What are the implications of this
>>94726677Love. The implication is love man. Something we all hope to have someday.
>>94726677Interspecies romance is immoral on Bloomburrow.
>>94726574Dimir Control.
>>94726677There are none.
>>94726677The otter and the toad fuck. Something usual at Bloomburrow
>>94726677That you could get a cute girl too, if you weren't wasting away here.
>>94726574>Most recent deck you built/played?grixis frog twin 4-0'd the shop weekly>2-1 boros energy>2-0 wizard twin>2-1 storm>2-0 oculus frog
>>94726826how did the twin matchup go? I was under the impression that wizard twin with the blue flare was good
>>94726574currently trying to make a dredge deck with pic related work at pio.
>>94726702But who's penetrating who
>>94726878the insidious part of insidious roots is actually a meta joke about how it constantly makes players try to find the brew that breaks it (they never do)
>>94726800>That you could get a cute girl tooWe both know that's not true
How far back does MTG need to revert its rules to make the game not shit? For me it's Sixth Ed rules set.
>want to play modern decks to play with the new format >lol expensiveSame as it ever was
>>94726910Funny. I started with 6E but people have complained about 6E rules changes fucking up Magic in these very threads. I guess "interrupt" is their Shibboleth.
>>94726910Changing the rules back won't remove the FIRE design and the UB.
>>94726800But I want to be the girl
>>94726941proxy everythingor play online, which is what i'm doing since there's no place near i can play paper
>>94726834i spammed thoughtsieze at him and hit him with a frog until he died. turns out you can giga punish flame of anor with 'i make my frog 6 toughness also cast orcish bowmasters while flame is on the stack'.
>>94726910>>94726968No but I would like trample rules to stop changing every time there's a rules update. *grumbles*
dunno what makes me more angry, the fact they took this long to fix standar, or that in 6 months standar will be ruined forever
>>94727976>FixHow did they do that?
>>94727985Foundations
>>94727985by filtering doomers like you
>>94727976In response, I cast This Town Aint Big Enough on this post, returning Stormchaser's Talent to my hand
Aight so since I didn’t make it into the standard 10k tomorrow let me share a word of advice to my fellow red mages: everyone is playing the >>94728036Stormchaser’s talent fotm deck. Sideboard Urubrasks forge and case of the crimson pulse, they beat it.Avenge me bros
Bloomburrow novels now
I want to go back
New MTG Goldfish video was funny.Seth won a match playing hammer time where he kept zero lands and beat his opponent. He also won the modern league.I love hammer time, but I can't afford moxes
my lgs barely does mtg events anymore.not even fnm. they just do saturday commander and once a month we have legacy.
>>94728115just read Redwall. it's better than anything the wotc hacks would write.
how many of you still play paper
Ban Mutavault from Pioneer. This overpowered utility card that has suppressed 3 color decks for too long, and is busted with Unholy Annex. Would also randomly nerf mono W, and desu Thaliafags deserve it.
I miss Duskmourn draft so much. Foundations sucks as a format.
>>94726619How did so many planes discover combustion yet none of them thought to weaponize it
>>94728122Play pre-modern, hit the weights and get a clue.

I want Delirium to be competitive outside of Modern so much...I want more Delirium after DSK.

When are we going to get more spoilers for Innistrad remastered?
>>94729429Better:Aetherdrift spoilers fucking when?
>>94729452>Aetherdrift spoilers fucking when? You actually looking forward to that set?
>>94729523Unironically yes.
>>94729523Ironically yes.
>>94726574>Most recent deck you built/played?STAX.Also how do I play stax without hurting peoples feelings?
>>94729364Well my point was that you should look for your local print shop, and see what they have to offer. Not pay for chinkshit.
>>94726900The card is retardedly strong, the problem is that decks don't just casually want to do what the card wants to do. It's like if they printed Cranial Plating into Pioneer or something; the cards to break it simply aren't there.
def name creature against sultai because of OBM, right
wait but timewalk is banned in legacy
>>94729644>I cast Time Walk.>Sir, this is a Wendy's.>Resolves? Walk turn
>>94729551>>94729560Shills.
>>94729639i actually just checked his list, you name instant because of 2x assassin's trophy
>>94729671Shill doesn't man what you think it means.
>>94729633The problem is you can't find Roots consistently enough for it to be good. If you take a turn off to Cache Grab for it first, you're already dead vs red, or your opponent will have established some retarded draw engine like Enduring Curiosity/Kaito/Unholy Annex/Caretaker's Talent/Beanstalk that then locks your Scavenging Ooze/Adept/Tyvars out of the game. The deck needs a plan B, like Soul Cauldron, but there's nothing good to pair with it like Priest of the Forgotten Gods in Standard.
>Kibler gets turned 4'd by RDW in back to back games despite playing 2 mana 3/3s and 3 mana reach 4/4sbravo Wizards, why should Green get to block?
>>94729717this is what i was fucking saying in this thread for weeks and some moron was telling me to get good
>>94729717Fuck Green.
>emrakul spiking to 20+ tix on mtgo>when it's literally getting reprinted THIS monthI'm dumping my playset right fucking now
>>94729717Its actually comical how hard green sucks.
>>94729755do it
>>94729429If it was similar to the last remastered set, then spoilers would have been last month. My thinking is on next week. That'll make the reveals be about a couple of weeks before the release, and it'll get that out of the way before the story for Aetherdrift starts on the 10th.>>94729452Might be some in the story, but the official date they start is the 21st.
>>94728410Cannons exist for things like warships. Guns will never exist because the art design director is a total coward
>>94729523It's like a car crash in slow motion: i wanna see it if one happens near me but not participate in it

>>94730233that's not an auras deck that's a boggles deck
How we can make people to stop playing Red? We need another color just to bully Red into oblivion.
>>94730268What is the difference? All them run Light Paws and Sram and all the auras.
deathtouch shouldn't work against artifact creaturesthey're not alive, they can't 'die' a single poisonous sting from 1/1 Phyrexian Battlefly is not going to have any effect on a giant robot like Depth Charge Colossus!!!!
>>94730294So you want this effect?
>>94730289
>>94730294magic shouldnt have robots in first place.is a magic setting.
>>94730294It's the twelve squirrels conundrum.

>>94728199I have my first cards on the way but no idea when I'll actually get to play. Only store anywhere near me has some of the most insufferable people I've ever met so not a chance in hell I'm gonna learn the game with them
>>94730309What if the robot holds a wand
>>94729569once you are at the level of building stax you can't be worried about anyone's feelings. it's a purely hostile way to play. you suck all the game actions out of the room.
>>94729301i loupe every deck i play against in any sanctioned event.better have a good excuse lined up.
Why wasn't it unbanned?
>shuffle deck, draw a land next>two lands in opening hand, no third land for 5 turns>add new card into deck, draw it in opening hand>opponent is never land-flooded/droughted
>>94730833Really? That shit can't be unbanned before Deathrite Shaman, Rite of Flame, Punishing fire, Jitte and Bridge from BelowWe already have enough Affinity with Opal.
>>94729755probably why it spiked since it will see meta play in the following months
>>94730294I think a lot of cards that target creatures end up being a flavor loss against artifact creatures. Go for the throat being among the dozen cards to care as an excuse to make a cheaper murder is maddening to me.
>>94730833multiple reasonsnondeterministic and eats up a lot of time like eggsextremely cryptic for new players because it abuses very specific timing restrictions involving the process of paying costs while casting a spellit's extremely gay
>>94730833everything shits out tokens today and all tokens are artifacts for some reason today
>>94729847I did a few hours ago got 76 tix for it, I think I originally bought the playset for like 20 tix>>94730868I can understand spiking a little bit, it is posting results, but every reprint set gets drafted to death on MTGO, the innistrad remastered reprint is gonna cost less than 5 tix in a few months
>>94730823>it's a purely hostile way to play.I don't get it? Because Trinisphere affects me too.
>>94730290Auras stack auras on any old creatureBoggles stacks buffs of all kinds on a Hexproof creature that's hard to remove
>>94726878>Golgari card>Selesnya flavor text>horrendous deep fried art (AI?)I'm so happy I stopped playing this shit.
oko steal your informant and mill you out with leyline in play is apparently a thing that can happen
>>94730294Black removal used to not affect Artifacts! #tmyk
>>94730305Is that a fucking gun in my fantasy game?
>>94731249Yeah but that stopped being a thing in 7th, and the game before that isn't really mtg.DARK BANISHING
>>94730294deathtouch is 'magical', it's always disproportional
>>94731123because it stops the game from happening. instead of moving forward you're standing still or moving backwards. progress is replaced with stagnation. it's less exciting and has fewer interesting decisions. I'm an old head so I get it, but I also see why most people don't want to play a game where you don't play the game
>>94726574This game is not about magic anymore.Suck techno dick, nerds.
>>94731293that concept held on a little longer than that, and you have it backwards: only the game before then is really mtg. what comes later is a twisted parody
>>94731215In Legacy I've had people reanimate my spy and mill me without a leyline and give the win because of it.

>>94731719I have one of those. I found it in Hareruya bulk.
>>94731744Is there a reason you went mono blue instead of simic?
How crazy would be a Uro unban considering nowadays powerlevel?
>>94731744go to >>94728464
>>94732014
>>94732010I wonder if Uro in standard could shake up the format to the point black and red wouldn't be the best decks
Why don't WotC just print cards from back when Standard was good???
>>94732080because those cards suck now
>>94732010Uro and Oko made babies cry.Today Red and Black dominate the game and i don't see any faggot screaming like they did at that time.
>>94732010Considering how strong Phlage is in modern, Uro would definitely still be a powerhouse
>>94732085Imagine telling people not just that you take it up the ass, but that your ass leaks afterwards.
>>94732010I don't think it would affect the meta much, the format is balanced around frog, energy and different flavors of combo decksunless frog finds a way to adapt uro into the deck, there isn't an archtype that suddenly becomes top tier because of uro
>>94732080Because they extended rotation like morons and they can't make lower power sets without older sets that are still going to be around for 2+ years dominating the format.
>>94732098phlage is strong because it's in the correct colors, 99% of the reason phlage sees as much play as it does it's because of how it interacts with arena of glory, which can't cast uro
>>94732010Uro can be safely unbanned even in Pioneer and his impact would be very little considering the actual meta. We are not talking about a Winota or a Inverter, even Kroxa is used merely as a singleton and in very few decks.
>>94732102Imagine thinking of all that on your own and still telling people you're heterosexual.
>>94732131JUST LOOK AT THIS WEAK CARD BACK FROM WHEN PEOPLE ENJOYED STANDARD, ANONURGH THIS WOULD NEVER SEE PLAY NOW :/!!!
>>94732156If you could close your gaping asshole you could come play pauper with all the cool kids, but you'd have to leave the closet first because we're all openly homosexual.
>>94732156>Sorcery>Doesn't affect the board>Only replaces itself Yeesh. Why would I tap out for this on turn one?
>>94732156>1 mana do nothing Nice card lmao, meanwhile I'm killing people turn 2/3 in red
>>94732093people get used to the bad times when they see marginal improvementssee also: the road situation across every major American/Canadian town. ~25 years ago they were built with no plans on upkeep, now that due date is hitting the county wallets hard. All while the cities are unlivable and downtown is still bulldozed over to make space for a highway
>>94731999Honestly I just like the art for the commander and thought it had good synergy. I know mono limits options but I thought it was cool.
>>94732156>Cast leyline>Cast goblino turn 1>Meanwhile fag cast this>I killed him at turn 2Nice turn one bozo.
>>94732207>Ponder is banned in Modern because... IT'D JUST BE BAD OKAY?!?!?!?
>>94732203oh, and the marginal improvement that i forgot to mention is that they're building one more lane on every highway, as if that solves traffic
>>94732024Will do, thanks!
>>94732212>bans that help noobs avoid bad cardsthat's actually a cool concept
>>94732225>Ponder is le badThis is how far people are willing to go in order to either 1) defend their dumb opinions, or 2) troll.
>>94732260>people sometimes jokewow what a concept, if only you weren't too autistic to differentiate jokes from true opinionsalso, one or two examples don't counter a wider statement, that's what we in the biz call "anecdotal evidence". Ponder is good, but for every card like Ponder or Mana Leak there's twenty cards like Coral Merfolk or Assault Griffin.
>>94732299Are you arguing that printing Assault Griffin would make Standard worse or something?
>>94730514>my first cards on the way>learn the gameWhy would you be buying cards if you don't even know how to play
balatro is easy, just play two pairs
>>94730972Food, blood, and maybe clue tokens tokens probably shouldnt be artifacts but at this point I it's for the best all these stupid tokens are uniform this game is hard enough to keep track of
>>94732308it won't make it better is my pointwho cares about ass bird when [pushed mythic rare bomb] exists?
>>94731588They should I have brought back nightstalkers for capena or thunder junction
>>94732404At this point you're arguing that WotC shouldn't print any cards unless they're tournament staples. Shut up, you're just gay.
>>94732425>WotC shouldn't print any cards unless they're tournament staplesYes, and those staples should be reprinted. But also, [pushed mythic rare bomb] should've never existed in the first place. That is also my argument.
>Solos entire games better than Sheo>Sustains life totals better than Ripper>More value than FablexD nothing personnel kiddoo
>>94732010Uro would have zero (0) impact on Pioneer right now.
>>94732563it would have the impact of making the format more fun, I miss sultai delirium so goddamn much
>>94732586>it would have the impact of making the format more fun, I miss sultai delirium so goddamn muchIt would not do that because sultai delirium would have zero impact on the format today.
>>94732636thats not what I meant, I want to have fun playing sultai delirium with uro, I don't care if it's tier 0 or tier 5
Is pretty ironic we are getting to the point where bad designs as Titans are kicked out of formats because of the absurd power level and the constant FIRE of WotC.

>>94733597>I swear it's a fetish for these freaks. You don't have to swear, it literally is.
>>94733509Not everyone can use magic
>>94730168I would say not putting six shooters or rifles in thunder junction was a major contributor to that set tanking
>>94730168>>94730257>>94733638Originally Guns forbidden because when they tried to have them in Portal 2, the player feedback was that "it didn't feel like magic" and therefore was put in the "players hate this lets never revisit it again" box. Which is a bad system but better for overall health than what we have now.Now since Wizards had given up and made themes that never should of existed anyways its mostly because the people making Magic think guns are icky.

>>94734483The answer isn't really that hard to get. Those cards are only legal in legacy, vintage, and duel commander. There's no way you'd waste a post going ZOMG GUYS LOOK HOW MUCH FOW AND DAZE IS USED IN LEGACY and there isn't enough moxes for it to be vintage.
>>94734461Asses to asses butts to butts
>>94734483>>94734590Wash Away is the giveaway
>>94734483>you cheated you fuckNo, I just concluded that based on card legality. Brainstorm is only legal in Legacy and Vintage and Force Spike, Wash Away and Lose focus aren't played in Vintage, so I had to conclude they were from another format and Medvedev posted about the event earlier today.

I played someone that said Branching Evolution should double the counters of an X cost hydra that enters the battlefield with counters. Branching Evolution effects creatures you control, and the counters are added to the hydra before you control it. I found other posts that disagree with me, so what is the answer? I'm very new to this if you couldn't tell.
>>94735777Because you're racist.
>>94736620The counters are added as it comes into play branching evolution will double the counters as it comes into play. Branching evolution is a replacement effect that doesnt use the stack so the hydra has double counters before anyone can respond.
>>94736272>meanwhile>we can have a card that depicts the idea of getting shot so hard with a "thunder rifle" that it melts the remains of the victims into the walls and ceiling but we can't have guns

Look at D&D, where they've achieved market dominance to the point there are significant numbers of people that played Cyberpunk 2077 and said they wanted to play 5E in a cyberpunk setting. >>94739920What's insane is waifu cards inspire more negative conversation than fun. I chalk it up to the MtG community being mostly speculators and trying to pull one over on the other guy. It's hard to want to engage with people who always have an angle.
>>94739997This card made so many people mad for no reason
F for my nigga rei
>>94739997Your guess is as good as mine, but I think you're probably right. I'd also guess Magic being the boomer of the big three means it has less appeal to kids, which indirectly means less people with a lot of spare time to drive that kind of engagement. A 12 year old posting about their favorite Pokemon is nothing strange, a 32 year old doing it is a much less common sight.
>>94739816Thinking about it, besides what you mentioned>The Weatherlight Saga gets talked about positively in retrospect>People seethe about Mirrodin still>Ravnica as a setting in general pre WAR>The group of ESL Alara posters>Elsbeth getting killed was a bid thing back in the day>People getting mad at the erasure of the Clans on Tarkir>OG Ixalan is liked for making Jace a good characterOf note is that the only thing post WAR people cared about was Jin postingReally half of those are from people liking the settings over the characters or actual stories. And that's what MTG was good at, making cool and fun settings built around shared traits across the multiverse and interesting color pie interactions. As someone who has read a bunch of them, the actual stories are not that bad. They are fun pulp adventures which is all they ever needed to by, that suffered from needing to be tied to set releases. An example is the Lorwyn Cycle since that's on the brain is the issue where Book 1 is all setup till the end, while book 2 gets to bank off all the setup and open with a run rescue mission adventure. Both suffer without the other but as a 600 some page affair its a fun read. But again that's 600 pages of story that's only just Fun, so why would you do that when you can just jerk off and watch anime?

>>94741005>actually I used to think he was a good example of diversity,Yeah, literally so was everything in MTG prior to the DEI shit. It was one of the most diverse fucking IPs in the damned world, from its inception with Taysir's inclusion in the Nine Titans, the first real MTG block featuring 100% black characters, the golden age with Sisay through Kamigawa, to its murder at the hands of greedy, spineless retards.MTG was arguably the most diverse IP through all of the 90s, and absolutely the most diverse in the gaming space. There was a significant sales boost just from ditching almost all existing characters and replacing them with cute animals. Meanwhile, Pokemon Go became #1 mobile game of the time by slapping Pokemon graphics on an existing mediocre game. I agree with you that anons exaggerate how shitty the stories are, most are fine. But it doesn't matter because most people aren't even aware of their existence, we're in the vast minority here. Plus they shot themselves in the foot from the start with their setup, it's not really possible to make a story about a multiverse that's interesting, long running, and not a comedy. The only one I can think of is Doctor Who, which has the benefit of being focused on a single consistent character, and plenty of people would dispute it being good.

>>94740382>Elsbeth (sic) getting killed was a bid thing back in the dayNot really. By Theros block most people had stopped caring about the storyline. The only thing I remember from that period was people arguing about whether she would come back since back then JotC had a policy where 'if a character is dead they stay dead' but also Theros was a setting with an explicit afterlife and way of returning from the dead.WAR was unironically more hyped than anything in the Theros block, both by Wizards and by the fanbase. The stupid "In The End" trailer was cringe in an endearing way and the stained glass teaser was cool too. WAR had every opportunity to be awesome and as impactful as NPH (which you overlooked in your post. The Mirrodin Pure/New Phyrexia thing got people to engage with the storyline as well). It was purely an execution problem and not having the balls to kill off meaningful characters despite promising an earth shattering change to the status quo.

This is a perfect example of facts vs emotions. It feels really bad when your opponent casts Sunfall, so some anons here complain about white, but if you look at tournament results (facts), red and black are the issue colors in standard and pioneer.
>>94743014I'm not the white sctizo but most of those are removal used in other plans and of the two that aren't, one of them was meh and the other is multicolor.White can be strong buts its a supporting color to either Red or Dimir shells more than any threat on its own. Also what white sctizo wants is white to be pushed as hard as Red and Black, basically wanting a White Winter in the vein of Combo or Eldrazi.
