So the Genshin Gods must of liked me since I got the Pyro archon and the violent grandmother in only about 110 pulls. How are you're guys new years going?
>>
>>94708362
This is what happens when you get greedy and take power/memory loss + time extension drawbacks.
>>
>>94708373
Mokou is neck-deep in the 'immortality blows ass actually' camp, and has spent around 1500 years either trying to take revenge on her mortal enemy (futile, she's also immortal), trying to find a way to die permanently (impossible, the Hourai Elixir is perfect restorative immortality), or bumming around as a depressed hermit because of the impermanence of everything around her meaning that any attachments she forms are inevitably painful and tragic.
You were A: invested in her in the same way Kaguya was and B: are quasi-immortal yourself, meaning she has a shot at actually having a meaningful relationship with you.

Is Medaka Box just Japanese Kim Possible?

Someone reminded of the old Kim Possible cartoon today and it made me realize the basic premise of Medaka Box is kinda similar.
>>
>>94708406
As ambivalent as I am about the prior critique because "is Asura powerful because he's angry, or angry because of his innate overwhelming power?" feels like one of those chicken and egg problems, I'm pleased to say this does help settle the question of whether or not I wanna invest in some OC demigods who are most definitely not the ancestors of other fighting game series characters hopped up on Lust mantra as part of a Primarch-like Shinkoku eugenics program.
>>
>>94708390
Nito refused to come after like 120sq, so out of luck on that side.

Then my pc just lost the will to live right as I was starting AssCreed Odyssey. So gonna have to wait till monday to have that checked out.

Though I guess those technically happened last year. So we'll see how it goes.

No, as Kim isn't actually super powered or has anything special about her beyond her incredible skills and will. And Ron is actually secretly super powered and has a magical destiny, rather than Kim.

Medaka Box is a genderswapped Kim Possible.

>>94708393
Populous, Civilisation and Age of Mythology are oldies but goldies. Can't go wrong with Stellaris, Homeworld (until the third game, which is in the far future anyway) or Sins of a Solar Empire for space empires. Or Floornight, MCU part 3 (unfortunately), and the New Gods for multiversal empires.

>Homeworld
I love the setting but not sure how to insert myself into the Burning of Kharak without being opened fire on by the Kushan.
>>
>>94708416
Being a civilian in Stellaris is either absolute paradise, or absolute hell. There's basically no in between.

Even on "normal" planets with regular living standards, 50-70% happiness, minimal crime, and no slavery, the people still live in a space age society on a world controlled by a single government. It may be boring and a bit dangerous on occasion, but there's no more international conflicts and everyone has access to the same standers of living.

Meanwhile the poor souls in Trapppist could be getting slowly harvested for food after having their planet bombed to 100% devastation by the Noxious xenocidal fungus cyborgs who are determined to exterminate everyone who isn't them.
>>
>>94708393
Master of Magic is a good one. You can buy a starting town or two if you want and, more importantly, you've got the ability to lay enchantments that can be potentially world wide and which can be paid for in money if you take the right perks. For similar reasons SB's Age of Wonders 2 jump is also good because it has domain spells which are enchantments that can affect everything within potentially hundreds of miles of specially prepared wizard towers. SB's Pathfinder Kingmaker jump is also pretty good.

Also while I won't say it's my favorite I figure bronze age collapse kind of has to be the 1st jump to start properly empire building because it's the only one I'm familiar with that offers an option for your to take your conquests with you. If you're not worried about taking your conquests with you for some reason then Mount and Blade is also a solid contender thanks to that one perk that makes it so you always seem to have some sort of legitimate claim on whatever territory you're trying to contest.
>>
>>94708465
We have a Populous jump?
>>
>>94708481
>There's basically no in between
There is also the option of being militantly racist in a constantly vigilante culture where repression is as high as solidarity and national pride.

What's the point of growing an empire after one universe, anyway? You've already gotten everything you could have wanted out of a country once you hit the universal scale for it that conquest doesn't really do anything for anybody.

"Good morning, class" I said, shuffling into the university halls wearing a comically large Shiba Inu costume to dampen my innate charisma.

"Good morning, professor anon!" said my class in unison.

"I'd like to begin today's lecture by addressing our three key strategies for addressing the Mana crisis. The first of course, being my Unified Theory of Alchemy, which you can see the proof of if you'll take out your Redstone tablets and activate the Primary Formula-yes, the one right under Hermes Trismegistus' name" I said as students fiddled with their tablets. "To make a long story short, I've condensed the alchemical knowledge of thousands of realities into a system that only requires a sometimes-equal exchange to transmute materials from your world"

"Second of all" I said, withdrawing a wickedly sharp needle, "is the Super Mana Serum. We know that humans and Manas are sexually compatible, and while I've simply combined two of my avatars to have all the advantages of human and mana, as lower order lifeforms you guys will have to settle for this Captain America-style serum that uses alchemy to inject the essence of a mana into yourself"

"And thirdly" I said, dragging in something strapped to a slap and fighting under the tablecloth I'd put on it, "I'd like to present the Light Mana, and the Surrender Oaths denoting him as university property on a metaphysical level"

The cloth came flying off as everyone ooed and ahhed appreciately, revealed the Light Mana thrashing under the force of binding seals.

"Who, being technically guilty of aiding and abetting a known Mana murderer, is free game for experimentation" I added casually.

>What's the point of growing an empire after one universe, anyway?
Acquiring resources not found under only one universe's laws of physics? Building a logistics network in a Narnia-style reality where time moves faster than in your own? Creating a bolthole in case of some inescapable disaster in your original reality? Generating even more Crisis/Anti-Crisis Energy, Essence or other supernatural energies?

>You've already gotten everything you could have wanted out of a country once you hit the universal scale for it that conquest doesn't really do anything for anybody.
As long as there are other universes not under the central total control, there are external national security threats.

My jumper always goes to Stellaris as a Rogue Servitor determined to play the benign AI ruler to the hilt. I figure I can keep my organics entertained with endless amounts of games and literature and all kinds of stuff they can immerse themselves in while each organic gets a small army of maids and butlers to fulfil every whim. It's kind of difficult toting that empire around after though...

Gods are universally hungry, stupid animals that are ultimately doing tricks for food. The most benign they can get is the Cairn Maiden, who is mainly benign insofar as she feeds on PEACEFUL death not violent death specifically and therefore has no reason to bug anyone because people are dying all the time. She also doesn't "keep the others in check" except insofar as she gives them a peaceful death when they're fully spent too, and she's completely honest about how this is both just and unjust in a sense.

There is no ambiguity by the end of the story, gods are awful and the best thing humans can do is find somewhere without any.
>>
>>94708689
Yeah but that's clearly not possible so, what's better between picking one god or having a lot of them and playing the numbers game.
>>
>>94708698
>that's clearly not possible so
Uh
It's low key, but as a certain item suggests, everyone who followed Paige far enough apparently DID find somewhere without gods in the far end of the wastelands. I mean it's a little ambiguous, but the recording did say anyone else would only find it if they left the wastes behind IIRC?

Anyway technically speaking one god if you can adapt the belief systems around it to be relatively tame or luck out and get a Cairn Maiden-tier one who doesn't really want much that humans don't already regularly do.
>>
>>94708610
That one Minecraft isekai.
>>
>>94708708
That contradicts the apparent metaphysical rules of the cosmology though. Like, if there is a place without gods then it's a place where humans haven't been for a long time...and even then, it must also be a place where the domains of other gods doesn't reach to, which is stupid. Even then, if there aren't gods there then there will be gods there soon enough as long as there are people there. They're inescapable as a fact of reality in that setting.
>>
>>94708720
>That contradicts the apparent metaphysical rules of the cosmology though
So does Val's agency as a Saint, when Saints are supposed to just be hollow husks of people entirely subsumed by their god's demands. I don't know how to tell you this, but this is one of those settings where sometimes, shit just kind of happens.

Age, they say, is just a number. In the alpine reaches of Appalachia, in the hoary old times and places when inhuman legends walked side by side with intrepid pioneers to the movers and shakers of this insignificant wet little dirtball age matters not except as a way to denote how long one has survived. And as a shadow crossed over the sun, as all life and light dimmed in the face of it's inescapable voracity, as the oceans curdled and the atmosphere itself grew thin before it's all-engulfing maw age...ceased to matter, to most.

Except to one J.T. Fields.

"Now I know how this looks" he was saying to the first vertebrate animal to step foot on land, "but just here me out! This is SIMPLY a mass extinction event. Nasty business, terrible thing all round, but nothing a man with grit, attitude and a hibernation cycle can't overcome! Whaddya say friends, wanna be the first pioneers of the ocean?"

The primitive fish-like creature stared at J.T. Fields from the silt and the froth and went "glub glub glub". Somehow, J.T. Fields understood it perfectly.

"No predators sir, that's what I'm SAYING! You have NO idea what manner of opportunity is waiting for you up here where trees-excuse me, fella have trees evolved yet?" Fields asked me all of a sudden.

"We're about 10 million years too early for those" I told him. He cursed, then turning back to the almost-fish said "OKAY FINE but just consider it an investment! Your great, great, greatgreatgreatgreat grand children will thank you!"

"Glubglububgul" said the ur-vertebrate, turning tail and swimming away.

Fields sighed. "Well...tarnation. And here I was really hoping that someone, anyone would start telling stories about me that wasn't 'J.T. Fields the somewhat annoying huckster who sometimes goes up to the First People to try to sell them things they don't want, for things they never wanted, and ends up getting ignored as we all go off into a more interesting facet of reality'"

He squinted up at the approaching ebon mass of maws, fins and tentacles.

"Damned shame about this old rock. I was getting to like it" he said wistfully.

"I was too" I said. "Ariel. Iris. Are you ready?"

"The beast will burn in your name and grandfather's, father" promised Ariel, brandishing a blowtorch erupting from a sunflower of Heaven in the shape of a curved sword. It's flame cleft stray quarks into a blueish edge around itself.

"Not a trace of it will escape" promised Iris. Two of her hands hefted lances of infinite energy. The other two readied shields that could withstand that same energy effortlessly.

"Capital. Remember" I said, summoning an arsenal of Beyblades infused with the Green as J.T. Fields whistled, "no survivors"

I could try to describe the ensuing battle but honestly, it was almost 1:1 like that one episode of Samurai Jack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-x1JE3lxyI

"Well I'll be" said Fields, as a stray scrap of the universe-devouring darkness drifted into the atmosphere, "I daresay that there scrap of malignity might someday possess one of them tree-things, and create a future where it's evil is law-"

"NOPE" I said, hitting the damn thing like a meteor from orbit. All of a sudden, a carriage crashed in from out of nowhere and a confused young Southern woman stumbled out asking if she was too late to prevent the dark future where Those Who Sleep Beneath awoke.

After showing her ancient Earth for a while then shipping her off to my empire, I spent the rest of my time here doing mysterious First People things.

My bias requires me to encourage the homebrew sahkil-spawn tiefling offer, because the campaign/setting is all about horror and fear and Pharasma is the big deal deity here. Mix in Duskwalker with it to imply sahkil-psychopomp romance among your ancestors for maximum heresy.
Alternatively: dragon that is inexplicably a werewolf.

That very sentences reminds me of the /tg/ backlash against "freakshit", whatever that even means in a franchise where Drizzt was more popular than any human character long before the emergence of the big red tiefling lady in BG3.

AP doesn't have too much freakiness going on. A ghost werewolf is a major feature of Broken Moon, loads of skum children with humans or giants, a lich werewolf*, ravener dragon, hag lich teaser. Simply seemed fun to expand on the freak hybrid templates when Ustalav is full of mad science and weird occult options.
Story doesn't feature tieflings or aasimar at all. But as they're common choices for players it seemed wrong to not list the option. Also gave an opportunity to clarify minor traits of Ustalav how superstitious locals can be with fear over aasimar. And the absence of Asmodeus/Hellknights who can be found in so many other areas. There's a note in the Toggle section that all player race options are valid and the ancestry section is really more suggestions based on the region's themes rather than strict limits.

Can't go wrong with classic Moroi have nice generic hypnotism and the gaseous state, but nosferatu getting a swarm form and telepaythy and creepy wall crawling. The others types aren't featured locally. Being jiang-shi seems awful.

You physically transform into a form you visualize, this does affect your size, weight and durability and can be used to give you extra natural weapons. It requires both an initial chakra costs as well as an ongoing maintenance cost. Multiple creature can also Henge together, and the requirements of the jutsu can be split up, so one person could focus on the visualization and chakra control while the other controls the chakra. The resulting transformation can be both larger than both creatures, as well as just the same size or smaller than either of them.
It's also possible to change what you're transformed into halfway through and you don't need to do handsigns for it.
Presence or lack of organs in a transformation also doesn't have an effect on you. Like you can still think without a brain or breath without lungs

I stared at the Peninsula with the disgusted expression of a man watching a perfectly good picnic be overrun by fire ants. Outside, a car was pulling up and some haggard middle-aged woman and homicidal brat were cautiously getting out, but they were far beneath my notice as I surveyed the terrain. "This is" I said finally, "the WORST egregore infestation ever since that one Shard of Creation where the Dragonblooded overthrew the gods, the mortals overthrew the Dragonblooded, and the least gods overthrew the mortals". I thought about that. "Well, other than the time a nano-Hollow accident resulted in a whole district of Soul Society being cordoned off". I thought about that some more. "And of course, that whole uprising led by the Could-Have-Been King and his army of Meanwhiles and Neverweres. It's competitive, for sure. But this is up there. In the running. With certain criteria"

"What's a Dragonblooded?" asked a nearby gravedigger, as my god (my annoyance further increased as I noticed it was a pleasure god. And a really tacky one) whispered a warning in it's indistinct language ("pogchamp pogchamp POGCHAMP").

"A damn sight better than most of the things worshipped here. Jump" I added.

As we jumped, I reasoned to myself that I was above the street and therefore above street-level. The impact of our landing therefore didn't affect me at all, but instead knocked down the building behind me.

Carpenter and Faulkner were staring at me, too terrified to even scream.

From a portal, I opened a door in a secure facility, and brought out a scruffy but intense looking girl to join us. "Took you long enough" she said as Carpenter and Faulkner argued with each other about what manner of being I was. "Ready to end it all?"

"Not all. But yes. Soon. First of all I am" I said, turning some Occult Charms on my own familiar, "going to bind this creature as my familiar"

"It's a god, my friend" she said. Without looking behind her she shot out the tires of Carpenter's car as they tried to make an escape and said "NO WITNESSES. STAY STILL AND IT WILL BE OVER QUICK AND CLEANLY" loudly.

"And now, it's a god that conforms to my will" I pointed out. "Look, it's not even fighting. It knows my Essence will feed it better than a hundred mundane worshippers". She fought about that. "Can you bind mine to me too?" she asked. "I can sure try"

"What about the Cairn Maiden?" asked the gravedigger inquisitively. She cocked her head. "She says...actually, she says you may as well not bother"

Carpenter and Faulkner stayed in their car, paralysed with fear, as they readied whatever weapons they could and I worked ancient arts beyond the ken of mortal men. Culminating in a sorcerous ritual of sky-cracking, golden-lightning blasting power that swept across both the Peninsula, the Linger Straits and eventually the entire world to enact a law: Cutting all gods off from sustenance through human worship.

The first casualties were the gods of the wastelands, for whom it was more or less a mercy killing. "There. Now I've ended it all" I told the former captive as instinctively, she shivered at what had come to pass-and my own god clung to me like a beaten animal, peppering me with questions about how to appease ME now that it sensed all other avenues of hunger were no longer present. "If you want to break kick them while they're down, get it out of your system. But it's just an afterthought"

"Groovy" she said. Her Awakened Essence pool was tiny, but the god of war now bound to her was as cowed as the pleasure god trying to figure out which combination of sweet lolita, alcohol and murderous blondes was to my preference.

"I've just demonstrated power over the gods themselves" I said to nobody, the other god bound to me taking notice, "and anyone capable of that clearly holds power over men as well. I claim the power to erase free will. To transfer knowledge. And" I added even as the tenuous logic of scaling that was this god's trade stretched to it's brink "to enforce competence on my wishes"

Everyone suddenly found themselves empty-headed, and bent towards a specific task: The renovation of electrical, waste disposal, water and other essential systems to work on scientific principles instead of the benevolence of the divine. It wasn't as hard as it sounded. There was considerable overlap between a god empowering a machine, and a god arising because of a sufficiently convenient machine. The main barrier was politics, which suddenly wasn't one considering people were working together with machinelike efficiency and the cooperation of ants.

...

"It would be optimal to keep them like this forever, but I suppose eighteen hours of uninterrupted labour before they're released should be sufficient" I said.

"E-excuse me? You there! Tall, dark and terrifying!" yelled Carpenter from the car. "If you're going to inflict some kind of fate worse than death on us, I'd suggest you just get on with it-"

"Your god's about to die. If you want to see him off, you can probably see him go under the waves if you get to the rivers quickly" I interrupted.

"In exactly twenty five minutes, thirty seconds" added the gravedigger.

"You guys have fun, I'm going to rip off that prat Carson's head and shit down the hole" said the Saint.

Two gasps. Tires screeching. They were gone.

>>

>>
>>94709013
I would like to ask an honest question, and maybe people are gonna think I'm weird for this, but why does anyone care if someone posts a build for their Jump? Like, I've just been silently kinda sitting on that for years and maybe I asked this a long time ago but like, I am indeed confused. I understand posting the build to better talk about your Jumper and establish what they're like, but then people will post builds of your work and link you, and then a lot of Jumpmakers will be like "Sick! Builds!" or take people not posting builds as a metric for something. I think I'm just missing something.
>>
Is there any real reason the Henge principles couldn't be applied outside the body to pull FMA-type shit using a variant jutsu?
>>
>>94709029
because it doesn't work like that, it's the same reason for wich the giant fireball can't be spawned within the opponent.
>>
>>94709029
Arguably that's how the Inuzuka Clan's 'Beast Human Clone' technique works. Your main issue though is that it's a sustained thing; you can't permanently turn one thing into another.
>>
>>94709028
People like attention and engagement, and people also like when others share things based on them or what they have done (like a lesser version of a vtuber getting fanart made of them). I think some jumpmakers are just being polite when they do that though.
>>
>>94709028
It indicates that people liked/cared about the jump and/or the property it was based on. Not getting builds doesn't necessarily mean the opposite is true, but it doesn't necessarily mean it isn't. It also acts as a kind of quality control, since you know eyes were on the jump to spot potential issues, whereas if no one read the jump it's possible there's stuff you'll need to fix later. Also, you have no idea WHY no one used the jump. Maybe it was just the property being too niche, but maybe the jump was just shit.
>>
>>94709028
I don't see getting no builds as failure, but I do like when others get enjoyment or use out of the things I have made and shared.
>>
>>94709041
Nta but to be fair, permanently transfiguring things, while plot relevant, isn't what sets FMA alchemy apart. It's the speed and fluidity with which they do things, a lot like Bending in AtLA in that regard. Permanent transmutation is nice but it's available in a lot of alchemy/magic systems.
>>
>>94709041
Nta, but I feel like the Inuzuka thing is differently, since they apply their jutsu to their dogs which are sapient beings with their own chakra reserves and capable of ninjutsu.

Like Akamaru has everything needed to actively sustain a Henge, while a rock on the ground doesn't.
>>
>>94708994
Never! Except for every moment I contemplate updating jumps. I would greatly enjoy a better version but don't want to read or watch it again when I can live in this state of vague nostalgic recollection that remembersit much better than it is.
>>94709013
It is evil but only in the mildest, inoffensive way. Everyone likes to see the things they made bringing entertainment to others. It's not as bad as creating an imagined dire scenario to get builds. But take pride in your work and openly request builds. Unrelatedly, if anyone would share a build it will shelter my family for a week, every build for my jumps helps.
>>
>>94709043
Okay so like in a vacuum this is basically them showing what they did to me since I am a person who would know what they're doing as the one who wrote those things they have, and they wanna talk about it with someone. I can engage with that.

>>94709044
Gotcha, so it's another way of collecting visible evidence of engagement. If people are posting builds and nothing negative is cropping up, it's also a soft indicator of quality. That sounds logical to me.

>>94709053
Yeah, me too. It's just that then? I can get that.

>>94709071
That's mostly only Clapchemy, otherwise Alchemists require setup time to accomplish their feats, either by manually drawing a relevant circle at the scene, or by creating a portable circle to make use of at a moment's notice. Like I get what you're saying, but that doesn't really seem like the norm by my old memories.

>>94709078
That's fair. Seems like you would need to create some sort of Jutsu tag and then attach that to a given object so that it serves as the basis for the technique and a battery at the same time. Theoretically doable, but also probably not at all worth the effort.
>>
>>94709105
Well I don't try to bait builds, so I am just speaking for myself. I don't know why people do that.
>>
>>94709108
Yeah I'm gonna be honest that's my main source of confusion, but it sounds like anons above had decent answers.
>>
>>94709010
Easy to feed.

>>94709028
Yeah I'm with WoL_Anon and you on this one. I don't even see getting builds as the primary objective of making jumps, the only reason I became a jumpmaker in the first place is because there was stuff I really wanted to go to in Jumpchain nobody else made a jump for. So I did. As far as I'm concerned, a success for me is the jump being OK'd to go on the drive, and after that if anyone else gets enjoyment and/or use out of what I make I consider that to be a pleasant side effect instead of why I made the jump in the first place. I still care deeply about the feedback and review process because my autism demands that the finished product be as good as possible, but ultimately it's a labour of enlightened self-interest.
>>
>>94709131
Yeah you get it. All the stuff (except Hyrule Warriors) is something I personally wanted made. Then I shared it so other people would get to use it, and if people were happy then I was happy that they were happy. Community and what have you.

>>94709131

Wait, so they got offscreened? After all the hype they got in the quantumania movie?
>>
>>94709158
Yep! Oh, almost forgot about all the jumps I made purely out of spite at the original setting. Like DC!

Spite-jumpmaking isn't for everyone, but those who tap into that well of negativity and channel it into creative impulses will literally never run out of motivation until the dark work is done.
>>
>>94709169
I can't sustain emotions like spite or rage. Don't get me wrong, I wish, but eventually I just can't care.
>>
>>94709178

But seriously she isn't mentioned once in the campaign or Rule of Fear. You're free to still worship her as a cleric or whatever, it just won't give you any local friends with the same faith. You can get away with using discounts for a related god for build purposes at least.
>>
>>94709194
Never put your faith in Pathfinder gods anyway, they'll always let you down in the end.

Except for Cayden, who goes out of his way not to cultivate any expectations to begin with.
>>
>>94709204
You don't need to use anything in the section, consider everything optional. It 100% doesn't need to maintain the mystery factor if you don't want that and know the material.
>>
>>94709205

Ah, well, that's a relief. Thanks.

Jumper is a divination specialist, and I use a houserule where they are required to dedicate a significant portion of their build to divination options in every jump that offers them. So it would have effectively negated the vast majority of jumper's toolkit both from this jump and outside of it.
>>
>>94709158
They have been doomed for a while now. The actor shit could have been fixed with a replacement, but multiverse stuff has been failure after failure. The new plan is Doom doing the Secret Wars universe fusion, and then using the fixing of that to retcon mutants and the like into the MCU in a cohesive manner.

"...and so you see, the faith of Urgathoa actually emphasises MONOGAMY and LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST" explained one of three celebrants of a dark and hidden faith as they assembled on a (dark and stormy) night when a particular graveyard seemed to have an unusual amount of howling. "Something small minds fail to appreciate because cannibalism is such an ugly word"

"Indeed, INDEED sister, that's why I had to leave the family estate and pursue our true calling!" agreed another. All three of them raised ceremonial knives to catch the pale moonlight.

"DESECRATING CORPSES!"

But right as they were about to desecrate some corpse, an unreasonable amount of wolves exploded out of the nearest grave like a furry fountain. Simultaneously a Queen of the Night and an Apocalypse Rider showed up with their cohorts. As the cultists all decided to hide behind the largest tombstone, from the ensuing bickering it seemed that there was some manner of dread portent for both immense danger and opportunity on this very night. Also some half-orc was just chopping into everyone he could reach nearby.

Suddenly a pillar of flame erupted from earth to heaven, turning day to night and casting beams of light that seemed to pierce into dimensions otherwise unseen by the human eye. As the siblings gazed up at it, and as wolves, demons and devils went tumbling around them, the siblings felt something in the light pierce through their brains. And knew intuitively-as if impaled by the same surgeon's needles-that far away, dozens of others felt the same sensa-

-"-was that?" asked the cleric among them.

"Huh?". The witch among them slowly realised she was lying down, and had no memory of falling.

"What just happened?! I could swear we were just there and now we're...over here?" asked the cleric, throwing her hands up in frustration. The pillar of fire was still roaring up into the night, flattening creatures of darkness with a weight and heat that didn't seem to be entirely physical

And when at last I'd finished excising the last of Xhamen-Dor from mortal minds, I finally dropkicked the abomination straight into the graveyard. "XANTHOUS MOUND OF FESTERING EXCREMENT" I shouted, raining holy swords down on it as the Empyreal Lord I'd summoned pummelled the thing. "MEANINGLESS DISTRACTION FROM COSMIC HOLOCAUST" I shouted. With a flex of Authority the thing screeched as it was marked evil-redoubling the pummelling it received. "INSULT TO AN ORDERED REALITY"

Slowly, I noticed the observers. "You've picked a terrible night to distract me" I told them.

"I-it was foretold this would be a grand night of opportunity for dark forces..." mumbled a devil weakly as I glared at it.

"YOU THERE! JUMPER!" said the goddess Urgathoa, using her worshippers as an anchor to summon herself into the plane. "I have heard your cosmic war against the Dark Tapestry accepts all comers, so long as they direct their ire against the Outer Gods and their servants! Is it true Asmodeus has a compact with you to dispose of Rovagug therein?"

"He is a reliable businessman, why not?"

"Do the Dominion of the Black really worship you as the apotheosis of annihilation?"

I rolled my eyes at that. "Worship? Is that what you call their incessant fanboying? All I know is they won't stop following me after I cracked open Aucturn and killed the thing within. They kind of remind me of my kids, actually. Can't fault their service to me, though"

"And is it true you and a newly ascended former half-succubus are launching Worldscars at Hell to uplift those loyal to you into deities?"

"Areelu is one of the finest minds in your tragically primitive reality and we are acquainted, yes"

"Well, as a mere goddess I shall be honest with you" said Urgathoa. "I can't profess to have Asmodeus' sheer authority over demonkind, the Dominion's cruelty or a spell that can make others divine too. What I CAN promise you is my full support and that of ALL my followers if you could" she waved vaguely at her undead lower half, "fix this. Surely not a hassle for the mutilator of Rovagug?"

"Is that all? Well. I suppose I can always use an undead contingent, and what has Pharasma done for me lately? NOT help me kill Outer Gods SPECIFICALLY. Bam, vaginus restoratious" I said vaguely, snapping my fingers. Urgathoa watched in wonder as her lower body regained living flesh in total defiance of the so-called sanctity of death. Shocked at the sheer ease and speed of regaining her clitoris, she immediately had her first orgasm in millennia from sheer relief and started rolling around the ground moaning and yelling about how good it feels to have a satiable sex drive again.

Somewhere, Pharasma groaned.

Everyone else there slowly processed this while I glared at the twitching Great Old One/Hastur's poop and wondered how to dispose of it. Then everyone started violently attacking the weakened Great Old One while shouting about their job experience and professing they'd ALWAYS hated the Outer Gods as much as I did.

Not a thing, abortion has been common all throughout history in all cultures. With a ridiculous amount of different methods ranging from stuff like strenuous labour to herb mixtures, fasting and bloodletting.

>Drop In as a Drawback
Jesus, for as long as you've been here you shouldn't need basic facts about how jump documents work explained to you. Being a Drop In or not is a free choice or at very worst non-Drop In backgrounds cost 100 CP. Drop In itself is not worth a +100 Drawback. You should not get paid for the jump not giving you anything. That blatantly just sets your starting CP to 1100.

Ascension Tier is just miles above every other 600 Perk, and the idea of a perk making the world around you more dangerous is a bizarre and unnecessary way to fuse a drawback into it, one that gets worse because all my Companions can take Ascension Tier and because Perks stack (with diminishing returns, natch) each copy increases the power for the adventure path's dangers.

Similarly, the 400 CP perks are mostly very weak compared to the ones that grant the ability to get a Gestalt prestige class.

Then don't let your Companions take the Ascension Tier. People and jumpmakers shouldn't have to micromanage your imagination Game for you, you are not a child.
>>
>>94709578
But Ascension Tier is worth it. Still the one true build even. I'm just pointing out one more way in which he really didn't think this through, because I'm betting that in his head he was envisioning a party of Mythic tier adventurers going through a Mythic balanced adventure path, not whatever this would wind up as.

I just woke up, so we'll see how things go. Right now I'm thinking about who's going to fill the last few spots on my mostly Iron Blood squads for my New Year's Chain. I've got two more submarines to find and hopefully a back-liner who's something of a troublemaker. Because it's more fun to write if not everyone is fawning all over the Jumper right out of the gate.

Also:
Azur Lane v1.5 Changelog
>Changed the Universal Toggles to cover any crossovers, not just the few I had specified before.
>Decreased the price of Lighter Side of Life. I decided after experimenting with my own build that not being able to gain points from Drawbacks is cost enough.
>Increased the number of Shipgirls you get with A Full Fleet to 16. Changed the wording on it just a little bit to make more sense.
>Added in the Sailing Frigates, a new Shipgirl Type.

As I said when I posted this at the end of the last thread, I have no plans to do a full update because I'm literally years out of date. I stopped right around the time Blueprint ships were just implemented to get you an idea. This is just me fixing things I screwed up the first time around. If someone wants to pick it up and update it more fully, I'll be happy to hand off the original Google Doc.

>>
>>94709859
Look at it this way.

It takes 5 grails to bring a SSR servant to lv. 100, and even more if they are of a lower rarity. And I can totally see five grails lorewise being enough to make a Servant turn into a grand.

Naturally this means those lv.120 freaks become Type-Nasu or something.

Also this is just a dumb gameplay feature that literally only works in certain stages (which haven't even been released yet) and the bonus of being a "grand" is just using a bond Craft Essence and a normal CE at the same time. No big deal unless you're Herc.

Plan is simple, me and my companion are basically a couple that will help out Rama and Raksha with taking care of Mowgli as sort of his aunt and uncle. I also plan on sneakily teaching him various human skills, and will even fly over to the village to both eat dead livestock and also observe what they're doing. Once Mowgli finally has his adventure and makes it to the human village, I plan on acting as a visiting uncle, providing messages and updates between Mowgli and his animal friends so he doesn't get restless and cause the problems from the second movie from happening.
The only remaining question are what do I want my companion to be, and what species of vulture do I want to be? Within the subcontinent proper there are three endemic species of vulture (of which I'm somewhat partial to the Indian Vulture and White-backed Vulture), but up in the mountains and Pakistan you also get Bearded Vultures, who are rad as hell. As for companion, I'm half tempted to make her some kind of ape for flavor and have the ruins and monkeys be her subordinates a la Sun Wukong style.

Do you think fuinjutsu in Naruto would offer anything the onmyouji perk in Fate Japan can't do?
>>
>>94710185
I think that both systems are soft enough that with work they can easily encroach each others.
>>
>>94710215
Fuinjutsu is way more limited, don't let fanon colour it.
>>
What's your favorite fantastical setting? Something that doesn't ostensibly present as our world with a Masquerade or anything, just a full-blown fantasy (but not necessarily restricted to the fantasy genre).
>>
>>94710231
People keep conflating fuinjutsu with written chakra formulas. But really Naruto canon is so shit I just use fanon anyway.
>>
>>94710231
Yes, it's not even remotely as broken as fanon would have you think, I was more talking about chakra itself being a system full of weird hax and that can be evolved in incredible directions, so if you take Fuinjutsu and freak of nature I'm sure you will be able to do some serious bs with it.
>>
>>94710185

>>
>>94710296
Not really?
There is no set system of letters you write down that can accomplish anything.
Its just a broad system based on real onmyoji traditions that includes stuff like manipulating the elements, cursing peple and summoning and controlling familiars(some are paper familiars, others use real animals).

There is no reason to assume that people can just use it to bend space to seal things away for later use when that is neither part of what people consider part of the magic tradition nor is it in line ith actual showings of characters that use it.
Also sealing powerful beings inside hosts is a pretty big deal in Fate unless the host is specifically modified/created for it or if there is immense compability beteen the host and the spirit.

yeah sure, but not the kinds of sealing I mentioend.

The kind mentioned in fate is Tamamo having her power sealed away, which is like the only overlap there is between onmyouji and fuinjutsu.
There isn't reallly anything based around sealing things inside prepared scrolls/containers or one being in another.
>>
>>94710556

Anon plenty of myths in Japan are about this or that youkai being sealed into an item or shrine. It's why it's such a common trope in anime.
>>
>>94710543
It cut his arm off. If it aimed a little more to the right it would've cut Gojo in half like Sukuna did. The idea that Raga gets stronger with the user is entirely anecdotal based off Nue seemingly being stronger when Sukuna uses it. In any case, the fact the ability can not only bypass Infinity but one-shot Gojo obviously puts it in the 800 tier. It can counter any ability that could ever exist in JJK.
>>
>>94710518
>Won't leave the guild
Harem/ Social Fu can help here. Issue is that they view the guild as their family. You could still make them to move, if you get the guild to back you up/ solve their issues, because damn do all the chicks in Fairy Tail have issues.

That or shift the family focus from the guild to the harem. Is it work? Yes, but it would be an interesting project.

Also there is Lucy who you can nab at Hargeon by helping her with wannabe Natsu. There is also Ultear, Scarlet, Minerva. Really you are spoiled for choice.

>>
>>94710555
No. While it would definitely be a Holder magic (item-based with) that may or may not have some overlap with Enchantment or Requip depending on how it's leveraged, it's not really broad enough to be a specialty even if it is potent enough to be viable for a guild wizard to use. It's definitely a thing one can use, but not quite THE thing they can do without defeating the point of the question (you want to wear just the one suit as a swiss army knife of magical bullshit) by actually making it a proper variant of Requip or some other local magic (have a bunch of different suits or modes that can be overlaid on a onsie that give the proper flexibility at the cost of it no longer being completely centralized to the singular item/form).

A pretamed Mahoraga completely breaks the plot of JJK since he can, by himself, stop the entirety of the Shibuya Incident, with the exception of dealing with Sukuna and MAYBE Kenjaku. Who he still has a crazy advantage over, seeing as Kenjaku's greatest strength is CSM and Big Raga's sword one shots Cursed Spirits.

A free tamed Mahoraga is a unbelievably strong Technique. It almost feels cheap to say he would only be 800CP, but I guess he theoretically falls off later.

Nta but kuma kuma kuma bear onesie is definately broad enough. It heals, has sensory maguc, has tons of boosts to both physical and magical abilities, has infinite timestopped storage, can make magical items, can summon creatures, and can even cast a stupidly large variety of spells so long as they are bear themed. That thing is fucking broken.

Mahoraga doesn't "fall off" unless you're fighting Sukuna or Gojo. Even then they don't "fall off" more than anything else besides, like, Comedian does. Sukuna and Gojo beat everyone because they're stat monsters. The next strongest guy probably isn't even a tenth as physically strong as Gojo or Sukuna.

>>
>>94710736
I mean, it falls off on the sense that it probably stops soloing everything. I can't see Big Raga by himself beating Yuta, Angel or Yuki for example.

But yes, even by the end of JJK, Big Raga alone is still top-tier.
>>
>>94710741
I, personally, like to post a pdf of my chain, but for single jumps I'll just post an image of my jumper, the build, and maybe a single post's blurb of what I loosely plan to do there.

>I can't see Big Raga by himself beating Yuta, Angel or Yuki for example.
>Yuta
He's literally the third strongest dude and it would still be a close fight
>Angel
LMAO! Any credit this fraud had was completely demolished by Sukuna CLIMBING Jacob's Ladder. Her ability won't one-shot Raga so he'll adapt and snap her in half like a twig.
>Yuki
She could be strong enough to kill Mahoraga, but the issue is if she doesn't one-shot him each attack is just gonna make Mahoraga more adapted to her ability and he has strong regen.

You're severely underestimating Mahoraga's stats considering it can survive slashes from 15 finger Sukuna and hits from Gojo. Both those characters are so far above everyone else that it puts his durability as top tier.

It's probably not coming out anytime soon, but I guess now is about as good a time as any to say that I'm working on a Land Before Time jump. Current idea is to have four origins with discounted perks, with item discounts being more free-form, on account of the fact that there aren't really a whole lot of things to be used as items. Origins are as follows:
>Last Hope, based on Littlefoot and his friends.
>Great Guardian, based on Littlefoot's grandparents, Cera's father, Chomper's parents, and the other benevolent adults of the series
>Scheming Scavenger, based on the various villains of the movies. with the exception of the original Sharptooth
>Maniacal Monster, based on the original Sharptooth, pulling from both the movie and the illustrated story version, which gives him a personality, that of someone who enjoys killing for more than just food and can feel the urge for revenge

If you have any requests for perks or items, feel free to share them. Already have one capstone perk in mind, Tyrant King, for Maniacal Monster, that will make you a beast like the original Sharptooth, but I'm open to ideas.
>>
>>94710665
No, it all works out.
Not because of any perks or mind control or anything, I just don't like writing breakups or relationship drama.
>>
>>94711254
We need a Tree-star tree as an item. This is nonnegotiable. Also, maybe an item option where once-per-jump a Stone of Cold Fire crash lands somewhere. I was honestly not expecting aliens to be in one of these movies.
Also, maybe a drawback to make you a suspicious and untrusting old curmudgeon like i remember Cera's dad being.
Otherwise, I don't remember enough about these old movies to say anything in particular I want. Its been so long since I was a kid watching these things religiously. The only other thing I can remember off the top of my head was parts of the "deep deep water" song.
>>
>>94711254
isn't like every second movie about someone overcoming their racism towards a newcomer dinosaur?

Obvious perks would be one that allows you to quickly get accepted by groups you join maybe even with a guaranteed common experience that happens where you can prove yourself towards other.
Another would be just a way to make poeple less bigoted and willing to work together.

Also please dont include a spaceship, I know one appears but its a single queen and really doesen't deserve to be the only significant item.
>>
>>94711254
Sincerely, good luck.
>>
>>94711293

Well a valley of your own would be nice. Maybe some special plants that cure illness like in the valley of the mists, a clutch of dino eggs of whatever species (maybe as an import for companions) a spring of some kind since water shortages was a big thing in one movie, tree star trees, prey for if you are a predator, also am I wrong or were there aliens in one movie?
>>
>>94711254
An import option for your race/species. I mean sure choosing any dino in the show is a wide range but I would kind of like to import some stuff from ark or jurassic park
>>
>>94710721
My point was not about whether it had enough things to do, but that it's not really that suited to FT magic precisely because it's only one thing doing all that random stuff with no further throughline beyond 'is bear'. Stuff like Requip, Takeover Soul, and element Make could definitely be leveraged in similar ways, but you'd be going from those magic styles into bear, whereas the onsie is basically going from bear out to other magics. The problem is that the equipment's working backwards in terms of execution.

Psychic powers suck in 40K because unless you are both well trained and very lucky you will eventually roll snake eyes and get instakilled by a miscast of your own powers.

All of the Primarchs, and especially the one he has a big conflict with, have a resistance to psychic powers. While Magnus is the most directly powerful Primarch in terms of what he can do all that power is concentrated into something that his brothers have a type advantage against and Leman Russ in particular can shrug off very easily.

No, it's a consequence of the remuneration meta. They were paid by the word. That's half of the reason Lovecraft's Cosmic Horror shit has the overwrought prose that it does: he was paid by the word. Still, you're not entirely wrong. One of the things I've become more aware of in the last few years is good editing. What belongs in a story and what's there just to pad or be indulgent. I've become less tolerant of useless padding in the last few years.

The thing that gets me is that they are supposed to hold a valuable message, it's just that actually trying to comprehend what that message is supposed to be is often mind numbing in its...I want to say nihilism, because that's what a story like that told in the modern context would end up communicating. But they're often religious in their explicit text which obfuscates how fucking banal the message is.

Can't decide if I want to start with a small party of Companions (somewhere like FF1 or Pathfinder) or start out alone (maybe in Mana Khemia?) and build the party over time. Also can't decide if I want to lean more towards "antiquarian who knows some magic/alchemy as a consequence" or "wizard/alchemist with a special interest in history, archaeology, paleontology, and other things relating to the past." Wanted to start a new Chain with the new year but I'm just as bad about indecision as ever.

Honestly, I just looked at the list of Jumps I'd made and realized I've never actually worked Azur Lane into a Chain before. I told myself "I should change that sometime." right around the same time there was that New Year, New Chain post yesterday. So I sucked it up and did it. Got my Shipgirls all picked out, including some problem cases because if you're going to start out with so many Companions they can't /all/ fawn all over your right out of the gate.

I thought about including a few OC Shipgirls based on German ships that haven't been represented yet. But that's a lot of research to do and I'd rather just get to the writing.

Tenchi Muyo! has them though you'll have to leave Earth to find one for sale. There's also Chrono Trigger, presumably at least. You can purchase a hovebike for CP but the tech certainly exists to make a hovercar. Pretty sure dragonball also has them. I think one of our fallout jumps also lets you by the highwayman that comes with grav plates, probably FO2 since that's where it first shows up. Star Wars of course and almost certainly Star Trek as well should have plenty of hovercar options, pretty sure Mass Effect has them as well. Iirc it never went into production for some reason but I remember pretty distinctly that in the MCU Howard Stark, Tony Stark's dad, introduced a working hover car prototype at a world fair style event.

Also your webm reminds me that we still don't have a Dirty Pair jump.

>>94712517
I don't know about other people but I've found that if I don't start with a Companion in the 1st jump that I probably won't pick up any companions at all, and that chains w/o companions get dropped by me pretty quickly because there's no one for my jumper to 'play off of' so to speak. As such given the choice between the two I'd start with something like FF1 or Pathfinder rather than starting out solo.

I had to decide between taking a companion of going single for a while. It all depended on if I wanted to start off with a small town as well. In my mind I have a hard time passing up property buys. So I picked the town and took a companion to run it for me as I run around doing my own thing.
On a different chain it was a no brainer because it was Digimon and I ended up with four.

How?
>>
>>94712633
Ok, the thing is, they are more or less the same thing, but different stages of it.

The main idea is that the Ultimate One is a planet's most powerful entity that acts as it's brain/Representative to the Cosmos. It's basically a legal adult.

Meanwhile an Achetype is a baby 'Record' of the planet. It stores stuff about it and can become the Soul of the Planet. Usually it looks like the Prime Species of the Planet, or the ones running the show, for Earth it currently is Humanity.

This is a sort of shitty TL DR. For more info please look up the Type Moon Wiki.

The ARCHETYPE is the BRAIN of a CELESTIAL BODY, it's consciousness TECHNICALLY being as old as the formation of the planet or Oort Cloud itself. They require HIGHLY specific conditions to form such as a stable nearby solar system and a soul that nurtures life. Eventually, the dreams of the Prime Species provide a framework for the Archetype to decide how it wants to LOOK like such as an elegant princess or a nude white-presenting Latina, forming a body for itself. A Prime Species is ALSO potentially capable of forming it's own Archetype, the culmination of it's method for advancement.

An ULTIMATE ONE is simply the final stage of the planetary LIFE CYCLE. When the Prime Species reaches the apex of their civilisation, a natural born Archetype gains the ability to refine it's own form; this is shown by Archetype Earth having the Ultimate One skill as well as her soul being a World Egg instead of a Saint Graph. It is NOT KNOWN if Ultimate Ones form planets of their own. Bear in MIND this is not the only certain outcome, as NOTED a Prime Species can form it's own Archetype independent of the planet, and potentially can also generate a STAR EATER which is a lifeform capable of devouring their planet and travelling from it. Both Kukullkan and Space Eresh claim Kiara is one such example.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, it should be noted that the GENERAL term for Ultimate One (原初の一アルテミット・ワン, Gensho no IchiArutemitto Wan?, lit. Primordial One (Original One)) is DISTINCT from the one used to designate ORT (極限の単独種アルテミット・ワン, Kyokugen no Tandoku-shuArutemitto Wan?, lit. Extreme Single Species). NOTHING has CLARIFIED this distinction, so given that ORT's behaviour of HUNTING and DEVOURING other planets is not KNOWN to correspond to other Ultimate One behaviour one can only assume that ORT is the CUTEST and STRONGEST even among other Ultimate Ones, and would THUS solo Yahweh, Buddha and Yog-Sothoth all at once in a fight.

Ask Vector Prime states some variants of a multiversal singularity can end up being 'disconnected' from the greater whole due to quantum entanglement bullshit creating 'bubbles' around them that prevent them from joining to the totality unless they're exposed to wider multiversal disturbances which will force a joining. It also further clarifies that the versions of Unicron built by Primacron exist separately from the singularity variants without imposing on either.

The whole meta-Primus thing in Singularity Ablyss though means that assuming Unicron has something similar, all evil beings inevitably return to his Anti-Spark in the same way Ablyss implies that all natural life eventually returns to the Matrix or All-Spark.

Definitely going to be adding a tree-star tree as an item. As for the Stone of Cold Fire idea, maybe! Just an item that attracts benevolent aliens to whatever planet you're on, something that makes them want to observe you and see that's going on. But definitely adding a drawback for being a grump like Cera's dad.

>>94711293
It's sort of a running thing, yeah. The original movie was going to include a scene where two separate herds are arguing, one having all the water and the other having all the food, and when the kids point out how they could just share it, they lash out. It got included in the book version, and it's what convinced Cera 'this whole ignoring other herds thing is stupid'. So there will be a drawback based on that and a perk for the Last Hope origin about bridging that gap. As for the spaceship, yeah, I'm not including that. We don't even see enough of it to know what it's like or what it does, so most it'll be is that Stone of Cold Fire idea for attracting aliens.

>>94711295
Thanks, anon! Hope you enjoy the end result.

>>94711318
Thanks for the item suggestions, will definitely be adding those. And yes, it's strongly implied the two dinosaurs in Stone of Cold Fire that told everyone about the stone are aliens, given how they seem to get beamed up before something, most likely their ship, blasts off into space.

>>94711340
Let me think about that one. I'd been kicking around whether to have a species option or not, simply because there's a fuckton of dinosaurs featured, and the species section in Buzz Lightyear of Star Command took up enough pages as is. Plus, certain dinosaurs are just built different, like how the first movie's Sharptooth might as well be Jason Vorhees compared to all the other sharpteeth we see. So that might be better for perks rather than races.
>>
>>94713149
...you know what?
I'm starting to think that become the actual Bayformers Earth was the best thing that ever happened to Unicron lorewise, even if it retcons his cute planetformer sister out of existence. Because Bayformers humanity does a better job of advertising Unicron's malice and corruptive influence than any other media I've ever seen.

>>94711254
I was about to suggest something like the dinosaur ritual that Littlefoot's dad uses to bring back the sun, but then I remembered that dinosaurs are just fucking stupid and in-universe it's probably just a dumb belief.

Probably.

Nope, all of her Chousin stuff is locked away by Tokimi. Everything that Wasu can do is either a result of her learning how to make the tech to do it or learning how to do it herself via psionics. The series author has done a whole bunch of world building stuff but the majority of it is in side materials, many of which aren't translated. Another example of psionic stuff is how Seto has a body double (whose name I forgot, she's got black hair though and shows up in iirc OVA 5) and thanks to psionic shenanigans they can effectively switch minds and share memories over any distance. It's supposed to allow for Seto to do stuff on the sly without people realizing it's her and there's only like a handful of people that know about it. Presumably Seto up everything herself given she is a philosopher (ie: what TM! calls an omni disciplinary super scientist) that used to be best pals with Washu back in the day before she decided to stage her own death and basically start a new life.

It's okay to see the Planeteers as the heroes, because they exist in a setting where without ecoterrorism some sort of nightmarish corporate dystopia ruled by people who actually just want all nonhuman(?) life on the planet to go extinct is apparently running all of society with complete impunity. Like in most episodes these men (and the token villainess) are not actually doing anything explicitly illegal until the very end of the episode where they're caught trying to dig up coal in a native american reservation or something.

You'd need something with major historical, cultural, and economic importance. I'd narrow it down to a capital city of the Old World, versus New York since it wouldn't have much historical significance. Conversely, Rome doesn't have a huge economic importance.

Probably never. They're almost never brought up, and when they are, it's just to handwave away where Unicron and Primus came from in the first place. Maybe I'll learn more as I dig farther into the Marvel comics, but I'm doubtful it'll be anything significant enough to justify actually interacting with The One.

Arguably, the Jumper Force scenario from Transformers Cybertron lets you essentially become The One (If you roll with the explanation that Unicron and Primus are just two halves of The One).
>>
>>94713852
You know what, that's fair. Honestly it's why rock/metal (back when it was a genre that was actually popular instead of something guys do at home/in their local hometown/gets replayed on a station somewhere) never phased me, I respected the honesty of the provocation.

Nta but while I didn't, since I've been taking Primus connections in every jump with a Cybertronian customiser that let you and also resolved the situation in Beast Wars 2/Neo by hoovering up all the spare Unicron energy just lying around, I figured I more or less accomplished the same thing anyway.

...I was about to write something about how I doubted you would actually be The One if as the scenario in Cybertron mentioned you should be considered about the Shroud anyway, but to be fair given how easy Unicron is to harm by a Cybertronian armed with a teeny tiny piece of Primus' power I guess it's fair play to assume that Unicron + Primus is actually kind of a glass cannon cosmically speaking. It's what makes the question of "how do Alternities/Hytherions stack up against Primus/Unicron?" weird to think about, because technically they demonstrate more than enough power than most individual Primus/Unicron manifestations; the only question is how necessary Primus/Unicron energy is necessary to overcome their opposite number, and not only is "being one with every version of yourself in the multiverse" theoretically really convenient for gathering a macguffin but sometimes Transformers just asspull a friendship powerup to win anyway.

And even if you take the "we've never seen the REAL Primus/Unicron" thing seriously, at the lowest possible lowball that just ends up as a True Darkseid situation where Alternities/Hytherions can bat away any individual avatar while the true being sits outside of reality seething.

Mustard.

Do the rest of y'all who make jumps ever have trouble deciding whether something should be a gauntlet or a jump?
>>
>>94714013
No.
>>
>>94714013
It's easy. There's no reason to make something a gauntlet under any circumstances. Anything that would work as a gauntlet could be a jump with a power-loss drawback.
>>
>>94714013
I think something should be a gauntlet if the entire setting (or at least the part of it that matters) is all basically one big challenge with a clear goal in mind. The Binding of Isaac for instance is just some kid's dying hallucination as he suffocates to death in a box but the gameplay is like a video game he's mentally playing. There's no way to turn that into a normal jump and have it make sense or work.
>>
>>94714048
>is just some kid's dying dream
>he didn't play Repentence
Ackshyually his dad got Isaac out and everything is just scary bedtime stories Isaac is telling himself about how his mom ended up

It's usually a pretty instant decision for me. I usually make a Jump a gauntlet for one of three reasons.
>1. Settings that are basically one big challenge or competition (Amazing Island, 10 Billion Wives)
>2. Settings that thematically hinge on you being miserable and helpless (Hellraiser, Maker of Masks)
>3. Settings with one absurd ability I can't figure out how to balance any other way (Braid, Cryostasis)
Admittedly, a number of my Gauntlets I later updated into regular Jumps, since they didn't really benefit other than railroading Jumpers into experiencing the setting in the way I personally preferred, but my point still stands that the initial decision was usually pretty intuitive. The fact that I can go back later and change my mind whenever I want further lowers the weight of the decision.

For what it's worth, a number of Gauntlets follow unconventional pricing schemes. So if you don't want to bother with discounts or origins, gauntlets generally get a lot more wiggle room for that kind of thing.

Nice. Always appreciate a new build.

When Apsu and Tiamat joined together, Anu, Elil, and Ea were the first to arise, and they called out the others, who created themselves from the primordial chaos; Ishtar, Ninurta, Adad, Shamash, Gula, Marduk and Nabu.

Depends on the setting. Working your way up works a lot better in Naruto where the important characters are going to ninja school than it does Bleach where most of the characters are established and have been doing things for decades/centuries and everyone who started at the bottom near the beginning of the story becomes completely irrelevant near the middle.
>>

Alternities and their peers generally aren't quite on the same level as Unicron, given the entire purpose of the Hytherion (which is a peer to the Alternity) was to devour weakened or damaged universes that Unicron or similar forces had destabilized. And given even a sealed Unicron is apparently far beyond the True Star Saber, which can collapse the entire multiverse, to the point it was considered utterly pointless to use it against him, I think he's more than a bit beyond the Alternities/Hytherion.

They are self-created, but created themselves after Tiamat and Apsu began comingling. Alternatively, in some versions, they do still have familial lines of descent, but the Great Gods (particularly Aššur, but the rest too) created their own parents and ancestors before they were born so that they could engender and give birth to them.

I chose to write out the less complicated and confusing version...well, tried.

>>94714160
Funny story. Nasu got his info from SMT (and Barbara), who got it from Barbara Walker, because Barbara Walker's books got translated into Japanese and was somehow one of the most comprehensive comparative mythology text in the Japanese language at the time, giving it a distorted influence on public perception.

>>94714167
>I have two criticisms so far, 1. I feel like the syncretic myth part should be moved to Alternate Cosmologies,
Understandable, but I'd argue there's a thematic difference between the two. Post-Hellenic Syncretic Hellscape is specifically a reference to the extremely syncretic religious belief system(s) that dominated Mesopotamia from the times of Alexander to the 200-400s AD. Its a mess because it was a giant melting pot, but it's a melting pot that actually existed. Alternate Cosmologies is you playing mix and match to make a custom world.

>You have add a few more drawbacks like Tiamat still being alive and after you or something

I do intend to add more drawbacks, and that is a good idea for one. Another I'm thinking over is to have you replace Ilawela, but that might be too harsh since, uh...well, he's the god who was butchered to provide the raw materials to make humanity in Atra-Hasis, and his soul is the life force that animates human bodies and provides them with intellect.

tldr: humanity was made from the flesh of a dead god and our voices are the drumbeat of his ghost.

My mumbling Changelog is at the very bottom, but I DO need your guys input as to what I should end up writing down (for the final time hopefully) for the Mercenary’s 400 item “The Devil’s———“ (going to leave the 2nd part blank until I can finalize the item…again) Appleseed ending abruptly doesn’t leave much room & I might be in a state of over thinking things once again.

Uh...probably depends on whether they're human, demigod, demon, or divine women. Human women who've lived that long are either back from the time when humans used to live centuries or millennia at a time, or they're sorceresses. In the first case, age gap is kinda normal (specific post-flood, pre lifespan shortening humans would be confused on how someone under 100 could be a full grown man), in the second they've already left most societal norms behind to be hermits. For demigods and demons? Probably just the standard cougar x young man dynamic. For goddesses? Really, really depends on the specific goddess.

All of this is assuming that you are, in fact, a full grown man.

>>94714388
It's great to hear that they're excited. I didn't really peg the lack of sleep thing as particularly problematic, since I just kinda conk out at semi-random through the day and night and am perpetually tired, so it's kinda normalized for me.

That's a pretty big oversight on my end. The Princess will definitely be companionable, as will Kim.
It's interesting, because she's the Moon Princess in the original JP version, but the Crystal Princess in the US version, which kind of obliquely implies she'd be Farron's sister. But she doesn't actually do anything but stop being a butterfly, give you the Moon Mirror, and then fuck off to parts unknown.

The ability of the Average Jumper(tm) to answer the question "What is a woman" puts said Jumper head and shoulders above the vast majority of American academics.

>Rebellious Child of Anu description
Well see, now I'm half tempted to be a half-demon who's less evil than his sister, doing things like making men ambitious and seeking to become stronger and stronger.
>"Jumper, you must know there are limits on mortals for a reason..."
>"I reject that order! I shall grow stronger, and show shall all who live under the shadow of my wings! I shall not accept the petty dreams of weak men, only the dreams of those who would dare to rise against the world itself!"
>"You are a fool, my son! But...at least your actions are for the empowerment of others. Unlike your sister..."
>"Hey now, I'm 'conquer the world' evil, not 'baby killing' evil. There is a difference."
>>
>>94714494
Jumper's explanation: A long time ago, like at the beginning or whatever, there were just men living in gay harmony. But one dude hated other men. He found men and butt stuff disgusting. He attempted to remake men in his image. He used his powerful sorcery to transform these men into demonic creatures known as "Woman", vile monsters who feed off semen and attention. He was able to transform half of all men into these beings before he was finally stopped. With his final breath, he cursed men and women to be mortal and able to reproduce with each other. This meant that for "humans" as they were now called to survive, they had to live together and reproduce with one another, ending the age of gayness.
>>
>>94714420
Well, the big one is that your jump seems to completely ignore the existence of several entire culture groups in the region that were present at the same time as the Assyrians, namely the Hittites and the Mitanni(though I can't fault you too much for that one since there are only secondhand accounts of the Mitanni empire left in the present, they were still a large and powerful entity in the region of the fertile crescent to the north-west of Babylon and the Assyrians), and, like, you don't even imply that they exist and leave it up to interpretation what their deal is, you just sort of paper over the existence of other culture groups entirely and fail to mention them by name.
>>
>>94714115
Why does Mortal King give points, while Sage cosfs points? If you were a Mortalk King, you would receive your own freebies for free. Then you could purchase four freebies from both Hero and Sage for the same price it takes to be a Sage. Since those origins don't have inherent advantages baked into the origin like Demon and God do, presumably you're just paying for discounts, which isn't really a good way to balance the jump since Mortal King also has its full suite of perks.
>>
Has your jumper ever pitted countries against each other from behind the scenes?
I start wars in between empires in jumper's personal realms all the time.

>>94714541

That's a fair point, though I think we might be talking past each other somewhat. When I set out to make this Jump, I was mostly looking at it through the lens of the Sumerians, Akkadians, and their successor cultures. Like you say, the Hurrians in general and the Mitanni in particular were present in Mesopotamia for quite some time, and left a large influence on the region. The issue here is that, to my knowledge, the Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, and Assyrians didn't really acknowledge the Hurrians in general and the Mitanni in particular, as far as their contributions to their cultural and religious sphere.

Ishtar of Arbella and Ishtar of Nineveh for example were probably Hurrian goddesses before they were absorbed into the Assyrian pantheon, but to my understanding that wasn't something the Assyrians themselves acknowledged. And since I was looking at it as a project for the aforementioned culture's myths and faith, I didn't really feel the need to note that, in the same way that if I was writing a Jump for the Homeric/Hesiod(ic?) Myths/Poems, I wouldn't feel the need to mention that Poseidon was once more prominent than Zeus in Mycenaean times.

As for the Hittites, that was just me not including them because, while there's overlap in both deities worshiped and cultural interaction, they're geographically outside Mesopotamia and have a distinct enough cosmology and sheer number of known deities that I didn't feel comfortable just, shoving them in.

Now, I did intend to write more areas in the Locations and Times going into the historic period, that would've made note of groups like the Mitanni and Hittites (I did write the Bronze Age Collapse jump), but I promised to have a Jump out today...well, yesterday since it's 1 Am for me, so I cut that for this version.

That being said, it would've still been from the perspective of the predominant Sumero-Akkadian view of the world. To them, groups like the Mitanni and Hittites were semi-civilized foreigners, either living on the untamed periphery (Hittites) or intruding upon the civilized center, while worshiping a pantheon composed of foreign "lesser" gods along with the Great Gods/Anunna.

At least, if you look at it from the perspective of royal chronicles and inscriptions, who have their own biases...but one of the basic premises of these sorts of jumps is that we're treating the beliefs, stories and superstitions of a group as objectively true, to some extent at least.

Tbqh if you're going to care about regional belief systems that far, you risk spreading the jump so thinly that you have to end up writing Tarhun as being a peer to Anu and Hannahanna's bee story being as important as the Enuma Elish. I think that's fair for the Hittites because they're not actually in Mesopotamia, but the Mitanni are right there. They even worship a bunch of the same gods.

>But be warned, if you act outside your orders, and go up to the world above to take those who are not yet fated to die, then your ability to bind greater beings is limited. Whereas a lone Gallû might bind a middling god in the service of your duty, if you seek to do it merely for your own interests it might take seven of you to do the same, and Great Gods could yet slaughter twice that many acting outside their authority. Mortals, though, are not so lucky. You merely need to approach a mortal and place your hand upon them, and you can rip their spirit from their body and drag them down to Kur.
After the jump, how does this work? Do you need to companion Ereshkigal/presumably some other OC underworld goddess to give you orders so it works at max function?

Yeah, uh, a majority of the destruction events attributed to them as evidence of their existence were proven erroneous and false so. >>
>>94714733
Since you're a Gallû, you're considered to be acting in your authority as long as you're enforcing the laws of the Underworld. Whether they be the laws of Kur, or the local equivalent. The same applies to the orders of any death or underworld deity.

>If nothing else, a good excuse to dive back into the literature.
Yeah, a problem that has been made apparent was that everyone was siting an older publication that was itself basically making shit up. Like it took a long list of locations where supposedly large upheaval had occurred and simply dated them all as happening at exactly the same time...without doing any evidence gathering to support the dating or even the true extent of the damage. So a lot of documentation around the Bronze Age Collapse is built around an unproven assertion that was simply not questioned enough.

Basically in Egypt there's this one account of an invasion from over the sea where I believe it's Ramses II who successfully defeats them and drives them off. This single bit of record was used to justify a fucking shitload of other events, real and imagined, all around the Mediterranean at the time, collectively referred to as the Bronze Age Collapse.
The thing a lot of historians failed to realize was that this was straight up Pro-Ramses propaganda, and that the Sea Peoples didn't exist as anything more than a bunch of disparate migrants who had always been in area as Egypt's neighbors, people like the Sheridan who iirc literally had a military alliance with Egypt and are recorded as having fought together with them in wars against other groups who were randomly lumped together with them as enemies Ramses defeated.
It's kind of like lumping together the Jews together with the Maya and saying they're both conspiring against you(this actually happened in Central America, for some reason the conquistadors were so racist they actually thought the natives were Jews).

>>94714848
Hm. This reminds me I need to edit Divine Bureaucrat and Eight Who Decree...but anyway!

So, it's a bit tricky. [A Body Made after Anu], the physical oriented form of [Son of the Storm, Whose Breath is Death] and [A Divine Body] are all roughly comparable in physical stats, mostly. In raw strength and durability, [A Divine Body] mildly outdoes the other two, but someone with either of those is still a threat on purely physical stats. [A Body Made after Anu] excels over the others in speed, due to the anecdote of Gilgamesh running faster than the Sun's ray at the bottom of the ocean (might be misremembering the specifics).

[Son of the Storm, Whose Breath is Death] gives a demon comparable spiritual strength to a baseline god with their free perks, while a demon with only [Rebellious Child of Anu] is getting the same raw spiritual strength as one with the previous perk, but also fairly better physicals and the advantages of being a god. If a demon has both perks, then they're essentially twice as strong spiritually, and nearly twice over where they'd be otherwise physically. Note that [A Numinous Power] and [A Divine Body] can only be acquired either through the God(dess) origin, or [Rebellious Child of Anu]. You could then further buff that by also purchasing [A Body Made after Anu], though you'd be better served getting [Great Prince of Heaven] which has the second best physicals by a wide margin...except speed.

multiple former kings in the past have been people isekaid from our world who used their power to take over things, and quite a few of them insisted on introducing english as a spoken language, which many people of higher status and the clergy learn as its considered a a divine language or something.

"AHH! AFTER ONE THOUSAND YEARS, I'M FINALLY FREE!" I shrieked at nobody in particular. The hot hair balloon, wreathed with enchanted amulets of deepest darkness, suspended in the eye of a hurricane, and surrounded by golden automata cursed to shoot down anything that fell from on high all shattered beneath the brilliance of my power. "TIME TO CONQUER NEOPIA!"

"AHH! AFTER ONE THOUSAND YEARS, I'M FINALLY FREE!" echoed a different, dark-aligned fairy who just finished bursting out of the ocean. "TIME TO CONQUER-wait who are you?"

"I am the Bright Fairy, lord and master of this world!"

"No fair! I deserve to conquer this world and-wait, men can't be fairies"

"Anything is possible if you believe in yourself! Look, let's be civilised about this. What do you want?"

"I want to crash two kingdoms into each other!"

"Right, right, and then what?"

"..."

"What do you mean, and then what?! I'll be remembered as the ULTIMATE KINGDOM CRASHER! MWAHAHA!"

"Hmm, I see. So you ONLY want to be remembered for crashing a mere TWO kingdoms, and only ruling ONE world? How modest"

After some negotiation and villain-befriending perks, we agreed to split the difference between a WORLD OF LIGHT and a WORLD OF DARKNESS and settle for some sort of grey thundercloud-filled world.
...

Several days of institutional reform, installing flying trains everywhere and general application of light magic later, the world was drowned in storm clouds and the entire system of monarchy had been abolished for eternal theocratic rule. Even my would-have-been rival overlord was easy to keep on a leash once appeased with a deluge of EVIL ego-stroking propaganda plays, musicals and illustrated novels about how rather than crash a mere two kingdoms into each other, we'd just drowned them all in storms and spread our reign even beyond the bounds of just one world.

There is a reason I took Fairy with Unclear: https://bookofages.jellyneo.net/characters/211/

Pretty much. Bodybuilders are not actually all that strong. Especially not on the day of competition, because on the day of competition they've cut way more than is healthy and also massively dehydrated themselves. Bodybuilding, which is where we see the closest analogues to that physique, is about appearance and not strength. It is not a strength sport. Yeah they are strong, they work out a lot, but they aren't actually optimizing for performance they are optimizing to look impressive. If you look at power lifters and strongmen, which are actual strength sports, they tend to look a bit different. They'll still have very developed upper bodies but the arms in particular tend to be less impressive proportionally than you'll see on bodybuilders. They don't care about how big their bicep is. The torso also tends to be less of a perfect V, because they'll have a more developed core. Particularly strongmen, a lot of them look pretty damn chunky actually. You gotta have a really well developed lower back. I don't know as much about powerlifters since that isn't my thing, but I can give you some names for world class strongmen and you'll see that they don't have the super pronounced V, and while they have big arms the arms aren't as big proportionally. But you also have to keep in mind that every last one of them is on a shit ton of gear too.

"Alright my brother from an unknown mother" said Farron anxiously, as we faced the treacherous castle before us, "the journey ahead's going to be long and hard, and you may not have your own cool guardian animal mentor figure, but I'm sure that if the two of us work together we'll be able to take back our rightful thrones! Now c'mon, adventure aw-"

COME FORTH INFERNAL BEASTS, I spoke in the One Language. Farron staggered and nearly fainted as words not meant for mortal ears imposed new concepts on the world.

Instantly every demon in the castle spilled out, giving me the abashed look of children caught with their hands in the cookie jar as the force of the One Language and all my demon authority perks bent their knees. I demanded to speak with the manager, until finally Zaras came out grovelling from the castle.

"You are trespassing on private property" I told him.

"Yessir, very sorry sir-"

"Things are going to be very different around here. Hell is going to pay reparations, or so help me I will sink your entire realm into Yomi Wan and you can contend with all the other demons working off their debts to me"

"N-no! Let's be civilised about this!"

"Glad to hear it. You can start by putting back everything the way you found it."

And then I just walked back in, confused prince in tow, and started supervising the demonic refurbishment of our home. Taking the opportunity to add a second basement and some extra minarets.

>>
>>94715100
Do you think people actually pay for builds?
>>
>>94715075
Yep, the intent for the drawback was to leave it open enough to justify different styles of doomed monsters. You'd be required to feed more than a regular succubus to keep it in line with the drawback, but having it be demon themed instead is totally valid.

Alright, my Jumper accidentally created Sword Logic. Complete with built-in backdoor to drain others of their Logic as they build it up, a Tithing system, and even the capacity to forge Throne Worlds based on your own logic and beliefs once you git gud enough. They have never visited Destiny and don't even realize that this is what they made.

What do I do with it now?
>>
>>94715105
No, but the way things are now, basically every jumpmaker gets one (1) free Shard build per jump no matter what. I've even seen jumpmakers complain about not getting their Shard build. It's an underrated facet of the Jumpchain economy that doesn't get enough attention.
>>
>>94715110
Well why'd they do it? I can't tell you what you should do with it if I don't know why they made it in the first place. I can only assume you achieved that goal and are looking for the next but I still need the explanation as background to figure out the next steps.

Jumper was in A Practical Guide To Evil, and almost entirely coincidentally came into conflict with the Drow there. The Drow have Night, which is basically like proto-Sword Logic but is explicitly incomplete. Jumper fought and killed the Drow as well as Sve Noc (this was Jump 40 in the chain, so this was fairly simple for them), but preserved Night out of sheer curiosity on account of being a scientist. Later on they would encounter Elves, who have the power of Assertion; elves in this universe who grow old enough (more than a thousand years) form an internal Domain (a self-contained reality) that allows them to ignore one (1) rule of reality at a time. This lets them do things like ignore space to cross vast distances instantly, run on water, turn into mist, be utterly imperceptible, so on and so forth. The elves, being comically xenophobic, hated being encountered at all and Jumper had to fight and kill them as well-but preserved the power of Assertion for later study.

Finally, Jumper encountered the Gigantes-basically magical giants. They DIDN'T immediately try to kill Jumper (on account of Jumper having recently killed off all the dwarves and thus the Gigantes were understandably afraid for their lives) and agreed to give Jumper lessons in their form of magic: Ligurian Sorcery. Ligurian Sorcery allows one to align themselves with existence on a fundamental level to form a second soul out of sunlight, which in turn grants them power and immortality.

Jumper mashed together the principles of Night, Assertion, and Ligurian Sorcery to create Deep Night; Night forms a Second Soul that aligns with the user's own natural soul and is fed by time passing/acting on one's nature to increase the strength of their "pattern", or by killing people and generating Night that way. This forms an internal Domain that strengthens them, which eventually proceeds to an external Domain as one's Deep Night reaches its zenith to form their own unique reality.

By that metric are we not already pretty much dead? We have few new jumpmakers and have lost a whole bunch of them. There's basically half a dozen left at this point for all intents and purposes.
>>
>>94715154
Not really. We have enough that we just got like 20 jumps for Christmas, and people are still posting more for New Year's. What we do have is less namefags who post constantly with their trip on, so it DOES /feel/ more dead.
>>
>>94715147
>>94715122
>>94715126
As for how Jumper introduced the Tithe system and backdoor, that has to do with how Deep Night is formed: by using Ligurian principles of song Jumper created a "Midnight Song" where each Deep Night user gifts a seed of Night to a new host, creating a backdoor that connects lesser to the greater. This allows the greater to draw in Night from the lesser, allowing them to grow strong on the Night from them. As Jumper is the initial and only source of Deep Night, they therefore have an intrinsic backdoor to all Deep Night users that will exist in the future-allowing them to not just take power from them, but outright manipulate their power and even shut down their powers if Jumper feels like it.

Jumper created this purely out of curiosity-they're a scientist and wanted to see what the "completed" form of Night would look like, because Night is canonically incomplete and in APGTE it only gets completed when Catherine freely gifts Sve Noc the power of Winter. Jumper couldn't do that, so they made their own version. And it just ended up becoming Sword Logic.

It kind of makes sense that Harry Potter wizards are such retards. Like 90% of their classes are magic-based. Very few of them study study logic, history, mathematics, or literature and those who do usually took them as electives (i.e. they're optional). So almost every wizard is effectively operating on a high-school level education at best, more likely sub-high school and possibly even sub-middle school. No one even taught them geometry, let alone critical thinking skills.

As to the point you were trying to make I maintain that a once a year burst of activity is not enough to consider the hobby healthy. This lwvel of activity will not be maintained. Most of these contributors will disappear. The average thread will be shot and new jumps will be few and far between. That's been the pattern and there is no reason to believe that will change this year just because you're ridding the holiday high right now.

Create a system that takes in humanity's negative emotions and makes progressively more powerful monsters on a regular basis, then give the not-Sword Logic to young Japanese girls. Accessing their power also transforms their clothes into overly designed dresses of different colors (one color scheme per girl).
Jumper must also assume the form of a cute animal or mascot in order to offer the girls access to the system.
With this, Jumper can clean the world from evil and teach young girls the power of trust, friendship and yuri.
Alternatively just make the same, but the monsters appear in sub-dimensions only accessible by randomly appearing portals, the energy to create them is farmed from the planet's life force and you grant the power system to random people.

Well, I AM visiting JJK next jump and have this whole plan involving Shikigami, Cursed Spirits, and Sailor Moon Youma that I've been cooking up in the back of my mind, so...it's surprising but I can actually kinda do that. The big problem I've been having is figuring out how to cap a Youma's potential power, since Youma in Sailor Moon don't seem to really have a limit to how strong they can grow as long as they keep draining enough lifeforce. I was vaguely hopeful that Cursed Spirits might have a built-in limit that would work to help me figure out how to avoid turning my artificial Youma into sapient black holes, but Gege never actually explained whether or not Cursed Spirits can grow stronger over time so...

>If you want to be truly human (an alien creature in these parts, to be sure)
I think this is debatable. Humans owning Neopets is considered fairly common, with dedicated adoption centers for humans to pick up new ones. Even if you don't count owners for some reason, Sacrificers and Ski Lodge Murder Mystery are both human centric plots, and their are staff member altador cups every year. You don't actually have to change it, but I thought I should point it out.

Could you include a list of valid colours in the Notes section? Can species modifiers be applied to other alt-forms post-jump?

Legend of Altador is very clunky. I get you are trying to include everything, but perhaps rewrite it and put some of that stuff in the notes. For example, I don't think you are actually offering being a Faerie with that perk, since there is a proper option for it earlier, but you list it as an example of the kind of thing the perk could do for you.

Could you have each of your companions buy Jerdana's Charms, and then have their sceond copies merged/imported into a single one? Would that connect that single one and each of the other charms individually, or create a communal effect that brings all of them together? Why is Illusen's Charm a tier above it, does it do anything extra?

Why do you need to be Faerie to choose Faeries for Upon This Rock?

Could you include a list of valid Petpet choices in the Notes as well?

Thanks for the jump!

They kinda do? Their CTs improve over time, as confirmed by Not!Geto when talking about then limits of Cursed Spirit Manipulation. They also can go through a larval form into an adult form, and some are alive for quite some time accumulating strength (I think this is pretty much only a thing said very early in the series).

Set pieces were great
Officially canonized Isolation
Helped show how awful WY is outside of their retarded obsession with the xenomorphs
Main character and her 'brother' had a pretty believable bond
The facehugger birth scene was great
Bjorn's death was fantastic
Scorched was great as an antagonist, the scene in the hangar and then in the elevator really showed how intelligent the xenos are
Everything about the hybrid was pretty disturbing
The callbacks weren't too obnoxious
Despite obviously being a stand in for an autistic person, Andy was pretty cool

It’s like being American and having GRIT and being a daredevil loose canon (but not so loose that you actually go against the government), or being French and falling in love even when it fucks over your life, or being Russian and depressed. Some things are just expected. In China, you’re expected to either immediately cultivate to the apex or die a dog’s death.
>>
>>94715365
That's in general with jujutsu, as long as you have a technique, enough CE and you're sapient you can make a DE, as it's simply a barrier technique, wich spirits can learn, at worst it can be difficult because of a lack of talent, but CS can learn things just like humans.

Established interdimensional hegemony. Unlike most jumpers I do not cart around an empire the size of galaxies but I do maintain facilities for multiversal transit, and I use these to connect semi-independent paramilitary outfits across many different worlds together, employing sub-networks of teleporters to simplify their logistics.
With the combined technologies and manpower of over a thousand worlds, no single one can stand any chance of meaningfully opposing our goals of dominion. We do not need to conquer what we can simply acquire through investiture, and we can leverage effectively unlimited resources to the end of economic ascendency.
Teyvat never stood a chance. No one ever does.
>>
>>94715414
>Unlike most jumpers
Anon, Shard is not the Jumper standard. Having semi-independent paramilitary outfits across many different worlds together with teleporter support is already a lot more than the actual, non-meme, average Jumper has. In the end of the day, most Jumpers are actually pretty happy with a kingdom with the contiguous mass of the solar system at best.
>>
>>94715421
No, I do believe most jumpers actually have far, far more than that simply from Stellaris.
>>
>>94715403
it's a mix of luck, with your innate technique, CE reserves, CE output and eventual HR, six eyes, or freak bodies, and in part is ability, in barrier techniques, binding vows, shikigami, RCT, various cursed techniques not innate, application of your CE. It is to rmember that even that second part is impacted by talent, and you can be talented in one things but not in another, like Yuta who has trash efficency but he's talented in RCT.
>>
>>94715431
>or freak bodies
Just being really athletic is already a massive boost, since the basic CE application is to boost your stats.
>>
>>94715425
Okay but does everyone go to Stellaris tho
>>
>>94715403
nta but Gojo himself says like 80% of your potential is decided at birth, a large portion of which is your technique. If Takaba had to actually engage with the mechanics of jujutsu he'd probably be trash but because his ability is the most OP technique ever he just sidesteps the issue altogether. Your CE amount is decided at birth and everything else is just training and how fast you learn/what your potential is. Like, most dudes just straight up aren't good enough to learn things like RCT or simple domain, let along Domain Expansion (which you'd need a technique for regardless)
>>
>>94715437
Yes, but I would put that in the second category, since most people can train, even if to a different degree, I was referring more to something like Yuji or Sukuna there.

Oh a good few things for one of my more recent ones. Joining the adventurers guild in mondstadt and learning how to fight properly and glide with that worlds gliders, He Wrote a critique of some of the flaws in Liyues system of operating that wasn't really received well drawing from experiences in his own world he saw parallels in as a warning. It wasn't really received well and pretty much dismissed, He went to inazuma for a while and basically cleared up the ghost island in its southern region in the place of the main character doing it and kinda got depression for a while because of it. It was a good thing overall though putting them to rest.
Travelled to sumeru and kinda kept sneaking into their main library to study and kinda got roped into helping the main story progress by freeing Nahida.
Eventually around that time he starts to realize just how much importance the world seemingly places on vision holders and how their "Special" in the eyes of the gods. and tries not to get a little bitter he never was given one of is own.
Moved onto fontaine after making the unwise decision to travel through sumerus desert to reach it. He practically drank a river by the time he reached the land of hydro. While there he tried to do some work, help out the underclasses that don't really get dwelled on story wise. Kinda ended up helping the Not said outloud Mob for a while since they were one of the few actually helping the poor that wasn't just a underwater prison. So he eventually took a vacation deciding to go to Natlan... only to be caught in the Abyssal invasion of it in his first week visiting that sends him scrambling to save as many people as he can despite being a relatively mundane human. That left some PTSD admittedly.
He ended the Jump feeling quite fond of the world but also like he'll never be able to fit in properly no matter where he goes even if he truly wants to.

I have a few questions about the Undertale jump if you don't mind.

1) Do you succeed the Fallen Down scenario if you break the Barrier in some other (pacifist) way?

2) On the other hand if we choose the canon route, is there anything in the jump stopping chain failure if you die and someone else rewinds the timeline?
Because it seems to me like you wouldn't have to worry about the normal part of the game or the Asriel fight, but that still leaves Omega Flowey. Where he destroys your SAVE file and you actually die, and only keep coming back because of Flowey's "I'll SAVE over your own death. So you can watch me tear you to bloody pieces... Over, and over, and over..."

3) What is your Determination like if you pick Never Give Up + True Hero as a Human? Undyne melted before she died, after all...

4) Do the Locket and Knife depend exclusively of your mental state, and do they keep buffs across LOADs and RESETs? Because LOVE was a measure of your mental state and willingness to hurt, but wasn't EXP execution points or something like that? Would it be possible to raise their power through high EXP and low LV?

Pretty high. You could only really compete with Frisk if you chose to fight them and they almost killed you though.

EXP and LV are abstractions representing your mental state (or maybe Frisk/Chara's mental state). In-universe if someone like Frieza fell into Undertale his LV would automatically be 20 or even higher because he has no issues hurting people and will kill and torture just for fun.

One guy near the top of the thread implied I was a pedo for saying the series was weird about the kids.

I feel like there were a few mundane jumps with ones but I can't recall which one.

Anyway Generic Universal Monster maybe? Those movies are generally pretty low power, and the Back from the Graves perk is fairly open ended.

Nta but

Exp specifically only quantify how much pain you already inflicted.

True, but LV is the only one that matters anyway since all EXP does is increase LV.

Two votes for the supplier then, if no additional votes are made by the end of the thread that’ll be the 400cp item for the Mercenary Specialization.

Genuinely glad that you like the OCs anon

Most 1-ups seem to come with the implicit assumption that they void chainfail for each "charge" provided by their purchase. Most jumps go out of their way to clarify if resurrection prevents or doesn't prevent chainfai in settings where it's common. I think it's usually treated as inherent to the 1up.

That's not saying what you seem to think it is.

Thank you.

I knew LV was like that, but EXP too? Oh well, there goes the idea of making it stronger at a slower but more harmless pace by going to a place with mindless or actually evil monsters to rack up the execution points without raising your willingness to hurt others.

In that case, my build might end up beings something like
Human - 600
Dodging Bullets - 100/Free
Ever Vigilant - 100/Free
Mercy - 200/100
Judge - 200/100
Never Give Up - 400/200
Cheating - 600/300
Pie - 100/Free
Flower Garden - 100/Free
Monster Phone - 200/100
Narrator
Good Friends
Fallen Down Scenario
Pacifist +200
Fight! +200

The greatest dilemma will probably be what scenario reward to choose, but it'll probably depend on whether I have out of jump methods of fixing Asriel.

I also considered discarding the Monster Phone and getting World's Worst Chef and Easiest Enemy for some other 600cp stuff instead of the Locket and Knife (which are probably relatively useless for a 1HP Pacifist run). But True Hero is probably a bit redundant if you get the super-Determination of the scenario, I don't *think* even Soul Science+Royal Science could restore Asriel... I wasn't sure enough of any of the options to commit to it. So I went for quality of life over extra cp this time.

Normally, but the item seems to imply that it scales with BOTH. Which could add some flexibility even if the amount of pain you inflict and your willingness to inflict pain are NORMALLY linked.
