Anons, I come here to ask for your help in making (or at least, thinking about) an OC. I had the idea of a dungeon-crawling fantasy OC about delving into hell>limbo>heaven. More technical help such as spellchecking, thinking of systems etc. Well, help with lore tidbits/perks and whatnot would also be welcome.

It is inspired by Magnagothica: Maleghast and of course, Dante's Inferno, and one of the main mechanics I thought was that everyone going into the dungeon is some sort of warlock, making pacts with Big Demons in exchange for power to go into the unknown depths of the dungeon.

I'm a hack, so this is all I have (for now).

If you want general advice for having it be successful here, the big three are:
1. A compressed setting that encourages interaction.
2. Build variety.
3. Flexible options, or options that can easily be reflavored. The most successful MPs are things that let the players build some of their own abilities, but importantly do so within defined limits. Limited freedom is the greatest fuel for creativity.

Make sure to allow for half-demons/monsters/angels.

For now, I have three classes of Warlock for this:

Warlocks: The titular Warlocks, summon shadows of their demon patron/diminished versions of him and his forces to attack. Think of them like Shin Megami Tensei demons you summon to your side.

Ubersmench /Panzersmench: Ubersmench comes in two varieties. It involves selling part of your soul to gain a demonic limb or transformation and thus becoming linked to your Demon patron.
Panzersmench uses Hell's technology to enhance yourself to survive the trials of Hell itself, making a contract with Hell itself Doom Dark Age type of technology, not 40k's Daemon Engines type of technology..

Ubersmench also has a variety where you cut off your own limb and get it as demonic. It comes with a buttload of trauma, but no contract for those who are "too good to sell their souls".

Kalcheis: The Titular Mages of this place, are more like the classic warlocks channeling the power of their Demon patrons to shoot magic and Eldritch Blast. Also, they basically Liches using Demon Flavored Skins.


I don't have much for this OC yet, but I'm willing to work on it and work quickly.

Well, Demons are just the main patrons, but I can work something like Chiron or the Judges of Hell and other characters that appear in the epic.
What I thought is that to survive on your way down to hell, you kind of need to sell your soul to something to survive, kind of how in Made in Abyss people like Ozen and Bondrewd went to great lengths to have their prowess/go deeper into the abyss.

Well, it is Dante's Inferno, so reaching heaven through hell and purgatory would be the objective. Underneath Hell is Limbo, and further down is Heaven.
I thought of you not dying for hell in the dungeon/hell, so the demon contracts would be colorful things like: "If you step on a crack on the floor, you will feel your entire bloodline's shame all at once" and that type of creative punishments for whimsical creatures who play with souls.
So: The main objective is getting through hell to reach heaven, kind of like Dante's Inferno (The Epic Hack 'n' Slash game), and Satan is the final boss of the dungeon.

It fits less with Dante's inferno but Fae also make pacts. Anyway sacrifices for power as a theme are not a problem, but the kind of sacrifice being all the same like this is a bit restrictive, as well as the fact they are all demonic. I think angels are a bit too important to be relegated to a single perk considering where the endpoint is, I assume Purgatory and Heaven are not going to be just a peaceful stroll either. I feels a bit too samey for an MP, just adding 3 soft factions would make variety better. Trinity is a big theme of the epic after all, Hell/Purgatory/Heaven each with a spiral pattern mirroring the others, 3 factions make sense. In the same way I guess the 3 classes you mentioned also make sense, with the whole trinity thing.

I thought of the builds starting at some sort of Demonic City/Cathedral inside of the dungeon, and that city sinks a little lower into hell every time someone manages to go a little deeper. So lots of backstabbing/interactions with all sorts of people while in Sodom and Gomorrah analogs.
I think some revelation type of shit for angels would be cool. "Yeah, go there and kill demons. Do God's will down there" rather than trying to redeem sinners (Since they are in hell, and not Purgatory just yet.

Limbo and purgatory are not the same thing. Limbo is the -1th layer of hell, where souls wait to be judged and where unbaptized kids are stuck. Purgatory is a spiral mountain where souls need to repent and slowly make their way to heaven. By the way it has a mirrored structure to hell, where the lightest sins are at the top, the first circle of hell is lust, the last floor of purgatory is lust and so on.

Takako doesn't bring anything out of the ordinary, but some things of note are a pen collection, several records and CDs, an expensive audio system, a tree for bonsai, and a training dummy. If she wants to get in proper practice, then she'll go the distance to the facilities provided by the school, but it's not rare for her to need some venting. Calligraphy and traditional paintings will hang alongside framed posters of musicians she enjoys. The room will otherwise have a general sense of orderliness.

There's not much to be said about her preferences for a roommate beyond it being a bad idea to pair her with a slob. She considers into a dorm a stright downgrade form her current living situation and is against the idea of having to share a room. She'll will push back against it every step of the way, but doesn't care much about her roomie as as long as they don't make a fuss about her music. The only (reasonable) accommodations she might want are for her pet since it's not likely that the room will be torn and build back up with maximum audio quality in mind before she moves in.

I think a more grounded, but still fantasy approach. I thought of Beelzebub being kind of a mass of maggots, flies, and putrified meat, he is one of the highest demons around, but is nothing like "I blow a mountain" and more like:

Writefag itself doesn't go deep into detail for this, so the tl;dr is that he was quietly offering his services in a small clinic in one of the nice sides of town, only for some Red Finger goons to raid the place to kidnap/forcefully recruit him. Lixdite can't do art but he also doesn't want to trick the teacher. He would use his tail as a brush, it kinda counts, and attempt to paint a mountain range. His reasoning being that even if his painting sucks he at least was creative in making it. He will attempt to use wind too but I would assume someone would stop him from sending ink all over the classroom.

Ok I'm writing something for Michelson based around Ian, but I want opinions before putting it into writing/canon.
the plan is that Michelson takes over as Ian's "Commanding Officer" but he doesn't actually care about ordering him around. When getting admitted to a Hero course, you'd have likely have to submit papers from the Quirk Registration Service (or whatever the name of that was). Early on, the kids would also likely talk about their Quirks, like when picking names, and in the case of the former 1D, they also introduced them during the Fight Dub Club. There are cases where some details might be omitted (Chris's memory issues) or a whole admission process might have been bypassed if you're a glowy (Sandatsu's Quirk was said to have been some form of a body modification rather than stealing Quirks when people die; but tbf, after what happened there, Karaburan would likely be extremely weary about admitting students like that and would vet them more).

I see. I am still trying to figue out how much of this is classic hero stuff and how much is considered normal. If quirks are treated like medical records it makes sense I guess. I know the scholl must have something, they would not admit someone with absolutely no informations, but I was not sure how much. I think the point I wanted to make still makes sense, Lixdite only just learned about his Blood Boost, and just realized that being able to tell exactly who is injuried in a pretty big radius around him is not normal. He is worried to be seen as even more creepy so he will (poorly) try to keep hidden the fact that he gets stronger when offered blood. It would make no sense if everyone already knows everything but like this I can make it work.

nta, but the idea of them being private citizens is kind of interesting. Normal students surely are, and I'd imagine it extends to hero school students until graduation, but pro heroes aren't quite private citizens. They're a really weird mash-up of public servant and celebrity, and I could see a big push towards making their records public. I could also see the line of thought where the sophomores on up who have a license might have some aspects of their records public as part of being a quasi-Pro Hero.

Although personally I'd imagine that heroes have their quirk details kept confidential for the simple reason that you don't want to broadcast their weaknesses to all the villains of the world. I could even see the line of thought where their birthplace and real name are confidential to prevent attacks against their homes and families. Or maybe it's a case-by-case basis with different levels and kinds of confidentiality based on the needs of the hero in question. Could even be one of the factors that impacts ranking performance, where heroes without much to hide have an easier time climbing and the ones that agree to go underground have an easier time getting contracts with more confidentiality.
