give you 0.5 ability extra, which can get significant. If you add to that the cases where you pick which abilities you want from the list and it gets even more OP>>94707027Advanced have 3 abilities per 10 level, that's why the very preferential rounding kicks in. (Basic have 4 abilities per 15 levels but also less requirements.)>>947070294*(1/3) + 4*(2/3) +3*(1/2)= 5.5 ~= 6I'd say you could take one more ability in your case, but that's on that slightly preferential rounding side, but I'm a bit confused over which Hex Master abilities you have.
>>94707133Ah I see, I didn't look at those proposed calcs someone made beforehand. Rounding down makes more sense for sure. Doing partial classes makes more sense as a way to invest levels and work towards something, it shouldn't benefit more than you put into it.
>>94706511No, she cannot. The sisters of battle would be very disappointed with her method of abjuring the heretic.
>>94707112Ah, sadge. I thought the Atsushi family was getting a new manwhore.
>>94707162Hey, Sallyanon. Since ya here, how much do you think the Aftermath of 0 would affect Sally?
>>94707162I got a vision of Sally in the future while on the internet.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ozTrHCTsSA
>>94707012I see, it makes kinda sense but it raises the question of is a "power" or "ability" in that sense. Fire breath and flight are two very different things, but is strenght an ability? Speed? Stat boosts so to speak, are they separate powers? I can probably just make most of the legends I know with a combination of two other powers anyway so it's not that big of a deal but it is a bit confusing.
>>94707184You're not wrong that it's a little confusing. I've always took it that you're inheriting purely physical characteristics, so if it has wings it can fly even if it shouldn't. A kraken has gills, so you don't need to pay extra to breathe underwater, etc. If it's something no real animal can do then it becomes an issue.
>>94707164What the fuck? If there is a whole family of dragons I won't make one regardless of how unique I think it may be. This is part of why I don't really want to make a character, too much baggage and previous builds to consider. I discovered I don't hate the cyoa, but the rest of the problems sadly did not go away.
>>94707204It is technically a clan with different core families. There is the main family and the mutant family. Possibly more families are out there.
>>94707167Withdrawn and paranoid, less yelling furiously and more unresponsive and terrified of the future. >>94707164>Did you know that despite having a quarter the number of heroes as Tokyo, Kyoto has twelve times more heroes with dragon-themed quirks? I thought that was interesting.
>>94707211Sandatsu distributes trauma like Santa distributes gifts.
>>94706238I'd like to do better with mystery-type stories. I still have a thing with uncovering Rescue Ray's secrets that I keep workshopping and taking apart over and over. I might keep that in pocket for an extended break or as a year 2 internship? It feels like there's a big piece missing that I can't see yet and hopefully I'll know it when I see it and the inspiration will make all the disparate ideas finally come together.Beyond that, I also want to do something with the rogue's gallery I cobbled together. I think the Flash style sympathy-with-your-villains thing with Shoggoth is fun and I like that Maru's strictly outclassed so it has to be a mental game every time. Depending on what other people end up doing with Mammogar could change how those interactions happen quite a lot and I'm looking forward to it. It's cool that multiple writers are using him because it makes the setting feel more interconnected even at the small scale. And finally, I want to link Blank with the DDI, Turncoat, and Pax plotlines and reveal what I had planned for the Maru/Blank connection. It will definitely get me booed off the stage, but I'm going to do it anyway because I didn't plant the seeds and I want to see them sprout. More on the SoL side, I'm looking to explore Hoge not having responsibility or authority but still being a nosy nagging busybody in spite of herself. Part of that is playing up the self-image of senpai to incoming freshmen even though it's likely that they're already more competent than her at most things pertaining to a Hero course. The longer direction of that arc is to convince her that she doesn't need to be useful and excellent in order to be included or appreciated. It's something that will never entirely sink in, but will help her chill out more and let things slide as "the wasteful madness of other people." She will always be a judgemental cunt and an obsessive perfectionist, this is my solemn promise. But also show her doting and sentimental side.
>>94706555>>94707133I updated the character and made a rentry, will repost in the next thread.https://rentry.org/7u8h27bi
>>94707211>and would earnestly ask Rosethorn what she's supposed to do, since her apartment isn't safe anymore, nor is the dojo.>"Whatever you do, Sally, do not become a Ceiling painter!"
>>94707204>If there is a whole family of dragonsTwo, actually. And an unrelated guy with a water dragon quirk.Dragons are pretty popular in Kyoto. Honestly, there's plenty of room to make a gag out of it.
>>94707203This makes more sense than one power at a time, it would be just way worse than normal mimicry otherwise for a whole lot more points. The thing is that some animals can do some crazy shit that most people would not believe, like setting themselves on fire or exploding.>>94707208Are they Lung dragons? Like japanese/chinese dragons, or normal dragons? This may prove my idea was not that unique, the execution may have been but concept maybe not.
>>94707228I love how you make Hoge so insufferably pitiful. It is like a trainwreck you can't look away from.
>>94706383Interesting that artificial quirks seem to be something that's been invented and re-invented. It reminds me of some things in the real world - not at the level of superpowers in a can, obviously - that are too big so the methods to create them never get published or patented so different corporations or governments have their own copies with their own unique flaws.I hope this means we'll have more villain plots this go around.
>>94707240The main family is kind of a mix of both. The mother looks like a Chinese Dragon, the son has a Western dragon quirk. The second family is pretty much entirely Eastern dragons save for a hydra.
>>94707212>>94707236I should have expected this considering we are in japan, and everybody knows/likes dragons. The fact that they tend to be powerful also helps probably.>>94707255Interesting, I kinda want to read the builds to see if someone made my idea already or if I can maybe still be somewhat new. I will probably just do something else at this point but I guess I would need to read the rest at some point anyway.
>>94707269Seiryu and Yamata are the ones you need to check.

>>94706841I used Gaia Online for physical action commands. It was amusing to me but more than that it was nostalgic. Way more than 3.PF ever could be. Hated that edition.
>>94707246Well, part of the spell of Legion (the Leader) is that she is from a different era. Sure her memories may be a bit messy because of all of her cloning, and her appearance most likely is different from her original self, but she still clings to how the humanity pre-quirks operated.
>>94707289>7I think this can have a good chemistry with the cult-like aspect of the Legion and how they actually bleed into other aspects of society like pharmacies, self-help groups, etc.

Outgoing and bright, Deckard has a natural ability to make others feel comfortable, often cracking jokes or keeping the energy light and fun. He’s always smiling, and his friendly, approachable nature makes him popular among his peers. However, Deckard’s outward confidence masks a deeply private side. Years of moving from school to school, thanks to his father’s position as a U.S. Navy Admiral, have left him with little desire—or ability—to dig deeply into his own life with others. Instead, he’s mastered the art of keeping conversations surface-level, steering topics toward lighthearted subjects like movies, fashion, or other people’s interests and problems. While he’s a great listener and genuinely empathetic, Deckard deflects any attempts to pry into his own thoughts, especially on topics beyond the trivial. When pressed, he’ll respond with a short, often vague answer that leaves the conversation at a polite standstill. It’s not that there’s anything particularly wrong in his life; it’s just that Deckard prefers to keep his inner world his own.
>>94707591>QuirkQuirk: Swap-MeetDeckard’s quirk, "Swap-Meet," allows him to instantly swap the positions of two or more objects or people, provided he can see and point at them. This seemingly simple ability is incredibly versatile, and Deckard uses it in ways that leave opponents—and sometimes allies—completely disoriented. Charging enemies often find themselves crashing into walls, tangled in obstacles, or suddenly out of position. Meanwhile, Deckard can rescue allies from harm or place them in the perfect spot to execute their next move.>Further NotesKid Question’s strength lies in his planning and adaptability. Using his engineering prowess, he creates a wide array of gadgets to augment his abilities. His arsenal includes explosives (gas, concussive, flashbang, adhesive), tasers, wrist-mounted launchers, and even fast-acting concrete. By swapping these gadgets directly into enemy positions, he can control the battlefield with precision. Blinded foes might suddenly find themselves swapped with his taser, and anyone caught off guard could be glued to the ground in an instant.By chaining swaps with objects in midair, he can simulate flight, darting unpredictably across the battlefield. His quirk, combined with his strategic gadget use, makes him a nightmare for enemies who rely on brute force or straightforward tactics.Kid Question is a fledgling strategist, often thinking 3–5 moves ahead. His attention to detail and knack for research give him an edge; he tailors his gadgets and tactics to counter specific foes or support his allies in unique ways. He’s not above retreating to fight another day—his quirk makes running away an art form. He doesn’t rely on raw power, instead using cleverness, preparation, and an almost obsessive attention to positioning. His willingness to use tools like pepper spray in a pinch shows that for Kid Question, every option is on the table if it ensures success.

>>94707693Shit, I didn’t know that. I’ll just say Deckard doesn’t also. Enjoy the plastic though sounds tasty.
>>94702542Alright enough time has passed. It's time to determine which build can kick everyone else's ass, as is tradition. There may not be a lot of contender, but that's just less opponents to get through.>>94703800Very simple but solid Barbarian we got here. Rage this early in the game is a pretty insane buff which means he'll easily eclipse most martials who don't have their own methods of boosting their stats. Despite his low Wis he's got some of the best perception using Beastman's abilities. The moment he gets in range, the fight's already won as I don't see how anyone could match up against a Berserker in his element.>>94703833Very much all or nothing on going down the talisman niche as she's fighting for stats in both martial and caster categories. Not too much of a detriment however as tossing shit at range is a tried and true strategy and both the classes chosen were made to work with it in mind. Since we don't have many others competing at longer ranges she'd have to just keep a fair distance from the rest, but its far easier said than done.>>94705683Feels a bit unfair weighing them in as the same tier as the rest. I haven't been considering equipment as I can't be asked, but even without it they are a monster. I don't know how much the stats she's got are representative of the boosts she's stacked from equipment but either way it's significant. 12 points of attribute enhancement and double attack/movement speeds means she'll be able to strongarm Rex into submission in strength or speed. Haven't seen much of half-breeds though, I appreciate maximizing human's potential.
>>94707781>>94706555What seems like a bunch of half baked half leveled classes all actually comes together into a pretty competent avian. His stat spread is leveraged to make his skills on both casting and marital skills respectable for someone juggling two disciplines at once, and just so happens he's a good counter to Rex by applying status effects with his CHA difference. (Sorry Rex, you're just the stock standard to compare people's strengths to.)So in my humble opinion, the matchup goes something like Rex > Date > Sahaz, and then we loop around so that Sahaz is over Rex, cause right now it's like rock paper scissors. Sahaz can take out Rex using his pretty insane ranged proficiency and applying mental status effects, but I feel he would lose to Date in a ranged battle since he has less WIS and she has innate twice the range for throwing weapons. Date however has zero way of dealing with a fight that they are up close and personal as Rex is able to sniff them out using his Beastman perception abilities and track them down faster than she could retreat, giving Rex the win.And then off in the corner is Alicia who could sweep the entire cast off their feet but chooses not to because they like to watch more. Or maybe because I don't want to say she wins by default, who knows it's anyone's guess.

In general, she can hopefully make the school feel more lively outside of 1-D.Himeko and Imamu are the obvious suspects for interaction as well as the other students in her year. Nene could assist in softening some of her edges. Chihiro is a likely option for I think similarly obvious reasons, and there could potential for a soft rivalry between Takako and Hifumi due to their competitive natures and both being dead set on claiming the top spot. If Imamu ends up killing Floor then that could be a uniting factor.>>94706500>>94706576It's certainly a possibility- on the outside Takako is a straitlaced princess, but she can be impulsive and her ego will lead her all sorts of places. Getting involved with a revenge is bound to leader her to some level of delinquency already. Combined with her frustrations and a willingness to rationalize further delinquency as acceptable because I cannot be wrong --> I am doing something ---> Whatever I'm doing cannot be wrong. Because the Atsushi and Amahagene are both prominent families, there's also a decent chance that Orochi and her are already fairly familiar with each other which gives her a more of an in for convincing.

If such a swap where to occur, The object(s) would be "pushed" much like how Mirio's intangibility works when he deactivates it while inside a solid object.-Swap-Meet requires living creatures to be swapped as a single, complete entity, preventing "piecemeal" substitutions (aka Deckard cannot swap someone's head for a pebble instantly killing them--you are welcome), and inanimate objects can only be swapped as whole structures unless their separable components are clearly distinct and visible to Deckard.and the big one:-Swap-Meet adheres to Newton’s laws of physics, meaning that when objects or people are swapped, their velocity, momentum, and orientation remain unchanged relative to their new environment. This means:(1st Law): A person running forward will still be running at the same speed and direction post-swap, even if the new terrain is vastly different.(2nd Law): Friction, inertia, and kinetic energy are not negated; for example, swapping a rolling boulder onto a flat surface won’t stop its momentum—it will continue rolling with the same force.(3rd Law): Objects swapped into precarious positions, like a steep slope or midair, will behave naturally under the effects of gravity and friction, maintaining their previous energy state unless acted upon. This makes swaps dynamic but physically consistent, requiring careful consideration of momentum, positioning, and potential impacts during and after the swap.

>>94709344Thank you for absolving me of the need to update because given that I haven't been active in the thread for probably the whole year, and don't see that changing this year, I will never earn anything. Probably for the best desu
>>94709348Urgh, some of the updates don't contain the character fluff like >>94702250 so if I were to replace it in the list, that would be gone. Please try to include that or link the old version in the post with the new version. In general the character limit will probably break a lot of shit, and I don't have it in me to fix that right now, so expect the new thread to have some extra pages and lack images.

She would probably try to offer advice and stuff while politely declining any serious sparring. We've got quite a colorful party though.
>>94709408>she's still got x2 str from nephilim blood. The x2 only work for some stuff the stat does, mostly secondary effects, don't they?
>>94709395Ugh, the character lists themselves should be reorganized too because the class rosters shift. I don't have the strength for that right now. I added the new stuff to the rentry (unless I missed something), but it definitely should be reorganized, and I don't have the strength to do that. We're back to page 8, so it's not like we don't have time. If someone feels like it, go for it. If not, I'll likely make the new thread in the broken format in a couple hours, and sort it more thoroughly in a couple days when the situation stabilizes a bit more.

>>94703464>>94705062>>94706278Glad you liked it.>>94705118Bobby developed a strong boxing base before enrolling at Shiketsu, focusing on the use of quick footwork to set up strikes from multiple angles. You'd see plenty of dancing jabs and Ali shuffles to taunt and surprise his opponent while opening up opportunities to deliver his mean cross. While training under Impakt, he's gradually shifted towards more of a volume puncher, and outside of that he has incorporated other boxing techniques over the last year as well, such as the Philly Shell defense and peek-a-boo style to better adapt to different types of opponents. While not the most impressive student academically, Bobby has a great fight IQ and picks up martial arts techniques quickly. He's actually taken quite well to grappling under Ippon's tutelage, though he hasn't incorporated it into his style much offensively. He spent a large portion of the year significantly limiting the use of his quirk, which hurt the mind-body connection needed to really cement grappling techniques in class. Also, it's simply easier to do boxing drills during his late-night training sessions than to practice judo throws without a partner. What he has done is dramatically improve his takedown defense, allowing him to better keep the fight where he's most practiced. He also worked on takedowns and submissions with Impakt, however this was late in the year.Additionally, Bobby is quite good at reading opponents in battle, which has helped him pick up things from The Boys, Shinkan, Kaylee, Orochi, etc. Impakt Anon also mentioned passing down his Passionate Fist style to Bobby a while back, but unless I missed it in a writefag, I don't think that happened yet. Still, I'm sure Bobby has incorporated some kickboxing into his style after his internship.Bobby hasn't awakened, but he does get an additional Escanor-like power up at noon per the Tournament writefag. Otherwise, his quirk's applications are pretty straightforward.

I remember Desolator telling a funny story about meeting Sun Man once, but unless it was in a different writefag I missed, The Five didn't have any other connection to him. I'm assuming there was a mix up caused by both groups having a number in their name. Also, pic related is a more recent artfag of Bobby you could use.
>>94701140Have the day off so working on catching up with reading and tweaking the character to be more interesting. >>94709810Anon, there has been speculation/theory-crafting on awakenings since year one. Thus far, we have only had one character awaken their quirk.
>>94705118Ian’s approach, of course, built around his super speed. He's got a few years of Muay Thai and kickboxing under his belt. But his main focus is his unique style that leverages his quirk. At his usual speed (~400 km/h), Ian acts as a hit and run fighter, as expected of a speedster. He darts in and out of range, delivers a couple quick striking combos, and tries to get as many enemies to target him as possible since dodging is his specialty. His special move, developed as a hero student, is the Sonic Strike. He uses the sudden acceleration when attacking to also deliver a sonic boom that helps his strike hit harder as well as stun the target. It's when he uses his max speed burst that Ian makes a choice. Either take down his opponents the hero way or the enforcer way. The hero way is non lethal, going for more strikes, specially targeting joints or weak spots like the solar plexus or throat for air constriction. He would also look to disarm the enemy, dismantling their weapons or support items, and also try to immobilize them, either redirecting them to walls, poles or even the ground, or straight up binding them with anything at hand. When Ian opts for the enforcer route, all bets are off. It's the "go for the throat" option, at mach 2. Full speed blunt trauma to the head, ribs or spine. Break bones, gouge eyes, sever arteries, or even rupture organs. He would even use any weapon at hand if needed. His main weakness of course, is the 1 second that he must stop after using his max speed burst.
