>>94849232Nah. It'll develop terminal cancer and be left lumpy and filled with growths for years at a time, slowly rotting, leaking flith and pus and blood. It's family will come visit from time to time to wretch at the stench and attempt to harvest the wealth hidden in its will, but the shriveled husk will perservere for years and years in a black garbage scented pile until people eventually forget it was even alive in the first place. Then the money will run out, and they'll wheel the paliative wretch into the midday sun to rot and fester without attention or care.

Don't post your casual SLOP decks here.
>>94849285You can if you want, just dont be weird and uppity about it.
>>94849291This is a NO SLOP ZONECEDH decks only.
>>94849321Post what you'd like. We might even help you improve.
Went through a friend's casual slop Sram deck and gave it some tuning.Before:https://archidekt.com/decks/10927632/copy_of_sramAfter:https://archidekt.com/decks/10926123/sramurai_jackSince he's newer I designed it to be a bit more simple to play than one of my personal decks (a notable amenity being Reliquary Tower and Thought Vessel despite both cards not being very good), but I feel it can still keep up.
I don't care about Marvel but I love Marvel vs Capcom.I just want to build a full Marvel vs Capcom deck with the Street Fighter and Marvel secret lairs, but I'm waiting for spiderman in case some other tech is in there.
Post commanders you took apart. Tell us what went wrong or why you got sick of them.
How does Amass work with Doubling Season? >Make an Army and put a +1/+1 counter on itWould this result in 2 Army tokens with 2 +1/+1 counters on them? How does Incubate work with Doubling Season? >Make a Phyrexian eggnant token and put a +1/+1 counter on it Do I get two oviposition tokens with 2 counters on each?
>>94849429I haven't done it yet, but I'm thinking about it.Trying to do a good tribal is kind of suffering, and I don't want to do just a good stuff pile with etbs/death triggers.>>94849432Amass is, if you don't have on, make one then put counters on it since then. So you would make 1 army with double whatever the counters on it would be.Incubate does not have the "if you don't have one, make one" so you would make double the tokens and double the counters.
>>94849429She was my first commander. I was a cheapass so I built a $20 deck with her because she can make draft chaff and a landbase made entirely of commons and free basics I grabbed from the LGS freebie bin work.Took her apart because the moment I got a handful of good cards, her power level skyrocketed and it just wasn't fun for anyone.I also have a proxy where she's a big tittied anime dragon girl.
>>94849429I'm getting there with his guy. My games with him are always feast or famine, so I'm probably pulling apart the deck for the lands to make a more consistent Rakdos deck.
>>94849429Love the character, hate vehicles and treasure tokens.
>>94849281When you came pullin in here did you notice a sign at the top of the thread that said Gay Bolas Storage?
Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
>>94849467Also dislike interacting with other opponents decks in general, really was a bad idea to build him despite enjoying the character.
>>94849429>Sidar JabariMostly just taken apart to fiddle with a different Esper tribe (Zombies). It was a little clunky and a little slow at times, so if I revive it I'm gonna give it some upgrades on ramp/consistency.>NekusarWhile it was fun, it never really won and often got me targeted out of the game purely for playing him rather than any particular play I made. Xyris feels a lot better with mostly the same playstyle.>Urza, Chief ArtificerI only try to run 1 deck of each color combo that I use, so this was the first one to go originally to make Knights and now to make Zombies. I've always liked Artifacts and making copies of my artifacts/combat etc so most of the pieces went to Mishra for a more aggressive deck. Not having red (for Blast Furnace Hellkite) was killin' me. Admittedly, his ability to use cheap, shitty artifact creatures as cost reduction was cool as fuck.if I end up not liking Mishra and Varina enough, I may reconstruct Urza.
>>94849446but it just replaces the effect so i should make 2 armies right? it isnt a trigger so theres no check between, i should make 2 army tokens?
>>94849504Techincally, yes, you make two armies. However, you can only choose to put the counters on one of them.So the other dies as a 0/0 while the other gets all the counters. Unless you have a lord who can buff the army up past a 0/0
Post decks
>>94849546that seems stupid and doesnt make any sense, incubate makes a token and puts counters on it, and amass makes a token and puts counters on ithow are they different?
>>94849489You have a Mishra deck too?
>>94849558How the keywords are described.
>>94849429Turns out Eminence is unfun cancer, no one could have possibly predicted this.
>>94849558Incubate makes a token. Amass puts counters on an army and makes a 0/0 army if you don't have one. Therefore, if you have an army, it won't make one. If it makes an army, it makes two, but it's the counters being doubled, not the effect of putting counters on an army.
>>94849553Neat deck anon, but your mismatched basics activate my autism.
>>94849558It has to do with the order of effects being different, incubate makes the token first whereas amass applies the counters first
>>94849583Thanks. I'm not sure the best basics that would fit this one. Any ideas?
>>94849563Yup. Mishra, Eminent One. It's probably my most "competitive" deck but I usually don't dig up my combo pieces and just try to make Karnstructs to beat people with. There's been some slight changes to the list since this pic, and I might drop Ashad for Trash for Treasure for a quicker recursion. As I was doing a playtest the other night, I noticed I got a free Demonic Tutor with Urza and had Gonti's in my graveyard but there was no way for me to revive it right then without waiting a turn.>>94849553here it is
>>94849553I like jund
>>94849409>tfw even if they made Akuma he would be black and not work with either Storm or WolverineRed would be the best hope and then they can all be in a Storm deck.
>>94849429>KarrthusMy first ever deck. I wanted to play dragons, because they're cool. It was so fucking shit, took it apart when I built my second deck.>Jor KadeenMy second ever deck. Tons of equipment as you'd expect, made a lot of tokens. Bought a wheel of fortune for $10 for it that might've been the best mtg investment I ever made.>PheldagrifI saw a list for a Zedru group hug enchantress deck that could still win. I decided I wanted to do the same thing with Pheldagrif. I played a few games with it, realized I hated the play patterns, and took it apart.

>>94849553Just need an Agate Instigator and a Clever Concealment and my main deck is basically finished.
>>94849469You know I ain't seen no shit.
>>94849553Repostan because I can. Thank you anon who recommended imposter mech; got one in the mail.
>>94849688Thank you! I really enjoy the way the deck feels, and it sorta inherited a lot of good cards from various other decks over the years.>>94849705Man this deck looks fucking awesome, I'm super jealous of your Mox Diamond and your Static Orb.
>>94849391>So thing>Draw cardSram is a sloppy commander ngl
>>94849613>PyroblastJust when I thought that card was based, now its cringe.
>>94849723White could use the card draw>>94849724Not even I could make such a good card cringe
>>94849723I wouldn't play him personally but he's very simple so it was a lot easier to build a deck he could play.My real challenge is another friend who wants to play aristocrats decks with a billion triggers yet he can't follow a stack beyond 2 spells and thinks interaction was the invention of Satan.
>>94849705>all those stax piecesFuck on toast anon, is there anything you dont have hate for?
>>94849705>doesn't use Uba Mask to fuck over anyone drawing cards excessively
>>94849740Sure, but I bet there's other mono white commanders that go with the theme he's going for. Do thing, draw card is okay in the 99, but as a commander it feels soulless.
>>94849695What the hells is this? Boros Slug?
>>94849620>Blue/red Cyber Akuma to fit in perfectly
>>94849695>The Millennium Calendar without counter doublersHave you ever actually gotten there with this? Seems like a road too steep for what looks like a balls to the walls combat aggro deck.
>>94849789consider All will be One, it only needs to put so many counters on before it's lethal.
>>94849754That's a great way to accidentally exile your wincon, and I have warset, though uba mask is a great card. You can beat people to death with karnstructs worst case ontario, but I'd rather not.>>94849746>>94849717Thanks boys. In terms of stax I'm not running, tanglewire just got cut and I had a sexy ftv foil. Smokestack is in my yawgmoth deck with mesmeric orb and my other tanglewire. Zur's weirding and telepathy are cards I'd love to run, but my deck often goes to time in tournaments as it is, and I dont want to push it. I guess there's mindlock orb, tabernacle, dampening sphere, and the like but you dont have enough slots for everything.
>>94849765I guess? If I'm making a ton of tokens, might as well grind and gain off it.>>94849789I have never gotten it to 1000 no, but I have killed many, many people with it and All Will Be One.
Hoping for a unique W/U or W/U/G legend that isn't just do thing draw card out of aetherdrift
>>94849553Here's what I'll be playing next week, wish me luck...
>>94849825I'm hoping absolutely no cards I want come out during Aetherdrift or UB because I don't like the settings.

>>94849837based
>>94849232kaladesh related artifacts are so ugly, I don't like that it's the go-to artifact plane for core sets and reprints in the last few years
>>94849846don't deadname it chud
>>94849837Only card I have interest in Aetherdrift potentially is the new Amonkhet God
>>94849837I'm hoping this Gonti does something gay and boring, otherwise I might CONSOOM.
>>94849825Mark Rosewater here. It's a group hug commander following the success of Ms. Bimboflower.
>>94849280>How is a man getting bit by a radioactive spider and becoming different not mutation, but some guy melting half into a PC or whatever totally is "mutant"?I really don’t want to drag the UB slop lore discussion across threads but I can’t leave this unansweredIt all depends on what the IP considers to be a mutant. In Marvel mutants are a race and it is very rare for a character that was not born a mutant to be considered one. So even though Spider-Man has literally mutated he doesn’t fit the classification of mutant in universe. You’ve hit on the thing that all Marvel fans have to deal with eventually: that X-Men and its plot lines do not play well with the rest of the Marvel universe
>>94849846It’s the twisty gold filigree look that’s so unpleasant. Everything is an over-designed Fabergé egg
>>94849881I hate you so much.

>>94849881So in the marvel universe, the word mutant did not exist until mutants the race came around? What did they call medical mutation?
>>94848730Maybe get enchantment cost reducers? That way playing larger CMC auras isn't as hard for you. Here's a good list: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/cost-reduction-cards/
>>94849825Granted>Kinnan, ramping racer! 2/2 WUG>When Kinnan ENTERS create a 6/9 vehicle artifact named "Beastmobile" with crew 2 and "when Beastmobile is crewed draw a card then you may put a land from your hand onto the battlefield"u rike? He makes a vehicle AND does thing to draw card (and play a land!)
>>94849881>>94849917In the Marvel IP, Mutant refers to people born with a specific gene that gives them powers. Mutates is what they call someone who was mutated/altered in some capacity from a normal human. Wolverine is a Mutant, he was born with the special gene that gives him his powers and identifies him as a mutant. Spider-man is a Mutate, because he was mutated/altered by being bitten by a funky spider.
>>94849948Funny thing is it's still weaker the IKO Kinnan.
>>94849695this is one of the most bait decks I've ever seen.>teehee I'm playing this weak ass commander that you have never heard of that just makes gnomes and goes wide!>suddenly getting hit for 90 damage impact tremor procs because of other or the biggest buff ass nigger gnomes running at you as 60/60s that just so happen to do double or even triple damageaids, pure aids.

>>94849967The fact she herself doesn't need to attack to get the buff is retarded
>>94849967>biggest buff ass nigger gnomes running at youThanks for the laugh.>>94849976I mean. Yes, I'm not even going to pretend otherwise, but she'd still be a strong voltron commander if she had to do it herself like Myrel has to.

>>94850041I don't even build commander decks to win games, I make them to do a kooky situation like force everyone to vote on something 4 times in one turn.
>>94850041I don't lose often
>accept I lostLiteral cuck behavior
>>94850078I meant more that if you won every single game you wouldn't be having any fun. Of course you go into the game trying to win.
>>94850078Trying>>94850097No its not. What a retarded sentiment
>>94850078I'm a Timmy I want to DO THE THINGeven if I lost so long as I DID THE THING I will be happy
>>94850054damn this is insane, I need it in my chatterfang deck
>>94850078Nah, the tripfag is right. If you are winning every single game it means that you aren't playing the same game your pod is and you might be pub stomping. Either your deck is a different power level or you are playing with newer players. If there is a discrepancy with knowledge of the game, I usually just tone it down to precon level. 25-50% is a good target.
>>94850097Are you one of those people that thinks everything they play is fair, and everything people play against you is broken and cancer? And even if you ran into a 1:1 mirror and still lost, you'd just claim they were playing your deck dishonestly?

>>94850313I won’t. If you do UB Cosmere in 2027 then I might buy in if you promise Vin and Elend will be white peopleBut honestly I think the boat already sailed on that one. Brandy Sandy said you approached him about it years ago but instantly moved on to other IPs, and unfortunately your 50% UB slop quota is going to tank sales and your sales team will do a hard course correct, so I’ll probably never get the only UB set I would ever even be vaguely interested in

>>94850353No deal, I need those fuckers lying in the field of flowers and both pale as snow

I don't care about any other Universes Beyond but I'm going hard as fuck on Final Fantasy.I just really hope Emet-Selch is a good commander.
>tqMagic has been dead for years. It's been carried by sunk cost fallacy for at least a decade and the inertia covid bought it will carry it to at least 2030, but the design has been grinding against a hard ceiling for several years now and we have seen countless examples of outright power creep and pie breaks both intentional and accidental due to the effective limits of pre existing balance having been reached. The average age of the playerbase continues to go up and up and up as young people who are potentially into TCGs play cheaper and newer games that aren't burdened by 30+ years of schizophrenic autistic design. And of course, the refusal to seperate product lines and design means Magic can't innovate or respond to changing trends. Not only did we have to deal with sets releasing cards meant for commander and standard mixed together with no clear demarcation, now we have to deal with UB cards. It's a corpse. One that can still have some gold squeezed out of it, but the best days are long gone and there won't be any more good ones in the future.
>>94850455noooo you need to hate all UB because...you just heckin have to
>>94849232>Is 2025 the year Magic dies? No. Anyone who says otherwise likely has a huge chip on their shoulder about the game and cannot separate their burning desire and reality.
>>94850455You will get 7 Clouds and 6 Sephiroths, and you will like it.
>>94850455I'm pretty much the same but focused on FFX, FFIX, and FFXII with a touch of FFV and FFVII (ruined by the AWFUL "remake" scam). I've never been interested in the MMO games, should we expect it to eat up a lot of the set?
>>94850487FF has far more iconic characters than LOTR. A side effect of being like 20 games and not 3 books.
>>94850495You'd be lucky if most FF "fans" (as-in, people aware of it but not actively involved in the fandom) could name Titus.LotR is arguably one of the most influential pieces of fiction in history even if it hasn't done anything of value for 20 years.
>>94850503>LotR is arguably one of the most influential pieces of fiction in history even if it hasn't done anything of value for 20 years. This is utterly irrelevant to anything and leads me to believe you think this is about FF having characters more iconic than Frodo, rather than the fact that FF has more iconic characters to pull from.If LOTR didn't have 4 Frodos it'd either be aftermath sized or you'd get Random Hobbit in the background of a party: as a legendary.
>>94850473>because...you just heckin have toNo because allowing any of this shit is a slippery slope to 100% of Magic being ads for other products
>>94850503>You'd be lucky if most FF "fans" (as-in, people aware of it but not actively involved in the fandom) could name Titus.the palpable irony of not being able to correctly name Tidus
>>94850512>if LOTR didn't have 4 frosos it'd be aftermath sizeWhat are you even trying to say here even discounting same name legendaries the set is still like 270 cards and there's still around 65 unique legendaries. You also seem to be unsure of what iconic means cause FF definitely does not
>>94850490>I've never been interested in the MMO games, should we expect it to eat up a lot of the set?Expect Emet-Selch to get top billing, definitely an Y'shtola legendary card, and maybe a Venat/Hydaelyn legendary card, but I don't imagine much more of XIV would make it through than that. Though XIV has more than enough content, not enough of it is distinctly "XIV" in identity, because of how much of XIV itself is lent from the rest of the series. It's a Final Fantasy themepark game already.
>>94850512They don't go depth-first on anything, you know. You're going to get things that appeal to people who have played one Final Fantasy game, not people who know the wiki by heart.
>>94850521I feel retarded now
>>94850539That puts me at ease, as I was worried XIV and VII were gonna get almost all of the love. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of shit I love more than ever. I'll likely save up some money and buy a few boxes once the spoilers are out so I know what I'm getting into. I have a distinct feeling I'll end up building a few of my favorite characters so I hope they're not shit cards (or at least have cool themes to play with). Thank you, anon.
>>94850545Eh I’d wager most Fallout fans never played the first two games and yet there were tons of references to that

>>94850566More plot, miracle and foretell please. They each already have a legendary creature that gives the keyword to your cards but I want more, many more.

>>94850516Slippery slope is a fallacy
>>94850572Yeah plots one of the best mechanics they've done in magic no reason it couldn't come back either
>>94850566I highly doubt it could be balanced due to the damn Colossal Hammer, but I always wished for a commander to grant Living Weapon to equipment you cast.
>>94850634That's also one of my most wanted effects for a commander. A phyrexian legendary in orzhov with that effect would be sick
>>94850627It's only a fallacy if there isn't a provable trend you can actively point to. We now have no commitment from WoTC to print in universe version of secret lair / UB cards and they are confirmed releasing officially playable in all format Spiderman and Spongebob cards. What more evidence do you need?
>>94850634As long as it was a commander only card wouldn't be a big deal. Hell could probably be a real magic card too. Games progressed alot obviously a 10/10 for one mana is strong but it is a token you'd need your commander out etc.
>>94850566Embalm 100% and Eternalize to a lesser extent. Exiling a card from my graveyard to get a zombie copy of it with a cool, unique token card is based.Maybe a Legendary Artifact or Creature that gives all of your creature cards in your graveyard Embalm for their cost reduced by a certain amount, but it works like Escape so you have to also exile cards from your graveyard to do it (so people don't just play their decks for free as easily) and Eternalize but it costs both life and exiling cards? Not sure how I'd make it but I want it.
>>94850673>ynr amonkhet was wasted entirely on nicol bolas but shaped like an ugly goblin and not a dragon
I'm genuinely surprised that we still haven't seen more Battles. There's a lot of design space to expand on them. Mounts are actually coming back with aetherdrift and there's still no sign of battles coming back
>>94850455I have a dollar on Emet Selch being a planeswalker
>>94850690Battles were a shit idea and will likely go the way of Arcane as a type.
>>94850455I mean his art looks really good. I'm hoping he's interesting and reasonably playable, unfortunately the power level on the FF legends is going to be overall lower than other UBs because they're from a standard-legal set.>>94850691Wizards said they gave up on UB planeswalkers after forgotten realms
>>94850673>5 mana including 2 white pips for a one-off 4/4 zombie with double strike
>>94850692I disagree on the principle that we haven't really seen even a fraction of their potential yet. We only have Siege battles right now, there can be other subtypes that work in different ways. For example, pic related is a custom card that takes it in a really interesting direction
Rooms were the best addition since Sagas
>>94850512CopiumNo one cares about FF
>>94850731there are some interesting ideas
>>94850630I always get plot and foretell mixed up because mechanically it seems like they should have each other's names.
>>94850753Reminder text needs cleared up. Should either by "you may cast" or "cast without paying its mana cost" depending on how strong you want it to be. Personally I'd make you still pay the cost, that opens up the opportunity for ones you can cast for free by meeting a condition.
>>94850172I'm not buying shit since they did New Phyreixa dirty.
>>94850690WotC abandoned them because they were meant to be something just for draft and it turned out they didn't even do that right, with all the ones that saw play being glorified sorceries.
Which tendrils of agony artwork do you prefer?
What should i run this with
>>94850891Japanese
>>94850902Cringe>>94850891Og
>>94850903>Heh, you like the best one? Well I'll show you! I like the worst one!
>>94850914> abstract art:(> abstract art, japan:O
Casting Flare of Denial and Three Steps Ahead as Cancels is fine
>>94850935OG isn't abstract art you gay retardI'm a huge fan of many of the japanese only cards, but the original is my favorite tendrils of agony (probably because I had it when it came out). You're just a contrarian quality hating bitch.
Anyone else mad they haven't done any proper Grandeur support? It's been almost 20 years I'm dying to make a deck around Tarox and Korlash goddammit. It'd be so easy too just make a colorless changeling with "this creature's name is the same as a creature you own/control" and I'd buy 35 on the fucking spot. I'm aware of the combos you can run with them to simulate Grandeur but I just want an actual card for it
>>94851080And in case it wasn't obvious, the card would have "A deck can have any number of cards named _____" so you could run that many.
>>94851080>where is [singleton support] for [mechanic explicitly designed for constructed]Why are you like this.God the new legendary rules are fucking retarded.
>>94851106>cards with "A deck can have any number of cards named" are perfectly legal in Commander>why should this card with "A deck can have any number of cards named" be legal, anon??????Gee willikers, anon. It's almost as if other people have different opinions of what they think is fun, or something crazy like that!
>>94851116Literally nobody said anything about that you absolutely retarded spergDid I quote >>94851099? No? No I didn't, because I wasn't responding to it. God you're such a fucking disingenuous retarded twat holy fucking shit.
>>94851127Over 20 years later, still the truest fucking thing.
>>94851054> how dare you insult japanese art, you tasteless retard
I know this card is overpriced and not worth itbut damn is it fun
>>94850935None of that art is abstract
so waitlooking at the larger full art of thisis this creature literally just a fucking cloaked ball with two gigantic cloaked legs? is that fucking it? It's Geodude with legs instead of arms?
>>94851290Yes, it's a homage to the Fresno Nightcrawler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXEusizrKxg The video quality is shit and I can't be fucked to find a better one. There's spooky-monster wikis with more info
>>94851303>>94851290Alright I lied here ya go https://cryptidz.fandom.com/wiki/Fresno_Nightcrawler has much better videos
>>94851303the spooky wikis have better art of ithonestly I think them being so giant makes them look more wonky than unsettling
>>94851080I'm gonna be totally honest with you that the only foreseeable way that I can imagine wizards being assed to do a no-limit grandeur card is Rick and Morty
>>94851322They've done whacky ass shit in normal release sets in Standard, just look at Duskmourn for the most recent examples. It doesn't have to be some dumb UB card
>>94851328Are there any universes beyond that actually fit decently well?I think Warhammer would've fit better with Warhammer Fantasy. There was Total War so I don't know why they didn't do a tie in, Valve made one with Dota 2 and Warhammer.
>>94851333Yes, lots. There's a ton of UB cards that, mechanically, fit perfectly fine in normal Magic, especially the LoTR cards. And they've also done reprints of way older cards like Conspiracy in UB, like with the Assassin's Creed set
>>94851312Wait wasn't that the "cryptid" that was blatantly a child hunched over with his arms down his baggy track pants?
>>94849429too many to remember them all:>Light Pawshated that every game was always the same stuff, also I shifted to a pod that has forced sacrifice>Liesa, forgotten archangelinitially built her angel tribal, then changed it into forced sacrifice. took her apart because every game was too long and was losing hard to combos>sydrivehicle and artifacts, took her apart because blowing/locking lands was not fun for my opponents>Quezamy favorite deck for a while, unfortunately it was too slow so I had to scrap it
>>94849863>Gonti the white
>>94849466The Lord of Pain is so much more fun imo. Haven't played with Valgavoth since the first time i played the deck.
>>94849553
This format is full of the three types of decks i hate that the only way to have fun is to run a really bad deck that's full of cards that force pepole to play fair.
>>94851397I was thinking of building a vial smasher deck with him in the 99, you must kill the last opponent asap otherwise he might kill you with your own commander
>>94851431Its why tiers are GOOD
>>94850731>>94850753I like these. Though the boss creatures would have to be a good bit stronger to justify them only being creatures on your turn. Them also flipping into a trophy that the person that beats it, either as a battle or a creature, gets would be neat too, and would open up design space where maybe when you cast it, you choose whose control it enters under. There could also be battles that have a static beneficial effect, but once they get downed, instead of dying or flipping, they get their initial counters and then the person who downed 'em gains control.
>>94851442*if you don't play offbeat decks
