Hey I'm pretty new and have a question (MTG Arena)I was in a match right now with the opponent's combat phase ending.I had an instant in hand and enough mana available to cast it. I assumed that I would be able to cast it (or get a prompt to do so if I want to) after combat ends, but instead his combat phase ended and his turn ended right away (because he was tapped out and had no other actions left to do) without giving me the chance to play my instant after his combat had ended.Is it supposed to be that way? I thought I'd always get a chance to play an instant during the second main phase even if the opponent does nothing in it.
>>94723855You do, and you should have. Priority is passed between both players every single phase and every single sub-phase. Arena probably shortcuts this for the sake of speed and simplicity. You might need to press the hold button, I think it's CTL by default, and Shift+CTL holds it forever until you turn it off. You can also click on the phase symbols in the bottom right, which will create a "stop" at that phase. Either of these methods will make the game pause and ask you to move between phases.
