>That's fair, it implies that at least one dream god knew and did nothing for god knows how long
Or that whatever revealed this information managed to hide it from whoever is in charge of monitoring dreams. Which isn't that unlikely, but creates the questions of 'How long did they know?" and 'Why reveal it now?'.

Of course Mercury and Jupiter probably both know the actual reason is 'She found out some place really far away'.

Is this just for the 1940 movie, or are you also including 2000? Anyway:
>Ridiculous number of locations time/place wise
>Sorcerer perk
>Dinosaur species option
>Pegasus/unicorn herds as items
>Satyr/centaur species options
>Expensive Greek god species option/perk
>Species option for whatever the hell Chernabog is here (demon? Slavic god?)
>Bald Mountain property/item

If 2000 is included:
>Flying whale companion/perk/species option
>Ark item

>An item to give you a replenishing supply of lightning bolts to throw at your enemies, like how Vulkan supplied Zeus with lightning bolts to throw at the party goers in the Pastoral Symphony from the original Fantasia
>An item giving you a collection of living toys, like in the Steadfast Tin Soldier from the second Fantasia
>An item giving your own castle, and a collection of colorful animal servants, such as in Dance of the Hours in the original Fantasia
>An item giving you either a copy of Noah's Ark or something that will give you a ship or escape mechanism depending on the apocalypse you're facing, like how the Ark saved Noah, his family, all the animals, and Donald and Daisy Duck in Pomp and Circumstance from the second Fantasia.
>An item giving you a bunch of living brooms that will listen to you and clean up the place and not make more of a mess like in the Sorcerer's Apprentice
>A perk giving you an unstoppable spirit, enduring the greatest hardships and recovering from the greatest losses, such as the Firebird Suite
>A drawback for either being the straight man, dealing with very silly and/or foolish creatures, or for being the odd man out, being silly while everyone else wants you to get in line and be boring
>A drawback for dealing with pests trying to undo your work, the exact danger of which depends on how much you've gone. Just want to clean up your place? You'll find some mischievous creatures trying to mess it up. Trying to bring color and light to somewhere? Creatures of darkness will try to mess it up. Try to create life and greenery in a wide area? A force of destruction will seek to ruin it.
>Note for the above, you can have it so that these issues can be overcome, just like they were in the movies, it's just something you'll have to face, and like how the Sprite needed to rebuild everything after the Firebird destroyed it all, you may just be forced to rebuild after instead of stopping the problem as it's happening.

Psycho, a minor nitpick, in your jump you describe specialist as " Specialist, which can be almost anything not contained in the other five affinities." but according to Morena Prudo Specialist encompasses also hybrid abilities that would normally be part of other categories, and it's only weakness is that someone could not realize to be a specialist.

>>94769906
I think it's less that Specialist encompasses the others but that they don't follow the affinity chart rules and so they don't get debuffed for, say, trying to make an enhancement nen ability. Purely specialization abilities still revolve around messing with shit other abilities generally don't, such as time or parallel universes.

You're welcome! I'd also suggest adding a race option for being a dinosaur, like in Rite of Spring, and maybe a perk for being able to use the abilities of mystical artifacts even without wearing them? Even without his hat, Yen Sid displays incredible magical power, commanding the water to obey him and dissolving it with mere gestures.
>>

>>

>>
>>94769951
Boruto was a mistake
>>
>>94769928
I think it's the opposite, or else emperor time would be useless, and she herself mention how her specialist ability is an hybrid of all other types
>>

>>
>>94769959

>>
>>94769928
Other nen affinities can also fuck with time, not in the same way specialization can. Specialization is just that, an aura with unique effect that makes acquiring certain hatsus way easier, where other affinities would need to be more creative, use restrictions, dip into other aura types specialization can just make an ability and not think too much about it.
>>
>>94769964
Here's how it's phrased at least I'm assuming in the Viz version.
"There are some practical limitations for other types. For example Transmuters have a hard time learning manipulative abilities but specialists have none of that."

This is just referring to the basic proficiency chart stuff. It does then immediately go into the "making abilities that use multiple" thing.
>>
>>94769984
Conjurers and manipulators have better odds to become specialists than everyone else, yes.
>>
>>94769959
Boruto does have some quality waifus
>>
>>94769955
There's already one that's basically King Crimson (the parallel universe one funny enough)
>>
>>94770005
I think she's more referring to being capable to create specialist abilities that manipulate, as, again, if that was true in general Emperor Time would be worse than useless.

Emperor Time is what makes Kurapika a Specialist so it's not useless. It's also probably not the case that specialists are literally 100% in everything, maybe they're like 85 or 90.
>>
>>94770030
No, he, as a conjurer, naturally becomes a specialist when he has red eyes, emperor time is a specialist ability, it litterally couldn't be used if he was a conjurer, as only specialists can use specialist abilities.
>>
>>94770051
No, the ability is that he becomes a specialist and gains 100% proficiency while his eyes are red. The Scarlet Eyes don't inherently turn the user into a specialist while their eyes are red. Kurapika just figured out a way to program that into a Hatsu.
>>

Perks for obscene levels of magical knowledge? Not power, knowledge/skill. You know. Theory. The learning side of it. It's way more interesting and cool to me to out match someone in that side of things than raw power.

Like the Index perk in Toaru.
>>
>>94770070
No, the scarlet eyes normally don't make you a specialist but Kurapika, since he's a conjurer and therefore has an easier time becoming a specialist, becomes it when his emotion are peaking, same time he has scarlet eyes. Again he can't use a specialist abiliity, like emperor time, while a conjurer, as you are implying.

An enhancer could probably increase the flow of time within themselves or an objects.
I could also imagine a conjuration Hatsu letting you fuck with time to some degree y be it by creating a pocket dimension where time flows differently or by creating something like a time stop pocket watch (would probably need some pretty severe conditions though).
I could also see an emitter doing something like shooting attacks into the future(think future sight from pokemon).

It's really not that hard to work some pretty far off abilities into the 5 non-specialist categories.

Make some stupid shit, like giving yourself proficiency higher than 100%.
>>
>>94770180
Would probably need to be super restrictive or costly.
Kurapika's specialist Hatsu that lets him utilize all Nen types at maximum power shaves of one hour of lifespan every second it's active.
>>
>>94770197
Thanks, it still saddens me with no SNK jump. But overall it's kunoichi time
>>
>>94770180
He's wong on that, it can heighten all his proficencies to 100% but not change his affinity, and anyway he loses one hour of life for every second it's active for a jumper it isn' a problem.
>>
>>94770170
They don't have to be big, but shrinking them and downgrading the story is bad
>>
>>94770156
Correct, Specialists only have a unique effect that doesn't conform to the other five effects. It's actually really that simple I don't know why people overcomplicate this shit.
>>
>>94770233
Have you read chapter 408, where it's explicitely stated they can do hybrid effect and a character openly brag her is an hybrid of all five types?
>>
>>94770247
Unique Effect, doesn't apply to all specialists.
>>
>>94770217
With Nen specifically it's pretty funny that jumpers can just pay for a busted hatsu with whatever they happen to have in abundance(stamina, mana, time, blood, money).

>>
>>94770253

>>
>>94770051
Kurapika's eyes turning red IS Emperor Time.
>>
>>94770272
Yes, they could, if their aura's unique effect allows for it. Sigh...
>>
>>94770272
>>94770253
Y'know, I think I'm just not gonna touch the subject and go off the idea that what she was really getting at there is specialists can just do anything so making an ability that's multiple put together is very easy because you can do that and still have it classify as specialization.
>>
>>94770214
Have fun and remember to strengthen their bloodline

>>94770268
There is one, if you go to THAT place
>>
>>94770300
Seems good to me. How much is being specialist gonna cost?
>>
>>94770254
Nta, but I am not sure if that would work.
This isn't an existing magic system where known spells have known costs, it's a personalized ability derived from your mental state that can be further empowered by you actually sacrificing things and inconveniencing yourself.

Just adding a cost that is neither significant nor difficult for you to acquire probably isn't gonna amount to much.

Though you probably could get something that is costly for you in the jump and then find a way to make it much cheaper later.
Or even something significant at the start of the jump that can be compensated for within the jump. Like I could imagine a very poor person with money struggles creating a condition that requires them to sacrifice an amount of money that is really significant for a decent boost only to then ne able to meet that cost rather easily as they become more wealthy.
>>
>>94770300
>specialists can just do anything
Pretty much, because their Unique Effect can be pretty much anything.

How broken would infinite Nen be in Hunter X Hunter?
>>
>>94770293
Kurapika's eyes going red is a Kurta characteristic when they have strong emotions, wich in his case is the trigger to become specialist, and when he's specialist he can use his specialist ability Emperor Time.
>>94770300
Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to get to, specialization encompasses effects that would normally be combination of the others.
>>
>>94770313
200.
>>
>>94770330
Depends on your Hatsu and skill.
>>
>>94770330
It would be pretty absurd because you can make abilities in Hunter x Hunter whose downside is costing a lot of aura at once, so being able to just spam those endlessly would be nuts.
>>
>>94770316
I mean, I assumed these costs were judged by some kind of external objective standard. If all that is determined by the user's own mentality that actually makes it more busted because you can just become obsessed to power up.

>>
>>94770394

>>
>>94770330
Depends, if it's your potential aura or your actually usable one.

Infinite potential aura is pretty awesome in that your growth through training has no limit anymore and you can always get more powerful, but actually training to access more of your potential aura is pretty time consuming and unless you're a prodigy like gon and killua usually takes months of time for minor increases.

Infinite usable aura basically makes you unbreakable if your output is up to par.
>>
>>94770356
Nta but it's made very clear that that's kinda how nen works. Kurapika probably learned nen at the same time as Gon and Killua but because he was obsessed with his Sasuke revenge mission he became so powerful he could physically contend with the physically strongest member of the Phantom Troupe and low diff him. Mind you that scales his physical abilities well above Chrollo, who was fighting Silva and Zeno Zoldyck simultaneously and not getting instantly obliterated. I'm pretty sure Silva even said he might have to die just to take Chrollo down. Gon and Killua literally never became as strong as Silva (except when Gon went super Saiyan) and Kurapika got that strong after one arc all off of pure motivation.

>>94770429
That's not even the craziest example. The craziest example was Gon getting so pissed off he was able to make a nen contract which temporarily turned him into a far more experienced and developed adult version of himself. This instantly made him the strongest nen user on the planet aside from Meruem, who is basically a perfect Cell super being. Even then him vs Meruem would be at least a bit contentious. This had very severe consequences later on, but everyone was astonished he was able to do it at all which shows it probably takes some level of skill
>>
>>94770514
Gon's thing was a limitation that allowed him to use every single bit of Nen he'd ever have all at once.

It's like how Kurapika got an absurd amount of extra power out of one of his chains by making it so it'd just straight up kill him if he uses it against anyone except the phantom troupe
>>
What class of Nen would persona style social links be? That is, you form bonds with other people and as your advance those bonds you unlock reciprocal small benefits for both you and the other end of the bond? >>
>>94770532

God is dead, humanity assaulted heaven with their own crafted gods and wrecked shit so badly existance is literally falling apart. And the angels hate humanities guts so much that every human soul gets sent straight to torture chamber forever. Your character bonds with a exaltation word of creation, a shard of existance, which gives you power over a domain such as magic, war, birds, etc. the sun domain is one of the most overpowered ones you either to try and fix the world, or carve out your own little domain to reign as supreme god.

I know that it was mentioned when Killua went to get Alluka/Nanika's help in chapter 321. I stumbled across it while researching Nanika's stuff for an argument a few days back

... I vaguely remember it being mentioned back when Gon actually did it, but I haven't read that chapter in a few years.
>>
>>94770554
Unironically it's valid for any nen type because you can make a Hatsu and then make it more powerful by making a contract where it only can be used against Son Gohan and if you use it against anyone else you instantly die.
>>
>>94770532
It actually could be a Manipulatior since you're essentially manipulating others and yourself and your esoteric connection to get benefits on both sides if certain preconditions are met. I don't even think you need to dip into Specialization for something like that.
>>
>>94770554
Yes
>>
>>94770553
To be fair he got healed through the ultimate plot device that is Nanika.

Anyway, I do recall it being said that Gon achieved that form by "burning through all his potential all at once" but I can't remember who said that or when, so I guess that doesn't count for much.
>>
>>94770532
Specialist, though I kinda like the idea of faking something this through conjuration of friendship bracelets. Though you'd probably need the ability to boost the bracelet itself rather than the user(you can have conjured objects enhance the user like we see with Kurapika's healing chain, but that is gonna be pretty weak as a pure conjurer)

>2.) Form a mutual contract between them and myself whereby they return the aura I gave them with an impression of their own use of Nen.
>3.) Transfer of knowledge and supplementation of Nen talent in ongoing contracts between myself and multiple other people. Social Links can degrade if our friendship weakens, but otherwise neither party can voluntarily break the contract.

Backwater Old Man Becomes A Swordmaster is the name I think. The scene features a Blacksmith who can see a representation of a person's sword skills/potential by shaking their hand if I recall, and after shaking the protagonist's hand he's treated to this sight which fucks him up for a second because he's used to seeing things like a large bull or whatever. The series is okay, but I thought this scene specifically went really hard so I kept the screenshot. Probably don't pick up the series even if you like that type of story. It updates at a truly glacial pace.

The Dark Continent arc starts up. Basically, the Hunter Association has to elect a new chairman, Killua gets his genie little sister from the Dark Continent to heal Gon, Gon finally meets his deadbeat dad and then he and Killua go their separate ways with Gon going home to study for school. The story then becomes about Kurapika, Ging, the rest of the top HA dudes and Netero's son getting on a big whale boat to go to the Dark Continent. Most of it has been a massive Game of Thrones style war of succession on the giant whale boat between the 14 princes of Kakin, the nation sending the whale boats to the Dark Continent. Also Hisoka fought Chrollo, lost, died, revived himself with post mortem gum and killed two members of the Phantom Troupe so the Troupe is on the boat looking for him.

Maybe consider using something like the Conjuration Hatsu of Knuckle that involves sharing his aura with someone he hits which then results in a small nen beast attaching itselfs to them to accumulate interest the user has to pay back.

You could potentially attach tiny cupids to people that work like what you describe.

I could even see it getting cuter or uglier as the relationship improves or degrades.

Started in Batman the Animated Series where I picked up Hybridization and Legitimate Businessman as a Scientist, along with a lot of money. Gonna make a lot of animal hybrids with dog brains to skip thousands of years of domestication and call myself Houndmaster. Gonna run a pet shop. Gonna go into seclusion training after Batman beats my ass several times and learn the way of the blade only to come back and get my ass kicked again. How are you?
>>
>>94770693
Makes sense, it involves detaching his aura and sticking it on someone else, the nen beast could be conjured and it would work due to a contract. Similar to how based Morel transmutes smoke despite transmutation being his weakest category but his contract makes it work.

What would it take to make a Domain Expansion in HXH?
>>
>>94770693
The manga doesn't state either way, but the chart released by the author shows that he's a conjurer.

It could still utilize parts of emission I guess, but it most likely isn't the main focus, considering how bad of an idea going that far out of your type for your main ability is supposed to be

>>94770703

That's why I specified main ability.

If you have several you can probably spare some devotion to other types, but if your entire style resolves around a single ability, then basing it around a type you can only use 40% as powerful as you could your main ability would be a horrible idea.

If you do go outside your type you at least should stick to nearby ones. Like I could totally see an enhancer having a hatsu that combines Emission and Transmutation for example. Since both are usable at 80% and could result in some interesting combos.

I can't recall if I have brought it up here before, and I haven't read the latest volume yet, but I am quite certain that Deathmonger's activities are intended to prepare for the inevitable alien attack, and she may actually have been a former member of hero leadership. We know that the former leaders all stepped down. We don't know who they are, or where they went. It's quite possible that some or all of them have since become high level villains and are continuing their efforts to prepare for the aliens through less than legal means. We know that they are willing to accept a utilitarian view of things where the ends justify the means and atrocities are acceptable as long as it preserves the human race. No longer being able to operate as heroes it's quite reasonable they would justify working instead on the other side of the fence. Deathmonger in particular is interesting. Her only apparent goal is to increase her number of super dead slave soldiers. As far as we know she has no other goals other than growing her army. We don't see her using her army for anything other than building up her army. If you think about it, an army of enslaved super dead who are incapable of breaking and running may be a better force for fighting off the aliens than living heroes who could potentially prove cowards. She also seems remarkably well adjusted all things considered from her interactions with Emp. She doesn't seem power hungry or greedy like most of the other villians we see. Her being a former hero, or potentially a deniable operative for the powers that be carrying out a mission for one or more members of the former or current hero council can not be discarded in my opinion.

Guess what chucklefuck? We actually got a relevant answer here!

The Rasengan is a jutsu that Naruto took one month to learn to cast to a basic level. We actually saw the full learning process and how difficult it was for Naruto to develop this...but there's more! We know how long it took for Minato to actually INVENT the goddamn thing in the first place: three years. Based on this, we know that Naruto was extremely swift in actually learning how to develop the jutsu. We know this because the anime actively shows us his learning process, tells us how long it should have taken a normal person to develop, and hypes up how he actually learned the thing very quickly.

Do we ever see a learning process for domains? Do we ever hear how long it takes for an average person to develop a Binding Vow? Do we get any information at all about how hard something is except "only geniuses do this" WHEN EVERYONE IS ALREADY ASSUMED TO BE A GENIUS?

Literally everyone in the first episode and several episodes afterwards questions HOW THE FUCK Naruto did that, and all we got is "he trained really, really, really fucking hard for hours upon hours while under a crazy time crunch". It is highlighted as being bullshit learning speed, and we know for a fact that he didn't learn it instantly but instead fought and sweated to get it down as fast as possible. We also know that normal people simply can't actually use the jutsu due to chakra costs, so we don't have an actual comparison to normal learning times because /they don't exist/ as this isn't something normal ninja can use. There is actual explanations for why the information is missing, how Naruto learned it, and it's STILL shown to be a crazy feat of learning on Naruto's part.

Going by the anime, inside of Kirby is some sort of pocket dimension. In addition to what >>94771026 said based on the ending of Star Allies, clearly Kirby is a similar existence to Galactus: A cosmic devourer whose being can encompass life, matter, information and all other aspects of existence-but with the moral agency to either continue being the cosmic devourer and nothing else (Zero, Dark Matter, Base Galactus etc) or to use that energy to create and preserve as well (Kirby, Lifebringer Galactus).

Except Kirby, unlike Galactus, put all his stats into END by compressing all his power into a small pink singularity. Sacrificing the greater cosmic stature of manifestations such as Zero and Void Termina in exchange for his smallness being able to replicate powers quicker and never actually get hurt so he can win battles with his vaster kin on attrition.

Nta, but Naruto didn't master that level of shape transformation for his Rasengan in that month though as his chakra control wasn't sufficient, that's why he needed his clones, kurama or sage mode supporting him to use it.

The first time you can say Naruto Masters the Rasengan is in the fourth Shinobi war after acquiring chakra enlightenment.
>>
>>94771071
And you're being an ass again, because I actually provided an in-depth answer instead of "I don't know". We know how long it took Naruto to learn Shadow Clone. We don't know how long it takes normal ninja to do so, but we do at least know that it took Naruto most of a single day-and that showed that despite being treated as an idiot, Naruto actually does have a spark of genius in him when it comes to learning.

How long does it take to develop a binding vow. Any binding vow. ANY FUCKING BINDING VOW.
>>
>>94771071

I'd rather just sort of squash the problem immediately and just sort of assert myself as a psuedo deity who forces them to get their shit together in-between sessions of putting almost every church official to death. Negotiations are optional when you're brutal and strong enough. Plus the rebellion happening would shake them up tremendously even if it fails. Vult was considered a hero until that point.

This is a long justification for me opting to get with Celestine. She's sweet and the dichotomy between her and a guy who doesn't flinch to enact bronze age level punishments running things is a bit comical.
>>
>>94771077
I have the proof that nobody did that, and it's often remarked that it is in fact complex, under the same "logic" you can't tell creating a better Hogyoku is any difficult, or learning the shadow clone, or making a nen contract to have omnipotence.

No, it's straight up limited in power output.

Like the strongest technique you can make in a type other than your own is never gonna be as strong as the most powerful one in your own.

Of course if your powerful enough, than even only being able to use a type at half strength could still be more powerful than most users who have that type using it at full strength.

Looked through the chapter where he uses a Binding Vow on his technique, and at no point anywhere does it say this. It just says he uses a binding vow to limit how many times a second he can use his technique in exchange for expanding his range. That's it. That's all it says.

As a complete non-expert who watched and read JJK with my brain fully turned off for safety purposes, I can at least attest it's also comforting to know I can basically make up whatever rules I want in JJK as long as they vaguely approximate shounen anime cliches, and I can pretty much do what I want.

Like if you buy the 800 CP version of a CT I'm pretty sure at this point you can come up with your own version of a Hogyoku with enough time, Cursed Energy and nebulous shounen things. I mean that was basically the point of the culling games wasn't it? Gathering a bunch of strong retards to fight until Kenjaku could just shove everyone into Tengen to see what would happen. Not that Gege, from what I remember, ever actually explained what "the evolution of Cursed Energy" might actually looked like, just that Kenjaku was really excited about it. Hell for all we know maybe it wouldn't have done anything except made Tengen explode into a fuckload of demons, and Kenjaku's dream is impossible.

As valid a use for Binding Vows as anything else-but seriously, don't sleep on the Healer perk. I can think of like three different Jumps where you can make it so any power you have can be used for healing, and yet NONE of them provide something to actually reverse your powers effects. One-dimensional powers like "unlock anything" suddenly become able to create unbreakable locks or make unbreakable bonds, or things that would let you control one element might let you control its conceptual opposite-or just outright unmake that element. It's a really versatile perk that lets you more than double your versatility instantly.

Has nothing to Cdo with the statement given by Gojo on Barriers. Has nothing to do with Binding Vows at all, and frankly doesn't even have anything to do with skill. As far as you know, Gojo's statement could mean that it requires a high investment of CE, not like we know what the energy costs of barriers are or if there even are any. We're told that 80% of a sorcerer's abilities are inborn talent and most of that is CT, meaning Barriers can't possibly matter so much since anyone can learn them. They're at most 20% of what anyone can achieve.

Anyone know of any perks that let you translate spells between magic systems other than the one in overlord?
>>
>>94771242
An actually interesting question! The answer is multifaceted and depends on a few factors.
>How strong are you?
>How structurally sound is the airliner?
>How does your super strength manifest?
If your super strength is a manifestation of tactile telekinesis, then you can ignore the airliner's structural integrity and-assuming you've got the strength to-lift it. If it isn't, then you need to consider positioning, structural integrity, and other factors to ensure that you don't just end up ripping chunks out of the airliner instead of lifting it. It should still be possible mind you, but it would be much more difficult and tricky to pull off. All assuming you have the requisite strength to do so, which is not a guarantee; lifting a car with one hand is super strength, but is nowhere near enough to lift an airliner after all.

The real answer is it depends on how big you are, because an airliner isn't a super tough future construct like Metal Gear Excellus so if you're man-sized and are strong enough to pick it up you might end up tearing off chunks of it instead because of tensile strength and the concentration of kinetic force.

...curiously the recent lore slightly changed Dark Matter's motivation. The 2022 Kirby encylopaedia states that it was trying to terraform Dream Land into a world more suitable for it's kind, but the 1995 Saishin Hoshi no Kirby Ōhyakka states that it attacked Dream Land out of loneliness and envy at it's inhabitants' camaraderie.

Duel Monsters Shadow Realm has this perk
>Spell Reproduction(600): There is no need to re-invent the wheel when it comes to magic, even with the various esoteric schools that exist in this world, from Attribution manipulation to enchantments. You need only walk on the shoulders of giants after stealing their notes. After witnessing a spell in action, you can quickly process the steps and energies involved in its execution, letting you memorize it and potentially use it yourself. This works best if you actually take time to digest and study the spell in question, however, especially for complex or powerful spells that may take weeks of study. While incredibly unique spells you are incapable of learning (due to a lack of an innate power or lacking the energies for it, for instance) remain impossible to cast for the reason involved, you can ‘adapt’ the spell to a magic system or school of your choosing. While the costs will be proportional to what you’re substituting for, and may not be a perfect recreation, you will find the mixing and matching of spells much easier to accomplish.
It also got a perk to turn spells into different elemental variations
>Spirit Arts(400): You’ve learnt much from your familiar, and you now can put those lessons into action! You’re capable of creating “attribute” based versions of other spells you know(to make them easier to cast for you), and you can also teach your Familiar(if you have one, such as from Jumper the Attribute Charmer) to cast spells of that attribute independently of your own capabilities. They grow up so fast.

The problem here, of course, is that you are attempting to apply effort to things we know don't require it. We have seen SEVERAL examples of Binding Vows made on the spot with no thought, preparation, or effort. We have no examples of binding vows taking actual time to develop beyond "Todo needed to fine tune his technique", which could mean anything from "he needed to figure how to work his technique through a vibroslap", "he needed to figure out the exact exchange rate to fine tune his binding vow" or even just "he needed to get fucking used to it". We have examples of giving up shit for binding vows only to immediately take it back afterwards-see Hakari. We have examples of giving up things you didn't even want in the first place to get a better deal out of binding vows.

At some point you need to face facts. Binding Vows are exploitable as all fuck, take no effort to make, and can be gamed to hell and back if anyone actually stopped to think about it.

That's simply how binding vow work, and I'm the first who always said it was broken, since the very concept was stated by Kenjaku.
The thing we disagree on is that they still require skill, they can be gamed to make a uberstrong barrier but you need to know how to make that barrier, they can be used to slash at space itself, if it's something you understand how to do it.

>Both can transform into seemingly everything, implying they have some kind of primordial DNA
Another small point of clarification: While yes, Kirby's primordial origins are acknowledged by Star Allies, strictly speaking he doesn't transform in the same way as Mew. He doesn't turn into Dedede when he gets his hanmer for example, he just gets a funny hat and a hammer while still being a pink borb. Mouthful Mode is explicitly a new power he somehow gained from being pulled through to the Forgotten Land by Fecto Forgo's machinations.

Instead of outright changing shape, Kirby is more like ORT in that he absorbs the essence of whatever he eats and outputs it as his own version, easily controlling forces as destructive as Morpho Knight's power.

I enjoyed the anime in a WWE kind of way, as in I just tuned out everything else and enjoyed the OST and the fights once I realised I wasn't invested in any specific character at all. My enjoyment of it comes from like, 80% the production values put into the fight and 20% from how salty the non-special characters act when put up next to the special characters. Because the series doesn't even PRETEND the non-special characters have a snowball's chance in hell of catching up to the main group, everyone suffers, and there is very little fair play in fights. I take a certain amount of schadenfreude in watching the weak lament their helplessness.

TLDR objectively it's not very well-written, but if fights + music + suffering is your thing, it's decent white noise.

This is terrible reasoning because it could very well be argued that they aren't. It's as valid an interpretation as any other. The lack of information means you don't know it it is in fact complex. There is more information contradicting that interpretation than otherwise.

In Sunless Skies space isn't a vacuum; it's incredibly cold but breathable. The stars are also all reality-warping deities. The empty wasteland between the worlds of the Judgements is as vast as conventional outer space to be though, so you'll still need some means of FTL; the local FTL is essentially using the Correspondence (language of the stars) to shunt you at incredible speeds into wormholes that are literal holes burrowed through space by extrasolar dragons.

Wrong. Domains are a matter of talent, not skill. Some people can do it and some people can't and it has nothing to do with real difficulty at all. >The highlights
Also despite what I just said, I honestly feel Takaba vs Kenjaku is the highlight of the entire series. I feel JJK's strongest writing comes from focusing on one or two characters' journey towards self-improvement; it's when it does anything else that the author seems to just kinda lose the plot. I started out reading that fight for the lulz, but I ended up cheering on Takaba reflecting on his life and realising he really is willing to lay it down on the line to prove to this random murderous psychopath that yes, he DOES love comedy.

I'm going to preemptively rebuke whatever argument you might think of making about the month long alluded to pocket dimension training montage near the end of the manga(which is not actually shown in detail). That was tainted by the fact that everyone involved was using Ui Ui to swap their souls around to exchange skill at otherwise impossible speed. We can't even say if it's possible for the characters involved to have ever learned any of the shit they did no matter how long they had otherwise because they learned it in such unnatural ways

>>94771450
You evidently do not know how Nen works, do not claim otherwise when we can see you don't by equating it to Cursed Energy, Nen has explicit details and conversations between characters with in universe examples for things which Cursed Energy never addresses even in passing. Like, the minimum known age for any of the ones this applies to given an initial encounter is around 800 compared to Tio's mere 500(-ish?). It kind of makes me want to speedrun some FE builds for the antics they'd get up to if all of them were in the same space. RPG system early on can be useful for getting your feet under you by letting you work within a set of known constraints that you can focus on improving. [Ghost Finders redux]

>Previously on Career Advancement: https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/94727051/#94727370

As my first act as Walker, I marched on over to the hidden basement where a guy was cybernetically plugged into countless CCTV cameras and promptly dismantled the entire system. I then informed the superintendent that I'd effectively condensed the status of Walker into being an actual divine mantle, and that his services were no longer required. The man happily ran off into the streets, no longer a slave to Big Oligarchy.

I was vaguely annoyed that the previous management was so incompetent, I'd somehow made the job LESS dystopian in trying to streamline it.

The palms were greased. The bills were signed off on. The cogs behind London's seedy otherworld were carefully greased. The new Authorities complemented me on being an efficient functionary, mostly in approval and only somewhat in terror. I asked them if they were aware they were abusing their Excrucian by letting her Eide metastasize. They asked me what an Excrucian even was. I pointed at Jessica Sorrow the Unbeliever, and repeated my expert assessment that if they didn't do anything, in a few more years she risked her powers backfiring on her and the universe disbelieving her out of existence. This greatly worried the Authorities, which gave me time to pursue what I was actually interested in.

First, I made a stop by Abraxas Industries: A weapons manufacturer founded by the sons of Cain, and the original creators of what I was looking for. I requested specific blueprints. The secretary paled and protested. I reminded her I was the new Walker. Eventually, upper management reluctantly complied.

Then, I made a stop by the Street of the Gods. I politely informed the nearest pagan deity that I wanted to renegotiate the mystic energy contribution that had formerly been used to suppress the Lord of Thorns' power.

The deity, some sort of outdated indo-european skyfather archetype, paled in horror as he babbled I wasn't supposed to know about that deal yet. I reminded him I was the Walker and that I knew a lot of things that could be problematic if he didn't fetch me someone who could help me trace down the residual energy left by this world's Lilith when she'd hijacked the Street looking for her children. As I pulled out a rape kit and started diligently swabbing various objects, his relief at my discretion changed to justified mounting dread at what I would even want with bits of Lilith residual.

And last but not least, I created a monstergirl adapted to the Nightside.

I palmed the orb of divine light I'd originally brought as part of my intended transaction with this world's Lilith as I pondered my choices, in the same bar John Taylor was known to favour. The barman looked like he couldn't decide whether to slap or hug me after I'd first cracked down on angel bodily fluid-based liquor, and then offered to replace it with Malfean stock. I stirred the divine energy I'd secured from the Street of the Gods into my unspent creative essence like the unholy cocktail the barman was cooking up. I reviewed the Nightside again. There were no shortage of powerful, deadly potential stock here-and that was the problem. Choice paralysis in the land where Time himself went out and about in his sunday best.

Abruptly I noticed the vulture on the counter. It was a creature of endless spite and malice, forced to bear the sins of a human woman. In other words, it was the perfect germinating ground for the healthy seed-succ of a Lilim. While the barman was out reorganising the stock, I committed immaculate conception with the vulture, then left.

Lilith loomed out of the darkness while I was triumphantly performing a Chaldea-style summon..

"All that effort for something our girls could probably pick up, given time?" she asked. As any scholar at Chaldea could tell you, it was not uncommon to summon Servants from the past or future with their in-house summoning system. A system that fairy magecraft could replicate. All I had to do to replicate THAT magecraft was clarify with my local benefactors I needed something more complex than a combined energy friendship beam this time.

"The point is mass production. Reliability. And universality" I said, as she eyed my set up. Tree-like constructs made from the fusion of Light and Darkness in the Naturia network's image and networks of tonal physics intersected with webs of light emitted from a White Lantern Ring, while several Motherboxes went PING.

With a sudden PING, a single rib of this world's Lilith pupped into existence in a summoning circle.

With a second PING, a small fluffy monstergirl popped into existence. "Henwo daddy!" she said, immediately vomiting all over herself. "Hungry! HUNGRY! I'm STARVING! Got rotting corpses!??"

"Just Taco Bell" I said, waving a paper bag.

"Close enough" she said. She let out a territorial SKREEEEONK at Lilith before eating the whole rancid feast-paper bag and all as I chucked it in.

Prongs of divine light swept LIDAR-style over both the monstergirl and the rib, synchronising the spiritron makeup of Abraxus' blueprints with the monstergirl. In a third circle, something akin to 3D printing happened in far more dimensions, slowly reconstructing the weapon.

And then, I got a text from John Taylor announcing he'd just received Excalibur and people were showing up and asking what to do with it. The man had a second near-heart attack experience as I used my Timeslip to get into his house past all his wards.

His girlfriend just gave me both barrels of a shotgun at point blank range, which I space-warped out into the night sky.

"Now that we've established we BOTH have ways to dismiss bullets, I'm asking you to hear me out as someone who's held that bloody sword before" I said patiently. "You're not the lost King of Camelot, you're meant to deliver it to the actual one who's been buried under the bar I just left. Try not to shock the barman too badly, he's only just found out his vulture's pregnant. He in turn is meant to rally the London Knights, founded by Sir Kae-yes, the same one you had a brawl with back in time-to defend the Nightside against an imminent fairy civil war. Instead of getting embroiled with unseen malicious forces, I suggest I use my Timeslip to escort you IMMEDIATELY to a hard drink and to rally the armies of men against fae. What say you?"

"I say GET OUT OF MY BLOODY HOUSE, AND TAKE THAT VERSION OF MY MOTHER WITH YOU" said John Taylor loudly as I sighed, politely walked out with my hands over my head, and Lilith just walked through several more shotgun blasts like they were punching through fog to follow me while serenely flipping off the happy-ish couple. After some furious debate John strolled out and admitted that actually yes, that would actually be really convenient.

I have seen the Arthurian monomyth played out time and time again, so I was utterly unphased when the barrel-chested bear of a man that was this world's King Arthur rose from his grace-and everyone else except Lilith knelt. Nor was I surprised that this world's Merlin, who by all accounts had been a lecher and the literal spawn of Satan, left behind a magical hologram to encourage his old friend to keep going. Nor was I even remotely phased that once again, fairies were the absolute fucking worst despite several people trying to pretend they were honourable sorts at some point.

"Heavier than it looks, isn't it?" I simply asked the other Arthur.

"Aye. But it's like a riding a horse" he said ruefully, "you never quite forget"

We didn't participate in the ensuring neighbourhood militia defence much-not immediately. I went right back to my lab while my copy of Unlimited Blade Works' trace of this world's Excalibur was still fresh. It was, in many ways, a counterpart to the weapon I actually wanted to make: A shard of light from God's creation of the world forged into a principle of salvation. In other words, it would take godlike power to reconstruct it with magecraft principles even once they were reconciled with this world's magic.

...

"Oh NO, not you again!" complained [generic skyfather] as I went right back to the Street of the Gods. Then they saw Lilith. All of them started screaming at once.

"No listen, I want to cut a deal-"

"Hey is it really true you guys kicked my counterpart out of her own land?" asked Lilith, folding her arms.

"THE END IS NIGH! THE END IS-'

"ATTENTION!" I demanded, taking out some of the Bread and Water of life I'd baked to true perfection using the Life Transforming Flame Technique, Undertale fire magic and the divine cooking I'd attained in Actraiser. "Smell it? Original Mesopotamian recipe with new Judeo-Christian supplements! Who here among you is a god of swords? I'm willing to offer three loaves to anyone willing to synch their powers with mine and rebuild a sword" I announced, as random gods started drooling.

As I left with my newly forged copy of this world's Excalibur, I wonder if I should have mentioned I'd also incorporated dwarf bread baking techniques into this particular recipe.

When we got back to my lab, the monstergirl and the Lilith rib had been desummoned, and it was finished. The Speaking Gun: A weapon capable of echoing the words God used to create the universe and speaking the true name of almost anything it was pointed.
Backwards.
Unmaking it utterly.

"Someday, we are going to make Nyarlathotep weep together" I told it fondly, rocking it gently.

All in all a pretty standard low level adventure about being a tomb raider.

>>
Ok this is an actual ethical question. So in the Exalted First Age jump I have come to need a large supply of Soulsteel. As an elder Solar I could just use wyld shaping to make some but that process is slow. Would it be wrong to instead use wyld shaping to create a city before detonating a Soulbreaker Orb and harvesting the resulting ghosts to forge into Soulsteel? The so-called people did not exist until moments before being harvested and only exist to fulfill that purpose so I believe there is a good argument that no one is actually being harmed.

Writer's block.
>>
>>94771945
You are correct that so-called "writer's block" is an affliction of the undisciplined caused by an inability to self-regulate. Thus, you weren't wrong to reference it in reply to a post asking what you were up to i.e. what you were doing, because it is an action you are perpetuating upon yourself rather than a state that has been inflicted on you.
>>
>>94771933
I see your slope is both extra slippery and particularly steep.
>>
>>94771941
So according to the 2e core Wyld-Shaping Technique can't make real things since they will cease to exist if they stop interacting with Creation but Wyld Cauldron Technology explicitly lets you make your creations real. I personally houserule that they become real people who are woven into the Loom but the charms aren't explicitly clear on the issue.

>>94771942
>>94771974
My goal is to prevent Oblivion from consuming everything. I'm trying to make what is in effect a massive Soulsteel plug to stopper the gaping hole of absolute nothingness.
>>
>>94771852
Takei's Journey, it's not really good though so I wouldn't recommend it. The only thing it has going for it versus something like Jikage Rising is sheer amount of characters. The models, the story, etc, are all pretty meh. For some reason nearly everyone is down to try anal before vaginal sex. Like it'd make sense for one or two married women but it's most of the married women and 90% of the virgins.

>mechanics explanation
Fair enough. I'd say it's viable. We can't say nobody's suffering, cause the people being soulforged will still be fll-fledged humans that were fashioned into soulsteel, but they only existed as humans for a few moments before getting nabbed, so it's probably fine. Like in any setting where you were judged off objective moral qualifiers, you'd go straight to Hell, but Exalted ain't one of them and both Hell and the Underworld can be perfectly pleasant depending on where you are.

Do it.
>>
>>94771906
They aren't that large IRL. You need a Mahajangasuchus to reach near-horse sizes.
>>
>>94772011
That is laid out in WST but WCT makes things real which means they have to interact with the loom in some regard since they won't just fade out of existence if people forget about them. Maybe I should do it during Calibration since everything is going wonky anyways?

>>
>>94772045
Alternatively ask Autochthon or slip inside him while he is distracted getting everything to go, he has a civilizations worth of Soulsteel in him after he murdered the shit out of one at some point.
>>
>>94771933
Others have responded to the ethical question, so let’s consider whether this will solve your problem. You want to make a lot of Soulsteel, but there’s two parts to making it.
>Soulsteel has two primary ingredients: a black ore found only in the Labyrinth, and souls. Of the two, the first is more dangerous to acquire. The Labyrinth, that endless series of twisting tunnels and hideous chambers that squirms between the Underworld and the Void, acts like putty for the undying nightmares of the Neverborn. Even ghosts fear entering the death-maze and often suffer something more terrible than death if they do, so even the Deathlords find mining soulsteel ore an expensive prospect.
Even after you get the ore and souls, you still have to forge the two into Soulsteel ingots, and if I’m reading Oadenol's Codex right that takes one day per pound. All told, it would be faster to use Wyld shaping or Sorcery to make your Soulsteel.

>>94772045
That charm works on anything, not just people.
>>
>>94772045
>>94772053
Yeah but those are actual people with actual memories. The plug is going to be sealing off Oblivion meaning whatever souls are stuck there are going to be torn at by the infinite nothingness seeking to consume everything. I don't want to condemn potentially innocent people to that.
>>
>>94772034
Technically any crocodiles or alligators can get enormous with enough time and sufficient nutrients. We even get monster crocs and gators today.
>>
>>94772063
I'm pretty sure the guys Autochthon killed were evil but I can't remember exactly.
You could also cut apart the Neverborn and lash them together in a large chastity cage around Oblivion instead of a buttplug. They won't fall in because they can't and it can't swallow everything if their broken corpses are blocking the way.
>>
>>94772069
They made a movie about an infamous gigantic African croc named Gustave like 20 years back (shit) but for whatever reason they marketed it as a movie about a real-life serial killer, using his really high estimated body count to sell it. My aunt fell for it and was pissed it was about an animal.

Well the creation of the Speaking Gun is predicated on a judeo-christian cosmology, so it's a bit like asking where to find your own Holy Grail (the real one, not the magecraft one) or Tablets of Destiny. Having said that, if I had to make my own without the jump my go-to jumps would be Darksiders, Mage the Ascension OR Kindred of the East (if you enjoy a challenge) OR Exalted: World of Darkness and Shadow of the Demon Lord. The former has the Maker capstone, which given the Makers made world-destroying weapons out of an amorphous species is well-suited for the likely level of skill needed. Don't worry about the Spark-locked bit, while likely helpful it'll be covered elsewhere. The most relevant thing about the middle two choices is being a Nephandus/Infernal Exalt (specifically one using the cheesy original artifice rules) which either way lets you tap into sufficiently corruptive, primordial, "anti-good" powers to infuse your DIY Speaking Gun with enough anti-divine aspects. Although Infernalist, Assumption of Leviathan and Word would likely help in the creation of the thing, while Fortean Phenomena would make reverse engineering this divine abomination easier. On the other hand, being an ExWoD Infernal would make the ritual processes MUCH simpler while also (depending on how you interpret game mechanics) potentially start you with contacts with Yama Kings/Maeljin Incarnae that Nephandi can only dream of. I call KotE the challenge option because it's THEORETICALLY possible for a Kindred to become a Yama King (basically a demonic cultivator for all intents and purposes) but it's nigh-impossible to the extent there are no confirmed modern successes. Finally you want Shadow of the Demon Lord for Namer-specifically to be good enough at the genies' God-mutilating naming magic to infuse it into your gun with the other perks and powers.

After that, just find a sufficiently powerful Lilith and start experimenting with her biomass. oWoD, again, has one of the most promising Liliths although she's very hard to get a favour out of unless you figure you participate in a specific Gehenna endgame scenario where you protect her daughter/avatar. DxD Lilith is probably not powerful enough for a truly up to standard Speaking Gun but...well, she starts off conveniently canned and insensate. Either way, you probably want to cook up some sort of demonic flesh cloning vat either with the powers associated with the above or Demonic Infusion from SMT 1 or something to grow your own Lilith flesh because most Liliths tend to fight back when someone tries to rip a rib out of them.

They actually used to be his favourite race long before humanity, in Creation's early days, and they were basically stereotypical grey aliens. After hitting the limits of science and evolution, they decided to build an artifact to take control of Autochthon himself.

...the problem with this plan is that unlike, say, occasionally with Daedric Princes like that one Nord who kept a secret from Herma-Mora for ages, it is always a bad idea to try to beat a Primordial in it's area of competency. So Auto just rocked up in big ball form, opened his dread maw, lasered all their cities to dust and ATE their souls. Causing them to mingle with his voidcancer-ridden innards.

And that's where Soulsteel in Autochthon comes from.

Would anyone be interested in a scenario where your goal for the jump is to buy said luxury liner yourself, without using outside money? you can also take the twins perk from austin powers. Iirc QQ's Haydee 2 jump has an item which is literally an extra body you can use / control alongside your main one and there is nothing stopping you from purchasing it multiple times.

You can actually get quite silly with it.
Ff4s perk creates a Twin that has all of your perks
Alice through the looking glass allows you to be in two places at once
Wonderland no more has a race option that can be bought as a perk
Girls frontline has a perk that lets you be 5 people

At minimum you have 14 "you"

Assuming jumper has a lot of funds, is there any reason to actually bother hiring/commissioning researchers or consultants to make something for you instead of announcing a competition with whoever makes the best thing earning a large sum of money (or immortality if you have access to something like that)? Just seems like a better deal to get potentially dozens/hundreds/thousands of at least somewhat functional prototypes worked on by hundreds/thousands for free (bar one) than one or two viable designs made by a small team. Even if the final prize costs you more than the salaries of a few employees (which is not a given, since the cumulative cost there can add up quick), you still get a lot of useful knowledge.
>>
>>94771676
Skimming this, I think I'd go with either protag or chivalrious companion. Mostly depends on which set of 100s I think my jumper would want most.
>>
>>94772505
Slow and steady. A consistent team (working for you) with consistent funding (from you) and consistent goals (set by you) will give you more useful research than the shotgun approach in the long term. For starters, you can ensure that they actually understand what it is you want them to make, instead of having to hope they read the rules. Moreover, the contest will draw people who want the money, who will not always be the same people who can actually do what you're hoping for. After the second or third con man trying to win the prize with a convincing fake, you'll probably reconsider the whole contest process.
>>
>>94772505
Main problem is that most people won't be able to afford putting aside so much time, effort, and resources for something that /might/ pay the bills. So it inherently selects from a very small section of society, even if in theory anyone can participate. You'll also have to spend a lot just on getting the word out there. What you should do is both hire a reliable stable of researchers, so you have people who can prioritize quality work over survival, and create such lotteries periodically to potentially access talent beyond your normal employee base.
>>
>>94772505
Some things will just require a whole lot of money to develop in the first place; custom parts, special equipment, what have you. Maybe you'll get some rando figuring out how to make the thing with shit fished out of a dumpster and prayers, but it will almost certainly have a whole lot of actual implementation issues and may need entire redesigns from the ground up-and at that point all you found is a guy who's pretty smart and can maybe figure it out, not an actual solution or product.

I want to create an actual opposite to the Ebon Dragon. Not Conky, Conky is clearly a failure given his current addiction to Cosmic Xbox and failure to recognize the Great Curse. I want to create a being of Absolute Virtue. Someone who lifts up all others, who holds endless compassion and temperence, whose will is limitless, whose convictions unshakeable, whose valor is unbound. I want to create a being who sees a path to redemption in even beings who lack anything to redeem, and whose light can shine a darkness that can give hope to even those for whom hope is alien. A being who will never, CAN never, stop fighting for the sake of all things and all the world-always seeking to make everyone and everything into a better, brighter, and more hopeful version of themselves than they were the day before. They don't need to be perfect. In fact, they shouldn't be. Perfect implies they hit a zenith of their ability; they should always be climbing higher, even as they help everyone else climb higher as well.

In short, I want to make a being whose existence is so utterly antithetical to the Ebon Dragon that merely existing within a mile's radius risks the Ebon Dragon's death due to their sheer benevolence and virtue.

Suggestions for going about making such a being?

Yet more chain writing, a newbie gods first introduction to jumper. Not actually what I meant to write, he doesn't get promoted or anything, but I'll do that later.

>Spiritual Nepotism

Lucien Cash had once heard it said that there are eight million gods in Yu Shan. Naturally, it was just his luck that his father was one of the worst ones around. Not a god of death, or of cataclysm, or even war. Those things would be acceptable. Parts of the lifecycle of a world. No, his father was the god of bribery. He'd heard all of the jokes. All of them.

His mother, meanwhile, had been a whore. Well, technically she had been the daughter of a noble house with an ancient history, but that house had collapsed and she'd been... collected. And passed around. Until eventually she met a rather corpulent 'man' at a fairly large party on a beach one day and ended up pregnant from it.

Her best and only gift to him had been to teach him how to escape from the gilded prison that was their life... and then sign him up for the legion, so that when he did escape, he'd be halfway across creation from anyone who knew him. A stableboy, son of a whore, had ended up a bandit lord in the lands of the hundred kingdoms. Or a king himself, depending on who you ask.

Until one day he'd woken up with his blood boiling in his veins and a positively ancient coin clutched in one hand. He'd pushed himself to his limits for the sake of strength, and then stepped across the line of mortality. By decree of the gods, men go no further. Anyone who does anyways is no man. So. Now he was a god.

Things had gone quite well for a brief period, the use of newfound powers and abilities allowing him to shore up weaknesses in his claimed towns. Then he'd kicked a pebble and the god of that pebble had filed a complaint. Things had escalated from there because of course they had, and eventually he'd made his way to Yu Shan. Or been forced to make his way there. Could go either way, really.
>>
>>94772785
And Yu Shan was a shithole. Oh make no mistake, it was the shining gleaming city on the hill... but it was also a shithole. Lucien was a low ranking god. A low ranking god with no allies or contacts worth a damn and who had started his 'career' in the hole because of kicking a pebble of all things. He'd even met his father, though he wasn't sure that was a good thing. The man had offered him a small office in currency - specifically the flow of currency - and promptly bribed someone to let him go on vacation. Lucien kind of hoped he didn't have any half-siblings, but he suspected he had several.

Oh, and the small was literal. Lucian was a very large man. He had been over six feet as a mortal and very muscled from both his time in the legions and as a bandit. He was, according to one six year old child he had once lifted up with one hand - big mclargehuge. As a mortal. He’d gotten bigger, leaving him taller than the roof of his office. He was larger than his desk. Forget wearing his favorite helmet indoors, the horns would probably punch a hole in the roof. Now, according to the manual - and yes, he could read - there was probably a charm or a spell that he could learn and or buy to fix that, buuuuuut. He was a low ranking god. With no allies or contacts, and already in the hole.

So basically it was his childhood all over again, but this time he couldn't lean on his parent for aid. At the end of the day, the only thing he could really do was buckle down and get to work. Sign this memo authorizing certain things, send a nightmare to some guy and a good dream to that other guy. Arrange for someone to get hurt dropping a coin and chasing after it, answer the prayers of a beggar by having that coin bounce into their cup. Except that very little of that had actually worked. Even though his office was allowed to use resources within a limit, it would seem that he wasn't important enough to get things done in a reasonable amount of time.
>>
>>94772788
The beggar had already starved to death and the luck god he'd needed to collaborate with still hadn't gotten back to him about how feasible the plan was. Which… implied things about the state of Yu Shan that he wasn’t entirely comfortable with, because why assign him privileges if not even a tenth of them are going to be answered? His musings were interrupted by a knock on his office door, to which he responded that they should enter. One of his fathers secretaries - who was, presumably, handling the man's entire caseload while he was gone - stood in his doorway. She looked… not well. Tired and ill kept, but also there was a look in her eyes that he recognized from his time as a professional murderer. She thought she might die.

“Please, come in. Did you need me for something?”
“Ah, yes. There’s an orientation of sorts that gets run irregularly, every few thousand new hires. I’ve been requested to bring you there.”
“...That sounds incredibly helpful. Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it. Really, don’t.”

He very slowly squeezed himself out of his tiny office and stretched up to his full height, somewhere around ten feet. He hadn’t quite measured, but he could guess by the size of his weapons and their lengths. Admittedly using a sword as a measuring stick was impressive as all get out, but it worked. They set off, and the secretary led him through a somewhat winding route that seemed to blur at points. He tried to ask about it, but all she said was shortcuts.

>>94772791
Eventually they reached a fairly large amphitheater, populated by a gangly collection of people and probably-people-but-not-human. As he had been told, it was a few thousand of them. She all but shoved him into the room and then bolted. Whoever was giving the orientation was probably scary, then. The woman in the center of the stage, their host he assumed… didn’t seem that bad? Smaller than him, but on the tall side. Black and orange hair - not both at the same time, but somehow directional. As if her hair had an underside and it was orange. Orange eyes as well, and a black dress. Very pretty.

But not scary. She reminded him of an old lady he’d begged food from shortly after escaping the legion, honestly. A nice smile, wide expressive motions, and not a hint of threat in her posture. He frowned at her, trying to unwrap this minor mystery for a short time, before giving up and trying to find a seat. There would be time later. Oh, the chairs changed size. That was very nice.

“Hello!”

He looked up. The woman from before was directly in front of him, smiling brightly. A pamphlet of some kind held in an outstretched hand. Well. So much for waiting.

“Good afternoon, ma’am.”
“I am the Singular Dark. Welcome to Yu Shan. The presentations should answer most questions, but is there anything you wanted to ask before we begin?”
“I am Cash. It’s a pleasure to meet you. And… how much wait is normal for a rejection of services from allotted resources?”

The woman frowns, then sighs. She looks weary for a moment, old.

“Assuming that the individual in question is doing their work at an appropriate pace, minimal. Perhaps a few hours. I’ll check your work and fine them.”
“...I see. Then, may I ask a possibly personal question? The goddess who guided me here seemed terrified of you, but I can’t see why. You seem nice enough.”
>>
>>94772795
The black and orange goddess seems to think that’s funny. Which is somewhat understandable, but he’s also underselling things somewhat. It’s normal to dislike your boss at least somewhat, because they’re always the one giving you things to do. But terror is something else. Something harsher. Her hand raises to the sky and points upwards. She smiles and snaps her fingers, a deep thrumming sound echoing outwards. He doesn’t understand why but he gets the feeling that she’s pointing at something, so he looks upwards.

There is a black dot in the sky. From this distance it isn’t even a pebble, but distance does funny things to size. It grows larger. The people around them start to notice. They heard the snap, but probably weren’t paying attention to who could have done it. It grows larger.

It grows larger.

It grows larger.

Cash looks to the left. He looks to the right. He can no longer see the horizon. Just an endless sheet of black, suspended in the sky upon her outstretched finger.

“By any chance, would you be a goddess of the night sky?”
“No. I am the night sky.”
“I don’t understand the distinction.”
“This is a sphere. Imagine me dropping it.”
“How many of us would that crush?”
“The sphere is larger than Creation.”

He thought about that particular revelation for a moment, and then tried very hard not to think about it any more. That was an excellent reason to be scared.

“...I have no other questions.”

She flexes slightly, pushing upwards, and the darkness retreats. She steps onto stage, and introduces herself to the now very silent gathering. Quavinse. The Singular Dark, and the Maiden's secretary.

“I look forward to working with you all.”

Reminder that the big ball is eighty seven times the size of creation. And also that jumper hates corruption and the secrearies boss is very corrupt on the grounds of being the god of bribery.

Is it possible to have multiple Hatsu?
>>
>>94772886
Yes. Multiple characters use more than one Hatsu and Kurapika has like five. The downside is that means you need to keep up training for all of them and Hisoka implies there's a sort of "mental storage capacity" for them, though I don't think he was being entirely literal.
>>
>>94772886
Yes, Meruem had 4, Cheetu had three, many characcters have more than one nen
>>
>>94772861
Calculating the odds of winning in Nen combat just shows how you're missing the point. You never know what your adversary's ability is. A slight hesitation can cause a fatal turnabout. The outcome is always a fluctuation. Having more or less aura isn't much of an excuse. That's the essence of Nen combat!
>>
>>94772890
Kurapika has 2, His Conjured chains which manifest different abilities depending on his fingers and Emperor Time which gives him that 100% Affinity for the 5 types.
>>
>>94772861
Don't be a fucking idiot. That's for real just the answer. The most dangerous motherfuckers tend to be the ones using their brain harder, because they inevitably come up with better techniques, and then leverage them better than their enemies. Raw stats are great, but HxH is a series of skill diffing the shit out of your opponent. Also being lucky helps because sometimes you can be overwhelmingly superior in every way but still lose because you ran into the exact wrong person.
>>
>>94772912
nta, but the different chain may count as seperate hatsu as can have different conditions applied to them and utilize different nen types.

But the line gets kinda blulrry there..
>>
>>94772890
Technically Kurapika has six, 5 chains and emperor time
>>94772905
>You never know what your adversary's ability is
Nta but this is why Mind reading is one of my favorite powers, it's useful in and out of combat, and in setting with powers more bizzare it can be impossible to win without knowing what the opponent can do unless the author let you "deduce it from nowhere."
>>
>>94772914
>Also being lucky helps because sometimes you can be overwhelmingly superior in every way but still lose because you ran into the exact wrong person.

>>
>>94772942
Probably you're right but as long as I don't reveal my hand it's difficult to trick me, and as Mao showed in Code Geass if I can follow the opponent's multiple thought pattern even if they discover it I will stillbe able to discover their tricks. At any rate I could say I'm too much of a coward for imperfect ways like deducing rather than knowing.
>>
>>94772917
One hatsu doesn't necessarily have to use one nen-type, in fact most hatsus in the series use multiple. Take Morel for example he dips into Manipulation, Emission and Transmutation albeit with a restriction to make his transmutation capability more potent. He can use his hatsu to create multiple seemigly different abilities but they're all ultimately based around manipulating smoke. Kurapika's various chain powers are all fundamentally based off of his own conjured chains, so they're essentially one hatsu.

According to DC, having Aura turns you into a plague rat-like vector for the manifestation of the Grimm in other realities, causing them to mutate and warp reality around them into fairytale-like things even though that is not how the Grimm fucking work to the best of my understanding in their own native goddamn universe. And hey, DC is a whacky woohoo story logic-based world on a fundamental level so if anywhere's susceptible to that sort of thing, it's DC.

We just haven't seen enough crossovers to tell for sure if Team RWBY also sheds viable Grimm spores in other settings.

Start in Pokemon with a Ralts as your starter. The entire Ralts evolutionary line is excellent judges of character thanks to their psychic and empathic abilities, and their judgement will help you avoid pretty girls with shallow personalities. That's not even mentioning how the final evolution of Gardevoir is an immensely powerful Pokemon in their own right with Psychic/Fairy typing and the capacity to conjure miniature black holes in defense of their trainer's life. There's a lot to love about them, really.

I mean, it makes sense. There's plenty of Pokemon, but there's only a handful of actually divine god-Pokemon. Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Xerneas and Yveltal, a few others...there's powerful pokemon, but surprisingly few DIVINE Pokemon. So segregating the "gods" from the rest of the Pokemon makes sense.

And that's not even mentioning that there's not necessarily anything that actually, genuinely separates Humans from Pokemon in the first place. Humans in the Pokeverse are EXPLICITLY a species of Pokemon, are capable of learning Psychic and Aura-based powers, Pokemon are generally fully sapient and even capable of learning to speak human language, and in ancient times there simply wasn't any actual distinction between humans and Pokemon. Pokemon and humans fought side by side in wars, not as master and servant but as fellow soldiers. And humans and Pokemon joined hands together to make a brighter future, for there was no distinction between the two.
>>
>>94773490

I mean-when you really think about it, the Pokeverse is currently in an age of unmatched strife and division. Humans and Pokemon were once joined together as one people, but nowadays one is made almost a slave caste to the other. Pokemon are caught, battled, traded, and even stolen or abused at the whims of human masters, when they are no less people than any human is. Yes, the ideal is that Pokemon and Trainer share a strong bond of friendship-I don't deny that those sorts of trainers and bonds are uplifting and beautiful things. But I still feel like we could do better, BE better than that. We can acknowledge Pokemon as being people in their own right-beautiful, complex, and fully sapient people with their own rights of self-determination. They can choose to remain as battle partners if they want, but they should at least have the CHOICE for it rather than get forced into the life through forceful domination or literally being bred for that purpose.

Pokemon and humanity were once one people together; I think we owe it to Pokemon to remember that history and try to bring back those old ways where there was no difference between Man and Mon.
>>
>>94773504
it doesn't make sense the game doesn't exist. he must have reverse enineered some half finished bait, if you want to obtain something you must at least crete a powerful teleportation hatsu.
>>
>>94773554
>team plasma rhetoric
get outta here
>>
>>94773563
Am I wrong though? Pokemon are PROVABLY fully intelligent beings. We have historical proof of how humanity and Pokemon used to live together as one people rather than the division of the modern day. We owe it to Pokemon to at least acknowledge and respect their own rights to self-determination; to try and make a future where humanity and Pokemon are one people once again.
>>
>>94773554
Counterpoint.
Most of the pokemon are totally into it.

I mean even fucking CYRUS has a 100% loyal pokemon team. Golbat only evolves into Crobat through the power of friendship, and the team is inexplicably still fighting with him in his Darkseid wet dream of a world right there with Dialga/Palkia. That's some serious commitment. And there's no evidence any of them are being abused.
>>
>>94773554
By the look of things it's only going to get worse. People will just make robot pokemon in the future.
>>
>>94773580
And that's why I'm not trying to push for everyone to free their Pokemon or something stupid like that. I know that Pokemon are generally quite happy with the current arrangements; I just want further respect and acknowledgement of Pokemon's rights and self-determination. Things like regulating trading or breeding to require the Pokemon's consent, or giving Pokemon more legal protections against abuse and neglect. The Pokeverse isn't gonna change in a day, but every step will lead towards a brighter future where one day, Man and Pokemon will be one people again.
>>94773584
And that's the path that I will actively work against-the path where the division between Man and Mon becomes absolute and irreparable.

I 100% expect people to bring food and water packed into the cargo areas and only use the recycling system when there is some form of emergency like not having food.

Also Im going to have to plug in some sort of seperate power system for everything, like have multiple systems be modular and able to power themselves but be able to work together like some sort of backup distributed modular power sytem linked to a main reactor.

This is exactly why I turn all my citizens into materialised souls, self-aware ideas, Silver Millennium-style crystal soul people or some other data-based information storage. The logistics of space hygienic are disgusting and horrifying the longer you plan to actually keep all those disgusting meatbags alive in space. Just think about the sorry bastards in Knights of Sidonia who have to wear fucking catheters while dogfighting physics-breaking blobs. You either end up going full Bydo/Zerg/Tyranid/Gravemind and turning everyone into a kind of malleable meat moss that can just grow into whatever's needed, turning everyone into robots (and at that point you might have just used probes to begin with) or doing mental gymnastics while forcing everyone to do physical gymnastics to stave off people turning into long stretchy bois with brittle bones because of how zero-G and lack of sunlight fucks growth. And yes, you can install a big fancy spinny ring to enforce artificial gravity or just use a western cartoon setting's technology to simply kind of have gravity everywhere, but hey. Like I said. At that point, just go all the way.

Anyway, although Stellaris has something for everything if you want a relatively realistic solution I highly reccommend Tropico and Anno 2070. The former has potentially beyond-100% eco friendly energy systems. The latter lets you artificially recreate all manner of natural resources.

Also a fantasy energy system like Mantra is a godsend for logistics, but if you insist on realism then stop by Wall-E too.

Something you're REALLY going to want to get ASAP is some form of heat control or regulation that can work well in space; maintaining survivable tempuratures out in space is a helluva lot more complicated than it is on earth. In space, you can't use convenient heat dispersal mechanisms like the atmosphere-because, of course, there is no atmosphere. This actually renders quite a few forms of heat control a lot more complex, because a lot of our heat control mechanisms boil down to "push it somewhere else" and in space /you can't do that/. The only place for heat to go is the ship itself; it can radiate into the void to some degree, but it's WAY slower than it would normally be in atmosphere to the point that literally cooking inside your own ship is a genuine risk. Yes, you might have coolant-but that's a volatile disposable resource that you'll burn through real quick. Reflective shielding to prevent heat from entering your ship in the first place will help, but only to some degree-and your own systems are going to heat up the ship over time as well.

One solution I personally really like is Ceph technology from Crysis. Ceph tech is really good at absorbing heat from a given area and converting it into usable energy; this is even a mainstay weapon of theirs that is basically a glorified cryo beam. With that, not only do you no longer have to worry about overheating issues-but now you've actively got an extra reserve power source for your ship. It lets you change the whole paradigm of your shipbuilding, even; instead of reflecting and radiating away as much heat as possible (which would likely make you show up as a damn bright glow on heat scanners), you can run "cold" and constantly absorb heat to basically become invisible to heatscanning. Toss in some solar panels/radiation capture tech and you can get a remarkable energy income purely from environmental radiation while also massively jacking up your system's energy efficiency thanks to heat recycling.

Ceph tech can also help quite a bit for solar power actually; solar energy falls HEAVILY in efficiency as the temperature of the solar cells rises, so capturing heat from the solar cells-thus keeping them nice and cold-will ensure maximal efficinecy and even generate a surplus of energy beyond the solar cell's normal output. You could also use Ceph tech to create and maintain superconductors; since cooling this actively increases your overall energy stores, keeping various supercooled systems active won't actively drain your energy and can be extremely useful in a wide variety of ways. Really-Ceph cooling tech is just stupid useful in a whole lot of ways.

Combine the normal 2 with optimized use of the Sword of Something or Other's Bane that eats other swords (absorbing other Four Sword instances, starting from the future and working backwards so you don't retcon pending instances), and you could add at least another two Four Swords to your purchased 16 Sword. Ever heard of Samson and Delilah?
>>
>>94774771
To be fair, he was warned several times to not marry the enemy and that was his second or third wife. The occupying forces kept murdering the others. She was told in no uncertain terms that she would die next, with her family unless she got him weakened and also he knew this. Granted, the reason they wanted him dead was because he was a fucking asshole and kips going on killing sprees. Then killed more when people tried to stop him or call him out.
>>
>>94774241
How do you feel about CaptainKirb's Kurapika art?
>>
>>94774792
Also Delilah kept pushing Samson to tell her the secret of his strength, so he told her a lie. Shortly thereafter he woke up in that exact situation that he claimed would depower him, and broke out. Delilah then demanded to know the secret again, Samson lied again, he woke up in that situation again, and broke out again. This happened several more times, until Samson finally gave in and told Delilah the truth. Guess what happened next.

Yes. Like N, you're completely ignoring the will of the Pokemon that you're "defending". The flaw in your logic is the assumption that you simply know better than the Pokemon and thus the world should change in accordance with how you think it should be. You see oppression where it simply doesn't exist because of this. Your defense of "Pokemon rights" is actually just your own willful ignorance towards the fact that Pokemon endorse the current system and don't want it to change. If they did, they would change it themselves since they have both the will and the means to do so.

I don't prevent it at all, as the others say. Early chain is the mood setter. The biggest stretches of character development are here when jumper is more emotionally vulnerable and creates the deepest bonds as a result.

If the relationship is doomed to fail then it's a learning experience. If it works out well then they're narratively the reason for a ton of things they do going forward. Most of my jumpers are based on myself so the natural instinct isn't to start plotting for events many years into the future but to essentially just try to come to grips with the immediate external and internal problems they'll face. They don't think "this would be great waifu/love interest 40-50 years into the future when I have the powers I want".

Biggest example for me is Calca in Overlord in jump 1. What's the natural reaction for someone filled with the memories of a citizen of a cyberpunk hellscape world and a life before that when they realize they're now a godlike power with their own loyal subjects and base of operations? It isn't exactly "I'm gonna go out there and see all there is to see!" It's "Oh thank God, I'm going to live here away from the pain if the outside world and eat snacks and watch Star Wars and Tarantino movies all day". It's only after meeting other people and coming to care for them that he gains reasons to not hide in a hole and face problems head on. An early love interest helps with that big time. They provide context beyond some dude going smacking people that are evil/he doesn't like with his god powers. Calca both has very serious immenent problems and the kind of personality that would make Jumper want to support her rather than just hanging out and watching her lands and people get violated by ontological evil.

Tldr: You are not immune to waifu propaganda.

>>

A cash is, supposedly, a kind of chinese coin. It felt appropriate. And yes, his father is very well connected. Not the most poweful in terms of essence or skills, but very well connected.

Combination thereof. He doesn't see it yet because he hasn't known her for long - see the line about trying not to think about it - but also because he did nothing wrong. Also note that she mentioned investigating his dad's secretary just off a mention that she wanted to avoid her.

But yeah, Quavinse is going to look into him, find nothing bad, and be like "So anyways how has your time in Yu Shan been? Are you settling in okay?"

Or, in summary, he hasn't been on her bad side yet.

Yes and no. Some bribes are meaningless. A mother trying to get her child to eat vegetables. A man trading shifts with one of his coworkers. A minimal but acceptable level of grease in the social wheels to make things more convenient.

Ruberstamping everything on your desk because you don't care and then going out to lunch is a bit much.
>>
>>94775419
Isn't also dishonor to forsake guest rights by breaking into a home and raping the wife?
>>
>>94775479
You don't need to break in their home, you can simply wait for when she goes outside to collect water and then rape her.
Plus, if they have some sign like "welcome" on their door or house, you can take this, legally, as a sign to enter their home.

In the setting where this is the way of life, how would people view jumper, how doesn't care about honor or face? Jumper can still kill them if needed, but just doesn't bother with the petty insults or jabs that would cause a blood feud. Just leave him and his alone and he won't spank your naked ass in from of the entire royal court like the petulant child you are.
>>
>>94775223
The human form is much more convenient for such things and most birds don't even have a dick.

There's a world of difference between honor and face, and what one society considers honorable another will consider the height of insult. Just saying "death before dishonor as a way of life" isn't enough. You also need to specify culture and what honor actually is.

In addition you will always be at the very top of the genetic potential of either line and in combination that may often result in more than just the sum of its parts.
... Is it bad that my first thought when seeing that perk is that it'd be absolutely absurd to take as a Mongrel Mage Sorcerer in Pathfinder?
>A mongrel mage is a sorcerer whose bloodline is so weak, or mixed with so many others, that her power isn’t clearly associated with any bloodline source. A mongrel mage’s bloodline powers can change on a daily basis, but always fall short of those of a full-blooded sorcerer’s powers. A mongrel mage is a dabbler in all bloodlines but a master of none, and she is looked down upon by true sorcerers.

*My Nen will germinate life within my dreams.

>Rule 5: If I am ever inebriated, what happens to my dream body shall be reflect onto my physical body.
*My Nen will evolve in response to the Nightmare Trial.

The Nightmare Trial is the consequence of getting drunk when you're in a perpetual state of half-awake delirium already, then letting that state of consciousness tangibly impact you. The Lucid Dream becomes ambiguous, rapidly mutating, and violent for the duration; the Nen user is subjected to a surging barrage of dangerous random afflictions conjured from the depths of their imagination, only buoyed by their survival instincts and whatever support network they have available. In this state, the user is neither considered 'awake' or 'asleep', allowing them to semi-consciously wield their Hatsu at far beyond their normal performance.

closest i can think of is the Black Blood perk line in SB's Lord's of the Night: Vampires jump in their D&D folder. Become the Unnamed Mist or the Darkness in DYN Freaks. Both were spawned directly from Azathoth and are infinitely older than any other Outer God, including Yog-Sothoth (and thus the very concept of existence and nonexistence). In fact, Yog-Sothoth is one of the children born from their union.

>>
>>94776833

>>
>>94776927
Well, broadly speaking the highest of the Outer Gods don't have "powers" in a conventional sense. They're vastly beyond the concept of being some dude with superpowers or really even being a character in the conventional sense. They emanate and embody concepts that are infinitely beyond human comprehension as consequences of their existence. For instance, Yog-Sothoth forms the concepts of existence and nonexistence (everything that is and isn't) as a product of simply being. The universe/multiverse exists because of Yog-Sothoth but Yog-Sothoth doesn't exist because of the universe/multiverse. Even if everything was annihilated it wouldn't affect him at all, you'd need some transcendental force beyond all creation to be able to actually harm Yog-Sothoth himself.

With that in mind, you can safely assume that the Darkness is the same. The Darkness is. But what that means for existence isn't really known. The question of what "powers" it has is really a question of what the nature of the Darkness actually is. For example, you could posit that the Darkness represents inscrutability. That the Darkness is the unknown, a void within which no knowledge or wisdom can exist. In which case its "power" would be to reduce everything to nothing and to produce everything from nothing. Its nature is to be inexplicable and unexplainable. Thus it has the ability to do anything without any explanation or nature at all. A void from which everything emerges and into which everything inexorably returns.

Warhammer 40k Question:
I'm trying to get a sense of scale here and reading through wiki sources aren't really helping me.
I understand that Space Marines are monsters when it comes to combat and that most of the time you only see a squad or two of them rampaging around a battlefield and turning the tide entirely.
But I'm having a hard time understanding the comparisons between the various Xeno factions. Like T'au and their battlesuits against Space Maines or Eldar soldiers against Space Marines.
So I guess my question is, if you have ten Space Marines, how many of the other factions forces would you expect to see them put down before getting decimated themselves? Or is this one of those questions that doesn't really have an answer because Warhammer 40k is very "Humanity, Fuck Yeah!"?

I offer an amusing but completely unrelated picture.
>>
>>94777187
He also gets portrayed as the antithesis of Reed Richards, who is both one of the most reviled heroes in all of Marvel and also THE privileged and successful white man. So he's not only made into a good guy because Reeds is a hilariously incompetent, selfish, shortsighted dickhead with a comically long rap sheet but also because whenever a woke writer comes on board they immediately side with Doom against Richards.

Scale is one of those things that's hard to judge in 40k, because so many different writers have depicted so many different ways that conflicts can go, and the lore in an armybook is in-universe propaganda to hype that particualr faction.

Just picture it this way. A space marine is a combination of Captain America and a SPARTAN II. That's your base level, before psykery or named protagonist-tier bullshit gets involved.

What do you imagine armies of those people are going to accomplish, and what is the scale and strength of the threats in the universe that armies of these men struggle and may even lose? There you go, now you've got a sense of scale.

Eldar tend to be pretty on par with space marines in a lot of cases due to 1) just being superior to humans physically and 2) having hundreds to thousands of years of experience all focused within their specialties. Tau get assraped, metaphorically, by space marines on account of Tau being even worse than imperial guard on average and only making up for it with better equipment. Tau Battlesuits tend to fair better but if the space marines are going in expecting to fight battlesuits, and are armed appropriately, then I would still put good money on the space marines. This isn't accounting for named characters on either side who tend to throw off all accounting due to their plot armor.

If you haven't seen it yet and would like a decent example of how space marines fight go to youtube and look up the Astartes short. If you can try to find the original version, not the one that got butchered by Games Workshop and had the music replaced with generic slop which vastly undermines the quality and pacing of the original.

nta but when you kill everyone present you don't need troops to hold ground. The imperium is overflowing with people, if some space marines "liberate" a planet there will be plenty of immigrants to send in from some other place to replace whoever it was that was living there previously. That said space marines generally aren't used like that, they're the equivalent of special forces that go in to achieve specific objectives and then they leave once they've done what they were there to do. It's also worth pointing out that if space marines show up then generally speaking that means at least one space marine strike cruiser fully loaded with support staff, supplies, equipment and vehicles is also there to make sure the space marines have whatever it is they need to get the job done.

As an anon said the lore is so contradictory that it can almost support any view point. That said I think tabletop gives a accuracy relative to each model.

There really not meant to be comic book superheroes, but more like specialist assault troops. Their battlefield role is like super mobile walking tanks.

I'm guessing a squad of Imperial guard vets armed with lascannon/meltas could take them out favorably if caught in ambush.

They're more versatile than aspect warriors but worse in their chosen specialties. Same with drukhari equivlant.

They've got more armor and better melee than Tau crisis suits but worse firepower and mobility.

About on par with hive guard, and necrons not sure.

Infamously, Casey Kasem (voice of several recurring protagonists and antagonists) was so offended by the stereotypical portrayal of middle eastern countries, that he left the show.

Eh, I say more power to the guy. I can't help but respect someone who draws their line in the sand and doesn't cross it. I feel like most others in his place would just accept the paycheck and worrying about justifying it to themselves later.

While I admit it could have been much worse, there's no denying that Carbombya is not a flattering portrayal of Arabs.

JttW power scaling is insane. A dude made a whole video about how Sun Wukong is outer versal because he's a Buddha and then other people in the comments were like " No, he's actually Boundless" like what does that even mean?

Ironically not? The Romans actually cared quite a bit about justifying their wars against other parties, because they liked to maintain a national myth of Just War, in which the Roman state was only ever drawn into War to defend either Rome itself, to defend her allies, or to uphold prior agreements. Even in the Third Punic War, when Rome was blatantly just exercising their paranoia over Carthage being too prosperous (despite Carthage without protest accepting Rome's extremely biased arbitration of every dispute between Carthage and her neighbors), they still felt the need to maneuver Carthage into violating their peace treaty (by violating the peace treaty first and pretending they weren't to force Carthage into raising an army to defend itself from the Numidians) before attacking.

I'm not sure but that sounds like something I would (may later) do.

They did that before the start of the second Punic war too. They made a treaty with Carthage that Rome would stay out of the Iberian peninsula and then fucking broke it immediately, literally immediately and flagrantly, just to have a reason to start the war again

Because there's no option to be the devil from the bible in that jump and the devil in that specific setting is both a metaphor and an allegory

Also going to a setting that's a very aggressive consensus reality and trying to become something that is ultimately just a near powerless shadow of humanity's expectations is probably a bad idea

The health benefits are what makes the wearer long lived. Because dying of old age is caused by wear and tear of the body eventually causing a failure somewhere. So if you have an external system doing extra repair work and healing then it extends your life until that system can't keep up.

Pure opinion but I always feel that OC companions shouldn't get a budget. But instead have abilities that aren't available in the jump or are not possible to build using a standard budget. It makes them different from just using the create a companion option that already lets you make whatever you want.

The specific item in question...
>Fertile River -200cp
>Why? You are now the official owner of a large river, of clean water and large fishes. It’s not just a mundane river, however. Anyone who drinks water directly from the river, whether woman, man, or animal, will immediately become heavily pregnant. The water has to be drunk directly from the river for it to work its magic, but it looks like completely normal water, so tricking people into drinking from it might not be difficult. You could easily maintain a whole kingdom composed of nothing but women with no issues on producing the next generation with this river. Additionally, you also possess a natural wellspring of water hidden in a cave somewhere relatively close to the river (as in, ten miles away), that immediately and painlessly aborts any pregnancy of whoever drinks it, even if the pregnancy is natural instead of produced by drinking the water of the river. You should be careful no one drinks more than a few sips of this abortion water, though, as that can be very lethal. Not that you’re under any obligation to show people where this wellspring is.

What I'm curious about is what determines the traits and characteristics of the child. Will it be a clone of the drinker, or will it be different? What determines the difference if there is one? We know the Kingdom of Women only gave birth to women via the river, but what determined that part? Had Xuanzang (the regular one, not the Fate one who deserved to be impregnated the traditional way ) and Pigsy gotten a c-section, would their children have only been women or would there been a chance they be male?
These are the questions that need answers to them

Theoretically pigsy could have had either since the male genome has both x and y chromosomes but a female genome only has the x.

not as far as you think, you're asking people to endanger their freedom way more than with regular crimes so the price per person is gonna be a lot higher than you think. Like you're not hiring people to beat someone up in a secluded place, you're straight up asking them to publically expose themselves while assaulting people.

People don't actually act on 'who will rid me of this troublesome priest' no matter how obvious the ploy is. Transactional relationships don't happen without more work than that, even for shit a lot less illegal than murder. Like, for example, if you went on livestream waving around fat stacks of cash and said you'd give a million dollars to whoever would leak you the site moderation team's secrets, you honestly probably wouldn't get any takers because you're still being too indirect. Nobody will act on their own without being contacted first and given arrangements, and they won't contact you either.
