>>96905715Have you seen the state of Mages lately? Consensus is a bitter pill. While the founders of Ceoris may have traded quintessence for blood, not every childer embraced was one who would awaken.
>>96905835Because Paradox doesn't know how to make a ttrpg and they listened to larpers.
>>96905835they got rid of -all- unique disciplines
>>96905835This was their response to almost all single-clan or bloodline disciplines. They all became amalgams instead. The sole exception to this is Oblivion, which is a fusion of Giovanni Necromancy and Lasombra Obtenebration, used by the Hecata and Lasombra clans alike, which is why people can play Lasombra necromancers and Giovanni shaow monsters in V5, even though neither is in-character for characters of those clans.
I'd love to give Vampire the Requiem a shot, but CofD games just don't feel "alive" to me. They just feel so hollow and empty compared to WoD games.
Last night's HtV session went pretty well. The PCs spent a week recuperating from their wounds. In this time one of them had several PTSD flashbacks from a month-long Miserying at the hands of another Slasher, one was stalked in his dreams by a Werewolf telling him to fuck off, and another player was physically stalked by a Werewolf who also told them to fuck off out of the marshes. Could they be related? The Werewolf also warned them to stop dumping bodies in the marsh, but the PCs aren't dumping bodies in the marsh. Once healed up, they immediately went back out into pitsea marsh to try and get the Vampire Killer once and for all. They located him eventually, stood naked at the foot of a dead tree with a large rock next to it. The rock looked to have beem carved at some point, but the PCs couldn't tell more from range. They opened fire immediately, hitting him three times with minimal effect. Thick drops of blackish brown blood oozed from his wounds. Zombies erupted from the marsh about them, all with medical tags on their ankles and wrists. The corpses looked fresh. One PC was pulled away from the combat when they heard their girlfriend screaming for help in the waters, as she rushed over she was accosted by two zombies skulking beneath the waters edge. The Will o' the Wisp continued to cry for help, everyone hearing different voices. But only she fell for it. The Vampire Killer stepped behind a tree and vanished from site. He reappeared two turns later, ripping into the arm of our werewolf hunter with filthy fangs. Another zombie emerged from the foot of the tree, swollen and bloated, its legs seemed to have crusted and twisted into a tail almost, and it crawled and slithered towards them. After 11 shots into the Vampire Killer, the players began to wonder if they were missing something. He had only just been tipped into Aggravated damage. As the serpent zombie moved onto the PC who had been dogpiled by zombies, we had to call the session for time.
>>96905967Does your desire to play the game not outweigh the work any GM or player would have to put into a game to make it feel alive?
>>96905967Elaborate.

>>96905849I see oblivion is still a thing shouldn't it be something stupid like fortitude&obfuscate. srsly what in the fuck how can you get rid of vicissitude the Tzimisce are a high clan and one of the OG. Far too complete for modern ttrpg players need to make it simple as fuck
>>96905999oblivion is a fusion of necromancy and obtenebration just like how "blood sorcery" is actually quietus (no paths) with some random thaumagury abilities as power picks, but a character only pick 5 power in total from a discipline and a lot of rituals need specific powers and also some powers even need a previous power so all oblivion really does is bann you from learning both shadow and death magic for no reasonalso they made all the shadow powers two dimensional instead of three dimensional because fuck you
>>96905970>Read this as >Last night's HIV session went pretty well. The PCs spent a week recuperating from their wounds. In this time one of them had several PTSD flashbacks God damn i need to sleep
>>96905980It doesn't, because at that point, I'm not playing in the world of Vampire the Requiem, I'm playing in the world that my group built together. If I'm going to play a game with an established setting, I want that established setting to feel alive and occupied. If I'm going to play a game that relies on a group to provide the setting, I'd rather just go with a generic system. I don't see anything appealing in a game that provides you with a pre-established setting that you need to put a whole lot of work into in order to make anything interesting out of that setting. I'd like to play Vampire the Requiem because of its streamlined mechanics but otherwise, it just doesn't have anything going for it.
>>96906019>also they made all the shadow powers two dimensional instead of three dimensional because fuck youWELL i mean considering the retarded state of this game. Forcing you to play as gen 15-11. This technically isnt that retarded or far-fetched. Every discipline should be a fucking joke, with blood that thin.

How do you justify the favoritism that the writers show the Tremere?
https://catbox.moe/c/t8rlcz
>>96906230>Favoritism>TremereIf only
Call it shit taste, but I like the Lilith lore from the start of the Book of Nod, even if the rest of her lore in VTM is ass and it's never really capitalized on properly. I also like how you can treat her Awake thing as its own concept or hook it into Mage if you want, with Caine's failure to Awaken being either a problem of him failing the test of the angels or the Curse warping it into a fucked form of Quiet, which is why vampires can't Awaken despite still explicitly having souls. But like I said, you can ignore that entirely if you don't want the crossover implied there.
>>96906225>Bring in a Theurge instead of doing it yourselfI'm sure anon's a competent enough occultist. This is why we don't shack up with Red Talons though
>>96906230It's not the 90s anymore anon.
>>96906262We don’t need the help of humans to rid ourselves of Wyrm taint
>>96906256Noddist stuff gets pretty tiring when it comes to her. Along with the edgy masochism but I do agree with you. She's a neat figure that can be utilized better.
>>96906291Yeah pretty much everything ELSE about Lilith in VTM was stupid, and the Bahari's obsession with sadomasochism feels like it comes out of nowhere and makes no sense. The first part of the Book of Nod is the only good lore she has, and I can really see how it could've been used as a seed to construct a really interesting figure, but it was never really nurtured properly. Instead it got covered in layers of shit writing and vampire CBT cults.
>>96906030But that's how every game works? You take plot hooks or settings written by writers and then you build ontop of and inside them until they're your world? There's loads of stuff baked right into VtR, a chapter of setting info and plot hooks you can lift and more scattered throughout the whole book.>>96905995I may not have done myself any favours by narrating how he tipped into aggravated damage by having the gunshot hit a different area and have a gruesome effect. The Vampire Killer has a huge pot belly that hangs down past his hips from drinking his victims completely dry, and for that shot I described how the shot tore into his hanging and heavy belly and burst it wide open, thick blood pumping from the wound and actually eliciting a reaction from the Slasher. The players all went "Oh maybe his belly is his weak spot and we should've been shooting that all along?" like it was a pinata of blood to burst. I think if he gets the option to, he's going to fall into the marsh and return to slash another day. But he could well die now, we'll see.
>>96906247They have more Thaumaturgy paths than there are Disciplines.Despite being a bunch of inferior vampires without any access to magic, they were able to diablerise an antediluvian and effectively wipe out an entire clan.Despite being newbies and outsiders to vampire society, they were able to wipe the floor with the Tzimisce and make themselves an integral part of vampire society.Despite all of the above, they were also capable of wiping the floor with the Order of Hermes and almost wiping them out, despite having lesser magic and despite being vastly out-numbered. This gets repeated in the modern nights too.
How difficult would merging oWoD and nWoD together be?What would be the easiest things and hardest issues in integrating nWoD splats and lore into oWoD's metaplot?
>>96906256Agreed lillth is cool as the mother of all magic the first oracle etc etc. Her lore however is mostly bad which is a fucking travesty. a lot of cool stuff can/should be done with her. I like what was done with her in the fair is foul gehnna scenario. Without her canine would be a bitch
>>96906278>Local human hater defeated by a hamburger and a belly rubRed Talons are just Tsundere
>>96906340NTA but you've got understand why it's so easy to see nWoD as bland compared to oWoD
>>96906347Well that's sort of the difference between genuine mages and people(vampires) that barely have a hand in the occult, Tremere and friends had talent they just traded it for shitty immortality. I think in the setting they get treated like dirt and the pyramid kind of makes them seem anti-player but I understand what you mean. On the topic of the Thaumaturgy that's probably to give players and STs more variety in what they do as blood wizard x 1000 isn't everyone's type. Can't have a wizard archetype with no fireball for instance
>>96906360If you really like oWoD's more codified conventions then yeah I get why the nature of CofD may not appeal, but surely people aren't treating the setting like an adventure book to work through? You have to be ready to improvise and expand on existing setting information and put your own stuff in there? The setting info on Chicago or wherever may say that X is the Prince, Y sect is in power etc, but you have to fill in those gaps and actually make something interesting happen with those pieces? That's no different in my mind to making something up wholesale using the building blocks you've been provided by the book?
>>96906165I tried to warn him that bathhouse was a Black Spiral Dancer hotspot, but he called me a “bigot” and went anyway
>>96906360Nta but personally they just knocked it out of the park with Masquerade so well and all the alt history stuff is very well baked that I suppose everything in oWoD feels cool because it's very alt history, though I think CofD has its own good settings like Vigil despite being a bit less fleshed out
>>96906403>It wasn't a Red Talons that had the wormsColor me surprised
>>96906360>just understandMakes sense. And for those that don't want handholding?
>>96906395>tremere and co are such retards who traded their ominpotence for shitty immortality>that's why they were able to diablerise an antediluvian and become an integral part of vampire society and then the camarilla and btfo the tzimisce and btfo the hermetics twiceIf they didn't have writer favoritism, they would be a wretched, pitiful bloodline that never accomplished any of the above.

fuck you leeches
Can someone tell me what's so bad about V5??? People keep telling me I shouldn't play it
A few threads ago I floated the idea of an historian/penitent woof who (through whatever means, probably a high Ancestor background) came to know enough of the War of Rage to go "Wow, we really fucked up" and basically make their long-lasting goal (you know, those things you throw out as a concept in creation and that maybe the ST will allow you to make some steps towards as an overarching personal arc before the endgame) to atone to the other Fera. So, wanting to create problems for myself, what do you think of these creative ways to bring back lost breeds:- Pull out some of them from the Mokolè's racial memory (I'm sure that somewhere in WoD there's some way to make thoughts real, at least temporarily. Can you think of anything specific?) Alliances with other splats are an option)- Go however deep in the Umbra is needed to find some actual Fera spirits of times long gone, and make them take over physical people (but with everybody knowing and consenting! Maybe kinfolk?) as Banes do to create Fomori. The result is probably a single-shape creature and not a full Fera, but that can maybe be the progenitor for the renewed breed. What can go wrong?Literally, please tell me, I just like to theorycraft bullshit and how that can horribly backfire.
>>96906503Check last thread near the bottom. Someone localized their complaints about the clan compulsions
>>96906482but anon the smell of that fecal miasma is what entices them acting as a super powerful aphrodisiac just one wiff burns the brain so hard the you can literally feel the dopamine rush bursting in your headdogs cant help but sniff asses and a bathhouse smells like an aids ward getting a group colonoscopy the stench of that much ass its all-powerful the alore is impossible to ignore
>>96906503It has a mixture of good and bad changes but it generally shifts the lore and setting around to be lower power and more street level, and has a very overt focus on the personal horror of being a vampire much more than the previous edition, so it seems like being a vampire is more of an all downside situation. Imo you just feel less cool
>>96906525Allying yourself with a Mage could probably help you bring them back. The cost might be quite high though, either personally for your character or overall
>>96906538I feel like I need to go through a Rite of Cleansing after reading this
>>96906564How?Time shenanigans? Wholecloth recreation?
>>96906525>I'm sure that somewhere in WoD there's some way to make thoughts real, at least temporarily. Can you think of anything specific? An archmage that would test the fuck out of you making you suffer for ages god fucking knows how you would meet them or why they would even care about you
>>96906538>this is what Pentex teaches peopleBSDs do not smell good. It's a more pleasant experience donating my pelt to the local SoL nun

>>96906570>A M*ge willingly bringing back an extinct speciesFor a personal cost probably getting turned into the mage's pet or a whole lot of favors assuming you don't get charged immediately. Overall, idk, a lot of Gnosis maybe, probably a lot of sacrifice for the overall biomass required so your friendly mage doesn't combust from violating the laws of reality. Time Shenanigans seem even more difficult than recreation and even with recreation who's to say you don't end up making a fleshblob Kaiju. Even more pressing matters of where the hell are these Fera going to live?
>>96906525Mage seems like the most likely alliance but, and this is big, why would they? Closest would probably be Verbena or Kha'vadi with the Chakravanti hating you soooo much it might cause nephandi to start sniffing around.Although I suppose there could be a case for a Chakravanti archmage to have a grasp of the truly big picture and realize woof fuckery messed with the wheel in a big and lasting way

>>96906608Would that not just create a horizon realm for the woof to live in?On a serious note, I'd imagine that the fera returning would help balance out Mom and the Wyrm to where active multi-front strikes on Pentex would be possible allowing for reclamation.
>>96906360That's a different question, bland to me implies lacking flavor, the guy was saying it wasn't "alive". I think NWoD has a more interesting flavor than OWoD, but I can see how OWoD feels more alive, having global conflicts makes you feel like you're part of a bigger world, whereas NWoD mostly focuses on the local scale.
>>96906525Creating life for a mage seems to be Life 5 for the body, Mind 5 for the consciousness, and Spirit 5 for the soul.If you are binding an existing spirit to a mindless body it'd be Life 5/Spirit 4/Prime 2Since you are trying to make a supernatural creature you'd likely need high Prime too, I'm guessing.Oh, and even once created you probably want to the use Mind 4/5 to essentially teach the new creature everything it needs to be a functional being and that it didn't get by being born and growing up the usual way. And even then it'd still need time to adjust to the imprinted data.>(All this explains why Doctors Frankenstein and West had such rotten luck with their creations; it’s one thing to energize a complex biomass, but quite another to produce a functional member of society.)And that's before we get Paradox or Unbelief involved...
>>96906642Likely yes, but the even bigger problem then comes from stopping a 2nd war of rage from the Garou who probably won't be trusting a sudden revival of old fera
Why do you even WANT Fera around again, do you enjoy society being torn down and living in the woods terrorized by a shapeshifting bear?
>>96906677>war of rage...TWO>Garou get brought to heel cause their numbers are lackingI know we're playing in the broadest strokes, but I imagine part of anon's journey to the end would be getting every tribe totem to be okay with it or something. You know something that spreads the idea, maybe not so much the penance part, of how useful it'd be to have all the fera back. You know, cause Gaia's dead dying and it couldn't hurt to try.
>>96906349Translation guides were published for Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, and Demon. My ST has been working on how to get more of a Lost flavor out of CtD. >>96906565*lol* ditto
What are the best and worst Fera for humans? The Wyrm is bad for humans too, so theory would say that they'd be good overall until you begin to look a the "we should bring the Impergium back" crowd, the "we should kill all of humanity with diseases for the Wyld" wererats, etc
>>96906677I know this is an astonishing revelation, but the Garou have learned from their mistakes to the point where they don't try to actively wipe out all of the Fera whenever they encounter them any more.
>>96906719Bastet.
>>96906693Shapeshifting bears are still around, this is more like the boar dudes that eat corruption I figure.>>96906698Well yes but he does state to let us know which ways he could fuck up in, and even with diminished numbers Garou can probably still beat 5 each without much difficulty
>>96906693Most of the other Fera are chill compared to Garou, that's partly why they got slaughtered in the first place.
>>96906725this is true but on the other hand you have literal Magic or an entity that isn't Gaia bringing back these Fera, so it's not as if Garou are going to be very trustful
>>96906064The discipline, I assume?
>>96906719>we should bring the Impergium backThat's a key component of the new campaign that my ST is working on.
>>96906719That depends how fuckable they are
>>96906739As long as we all remember that the other part was a nagah assassinating a messenger on the behalf of the Wyrm, who was carrying a message sent by more peaceful werewolves to tell a more belligerent werewolf to fucking quit it and leave the fera alone, only for the belligerent werewolf to go full tard rage and the fera to proceed to mobilise to fight back against the werewolves, thinking that the belligerent werewolf represented them, which caused the other werewolves to fight back. And if the nagah as a whole actually did their Gaia-given duty properly, as Gaia's secret police who killed fera who threatened the balance and fell to corruption, the War of Rage would have never happened in the first place.
>>96906719The kitsune are basically harmless.
>>96905713The Ventru in the coteri pissed them off and now has been blood bonded to the new Primogen's bodyguard to avoid a bigger diplomatic cluster fuck.
>>96906753What could possibly go right?
>>96906349You can fold WOD in CofD but the other way around would be a bigger ask.
>>96906860>The Ventrue pissed them offYou'd think his dignitas would stop him from being a tard.
>>96906064Just spam that shit like there's no tomorrow. It's not like mortals can tell what's happening.
>>96906093Not really worth running but useful in terms of material.
>>96906866>What could possibly go right?Wouldn't be much fun if anything did.
>>96906854Well if they all did their Gaia-given duty, then humans would be shit-smeared tribals living in fear and never have exploded into vampires and mages or made silver weapons so it's been a long failure in general.
>>96906719Rokea hate humans a lot, because humans have been far more of a problem for them than the garou ever have
>>96906503It's not bad some people just have small brains and get buttmad. it's just a different edition of the game. tweaked mechanics, progressed lore with occasional retcons. in general a lot of parts of it work better (e.g. Disciplines, Hunger) and people complaining about a lack of content for it in 2025 are usually rageposting off of a 2018 mindset. legit the only thing missing from it is Sabbat, but there's good homebrew books and ignoring dev commentary its very playable even by RAW.
>>96906895As if Woofs wouldn't be the same way, we should all be thanking Mother we have plumbing and computers

That and driving most humans towards big cities and away from the wilderness. Still, Pentex wouldn't even need to hit them back since the government will do it for them.
>>96906739>chillBuddy, we have/had Werelions genociding Werehyenes recently. Or part of the reason why Werebats are extinct is that Werejaguars basically convinced Garou that they were all Wyrm.

>>96906064I've played characters that made extensive use of the discipline previously. Some good general advice is>Don't use it as a crutch. Presence can allow a boor to get what they want socially, but it goes so much further if you actually think about what you're saying. Make good arguments, reasonable requests, and you'll walk over everything. Most importantly, it never leaves the victim of presence thinking "why the fuck did I do that?" afterwards. Presence is very subtle in some ways, but if you don't provide the victim's mind a way to rationalize their behavior, that contradiction will fester.>Don't spam it. There are multiple reasons for this. First, Presence is the opposite of Dominate in that people you use Presence on will remember you. Used prudently, this is almost always an upside. But if you use Presence every single time you're talking to people, everyone in town is going to remember you and how charismatic you are. Problem is, you're a vampire and you really don't want the whole town scrutinizing you. You also can't control very accurately how people with Presence will act while under its spell. Some people are nuts, and they may go above and beyond in the worst way for you. You can also easily develop stalkers through overuse of Presence. >The big trick is to pay close attention to who you're using it on, and to what end. Think about what you want to accomplish, then determine how, if at all, your Presence powers can get you what you want, and what could go wrong.TL;DR: It's a supernatural enhancement to social, be smart about it, and like any discipline, know when to actually use it.

>>96907484It's a matter of personal opinion. To anyone who is used to blood points and blood pools, it's bad because it's different. But for people who are new to Vampire, there's nothing inherently wrong with the risk management system of hunger dice in V5, and some of them prefer it to the resource management system of blood pools in earlier editions.Though it's much easier to get sick of the hunger system, if you fail several rouse checks in a row. There's a 3% chance of going from Hunger 0 to Hunger 5 over the course of five separate instances of vampire powers, of going from being totally fine to being on the verge of a hunger frenzy, that players have no control over.
>>96907544No that's just for party tricks. Who has two ducks, four thumbs & no fucks? This guy
>>96907556True. V5 handles hunger and blood better plus it brought back blood potency. These guys are just retards and elitists.
>>96907556I don't inherently hate Hunger, but the fact that you need to rouse check for basically anything vampire-y and that you start taking malus's from the first hunger point is a bit overly punishing, on top of blood potency making feeding kind of difficult. I agree that maybe players shouldn't be flippant with doing vampire shit, but there's a difference between being flippant and being so conservative that disciplines are kind of useless. At that point, there's no reason to actually play a vampire with a clan or waste much XP on disciplines
>>96907562>letting the wyrm fuck your with dickBSD really are insane. Those things will probably strangle you to death at some point or lead you towards questionable choices
>>96907556The hunger system needs a tweak or some kind of pressure release for powers. Cause it kinda defeats their purpose if it's just gonna be a cycle of use powers>hunger>feed at three>power>session done. There's gotta be some middle ground between the two that allows one to do vamp shit without insta-frenzy in the worst case or gamifying them via the pool.
>>96907587Hate to break it to you, but Kindred are weak as shit and even elders and can be taken out with basic firearms. That's the entire point of the traditions and Cainite society going underground, because if they didn't, they'd die. They can barely contain the beast. That's the point. I personally like that the game makes you play politics and be MUCH more careful and conservative. Everyone is valuable as a team member because the power level is so much more realistic vs anime bullshit.>>96907596No, because that's the point of predator system being given such a huge placement in the game. Now your Cainite has to feed in specific ways and staying fed is an integral part of the experience. Every time you fail is a moment a masquerade breech can happen so it's great for spicing up events and leading into major plot hooks which has happened to my players multiple times.

>>969076630.05 Paradoxbux have been deposited in your account.
>>96907663Barely containing the beast is only a new thing in V5, there's an element in older editions where Vampires were lacking self-control, but not lacking so much that they immediately risk going bonkers over using one discipline. I don't disagree with the whole exercise but I think hunger is just kind of a lazy way to handle it

Whatever you're playing, they should always have to live among and interact with people.>Verb-based faction identity. Clans, tribes, all of these can be broken down to three or four verbs that define how they should be played, no need for lore or history or nuance.>Hatred for lore. Players shouldn't have to read or learn about what they're playing. They should be able to play it according to vibes, according to their feelings.
>>96907249Not everyone who enjoys WtA is like this, but I have noticed that there are a lot of very thin-skinned WtA fans that throw a hissy fit whenever someone posts the mildest criticism of Apocalypse. If we look at the other two "big" oWoD lines, Vampfags regularly talk about how much they hate their own metaplot, how much the Anarchs suck, and how often they end up homebrewing/rewriting shit anyway. Half of the magefag population outright rejects the setting's basic premise that the globohomo fantasy known as the technocracy was well intentioned but have become monsters slowly killing the world they claim to save. There's a lot more self-criticism from those two, but there's a subset of WtA fans that are convinced WtA is perfect and that any problem, subjective or otherwise, one can have is the result of the accuser being retarded or tasteless.

>>96908241Nta but I feel like pre W5 Werewolf partially appealed to me because it was weird and had a bunch of shit going on that was whacky. W5 is like if they removed all the cool cringy stuff out and you're just a furry with anger issues. Tbf, you always were just a furry with anger issues but there was a pretty engaging background in there it is too doomer though, playing the fuckups that fail onwards to the end is a bit lame
>>96908334Genuinely, I don't think wraith five will be even close to workable. If we were to keep the parody, they'd just lift Geist wholesale while in Orpheus' skin but make it jokey depressive missing the point of both games entirely.
>>96908346I mean, if humanity only had to deal with the children of gaia or the glasswalkers we'd be fine, might even make some actual progress.
>>96908317Thank you, I try to induct them into literally ANYTHING else but ease of convenience and familiarity means that unless I'm personally running something else when no one else wants to we aren't playing anything but DnD. There are no real local groups in my metropolitan hellhole though so I'm shit out of luck>>96908345They aren't fans of being locked into an archetype of sorts with the supernatural creatures, as part of their main refusal to want to actively play it. I could probably get some luck with Hunter because playing a dude is a lot easier
>>96908360Arguably any of them. It felt like one of the points they were trying to make with H5 orgs was that each one is bad except the one (You) and yours side with. Except they don't go that far which defeats the purpose, the orgs might as well just be labeled 'Unknown backing ps. ST make up lore'
>>96908367I'd be surprised if Wraith is workable too frankly. Probably massive lore retcons or a>Maelstrom killed everyonesituation
>>96908317Well, I’m not keen on just let this little tale end tragically, but you never know what’s on the horizon Particularly because she’s using him to empower herself so she can burn down her dad’s pharma company… and he’s an extraordinary citizen managing it for the Syndicate
>>96908346Depends on which of the tribes have the most sway and which Apocalypse scenario occurs, a couple of the Garou victory scenarios keep human civilisation intact.

>>96908417Well hey. Those people can be killed in, maybe, wild animal attacks. We can't be sure and what he doesn't know won't hurt himNow I'm curious if Verbena would be able to make a fetish or some equivalent for the Talon. Kind of as a 'parting' gift on the day the event is set to happen incase anything goes bad.Either way, it's a nifty little budding alliance that's rather fitting. Good work.
>>96908241>Vampfags regularly talk about how much they hate their own metaplot, how much the Anarchs suck, and how often they end up homebrewing/rewriting shit anyway>Half of the magefag population outright rejects the setting's basic premise that the globohomo fantasy known as the technocracy was well intentioned but have become monsters slowly killing the world they claim to save>Most of the dogfags love to talk about how retarded werewolves are and how they're responsible for the mess that they landed themselves in and how they really fucked things up with the Impergium and War of Ragefixed for you
>>96908390The reasonable voices being ignored is the defining feature of Garou politics.
>>96908453And they'll be dead for a third time! Just in a way that indicates Nana's on her way to visit her grandchildren in the skinlands.
>>96908457I propose the covert extermination of all trouble makers through proxies? I would suggest involving mages but that would end in starring down the business end of a plasma cannon.
>>96908453Well now they're supermegaghostdead instead of normal dead. As cool as exploring a ruined Necropolis Kingdom long departed of reasonable souls sounds, I don't think Dark Souls the TTRPG is going to hook many people in.Hell, Dark Souls the TTRPG might be better than what we're going to get when you have to roll ghost dice if you use Arcanoi too much and then your character has a schizoid episode where your shadow does every bad choice you could think of
>>96908484Yes I agree, the Red Talons need to go.
>>96908241Revisionist history folks. You are literally replying to a bait, to anon who goes "WTA fans thinskinned" to get yous every thread or two. (Also, I still remember you throwing baits on reddit and 4chan simultaneously against Magefags)
>>96908404Most hunters have noble intentions but suffer from lacking information / being too dogmatic, that's what makes them fun.
>>96908398That's unfortunate, I suppose a case that a werewolf isn't all that different from playing an elf or dwarf or whatever, wouldn't hold water? Vigil is a safe bet, you can cover a lot of different monster hunting angles with it. Plus you can then unleash a werewolf on them and angle for "wouldn't it be fun to all be those guys?" if they respond to that.
>>96908452It'll only be a disaster when the Talon learns Mom is Lilith instead of Gaia :^)
>>96908496But then we don't get the conclusion to the Red Talon getting rizzed by the druid Speaking of that, I wonder how the other anons posting character concepts like the Lupus born and the abuse victim chick or the anon who's friend wanted to play a semi-retarded lupus born
>>96908456I don't know if it's the fans of W:tA hitting that last drum so hard.
>>96908517Well, an Elf or a Dwarf is a fantasy race that's easy to get into. A dude who turns into a wolf is dangerously furry thanks to modern culture and there's just less interest running it compared to Vampire. I got somewhat a few VtM sessions planned for the end of the year when the current story wraps up so I'm not quite at nogames but I'd like to do introductions to the greater setting
>>96908229God, I still remember how they call org hunters, including Leopold, Jobbers.>>96908241This is either bait, or a very retarded take, either way, have your You because you made me chuckle.
>>96908547I think WtA fans genuinely enjoy Garou being retards overall. I know I do, flawed well-intentioned extremists is quite a kino trope
>>96908554True, the furry perception really doesn't help. Sounds like you've got your eggs lined up anon, best of luck.
>>96908568I like the fact that they're completely doomed.
>>96908558Leopoldites are jobbers though. They don't really function on their own.
>>96908454That's an interesting idea, she does has dots in spirit but I'm not sure if it's enough to make a fetish (her primary sphere is life). Granted, I don't know as much about Mage as I know about Werewolf so it might not be as difficult as I thinkBut she is nice enough to make such a parting gift if she's able to
>>96908569Yeah in DnD terms it's sort of like asking my players to all run a Tabaxi even if the setting is built for it, I'll try to broach them on it when they get more of a taste for the setting as they don't really understand WoD being as crappy as it is
>>96908575The fact that they still fight makes BSD seethe in hatred. Which makes my day.
>>96908575Only if you go with W20 (the Apocalypse is happening but it's slow and torturous, not a climactic battle like the Garou expected) or W5 (the Apocalypse has happened, Gaia is slowly dying). Revised has werewolves catching up and self-correcting just in time to potentially avert the Apocalypse.
>>96908558>St. LeopoldSince when did old Leo get to officially become a saint?
>>96908575That is quite kino. I think W5 is too doomed on the other hand but as a setting it's neat to know you're basically just fighting for closure rather than any real hope of winning though I am aware there are genuine victory conditions for WtA that aren't just you lived slightly longer after the world collapsed
>>96908600But you can't really call Leopold Hunters someone who just "does the job":(Also, if Leopold jobbers, H5 Hunters are babies since even their edges suck)
>>96908615It's a V5 thing. Though technically I think the rename first popped up in the afront to god that is Beckett's Jyhad Diary.
>>96908451We will mobilize whoever we can, but our closest forces are already dealing with another reality deviant in the region. Apparently a night club owned by one of our fellow enlightened businessmen is being attacked by... uh...A horribly mutated werewolf with 2 masculine genital organs and 4 hands...Excuse me, I need some hypercoffee...
>>96908600They don't fall into the category of your average glowie, working for the state. If you sign up with them, you sigh up for life. They expect you to die if that's what it takes to complete your task since dying to protect God's creation is a worthy end.
>>96908118I'm the bottom post & I'm NOT in support of the trauma/rape/abuse whatever allegory, the one dipshit couldn't look past. I had my own issues with CtL & I don't think they're all that universal, feel free to disagree with me. While I'm not a Magefag, i dont even play Mage (im much more of a Vampire/Wraith/Werewolf fag), but I do think Archmages should be more powerful than/rivaling the Gentry. I really like a lot about CtL but I think some CtL players are as bad as Magefags when it comes to sucking off the Gentry & the powers of "story" & "title" & all that jazz. Lostlings are really annoying with the way they view their splat the same way Magefags are, but Lostlings are in denial about it.Just to be clear. I'm not the "its a trauma sim" dipshit
>>96908622All the Leopoldites we see are borderline insane nutjobs that could rival PC Hunters, they're only "jobbing" in the sense that they aren't actively picking their hunts without being high up in the order like Bach
>>96908091Wish I had the time to post in schreckt again. That was really fun
>>96908558>You rmemember the Inquisition, right? The people who dedicate their lives to fighting all forms of the supernatural without mercy or doubt? Yeah, they're just like your average joe working a 9-5
>>96908610Nobody likes having it pointed out to them that they're the failures and cowards.
>>96908547There's always nuance. The Wyrm orchestrated the War of Rage and the other Fera fell for the ruse just as much as the Garou. The Garou were right to identify humanity as a problematic species in need of regulation that threatened the balance. But that nuance doesn't change the fact that the Garou handled both of those situations in a really retarded way and even though the Garou have saved the world on multiple occasions in the past, they've utterly failed to prevent the world from sliding towards the inevitable Apocalypse, due to their own rage-fuelled stupidity. And that's fun. It's fun to play the latest generation of Garou, exploring the retardation of the elders and trying to understand how they reached that point so that you can undo their influence and find a better way, before the world ends.
>>96908343Yeah, my hope is that when they get older I can bring them into the hobby, or they'll have their own interests & i can get some free time to game & rebuilding a group
>>96908663>>96908118Not involved with this conversation before now, but I always dislike the core conceit that the Gentry are all alien to the point of monstrosity either. Mainly because it feels reductive and one-note? Inhuman mindsets don't always automatically lead to torture and suffering, Like I get that if your Keeper was sometimes fairly decent to you and you adapted well to her alien mindset you'd have no reason to escape or join a cope group for therapy which is core to the game's identity, but well, why can't such Gentry exist? They just don't end up with escaped Changelings.
>>96908615...actually, I don't know. Maybe it's a V5 thing?Because I just looked at my Dark Ages Inquisitor and he isn't a Saint. Maybe he was sainted after his death? But the Inquisition book doesn't mention it.>>96908669Look at H5, any Leopold would kick their ass. Bach would wipe his ass with them.I am a semi-hunterfag (mostly because I don't get the chance to play or run hunter games often) when I am not vampirefag but Hunters Hunter has better Backgrounds than all of their Edges.>>96908687>But that nuance doesn't change the fact that the Garou handled both of those situations in a really retarded wayCould be worse. They could have listened to Nagah.
>>96908663Thank you for the clarification anon, my bad on mistaking you with another hater.
Wanna make a salubri neonate in nyc. Is this retarded and even lore compatible
>>96907833I really want to run Forsaken (at the same time, my group is a variety group and we've probably been favoring WoD games a little too much recently) because it feels as Werewolfy as it can while still being playable and without abandoning the spirit-warrior conceit. Every werewolf has solid physical benefits, but the game heavily encourages teamwork. When you fight a big enemy, you feel like a pack of wolves, working together to slay something terrifying. There's a lot of different build options, you can play a character who mostly buffs and debuffs, howling at the moon to fill your allies' hearts with courage and your foe's with despair. You can be a ganker striking from the shadows, and the front-line blending war beast is still a perfectly fine build. There's fighting styles that further lean into this idea of build diversity. There's one for the rampaging berserker that increases the power of all-out attacks, there's one that allows your strikes to block your enemy's use of spiritual energy (essence), my favorite conceptually is Tactical Shifting, which encourages you to shift between multiple forms during combat.Speaking of, every form has a use case. Your hybrid form is not an immediate go-to in any fighting scene. It's your nuclear option, spend too much time in it and you go absolutely feral. Think of it like The Wolf Among Us, the more werewolf Bigby goes, the more powerful he gets, but the more likely to go into a blind rage he is. The enemy variety is great, and it does a good job of keeping the threat level high without forcing you into a limiting apocalyptic worldview. You can actually breathe after, which is a boon on the RP front. Idigam are eldritch horrors, Geryo were the fucked up first attempt to make Werewolves that were locked away for good reason, they can even infect proper Werewolves and make them twisted and degenerate, not to mention Spirits, Claimed, Pure, Bale Hounds and much more.Really fun looking game.
>>96908731If you can make it work it's not retarded.
>>96908637>A horribly mutated werewolf with 2 masculine genital organs and 4 hands...Damn it! It that a reality deviant or are the Progenitors mad about us cuting their funding again? Fine...whatever. The Bottom Line always provides. See if we can emply some Dispatch Center to help with this, get someone from Cobalt Security on the line.
>>96908456That doesn't really work though. Both the vampfags and magefags are being critical of their own game and its premise. Lupine retardation and the mistakes of the past creating an apocalypse that you have to deal with right now IS THE PREMISE of WtA.
>>96908687>The Garou were right to identify humanity as a problematic species in need of regulation that threatened the balance.Ah I see we have a werewolf murder-rape apologist here.
>>96908752How can one make it work?
>>96908716V5 thing. In the Inquisition book he was never made an official saint.
>>96908708>Like I get that if your Keeper was sometimes fairly decent to you and you adapted well to her alien mindset you'd have no reason to escape or join a cope group for therapy which is core to the game's identity, but well, why can't such Gentry exist? They just don't end up with escaped Changelings. They do exist, they just don't end up with escaped changelings, except for the ones who grow bored of their changelings. See the playmate kith, who are typically described as being tossed aside by their Keepers instead of having to escape from them. But it can be difficult to justify why your changeling who enjoyed their time with their Keeper and parted ways with their Keeper amicably is going to end up in a freehold, working with other changelings. Everyone's going to think that they're a loyalist.
>>96908716>Hunters Hunter has better Backgrounds than all of their Edges.Just to prove it, here is the Background. At 5 Dots it's> Your armory is the envy of paramilitary forces around the world>You have access to a significant quantity of weapons that are illegal in most countries, and enough of them to field your own platoon.
>>96908568Every werewolf player ive ever met always plays one of these types>The retarded dude bro who is there to smash & having a good time>The cowboy/samurai type doomed warrior the world has moved on from>Hippie spiritualist/native American smokem peace pipe shaman>hacker/matrix black trenchcoat & guns "Im Neo with fur"
>>96908773Hidden Salubri with a much more present mentor, you kind of have to hide what you are unless you're alone I figure. Sort of like you're playing trouble in terrorist town
>>96908808This is a problem that could've been easily solved with just one supplement book about playing as Loyalists and Privateers.
>>96908808The problem as I see it is that the lore as presented makes such Keepers extremely rare and unusual, while the horribly abusive ones are the vast majority, and ones in the middle are uncommon. I just never liked the idea of "All fae are horrible alien terror-monsters" like you saw with the Raksha and such, instead of having a range from things like Brownies to things like Nuckelavee. It's a necessity of the premise that you're dealing with LORDLY fae, but in folklore and myth those still ran the personality/ethical gamut. The issue is one of stereotyping that kinda reduces what I enjoy about fairies in general.
>>96908687>The Garou were right to identify humanity as a problematic species in need of regulation that threatened the balance.Didn't that to the Weaver getting pissed and vowing to never let her children get pushed around?
>>96908716The "humans breed like cockroaches and need to be contained" aspect of WtA feels so silly to me (even though it's my favorite WoD splat) because human population didn't really explode until the industrial revolution kicked in and population growth across the world is slowing down heavily, even on shithole countries that otherwise have growth rates above 4. The setting treats the devastation of nature caused by this relatively short lived (but very impactful) growth spurt to be a human only thing while even deer can destroy an ecosystem if their population in an area grows too much, animals just lack the mean to improve their quality of life like humans can>"but the garou's anti human perspective is treated as flawed, anon"Yes, but the lore at large still treat humans as a problem that needs to be fixed somehow. WtA was written by 90's left liberals, the obsession with global warming and ecology was a big thing for them at that time, and one of the most popular policies for them was population control
>>96908766If the Garou just did their job and kept humanity contained, like they were meant to, instead of pussying out with the Concord, there wouldn't even be an Apocalypse.>>96908855Only after the Concord. The Impergium happened because humanity was an invasive species invading basically every ecosystem across the globe, wiping out entire species that were otherwise thriving with their over-hunting. By culling mankind, the Garou were doing their job.
>>96908908>Bro you don't get it it, murder-rape is the only way
>>96908860I think you are taking the pov of that Naga too literal. Because if you open 1st Edition, you can literally find statements like;>In fact, the Garou's 1000-year oppression of the humans may well have warped them into causing so much harm upon Gaia. The truth will never be known, but that does not prevent blame being shed.> Thus, for the Werewolf character to find some way to "win," they must somehow become heroic. They must defeat the monster within by exerting self-restraint, nurturing the impulses of human virtue, and displaying genuine courage.Especially the "human virtue" part.
>>96908860Yeah. I'm a big nature advocate IRL. WtA's stance on things was painfully unnuanced at the time, basically the forerunner of the alarmists we have today that have caused so many people to treat environmentalism as a joke. I think a lot of the old anti-modernity oWoD games have gotten a recent second wind not because their anti-modernist positions were terribly nuanced or well-reasoned, in fact almost all of them rely on creating a supernatural strawman to justify their position. But, they are anti-modernity games. And there's a lot more anti-modernity sentiment around nowadays, and for good reason. So if they're one of the only games catering to genuine, however sophomoric, anti-modernity rather than corporate approved controlled opposition... they're going to resonate at least a little bit.
>>96908933It was, but the Garou fucked it up. Now they need to find another way thanks to their screw-up.
>>96908716It's not really fair to compare Gigachad Bach to your average PC. That man would have at least 6 dots of True Faith and would serve as a plot device. Still, your average inquisitor could put most hunters to shame, hard to match the level of knowledge and power of the group that has been around for 700 years and has acces to magic and funding on the biggest religion in the world.
>>96908773>>96908851You'd also have to explain how they hid from from the Five Burroughs
How do hunters hide all of their blood and evidence from the police if they get hurt. Also bullet casings? Do they just toss their guns after every hunt? Also do they always wear like gloves and balaclavas everywhere they go if it’s not in some remote location.
>>96908983Generally yeah, Hunters are murderous vigilantes as something of a baseline. You can generally assume that local police are also compromised by the supernatural in some way or another, whether that be vampires, a warlock or something else. It's risky business.
>>96908983Backgrounds, allies, contacts. History informed habits
>>96908934That falls into the "lore at large treats humans as a problem, despite the woofs desire to genocide them being criticized". Almost every other material published treats the advancement of human civilization (including the continuous growth of population) as a blight that will kill the soul of the world. Book of the Weaver in particular treat technological advancement as if it's corrupting humanity further to the point it could potentially make the Weaver's influence worse than even the Wyrm's corruption. They started toning it down in Revised (the big milestone for that was the Technocracy becoming playable in MtAs) but the more hippie/anti modernity factions of the more politically charged splats are still treated as the true heroes. And even then, the actual anti-human factions still get more sympathy than the human ones (compare the "A tribe falls" apocalypse scenario for the Red Talons to the Glass Walkers one
>>96908749I just wish Forsaken had more Apocalypse lore
>>96908983There's multiple layers to this. The first is that police techniques are not as reliable or effective as crime dramas like to depict them as. Depending on where you live, you have certain advantages. In countries that are big on evidence and innocent until proven guilty, they need more than a single fingerprint to prove anything. In countries where the police are corrupt, they're also lazy and will thus pin a crime on some known criminal who doesn't pay his bribes. But in both cases, the police probably have a supernatural mole or two, so you still want to avoid them -or- get them on your side. My last Hunter game was set in 1816, well before modern forensics, and we still ran into some serious annoyances from Law Enforcement. It's not a bug, it's a feature. Eventually, my character, the cell's face, put in the effort to bring a Sheriff's Deputy on board after he became caught up in a plot involving a vampire. Once we had our own man in the sheriff's office, it became far less of an issue. But yeah, do your due diligence as a Hunter. Wear gloves whenever possible (not just for finger prints, but because you'll probably touch a lot of gross stuff), wipe down places you touched if you can't. Dress in a way that doesn't call attention when you're on the hunt. Have a face cover to use when shit gets loud. Either pick up shell casings whenever possible, or use a revolver, which is a favorite of mine.
>>96909059Depending on what you're missing, it's fairly easy to bolt it back on. Bale Hounds are almost 1 for 1 Black Spiral Dancers, it'd be easy to port them back. War Against The Pure has rules for creating non werewolf shapeshifters if you want the Fera back (avoid Changing Breeds WtF).
>>96908958Would it be a stretch to say he’s under protection by the prince?
>>96908940Garou need to shift from leftist eco warriors to rural conservative family values types
>>96908940Modernity does has a lot of issues. And I think WoD actually get some of the criticisms right, with the Weaver and the Technocracy's obsession with making the world boring and safe for humanity (and the straight up evil factions exploiting their works to feed on the general torment it causes) actually being broadly correctIt's just that they frame the whole thing under a very 90's punk view and ironically endorse policies that end up furthering the agendas of the people they criticize
>>96909056Do you think it's possible to have an engaging and fun-to-play game that meaningfully criticises modernity, consumerism and contemporary civilisation in a sensible and balanced manner? What steps would you take to make such a game?
>>96908983I had a fire fighter hunter. He would burn shit to the ground and what the fire couldnt take care of his friend in the local government could. His friend knew about the bad shit but wasnt much of a fighter. So he contributed by getting rid of red tape and evidence
>>96909114Funny thing is that the tribes that get the closest to a rural conservative type (Silver Fangs, Fianna, Get of Fenris and, if you stretch it a bit, Red Talons) are the ones held responsible for the Garou Nation's biggest fuckups
>>96909105I'd probably talk to your ST about whether they'll use the 'canon' court or one they draft up themselves.
>>96909056It begs the question of how, exactly, do the writers expect humans to live? Assuming you don't want every human to just Awaken and fuck off from Earth so it's no longer Gaia's problem, how do you want your issues with humanity to be solved? What will it look like?
>>96909114Yeah let's accelerate total garou death into a speed run.
>>96909067>But in both cases, the police probably have a supernatural mole or two, so you still want to avoid them -or- get them on your side.Or get the supernatural on your side. More than a few Hunters probably have some vampire or the like helping them out behind the scenes simply to push them at a werewolf or something else they hate.
>>96909096Yeah, basically I want to replace the Fera and the War of Rage with the Pure. I want the Triat, but also keep Luna and Father Wolf
>>96909114But if you don't believe in protecting the environment how are you gonna protect nature?
>>96909114But if you switch to that, now the rural conservative family values people are the furry rage monsters. I think it's an inherent issue with taking something that typically holds the role of "evil monster" and making it into the misunderstood fuck-up hero. Which, to be honest, is punk to a T and now I'm surprised Vampire avoids falling into that trap outside of the occasional bit of Anarch wank. >>96909119See I actually agree with you. There is genuine truth to materialism creating a spiritual death in a culture. A hole in the soul that it can't fill no matter how hard it tries, because that hole is fundamentally unfillable by the philosophy that defines the worldview. I actually agree with MtA-WtA-CtD on a lot of the founding premises, but I can't stand the direction they take it in, and how they approach it. I suppose, off the top of my head, the best way to explain my issue is that they often make Humanity a secondary player in an issue that is fundamentally Human.
>>96909139>>96909067>>96909040>>96909029I see, thanks. Seems like you’re kinda fugged if you don’t have connections.
>>96909181And there's the flaw in the wyrm's argument. One they don't address
>>96909178Simple. The Triat are Illusahim (greater celestines). There's still Banes and Drones just like there are Lunes. If Father Wolf and Mother Moon could create Werewolves, why couldn't two other Celestines create shifters in their image? I'd recommend reading the section in War Against the Pure on non-werewolf animal shifters, and then Blasphemies, which is a book all about "but what if the Werewolves were just wrong about their cosmology" to get an idea on how to create contradictions and uncertainties within your cosmology without creating an absolute goatfuck.
>>96909190I mean yes and no. Depending on where your hunter is hunting they might not be funded enough to look deeply into your action. Your ST tell you where the story is happening?
>>96909149Its almost like liberals dont like conservatives
>>96909174We'd have considered that if not for the fact we met like... two friendly supernaturals in the entire chronicle. One was a Changeling who immediately skipped town, the other was a Geist who was introduced right before the finale. We had a running joke that the Prince of Louisville must love us, because the only vampires we ever killed were a Lasombra and a Baali. >>96909190Connections help but again, you can still duck the police without them. Hunter isn't a game where you should be able to just ignore the cops.
What's the best edition of woof?
>>96909162We're moving out of the cities & going back to basics. The Wyvr is trying to drown us in the Wyrm's pajeets. True Garou are trying to settle where they can & raise a family & fight the urban cities from swallowing up small towns>>96909181Teddy Roosevelt was conservative>>96909189Lots of people are saying conservative family values is punk now.
>>96909132I think so, though there's always going to be bias given the very nature of the topic. >>96909149That's the thing, the Garou Nation seems progressive and leftist on the surface, but a deeper investigation reveals that it's fundamentally regressive and supremacist. Even some of the tribes that seem very progressive on the surface, like the Black Furies, have pretty regressive beliefs with their dedication to the importance of motherhood as a sacred aspect of every female creature's life. A few questions for the threadLet's say you are a vampire and you die, & you get turned into a Wraith. Would it be fair to say your Beast becomes your Shadow or would it be something else entirely (even if similar) after death? Also. If you possess a vampire as a Wraith would you be able to use your old disciplines given the fact that you still have all your knowledge and access to the vitae within the vampire you are possessing?
>>96910357>Let's say you are a vampire and you die, & you get turned into a Wraith. If there's anything left of your soul, it's straight to hell. No Wraiths.
>>96910357>Vampire died and turned into a WraithI'm 90% sure vampires straight up get oblivioned or go to hell
>>96910368NTA but is it hell or oblivion for the afterlife?
>>96910383What's the difference? I'd imagine it's a case of going to Wraith and then just falling into Oblivion.Cause the closest thing to hell is the abyss and that's locked up tight with only exits being known.
>>96910368>>96910373There's a canon vampire-turned-wraith in Atlanta.
>>96910392what's the difference between the abyss and hell? is it not like the classical hell, where there's rivers of liquid fire and imps that poke tortured souls and stuff?in either case oblivion sounds better than being tortured forever in the hottest (or coldest) reaches of hell
>>96910445That 'biblical' hell doesn't exist outside of individual labyrinth manifestations in and going to Oblivion. The Abyss, capital A, where demons come from is very much a Divine Comedy style of hell where they are so far from god's light they are in a realm of eternal darkness that's constant sensory deprivation.WtA abyss, in one of the umbras, do have rivers reminiscent to classical underworld rivers however.>>96910421You remember the name?

>>96910357Beast originates from the blood and the curse and all that. Outside of the Vampire body it probably doesn't hold sway, however a Vampire has lived a while definitely would have it's influences on the Shadow. However the Shadow is a lot more cerebral and nastier than the Beast. The Shadow is a deathwish, and an antithesis, whereas the Beast is a survival instinct. With the Beast, you frenzy at hunger, at being challenged, or against Sunlight outside of your control. With the Shadow, the ex-Vampire might have [You secretly relished hurting people in frenzy] as a Dark Passion, if the Vampire prided himself on being human, and it might emulate the baser aspects of frenzy in Catharsis. But it also might have [You screwed up everything you really desired by letting yourself go] as a Dark Passion to a Vampire who didn't really mind frenzy to a point. Catharsis could be a higher functioning Shadow that goes behind the Vampire's back and cuts undermining deals to destroy its longterm goals. It could take on the position of notable victims or anyone that the Vampire ever Diableried. Blood Addiction could also be a Dark Passion. Sunlight is a little more complicated since an ex-Vampire can experience indirectly from the Shadowlands, but not directly unless they can Embody (usually more difficult with a higher Shroud in the daytime, which can be another source of Angst). Or the Shadow could egg the Vampire on into petty revenges to feed its angst and then make those actions as futile as possible.A Vampire can probably keep their basic physical Disciplines (Potence, Celerity, Fortitude), whenever they take possession of another dead body, which is kind of how it works with Risen who learn them. I don't remember how the mental disciplines would work or any blood sorceries but they might have to just relearn the closest Arcanoi, since they don't have the same supernaturally addictive blood or the animal dominance that Vitae and the curse gave them.
>>96910917Oh don't get me wrong, I want to breed bunny girls. Maybe nymphomania could be one of their flaws, but if we want to pretend it's for SFW purposes it could be that they get crazy visions of the future like Watership Down

>>96910967Reconfinguring your Disciplines to Arcanoi is when something is translated to Wraith sure, but what about their knowledge of Disciplines when they are possessing a kindred body that has Vitae in it? Could a Wraith who used to know Necromancy, or Aupex, make use of Necromancy or Aupex while in the body of a kindred?
>>96910993v5 cribbed CofD stuff pretty blatantly.
>>96910967>since they don't have the same supernaturally addictive blood or the animal dominance that Vitae and the curse gave them.Oh, right, possessing vampires. There's still the problem of remembering proficiency with another's blood, where Disciplines are about familiarity with with the Vitae that you have every night. There's still the problem that it's an unfamiliar beast as well. Unless you take the view that the Beast is all a hivemind and they're all the same entity. I can't remember if there was a "don't possess vampires" cope clause or something, that it was a bad idea for a Wraith to possess a Vampire because the Beast would subsume them, or if that was a Requiem thing (pre-Strix) to avoid having to retrofit spirit world things into V:tR. It's probably a bad idea as far as loading up a crapton of Angst goes. Anyways, I'd stick with the basic 3 physical disciplines for sure.

>>96911135Is this some abstract merchant?
>>96911005Auspex could be redundant since the Wraith already has Deathsight and Lifesight naturally. For thought reading or anything advanced it might be that the Wraith is trying to control a body and suppress it's mind/soul while also trying to tune into the mind of someone else. The Wraith is too busy with one thing and all the while there is the shroud and someone else's Beast as well as the Shadow going on. Are the Auspex thoughts you hear really the other person's, or is it your Shadow messing with you? With Vampiric Necromancy I'm not sure how it works. Whether it works through tugging at a Wraith's Shadow or by appeasing or threatening it's Passions and Fetters, like brute force equivalent Arcanoi, or if it works through the Beast as an intermediary, and now your Shadow is in the way, or if it relies on some spiritual recognition or authority, that could end with final death or that could tip off whoever Reaped you and would get you soulforged.

>>96911277Yes. I think that Caine can basically do whatever he wants, he's essentially a Not!mage with Blood as his Foundation or praxis or whatever mages call it. He knows every discipline any vampire has ever created & he has blood sympathy to every vampire ever sired. He could essentially override the body of any vampire like Agent Smith. He could spy on any vampire in the world through their own eyes, ears & even hear their thoughts. Caine could call all the vitae in every vampire back to him.I also believe that when he first started, he was basically not quite a low gen vampire, but over the centuries the blood thickens & grows more potent. It also took time for him to master & develop. That's why he is fucked with a lot in the early days. He wasn't as powerful then as he is now.
