You guys don't get it. I'm not hyped for star trek because I think it's gonna be good. I'm hyped for the maximum trolling star trek entails. There's no way they make that set any good without dropping a pretty insane bomb of a card.
>>96627948I'm not hyped for any franchise but the cards we get. All the interesting Commanders these days have been exiled to Universes Beyond.

OK there are some bumps here and there this early on but I want to see more of the OG artists coming back doing this set, especially Larry and Steve.

But it's somewhat limited. No one asked but here's a quick Sticker Primer.>green is a mustThe color has the best ticket-producers; Clandestine Chameleon can actually be powerful, Finishing Move has utility as a removal spell>blue gives access to Ambassador Blorpityblorp and also clones + flicker, which leads to a more important point...You can't just "add" ticket creatures and call it a day. There are a dearth of viable ones. You'll want cards that cheat them out (Green Sun's Zenith etc). Clone them or flicker them or if you're in black reanimate them. Proliferate is ok too>choosing a commanderStickers modify a creature for the rest of the game. Adding keywords, base stats. It's a voltron strategy that trades bursting out the gates for inevitability. You won't be slapping your commander with 50 equips, but when everyone else is out of juice you'll be left with a 10/10 with 6 keywords. That said I've only had success with three commanders.>Ukkima, Stalking Shadow and Cazur, Ruthless StalkerProbably the "best" sticker commander by a mile. His leaves the battlefield trigger becomes very lethal very fast when you're flickering and reanimating him at 10 power. But I've had some success on a reanimate-heavy skullbriar build that runs a small handful of green ticket producers.I'm sure there's other commanders that'd work well with stickers though I'm not sure which.

>>96630757>seemingly believe that spamming this thread achieves anything.you have an extremely low theory of mind for others. they're posting here because they're angry and this is the only place they can let off steam without being swarmed by "let people enjoy things" redditors. which is what you're doing right now
>>96630764Yeah. Ivy feels like it aligns conceptually with stickers, but she really has nothing to do with them from a mechanical standpoint. Of those ones you listed Brokkos is an excellent choice. I'd considered him in the past but him just being a flat 6/6 turned me off a little. It makes the stat stick aspect of stickers less enticing. Keyword souping him would make him very strong though, combo-y depending on your sticker deck roll at the start of the game.
>>96630770No that truly is how they feel, you're giving too much benefit of the doubt to people who really are just very unintelligent and likely mentally ill.I've seen them argue here on multiple occasions that their spam against UB is somehow the alternative to just "eating shit", they think that by incessantly spamming about it they can somehow rile up enough anti-UB sentiment to save the game they're too emotionally attached to to quit.

>>96630916I see what you're doing here but it's not really the same as counters.Countering prevents ETBs and bypasses whatever protection a card might have on the field, it also stops any non-permanents. Counters are way more powerful and versatile than any removal, so giving them a nerf by refunding mana costs would be fair, make the game more fun and still leave counters as very good anyway.

>>96628717Yeah nah.So saturation isn’t “brightness” it’s colour intensity. You could have a “bright” image that is just white.Dynamic range might in accurately be called “contrast”. Essentially it is your highest highs and your lowest lows. A black and white image would be completely desaturated as it contains no color but it would have high dynamic rangeAgain what you’re complaining about with the new art is that it has high dynamic range because it is digitally created. Inherently a digital canvas is able to produce stronger darks and lights than a real world piece of art which is then scanned. What youre really bitchinf about is that art isn’t made the same way it was 32 years ago. Similarly, a black and white image would have high dynamic range but 0 saturation.Saturation is color intensity, which is decided by hue. I love the EDH format but i would never ever play it
>>96631918>>96631926Its cowardice.
Thinking about making a custom commander to get printed as a high quality proxy some time in the future. This is my rough idea so far, basically Hatred as a creature in a way that's in line with her ingame mechanics.Anything you guys would add or change to make it more interesting?
>>96632194>Hatred in the command zoneYou know it's like 50bux nowadays, yeah?
>>96632202It's like 18-20 but yeah maybe 5 mana is too for a commander with that effect
>>96632216*too lowThen again Vivi exists so i really don't feel like this is beyond current powercreep.

>>96632225No I looked at the legal version, but I'm in EU where it's cheaper. In non-english I could get it for as little as 12€
>>96631888Designing for commander really did ruin this game. Well, more so the paypiggy floodgates it opened.I'd love UW-only equivalents of each format (including EDH), but fragmentation like that kills already struggling communities, and I'd rather not lose Legacy. PreDH, Old School, and friends are a novel approach, but aren't the answer because they will get fully solved as netdecking continues its meteoric rise.It really does suck.

>>96632544>those dont work good well in a spell slinger shell though.truthough, everflowing well is okay in most decks simply because it's a 3 mana draw 2 on top of turning into a land. >>96632176What happens when your commander dies (and it will cause it's not just a dork)?
>>96632040What are you talking about
>>96632540In the game she has very low base attack but becomes massively powerful by consuming her own HP, being particularly strong at low HP so she's kind of a high-risk high-reward character.I figured the hatred effect simulates that very well, it encapsulates her HP management aspect and it's very risky to do in commander since if i use all my HP to kill someone, the other two could easily finish me off.
>>96632706nta but a better effect would be a repeatable activated ability that gives +1/-1 until EoT, since that's technically how she works in the game

There's chandra's ignition, which makes it a 2-card 10 mana win the game combo (and there are a number of other such combos in the game right now for that rate). What else? >>96632813I mean yes you can do that but then the other players will just kill you because you'll have no life left.
>>96632833"co-product" probably means there's some extra contractual stuff in there that makes it so they can't just do anything they want with it.
>>96632844Hasbro owns the Power Rangers IP, though, just fully. The Toei thing is because of Super Sentai and Toei handles it in Asian markets, but Hasbro owns the franchise.
>>96632813I'm the one who made the card not that anon, menace is flavor since people in-universe often perceive her as offputting and creepy, also i think an evasion ability makes sense since her dodge animation makes her phase through an enemy.I thought first strike would be cool because for one, the way you play her is by spamming powerful charge attacks that hopefully kill everything quickly, she's not a character that can really stand there and trade hits unless you shield her with another character, but I also thought it makes for an interesting gameplay interaction that if she swings big, you essentially need to sac two creatured to block her, no more because they'd die pointlessly due to first strike and no less because of menace.I guess you could say that's kinda flavor too because she's not good at AOE and can only hit a small amount of enemies at a time.
>>96632844Didn't stop them with Transformers, and the Japs will license anything to anyone for any purpose so I doubt they're being cagey.Maybe it's just slated for 2027.I'll make an updated roadmap meme now we've seen the real 2026
>>96632841you know you don't have to spend 40 life to kill someone with commander damage, right?
>>96632856This card doesn't do commander damage anon.
>>96631457Where is this so-called leak?
>>96632869two different thoughts, it lets him do damage to the other opponents and works on the rogue's passage swing without costing more mana. additionally he makes 3x back if he does something like vampiric link before the swing.killing people with commander damage means he's paying 20 and not 40, so he's not risking dying to gut shot.
>>96632831Do you think that's how licenses work? If you have a toy license you can do anything? Cards aren't toys and a star trek toy license does not give you a star trek cardboard license or video game license. This is literally why Spider-man got the omenpath shit. They have a license for cardboard and not video games.Fuck, in the 90's marvel was handing out vidya licenses based on specific game genres like RPG.
>>96632829>hasbro owns Jurassic parkhow are they have money troubles with a trillion dollar film franchise?
>people really think if you have a license to make Jurassic park toys then you own the property and can make anything JP relatedThey wouldn't even had needed a license for spidey if that was the case because they already do spidey figures.
>>96632856anon statted it with 1 power, so you'd still have to spend 20 lifeand it's reeeeeeal easy to die from 20 life in a turn cycle at 5-6 mana, even against 2 players. You could give it lifelink with a third card, but at that point you're playing an 8+ mana 3+ card combo for the win, which is... fine? There are plenty of cheaper ways to win and for fewer cards. not to mention it's a creature with no innate haste and no innate protection from removal which makes you a target as soon as you play it. It'd be a decently strong card but I don't see it being busted.
>>96632856you could win every casual commander game just running this guy and insurrection effects.
>>96632856Doesn't deal commander damage. However, it does work with infect.

Why is that Spidey set being shit on?
>>96633004>there's someone here who has falthis/kediss threaten tribalYes hello good morning. It's great fun punching people with their own commanders. It also has (almost) only all legendary creatures too to take advantage of Heroes' Podium
>>96633010Most of the cards are both bad and not very mechanically interesting, also many people have terrible capeslop fatigue.
>>96633010Because it's just not a very interesting set. It clearly suffered from changing from a small non-draftable set to a 'smaller but draftable' set and it didn't feel like it really captured a lot of the general notions of what people love about Spider-Man, a lot of the card designs feel generic, etc.
>>96633010It's actually incredible how mediocre it is. There's probably less than 10 good cards in the whole set
>>96633010and in addition to what people said, it's a heavy tribal set, but doesn't work because people who enjoy spider tribal don't like the idea of playing spiderman cards
>>96633010Mostly because it's just a bad boring overpriced set, secondarily because people have UB fatigue and tertiarily because a lot of people are sick of superheroes
>>96633049when i think of spider tribal this is who i think of
>>96633051>a lot of people are sick of superheroesThey are going to make the marvel set next year blatantly overpowered to force people to buy it aren't they? the other infinity gems are going to be so tuned up they're One Ring tier
>>96633062>They are going to make the marvel set next year blatantly overpowered to force people to buy it aren't they? When in doubt, double down on your mistakesIt's the corporate way
Okay a lot of you told me Vivi is broken in commanderIf I struggle to find games or people neglect to play games with me as a result of using him (even though I've aimed not to make the decks with him broken) I've got a backup commanderI just primarily want to win games with lots of spellcasts, I don't actually like directly attacking much with creatures
>>96633062Probably not, no. I think people overestimate how much people hate superheroes. It's MCU fatigue, and the set clearly lifts a BIT from the MCU (in-as-much as the comics themselves have done MCU synergy, like Nick Fury's secret son who looks exactly like the Ultimate version replacing him) but it's meant to be based on the comics themselves, so who knows.
>>96633068I think most people will still play you if you use Vivi unless they're giant faggots.Probably should be declared a game changer tho.

>>96633068i play against vivi playersi just kill the commander on sight
>>96633071Sidenote I hope "Fantastic Four" and "Heroes for Hire" being cards all on their own doesn't mean each individual member isn't getting cards, because it'd be kinda shitty to have five Peter Parkers and not even really one Luke Cage.
>>96633071Anon, 99% of people who have heard of superheroes have never read a single cape comic in their lives, and modern day cape comics are so terrible even if they gave it a shot they'd never try it againthe MCU is the only way most people even know these character, if they go heavy in on comic-only stuff with B or C listers literally nobody will buy that set
>>96633075I mean, I'm just going to never attack with any creatures when I use Vivi to make it a little more enjoyable. I'll just stick to instants, sorceries, artifacts and creatures with useful abilities. Only to block with them.Hopefully everyone's on board with that style of play, and they feel that's a little more enjoyable.>>96633084Yeah I'm prepared for that, I got a lot of cards I'll be testing and trying out to mitigate that. I don't want to insta-win games either, which is why I've elected to make a stalling deck to build Vivi up.
>>96633092I mean the MCU-known stuff will be the focus of the marketing push, but it will have a lot of comics-only shit.I just want Darkhawk, man. Maybe he'd be in a Cosmic set though.
