Boros is aids
>>94804222>getting pressed by one of the weaker and most vanilla color combinations around
>>94804195What are anons opinions on /predh/?
https://moxfield.com/decks/oDMCkoIEEU2ALDl1yX0P2gwana run intagible anus, but i am not sure what white card to cut...boros is hard bro's
>>94804238Commanders and decks feel a lot more open-ended, for better or worse. Pre-Commander (or really just older cards in general, not directly a Commander thing) designs were mostly cards designed to be standalones with limited amounts of direct synergy, so decks more frequently (not always) end up feeling like similar goodstuff piles that only diverge at their payoff. Does not help closed format = solved format.
>>94804195>TQDealing 40 damage to face on turn 3 because I always open double Mox, Lotus Petal, soi ring, mana vault, land, then proceed to topdeck everything I need.
>friend knows i like enchantments>buys me the SL with Estrid/Tuvasa ini kinda find voltron a bit boring and have no idea how to build estrid. I get that you want to enchant your lands, then +2 her to untap them for big mana but likedo you just play it as a hard control deck so people cant attack into your planeswalker for free or should you be playing dorks and enchanting them so they can block, or rely on pillowfort or what
>tq Tearing it apart and turning it into a jund deck and an abzan deck
>>94804195>>TQ:>What do you enjoy the most about playing a Boros deck?I have 3 decks and my Otharri deck is the most aggro by far. I love getting extra value off my rebels with warleaders call and terror of the peaks, getting double kills is so satisfying.>>94804388>friend knows i like enchantments>buys me the SL with Estrid/Tuvasa inThat was nice of him anon :) but yeah that is puzzling, Estrid doesn't seem to have a super clear win con on her own. Tbf there's so many great enchantment cards rn goodstuff bant pile with big mana off of enchanted lands to cast big bombs like the overlords and virtues would probably work good. Plus don't forget there's all the role cards now for your creatures
Is this little shit going to get banned in the other formats any time soon? Would like one but I'm not going to drop $30 on it if it's about to drop>t. other format ignorer
>>94804623No why would it you retarded edhonly
>>94804471>he did the thing where you see an extremely powerful commander and ignore all the text but tribalClassic anonymous.>>94804623Lolno. Not only will it not be banned, it's an essential form of interaction for a lot of decks.

>>94804656My cards that I bought before christmas are lost in the mail. I'm not really motivated to be honest with you anon.
>>94804653Are you retarded? The rebels are made when the commander attacks and he's saying he likes impact tremor-esque cards to get additional value of them, not just free tokens.>he did that thing where he acted retarded and intentionally misread a post because he wanted to tear someone else down
>>94804681Remains to be seen. Pretty defensive there anon, relax. I didnt even say anything personally insulting.
Do any anons have a Magar deck? I keep wanting to build him but I'm concerned that he's going to be too high power
>>94804671God bless Canada Post.
>>94804691Nailed it. They called me to say it's lost, but they have till the 29th to find it before I can get a refund. I ordered them with the intention of having them before a tournament on the 6th. It's unlikely I'll get them before the next tournament in feb. I had such spicy new tech to show these fucks, borne upon a wind is absurdly powerful, and I was testing null rod in urza to much success.
>>94804195>TQthe big buff angels
>>94804305regular EDH is already a solved format, but the community enforces a segregation between the people willing to use the solution and those who don't
>>94804721Could be worse. I work remotely as a contractor for a company in New Mexico, and they pay all my invoices by check. Something like $16,000 USD being held hostage by this debacle.
>>94804687You would have to be talking about me in order for it to be defensive. I'm simply calling out a dishonest poster>no rude hehePeople can read between the lines and see your statement was very clearly intended to be derisive anon you aren't fooling anyone>remains to be seenNo its quite literally explicitly stated >warleaders call>terror of the peaksHes quite clearly focusing on the ETB aspect and not the tribal aspect
>>94804691>>94804721Sucks to suck negros aha. I ordered from F2F on the 26th and Fusiongaming on the 26th as well and received both my orders on the 3rd and 6th
>>94804721Giving things that shouldn't have flash flash seems interesting. I'm trying to slot this into a deck to see how it performs.
>>94804748Jesus wept. At least the cheque is probably insured and you could always get the money wired to you, I hope. None the less, I'll pray for you.>>94804762Yeah yeah rub it in. What did you order?>>94804773Savage summoning isnt great. Borne is top notch because it's an expensive cantrip at worst, and it gives everything flash until the end of turn, so you can always use sorcery speed removal or. Savage summoning is just quicken with cant be countered and +1/+1 text instead of drawing a card. You can always use cavern of souls to make your creatures uncounterable in a pinch.
>>94804656Wanted to play hatebears for a while, wanted a low to the ground, aggressive deck for a while and wanted a Naya deck that didn't play with tokens or +1/+1 counters for a while. Still waiting for a few cards for the desired list to arrive but I got my first couple of games in with this deck last night and it did the thing in the first game, and was archenemy from turn 2 in the second game and took out all other players.
>>94804800All the cards I needed for my Gollum, Lobelia, Calamity and Gargos decks I've posted the lists a few times before
>>94804826Neat, well I'm jealous but happy for you none the less.
>>94804471i was thinking i'd go for a win based around Enchanted Evening since the Seb version is my favourite magic art ever. So maybe the calming verse combo to wipe the entire board. Was thinking like obviously land enchants so my lands tap for more mana, then play sort of like an instant speed gameplan like a flash deck? Counters/Removal and then flash stuff in. I'm just not sure how i get a board state where estrid doesnt just immediately eat shit
Well well, would you look at that. It turns out Generous Gift does see play in cedh. Tournament winning cedh decks even.
>>94804903
>>94804903This deck has one entry and it did not win. Generous gift is not a cedh card anon
>>94804910
>>94804910This isnt a cedh deck lmao>36 lands>no fast mana hardly any rocks at all really
>>94804920
>>94804903Anon, hate to break it to you, but that deck was in the 9-16th bracket, and literally any tournament can be posted on that website, regardless of quality. At a glance there's something funky going on with the commanders in that tournament, and it doesnt appear to be indicative of the meta as a whole.
>>94804926>Noooo that doesn't count because I said soCope
>ghyrson Starn is $20 nowJesus Christ, why?
>>94804936It doesnt count because its visibly not a cedh deck. The only one that counts is the Sisay list and I guarantee you Sisay isn't winning because of gift lmao she's winning cause she's the strongest cedh deck
>>94804910>>94804921>>94804903These are not cedh decks and a major reason I dont trust that website.>>94804927This one is, but from a small tournament in august.

>>94805077Based. Punish all pain land enjoyers
>>94804742>EDH is a solved formatThe fact that new cards enter the ecosystem regularly contradicts that statement you stupid hipster.Take your faggot meme format and go play with the Oathbreaker losers.
>>94804939>brain dead commander>brain dead color pairing >under costed>rest of deck can be filled with budget cards that lets it punch way above its weight>40kshit>will have no reprints or universes within for at least 5 years if everThe surprising thing is that the price is so low.
>>94805077>>94805130>NeW tReAd QuEsTiOn!!!!!Thoughts on Pauper EDH and will we ever see LGS adoption of this format or will it make them go bankrupt?
>>94805053No. The online discourse about cedh is extremely low because the vast majority of people who post about it do not know what they're talking about due to inbred metas and poor available resources online. Your only hope is trusting people who actually play, but discerning that can be very difficult. People might play generous gift, I personally wouldnt for the same reasons I dont play rapid hybridization, ravenform and pongify in my deck, but your milage my vary. Even swan song is tenuous.
>>94805053Its more the strongest deck can get away with running Generous Gift anon :) you could throw a Kaerveks Spite in a Sisay list and it will still win. Anon you had to go back 5 months to find a single win in a small tournament on the best card in the format which I would put my life savings wasnt even cast. Now be intellectually honest and look at the vast majority of winners that include white and lets see how often it pops up
Generous Gift is a good card.
>>94804742>edh is a solved formatLolno. Step up your game senpai.
>>94805200Unless you are in a meta where you regularly need to be blowing up lands then nah, it's been power crept
>>94805147I built this as pauper and no one likes playing against it.
>>94805200Sure. If you're on a budget, in a mid powered meta, and are playing a colour that doesnt have access to better tools.
>>94805200It's a good card unless you're playing in a <4 turn meta. So for 99% of games you'll find int he wild it's good.
>>94805147I think we should have....TIERSPauper is tiers but without actually considering what should be in which tier
>>94804742Agree to disagree there.
>>94805181>The online discourse about cedh is extremely low becausecedh retards are fucking retarded, trying to force the one non-competitive friendly format in a game with a dozen sweaty hyper competitive formats to be another sweaty competitive format because they're too stupid to go play those other formats. If you're a cedhtard your opinion about anything in commander is irrelevant because you are fundamentally the dumbest person in the room and you don't get what's going on.
>>94805147Pauper edh is bad m'kay? Regular pauper is much better.

>>94805309I love Excise, such a good card. This is also very good.
>>94805258>trying to force the one non-competitive friendly format in a game with a dozen sweaty hyper competitive formats to be another sweaty competitive format because they're too stupid to go play those other formatsIt's not that they're too stupid, it's one or both of two things:1. They can't make it in those competitive formats so they resort to preying on casuals to get their rocks off.2. They have literally nothing else going on in their lives, no achievements, no real career prospects (even if they are employed) and very little social life. Being "good" at a card game is all they have. It's much the same with speedrunners. They are not happy well-adjusted people. They're miserable and obsessive.
Why don't more people run this in Commander?99.9% of Commander decks run boots and this makes them useless for B

>>94805338I literally do run it in my Eriette deck and while it's not really a DEAD card you'd be surprised how often it whiffs just because shit is moving around on the board. >they re-equip>someone else destroyed the threat before you even got a chance to play this>just didn't have it in hand when it would have been most useful>they make it indestructibleMy Eriette deck survives by absolutely crippling my opponents strategies, so I run shit like this just in case, but it's not an auto-include in literally anything else

>>94805362>Board wipes are for shitty players 90% of the timeOhohohoho
>>94805338Cause its too slow and too specific
>>94805356That is fair.I was looking for artifact destruction in a mono black deck and this ended up being the only thing i could find.I know it doesn't destroy the artifact itself but making it useless or forcing someone to remove it felt like an acceptable alternative.
>>94805325Nope. Dont be silly, people can like different things.
>>94805362>wipes are for shitty players 90% of the timeHow to tell someone you're ass at the game, without explicitly saying you're ass at the game...Though, to anyone good at it, saying this IS explicitly saying you're bad at the game.

Because that's just fucking boring. This is a singleton format, I want to see some variation in the cards and the way a deck plays even if the overall strategy is the same.
>>94805614Yes? This is hardly controversial. $300-$400 isnt very much money to spend on upgrades. A set of fetches and shocks for 5c is about $300 for the cheapest printings.
Underrated card? There are a few black cards that do the asymmetric -1/-1, but this one seems decent cause it gives a body too or can come in with haste and draw you a card.Im going to run this in Burakos
>>94805621I agree about tutors making infinite combo wins kind of boring.I'm kind of self-nerfing my own goblin deck because it's too easy to pull a goblin tutor to get goblin recruiter and set up an easy to see coming infinite combo but infinite nonetheless. So I'll just tutor for something fun or that interacts more with the current boardstate.

Tutors are fine because if WotC just printed more copies of my wincon I would run them instead of tutors and it would be the exact same thing. I'm paying an extra tax with the tutor because I only have one copy of my wincon. Even worse, it's less redundancy because if my wincon gets countered, I can't look for the second copy of it.People need to learn that tutors are actually terrible.
>>94808277https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=mtg+evacuation
>>94808277I mean effects similar to Evacuation that bounce everything without targeting.
>>94808305Tutors have always been fine, and have been part of magic since day one. The problem has always been what is tutored for.
>>94808305You're right, and EDH is directly responsible for the latter (WotC just printing more copies of wincons) because things are printed as legendary creatures directly for singleton formats."Generate value and be ahead on cards" isn't even considered a wincon in most formats anymore because of this.
>>94808303>Phasing and (shitty) counterspells I was afraid of that. Thanks anyway.
what's some good monowhite card draw, i'm struggling
what are your favorite cards in a flash deck?
>>94808305The problem with tutors is that they're not "just" extra copies of your wincon. They're extra copies of your wincon that transform into removal or protection if you don't want it (say, because you already have the wincon). A zoomer MtG player analogy would be that they're effectively the most overloaded MDFC in history where the front side reads "win the game" and the backside is modular Cancel, Myrel, or Utter End (this is accounting for the cost of the tutor itself). They're not "just" extra copies of your wincon. They're extra copies of the best card for the situation you happen to be in at the moment you cast them.

I actually managed to get a win off with picrel today, which is SHOCKING to me, since I play her to fuck around with fun tables, just being a sword of damocles. I don't even really have a real wincon in the deck.Any of you have any fun games recently?
>>94808365No. Because you still need to resolve both the tutor and the target. The old debate is do you counter the tutor or the target, and the short answer is it depends on the player. The long answer is a skilled opponent has planned with the tutor in mind.
>>94808383>Any of you have any fun games recently? No not really. Played with a bunch of sweats and literally just felt like I was gambling. Every time I got frustrated in a game because my commander kept getting blown up or the entire board got wiped for the 3rd time, I'd think to myself that I don't want to go home on a low-note and maybe the next game will be better. It wasn't.I massively prefer playing with casuals and new players because I just enjoy the experience of playing the game. Unfortunately attendance is so inconsistent I never get a choice.
>>94808386"You need to resolve both cards" is not a meaningful drawback. It's not like playing a tutor makes it twice as likely your opponent will have the counterspell in their hand barring a situation like Mystic Remora where your opponent literally draws cards from it, or a card like Opposition Agent which explicitly targets tutors specifically because of how powerful and prevalent they are in high-level play. In a scenario of you casting a tutor your opponent is not actually presented with two meaningfully different scenarios most of the time unless either:>The tutor places directly into play, akin to Crop Rotation or Transmute Artifact, in which case only one opportunity is actually presented>The opponent's interaction exclusively interacts with tutors, such as Aven Mindcensor, which again only presents one opportunity.

>>94808365Except very few tutors are any of those things.>They're extra copies of your wincon that transform into removal or protection if you don't want itIf you have no choice but to let the tutor resolve or the combo they're tutoring into resolve you already lost. You're assuming infinite draw, mana, and that tutors don't have additional costs or timing restrictions, and while many of those things are true in current day mtg or vintage, that has nothing to do with tutors themselves. The reasons tutors are gay (merely needing to have a card in your deck rather than a realistic chance of drawing into the effect) is built into singleton and so almost completely absent from the format, where all decks are gay already. Tutors are STRONG in edh specificaly because decks are gay in this way (a (very) limited number of copies of certain effects exist in mtg) but that isn't a PROBLEM with tutors, because the consequence (you just run 1x of a certain effect because you can tutor for it anyway) is baked into the format.

>>94808212Post art you think is better.
>>94808444You're missing the forest through the trees. You need both the tutor and the target to resolve; either being messed with ends your sequence. That also increases the mana you need to execute your wincon, and the most effective way to prevent this is to interfere with the math, and that can be done in every colour without stack interaction. The tutors that put things onto the battlefield are very expensive, and the tutors that go to hand without showing the opponent are very limited. Most of the time the target is known and put on top of the library, which is a very vulnerable position for a key card, and requires either passing the turn or resolving an additional spell. The biggest problem with tutors is the counterplay requires a large amount of meta knowledge, or one of like 5 answers. It's not something a new player can pick up immediately, it requires a large amount of practice, and to run cards that are dead draws against opponents of equal skill.

>>94808461There's many cards that are not viewed as problematic that will never have "extra copies" printed. Swords to Plowshares is a card nobody (myself included) would view as a problem card but it's sure fucking better than Unwanted Remake and Path to Exile. More than that, tutors frequently end up as a colossal deckbuilding crutch that makes people run way larger ramp packages than they should, because their tutors are finding everything else they need. Tutors largely invalidate both the need for redundancy AND deck penetration because they're cards that transform into the best one possible.
>>94808507how are you copying it twice?
>>94808508In a tournament, you're right, but this is how I feel about the spirit of the format. He has the answer in hand and timing to use it correctly. Stifling the trigger at the time isnt cheating and the optimal decision, especially if he did proper combat math. How I play is if the game is about to be won, unless it's a tournament, we table talk about the answers everyone has because we're friends and want to improve our skills. But that being said, if he should know better and is fucking up repeatedly, eventually he has to learn and take the loss. I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt once. >>94808460>Robot type in a UW setI'm a little mad
>>94808512I dont think you understand tutors. If there were fewer tutors, people would be more all in with cards like ad naus, the one ring, and necropotence to win the game; it would make very little difference in the meta. Tutors allow versatility with obvious drawbacks. Not only that, punishing decks that rely on tutors is a perfectly viable axis to win the game. They have a cost for that transformation, and if you dont like it, punish them for it.
>>94808460Of all the sets of magic I've not been excited for i am the most not excited for this trash
>>94808493You're discussing exclusively "tutor for wincon" scenarios, but that's not all of what makes a tutor good. If you have the wincon, the tutor begins transforming into protection for it. People generally aren't retarded when deckbuilding so their wincon will usually be the best one available given constraints (I'm not saying that's always going to be Thoracle/Consultation, but Timmies do love their Craterhoofs). Consequently, now instead of being another 8-mana bomb, the tutor became a low-committment, 2-mana protection effect like Grand Abolisher that ALSO demands removal. In casual games, tutors also wholly replace the need for prevalent engine access, and effective removal, because... you can tutor for them. Pretty much every color except red to my knowledge has multiple tutors broad enough they can fill these roles at very modest mana costs, which circles into the atrocious deckbuilding habit EDH players have of running ramp packages that are way too large because their hand is being fixed too easily.
>>94808561"Punishing decks that rely on tutors" involves running a handful of cards that are completely dead draws without advanced knowledge you will be facing them. While this is a given in cEDH, that line isn't nearly as clear in casual games, especially with randoms. The tutor itself is an extremely broad tool but the ones that directly answer them are narrow.
>>94808512Everything you have described is a reason tutors are gay in constructed, and nothing you have said applies meaningfully to singleton, where the effects that you are tutoring for are run in as many copies as have ever been printed in the lifetime of the game.>There's many cards that are not viewed as problematic that will never have "extra copies" printed. Swords to Plowshares is a card nobody (myself included) would view as a problem card but it's sure fucking better than Unwanted Remake and Path to Exile. You would not ever tutor for it though because there is no tutor that doesn't make it a worse value proposition than just running whatever you wanted instead of it.>There's many cards that are not viewed as problematic that will never have "extra copies" printedThose aren't relevant to the conversation, because tutors only matter in that a card can be so problematic that even tutoring for it it's still worth playing.>>94808571>If you have the wincon, the tutor begins transforming into protection for it.That quite literally is the same as tutoring for wincon, since you'd just play the next wincon after the first gets countered, and there would actually be less space for interaction because you're resolving three cards instead of two.
>>94808581That's how running hate works, yes. This isn't unique to tutors.
>tfw you take out ogre slumlord for something decent like deadly dispute
I can't stop building tribal decks
>>94808627I can only build aristocrats
>that guy with Rhystic, rift, and 3 free counter spells in his deck as well as all the expansive rocks in his "casual" deck
>>94808603>You need to resolve three cards instead of twoThis is not relevant because in both scenarios your opponent needs to have two points of interaction.Scenario A:>Play Wincon 1>Counter needed>Play Wincon 2>Counter needed>2 points of interaction neededScenario B:>Play tutor>Counter possible>Play Wincon 1>Counter needed>Play Wincon 2 only if tutor resolved>Counter needed>2 points of interaction needed
>>94808634tfw you show up with a list like this
>>94808603Your claim that the value proposition on tutors is extremely bad isn't very strong when you begin to consider what that implies for the value proposition of card draw.>Pay 3 mana get the card you want the mostor>Pay 3 mana get 2 random cards
Why do people run anything other than izzet colors?> white has board wipes> noooo you cant cyclonic rift my board, *runs to /edhg/ to mald about rift*> green has ramp> noooo you can't just drop a bunch of 0 cost rocks on the board!!> black has to hurt itself to draw cards...I am niv mizzet, wrecker of casuals, miner of salt. Bow, inferior colors!!
>>94808666>Assemble an engine out of 5 parts that lets you draw 10 cards per turn so you can grind through your deck to find your win convs>Play 1 spell to find your win con
>>94808673Yes that's literally why tutors are extremely powerful.
>>94808667Amen brother.
>>94808581Yes, I said that? Dont be greedy if it's a problem.>>94808571Engines are bad, what can I say? I firmly believe this and have for many years. Drawing cards with absolute certainty is much more powerful than hypothetically drawing many cards if the stars align. Edh players arent bad deck builders because of tutors, they're bad deck builders because edh plays like no other format, and constrains their entire deck around a single creature. Ironically, if you dont do this, you'll never achieve full power, but it's the ultimate new player trap because it pays off against weaker competition. None the less, this has nothing to do with tutors and playing multiple spells that demand answers is good deck building and a key reason I win as often as I do.
>>94808666the good (expensive) tutors only cost 1 mana and are sometimes even instant speed
>>94808698My focus was on lower-power tutors since saying "tutor good in cEDH" would not even be worth mentioning. Like yeah no shit Vampiric Tutor mogs the fuck out of Opt but this goes rather far up the tree where even "bad" tutors like Diabolic Intent mog common low-power cards like Harmonize.
>>94808634Nipple.
>>94808716Depends. If you're tutoring a key card, maybe. If you need gas, nope.
>>94808694Without tutors, it's much harder to consistently demand an answer from your opponents, since every tutor is effectively a card that reads "Yes I did have it". I think we're actually kinda on the same page here where tutors aren't exactly impossible to answer, but they are extremely powerful in a way that isn't always fully grasped. Decks without tutors will generally experience a lot of difficulty facing decks with them unless there's a colossal imbalance in the rest of their structure.
>100 card format>barely get through 20 of them before game endsWhat's the point? Why isn't commander a 60 card format?
>>94808727The tutor becomes the gas if that's what you need the most. Yeah it would have been nice to just draw the gas, but the gas doesn't always turn itself into something immediately playable while the tutor almost always does.
>>94808741I'd say so, it's nice to talk to a reasonable anon. I play monoblue in cedh and I always am at a disadvantage because I dont have black tutors, but I compensate for that by playing stax, and having a slightly higher curve. You can easily demand answers if your deck is tuned to the meta and you have a high enough density of threatening cards. Like if an opponent is counting back to basics over my wincon, I'm coming out ahead by design. But this style relies on a strong understanding of tempo, and not every player has that, especially newer ones.
>>94808747Casual format, where a big deck with only singletons makes it hard for get your big wincons out, and with 4 people more about just relaxing and chilling. At least, that's my understanding.
>>94808748But a tutor for the gas is bad tempo when you could play the gas instead of the tutor. Like tutoring a cantrip is a big feelsbad, but cantripping usually feels great.
>>94808747Is this a real question? Not even trying to be rude, i'm just surprised someone doesn't get it. It's variance. EDH is supposed to be a casual format with high-variance decks, that's why it's 100 card singleton. Your deck is going to perform different each time you play it, because each time those 20 cards you get to see are going to be different.
>>94808783this genuinely made it click in my head thank you I am new
>>94808776You kinda don't have the run the cantrip in the first place if your deck is using tutors. Obviously there's exceptions with some cards like Veil of Summer where the rest of the effect is more important than the fact it cantrips, but in general you just don't need deck-thinning for its own sake (e.g. Ponder) the moment you can start adding wildcards.
if I were to build a squirrel deck, would people get pissed?I know, bitch ass question, but my first ever deck was slivers because I loved their aesthetic and the playstyle of them all supporting each other, but pretty much every time I put them on the table, at least one player gives me the side eye and targets me down even if I'm getting land starved because I guess at one point slivers were unfairly good.I want to build another deck of small creatures that support each other and swarm, and I like the card art of a lot of the squirrels.
>>94808460All I want is some sort of changeling car that I can make a Wraith so my Nazgul can ride in style.
>>94808822forgot to mention, I first built the slivers back in 2012 after getting a core box as my first MTG purchase.
>>94808822People here on 4chan would because hating squirrel decks is a /edh/ meme. In real life, no, they wouldn't. You're just looking for a tribal deck and most of those don't really garner a lot of hate. Slivers are one of the few exceptions, because everyone knows that Slivers WILL just win if left unchecked for like 3 turns, so there's generally a ill-will towards them.
>>94808357Armistice is all you need bro
>>94808850:>8 mana to make you and your opp both draw a cardOkay. Why would you ever run that over something like that
>>94808812That's the current cedh wisdom, but I disagree. Being able to manipulate where known cards are in my library is incredibly powerful. Other than mystic sanctuary, it's the reason for fetches in my multicolour deck. Needing a specific answer and tutoring it feels less consistent than having a density of answers and simply needing to go through a chunk of cards to hit one of many options. Most cedh decks have cut cantrips entirely, but call me old fashioned, I care less about which specific answer I get, and more about the fact I have any answer at all. Same reason I prefer conditionless counterspells; sure a 1cmc counter is nice, but I'd rather an unconditional one at 2cmc that can never whiff.
>>94808863>monocoloured deckSorry for the typo, watching anime.
>>94808833Close enough
if I've played 20 games with a deck and have never drawn into a specific card, but the deck still plays fine despite that, am I justified in cutting that card for some new hotness? I feel like that meme about the two dudes mining
>>94808906if you swap it out you'll topdeck the new card for the rest of all time. it's karma or some shit
Anons, can you help me find a forever home for one of my pet cards? I don't know what kind of commander could maximize the value of this kind of self sacrifice effect
>>94808953this would be great in Jaxisgonna order one right now
>>94808974So would you make a token copy and then sac it to give something else haste, does Jaxis run any recursion?
Should I play Breya or something else like the Stranger Things partners? Think I want to lean into artifacts and graveyard recursion
>>94808460I'm fully expecting this set to be shit, but i'm happy to see Mounts back so soon. It's a good mechanic.
>>94808953Xenagos, obviously. It's where I used it.
>>94808986yeah, mostly because it's so much better to get the draw off the copy during a main phase than during your end step
>>94808863Can you post your list? You've got me interested.
>>94808493>You're missing the forest through the trees.Allow me to play doubles advocate for a moment
>>94808882I was hoping for something a little less, whatever that looks like. But the effect is actually perfect so I couldn't ask for more. Looks like the boys will be car pooling to the shire after all.
>goldfishing deck>take a 15 minute turn comboing off to draw 50 cards, cheat out enter the infinite, and win with JaceGranted it happened turn 8 and would fold to most interaction, but I'm liking where this is going. Putting this on the list of things I want to pull off with it in an actual game.
>>94809030>JaceYou didn't win the game.
>>94809021Dont look at his gut, bubs!>>94809010Sure. I was waiting for my null rod, cursed totem, and borne upon a wind to arrive before I posted a new pic of my deck, but since they're lost in transit I'll post a pic tomorrow afternoon when I get a second to lay out my cardboard. It's an urza deck and I've won many cedh tournaments with it. Even when I dont win, it takes a full table and some luck to stop me most times, especially if you havent seen the deck before, but I've been playing it quite a while so your mileage may vary. I do a few things against current cedh wisdom, like I said.
>>94809039Don't worry Timmy, one day I'll win with commander damage instead.
>>94808953Anon literally ANY deck that cares about it's commander or other key cards turning sideways ASAP. I have this in all 3 of my decks that have red. Might seem obvious but you can split that 2 into two creatures for two hasty boys
>>94809064>commander damageOne of my friends who is actually good at the game keeps insisting commander damage is only to prevent games from being prolonged. Or that that was the point. But really inn what world is commander damage going to kill anyone ever except voltron decks
>>94809153It's largely a relic from back when creatures sucked total donkey dick so cards like Beacon of Immortality were a real risk of making the game last forever. However that being said I don't see it getting removed any time soon since it's one of those "remember your roots" rules referencing the old 7/7 elder dragons that gave birth to the format.
>>94809153It's been pretty instrumental in dealing with the dude who is popping off with ridiculous lifegain.
>>94808460>Cycle of vanilla legendary creaturesHello? Based department?
>>94809153Calm down, Ben. Commander Damage can't hurt you.
>>94804742the fact that this isnt an auto-include in every comp deck begs to differ. sweaties would rather cry about thoracle combos tho
>>94809400I cant see myself ever paying 3 mana for that effect. Even in my wheel deck that totally benefits from that effect a lot, I just dont see it. Id rather have the right mana. Its ok but probably mountain is same ev
>>94809416for the price of three (3) mana you get to permanently mindgame the thoracle combo player. with two out, the odds that he has multiple stifles in hand AND counterspells to cover oracle is infinitesimally small
Im kind of liking this cardChangeling helps my tribal a littleSeems flexible enough
>>94809431It is funny that oracle players lose if you exile one card from their deck. Why opposition agent good of course. A lit of those decks are paper thin
Reminds me Ive been meaning to run this in my wheel izzet aggro deck
>>94809482Whoops forgot pic
Did the price of mana vault decline? I remember it being 100$
>>94809498Maybe Im thinking of crypt. Either way now that I see its not 100$ Im tempted to get one for my big wheel aggro. Bounce it withhttps://scryfall.com/card/blb/68/season-of-weaving
>>94804623When are these going to get reprinted?
>>94807229>limited timeYeah, of course they had to make this difficult. I just hope this can lower the price on some of the more expensive ones. May be able to make it to one of these since there's a regular store I visit with friends but that it's random does annoy.
>>94809487Its legitimately a really underrated card, i'd honestly run it in any deck that makes a bunch of creature tokens and happens to be blue. You get to tap a possible attacker, tap blockers, tap the two lands the other player left open to counterspell, it's great.
>>94807930A colorless vehicle that is Unruly Mob. Man I wish. Even if it didn't get those in the grave. My Ghave would love that. Anyway, that fight is cool. What movie is it from?
>>94809584The only thing I don't like about opposition is it costs 2 blue. Its easy to make red mana, blue mana is harder to make. Opposition is still probably worth running. Im all in on token generators.Being able to tap lands is low key amazing and somewhat unique. Oh, the known Teferi's Protection enjoyer has 3 open plains? Tap one.
>>94809597RRR
>>94808383I've been pleasantly surprised with Odric these last couple of months. He's quickly becoming one of my favorites. Got a recent game that I got a kick out of. I had set up my board of a bunch of small creatures and equipment with good key words. Anotehr guy was playing Magus Lucea Kane and on his turn cast a Blue Sun's Twilight with over ten so he could take anything on board. Copied twice and targeted two big creatures to take control of and make copies from the guy playing big dinosaurs Pantlaza and then tried to target and take my Odric as well. One dinosaur would have had haste so he would have been able to take the table out with it and my Odric if he had taken him. Rebuff The Wicked stopped him from taking my Odric and left him with a board of big guys with sickness and only one dinosaur that could swing in. Odric and the rest of my many soldier tokens flying over after sharing power and toughness from Porcelain Gallery really blew out him and the table when the turn came back to me. How does Ashling play out for you usually? She looked cool and was something I had considered as a mono red commander option I liked.
>>94808953I think I may consider this for Roxanne. Attacking with her is pivotal and while I've got a decent amount of haste enablers, one more couldn't hurt. Especially since it can give haste to another creature if the mana is split between them. And he helps get her out early if I some how don't draw my ramp, which isn't half bad. Probably be decent in Isshin as well.
>>94808667> noooo you cant farewell my board, *runs to /edhg/ to mald about adios*
Might be a stupid question- can I cast artifact creatures or enchantment creatures when Nikya is out?
>>94809863They're still creatures, so yes.
>>94809863>Artifact CREATURES or Enchantment CREATURESTruly a mystery for the ages!
