>>94710164I thought I had a support role cop but I can't find it in the archives so it must have been the dream of a butterfly. Seems like a good chance to retool the character and join the new 1-D!>Just another story, Japan, Hero Student Freshman, Shiketsu High School class 1-D>1 unspent XP & 1 unspent QPK. KajōName: Koroma Kajō | HN: "The Time-Loop Hero" ResetQuirk: 「Déjà Vu」 — Sends the user up to ten minutes back in time! After reaching the point in time when they looped back, the time-clone disappears. The future is not set in stone; past versions can use future versions to change their fate. Background:KK's mother is a real estate agent whose quirk Weal Or Woe gives her a vague sense if an event will be good or bad. Her father is a pediatrician who used his self-targetting memory manipulation quirk Editor to memorize things with precise detail. In the mysterious ways of quirk recombination, their only daughter's quirk manifested as ten minute time loops. This is truly a bizarre world.KK is not the brightest bulb in the box. She can have moments of shocking insight, and often notices things others don't, but mostly because her head's not focused on what everyone else is. When it comes to the weird and mostly useless things she gets passionate about, she knows plenty. But when it comes to anything mundane or practical or academic, it all slides right off. A high C grade is a cause for celebration in her household. She never would have gotten into Shiketsu if not for the outlandish display she gave at the entrance test. Maybe she could turn things around if she spent less time on her hobbies, like ranked RTS and shooter games, and more on her studies. But it bores her to tears and she'll do anything to avoid being bored. That's why she's gung-ho about a Hero program, because as far as she's concerned the Hero life is all action all the time! And she trusts her quirk - too much - to get her out of even the worst scrapes. [...]
>>94710314KK wants to spend her time going on adventures and having fun, which she is just barely experienced enough to know is not always the same thing. She is friendly and outgoing, with high energy and a can-do attitude. She turns whatever she can into something more fun and light-hearted, transforming even mind-numbing chores into games. However, KK also has a poor verbal filter, and says what's on her mind, which often can be too blunt or ill-timed for conventional Japanese sensibilities. In the long tradition of excitable genki airheads everywhere, she won't even realize she's put her foot in her mouth until the dirty looks come her way.Stats:>Filthy Stinking RichA few years ago when KK learned about investing she began abusing her quirk to make rapid last-minute trades. Regardless of how appropriate it is to the situation, she'll go back in time and warn herself of sudden dips and rises that appear in her phone alerts. It's made her far richer than most teenagers and even than her own parents.>SkillsPeak Condition (Reflexes), Investigation, Sleight of Hand>PrecognitionTarget: Self only, by Touch, 10 minute future, CooldownHigh Precision, Alarm FunctionQuirk Definement: Only knows of one possible future - the one she lived through.>Versatile Quirk>ReplicationTarget: Self only, by Touch, Solid quality, 1 copy only, Image speed, Short DurationNote: 「Déjà Vu」 will automatically activate when Koroma dies or is in unresponsive crisis. In effect, she is unconsciously choosing from moment to moment NOT to time travel and it gets triggered when she mentally relaxes or can no longer avoid doing so. The time-clone body appears right in front of where Koroma was ten minutes ago, so she better figure out fast what caused it. Also, due to the cooldown, she can't start a new loop while a loop is ongoing. However, she can loop into a loop that already occurred, as long as the start and end times are different.
>>94710333I really don't get how that Quirk is supposed to work.
>>94710352It's just time travel, which is obviously the easiest thing in the world to understand. The copy remembers ten minutes of the future and can tell the original about it or act on the information directly. Then after ten minutes in the past, the future copy is gone. They blink out when they reach their departure point again.
>>94710352Ignore the time travel shit, it's basically just "summons a clone with a ten minute precog vision of the future" that can work automatically.
>>94710401Sure, take all the romance out of it.
>>94710406Romance is for people who can explain their ideas properly. Best you can get is awkward crushes.

This Quirk has come with an unhealthy obsession with technology and a tendency for his brain to literally overheat with overuse. While dramatically spiking his intelligence for 'hard logic,' such as mathematics and structural thinking, it has little-to-no effect on his ability to understand or apply abstract concepts.Desperate for attention, obsessed with clout and emotionally immature, Reiji has leveraged near-peerless academic grades to muscle his way into the Shiketsu Hero Program, forgoing multiple recommendations for the Support Program out of hotheaded ego.Unbeknownst to the faculty, Reiji's Hero status may already be compromised before it began, with certain less savoury debtees blackmailing the boy for the occasional quiet favour fitting to his skillset.

For one, having a humanoid circulatory system with his body plan makes oxygen deprivation a joke, with him being able to sneak around in the most cramped and ill-ventilated places with ease. His incisors have been trained to chew through nearly anything, save several-inch thick metal plating and quirk-enhanced materials. He can also burrow just as easily as walking, though the potential infrastructural damage he can cause mostly just leads to him sneaking around more conventionally. The downsides? He’s a 3.5ft tall version of quite possibly the ugliest thing on earth. As well-groomed as he is, he’s still not exactly a handsome fella to say the very least. His eyes are also extremely sensitive to light, to the point where he has to wear almost pitch black contact lenses to not blind himself during the day.
>>94710457>PersonalityMichelsson or Mick for anyone that he regularly talks to (which wasn’t much before this job) is quite down to earth in his demeanor as much as his stature and abilities. He likes to prove himself not through initial impression, but through his hard-earned knowledge and trained actions. He is initially quite blunt in his mannerisms as he’s mentally conditioned himself to not really care about the emotions of others due to the overwhelming experience of negative reception. Once (or if) the staff/students start actually giving him positive input for once he’ll soften up immediately.>Chosen Subject: EconomicsObviously there’s the benefit of teaching young heroes how to file taxes and whatnot, butdue to the nature of his work, Michelson has a vast understanding of all the damage that can be caused to infrastructure, finances, and the community with but the simplest of actions. He wishes to impart this wisdom to his students, and due to his lack of need for much oxygen, it's gonna be in VERY long-winded lectures (his record is 7 straight minutes of speaking without taking a single breath). He also wishes to impart how serious damage to infrastructure can be for the opposing side as well, what to target to cause the most damage to a villain’s hideout or plans in a raid or other such situation. >WritefagCongratulations and Good Luckhttps://rentry.org/h4xfatq5If there’s any contradictions to established lore (or if you have any criticisms in general), please let me know.

>>94710418The flavor matters. The time clone only knows what it experienced through its own senses and what it surmises about its experiences, which isn't implied by summoning a precog copy. >>94710516>One student has committed insider trading with themselves>Another is getting blackmailed to do hacks for villains1-D 2.0 starting strong for giving their teachers an anyeurism.

>>94710544I call 2-Deviants for the next class nickname.
>>94710443If you’re still looking for a fellow newcomer villain to be in debt to, you could be involved with Imamu and the Red Finger. Mochi is a nerdy kid turned quiet kid who drank the cult koolaid so he could be keeping an eye on hackerman at school which would give him an excuse to start showing up again. It's likely he got involved through Mythopoesis, helping them hack systems and get building blueprints and city planning documents.
>>94710333>Also, due to the cooldown, she can't start a new loop while a loop is ongoing. However, she can loop into a loop that already occurred, as long as the start and end times are different.I'm not sure if I get it, but to be safe, is this an attempt to bypass the 10 minute future time limit? Can she do something like send a clone backwards, that clone tells the other person what the future is, then that past self creates another clone and sends it backwards, and so on? Or is that blocked by that "can't start a new loop while a loop is ongoing"?
>>94710536Ah, but she's on the registry as a time looper. It will take someone with a brain to look at her and take a whole extra second to think about the implications, which couldn't be automated. So the arc will be at least a few minutes longer than you think!>>94710558No, that would be blocked. She can't go back more than ten minutes, period. What she can do is this:
>>94708283Mochi was a dump way back at the start of MHA so he doesn't have anything right now, which is why I reworked him into a villain when I came back. The real issue with him was his Quirk wasn't very good for interesting fights, so he didn't make a good main build, and I didn't keep up well enough to do the school newspaper angle since I was more involved with other MPs.
>>94710590Alright, I feared more like a reverse of what's in your drawing. So like each attempt being 10 minutes, attempt 3 moves to the start, spills tea to the version from attempt 2 that jumps a bit earlier, spills to the version from attempt 1, and so on.
>>94710463>even an even>of of the the cars>spresentation>call me know>on sight>A addressAnyway, I actually like all the cloak and dagger stuff and the ending was cute. There's a bit of an Incredibles vibe to it all, but the first one that was still good.
>>94710632I'll fix the grammar, and thx for the compliments
>>94710553Makes sense to me, I don't have many specifics in mind and left it vague enough to become essentially anyone, though there's some implication that whoever they got involved with helped them out with the money they needed to scrounge up their gear and possibly pull some strings to get them into Shiketsu, after that it's all shadowy favours and constant goalpost moving to keep him as an asset. If it works with Mochi and helps with the Red Finger plot, I don't see why not. It'll probably be great for drama once the students have to deal with them as well.

>>94710706>possibly pull some strings to get them into ShiketsuImamu has a lot of foreign interests invested in Japan, and political sway from the philanthropic resources has has to offer for helping the victims and fixing up all the collateral property damage (some of which he helped instigate). So he very well could have pulled some strings to get Reiji into Shiketsu. It would make him more invested in making sure Reiji doesn't get caught, too, since it could implicate his public persona somewhat. So Reiji would be in a position to beg more favors if he's in a tight spot.

>>94710884She retired long enough ago that I'm not sure Red Eyes Oni was born yet (50+ years ago). Odds are she'd fallen into obscurity by the time he was an active villain. My original idea is that she came out to teach because she got a clear answer on how much time she has left to live, and I think we could work that in here though. Not sure what you're cooking or how far along you are, but assuming you're still planning things out, it could be something like:>Himeko and Takako were out of the house together>Red Eyes Oni attacked (Maybe the two stumbled into an ongoing crime, or maybe they were his targets- they are part of a big influential clan that specializes in metallurgy. Lots of potential for motivation there.) He could either recognize Himeko or not- up to you. If your goal is to build him up as much as you can, having him not recognize her could help since it makes Himeko's retaliation unexpected, and therefore more believable that a powerful villain would be repelled by her.>Himeko confronts him and gets the partial petrification, but also wards him off (a living avalanche of metal swarming a guy tends to have that effect).>Her injuries combined with her old age mean she's not far from death, so she decides to go be a teacher with her remaining time.>Takako doesn't know exactly how bad her granny's injuries are, but she's furious and indignant that her grandma was the one doing the protecting, even if logically she understands why. That way it really sets up the revenge story for Takako. If you like that idea, you'd have some wiggle room for when exactly it happens. Could be a couple weeks ago. Could be a several years ago and it just took this long for Himeko to get that teaching degree / get the clearance to leave retirement. Or anything in between. Also wouldn't hurt to poke Takako anon and see what they think of this plotline.
>>94710463a very nice read anon, i liked it a lot
>>94711099Sounds like it would make for a good scenario. Being a few years ago also means she'd have had time to recover, and explain why she would keep Takako from getting involved instead of using it as a teaching moment (she would not have had a provisional loicense at the time). Red Eyes would have some Quirkless/effectively Quirkless goons with him, the sort of people with really lame powers like double jointed arms that he hires as muscle. That would also be around when Red Eyes Oni would have just started to build up his presence, creating or funding problems that would allow him to come in later as Imamu offering solutions. He'd have been arrogant off the high of conquest, and getting his ass handed to him in a pyrrhic victory on Himeko's part would have been a check towards building his more deliberate and targeted approach now.If that all sounds like a suitable origin for Takako anon to their Shadow of Evil, I'm all for it.
>>94711200Sounds good then. All that leaves is Takako anon's opinion and if they have anything they'd liked added to the scenario for their own uses.I'll try to give them a (You) for visibility >>94699401

I'm trying to work on the MHA update, but I'm confused about how the exactly it's supposed to work. I'd be thankful if someone can help clear it up for me.The tendencies I noticed:-We use the DLC (but we don't have to?)-We use the Sophomore type (so 1 less QP? Or do we just call it that, but take the Freshmen budget and the year difference is covered by that +2XP?)-We take the License, but we don't take Ahead of the Curve (I guess it settled back after earning that licence in the first year) nor the Internship (I guess the last round of Internships is over, so they technically aren't interns at the start of the second year) -We get +2XP to try to budget all the significant upgrades. The only freebies are some minor overall upgrades and the skills you did have scaling slightly better (or not even that?).Are the above assumptions correct? Have I forgotten anything? For Hifumi specifically, some things I'm stuck on in theory and when trying to get the budget to work (it's hard given that my last writefag was a training arc and getting new gadgets...):-Unique Style is now only 1XP. I wouldn't want to nerf Hifumi's overall Martial Art level, and ending up with 1 XP leftover would suck. Would taking it isntead as another copy of Martial Arts for 2XP work to show an upgraded Unique Style if the numbers ended up like that?-Gadgets. Weapon upgrades were minor, so they probably can still fall under "Gadget: Weapon". That leaves the wingsuit, scanners and communicators. Would it be alright if I mashed it all under one Gadget:Quirk or Transportation? Each of them is rather minor, and taking multiple would eviscerate my budget.-The conflict with Tomi would qualify for the Shadow of Evil, right?-For the Quirk Refinements and Definements, previously Teleport was strongly underpriced, so I just dumped a lot of points in it and then fluffed it however I wanted, now I'm a bit more conflicted, especially looking at >>94708579. Any ideas how I should go about mine?
>>94710116Our one and only true caster and by god it's a miracle, he's a healer. I don't think I can remember a single one of those in any run as most people run dps support at best if they go down that route. He's even further of an exception however as he's learned that healing is not as rewarding as the hurting. Unfortunately he's also our squishiest build so far, just barely behind Sahaz, but is capable of keeping it topped off with his magic and unique ability as long as conditions are met. He's a bit of a wildcard. Currently I don't believe he could beat Rex or Date at the moment due to their investments in martial classes as Casters tend to get the short end of the stick early and start steamrolling when they can get their build fully locked in. A fight between Sahaz and Lorg is a toss up. Equal WIS which makes a ranged fight on equal grounds, as even though Sahaz has ranged proficiencies, Lorg has far superior casting.Put him in a swamp and I think Lorg could beat Sahaz and Date pretty easily. Both don't have the vitality to outlast the tick (or leech in this case) damage, as I don't think they could do enough damage without getting close to Lorg's range, and he can heal up any glancing strikes even if they can. Maybe if Date uses their silence and maximum throwing range but it'd be difficult. Still couldn't beat Rex however, Barb is just the quintessential early game stomp martial path.Side note, Lorg definitely has the most clear potential out of any build right now. Rex is strong and will always be strong but in the end he'll always be a melee meatwall, Date is all in on talismans, Sahaz is a mix of martial and caster, so it's hard to say right now. Lorg's got their build already locked in with a CON caster which is incredible for someone who can choose to cast with Vitality as Mana is a bitch to replenish, and can choose basically any specialization to capitalize on their caster ability. Pretty scary, definitely future overlord potential.
>>94711679What makes you conflicted about the other teleport ability, anon?
>>94711706I feel like I should apologize for the glazing, I got pretty stoked seeing a very nice caster. Half humans getting a lot of use so far, never even thought about using it to nab Sorcerer that easily but I guess that's because I looked down on humans too easily.
>>94710155>>94710164>Broken Words (Karaburan, Rosethorn, Desolator): https://rentry.org/dfthyakcPossibly non-canon. This is partially proof of life and mostly just trying to write again now that I'm able. Apologies if I'm rough. I noticed a lot of dropped words when editing, so if I missed any rest assured it was even worse this afternoon.I realize the Karaburan and Desolator angle has had absolutely no buildup or hint in the past, so I gave it its own writefag. I did this because I have a role in mind for the bigger writefag I'm working on that was intended for Rosethorn. However, it just...does not work with her. Still, I wanted to salvage what I could of the scenes and remembered we had a retired heroine for a principal whose personality fits the role and whose backstory is open enough I could slot in a youthful indiscretion. Hopefully Jupiter doesn't mind, but if he does it's not a project killer to remove their history. This writefag is a direct continuation of 'If Only He Could Walk Away' for the new comers.
>>94711679>-We use the DLC (but we don't have to?)Sounds right. I think you're free to use whichever you want.>-We use the Sophomore typeI personally used the Sophomore type because I couldn't find a good way to spend that last QP. Originally I was going to keep the freshman budget. Either way we can probably list it as Sophomore.>-We take the License, but we don't take Ahead of the CurveI took License simply because it's free. Internships, etc. I think fall under writefag benefits that don't need to be expressly stated.>-We get +2XP to try to budget all the significant upgrades.Really I think it comes down to picking the thing you want to show off the most and devoting those new points to it. Basically I'm saying it's fairly freeform and you're not required to fit everything into the build. It's a showcase to show what you think is the most important changes. Also yeah, I'd call Tomi a valid Shadow of Evil.
>>94710164Happy New Years and first day of 2025, mcyoag! Just got home and found time to finish this to commemorate our first year, and our class of misfits and weirdos. I'm strangely proud of how far we've come. Even in the slow times when all hope seemed lost -- (You) kept us going. So thanks for all the chats, stories and sillyness, anon. We'll always be Class 1-D. And I'll never forget you guys. Now, onwards to MHA Season 3! I'll be in the writing / reading cave trying to catch up to all your kino.
>>94711798based based basedamazing!
>>94711798so much soul in one post… anons I’m not going to make it… I can never compare
>>94711679And I'm tempted to get rid of Somatic Component. It gives only 1QP so that's really little for how massive of a nerf I made it. Or maybe at least refluffing it to not cause an auto return on opening the eyes. Theoretically, I laid a groundwork for that with Trigger, even though I planned for it to be for something different. It'd be a big buff, so probably dormant until I'd writefag about it (maybe as an enhancement from Hiro, or part of that proposed conflict with the Legion).Speaking of, I never actually had the Connection and Location Limit extras because I wasn't sure how precise they're supposed to be, and it was just part of the broad refinement/fluff package. But dunno, maybe it's just negative sovl whispered in my ear by the devil of powergaming. Anon did call me one. >>94711730Stuff like no telefragging, partial teleports of others, pushback from teleport into solids, and conservation of momentum and such seemed more like the default than a Definement worthy. Basically the only thing I didn't have by default from that list was no altering the direction. Long ago, when I linked the update ideas, the ability to change the position of the body at extra cost was the most likely Refinement option. So, comparing what anon picked as "the default" and what I had in mind seems very far apart, and I don't know what qualifies as Refinement/Definement at this point.>>94711772>writefag benefits That's part of what I'm confused about. Are those a thing or are they supposed to be expressed by that 2xp? I've seen conflicted voices.
>>94711798I was just wondering where you were, Inigo anon, kino stuff as always!Poor Rosethorn managing this crew, and holy hell, is Kaylee tall!

>>94711798With the photo in higher resolution than in the preview, I'd like to amend my Hivemind Guessing answer. I think it's (from the left): Max, Faith, Hailey, Eddie, Minnie. I'm most unsure about Max and Eddie.
>>94711767Kino such as this! >partially proof of lifeGlad to have ya back, buddy! And fantastic work as always! The dialogue between Anzu and Rosethorn flowed great, and I'm always down to know more about her backstory. All we had previously was her rivalry with Midas, right? I had some plans with the red light and the Daiichi and will course correct accordingly. Basically, Three-Sixty and Turncoat Agency tries to use Chris to start a war between the pro heroes and syndicate underworld. I'm trying to rush the internship plot, so hopefully I don't step over the Saraki plot too much. I was wondering if you'll be using Smokin' Sexy? I got the hero raid on Area 91, and I'm guessing Chris would be pre-occupied, but I have the rest of the interns there too. >we always have the Inigo option, Absolute worst-case scenarioYou mean best-case scenario!Hyped for Grandma vs. Grandpa! Thanks for cooking anon, and thanks for the inspiration!
>>94711811Honestly, I could have made stronger “de-finements” for my swapping ability but teleportation quirk’s limits was so poorly defined in the CYOA (probably because of how many doors an ability to teleport opens) that I just used my de-fine ments to further explain my ability. I’ll probably make more overt nerfs or just axe my definements all together as I don’t really need the QP regardless.
>>94711859>All we had previously was her rivalry with Midas, right? Not with the UA mouse?
>>94711767Time to read and enjoy...>>94711798Oooh! I think I remember seeing a smaller fragment of this earlier. Seeing the whole class like that's great. Here's to another year of MHA anon.MHA's been pretty lively as of late. Been enjoying it?>>94711811Learning how to not auto-teleport back could be a nice way of showing progress with his quirk. If it helps, I silently removed partial absorption from my build, so you wouldn't be the only person to lose a drawback in your quirk.Anyway, I don't think expecting everyone to fully express their progress with 2 xp is realistic. It's a nice bonus, but you don't need to beat yourself over the head trying to cram a year of character development into two points worth of benefits. I'm a firm believer that it's a thing.
>>94711865Ah yeah that too! But have you ever seen Midas and the UA mouse in the same room together?

>>94711798"Cool hat"
>>94711857>Max, Faith, Hailey, Eddie, MinnieCorrect. Although now I'm not sure about Max and Eddie either cause these girls are always changing their hairstyles. Eddie would probably have short hair in the 2-D photo. I assume they took the first year photo right before the graduation ceremony for the seniors.>>94711866See ya in Class-2D anon! I dunno how I feel about losing classmates to 2-E and having the main class seperate. It feels bittersweet, but it is realistic. At least their friends and buddies will still be around for another 2 years. I'm sure Ashleigh's still part of the Wallflowers, and Imai would still jam with Inigo.>Been enjoying it?Absolutely, but I'm gonna need a seperate word document to keep tabs of all the new plots / builds. I do have an idea for a 1-D freshman too. I see you've taken up teaching, anon. Might make a custodian instead to help the staff out.
>>94711811Speaking of Extras and Refinements, I'm not imagining taking that Connection/Location/Somatic extras and then slapping a Refinement on it to decrease their difficulty (the inherited part from his mother's Quirk where it gives him extra detailed mental images, and it helps with that Connection/Location part (but doesn't entirely skip it, just that it works like it did previously) and is triggered by that Somatic element. A retarded idea or not?>>94711864At this point, I'm just super confused about what the baseline is. It's getting late for me, and I've been having too little sleep lately. I thought I'd sort of "cast the net" before going to bed to try to get opinions from anons about what a good scale would be so I can work on it another day.>>94711866And added Genius(Swordsmanship). Previously Chihiro and Hifumi in a way had the same amount of Martial Arts skills (8xp), just with Chihiro being pure sword and Hifumi being split between kendo, streetfighting and the unique style. Now he'll fall far behind :( Getting it to match would require some really weird accounting and getting the gadgets under the writefag tax, and even then the Unique style is now an odd number :/
>>94711979Eddie with short hair? Not Max? When did she cut it? Have I missed it or is my memory just failing me? I might be projecting the irl faceclaims. Eddie's and Minnie's are the only ones I don't remember with short hair. Max's had it multiple time, and it has been mentioned here before. Recently, Faith's and Hailey's also had short hair for a photoshoot.
>>94711767Fuck. Didn't expect that as a plot thread. It's pure cinema and I actively want more though.>>94711979See ya in 2-D~ And yeah, I'm sure the class's bonds will persist. For now we'll have to build up new bonds with new classmates (and new kouhais).Whether it's a new freshman or new staff, I'm interested either way. What kinda ideas are you kicking around?>>94712019...Yeah, ngl, I hesitated on adding that Genius bit for that exact reason. I like the dynamic with them both being the class sword nerds. I was just really at a loss on how to spend those points. I didn't expect the issue of unique style though...Also sweet dreams anon, whether you're turning in now, already turned in, or turning in soon.
Where does most MHA stuff take place/where is Shiketsu? I've seen Kyoto mentioned
>>94711679Bro, last time I looked I couldn't even make original Bobby with the new version's QP nerf, so I'd probably have to do some definement fuckery to make it possible kek. Maybe if I kept the +1 QP from Freshman it would be possible, idk. I think he would have a lot more XP than before, but being so QP heavy makes updating him tricky. I may just end up using the old version and slapping on Tactics or an extra stack or Martial Arts. A decision for tomorrow, probably.I don't think I'll be paying too much attention to the mechanics of anons' build updates outside of what the picks say about the characters' personalities/themes. The new version just affects builds too differently, not to mention stuff like awakenings and new items.
>>94711798This is sick, but I I'm only about 80% confident on who everyone is without their hair colors. Nice job, though.
>>94711909>I had planned to leave the war mostly in your hands Works for me. Most of it is kept in the background / criminal underworld until the explosive finale. Inigo does tell Chris about the Red Light though over the phone. Would he act shocked or scared? At least he already has back-up in the form of Kaylee, who's also in Osaka.>Not extensively, I think he can be there. At most he'll be scratched up with a few injuries.>Desolator sighs in your directionSam going through all this trouble to deal with Inigo, just for that 2nd paycheck is amazing.>>94712034I may have the two confused. I meant Max. I'm fully projecting the faceclaims here. >Faith's and Hailey's also had short hairThis is new to me, though I only look up the Koreans when I need something for scene they're in. That said, Inigo's fine with short hair dominating the hairstyles of the girls for the 2nd year. Now if he could only get them to wear glasses.>>94712101>What kinda ideas are you kicking around?Right now I'm just hopin' to finish some of my backlog, then maybe a Dorm Party. Could be fun to haze the freshies too. Or a patrol with a sophomore babysitting two of their kouhai? It's been established that we only have a handful of seniors now, right? Reminds me of the schools in rural areas in JP with only 1-2 kids left. We have like Nene, Stink Rat, and maybe four others. With all the villains attacks, could we expect a smaller freshman class too? I think the first few months of the school year would be Shiketsu trying to repair its reputation and gain back the trust of the public, and a lot of that responsibility would be on the shoulders of 2-D. Maybe through special outreach missions.
>>94710164Ok, since Michelson was put into Shiketsu by the Hero Association/Government. Who else was? I vaguely recall there being another teacher but I don't remember
>>94712101Glad you liked it!>>94712173>spoilerShocked is closer. >>94711767Can't wait to read this in a month.
>>94710333If something kills her time clone before the 10 minutes are up, is that loop considered finished or ongoing?
>>94712101She deserves it for literally living in a dojo. She was always the better sword user due to her pure focus on it, and when it comes what's commonly thought of as swordsmanship, her Quirk also translated better into it.If gadgets were to go under the writefag tax (I'm still not sure if that's the accepted option), and I took Martial Arts instead of Unique Style for what was previously under the latter, then I theoretically could even it out to that 12XP in martial art skills. I don't think Genius would work that well for Hifumi, but I could stack different Martial Arts styles to represent different Quirk variants ("the challenger style" he had previously for one + "the waterfall style" for the other). Theoretically, maybe Peak Condition, but it doesn't have the same vibe. Long term, Tactics would be more useful, but I don't think he earned that yet, and even longer term the Hero Trivia.Anyway, goodnight.>>94712149There were those proposals by Jupiter back when the DLC dropped, that doesn't work? Also, some Quirk options let you pay with XP, he doesn't have any of those? And yeah, Awakenings (or Awakening singular, since we only had one) and new Gadgets feel the most difficult to import. They are just darn expensive.>>94712173>>Faith's and Hailey's also had short hair>This is new to mewww.instagram.com/jeanzforfree/p/DD9Z3SKyeVG/https://www.instagram.com/jeanzforfree/p/DD9hBMEyjYl/>Now if he could only get them to wear glasses.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8QdQxABg3whttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33mO3jKYALE>>94712146See the map in the OP. IRL, it's a parking lot/cemetery next to Kyoto Women's University (pic related), but we aren't super precise with it. In my first writefag, before the map was made, I had a mention that there was a pretty good view on Kiyomizu from one of the school building's rooftops, which would be difficult given it's current placement.
>>94712349Now it is explained why Shiketsu is so cursed. It is built on top of a Cemetery!!! I bet they even left the bodies in it!If you understand this reference, you are old.
>>94711767happy to read your stuff again anon it was pretty goodbtw did you have anything in mind for what Desolator did to get rid of Zombie after turning him into swiss cheese and stealing his shoes?
>>94712420I don't. It only makes me think of the trope of stuff built on top of old Indian burial grounds but nothing specific. That means that I'm not that old yet, right? Strictly logically speaking it doesn't, but let me pretend it does.
>>94711752Brown-nosing to the healer before a raid is a long standing MMORPG tradition.
>>94712307Ongoing. I honestly don't know what happens if she's killed while locked in cooldown. The body sits around until the moment it's over, and past KK sees two corpses? Increase by the number of failed loops. Gotta be extra alarming to see multiple of your own dead body. At least when she dies an unavoidable death someday the loop is self-severing, since she'll always have a corpse return at the same moment a time clone poofs. A morbid but valid train of thought, cool question.Wait is this a Sandatsu red flag
>>94712580Have you heard the story of Biki?
>>94712597The Grappler? Yeah.
>>94711798Holy shit. This kicks major ass. There's so many great details and everyone gets some personality. My favorite of the many sight gags is the Hivemind being so extremely similar, but Sen always hits like a brick in a crowd, too. Damn impressive and makes me nostalgic. I'm going to color this for fun since it's all clean outlines like in a coloring book. And you know I mean it because 4chan made me sit through the 15 minute timer three times and I still sent this message. >Top row, left to right:Inigo, Bobby, Hifumi (taller than I thought you were), Kaylee, Sen, Nijimura (why so dour, bud?)(wait, is that Jugo? >>94712173>Good. We should get all the girls to make the food, just so the boys are left wondering what meal was made by who while the girls quietly watch them. I'm sure the guys' stress levels will be perfectly fine. Anyway, getting some interaction for the freshman sounds good. I believe you're right about the senior class being smaller in number. If we only get so many builds, we could go with the plotline that villain attacks resulted in fewer applicants. Same with special outreach missions. Sounds like a great way to drum up interaction with the adult builds without internships 2.0 or rampant vigilantism.>>94712182This maybe? >>94704250>>94712349>She was always the purist of the two, but that's what made the dynamic fun. Orthdoxy VS Heterodoxy kinda thing.Anyway, take your time anon. If all else fails, I guess you can look at it this way. If a newfriend looks at your build to use it for something, what are the things about him that you'd most want them to get right? We can't always expect perfect accuracy in other people's works, so think of the update as a way to show those kinds of newfriends what's the most important aspects of the build. For example, I personally think gadgets are less important because you can always find excuses why a character didn't have their gadget that day- maybe it's in repairs. So if a newfriend forgets about them it's easy to sweep under the rug as opposed to skill or knowledge. But that's just me. If you're deciding between gadgets VS, say, the challenger style & waterfall style, would you feel more fulfilled if someone remembered the former while forgetting the latter or vice versa?

>>94714057You don't.
>>94714034Don't really get it. Leaf doesn't give you an SAC, it allows you to build a WCI using SAC rules. The build paid for the SAC using levels too, so it doesn't seem that it came from the sword even though it does seem odd it's missing it's abilities otherwise. So she wouldn't have a class that just vanishes and leaves her as a level 25 when she loses it, it's a part of the sword's inherent abilities.

Im gonna laugh if Overlord dies yet again because the rules weren't properly defined and the power level wasn't properly decided. All the builds are equal examples of a Hero, its just some anons wanted to be on the weaker side and some anons wanted to be on the stronger side so they took better or worse items. The entire benefit of the two item thing is that you can decide if you wanna be a once in a generation badass or just a skilled adventurer dude.Ill make my build because I promised I would, but I'm taking the Leaf because its the only way to get a SAC at this level and SAC are the best part of the cyoa.

>>94714281>l make my build because I promised I would, but I'm taking the Leaf because its the only way to get a SAC at this levelBut why bother when it's a New World Inhabitant scenario? Not liking low level starts is one thing but just deciding to nab a item which is above every normally obtainable magic is silly. It works when everyone had one as Players and had Guilds, but we're normal natives dealing with kingdoms where having those is not the norm, especially in just one person's hands. Also I feel like people are getting too caught up on the term Hero. It's really just a comparison, it means jack shit other than you're strong. It doesn't mean you are a legendary hero, it means you're comparable to heroes in the past, which is to say you are not infinitely behind them that most people are. Not that you were implying it here but I keep seeing Hero getting slung around as a power level thing when it's just "hey you've reached the level 30 bracket"
>>94714317Because SAC are the best part of the CYOA, and anons said we can't take them without a leaf.I still think it makes more sense if you can get one at any level and 90+ gives you a second one. Also I really don't get why people are so caught up on canon. He's been around for some time, long enough that even he can no longer remember, and he has done some real good in the world, and does genuinely believe himself to be a hero. He sort of avoids the subject of being a ghost possessing a cloak and sword, since to him he is that cloak and sword. Some rumors call him an elusive Adamantine-rank adventurer, but he's not associated with any adventuring guild. He simply roams, seeking evildoers to slay and young children to either bring joy to or scare the daylights out of, depending on their reaction to a floating sword. He tends to leave as soon as a problem is dealt with, but in the course of dealing with a problem is generally showy and very talkative. His fighting style consists mostly of dodges, feints, and retaliatory strikes, as well as sudden repositioning through his cloak's [Dimension Door] (consisting of a dramatic flourish, where his cloak seems to disappear into itself as he shouts "The void of Coragus!" or some-such.) He's utterly lacking in genuine companionship, because most people can't stand the 24/7 hero act.
>>94714344Cause that just defeats the purpose of doing New World Inhabitant if we're tossing out everything about the New World. All this discussion about overlord reminds me of this. Its supposed to be a crayons run but everyones whining.
>>94714415Based idea, soulless execution. Why is the Leaf being used to create SAC's, who decided this. You make an item with the SAC format, it doesn't give you an SAC. I don't understand how two people ended up doing it this way, especially since they also paid levels for it anyway.
>>94714460?Its a WCISACThe item gives the effects of a SAC, not a SAC
>>94714444It's not really crayons. There was a run in mind from way back when that was held off because time wasn't right with all the MP's going on. This anon most likely isn't the same anon who originally promised running a low level Overlord MP but has caught people who were waiting for one. So you got people who want to play Overlord in the setting of the New World, and people who want to play it as the CYOA normally. Which I should say isn't bad, but there's just two different mindsets on how to play it right now.

Seriously, two different people, same mistake, I don't get how it happened.
>>94714481Oh wait, I apologize, you were actually saying the same point I was trying to make. Yes, it should be a WCISAC, but that build made a SAC instead as seen how it gives CL 10 and V+3. >>94714573I'm not making a weird assumption, it's how it's always been. You can look at any run, people just use it as a framework to choose abilities. This is actually the first time I've ever seen it interpreted like this.

>>94714586The overlap between people who choose WCI's, misunderstands SAC's, and are too lazy to fix it has been making a circle. I was going to say you could've used Alicia as an example of current run not doing it that way but actually, I just went back and looked and I'm disheartened to see that there's a missing 10 ML from all her combined classes that can only be explained if she did in fact use the WCI the same way as you.
>>94714604I don't think its a misunderstanding since SACs literally say they give ML/CL/VI get where you're coming from, but its not the most likely interpretation.
>>94714614There has been exactly two builds in any run I've seen who've built like this, and it's the two in this run. You're telling me the most likely interpretation wasn't what everyone else did where they just took abilities and not the stats, easily checked by looking into past pastebins and rentries?
>>94714604Alicia is level 25 aren't they, cause they had it as a full SAC including spent levels originally right?
>>94712952I'm just behind on writefags.
>>94714622I mean technically yeah. Doesn't really matter sense they took stats from the class anyway and stated they wouldn't change it until they level up to replace it. They are effectively Level 30.
>>94714619You're just going in circles at this point. They are clearly going by RAW not 'What other people did' since this has nothing to do with those other runs. Its pointless to reference them.
This could have all been avoided if the canon-autist hadn't shot down the idea that everyone could have one SAC and that 90+ Just gives you the second slot.Especially since were NPCs it makes sense that we can have one unique class like 'Lizardman Chieftan' or 'Bog Witch' or whatever. PCs are the ones who have to try hard to get them, we just are coded to meet the requirements.
The Overlord anons could not reflect on their choice of cyoa, so they lashed out against each other. This is a precautionary tale.
>>94714638It's making WCI's even more busted than they already are. Not only is it already an item that can only be rivaled by other WCI items, but it's also effectively working as an extra +5 levels since you're getting stats that could only be gained by choosing classes on top of it. And you don't even have to be using it to get that buff, it's just from owning it and having it on your person. Any ability that a WCI has can't be countered by normal means. If someone were to try and dispel Alicia's buffs for example, they couldn't because it's being applied through a World Item.
>>94714653I wouldn't have taken a leaf if I could just get a SAC.

>>94714665Overchud is destined to fail. A list of half baked soulless builds.
>>94714653Anon, blaming one guy for other people's actions is silly. People would have taken Leaf items even if they had SACs because everyone wants to be the most powerful, despite what that one another said because the only reason you'd want an SAC right off the bat is to become strong as hell. Also NPC's don't usually have unique classes. Bog Witch and such would just be our advanced races. It's not something that's unlocked to specific scenarios, it's just getting to a high enough level as a race.
>>94714653Shut up, retard. Those are the rules of the cyoa, it has nothing to do with "canonfags". You're just a loser who tries to cheese cooperative games.
>>94714638It's not RAW. It does not give you levels. It gives you the abilities of a SAC while you have the item. The language is unambiguous.

>>94714727I don't see what's so bad about that. People are forgetting we're at the start. Classes that you can't get the requirements for just mean you're supposed to get them later. Also not sure which classes they would be, only ones I can think of are advanced Profession classes since they need 75-80 in their respective skills. We're not supposed to be masters right now, we're just good at what we got. A level 30 Rogue/Assassin is still a really good stealth attacker. Also the only reason why no one's chosen the stat stick yet is because an extra class worth of abilities is infinitely more valuable and its way more time consuming to fill out data crystals. There's not a whole lot of options you'd actually want to put on that stat stick that you wouldn't have put on your accessories like immunities and whatnot.
>>94714751>People are forgetting we're at the startLMAO ask the KTHbros how progression works out
>>94714751Progression doesn't work. Especially since none of us will want to redo all our skills with the calculator not working.30 needs to be our final power level, which is why SAC help tie things together in a satisfying way instead of being disparate parts.
>>94714761Or Naruto, but still the point stands. If they didn't want to do low level then they probably should've jumped on when the prompt was level 100 instead.>>94714766Just because it's a bitch and a half to manage doesn't mean it doesn't work. Besides, we already got people trying to minmax the hell out of level 30 with getting end game items. It's like the same with that failed Dragon Ball run, even if you put a limiter someone's still going to try and be the absolute strongest.
>>94714761Tbf KTH progression would never work because we do not operate on the timescale it requires.Naruto Chunin run worked out fine for its length and it was able to do progression, albeit with a much easier (and better) cyoa.
>>94714738No, levels give you that. The item does not give you levels. This is your last response you're getting from me, because you already know you're wrong and are being annoying on purpose out of spite. That's pathetic behavior when you could be playing a game instead of entertaining yourself with pissing contests.
>>94714773>It's like the same with that failed Dragon Ball run, even if you put a limiter someone's still going to try and be the absolute strongest.Yeah that was me. Don't tell anyone but I cheated and my build was absolutely illegal. In fact, you can't actually get that strong with stacking those but no one ever called me out on my bullshit.
>>94714795I don't believe you. Especially because it really didn't matter much since it was technically legal due to nothing stating there was a cap on those, even though the idea of wearing 100+ power suits at once was silly. Plus, it was called out for being absurd.
>>94714795That's cause nobody with above 75 iq cared about the CYOA.
>>94714805>was technically legal due to nothing stating there was a cap on thoseNo question about that. But I inflated the amount of money I had by a lot. I could not afford the amount I had.>>94714806Trve.
>>94714818Honestly I didn't even question the money thing since you could dump your PL and cash in the extra points for zeni. Grabbing dozens or even a hundred morphers was pretty achievable even without cheating.
>>94714795Because the CYOA itself is dogshit and uses this retarded power point system that puts a natural limiter onto races for no reason. Why put in the effort if it's going to be bad? It's easier to wait until some anon makes Dragon Ball rentryslop than to use that shit in a meaningful way.
>>94714835>Grabbing dozens or even a hundred morphers was pretty achievable even without cheating.isn't there a tech that lets you fuse your items? you can make a fully legal omnipotent build with just the morphers, it's so retarded
>>94714858>It's easier to wait until some anon makes Dragon Ball rentryslop than to use that shit in a meaningful way.You called? When do I start, boss?
>>94714863Now. Make a SOVLFUL Dragon Ball Rentry CYOA for an MP and I'll give you one (1) imaginary chocolate chip cookie.
>>94714862Technical Integration baybee. RobotCHADS run Dragon Ball.
>>94714863You will die of old age before you'll be able to put out rentryslop that gives as many retarded options that the main CYOA does.
>>94714565I always included ML/CL and Vitality in past runs and no one complained.
>>94714889I'd be surprised as Overlord builds are almost entirely in pastebins and rentries showing their stat distributions so it'd be easy to spot. It'd have to be the last Overlord run with the near 30 builds for me to have missed that.
>>94714751>only ones I can think of are advanced Profession classes since they need 75-80 in their respective skillsYou get less skill points, but level 30 doesn't cap your skills at 30. You get 120 points to spend on top of the free ranks, getting 80 in a skill is doable if you focus on it.
>>94714766>with the calculator not working.Copy the code from replit and paste it into some other site that lets you run python code.
>>94714903I'm well aware, I just don't know what he means by classes out of reach. Those profession classes are the only ones I can see someone struggling with, or maybe something that requires both martial proficiency and spellcasting. There's not a whole lot which I can think of where it's truly impossible.
>>94714900https://rentry.org/overlordMartialAn example of one. I'm not sure if that's the run you missed. I also had characters in some other runs, but the one I could find for an older one was in controlc so that's dead.
>>94714889You know what, I'll eat my words. I went back and rechecked it all myself. Out of 29 builds, 6 did in fact grab proficiencies and vitality stats. I don't know how that didn't get noted during the run since people also grabbed theirs as just items.
>>94714941You have two options for leafs, SAC +20 levels of data crystals, or just 40 levels of data crystals. Some people did take stat sticks, maybe that's why? Or they just listed the leaf sac together with the other classes?
>>94714948Did another recount to double check, and the percentages of those who took it with stats vs those who didn't took me by surprise. 17 people out of 29 had WCI's in the last run, and 6 people who had WCI's used it with stats. The interesting thing is that most of these people used the same formatting in their rentry as eacah other, so I think they just followed the lead on whoever they aped it from. Definitely not a majority trend, but way more than I expected.
This shit is why I don't take WCIs. None of you people can be normal about them, no matter what your final take is.
>>94714653If you had tried to propose a rule change allowing a single SAC at low levels, that'd be one thing. Acting like that's a valid interpretation of the CYOA is just pathetic.

>>94712724>If a newfriend looks at your build to use it for something, what are the things about him that you'd most want them to get right? You know what, that helps, and not only with skills vs gadgets, but also with the Refinements/Definements. Due to how convoluted Blink was at times, and how bad I tend to be at explaining stuff, there was confusion about how it worked in the past multiple times. Keeping that mindset might make this my chance to help clear it up.About gadgets vs styles, I am of the same idea that the styles are more important, especially since the gadgets were basically made to support those styles, and I did include the modularity of armour systems in big part as an explanation in case someone forgets about them. So, I think I'll lean into those.I do think I'll also switch Unique Style into another Martial Art. Not only would that allow to keep it level with Chihiro, but having two "teleporter styles" as more formed systems means I can use them as a plot hook to interact with the new teleporter character (or characters if we get more, it'd be especially fitting for Freshmen), where Hifumi could teach him (them) those styles. It'd end up with Hifumi having 24 years worth of Martial Arts knowledge (I'm thinking 8 years Kendo, 4 years yankee streetfighting, 8 years Challenger Style, 4 years Waterfall Style), which by RAW is not really allowed as the cyoa states that "You can't have spent a time training martial arts that exceeds your age" but if I try to take an admittedly cheesy explanation that it not being in a single style is enough, and he was just able to practice multiple martial arts in parallel through sheer grit, hard-work and talent, then would anyone really mind? It also adds to the similarity/contrast with Chihiro, where she's an extremely focused genius of one style, while he mixes from multiple ones.
>>94715087I know this is a joke, but making a Dragon Ball CYOA with a robust technique creator doesn't sound too hard. MHA is pretty modular and lets you create quirks from a set of templates.
>>94715317>then would anyone really mind?nta but i think as long as your intentions are good and all then it should be finei think for some builds instead of 2 xp something around 4-6 xp would've been better for their update, since they have to split them between stuff like costume changes, gadgets and skills, but if anons are managing with 2 then all goodhowever my build has effectively 300 qp compared to the rest so its not like im one to talk about fair point arrangements
>>94715317This just sounds sad tbqh.
>>94710336You're doing well so far. Bobby is still pissed at Sandy, so he might look for him again after his last fight if he's not checking on Minnie. I imagine he'll be running off of pure rage at this point, since he drained himself completely fighting Orochi. Maybe he's wanting to win the finals for Minnie or after receiving a motivational speech from one of his bros. He needs whatever Shonen mental amps he can get for this one.For the fight itself, he's used to fighting quirkless, but Kaylee is a different beast entirely than those he fought back home. He's gonna really need to piece her up with the boxing kek. He'll regain some juice in between the fight I'm sure, but the day getting later works against him. I'm mostly curious to see what you have planned, since he's coming in severely disadvantaged. I expect you'll make it cool, so I don't really have any specific requirements.

I wish I was present when MHA was in its first phase so that I could be included in 1-D but alas circumstances prohibited me.
>>94715346Effectively, what I'm tying to do is sort of consolidate stuff. The gadgets I got honestly don't feel big enough to be worth 2 or 4xp. Scanners are there to help somewhat mitigate a drawback from the Quirk which is a sidefffect of an Extra that grants 1QP, so getting them as a Gadget:Quirk for 2xp feels weird. The wingsuit also isn't something that'd help as much as the examples from Gadget:Transport. So, I'm trying to somewhat push it under the Armored costume and the teleporter Martial Arts. I'm still a bit conflicted about it, but on the other hand, I've already paid 2XP for armor + weapon, and if before writefagging it, I had to sacrifice skills and the dynamic with Chihiro for the glider + scanners, I don't think I would have taken them. Also, like Saberanon said, for the newfriends, if I had to pick what the important aspects of the build are, those gadgets aren't it, they are just to help enhance the other stuff, not grant any new abilities. Scanners are there to help to enhance his skills to fight with his eyes closed and when rapidly swapping positions, but the main ability to do so comes from the Challenger Style. The glider is there to make the use of the Waterfall Style for mobility slightly easier. The communicators are so minor they would have probably been there by default, I just fluffed them more. The new wording of Gadget:Weapon, also makes it sound like you'd have a weapon even without if you took Martial Arts, taking it as a Gadget just makes it a higher quality or a fancy high-tech one. Altogether, mentioning those gadgets under the styles and costume seems like the best to go about it to me right now, but I am taking some liberties with the cyoa, so I get if someone would be against it.>>94715349Why?
>>94715416Welcome back. I think you mentioned before that you're still pretty busy, but hopefully there can be some things you dribble out here and there.
>>94710164Managed to shave Computer down to its fundamentals in a way that dodges the superintelligenge writing issue, but it costs a whole lot fewer QP. I don't know if there's precedence or trends for it in our run but would it be possible to use the Support starting budget instead of the Hero Student starting budget for Reiji? I like the idea that he's someone that should REALLY be in Support with an extensive mundane skillset and mediocre Quirk but has narratively strongarmed his way into 1-D because of his ego.If it matters, his enhanced skillset would still very much not be Hero-friendly and there'd still be a major narrative hook of him not really being equipped for Hero business but trying his hardest to leverage his skills anyway. If it's too out of line though that's not an issue, I just think it'd fit his style/fluff more and be more interesting to write than Computer giving him a generic mega brain.
>>94715435He's goading you, bro.
>>94715517I think that sounds fun. Go for it. It's not a strict reading of the rules but it's also not a bend so far that we're doing complete Calvinball. Others have done worse in builds, like double-dipping without paying the cost for Second Quirk or Versatile.
>>94715317>which by RAW is not really allowed as the cyoa states that "You can't have spent a time training martial arts that exceeds your age"Are you updating it with the old version or the new version? The new version removed that.
>>94715531The new version, but when I went for a quick check I opened the wrong tab... But that's good news, then!
>>94715512Thanks. Happy new year to you. Yes, I will be busy but I will not let that hinder me

>>94715517Just the initial budget or also use the Support modifiers? I'm not sure if it's very balanced because XP seems to be more valuable than QP since there are those XP options you can purchase with QP in templates. Have you considered taking some Refinements instead?
>>94715574Just the initial budget, I'd also be willing to just reduce the overall budget if that helps, my main concerns are simply that the version of his Quirk I'd be most happy with is relatively simple/cheap and the idea of - for lack of a better term - being a Support in the wrong lane fits what I have in mind for his fluff best rather than any sort of powergaming. If it's too complicated or generally considered poor form though I also don't mind just dropping the idea and tweaking the Quirk, I'm just not sure what to add to it that I'd want as broad superintelligence neither fits or is remotely easy to write.
>>94715625If you post the build, it might be easier to say if it feels powergamy and if so how that might be fixed.
>>94711087Not relevant for this run, but what are the chances you could exploit the wording on the Wyrm Lord (Dragonoid) class with the Shapeshifter class, to get a passive +8 all attributes and At-Will breath attacks?
>>94715730Maybe? Depends on whether partial transformation would count as shapeshifting or if that requires a full on alternate form/
>>94715658No problem, the idea for the alternative is decently simple, using 4.6 and cutting out a lot of the fluff because it's already been posted earlier.>CareerHero Student (Support Budget)FreshmanNew Class 1-D>CostumeNormal>General ModifiersGadget: QuirkGeniusHackingInvestigationPublic RelationsTacticsTinkering>QuirkName - ComputerType - Body EnhancementTarget - SelfSpecs - MindDuration - PermanentMethod - PassiveModifiers - Cosmetic Mutation (Cables), Quirk Compulsion (Technophilia), Quirk Definement (Overheat), Quirk Refinement (Interface)Instead of enhancing his intelligence directly, Computer allows its user to download, store, process and upload digital data, including software in the extremis. Reiji's brain heats up in proportion to the amount of information his brain is processing. He must interface with other machines via cables that reach out of his body. His gadget is a custom array of communicators and sensors that allows him to always be connected to the internet and interface with any form of wireless technology, but does not directly enhance or expand the range of his quirk.>Powerset IdeaReiji has next to no combat skills or utility outside of hacking into and manipulating digital infrastructure - alternating traffic lights, setting streetlights to overload, raising car barriers and locking doors, etc. he's absolutely out of his depth as a Hero and lacks many means of going toe-to-toe with other Heroes/Villains in a brawl but makes for a great Otacon-style sidekick to enhance other Heroes with constant streams of information and hacker-style support.Despite the Big Brain set of skills, he's extremely immature, emotionally unstable, arrogant and ego-driven, which directly counters his skillset and makes him liable to ruin his own well-laid plans when provoked, this is an intentional weakness.Should really be in a Support Program, refuses to because he wants to be a Hero for the clout and his own ego.
>>94715791Couldn't fit it on here but also considering +/-1 on Wealth/Shadow of Evil to represent him getting a lot of resources from the Red Finger but also being in debt to them for clandestine favours, not because he wants to be a Villain or has a good relationship with them but because he's out of his league/Blackmail.
>>94715791There's going to be somebody who calls you soulless but I'm fine with it personally.
>>94715791Sounds alright. It made me think how has he passed the combat portion of the entrance exams, but then I remembered they probably used robots, so he could have simply hacked his way out of it. On the opposite side of powergaming, I think that his Gadget could do a bit more. It's 2 xp and sounds like it's barely above him just connecting to his smartphone.
>>94715884In terms of how he got in there's the implication that Red Finger may have rigged things a little in his favour. Not enough to be suspicious but just enough to have their asset in the Hero course - he has no idea about this though and is being played rather than helped, he presumably just thinks he's that good.As for the Gadget, I'd considered a full suit that helps him with Overheat but I thought it was too early to have a solution to it, maybe he'll be adding that on through the year and we can just take the existing Gadget as reserved XP or maybe I can add some Cyberpunk-style super hacking computer as part of it to basically just make his life of hacking much easier and more convenient?
>>94715851>Soulless for deliberately nerfing his already underpowered characterSorry Alicia anon but you're projecting

>>94716611Today, the child of the legendary Sun Man goes by Bobby. Despite the hero family's sacrifice, the mother and son were completely abandoned by the hero system and left to fend for themselves. As soon as he was old enough to do so, the boy began looking for ways to support his mother—participating in illegal underground fight clubs, engaging in petty crime, etc. After a much more serious arrest, the U.S. government offered to drop his charges if he could get into and complete the program at the world's top Hero School in Japan.Despite his rough upbringing, Bobby doesn't typically come off as someone with a chip on his shoulder. He has a carefree, laidback personality, and while he didn't initially take his hero studies seriously, not all is as it appears. He has a complicated relationship with his father's legacy and the hefty expectations placed on him as a result, yet he can't help but look up to those who risk their lives to protect the innocent. Even if he doesn't openly praise his father the way most strangers do, his own choice of hero name betrays his feelings. And despite his undisciplined attitude, he studied hard in private to learn Japanese in preparation for his trip oversees. He's not exactly the slacker he wants others to believe he is. Coming into his second year at Shiketsu, Bobby now has even greater motivation to become as strong as he possibly can. He has a lot more people to care about—people who need his protection. And in the aftermath of recent atrocities, he feels he must put a stop to the monster his old friend has become.Quirk: Bobby constantly absorbs solar radiation, greatly enhancing his strength and durability and causing his body to glow with golden light while exerting himself. >>94716870I answered here if you missed it. >>94715356You're right that he'd be proud of getting so far, but he'd typically downplay it in front of others, and he is probably still too pissed at Sandy to be thinking in those terms right now anyways. Feeling proud of himself will be more reserved for a private moment of self-reflection once the tournament is over and he's had time to cool down. Confronting his own feelings is not his strong suit. If you want to include something like that though, and you think it'll work well, it's not like I'll mind. His feelings about Kaylee would he kinda similar. Emotions are running high enough right now that he's either pissed he's not able to fight Sandy or he's channeling that anger to try and win the tournament based on some external influence like I mentioned in my other reply. He knows his odds are shit going into hell on an empty gas tank, but he's not in a state to worry about the details. "Guess I'll just have to figure it out in the ring" is probably his mindset without me knowing what exactly you have planned. Hope that helps.

And now that they've both faced Sandy, I've got an idea for a writefag with Orochi...Her view on Bobby is that, while she's definitely impressed with what he has done, she's sad/annoyed she's not going to get to go up against it. Assuming she knows that he can only pull that one off once a day, then she'd pester him to a fight with it later, but for now she's not holding back. It's the final, the most important fight, and she wants to win. Not to the extent of "I'm just going to go 100 feet up and pelt you at range until you lose" because that's lame, but more "I'm going to hit you as hard as I can".Good luck, you're almost there!>>94716961I've met people like that IRL, who have maybe a few years of experience in a field, but because it's their obsession, they can outperform people who've been in it for several times longer who treat it more as a hobby. Never underestimate a special interest.
>>94717075Depends on who is offering and what context. Contrary to his clout-chasing, Reiji is pretty socially savvy and knows how to protect his image in neutral situations. Where he breaks is when not doing the thing would make him look uncool, especially to people he wants the respect of.Some random student offers him a drink? No way, he doesn't need the trouble. A student he likes plays the don't be a loser card? Absolutely taking that stuff, etc. The idea is less that he's gullible and easily lied to/manipulated all the time and more that he has some very strong blindspots from his insecurities.
>>94717238In this case, it's a meeting with his debtor.
>>94717264Haven't quite figured our their relationship myself but if you're up for it I'm looking forward to it. The best I can say is if he likes his debtor/is completely in the dark then he'll take it out of respect but probably do little with it, if he's afraid of his debtor he'd be more forward with taking and drinking/smoking it if only out of a carrot and stick situation where he wants to look good and also is afraid of looking bad.His need to show his best possible self to his audience completely overrides his own thoughts on things like that, if that makes sense. Whether or not he's a drinker or a smoker doesn't matter if he needs someone to think he is or isn't.
>>94717283Got it, got it, that helps. Thanks Reijianon.
>>94717120My apologies, I woke up late so I've haven't had the chance to look over the builds. But now that I'm here...>>94714346Ghost knight, I dig it. What makes it so interesting is that as a Ghost he's only got one real weakness to magic, but its more of Superman's weakness to magic in that it's something they don't have crazy resistance to. Anyone who doesn't have magic just simply can't do squat to him. Also since he's essentially using his gear as his corporal form, I'm going to factor in equipment unlike how I have been doing previously. To be fair however, I'm including everyone else's when comparing to him.Rex unfortunately can't muscle his way into getting magic damage, which means there is a 0 chance for Adim to lose. Date's got magic to deal damage to them and it seems like they got updated with an accessory with Hunter's Eye so fighting them with ranged is a possibility.Normally I'd give Date the total win here but with this modified ruleset of using equipment, we have to consider all gear, which includes Adim's impressive defensive set. Not only is he 50% harder to hit, but he's got movement to make it extra difficult to pin him down and punishes missing harshly with the damage reflect. Date's got the stealth archer potential with higher WIS, but Adim can close distance far faster than Rex if given the chance. The only difference that makes me sway the match in Date's favor is the fact that Adim has the most extreme elemental weaknesses so far on top of talismans debuffing resistance too, so using Light or Heat is a surefire win, pun not intended. Still it's not a certain match, I'd put it at best 6/10 matchups in Date's favor since ethereal form gives a lot of opportunities to travel where Date simply can't perceive.
>>94717350Versus Sahaz however, I can't see Adim losing very often. He still has crazy elemental weaknesses, but unless Sahaz' water heater functions as a holy water dispenser I can't see him being able to gain the advantage. If he had the last levels into Hex Maniac then it would assuredly be his win, but unfortunately against an opponent who's one giant Caster stat check his low level investment won't cut it.Against Lorg is an interesting matchup because despite being our best caster right now, his classes are more geared towards dealing with the living. His special ability and equipment couldn't scratch a ghost, however it makes me wonder how effectively healing a ghost would be at defeating it. Not sure exactly how healing spells are counted when it comes to elemental affinities, as if it's positive Lorg can shred Adim's health, but if it lacks an affinity then he doesn't have a lot of options. He's still got his impressive casting skills don't get me wrong, but it's essentially fighting someone several levels ahead of you since only one part of your kit is effective. and its especially hard for Lorg to outlast a swordsman who can go through any obstacle to reach you. If Lorg had more speed then he could whittle Adim down as he can heal while the undead can't, but when factoring in the DEX difference and all the other data crystals, I don't see him being able to win. Feel free to chip in with a second opinion though.Unfortunately going to put Alicia and Noxia's matchups on hold. Not going to skip Noxia but doesn't make sense to me saying how'd they fair vs Adim when I'm going to do a rundown right after and repeat the same thing. Alicia however is just difficult. I don't want to just shun builds but it's really hard to say anything interesting about the interactions because they'd just win all of the time. All her weapons are counted as magic weapons, so we don't even need to bring the sword into the equation unless we want a 110% chance of winning.
>>94717410Hold on, scratch that part about Lorg's equipment not being able to harm Sahaz. I was a fool, how could I have forgotten that a caster's tool of choice would be a casting focus and not a physical weapon. That actually does make it a bit more of a tossup as Lorg would be able to gain more suitable healing to compensate for the lack of leeching. Still wouldn't put the odds on him but it makes it more of where I couldn't see him getting a win to more of a 3/10 depending on if Adim gets past a magical bombardment and doesn't let Lorg slip away. Also I gotta find a way to better format these, every new person makes these posts longer and longer. Not that I personally mind, big fan of idle chatter, but it's going to become a nearly unreadable word wall soon enough. Oh well, not my problem, that's for future me to worry about.
>>94717432I really like the posts, as long as you feel like doing them i'll keep reading them
>>94717432Is it a bird, is it a plane? No it's a ghost, my brain just somehow slipped in Sahaz instead of Adim. That's what I get for not spellchecking, just like how I used fair vs fare, curse you past self.>>94714415Another half-breed used to great effect. How did I not know Cambion existed, and gave so much value. Arcane spellcasting as early as level 5 really can't be beat. Little bit worrying how many hybrids have been coming out of the woodworks to demonstrate their magical superiority, but hey, if you can't beat them, join them. Unfortunately though I can't really make anything interesting because giving a quick look over their build and thinking about interesting stuff an alchemist can do since they are our first dedicated craft build, I saw they have Caster proficiency 100. So, I really don't know what to say other that they'd win. I mean it's 10th tier spells, what do you expect. Even against Alicia it'd be an easy win on their part since Noxia only needs to complete the casting to nuke the opponent, so it's just her physical speed vs Noxia's supernatural action speed.I got no idea how they even got 100 proficiency at level 30 that fast, other than chalking it up to the WCI, but even without it they'd still be capable of doing top tier magic as their proficiency should still be over 70. This hybrid is more like a half saiyan at this point.
>>94717500I think its CL that determines your spells, not proficiency. So 5th level spells (45/7-1)Proficiency just buffs the spells you can cast to have better durations and damage n stuff.I thought it was a skill so I put a buncha my skill points in it, if its not then it'll be lower.
>>94717292No problem and looking forward to the writefag anon. I've got some noncommittal ideas bouncing around but I'm curious to see where this goes first.
>>94717500Stop the count, I forgot one crucial detail. Just because Noxia can cast 10th tier spells, doesn't mean she has any. I don't know what her caster list is, but I can at least assume it isn't 190+ and she doesn't have access to any tomes of knowledge laying about, which means it'd only be 9th tier spells she'd be slinging out. Still at a level where I don't think anyone could seriously contend with her, but not the absolute monster I originally thought them to be. Might actually make a fight against Alicia even more lopsided since 9th tiers won't have the insane ceremonial cast times, as even without the output of a 10th tier.>>94717521Also double correct, I was too stunned at seeing the proficiency score to think about that. Since it's a stat you wouldn't be able to put skill points in it, and that levels things out a lot more than I originally thought yet again. So strike all former mentions from the record, because I'm too lazy to go back and change it. I'd still probably stick to them winning against everyone currently in the MP as 5th tier spells are no joke, with the exception of Alicia as now it's a fair fight, or as fair as it can be between two monsters with their loaded respective martial and caster builds anyway.
>>94717500>they have Caster proficiency 100That's gotta be an error, right?>>94717521Yup, it's an error. It's not a skill, you can't just put points into it. It's part of final calculations: https://pastebin.com/ca44WPHz>Caster Proficiency(-ies)>[CL/X] OR [(CL_limit)/X + Attribute(s)/Y - 10], whichever is highest>Attribute(s): Add up Attributes of the same Spellcasting Tradition (ex. Nature(CON) and Nature(WIS): CON + WIS)>X - Number of known Spellcasting Traditions>Y - Number of Attributes used for Spellcasting>Treat X as 1 if Theurge or Wild Angel and Y = 1If you want caster skills to put points into there are: Mana Control, Knowledge (Arcana) and Spellcraft. The conditions for 10th tier spell are:>Having an Attribute 20+, Caster Proficiency 70+ and Mana Pool 25+ you're capable of casting one 10th tier spell.>(You'd also require a Caster Spell List size of 190+ to unlock a 10th tier spell or a Tome of Spellcraft)

>>94717723Yeah, I thought about giving Bobby two more stacks of martial arts, but giving him higher fight IQ seemed more fun and fitting of some of my earlier fluff. >>94718761It's extremely uncreative and goes against the point of what we're even doing here. It's a failure of imagination.
>>94718758>discussing Fate is a humiliation ritualConfirmed by a real Fateanon btw
>>94718784Unfortunately Fate tends to run outta steam if someone in a pair falls out of activity from what I noticed, and that causes entire teams to just fade out. It's a lot harder to discuss random stuff about it too since it's just fighting each other in the Grail War.

>>94718774Sounds based. The writefag was great so I'm happy to know we're getting a followup.>>94718784I know what you mean. Thread has this weird habit of picking a single mp to talk about. Kinda why I wanted to check in.>>94718803Being summoned to be someone else's servant, complete with the threat of being magically ordered to suicide sounds like a pretty humiliating ritual... So that's more what I was going for.
>>94718784The hobbyist writers haven't realized yet that writefags, artfags, and everything else don't matter as much as talking about their MP.
>>94718758Working on a relationship chart. Probably won't finish it today though, I'm a little busy.
>>94718811I really don't know. The only thing to really discuss is fights or possible alliances but my build is really only good for one of those lmao
>>94718831Writing, art, and stuff is what feeds discussion, so they're pretty important. Does feel like anons sometimes skip the important part though. (Discussion)

People act like all there is to do is fight fight fight in fate even though like half of visual novel is slice of life romance slop. You can write SoL stuff if you want to!!! In fact you should do it even if you don't because it allows us to get a deeper look at who you're character is during their downtime.
>>94718848>Writing, art, and stuff is what feeds discussion, so they're pretty importantI never said they weren't important, just that they weren't the most important part. Everything else only matters insofar as they fuel discussion, but the moment everyone stops talking about an MP then it's dead... unless it has MHA's momentum.
>>94718868You know, you're right. Makes me want to know how different teams interact out of combat.
>>94716565>>94715346>>94712149Your opinions so far have been very helpful, so I hope you won't mind me coming to ask for more.https://rentry.org/b9oaag82It's still very much a work in progress, and in particular the fluff is strongly unfinished and a lot of this I should rewrite, but I tried to explain my ideas at least a little bit, in a rambly, but hopefully parsable manner. In particular, I'd appreciate the opinions on the state of Refinements, Definements, the Styles, and whether I'm not pushing it too far with that avoidance of purchasing an extra gadget for the upgrades. Any other comments, like about the overall layout, are also appreciated, of course.
>>94718868Why can't you understand that the premise of Fate is bad? It's only of interest to fight fags.

>>94718868I mean yeah in the series that exists, but no one ever actually does it playing the CYOA. When given a bunch of options that only relate to fighting prowess, you get people who only know how to fight as a way to progress the narrative.
>>94718896lmao. Haven't heard that joke in a long while.

The lesson of the last 100 posts is that if you effortpost and interact, then there will always be anons who decide to hate on you and will use any pilpul to do it. They don't have builds, so ignore them. You post what you want to, interact with other active anons, and leave them to their own bile.

>>94718919Random thought, but I found the idea slightly amusing. After a fight in which El Adim got grievously wounded, his party evacuates him to the only medic in the vicinity. Cue the next scene, where Lorg, who's healing magic operates on blood and body horror, just stares at the cape lying in front of him on the operating table, which obviously lacks both blood and body to horror with. His expression exudes the vibe of "the fuck am I supposed to do with it" so strong it's visible through the mask.

>>94718884Damn. Really going all in on the update. Profile/backstory/family stuff was always nice to have... Honestly ngl, I don't have much advice to give. Most of it seems perfectly fine to me. I'm hesitant on the overcoming of his definement. I think in general a definement is something where you need to find a work around, rather than being able to put in more effort to force your way past it. They're effectively extras, so it'd be like someone with the Physical Enhancement drawback that limits how many attributes they can buff being able to buff multiple attributes by making it harder... At the very least I'd workshop other ways to phrase the definement and the logic behind it. Like you find another drawback that he can't overcome, with being unable to stay after teleporting being a byproduct of it.

>>94719287Does Tame love him yet? I kinda figured it was onesided him being tsundere and her just being his friend?
>>94719233Thanks.It seems that I indeed did not word it properly, or maybe the idea itself doesn't work really, so maybe let me try again (still in a rambly falling asleep mode, sorry about that).Think about it in reverse. The Definement is that the the mental image post teleport is unstable enough that if he opens his eyes, without putting in the extra work to make it permanent, he'll be sent back to where he teleported from, and achieving that is difficult. End of the strict Definement. Now what's just the issue of his skill and not the Quirk itself is that he just doesn't control his Quirk well enough yet to complete that task without assistance of drugs, so that's the default he operates on.When he started Shiketsu, he struggled a lot with teleporting others, and teleporting multiple people at the same time was beyond him. Now, as his skill grew, he's able to do that and the whole process is more efficient (but still slower than teleporting alone, and affected by familiarity). One challenge completed, now the new one can be trying to achieve that avoiding of return (somewhere down the line as a writefag idea, not right away, I'm just trying to sort if leave the gate open).Does that sound somewhat reasonable or should I get back to the drawing board?
>>94719339I don't know Tameanon's feelings on the subject but my gut says no, not at all really. They haven't interacted much at all outside of him being that gen ed weirdo she sees sometimes, it's just fun to shitpost about since he's a big robot freak.

>>94710155I may have an idea for something. How does the limit on refinement/definement work? It say you can have 4 of one and 3 of the other but is that purchases or separate bonuses/drawbacks? like can I have 4 bonuses but I can pay to make each one as strong as I want or do I only have 8 points worth total? Can I have two different definements that give +3 points if they are severe enough?
>>94719439Never cook again. The re/de-finements are already abusable enough adding arbitrary “extra strong” de-finements for an equally arbitrary QP bonus is a recipe for disaster.
>>94719351It could certainly happen, but I don't think she would consider it unless he started making moves. He's so awkward that its hard to even call him her friend even if shes putting the effort for that in.I do think they probably talk more than that though, shitposting online on quirkcord and stuff where he's most comfortable. She can match his bants, which is probably pretty hard to find at the school.
>>94719464The description itself says that you can stack them, I did not make it up by myself.
>>94719439You can have 4 distinct buffs of whatever you pay for minimum of 2, and 3 distinct debuffs for 1 maximum each. The number is set in stone but not the value. IF you pay like 4 points 4 times you can really buff up your quirk if you want something thats basically wholly custom.I don't think you should really go for more than 3 total points of debuff though, you coudl take more for fluff tho
>>94719347>Now what's just the issue of his skill and not the Quirk itself This is more what I'm talking about, actually. I guess what I'm trying to say is that "[X] is harder to do" isn't typically how extras tend to work (which definements essentially are- quirk definements are simply custom extras). They tend to be a harder restriction that simply say "You can't do [X]. Period." A quirk definement should be an issue with the quirk itself, not an issue with the user's skills. At most, I think you could get away with including the definement now while he's unable to overcome it, but removing it with an update once he reaches that point.I'd also be less resistant to it if he could only partially overcome the drawback- like if for example he could learn to split his teleportation between both eyes. Like he could teleport with is left eye closed and if he then teleports around by closing and opening his right eye, he'll return to where his left eye teleported him. He'd only return to his true original location after opening his left eye in that situation. It'd let him do a lot of things he couldn't do otherwise while still maintaining the rule-like nature of a quirk definement.
>>94718731It's fine, the only story line any cares about is Sandy.TL; DR his quirk is that he absorbs the quirks of anyone who dies in his presence and the more quirks he has the more addicted to gathering quirks he gets.He attacked the school a while ago and killed a student, now he's trying to become an underworld boss. That's about it.Sandy is the one with the blue stripe in his hair.
>>94718884liking the update so far, though i kinda agree with that other anon about overcoming the definement. While i like the definement itself i feel like the "staying even after opening his eyes" stuff could be changed a bit. it's based on mental images he builds, and you mentioned it not surviving the stimulus form opening his eyes. I think we can focus on this last part. What if when he opens his eyes, if there's a noticeable enough disruptive element that clashes with his mental image he is still sent back?for example, lets say hifumi has to teleport into a room to get to greenfinger. >case 1: He makes his mental image of the room with him it, uses his quirk, teleports in, opens his eyes and manages to remain there.>case 2: he makes his mental image, uses his quirk, teleports in, opens his eyes but turns out greenfinger spawned a big ass tree in the room, enough to make the mental image and the real one incompatible, and hifumi doesnt manage to stay and is sent back to his initial positioni think this way you get to keep a definement like "if his mental image clashes with the one he perceives then he's sent back" and it still has the growth regarding him becoming able to remain where he blinks to
>>94719524nta, but I like this. This is a great solution in my opinion.
>>94719524also nta, but the issue with that is that he needs an accurate image in order to teleport in the first place, doesn't he? Any time he succeeds in teleporting he'd have already met that condition to stay behind.
>>94719541thanksi imagine this angle would also help shape him into a proper top hero, since he'd have to train his judgement of both the battlefield (deciding which areas are safer from interference) as well as the flow of battle (because said areas are bound to change). and it could even make him better at rescue, since he'd grow used to noticing safe or stable spots among chaotic environmentsplus it'd also fit the *teleports behind you* meme
>>94719493I did the math some days ago and I was missing like 2 points or something, I don't remember the number but it was not much. I wanted to make a certain kind of build but I was missing points. The kind of build it is would fit with a hevily restricted absorption quirk but I know how hated it is so I tried making it without, it actually costs more with absorption if I did the math right. It was late so I went to sleep and pretty much forgot all my progress, I will try to make it fit for a while longer then switch to my backup plan.By the way, what does a 3 point drawback look like? I have seen some +2 one in the extras but I don't think there is any +3. I don't think the drawbacks I had in mind for my character were worth more than 3 total anyway.
>>94710155>Razor's Edge (Takako, Karaburan)>https://rentry.org/ebhgs8bfFelt slightly inspired and wanted to do a quick follow up (?) to To Break a Sword. If it isn't clear, the idea is that Reiji had Mochi go out of his way to provoke and cause an incident.

>>94718758I'm still debating over what to write about next - I don't really want to do another fightfag since I just finished Assassin v Berserker. And in-character Hassan got fucked up from that, so it would make sense she doesn't want to run into another fight or risk an assassination turning south again.Might follow >>94718868 lead and do a nonhostile encounter, since I like having other builds other than just William/Hassan interacting. Anyone interested or have ideas?
>>94719508I get your point, but I think we looked at different extras. There is a lot of them that require concentration or cause fatigue. In this case, I think the closest one would have been the concentration from the Healing Quirk, where if you fail to hold the concentration the effect will be cut short. Here the full teleport (as in staying there) would have been cut short and he'd be forced to return. The one eyed idea has been discussed some time ago, but I feel like it clashes a bit with one of my motivation for him to close his eyes in the first place (it interferes to strongly with the creation of the mental image), but I'll think some more about it.>>94719524I like this one quite a lot for the reasons you mentioned now and in >>94719568. The need to track the battlefield is cool, and has those counters of being able to surprise him.The only issue I see is what the other anon mentioned here >>94719567.What if I sort of combine the two? The mental image both has to go through the "internalisation" process and match the surroundings he'll come to when he opens his eyes. That former process is what creates the need for some time to pass before he can open his eyes, thus adding to the chance the environment will change. The difficulty of it is also what led to him not being able to do it before (sober). And I should probably find a better term than "internalising" but my brain is ceasing to work. I'm butchering my sleep schedule and should definitely put my phone down. But still, thanks a lot for help! If you've got any more advice, I'm eager to read it, but I should get some sleep first.
>>94719287>student customization modifiersIf you're a Support Type, Student Subtype I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.
>>94719604Arrogant little shit indeed... I also love it. Characters with unapologetic character flaws are always great. I feel a little bit of her frustration too. IRL schools love to include actually meaningless classes all the time, so having her bite back is a little cathartic. Excellent work.
>>94719688You know, fair point. I suppose there are extras like that too. Also looking forward to where you go with the other anon's idea (ngl, I'm not entirely sure what you mean yet). Sleep well anon. Let's continue this next time.
>>94719689For Supports, the Student Option isn't so much a type (as let's say Cop), as a modifier, so it's not exclusive with other options really. Especially egregious would be doing that and then grabbing the Student type like Senior for extra xp. Also, for the Support student option, the description points to students outside of the Hero Course for whom the Student Customisation Modifiers are.
>>94719689nta, but he could also just list the rival drawback as a joke and not gain points from it. Should all be good as long as he doesn't benefit from it, right?
>>94719594A 3 point drawback would be worse than taking Disability but not as bad as taking Disability with Poverty. There's no concrete guidelines.
>>94719719I agree with this anon. Taking support just to maximize XP and also being able to take student modifiers just because you picked up [STUDENT] for free is just asinine levels of power gaming.
>>94719669Hmm... Well I want to say that Addy-anon was thinking about taking on the role of the person that broke into Hassan and William's base. That could chain into some SoL. If we're shilling for builds I we like, I always like the Griffith/Raim pair, and Griffith is such a ball of sunshine that William would likely opt for an alliance.I'd offer up my own group, but they appeared in a Hassan/William writefag not that long ago.

>>94710164I can get the powerset I want with two completely different quirks than what I wanted to use. I had a whole plot already planned and this completely ruins it. The alternative is writing a whole novel to eplain how my character got here, I may just do that at this point.
I'm loving the engagement with my prompt, but I would like the name of the build, unless you wish for the question to be a random student, please include the name. I can assume some, like Dust Devil but I need names poeple!

>>94718884I'm not able to read this right now, but I trust you're building in a good faith attempt to make things more interesting, which is what I personally care about the most. I can give my thoughts tomorrow on the execution of your ideas, but it's probably fine.

I still don't know what the [+] modifiers do for Magic Circuits? The option seems unneeded.
>>94721166makes em magicier but only sometimes
>>94719710>(ngl, I'm not entirely sure what you mean yet)I still don't have it worded properly, but the idea is basically "two drawbacks for the price of one" so that together they are hopefully enough of detriment. There are two conditions that must be met for him to not return when he opens his eyes:1. [What the anon proposed >>94719524]: when he opens his eyes after teleporting, there must be no significant differences in his surroundings from his mental image.2. [Based on my initial idea]: if he wants to stay after teleporting, then keeping the mental image until he opens his eyes is not enough, after the teleport, while he still has his eyes closed he needs to through a process of reinforcing/ internalising/restabilising/solidifying (I don't have a good term for that yet) that mental image, which is difficult, and takes time and concentration.Part 1 is not overcomeable, gives people a chance to counter it, and limits what he can do with it because not only does he need an area safe from interference, he himself needs to be basically stationary before the teleport (because of conservation of the momentum), and between the teleport and opening his eyes, or his own position would have been a noticeable difference. But there is the issue of >>94719567. If he could instantly open his eyes, then it'd be difficult for the environment to change in that time, and he could instantly fulfil that condition.Part 2 is to resolve that, and to explain why he wasn't able to do it without drugs yet. It adds a skill check to it, which he wasn't able to pass yet, and even when he becomes able to do it, it will be a drain on him, and most importantly it forces a period of time between his teleport and opening his eyes, during which the surroundings might change and force him to return due to Part 1.Does this feel like the right direction?
I think you're probably overjustifying this. There is no set of behaviors or sequence of actions you can take that will make it so you have no critics. Please yourself and do whatever you want to do.
>>94722630it does feel better. Focusing on how his quirk revolves around mental images could be good, because you wrote that the mental image can be formed by seeing a place, knowing about it, etc but also from descriptions and interviews if they're detailed enoughso what if, when he teleports and opens his eyes, there's a very brief window where in his perception the mental image overlaps with the one he's seeing. the location doesn't have to absolutely match, since his first refinement was about "filling the gaps". but still, there's only so much this refinement can do, and big enough disruptions still make the mental image+perceived image overlay fail, and that's when he's sent back
>>94722869That'd work as the explanation of the changes needing to be "significant". After all, you'd likely never get 100% match because no way in hell you'd know the position of every hair and stuff like that. I'm not sure how detailed I want to go into what significant means, and that might be a somewhat trainable part. Something like a tree sprouting will always cause it to fail, but if someone moves 1cm is that supposed to be enough for it to fail? I feel like stuff like that might be best left vague and maybe just dumped onto the part of how well reinforced the image was.
>>94722962yea leaving it vague is the right call, just using common sense and not overthinking it>>94722763talking about quirks is fun though
