>>94764555>Triple CheckedTQ suggested by >>94745963Sause of the art there is a Slovakian artist that goes by the handle x-Celebril-x. You can find more of her art by following the link below:https://www.deviantart.com/x-celebril-x/art/Commission-dragon-519756874
>>94764590This art reminds me quite a bit of Drakengard's Ending E, but with way less weird shit going on. Yoko Taro is fucking wild.
>>94764555not sure if it counts but my game currently features a plot line where the group(vampires) are tasked to figure out why the anarchs fleed the town of bergen (norway) after kicking out the camarilla just last year and it's because the city has a major and agressive chulorviah infection lead by a psychic mutant elder of their kind who is basically a dnd mindflayerworkedd out really nice so far, my players quickly moved from "we are the soldiers of the night" to "what the fuck are these things now" and i can play with some classic lovecraft vibes
I'm new and have been reading a bit of WtA stuff, but wanted to ask is the Weaver Lilith? The stuff about the Weaver and the Bloody Man in Silver Record sounds like it's Lilith and Caine to me.
>>94764681Lilith is basicly a non entity outside of vtm and verbana lore, but she not really into order and such she is more into suffering, birthing monsters etc
Here's the first post if anyone wants to keep talking about the idea of Sheep/Goat breed of fera.I wanted to link all the previous posts so it would be easier to follow, but this site counts all the links as spam
>>94764630momma i'm hearing bells inside my head
The (eternal) King of Summer got vored by his Keeper, we went into arcadia and pulled him out (it was his own fault in the first place, but two of us wanted an excuse to go to Arcadia and had basically engineered the situation). It was something like a combination of an eel and a deep sea anglerfish, ST got to go for the full Labyrinth experience and just make up hobs along the way as we went. The PC who was the then Queen of Spring had a folder of like 20-30 types of hobs because they basically ran the local hedge as well at that point. She's not with our group anymore though, moved to the EU a couple years ago.
>>94764681Triat are a lot bigger than caine/lilith/godBut lilith is absolutely a child of the wyld anyway. They're responsible for pretty much all the same shit.
>>94764700What is their core concept or theme?
>>94764778Their core is meaty but their theme is fluffy. There are no Sheepshifters because Abel slaughtered them, that what his sacrifice was all about.
>>94764778Well, that is what we're trying to establish.>>94762645Brought forth the idea of them being the diplomats among mankind and in charge of making sure humanity doesn't stray from the natural order. He also suggested that they could be jack-of-all-trades backup in case a tribe went extinct. Though there are already two breeds that does exactly that.>>94762775suggested that in their death they take all spiritual impurity with them. Could be reminescent of the sacrificial lamb.>>94762793Suggested that they are used to transport people like Thor's chariot (or again, being sacrificed)>>94762863Made a fusion of the two previous idea. They could be a breed that cannot enter the Umbra naturally without ingesting some Wyrm taint.
>>94764700New story concept.Awakened sheep herder thinks he's being tailed by the Technocracy; they're everywhere he goes etc. They aren't, though. A Ragabash Sheepshifter in his flock pranked him once—headbutted him in the tushus to teach him a lesson in paying more attention and treating the flock better—and this fed into his paranoia and now he's lashing out in all sorts of directions. Which is most likely going to end up drawing actual Technocratic attention, something nobody wants. With the caern/node at the farm at risk, how can our unlikely protagonists sort things out without the sheepshifter blowing his cover or the herder holing himself away from the farm until his quiet subsides, and leaving the caern exposed to external threats in the meantime?
>>94764555>What are your favorite stories or experiences involving magical creatures in your oWoD/nWoD/CofD games?I threw canimabalistic shadow monkeys at my hunters once the brawler used them nunchucks while the canibal ate the remains of a child in the background.
>>94764887I want to say that I like the idea of many of the sheepshifters having some ties with christianity, especially because of Jesus being the lamb of God (and many other passages with lambs and sheep in the bible). It could cause a rift with other fera though. I don't know if it's a thing, garou that prays to God instead of Gaia. Also the idea that the Wyrm tainted goats became the modern symbol of satanism>>94764978I don't know how a sheep heabutting him leads to technocracy paranoia, but I like the general idea
>>94765090Quiet is a dangerous thing to slip into. It doesn't take much when you're already on the edge. And the Technocracy IS pervasive and might really be on to get him, but they didn't slip a robot spy sheep into the flock.
>>94765109I find the very concept of electric sheep preposterous!
>>94765090As far as I am aware, there are two groups of Fera which practice Christianity in some fashion. The first are the Order of the Merciful Mother, a camp of Black Furies, the second are the Wise Guys, a camp of Glasswalkers. Neither would presume God to be above Gaia.
>>94764851>There are no Sheepshifters because Abel slaughtered them, that what his sacrifice was all about.I can see that.
Wouldn't sheep/goat shifters be unable to breed anyway, since basically every sheep/goat on the planet is from domestic stock?
In Revised, we had>The Gangrel leave the Camarilla>The Stargazers leave the Garou NationWhy didn’t a Tradition leave the Council?
>>94765327wasn't that what the hollow ones plot line was kinda trying?
>>94764887Goats represent madness as much as fertility. Dionysis was a chaos god after all.If anything, goat-shifters (which need a proper name, maybe just the Greek word for goat would be sufficient given we've got Corax and Kitsune - google tells me it's Aiga?) would be more Black Fury than Black Fury in the 'we gotta protect the Wyld aligned places' shtick. Could get away with using the same terminology as goaru for their forms as well.
>>94765327Because the only tradition angry enough with the Council to leave started winning during Revised and they kinda lost any reason to leave.>>94765339The goth kids were never part of the Council, they're "watched" by them at best and outright mocked at worst. Most big wig traditionalists either laugh or become hostile at the suggestion of incorporating them.
>>94765362>The goth kids were never part of the Council, they're "watched" by them at best and outright mocked at worst. Most big wig traditionalists either laugh or become hostile at the suggestion of incorporating them.yeah but at their high point they where incorperated enough to be in the position to betray the prime chantry of the traditions that's more damage than either of the other two run aways could ever have done
>>94765274Well the belief in Gaia and God can always become one. That’s how Christianism absorbed many cultures from the Ancient Celtic gods to the African Voodoo spirits.>>94764851>>94765292Imagine how an entire breed would feel that their entire species is used as sacrifice and scapegoats.I got some inspiration…Perhaps one of their rites purifies a caern and wards it against evil, but at the cost of a sheepshifter’s life (or it is a funeral rite that happens after their death). Seeing such a convenient tool, the garou were oh so eager to use the sheep in their fight. Bringing them along without care for their safety. Sometimes even slaughtering them wholesale to speed up the process.>>94765312There are still wild ones. Lots of them in fact. The real challenge though is that what kind of transformations can you give a goat/sheep? Garou got their 5 due to mythology and modern media. I think it’s possible to do 3 like the Apis… homid, semi-homid (satyr/faun/the Witcher 3 succubus), and then Big Goat/Sheep. Though there could be a Crinos form looking like a Chort from The Witcher 3.>>94765343Oh that sounds nice. Also Pan, associated with Dionysus (and a goat man) could cause panic with a scream. Since the sheepshifters definitely didn’t take part in the Impergium, that could be their equivalent to the Delirium. Also, legends say that Pan, the god of nature is dead. Pretty fitting with the general theme of Werewolf: The Apocalypse if you ask me. Snowballing on the idea, what do you think of a high level rite/talisman make the Golden Fleece? Or would it be an artefact?
>>94765452>There are still wild ones. Lots of them in fact.Pretty sure those are wild domestic sheep
>>94765548There are quite a lot of wild species as far as I’m aware. You can find them around the world, but most are in the Americas or in Central Asia/Middle East.https://www.wildsheepfoundation.org/mission-and-programs/keeping-wild-sheep-healthy#:~:text=North%20American%20Wild%20Sheep&text=Native%20to%20western%20North%20America,Dall's%20and%20Stone's%20thinhorn%20sheep.https://www.goodheartanimalsanctuaries.com/meet-the-animals/sheep-in-nature/#:~:text=Wild%20sheep%20are%20most%20often,can%20live%20even%20higher%20up.Wild ones look more like goats than our common sheep.
>>94765452>Imagine how an entire breed would feel that their entire species is used as sacrifice and scapegoats.I like to imagine that many sheeple are mindbroken due to that, either becoming fatalistic or in complete denial. Some even running away from their duty once they learn their role.>One of the myths about Zeus infancy has him being fed by goat(s)>In one version he skins the goat to make his shield>In another he snaps one of its horns which turn into the cornucopia
>>94765452>Well the belief in Gaia and God can always become one. That's called syncretism, has already happened irl with Gaia as well (syncretised with Mary), technically heretical but fuck it, unitarian churches are heresy too and they're everywhere at the moment.I'm doing something similar as well, one of the 'frenemy' factions I'm putting in for my players are called Faith Hounds, and they're exactly what they sound like: Gaoru who threw their lot in with the church, especially with the rise of the second inquisition.>Since the sheepshifters definitely didn’t take part in the Impergium, that could be their equivalent to the Delirium. Sure, if you want. Kitsune don't trigger delirium at all so it's not mandatory as a mechanic. Having said that though, you could also take the route implement it as an in-tribe gift, and gifts are a free for all in terms of what they can represent.>Golden FleeceDepends on how powerful you want it to be. Personally, I'd given them the ability to make a gilded fleece as a talisman, but the actual golden fleece itself is a plot device. The more interesting thing to me is the ram it came from. Chrysomallus, after rescuing Phrixus, was sacrificed to the gods whereupon he was returned to his rightful place as the constellation Aries. This means he's a chthonic spirit (one that dies and comes back) and thus he can interact with wraiths, and with this mythic power behind him, he can easily serve as a tribe totem/patron spirit.
>once again forgetting the first / of /wodg/Come on, man. Just pay attention.
>>94766438Ah, the slash.I'll fix it in my pastebin and this shouldn't be an issue moving forward, I think I copied it without the slash. It shouldn't be an issue moving forward, thanks for pointing it out.

>1/3Last night, I had two vivid dreams related to World of Darkness, likely spurred by late-night posting here. I'll split the story into three posts to avoid omitting any details.Dream One: The Spirit WaysThe first dream centered around a Mage: The Awakening book that doesn't actually exist. Its cover was a strange mix: the artwork came from "Fallen Tower: Las Vegas", a Mage: The Ascension book, but it was titled "The Spirit Ways", which is also the name of an Ascension book. I do not own either of those books. I have not read either of those books. In the dream, however, the book had Awakening’s distinctive blue sidebar and font. The content seemed to revolve around martial arts and an action-packed adventure, which make no sense given the title and cover. When I got up from the bed later this morning, I went through my half-asleep, middle-of-the-night notes and searched for this book. I realized it was a fusion of elements from two different game lines. This isn’t the first time I’ve dreamt of non-existent media, and it always leaves me puzzled. Interestingly, the dream seemed to take place in the past; I appeared younger, and the surrounding computers in the store or venue where I was used CRT monitors.>1/3
>2/3Continuing from >>94766830Dream Two: The Mage BoxAfter waking up in the middle of the night and jotting down the notes about the first dream, I dozed off again and had another dream, this time about White Wolf. I had discovered a cardboard box at home called the Mage Box, themed around Mage: The Ascension, purple with golden details and featuring the iconic logo and fonts from Second Edition.Upon inspecting the box, I found it empty, already opened, and seemingly a vintage item from the 2nd Edition era. Oddly, the box had been shipped from Greenland to Norway, which struck me as peculiar since neither location has strong connections to White Wolf’s history, and I don’t live in Norway. An interesting detail was that, upon reading the sender and receiver's addresses, I instantly knew the original recipient wasn’t me, but couldn't figure out who it was.The inside of the box revealed more surprises. It was meant to be disassembled, and its interior featured a printed catalogue of White Wolf’s entire book collection. Instead of the Mage-themed design, the interior had Vampire’s green marble texture. The catalogue ended with a Vampire book titled Fuurrrrrrrro, listed among the Fifth Edition releases. This dream felt like it was in the future, hinting at a time when White Wolf has a distribution center in Greenland, is still releasing Vampire Fifth Edition content, and is reprinting their entire back catalogue. Perhaps the box originated from DriveThruRPG or the Storyteller’s Vault, which still offer print-on-demand for older materials.>2/3
>3/3Continuing from >>94766830 and >>94766837I’m left proverbially Whattafucked, pondering these dreams. They say we’re not supposed to be able to read while dreaming. While I can’t recall any of the words inside the book from the first dream, in the second dream, I distinctly remember reading words. Even now, I vividly recall the white background and blue font on the address label, as well as the name of the upcoming V5 book and the font in which it was written in the catalogue. Why did my brain merge Mage: The Awakening and Mage: The Ascension into a non-existent book? Does Mage: The Awakening even have a martial arts-themed book? If anyone knows, I'd love to hear about it.I also quite liked the concept of shipping books in a themed box. It could be an interesting marketing strategy—perhaps something White Wolf has explored in the past, or could consider in the future.>3/3
>>94766830From what is sounds like, you took point in the Dream background and are receiving prophetic visions, possibly in regards to M5(I geuss WW is going to be stealing ideas from MtAw like they did for V5 stealing from VtR).We'll know how many dots your player invested in the background when we see how accurate the future events are.>>94766837>V5 is still ongoing in the foreseeable futureFuck. Why can't they give up and hand the IP to competent people?>>94766840Keep a dream-journal this might be useful in the future.
Street Fighter is now canon to your game. What implications does this have?
>>94766989None? The Shih have started a series of fighting tournaments and the majority of their abilities wouldn't break the scarlet screen(and the ones that do are only tourney-legal in underground matches anyway).
>>94766989We can now have a three way mexican standoff between Shadaloo, Pentex and the Technocrats. My PC can now fuck Rose, Menat, Ibuki, Chun Li and Juri. The grander Capcom universe would also be to some degree canon so now there's a lawyer out there with a Spirit adept sidekick, Pentex/Progenitors are behind Umbrella corporation, a Horizon Realm named Makai ruled by a sexy succubus and the white-haired son of a powerful yet righteous Fallen hunts monsters to afford his pizza addiction.
>>94764681The Bloody Man story is probably just a straight retelling of Caine, not as it happened but as it was told to the vampires and then translated into Fera belief. Any story in WoD would be taken with a grain of salt.
>>94767030Menat has a man, thank you.
>>94767030Dante is a Nephilim, not a Fallen.
>>94766989At some point in history, a vampire using celerity got Daigo parried.
>>94767073I meant Sparda was the fallen.>>94767065Yes. Me.
>>94767030If we're making the great Capcom universe is canon, is the BSAA part of the second inquisition?
Rockman is the next iteration of HIT Marks. He fights for The Man against "Irregulars", known as Mavericks in the Anglophone world. What makes a robot a Maverick? The wiki is very clear: "Reasons for 'going Maverick' may include software bugs, viruses, reprogramming, or even their own free will."Rock may have been a hippie but Megaman is a fucking robot pig. >>94767083Justin Wong was playing Chun Li and got parried, Daigo was the Celerity Ghoul playing Ken who did the parrying. >>94767105BSAA and Blue Umbrella were Technocratic initiatives. They're down-to-earth science people, after all.
>>94767030Dante would be pretty easy to stat as a Fallen (because there's no official way to stat a DtF Nephilim as far as I know). High physical attributes and martial abilities, near mastery of Lore of the Fundament for all his bullshit stunts and a propensity for changing his apocalyptic form/devil trigger every now and then.House and visage is less clear cut, though.>>94767105They're an NWO op created as damage control against the Progenitors fucking up with Umbrella.
>>94767105>Capcom universe is canonWouldn't this make Umbrella a pentex subsidiary that went rogue?Banes and Wyrm-Taint would explain how progenitor-virus variants are able to pull extra Mass out of thin air for their mutations or why Progenitor mutations tend to reflect the psychology/character flaws of the infected.
>>94767329>Wouldn't this make Umbrella a pentex subsidiary that went rogue? You'd think but it's also way funnier if Umbrella is just like that all on it's own.
>>94767329>progenitor-virusWhy have I never realized the cross-over practically writes itself? All of the Viruses/Parasites/Mold are ancient, primordial lifeforms buried deep in the earth to prevent them ravaging the world. You don't even need to change anything to make them ancient Wyrm Spirits or Wyrm-Changers thought extinct. The progenitors fuck with things they don't understand as a matter of Pride to push the boundaries of Enlightened Science! Of course they'd fuck up this badly...
Captain Commando is from World of Future Darkness, as it is set in the distant future of 2026, where cybernetic implants and robots are common place. It's the story of the uneasy alliance between two Technocrats (Captain and Hoover), a literal Mummy (Mack) and an Akashic (Ginzu) fighting against Fomori/Nephandi.>>94767329>>94767353>>94767386I wouldn’t say it’s a Pentex subsidiary gone rogue. Pentex’s story mirrors Standard Oil and the Rockefellers. In contrast, Umbrella’s origin is more anachronistic, and lacks real-world parallels.Founded in the late 60s, Umbrella’s primary goal was advancing a eugenics program reflecting the beliefs of its founders—two British Earls and a doctor who met in college. Umbrella’s reach went beyond pharmaceuticals into industries like consumer goods and automation, but its original goal has always been tied to Eugenics.Despite claims in the wiki that "the eugenics movement was popular in the late 1960s," this isn't accurate, as WWII had ended two decades earlier, so it's another Strike Out in terms of Werewolf's usual social commentary.Lacking this type of commentary, Umbrella works better critiquing abstract themes like Eugenics and Rotten Nobility. The rotten nobility aspect aligns well with Vampire, but the eugenics and pharmaceutical angles are more pronounced, and its ties to The Funny Mustache Man's ideology suggest links to the Technocracy—specifically, the Progenitors. Still, I’d keep the idea of "Servants of the Wyrm" and its Fomorian elements around.I'd play Umbrella as some sort of House Tremere of the Progenitors, with its core corrupted by the Wyrm and Fomorian influence, making it a fitting antagonist for Mage and Werewolf stories. It could also feature in Vampire narratives, capturing Kindred for experiments or offering “cures” for vampirism. On a street level, vampires might notice strange blood anomalies in mortals. Even Wraith could tie in with the zombie angle.
Are we trying to meme Capcom into purchasing the World of Darkness? I don't think that's gonna work.
>>94767290>because there's no official way to stat a DtF Nephilim as far as I knowNo, but there are various resources that can make it possible.DtF: Earthbound makes it clear Humans can only learn up to the 3rd Dot in any Lore without permanently burning their faith potential(which is consistent with Sorcerer Revised: Alchemy 5)Devile's Due establishes that before the 6th Great Maelstrom, demons couldn't access their lores and were stuck investing everything in their Apocalyptic Form abilities. It establishes that Mortals can have a torment score, a faith/composure score, and an Apocalyptic Form(Read: Devil Trigger) if the demon invest them with that.Infernalism: Path of Screams establishes that "Laham", demi-demons that have a fragment of demonic power infused at birth. They get 7 points of demonic investments free. These investments can include backgrounds and powers not available to the creatures normal race.So all this together, one can stat a Nephilim as essentially a fallen with lores capped at 3 and up to 7 points in fallen-only backgrounds. The big differences is that they'd have to Buy many abilities the fallen would have innately(for free) by increasing their torment score.Another interesting thing: All the enemies DMC can basically be statted 1-to-1 in DtF too. Mundus in DMC1 is an Earthbound with Lore of Chaos, zero changes necessary.
>>94767497Damn, DMCV was good. If any of you reading never played the game, GO PLAY IT. Even if you didn't play the other ones, it's THAT good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiiW2lKu-og
>>94767497>All the enemies DMC can basically be statted 1-to-1 in DtF tooProbably because they writers of DtF stole half their ideas from DMC1. DtF's first release came a year after DMC1, which makes it very interesting how the earthbound lore sounds exactly like Mundus's age of darkness...
pic related is what the average Black Spiral kinfolk looks like according to Kinfolk Unsung Heroes.Thoughts?
>>94767542Hot and crazy woman.
>>94767287It's X who fights the Mavericks, anon. Rock is just dealing with Dr. Wily's constant shenanigans. My guess is, in this crossover, Drs. Light and Wily were both in Iteration X, but Light is very much leaning Utopian, while Wily has gone completely rogue and is probably a Nephandus. He's worked with a rogue Autocthonian spirit (Ra Moon), things from the Deep Umbra (Stardroids, Evil Energy), and more, and somehow survived it all. He's stolen, kidnapped, and deceived his way to world-conquering power again and again and lost it all, all because one little adaptable construct has thwarted him at every turn.Zero is this weird super-prototype with an inbuilt hyperscience computer virus based on both Weaver and Wyrmish principles. Wily can't control him and so hasn't unleashed him, yet. Time will tell if he wakes up sooner than he's supposed to, but at some point Light will build X anyway. If either man also starts experimenting with the Digital Web, we might see mass-distributed Weaver-spirits titled NetNavis soon enough.
>>94767542Would overwrite with a Gaian tribal heritage
>>94767510This is probably a create resource to help players imagine what using Celerity or Rage extra-actions is like. However, Nero took roughly 10 actions during that round, acted before the enemies could react(actions happened on his initiative), and used an attack-move/dodge-attack action pattern. By this we can tell he was using the equivalent of DAV20 Celerity with a minimum of Celerity 7(with quickness elder power) or Celerity 9(with no elder powers).
>>94767621>probably a create resource>create*I meant "great".A great resource.
>>94767353>>94767329I imagine some Pentex executive being like>We wanted to buy them but after a cursory inspection they are even more corrupt than we are.
>>94767633>So... covert investment it is then
>>94767542Would abuse into submission.
>>94764681As previously said, Lilith is almost entirely associated with the Wyld, then a secondary relationship with the Wyrm. She's like the anti-Weaver. The Weaver in that story is God, whom Fera see as either a demiurge or monad according to their belief structure. In an eerie parallel to Ananasi myth, Fera myth would probably say vampires were created by the Weaver (perfect anatomical stasis), tainted by the Wyrm (dead, very kegare), and educated by the Wyld/Wyrm (Lilith).
Do you guys have any music you associate with this series? Aside from what's in the videogames
>>94767592Well, yes, you are technically correct. The robots on Mega Man aren't Reploids, they're Robot Masters, which are technically different. But the first Robot Masters you fight on MM1 are all like Mavericks, since they were stolen and reprogrammed to serve Dr. Willy. The rest were purposefully built to be Evil so they don't have the Irregular aspect to them, they're working as intended by their creator. Both the Maverick Virus and the Evil Robot masters have the same origin: Doctor Willy. The Maverick Virus is something Willy programmed into Zero specifically to help Willy control Zero's extremely violent nature, it's like a way to backdoor someone else's into a Reploid's programming - an will for Evil. When Zero later contaminated Sigma with the virus, Sigma's advanced anti-virus systems (he was the top Maverick Hunter at the time, after all) were too strong for the Maverick Virus to take over but not strong enough to fend off the infection and thus the virus mutated into the Sigma Virus, a virus that works like the Maverick Virus but instead of carrying on the will of Doctor Willy, it carries on the will of Sigma. In Mage terms, all of this is explained with a lot of advanced Mind and Spirit Magick, especially once Elfs from Megaman Zero start popping up - X himself turns into an Elf at some point, with his body working as a seal while his mind and spirit are free to roam. And then later both Zero and X end up as... some weird sort of metal, Idk I didn't play Megaman ZX.
>>94767633>but after a cursory inspection they are even more corrupt than we are. This is pentex we're talking about, they'd take that as a fucking Challenge rather than a drawback.
>>94767693>In an eerie parallel to Ananasi mythIf I was an ananasi, I'd be wondering if vampires were the weaver's attempt at making Ananasi after ananasa went independent and killed all her mother's insect shifters.
>>94767693I'm not sure what book it was from, but the Garou do have an origin story for Vampires. They directly name Caine, and say that he made a deal with the Weaver for immortality. The Wyrm was enraged, and attempted to kill Caine. Of course, being immortal, he couldn't. The resulting scuffle ended when Caine ATE the Wrym, becoming tainted. Now, he was still immortal, but had to destroy others to maintain his own sense of order. The Wyld is never mentioned. Vampirism is never considered to be a force of creation or true chaos by the Fera.
>>94767756>The resulting scuffle ended when Caine ATE the Wrym,You're talking about the "Silver Record" book.Caine is called "Bloody Man" there and didn't eat the wyrm. The wyrm ate him, but couldn't swallow him because of the weaver's blessing of immortality. While stuck in the wyrm's throat(like a dorito), caine drank the wyrm's blood(like a dorito) and stole some of it's power before being spat out. This event is what the ancient silver fangs blame as the reason the wyrm was weak enough for the weaver to trap. Thus they view all vampires as being partially responcible for the current degeneration of the world(and also just coincidentally move some of that blame from themselves as the leaders during both wars of rage, the war of tears, the rise of sam height...)
>>94767848>While stuck in the wyrm's throat(like a dorito), caine drank the wyrm's blood(like a dorito)Doritos are the children of Caine?
>>94767889>Asked the red talon that somehow managed to operate a computer
>>94767621Considering the time it'd take for the van to twist around itself while in the air, that'd be about 2.5 to 3 seconds. All the jumping around would be feasible with Celerity 7/9 as you mentioned. The only thing impossible to replicate in standard World of Darkness mechanics is him firing 8 shots (9 if you count the bullet from the double-shot) out of a six-shooter revolver. For that, we must break the game. And breaking the game can only mean one thing: Magick. In WoD, a heavy revolver like Nero's has a rate of fire (RoF) of 2 bullets per turn, and a light revolver has a RoF of 3. No standard firearm can fire 6 times in a single turn without going Full Auto, let alone 8 or 9. To include the gunplay in this maneuver, the only way to pull this off is with Time Magick that enhances both your and your gun’s speed. This would allow Nero to perform the equivalent of three to four turns within a single turn, depending on how Blue Rose (his revolver) is statted. It still doesn’t explain the 8 shots from a revolver with a six-round cylinder, though, but the answer to that is also More Magick.

Since the last one prompted some good discussion. Let's put the shoe on the other foot. What are your thoughts on the Camarilla? I really like the Camarilla myself. They're a good "baseline" where your players can engage in the setting's strengths (intrigue, politics, and rabbit holes), and play characters not completely divorced from humanity without having to be bleeding hearts or self-righteous goodies. The Cam 7 clans were mostly well designed with a strong archetypal basis but a lot of flexibility in the concepts you can play with them. If anything, I think the Camarilla gets more shit than it deserves. You see both in-setting and out stuff talk about it like it's Vampire 1984, but it's really not that bad. The Camarilla is a good "the man", mixing old school aristocratic vamp stuff with modern realpolitik, backroom deals, and conspiracy theory stuff.

Walt Disney was an Angel (DtD). He created Disneyland, Disney World, and the whole Disney company to manage and create GM Infrastructure. Demons discovered that EPCOT, the City of the Future, was one massive experiment in antfarm cities and assassinated him. Except he didn't die. Each Disney CEO is just another cover of the same angel. Imagineers are cultists and a big rift formed between those who believed in Walt and think the other CEOs are just pretenders and those who follow the new CEOs. It doesn't help that managing the Walt Disney Company has awakened the angel's latent avarice, which is why each CEO is more of a blatant money-grubber than the last.

Kill them more?>Sure, if you want. Kitsune don't trigger delirium at all so it's not mandatory as a mechanic. Having said that though, you could also take the route implement it as an in-tribe gift, and gifts are a free for all in terms of what they can represent.Oh, I like that. We should go with that.>Depends on how powerful you want it to be. This means he's a chthonic spirit (one that dies and comes back) and thus he can interact with wraiths, and with this mythic power behind him, he can easily serve as a tribe totem/patron spirit.Wow, you got way better takes than me.Also, to go with a previous idea of the goats pulling Thor's chariot and thus having the sheep associated with transportation, Chrysomallus did fly away with two mortals, right? It could be something to consider.I wanted to see if Capricornus had a cool myth which could also be associated with a totem, though I don't think it sounds cool enough. If we take the Greek myths, the constellation either represents one of the goats that nursed Zeus (whose horn became the cornucopia), or Pan trying to ran away from Typhon by diving into a river and trying to turn into a fish. It only worked halfway, giving him the lower body of a fish, and Zeus found the moment so funny he immortalized it in the sky. I know that the constellation is also associated with the Babylonian god Ea, but I don't know much more about it.
Did anyone else heard a loud screech? I think it came from the general direction of the west coast of the USA.

While Invictus does take from it, it doesn't fill the same niche as the Camarilla does as a sort of universal vampire government. It helps an otherwise primarily local-based game feel connected to the wider world. My ideal would be the Camarilla existing with Covenants sticking around as organizations that exist independently of it, but falling under its authority in places where the Camarilla is established. A lot of the Covenants would need some adjustment if ported into a setting more like Masquarade, but would probably end up better for it. The biggest change would be making it so Noddist lore isn't quite as taboo, with at least some of the Circle of the Crone idolizing Lilith and the Lancea Sanctum having a version of the book of Nod as their old testament with the stance all the Antedulivians died in the flood. Invictus can stick around as a combination of a Skull and Bones style secret society and being vampire lawyers do to their contract powers. Anarchs are replaced with the Carthians, but the term can stick around for vampires who refuse to recognize the Camarilla's authority.

So, /tg/, I'm working on a MtAw 2e consilium, and part of my setting is "the Hierarch (a powerful Obrimos near-archmage) will often create Hallows both as political favors for his allies, and to ensure their dependence on him for their Mana supplies". I wanted to run the mechanics of it by you guys.To keep all the various Hallows within one spell control slot, he creates them with an imbued item. When he uses it, the item's dice pool is 14 (Gnosis 9 + Prime 5). Since the spell makes a hallow equal to Potency, but is also Withstood by the the intended hallow rating, you effectively need a potency equal to twice the target rating. For a 5-dot Hallow (let's assume this is for a valuable ally), he would need to go from starting potency of 1 to 10, a -18 penalty, reducing his dice pool to -4. If it was -5, the spell would be impossible (p.111), but for now it's just a chance die.Instead of rolling, he then activates the item with prime-1 Word of Command, which bypasses the activation roll and gives you automatic successes equal to the spell's Potency, in this case 5. With 5 successes, he rolls an Exceptional, the Hallow is created, and he even uses the exceptional-success benefit to refund the 50 Mana he spent on the potency-10 spell. The only Reach spent is usually for Advanced Duration, which at prime 5 means the Hallow will last for 1 year, at which point he can extract another favor for renewing it. However, he could also forego the Mana-refund from the exceptional success (50 Mana is a lot, but nowhere near the limit of his mana resources with Gnosis 9 and Prime 5) and instead use the benefit to give an extra Reach in the primary spell factor, taking it from Advanced duration to Indefinite duration (using Willpower to offset the extra dice penalty). Is all of this kosher? I must admit, "imbue an item and use Prime to make it always exceptionally succeed on a spell that would otherwise be nearly impossible due to spell factors" feels like bullshit.
>>94768744>kindred character>impregnatedPick one.
>>94768923Depends on perspective, I'd say no. The demons of Devilman are a type of animal that have normal animal drives and impose stronger animal drives on their hosts. They're only demons because of their relationship with God. I'd prefer if they could be double-possessed, Wyld and Wyrm, but that's too far.
>>94768913I'm convinced Devilman inspired Demon: the Fallen to some degree. The similarities are way too uncanny to be coincidental. If anything the only problem would be replicating Amon's transformation since vanilla Apocalyptic Form kinda sucks. >>94768877>CheckedFirst I think I should mention that I don't know the guy personally. Marco's background is primarily in video games. He worked on Age of Wonders and Pillars of Eternity. I haven't played AoW, but Pillars is good stuff. And before Paradox, he worked on two MMOs I have never heard from before. He's not a Tech Guy or an Marketing guy, he's a producer with experience in management and creative direction. The position of EVP is not the one that calls the shots in creative direction or anything along those lines, it's equivalent of a Brand CEO, it's a position that mainly concerns itself with the business side of thing. Think someone that's like a president, it's a position that is in charge of the more broad strokes of the entire segment, it's more focused on strategical and tactical management than operational stuff. Other than that he's also credited as having worked as a writer or developer (hard to tell a the moment) on Drakar och Demoner's 2023 edition. I have no idea if that game is any good, but I suppose you can ask the rest of /tg/ for a review there. Now, compared to the previous EVP: Sean was someone I had spoken to a few times. I found him charismatic, and reasonable and smart and quite liked the guy, but I have not much to say from our interactions other than that. His background was in Marketing and he was the mind behind the Tender marketing campaign for Bloodlines 2, and I think he inherited the position from Tobias Sjögren in 2018 methinks, based on the success of the Tender campaign as well as his involvement on Bloodlines 2.On paper, Marco seems to be a better fit for managing the franchise, but we'll have to see what comes next to know for sure.>>94768915I have no idea, but my guess would be "Yes".He's been acting manager of the franchise for a good chunk of 2024 as Sean was away on paternity leave, so in theory this appointment is more a formality than anything else.

>>94768964Devilman was probably the most famous animu in the world until Dragonball got huge. It's still huge in East Asia. I absolutely believe that. The only thing that limits it is that the human persona usually gets gobbled immediately by the Fallen, and it doesn't change their mundane form unless they stat into it, but that can be houseruled. I kinda prefer that to Fallen being about aeons-old interpersonal conflicts: ancient beings share a psyche with a human, and they slowly become a different person. Amon is pretty much Abaddon, imagine if he got a nice enough copilot that he redeemed himself a little?
Stuff like this is why Accursed Heirs: Dhampirs is the best STV book. Lots of options to have Dhampirs from non-thinbloods. My only issue is how often the answer is "blood magic", but that's mostly because of how gatekept blood magic is in VtM. The human persona may not always really stick around, but their memories, habits and personality affect the fallen that inhabits their body until what's left is a synthesis of both.Hell, that's pretty much explicitly what differentiates PC Fallen from NPC Fallen: whether they had a host whose nature resonates with the demon, and who had enough of a moral compass that once the demon awakens, they go 'oh my god, what the fuck is wrong with me?'It's what the legacy backstory is partly used for, in the players guide, to what degree the demon's memories overpower the human's, and vice versa.
>>94769108
>>94769108I guess it depends on when it happens? I would assume most tribes would see it as a capital crime that warrants death. There's an argument to be made that it breaks Litany, Thou shalt not mate etc. So it could warrant the offender be declared a servant of the Wyrm and cast out. However, metis do this whenever they enter thrall of the Wyrm (wtf White Wolf). And if one Garou loses a duel but refuses to submit their life is at the mercy of the winner... which can be argued to justify such an act. >>94769108WTF Anon.>>94769201But people can already throw fireballs by getting good at karate on the World of Darkness. The more interesting question is: can a Vampire also be a Street Fighter? John Talbain as pointed out here >>94768771 is also a Werewolf Street Fighter, and a very important one: he's the father of Air Dashing and thus the father of all 1v1 Anime Fighters. The implications of Street Fighters in the World of Darkness are tremendous.Just think about what Psycho Power means in a world with Vampires, nay, the World of Darkness in general. In the world of Street Fighter where people have a lot of honor and whatnot, M. Bison is already a giant pain in the ass to deal with, imagine if his Psycho Power existed in a world where fear, anger, and the hatred for others are what define this very world. If Bison already had a psycho power cannon on SFA3, imagine what he could do in the World of Darkness. Now imagine a Vampire, a creature that feeds on perversion, being able to tap in to that kind of power.

>>94769399But are people actually making games outside of jam? I haven't heard of any.
>>94769071>the human persona usually gets gobbled immediately by the FallenNot necessarily. The hunter book infernal shows fallen can end up lost and confused, completely subsumed in their human memories, for a Long time.
>>94769363Thinking on it, wouldn't a world were Street Fighter exist likely be a world where the Akashics have been wildly more successful in the Ascension War?
>>94769455>CheckedYou are not factoring several details I mentioned there, like Necali being a supernatural creature (and so is Gill), which imply that being a Street Fighter is something any splat can be. While Darkstalkers is not canonically part of the Street Fighter Shared Universe, Rival Schools, Captain Commando and Red Earth are, and all have supernatural elements to it. Red Earth in specific has a Witch and a Lionman as playable characters, and Captain Commando also has aliens, mummies, and all sorts of wacky stuff. While both of those games are set in the distant future of 2026 or the distant past, Rival Schools runs parallel to Street Fighter and has a final boss that gets possessed by a DemonLike I said, the implications of Street Fighters existing in the World of Darkness are tremendous.
>>94769228>>94769482Thanks for the direction; the player guide suggests that the human could win over the demon for control, but it's rare.
>>94769363I mean, that's the thing. If we are counting Jon Talbain as a Street Fighter than we don't need to ask that question. Jon is from Dark Stalkers, which is the same game that features DEmitri Maximoff. Who is a vampire. And like, really depends on how much we stretch things. While it's mixing versions, Q and Necron from SF3 was very clearly Deviants. However, if I were going to do things, I'd say that accessing certain powers requires you to still be alive. Sort of like how you lose the ability to be a Mage if you're a vampire.
>>94769569There's an undead character named The Wraith on Slam Masters, which is also canonically part of the Street Fighter shared universe. Slam Masters is that other game where you play as Mike Haggar, from Final Fight. And y'all thought Darkstalkers was full of weird shit eh hahahhaha
>>94769603>DarkstalkersAlways good to remember Darkstalkers 3had WoD and WW logo on it.
>>94769603That's different. Slam Masters is pro wrestling. And as we all know, supernatural things can be pro wrestlers.
>>94769569>While it's mixing versions, Q and Necron from SF3 was very clearly DeviantsArtificials have existed in OWoD since the beginning, they just didn't get a separate name.
>>94769626For those missing contextDarkstalkers 3 is called Vampire Saviour: World of Darkness. White Wolf licensed the name "World of Darkness" for that game.White Wolf had made the Street Fighter TTRPG in 1994. Darkstalkers 3 came out in 1997.
>>94769626>>94769756Worth mentioning that there was a World of Darkness Werewolf 3D brawler game made by Capcom's western division meant to release on the Sega Saturn and the Playstation around 1995-1996 that never actually got released.I think the "World of Darkness" branding on Darkstalkers 3 might have something to do with that deal. This is not the same as Heart of Gaia which is the other cancelled Werewolf game, the one with all the pre-rendered cutscenes available on youtube. That was a PC game. All we have of the Sega Saturn/PSX brawler is some stuff on the unreleased prototype.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogyeHh0htKM
>Anakaris - Mummy>BB Hood - Hunter>Bishamon - Wraith? I'm pretty sure there's Arcanoi that allow you to do his whole moveset>Demitri - Tzimisce vampire>Donovan - either Dhampir with Numina or house-ruled to allow him to become a true Mage, in that case he'd be Akashic>Anita - Psychic>Felicia - Bastet Ceilican with incomplete crinos form>Lei-Lei - Kuei Jin / Wuan Kuei. Devil Tiger.>Mei-Ling - Bone Flower turned into a seal? Maybe some weird kind of mage?>Huitzil - either a chimeric Golem or umbra alien machine>Jedah - Deep Umbra demon?>Talbain/Gallon - Hakken>Morrigan and Lilith - Umbrood?>Lord Raptor/Zabel - Risen>Pyron - Umbra alien>Q-Bee - Some minor umbrood>Rikuo/Aulbath - Merfolk changeling...? Bygone?>Sasquatch - Bygone>Victor - Etherite creation (or Promethean)
Do Hellmouths exist in WoD? As in gateways in the physical world that lead to Hell/the Abyss, whatever. I'm not super keen on any demon lore, but I wanted something like that or maybe just a powerful demon bound to the area ala Kupala or the demons in Montreal by Night. As a central antagonist to the chronicle and a supernatural justification as to why the area declined so sharply.
>>94769826>Q-BeeShe could also be the very last of whatever bee-shifters there used to be that the Ananasi otherwise killed off back in the Insect Wars.
>>94769790There's also a review of the game available prototype, if anyone's interested. Link is at the end of this message. You can transform into a wolf, into a human, and into the warform. You can use weapons and there's items. The game seems to play like Crap, the controls are very bad like, hold one button and them press another button to transform, crouch if you want to fire a weapon etc. Its got that early Playstation aesthetic where you have sprites mixed in with 3D environments, which nowadays looks like Balls, and wasn't cutting edge anymore even for 1996 standards. IMO, if the game had come out in early 1995 or in 1994 when the Playstation released that'd have been a different story, but in 1996 we already had games like Tomb Raider, Soul Edge and Tekken 2, all games that had much better 3D environments.Resident Evil also came out in 1996, and made popular the standard that'd dominate games that mixed 3D with 2D in the platform by inverting the dynamic of the Werewolf game: a fixed camera angle, gorgeous 2D pre-rendered backgrounds, and 3D models, the same sort of stuff you'd see on the Final Fantasy games at the time, with the exception of Tactics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBMP-4Z8qE0
>>94769642Thing is Q is implied to have been human at some point. So is Necron.
>NOOOOOOOOOO The World of Darkness works best when it's street level and explores the emotional range of the characters>All the splats need to be a carbon copy of how Vampire stories are ran otherwise the entire setting is ruined and has no popular appeal>Nevermind that Vampire the Masquerade is also full of wacky shit, I'll just ignore all the elements that don't fit my narrative, like Antedilluvians getting nuked or the Malkavian Madness Network, an Egyptian Snake-Cult straight out of an Indiana Jones movie or the Nosferatu having an entire social network a decade before social networks where a thing, or, you know, an entire submodule about playing a medieval game full of wacky superpowered people>Fuck you for liking any other aspect of this franchise that isn't the exact segment that I like, you're ruining this franchise and limiting its potential>Everything should be either Twilight and Interview With The Vampire, and everything else belongs in the 90s because it's outdated.>Nevermind that Interview with the Vampire came out 30 years ago, and Twlight came out TWENTY years ago by now and are both closer to the 90s than today is closer to the release date of the last Twlight movie>STOP HAVING THE WRONG TYPE OF FUN
>>94770013>like Antedilluvians getting nukedMetaplot bullshit that should be ignored.
>>94769846There are portals to malfeas that are called hellmouths.Back in the day kupala was a bane and was directly connected to environmental disasters in much this way.
>>94770013Who are you quoting?
Maine Coons are descended from British naval cats. Cecilians disappeared before the Age of Exploration. Maine Coons are the basal American breed of domestic cats. Cecilians survived by hiding amongst their feline kinfolk, and conquered the cities of the Americas with their descendants. Like the Ananasi, they are the invisible largest breed of mammalian Fera.

>>94770315I was in the thread, you were sperging out like a retard then as well but at least it was in contextYou're just a fucking clown moron
>>94769399>WoD UnboundDo you still have to use V5 faggotry only?
>>94770513Only V5 and H5. The agreement documentation haven't been updated to include Werewolf 5th edition, despite the website claiming you can, but its probably because nobody's made anything for W5 and probably never will.Another curiosity is that the link to the documentation also says the file won't be available after September 5th 2025, for some reason.I think the reason you can only use 5th edition stuff is because previous editions may have pending legal issues over who's licensed to do what.>>94770360Says the guy that eats bait like he's a carp in a fishing pond. You're so intellectually lazy you can't even come up with a creative way to insult people and this is why you're BTFOed every day here. Get a life.

>>94768639I see your point now, Anon.Your fingers are gonna fall off if you type in what's the material you're referencing here. I respect your commitment to keeping your body parts attached to yourself, but I do not respect your capacity to articulate your points, like, at all. You're sourcing which book has the things you don't like while refusing to point out which material it contradicts. Do you even know where the material it contradicts is published? You wouldn't be putting your faith here from what you've heard from a third party source now, would you? Also:>They didn't write the books which actually contain most the lore and their authorship credits don't reflect the amount of work done on those books?First, again mentioning this Unnamed book that is being contradicted. Is this book here in the room with us, Anon? Is it telling you to kill the president of the United States? Might not be that bad of a book if that's what it's telling you, but you're still deliberately avoiding mentioning which book that is. And second, how'd you know about who did what in specifics, were you part of the creative team at some point or something?Lmao, did you just accidentally out yourself as an OPP shill? Is that why you can't point out which book is being contradicted here?
>There's a rote to turn cum into pearls>Like not something some retard made for his game, but an actually published rote in an official bookIs there a single game in this goddamn line that doesn't encourage people to be freaks?

>>94771678No and that's a good thingLike the implication of werewolves having a license to rape untaken kinfolk, it all either enhances the horror or your boner. It's a win-win.
Had a guy in my first Mage group that used to turn his skin into one big Pearl whenever he needed to go through fire, because Pearls are resistant to open flames and he didn't had Matter, just Life.We used to make a lot of fun of his character whenever he'd do that, as he'd emerge completely naked with shiny, pearly skin. That dumb joke rote has more educational value and practical application than most people think.
>>94771678>I'm fine with occultism, demonology, mockery of Abrahamic mythology, disrespect towards the government and its institutions, crime, violence, blood and all that good shit, just don't put a dirty joke in a horror TTRPG game made for adults.
Starting a ghost hunting game next week using some supplements from 20th anniversary. (Ghost hunters, Paranormalist's handbook, and Hunters Hunted 2). All of them are pretty focused on an Amercian setting while I kinda wanted to set it in 1990s Japan. Does anyone know of any books or resources that have tools or magic that'd lean into that? I'm mostly thinking of ofuda and other Shinto stuff
>>94768788>As someone who for the most part likes CofD more but likes Masquarade and Requiem equally, the Camarilla is one of the best parts of Masqaurade My nigga. I tend to lean more Masquerade than Requiem in my vampire combo setting, so I do it the other way around. I keep the Cam and Sabbat but use the stuff in the covenants (as well as other ideas) for other things. For example, Circle of the Crone stuff works perfectly for Lilith/Bahari fuckery. Basically the Camarilla has a bunch of Secret Societies within it as a counterpart to the Sabbat's "heresies". Gehenna Cults essentially, although that is an inaccurate term since many aren't Noddist at all. I also use Requiem's pseudovampires as something that exists alongside Kindred, rather than a strict exclusion like the Kindred/Kuei-Jin stuff. How Kindred handle these other creatures is really a city by city, region by region thing.>>94768806A few. Basically I treat them as high level Devotions.
