Fantastic timing on the new bread! Here are some progress on the Inquisitorial retinue.
>>96605775Lookin' good.
>Mfw I realize you can make brown, purples, pinks and greens at homeBlack/Blue/Yellow/Red/White/Metallics is all you need! We’re being scammed!
Here's a start on my Legionaries kill team. I'm really liking these colours.
>>96606016I will wait for further updates before I start posting thin your paint memes.
Have barely highlighted up to the second purple color and already hating it. Not sure when trying to replicate the layering style what exactly I’m doing wrong each time but would like some feedback, especially on where to place the coming highlight layer.
>>96606016Bit thick, but not too thick for it not to be fixable.>>96605759Also I am working on a thunderhawk right now and I want to apply some illustrations like pic rel to some of it's panel sections. Could I just print on standard paper, cut it to shape of the panel and then apply/seal it with a pva mix and then shade the edges to blend it all in?
>>96606258Hard to tell from the pic, but I would have a darker base coat and highlight the wrinkles first in purple and then any non-recessed flat surfaces, leaving the recesses the darker base coat. Then do a thick highlight (not thick consistency) on the wrinkle edges with a lighter midtone like a lavender and a do a small patch on non-recessed flat surfaces like the lower right of the minis back so there is a dark, purple and lavender layering. Then just highlight the edges of the wrinkles again more thinly than the lavender with a more pastel tone and then the very tips of edges white. From there you can leave as is or glaze the layer transitions.
>>96606258I am at a similar phase in painting, especially with cloaks and robes like yours. I think I'm learning that you need to be brave and go hard on the contrast and have darker shadows and brighter highlights. Generally bottom lighter and top darker seems to work and the bits that stick out go lighter higher up.Another way seems to be to use lots of little lines on the raised bits with darker colours being longer lines and lighter colours being shorter lines. I'll post an example of an anon on here that did a really nice bit of cloth that I keep going back to after this.
> Cleaning up the house> Put off minipainting for half a year> Feel like priming some up> Can't find the bagReal fucking cool
>>96606327>>96606258This one. I fingerlicking love how anon did this cloth.
>>96606339I feel like anon was trying to do a shimmering cloak with the lighting pattern but it is coloured too flatly. It needs more highlighting and contrasting black, but I do agree that the concept is really good
What's the best way to magnetizing vehicles for transport if they don't use bases? Assuming things like tanks that are mostly flat, shoving rectangular ones at the bottom of the interior?
>>96606770Put the tank on a decorative base, and then magnetize that.
>>96606358>I feel like anon was trying to do a shimmering cloak with the lighting pattern but it is coloured too flatly. >>96592687And finished. Pleased with how the helmet came out.
>>96606967>anon here, I just wanted red cloth with some contrast, here's a better photo after the varnishNevermind that newer photo is gorgeos
>>96607031>gorgeous*
>>96606967Yeah, that cape came out excellent.
>>96606985Love the skull grenade
>>96606985very cool, anon. The only nitpick I have, perhaps a black rim would be better?
>>96605759>>96606258Summoning bt anon to post his templars cloaks, theyre a good example of nice layered cloths. Hes in the op after all so he might see this.
>>96607062>>96607066Thanks anons.
>>96604703Reposting for an answer
>>96607180Looks like old bronze to me. Add some red to that goblet water effect and it will all really pop with the contrast.
