>>94802946Did anyone ever claim the trivia prizes for Magi Case?
>>94802973No, no one gave a shit.
>>94802954I dunno, the lack of answers is part of the charm. You're legitimately fucked. Just like her.
>>94802946>2 omnipotent relics were never used for anything even slightly befitting their power even though all their wielders had motiveHow the fuck is this justified in the context of the setting?
>>94803180Auctors are retarded and autistic. That's it. That's the justification.
>>94803180They're literally me
>>94803186But what about the aryans before them?
>spent my holidays playing CYOAs and jerking off>come back to work>coworker start asking questions >where did you go?>I stayed home>What did you do? Play video games?>Uh no...>So what did you do?What do you answer in this situation?
>>94803232Just chillin'
>>94803190Also retarded and autistic.
>>94803232>"I worked on a couple of creative writing projects."Note that this is truthful enough only if you're actually writing for your builds, not just picking things.
>>94803232Tell him you read some books. Italicsloppa is basically image-format novels anyways
>>94803232fapping to soft boipussy
>>94803307What, is he me or something?
>>94799231Not gonna lie, animalistic Melaine makes me diamonds. Wish this concept was more common in fiction and porn, I want to fuck wild women.I think her world in general is just interesting as well, too much fantasy these days focuses on the medieval period.
>>94803323average luminary enjoyer
I want a burgah
>>94803180Italics should remove all the relics. Events where they are involved in can easily be modified to not have them and still play out the same.
>>94803488NTA but agreed, they serve no purpose but to make some OC donut steal character better than everyone else. Narratively they don't do anything whatsoever aside from cement their power base which can be done by just saying they're strong. He wont remove them, he wants players to never be as strong as his OC waifus, but we can dream.
>>94802326>How does Helios even act in the current time. After obtaining unlimited power, Helios is more of a reactive force than a proactive. He doesn't have desires like most people due to a lack of a body and is powered through will ans thinking not to accidentally erase himself. He doesn't feel emotions like others can and should. If his descendant died he would feel bad but not from emotion or her dying, he would feel bad because the last of his direct lineagw died and there goes a talented Necromancer. Most news don't phase him. When he heard about the Lich Council from his death cult members, he thought it was fine since everyone will find their own way towards death and it will make mages stronger. When he meets you, he doesn't have a real response to you and just exudes an aura where people naturally feel like they will die in the next few seconds. The closest thing to illicit a true response from him is probably the presence of Empedocles as he will use her existence as logic to why he continues to exist and basically be a hater.>>94803180Drac doesn't care about ruling the world or even magic. She had the slave mindset of serving the cult who wanted to be gods ans once they disappeared she just sat back to takencare of her clan.Ostane is an Aryan who already views herself as better than everyone including other Aryans. She doesn't give a shit about anyone else except Drac and making sure her Clan kowtows to her. She basically just does experiments to pass the time and have fun, and could careless about the outside world or remaking reality because that would be boring to her and the clean up would be a drag.Drac was the perfect test subject and person to be usee for the Aryan plans. Ostane was a little shit that threw a wrench in the Aryan plans because her servant-gf got bullied/placed higher than her. Then the rest of the Aryans got fucked over. Both have autism.
>>94803498Cry more.
>>94803498>He's still crying.
>italics comes in>two posts immediately mistaking me for some boogieman come to defend himVery telling
>>94803546Would this be possible? >>94801212
>>94803558Anon, if you are even that poster, the two posts above you don't even accuse you of being anyone. You just pulled that out your ass. They just mock you and say to whine more. What is this victim complex?
>>94803570NO ONE UNDERSTANDS HOW SPECIAL I AM! DON'T MOCK ME OR MAKE ANYTHING STRONGER THAN ME!
>>94803570Sorry italics, i know posting a minute apart each post in a dead time just to defend your shit decisions sounded good on paper but all it did was confirm you samefagging to defend your own shit decisions. The funniest part is everytime someone says something thats blatantly obviously retarded about the design every time you go >You just pulled that out your ass.Like most anons here haven't read the cyoa and know i'm objectively correct.
>>94803567Not really feasible as Creation doesn't have inherit logic, it beats out Reason by generating a lot of noise (things) to the point Reason can't keep up and just gets consumed. The closest thing to doing ghis would be the Enigmas from the Galileo Clan. They are just pure product of Creation and their presence breaks down the Reason of anyone that see's them, but the end result is that people become insane/actual schizos because they can't process how things are supposed to work. The closest relic to what you described is Ostane's relic which is part of Creation itself, but that thing got nerfed because Ostane herself is a product of Reason. If you became a powerful Kin and just intruded on the world without getting murdered by an Auctor. You could eventually fuck Reason over, but Creation would leak more into the universe while magic becomes looser and looser to define like in the past. But that's more of a Bad End for humanity and a bunch of life on earth.
>>94803586Anon, I have nothing to do with you or the other two posters shitting on you for not liking something in Magi Case. If you don't like it, I don't care, because we both do our own things. Don't drag me into or pull my name into your little squabble or angry fit because I don't care about it or you.
>>94803624>it DEFINITELY wasn't me please believe meNo
>>94803631I think the funniest part is he does this but only replied to one poster. There's a non 0 chance he was actually baiting for discussion and is now trying to backpeddle.
>>94803637Unironically, pretty likely. We already know he samefags all the time>baits discussion>samefags opposition>tries to play it off like he clearly doesn't care despite while blogpostingOnly one fag replied after getting called out and then italics mysteriously reappears and the guys getting mad and instant replying are gone. It's really sad
>>94803631>>94803637>>94803644Anons, I don't care if you believe me or not at this point. I don't samefag and I didn't do shit. The conversation is over.
Well now that the samefag issue has seen its way out, let's discuss Dragonfall now.
>>94803650Be less obvious in the future and maybe you'll get away with it
>>94803655Post it.
>>94803655You shouldn't mock Tok like that. He'll come out and have another meltdown on the general and post shitty Kill la Kill edits. Or that cringy AI song.
>>94803655I'd rather discuss Angel. Poverty or Hospitality? Heritage or Celibacy? Comfy or max Quintessence?
>>94803323Honestly (slightly insane) Melanie is my second favourite Waifu (right behind slightly insane Oridnae) but despite loving some good Sword and Sorcery I found the Red Door to be the least interesting. Doesn't dive enough in to the setting I think.>>94799216Doorway: Red (Though I long to follow the call of Dim Carcosa)Powers: 10Violence: 2-Peak Performance-Refuse the Bitter PillDispair: 4-A Helping Hand-Orphean RequestCorruption: 4-Left Eye of Ruin-Right Eye of Fortune-Higher TruthsReckonings:

>>94804075>No bearingConfirmed for not reading the CYOA or lore.
>>94804052Wat happened
>>94804097>The Book was created by reason and it regulates and categorizes all magic that enters the world!>Why'd these important functions have to be tied to some book that was given to a loli? Uhhhh... it just did, okay?I agree with the other anons, these things essentially only exist for powerfaggotry. Italics gives "rationale" for their existence but it just leads to more questions than answers and makes the big 2 gods look like idiots. Why did Reason need to create an artifact to regulate magic in its stead, and why did it drop this artifact for the people of Earth to do whatever they want with? Is it not capable of doing this task itself?
>>94804138Again you did not read the lore.

>>94802946>>94802960so why does everyone else get magic that can't be used by those outside the clan (ignoring Yggdrasil) but not Evoco? literally anyone can summon shit all they get is that they can uhhhhh skip the ritual. so why can't all mages use elementalism? Alchemy? why is this the only clan that doesn't actually have any proper magic besides having it be slightly easier to use familiars
>>94804247What are you talking about? Evoco is the only clan that can summon monsters and use summoning magic.
>>94804247Summoning Magic (Evoco Clan Magic) = I can summon fictional monsters and gods into reality at my whim using mana. I have complete control over them and can make them autonomous or not. If I dump enough mana I can make the summons permanent instead of temporary.Contracting System (Invented by Evoco but not exclusive) = I encountered a Monster that manifested in the world by itself. I can do a ritual to make the Monster my subordinate and depend on Mana from my from metaphysical connection to Creation (The thing that gives you Mana) to survive and it won't chimpout and murder humans anymore. I cannot create my own monsters and there is a high chance the Monster doesn't want to bond with me.One is asspulling Monsters into reality and controlling them like a Summoner. The other is asking for a partnership with something that already exists and is independent.

>>94804862I don't get it. How would this harm me? Better yet I would just make myself deaf.
Gil and Celt, former enemies turned lovers.
>>94804841>>94804904Sound is just air vibrations, so with the same logic, someone who controls sounds can also create shockwaves and control kinetic energy. High intensity vibrations can be very lethal and even deafness can't protect you from it. A Malivent Archmage should be able to liquify your organs and turn your bones to dust by amplifying a single note from hundreds of feet away.
>>94804841As a wise anon once said; "everybody gangsta until someone from Malivent figures out a way to create a sound-ghost-hivemind"
>>94804864>reality warping bull crap that never really works out even in fiction, because it’s so absurd.Nigga this is a wish fulfilment hobby. Reality Warping doesn't work in fiction because it ruins the narrative and the power structure of said fiction. But most cyoas are just standalone powerfantasies, so who cares about that?
>>94805022I care about that. I want more tact in my escapism.
>>94805022NTA but all cyoas that give you omnipotence are effectively the same cyoa. You cannot have variation within the theme of doing all things.

>>94804983>>94805008*Deletes you with Elemancy,*
>>94804841The only reason the Malivent Clan isn't a major player is because their Auctor is a creepy wuss who only cares about himself and actively undermines his clan's progress to maintain the status quo and cover his body-hopping shenanigans.I thinks that's a part of the charm of playing as a Malivent, turning a weak and corrupt organisation into a powerful one, appeals to my nation-builder/resource-management sensibilities.
>>94805052>*Deletes you with Elemancy,*ok? this isn't a powerwanking discussion. I'm just telling anon the potential of sound magic.
>>94804659It's a two-headed eagle with six wings. In the CYOA it is stylised - you can see it in the intro opposite the eclipse as a star constellation (and in the final mission). The full version currently looks something like this.

>>94803158>the lack of answers is part of the charmThe answers exist, though. And its hard to get emotionally invested in a setting where most of the options explicitly involve mysteries . . .where part of the reward is an answer. For example, Stageplay posted that the monster in the snow (the one that all the patrons want dead) is there for the player to "test certain theories". Which theories? What are the results? The reward for this challenge is purely an answer (partial or otherwise) to the greater mysteries of the setting. But since there's currently no way for us to actually get that answer . . .why bother picking it?I really want to like Are You Still in Pain . . .but it feels like we only got the first third of the cyoa, and that there are supposed to be additional rounds of picks later. Or a lore page, or mystery boxes . . .
>>94805681Also, apparently you don't have to pick a patron (according to the author) . . .but that's not mentioned here, nor what the consequences are
>>94805681Lady Telling' secret thing suggests that the player is stuck in a time loop right?

>>94805700
>>94805681>>94805694Use ellipsis properly, otherwise your posts look like they're written by a 12 year old:…
>>94805681author was too smart for you
>>94805708
>>94805681My headcannon is that The Curse by nxtb is the prequel of this cyoa, the player is the sole survivor of the cursed town and came to the city becoming depressed and homeless.
>>94805699The author has confirmed that *(you) are in a time loop*that the roommates do have ties to the patrons *Alana (the spooky narrator at the end) does have a secret that might be bad for (you), if (you) hang out with her. However, the author also said that one of our theories about what is going on is flat out wrong (but didn't say which one).
>>94805763
>>94805763>Rim MeisterIs this cyoa about being a Master of Rimming? if yes then /trash/ would be better for that sort of thing.
>>94805816It's a spinoff of Thrallherd's Conduit. The world of the Rim is for would-be emperors and fans of god-games. It's full of elf-like beings who will happily flock to the banner of any outsider, crowning that person god-king and adopting any sort of economy/society/government they want. They can't hold on to it by themselves, though, so when they lose their master, it all collapses. At least until the next Conduit visits, and the cycle repeats.
>>94805763>*(you) are in a time loopMost likely to be right. Supported by the fact (You) are in your prime but slightly older, you've died in Lady Telling's hideout and the Lord of the Beast offers you the mean to return home.
>>94803258>>94803273That's what I did but not with much confidence. The expected followup is "what do you read?" or "oh yeah really? What do you write?"They didn't ask that thankfully
Found this on Image chest and remembered I enjoy cyoa that let you choose from multiple forms of immortality. I'm curious what other anons would pick and why.Obviously not all options are created equal. I'd never pick the AI one in a million years given how it's pretty much a solipsist nightmare. The Mind one is pretty sketchy too, not my thing.Godhood is obviously a strong contender, but would it be worth locking yourself away from the 'real' world. At least you can invite other people in and they can presumably be immortal too if you let them. But would you want to be completely responsible for a bunch of people liek that?
>>94806005Infinite Designer is as close as I can get to true godhood, so that.

>>94806143Was it really?
>>94806143Kino and memes
>>94805763>>94805681In my opinion, the problem is that the cyoa is built like the pre-beginning of a video game.It sets you up with questions, gives you hints and goals... and then leaves you with blue balls because there's nothing afterwards to give you answers.I won't judge people who enjoy that sort of thing, but in my case the CYOA just lacks satisfaction, especially since it's otherwise so good
>>94806565IMO omitting answers to mysteries is fine by itself, but that one was definitely too tight-lipped with the clues.
>>94806547It dominated the general for an entire month. Even now it's still popular even with people wanking clans like Ford.It has the perfect mix of lore + power autism + companions from allies to waifus and enemies. Then you have it fulfilling the niche of urban fantasy for mages with its own original world to explore than just being something like another Fate CYOA with Servants. The general was also in a dry spell when it released So it was one of the better CYOAs due to time it released in and the niche it filled in terms of genre for CYOAs. Think about it before Magi Case all the other urban fantasy CYOAs were short horror-survival content or another Fate CYOA.

All the low iq retards who laugh and call Omnimagic useless, simply lack the foresight and creativity to see the sheer potential of having access to every low-mid level spells of the 21 Magic Bloodlines. Do you know how ridiculous that is? You literally have infinite versatility and an pull an insane amount of combos. Combined it with Elemancy and you can tailor-make spells that target the weaknesses of each clan. >>94807074Meh, you're still lacking in the raw power that comes from being able to tie together two high level spells, and if you pick the right clans you can be basically as versatile anyway.

>>94807387Why is italics trying so hard? He has gotten caught samefagging before. Acting like a total seethefag right now instead of just letting it pass.
>>94807396So it actually increases the amount by 100 points if we take all the drawbacks but keeps the middle the same, and then at a lower end reduces our points if we don't take drawbacks. Weird, I guess that's ok, it makes it easier to justify taking every artifact and if you double up (which realistically, wont happen on many artifacts since a lot of them have that one completely terrible drawback you just shouldn't take) then you get more points.Weird, can you post the spear again? I think this system is fine but I want to do some math.
>>94807438? It increases nothing. Total pts are still the same.
>>94807433He's got at least one diehard fan that will defend his every action that's not him so theyre probably just doing what they do best
You could not even comply with your own deadlines. Not once but twice since you just had to say you were going to release 2 cyoas. Funny how you have yet to address that.
>>94807409Yggdrassill Clan is ass anyways. Think about it. They are the ones who push for the Equalist Society bullshit of abolishing Clans. They support gay relationships even though mages are in a populace decline and hate legal loli marriage. Also their magic is ass because while they can ANY magic from the Clans they still have to LEARN from the other Clans. We know Clans have basically free spells and knowledge that is shared for everyone. But all the mid and higher spells are reserved for people in the Upper Families or who are high ranking individuals. You can't even get knowledge to make your own Homunuculus without joining the Ostane government. And if you try to leave with that knowledge they will carpet bomb you like they did that one Ostane companion father who stole Homunculus knowledge and tried to start his own clan because he hated that a Lolibaba existed and was the leader of the entire alchemy mages.Being a Yggdrassill is basicslly playing crippled because if you are lucky, you get all the free open domain/source spells.
>>94807440Ah I see what you said now I misread. That's kind of fucked I guess. I thought the 2nd drawback gave you 30. So at a lower end its ONLY punishes you for not taking drawbacks. Eh, I guess that's ok but it just increases the fact that we have a very small amount of points and even the time to train, which most anons would not be able to get the full 50 from anyways, gives us basically nothing. Our point total is very small and while being able to avoid the drawbacks and just take them for points is a good idea in my opinion, it also just heightens the fact we don't have many points in general.
>>94807462You can take take Drac or Ostanes as a companion to obtain all knowledge. Though it would be correct to say that taking them also makes whatever you pick irrelevant.

>>94807526Damn, Italics is basically a land owner with how much free rent you're giving him in your head. A normal person wouldn't care or go on about their life. But you are special.
>>94807438You thought that 1 drawback gave you 10 and the the other 30?So 40 in total?I have to do so e math but the fear I have is that it would make it possible to almost max out an artifact with the bonus essence.
>>94807560>>94807571>Still samefagging this hard
>>94807526Why would Italics even shittalk the clan he made in the first place?
>>94807583What? It would be only a 30 point gain, so 10 more than 20. Since the first 10 points would be negated, right. I'm redoing the math on how much the artifacts cost as a whole, but if you take both drawbacks, which most anons wont do on most of the artifacts, 30 points seems fine. Give me a minute to calculate the new point totals and how this works.
>>94807618Anon do you know the meaning of a false flag attack and what they are used for?
>>94807583>>94807619Oh I noticed the new jian is also not in the imgchest. I don't know if I can do completely accurate point totals right now. Suffice to say most artifacts are in the 75-90 range of point cost so 30 points for taking BOTH drawbacks, which nobody is going to actually do on most of them and only applies to easy ones like chu then its not that much of an increase in the overall points. The main thing to factor in hus when deciding how many points you want to give people is:How many artifacts are you wanting the average person to take. As is, it seems like all of the artifacts are pushing you to take them, so they want us to take them all. The new system makes that fine, but we have barely any points, even more if we have to pay for avoiding drawbacks. The average anon is likely going to be slightly below the previous numbers in points if they take all the artifacts because they wont take two drawbacks on most of them, but they also likewise wont pay points for most of them, so they could be slightly higher or slightly lower than 100 points depending on how many drawbacks they do/don't take which is EXTREMELY low for 11 artifacts that total somewhere in the 900s to master and 500-600s to obtain. Someone taking less artifacts wouldn't feel the point strain as badly, but even with say 3 artifacts which means your potential is way, way lower than someone with all of them, 100 is only enough for one and quarter of the artifacts at best.
>>94807618He wouldn't. Italics would just lore dump.
>>94807661Ok I'll trust you anon. You will get 20 essence for each drawback. And pay 10 to attune it.
>>94807728Lore dump about why [x] clan is actually shit and trash and you shouldn't pick it. This is all his M.O and you're all falling for it.

>>94807782I have a confession to make. I've made a few anti-italics posts false-flagging because i think it's funny to pose as the guy who obsesses over italics.
>>94807782I think its scarier people will defend obvious author maliciousness and then get mad at anons calling it out.
>>94807729I don't know if you're actually hus or the shitposter that tries to imitate you but that didn't really address anything I said, but it gives more points I guess. 20 per adds to 30 which makes isi's drawbacks cost more and at 11 artifacts with two drawbacks each that increases the midrange and high range potential for people. Meaning if someone didn't take any drawbacks and paid for all of them, that's -100 points (isi is free, gotta remember that), if someone attunes to all of them once, that's +120 points, and if someone takes all drawbacks that's +340 points. That honestly seems fair to me, the average anon is going to be somewhere in the middle area likely around +90-+150 depending on preferences assuming they take every artifact, with people who take less fluctuating more. That seems fine I think in total it makes taking drawbacks more appealing in general. albiet I still thing some such as never forget, beacon of the dead, and cepure/nazya's/zoni's are way, way worse than others and will be a contributing factor to people not wanting to take theirs meanwhile ones such as chu, jian and atra have way easier drawbacks. The system you've proposed with this is better than the previous one, it still doesn't give you enough to get everything (even if you take every drawback that's only like 40ish percent), and since points gained from drawbacks are contained per artifact you still have to make decisions on what you want to spend them on. It's just about making the drawbacks feel balanced.
This is a small thematic thing and i’m probably the only one who is bothered by it but i’ll ask anyway. The cyoa pushes you to master artifacts you don’t want to keep out so you can use their powers without them… but thematically you would want to master the powers of your favorite…. however that’s a waste of points because you’ll keep your favorite out (and have access to powers without mastery). So the cyoa wants you to master artifacts you don’t like as much (and wouldn’t have out) so you can use their powers. Isn’t this counterintuitive?
>>94807835No I agree its weird but I assumed it was intended. Realistically people are only going to buy the lower levels for whatever their favorite weapon is and then master the rest, you're right. But also most anons will probably just buy mastery in general since the lower rank non-mastered ends up with you have strange point totals. So since mastery is in sections of 5, if you spend a small amount of points unlocking an ability but not mastering it, you WILL end up with an awkward point total unless you get it to 15, meaning all non-mastered ability sections must add up to multiples of 15 or else you have leftover points.
Of all the magic school cyoas, I always keep coming back to this one.

>>94807914Dark Softie...
>>94807963You do lose your original magics nowadays, but it's still good.
>>94807988You could probably do a ton of hybrid Magics with those since they are what most Clans spun off from originally anyway. A pure hybrid between the two is hard to pin because of the sheer breadth both offer but maybe something like Creation magic where it works like Evoco but replacing mass recognition with personal skill to create entities ex nihilo. An evolution of Elementals and Homunculus into its own branch.

What is more retarded, this one or Indian Ravager?
>>94802946has magi case got that overhaul that was teased last year?
>>94808160Well in general around 3 or 4 sound like a good average of what I expect. But in general I want it to be up to the players to decide how many they want.
>>94808272Curry Ravager because of his impact.
>>94808295Hmmm, the cyoa makes it out like we're expected to take all of them since we're given each of them and they all call us their chosen one in different ways. I don't know how you could fix this then, The idea of limiting the amount you can attune to doesn't seem as appealing now that we know what they all are, I want at least 5, so limiting to 3 or 4 would suck. I don't know how you would encourage people to stick to a lower amount and not take all of them as is, especially if you can just pay 10 points for them instead of taking their drawbacks.
>>94808316That's where the limited amount of points comes in.It is what really limits you.You do have options to go over it but they require taking drawbacks.
>>94808304You are Indian.
>>94808388I'm Anonymous.
>>94808405Saar...
>>94808408Your /v/ ways won't trick me, demon.
>>94808374The limited amount of points doesn't really discourage you in this scenario. Before what discouraged you was that you could fuck yourself with some horrific mandatory drawback from an artifact you didn't like such as cepure or the spear, now you can pay 10 points, which hurts you a little, but you can still take them. So if you can't like with the drawbacks of say, 3 artifacts yes that's -30 points total, but you have 70 points for everything leftover, and some artifacts can cover themselves completely depending on how much you want, since if you only want one ability on chu, you can easily take both her drawbacks and take the entire line or something. Aside from that, taking all the artifacts isn't just a matter of needing to pay points for them. If you think long game, yes the aliens will invade likely before you can get any meaningful abilities on them, but assuming you aren't retarded you can still just focus on the artifacts you actually cared about while having the one you didn't on the backburner for later. In essence, you can pay 10 points now for an artifact you wont need right now but gives you complete room for massive growth later. Since the only incentive to not take all the artifacts now is simply a matter of "well you wont have slightly as many points" That's not really deterring enough and ends up penalizing you in the long run.
>>94808420"and ends up penalizing you in the long run if you don't spend the small amount now." Is what that last sentence was supposed to say.
>>94807914Agreed. I think it actually benefits from not having stat autism; leaves more to the imagination. I think the lack of detail spelled out also prevents Anons from strengthwanking about what the "strongest" or "correct" builds are.Actually, regarding stat autism, I was thinking earlier about Hayao Miyazaki's lament about modern anime; that it's now based on other anime rather than life. Something that would look like a plague, but isn't actually.Another criticism I have of Are You Still in Pain is how obsessed (you) are with the white haired girl's death . . .but without explaining why. I mean, sure, it gives the cyoa a "Twin Peaks" vibe (the show revolved around the investigation into a bizarre death), but not every random person would be that focused on a single death. So why does the white haired girl's death matter so much to (you)?I mean, if it was Tess's death, yeah, that would make sense. Or the girl who offered you the whiskey at the beginning of the cyoa. That would make it very relevant to every player. But there's no evidence that (you) ever met the white haired girl, let alone had enough of a connnection to send (you) on an rampage after her killer.
>>94809067I'm thinking the real rub is everyone is trying to obtain something from/of the WHG but not everyone for the same thing. More importantly, everyone is trying to understand the rules and sees a different side of a die.Somehow you're the key.
>>94809067>If the white haired girl is the god of the settingGoing back to how the Devourer identify characters ("Mother..?"/"Not Mother."), she was probably a lesser version of something else, something that would create a species entirely focused on eating. The plague is just a more insidious evolution of that concept. You can't trust something like that. The death of WHG was the trigger of the plague, but letting her live was probably an even worse case scenario, given the parallels everywhere with death, snow and ruination.
You know, I've found presentation matters a LOT when it comes to necromancy. There are some cyoas and settings where I think you'd be stupid.to turn down being a necromancer . . .and others where necromancy just leaves me cold. I'm not sure what the difference is, though. Really like it in SDA's Battlemage, but not in Micha's Isekai Bounty Hunter, even though the powers are very similar. What about you guys (and gals)?

Think Xenogears 1.The MIB are researching the WHG or at least her rammifications. The Faceless (other (you)s?) are trying to escapeThe Lady is, I think, attempting to ascend or at least parley with [something]Devourer is, uh, devouring.Lord Forest wants you gone.Alana, Alana is watching *(you)*

>>94809120Both are ok but necromancy seems to be more interesting in isekai bounty hunter instead of battlemage, so I disagree on it. Though I do understand what you mean, it's not so much presentation as what the setting indicates you are capable of, which is why I think battlemage loses to isekai bounty hunter. I think I somewhat understand it though, in battlemage you're basically given free reign as long as its on the enemies, you can do fucking whatever you want to them. Whereas in isekai bounty hunter, you're basically just tolerated because of the dude you work for, however isekai bounty hunter probably has a way higher ceiling than battlemage, which is why I like it better. Battlemage feels restrictive due to it being a spell picker.
>>94809294Thank you. I'm actually quite curious on other people's takes, as I get stuck on Are You Still in Pain. There are things I'm interested in - the mystery temple to the moon and the murder of the white haired girl clones, for example. And stuff I'd probably blunder into, such as helping Tulip/Vee and maybe the angel.I'm not sure if that would lead me into the main plot arc or not, though. I'm not even sure what the main plot is - there's magic and monsters, a deadly plague, government cyborgs... So I appreciate hearing other people's insight into the cyoa.
>>94809199You must go to the hidden temple and obliterate whatever's in it. Doubly so if it breathes.Something people tends to overlook about the patrons is that the WHG is an option. It's written like their own descriptions, complete with the suspicious elipsis limited to patrons and the final painting. That implies she would have goals you need to partake in and comments about the missions to influence you towards her aims. It also means lies by omission. >Owl - Usurp & corrupt from borrowed power.>Lady Telling - Tries to delay the problem while hiding what's going on.>Von Sterling - Average 'Humanity control God' schitck. Doesn't understand how dangerous the endeavor is.>Devourer - Eating from the Outside (Consume)>Lord Forest - Uncaring. Stasis. If you look at those goals you can guess the remaining option.>White Haired Girl - Eating from the Inside (Plague)Still following the patrons' behaviors, they tend to have one mission that they encourage you to take, with the others being confused. They're all confused for the hidden temple mission, which means it's one of the cases where WHG is the one in the know.As for the murder, I presume Lady Telling did it and seal the knowledge in her estate alongside the weapon, but frankly the culprit is a red herring. It's the reason why that matters.
Is this hell or paradise?>>94809354>>94809354>>94809354
>>94809344>me when i read : fun drinks and adventure>anon when he read : we have to kill god bro
>>94809344Hmm. That's an interesting approach. Wouldn't Tess's answer (to being asked about the WHG's death) be a problem to that formulation, though? She's the only person to do (you) a kindness without asking a favor in return, and she wants to kick the teeth in of the murderer....What if the WHG and Alana are two halves of a whole? Alana's got raven black hair and her own ties to all the characters. What if one of them was Life, and the other Death, and the murder of the WHG left Alana's power to run amuck, now that there's nothing to balance it out?
>>94809344>As for the murder, I presume Lady Telling did it and seal the knowledge in her estateLady Telling's name seems it might not be a name, but rather a job. After all, she is the Lady Telling (Secrets) in exchange for (your) help. That implies to me there might be Gentleman Gathering (Secrets). Which I suppose could be Von Sterling - or not.
>>94809495>Wouldn't Tess's answer (to being asked about the WHG's death) be a problem to that formulation, though? Not really. WHG was liked by virtually everyone and described has "holding hope for a greater meaning", but she has too many red flags to be the Greater Good of the setting. It's probably the type of benevolent character that's utterly convinced the plague/change is a good thing and you should welcome it.>...What if the WHG and Alana are two halves of a whole? They're probably connected in a sense, the timing fits, but I don't think Alana is the other half, mostly because her ties with everyone implies she existed at the same time as WHG for a while.>>94809512Probably. She's also the one that acts the most like your handler.
>>94809542Since there may be a time loop involved, what do you think of the possibility that the player is the one who killed/will kill the WHG?
>>94809629Very possible! I think that was one of my earliest theories, based on Devourer's comments. We could assume the "dead goddess" was a more advanced version of the WHG (eerily similar but not the same). Ike haven't left her side since a thousand years and Devourer hasn't seen anyone in a thousand year ; pretty sure that's when she died, thus never came back in the north.Someone "like you" came by exactly at that period. Given the time loops, it might very be literal.
>>94809542Not gonna lie, I'm half convinced Sterling's inquries are the reason for the plague - they've been trying to resurrect her as opposed to retribution
>>94810758Since we won't ever have the final word on it, that's a valid interpretation.
>>94809629>>94809685That seems awfully dark. Not gonna say you're wrong, since something has clearly screwed this world up badly. On my end, I find myself suspicious of the Lord of the Forest. His little speech about what he doesn't care rules out almost every healthy motivation. To rephrase it, he says he doesn't care about society, material gain, gaining nourishment, solving problems, self-improvement, etc.Unless he's extremely jaded, the only beings that don't care about any at least one of those are viruses. Even the least sophisticated animals care about having a full belly. A virus, on the other hand? That would fit with the Owl's statement that the tribe- which seems to serve the Lord of the Forest - is helping summon darker things into the woods. And Lady Telling's statement that they might have a way to slow the plague (human sacrifice?) Would also explain why the Lord of the Forest is willing to send (you) back to Earth. It removes a threat to the plague spreading unchecked.
>>94813091It basically depends on how you view the Lord of Beasts and his (a)morality. First time I see a straight, more hopeful reading of the setting. Very refreshing.
On the subject of Demon Conquest has anyone received an answer about Conquests?Do we choose Conquest from the Campaigns or can we select Conquests from Realms that are not Campaigns?
