I feel like a weirdo since everyone's favorite Chaos gods seem to be Khorne and Slaanesh, but I love Tzeentch and Nurgle. I find Khorne's lore and aesthetic vapid (no hate to the players though, you guys tend to be really good painters) and Slaanesh is just such a generic "bad guy" god. People seem to hate Tzeentch because they, as the audience, know how bad he is and don't understand why anyone would work with him. In my view, most people in the lore have very little knowledge so as they fall into Tzeentch corruption they feel greater senses of hope and accomplishment. Nurgle on the other hand seems more populist, he appeals to basic needs of love and avoidance of pain. Nurgle gives the sick, the ugly, and the simple a seemingly loving community. Seems like a lot of IRL cults to me.

I've been painting some trench crusade stuff and as much as I like 40ks stuff I gotta say it's extremely refreshing to paint models without such a crazy amount of detail. Detail creep especially in small troops is so real and painting 40k stuff gets exhausting when you have to paint a bunch of it. Current Ork boyz have like fucking HQ level of detail.
