Damn, the Ghyran RoR seem so overcosted... I wanted to make one for Untamed Beasts (hero with javelin, beasts, skirmishers with two weapons, and beefier 2h guys with 2 damage or +1 wound) but I can only fit like 15 minis in with the cheapest warscrolls and like one upgrade so like 500pts for 5+ save 1 wound 4+/4+/-/1 models yikes that's dogshit, it should be half that
It'd be a push to use these rules at my lgs as is let alone homebrew RIP

It’s just a way to justify random minis. Don’t take it so seriously and have fun.
>>
>>97155442
that's true for warhammer lore in general
>>
>>97155447
Nah. The process was the reverse in the past. Most things didn’t even have minis and you were expected to kitbash or make your own. Ever since chapterhouse and AoS it’s the reverse. Marketing picks out a kit they think they can sell and the nerds have to create a lore justification for it existing.
It’s why AoS lore seems so fragmented and atomized and not like a consistent world/setting.

I suppose it's just that I recall how big everything started out.

>Not since before the Age of Chaos had Bule known an equal, and his gardens brought weeping harvest to lands from the Bloodbloom Fields in the south to the Avalundic Ice Kingdoms in the north, from the peat bogs of Murgid Fein to the unconquerable Rabid Heights and their gargant kings.

>His demesne was too vast for one name.

>It encompassed the Pox Sands, the great Bloat Lake and the Plantation of Flies – fleshwork patches stitched with irrigation ditches that steamed with blight and hummed with spawning daemonflies. As far into the bubonic haze as the eye could see, scrofulous, once-human things tilled the soil with rakes and hoes, or waded into pools with long prods to turn the bloated corpses that floated in them, gestating towards ripeness. Hundreds expired in the time it took Bule to walk past them, and were dragged away to the nurseries to replenish the soil in their turn.

>But it was the nature of lesser beings to attach small names to great things.

>They called it the Corpse Marshes.

>Seemingly at random, feeling where the dead desired his knife, he squatted down into the mire. A sigh of simple pleasure escaped him. The crucified remains of men, women and children staked the ground in serried rows for a stretch greater than a man could ride in a day. Here could be found the bodies of almost every race, including several that no longer existed anywhere but as they did here now. For reasons fathomable to few but Bule himself, he called it his Living Orchard. A foetid breeze moaned through the dead, making them hum and sway, like lush-leaved trees in bloom. Drawing a curved knife from his arming belt, he sawed away a hand that liquefaction was beginning to pull away from the wrist. It was human. A nectarine blackness trickled from the cut. He licked it from his hand, eyes closed in ecstasy.

Maybe that's too big, but then maybe now things have gotten too small instead.
>>
>>97155325
Compare this to what was written in 1st and second edition. Its undeniable at this point aos is having a serious identity crisis

Doubtful. The more grounded presentation developed through 3e years before the other game launched. More plausibly it's a lagging response to the criticisms levied at AoS as a setting in its first couple editions.

They're not random people selling something at a markup, stores sell their shit through ebay especially in the US since it apparently circumvents GW's weird website rules

Yeah the Christmas boxes were insanely overproduced. Those boxes also flopped. I knew it would be a flop when it was weeks later and the generic Space Marine Battleforce was still widely in stock.

First week in the hobby? Did you know that most third party stores offer year round discounts on regular stock GW stuff? 10-20% depending on where you are. That's the difference, the battleforces and army boxes are fomo boxes. The core sets are permanent products.

>>97155832
No I am saying that they said TOW exceeded their expectations and that due to this they are expanding the scope of the project past what it was prior to release. HoH flopped because their fomo box is rotting on third party store shelves months after release and on decent discount.

The "80% of revenue is made during release" number applies only to NEW MODELS. It does not to every possible product in the catalogue (namely, reboxings of already available models). Do you think they made 80% of their profit on glue when the last new formula/bottle was debuted?

If you weren't a brand new hobby baby with fewer than 5 years in the GW ecosystem, you would well know that GW's trade terms prevent international sales through *webstore fronts*, but that if you contact the owners of a store directly they can usually direct sell to you.

It is not GW policy; GW policy is that you cannot sell internationally through your webstore front. They cannot have a policy of "you cannot sell to any individuals living in other countries" because it would be illegal (at least in Canada, and probably in European countries, where laws still have meaning).

Why is modelbegging your only move? You do it a dozen times per thread, to different people, schizotically assuming they're all the same person. I posted a factual description of how international buying works under GW's trade terms, which you might have known yourself if you were actually around in ~2014 when GW started changing the policies which had governed the previous ~10 years of customer behaviour (during which time it was often most affordable to order from overseas due to exchange rate advantages).

What I'm saying is factually correct. No amount of your whining can change that. So would it even actually matter if I am a real grog or a fake grog larping, when I'm correct and you're uninformed?

If you listened to me you might actually find ways to save yourself money by emailing a Canadian discounter the next time you want something lmao.

Hello again, it is time for another scuffed battle report an entire week late my bad. The battleplan was Creeping Corruption, featuring me playing Sons of Behemat vs Flesh Eater Courts, hopefully the board looks better this time my own models not withstanding. Once again I was two drops with a Beast-Smasha, Warstomper and Mancrusher; along with a Kraken eater and 3 more Mancrushers.
My opponent had Ghoul King on Terrorgheist and one on Royal Zombie Dragon, 2 units of ghouls, reinforced Cryptguard, reinforced Crypt Horrors being lead by a Haunter, with a Royal Executioner and Archregant to finish the list.

I allow my opponent to go first and soon regret it as after casting his spells, he slingshots his Ghoul Kings down the board to tear open my two man crushers on the left side, scoring 10 points and leaving me with a hard decision, which direction to go in? Engage the ghoul kings, rush the foot heros, or wipe out the ghouls running down my right flank. I decide to try to kill the dragons and wipe the side ghouls as well, yet I make 0 charges which leaves me stuck, yet consolidated and gaining 5 points.

Going into round 2 he wins priority to my dismay and piles onto my Gargant blob, both Ghoul kings engaging along with the cryptguard, I manage to flip his zombie dragon behind me so my Kraken eater can engage with it. Now I have to hope that the Beast-Smasha's -1 attacks to monsters comes in clutch but it is negated by his feeding frenzy. My Beast Smasha endures to brunt of the ravening lieges taking in total 22 damage yet only dishing out 5 in return to the Terrorgheist, Kraken fared far better leaving the Zombie dragon at 1 hp, yet from the enraged Cryptguard and some spilt attacks from the zombie dragon causes him to be inflicted with 20 damage and because my Mancrusher lived the Terrorgheist powers through to retreat out of combat leaving him to score 10 more points.

Round 3 begins with another roll off win for my opposition causing him to converge on me, even reviving the Cryptguard unit into my backfield, prepping for a glorious brawl in the middle we both throw everything we have at one another. My Kraken dying to the impact hits of the Horrors and my Warstomper taking the abuse from their frenzied assault but it does allow my Beast-Smasha to kill the Terrorgheist Ghoul King outright, yet seeing their leige be cast down cause the serf to take him down as well along with my Mancrusher r.i.p kings. I lift both the Haunter and 3 of his Horrors with the Warstomper (thank god Extra-Calloused Feet is op) but my health isn't looking too good and neither are my points. Meanwhile on the left flank a Mancrusher has been trying to stop a unit of ghouls from advancing up the board and finally meets his end in combat leaving with only Warstomper left.

He said "the next time you want something" and it's clear nobody in this thread wants any Helsmiths of Hashut. But you can buy non-new releases the exact same way. The shipping will be more expensive than buying domestically, but the exchange rate does some very heavy lifting. More grog tips for you: you don't have to gap-fill 2-part torso models like this if you have a thicker cement like Testors in your arsenal. Overglue the join where the seam would appear, and press the parts together tightly. The excess glue will squeeze out and form a bead of glue and dissolved polystyrene. After it has cured, you can carve/scrape away the bead and you will have a seamless finish.

It requires more "downtime patience" since you'll want to give it 8+ hours to cure. But I prefer that to having to gap-fill.

You can't witness weakness like that without wanting to return again and again to abuse those who displayed it.

It's probably going to keep happening after the Game Awards announcement btw. There's a slim chance you're saved by a dual announcement for 40K + AoS, but if it's just 40K it means the hungry copers were btfo assblasted and people are gonna wanna romp on their corpses for another week.

TOW players are very happy with the core gameplay. Outside of magic being simplified it’s the best core rules there’s ever been.only issue post 1.5 is cathay is way overturned. So there’s balance issues. But the gameplay is way grittier and more interesting than AoS. The balance is worse tho. I play both.
>>
>>97157150
>>97157332
To add on I think the biggest thing holding TOW back right now is the old model ranges and need for better tuning (Cathay balloons should never happen again). I think once TOW hits its stride and has a few full new model ranges it’s going to be in a great spot. The future is bright for AoS and tow

Bit of a heartbreaker, this one.
Always liked the imagery and background of the KO (I have a weakness for Hornblower, I guess) and picked up those specific editions of the weekly magazines in the local shop, to try them. Finally got round to them (been in a painting rut) and ... I'm just not feeling them. Don't know if it's all the armour (though I've painted dwarfs and knights before without issue), or these specific gunners, or whatever, but they're becoming a chore rather than fun. Weird, annoying and very, very sad.
If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to them.
>>
>>97157344
>The future is bright for AoS and tow
It would be brighter if there were better cross compatibility and coordination.

Chances are that now both systems will waste another round of releases on updating their chaos warriors, and tow will waste more in making new goblin wolf riders and chariots. While they could have simply made the stuff that worked for both available for both and focus on fixing what's undersupported instead.

Is there a manifestation lore that's sufficient for every army out there (or at least the ones that give a shit about spells)? I'd rather just snag the big universal spells box than splurge on different ES boxes for all of my current armies.
>>
>>97157374
Honestly dude if someone wants to make their own manifestations in the weekly league at the LGS I ain't saying shit. Someone made emerald life swarm from the spare bitz on drycha and if it's the right base size who cares what one green swarm of bugs looks like from another? I know that's not what you asked but as far as I'm concerned manifestations are like terrain and you shouldn't feel pressed to spend money to play.
>>
>>97157361
I think add your stripe in more places. It's also very warm so maybe a desaturated cold tone would help you out
>>
Trying to think of a thing i could organize to get people to actually play AoS at my LGS since nobody ever plays it there.

My first thought was Spearhead but i cant remember if i left my copy at my LGS or if i sold it (I really didnt enjoy spearhead)

I think it might be better to just do a small scale beginners tournament with a set point limit but im not sure how many points i would have to put it on since the spearheads i checked exceed 500 points usually.

Could use some help figuring this out if possible. I was thinking maybe 1000 points would be a good entry point and then just have only basecoating restrictions so that new players can easily join in.
>>
>>97157361

>>
>>97157389
I really like 1k point games, they let units that don't normally shine have a role. That said, you wanna try to have a bit of a gentleman's agreement not to overdo it in centerpieces. At 1k, you don't have enough gas to kill a gargant and you don't have enough chaff to screen, stuff like that.
>>
>>97157374
Honestly there are 3d prints that have identical footprints for every single faction. I do not recommend trying to chase endless spells unless you see them bundled with an army you already want. Some of them have gotten stupidly expensive and they barely do any prints of them
>>
>>97157391
Ngl, they were my bitz/my idea, so of course I wouldn't complain. Friendly LGS bro needed a life swarm for the tournament and I just assembled the drycha.

That said, no one else noticed anything after he put on some green contrast, and the prize was 50 dollars store credit for a 25ish person tournament, so if someone wanted to be an asshole I think they could have and didn't.
>>
>>97157395
Yeah, low point games only work if all players agree upon limitations.
Helps keep some cheeser from bringing Archaon to a friendly game
>>
>>97157395
Yeah i was planning on limiting the larger things. Like a toughness or wound limit.

We recently had a small 500 point tournament for 40k here that went really well with a no heros and T9 limit on armies.
>>
>>97157406
>>97157410

I know in second edition they priced all mega gargants at over 500 and there was a rule somewhere that said no individual unit could be over half your total points allowance but I don't. Know if that is still a rule. Before that rule the meme army for 1k points was "nagash and 10 skeletons go for a walk".
>>
>>97157420
I think a wound limit would probably be better. Since for what i can see most mega gargants are either 500 or just below. Something like 12 wounds max

>>97156327

>>97156237
The leaf flopper has been getting btfo senseless for the past two months, he'll just ignore, evade, and then post it again next thread. It's useless to try and argue against him with actual arguments.

Remember that at first he was claiming 600+ stores carried the limited set in North America because that's what the number on his third worlder app says.
Then anons downloaded the app and it turns out that number includes every store carrying every HoH mini. He was either lying or retarded, probably both.
Then they pointed out the app lists stores from all around the world, not just shit in NA. You have stuff from hong kong on there, for crying out loud.
Then anons found out half the stores carrying HoH just had some french language shit nobody bought, he ignored that too.
Then anons pointed out that you can find crux terminatus boxes on the same list, a box that sold out basically instantly and was decidedly not a flop. Then he started saying it's too soon to tell (despite the fact that he's been sperging about HoH since early october, when the army set was out for less time than the terminator box was at the point of his deflection)
Now anons are pointing out you can find older space marine boxes still, and he's down to his last cope: every battleforce ever flopped (he will forget and ignore this next thread)
This shit took maybe 15 minutes at most to find in the archives, he's very prolific.

Again, no point in engaging him. He posts this shit in every thread, and this place is 10x times better when anons have the restraint to just ignore him. Well, usually. The last few threads have been shitshows without the HoH flopper anyway.
>>
>>97157424
Although this might shaft some of the factions, I think the best way to do it is do 1 model cannot be 40% or more of your max points. since this cuts out the mega gargants (essentially banning them) and still leaves you with opportunities to play big things. Like lets say Arkhan which is just 390 points. Although i do not have as much experience with this game as i have with the other games.
>>
>>97157431
There is a report function. I've never used it but I heard it was a thing idk, I'm a mobile poster
>>
>>97157434
Wound limit isn't fair, just gonna put that out there right now. Mangler Squigs are a 140 point monster with 14 wounds that arent competitively playable even in squigalanche. Gotrek is 400 points, has 8 wounds, and can probably single handedly beat 1000 points of some armies if this game didn't care about objectives and tactics.
>>
>>97157451
Thats why i was thinking about the 40% cost limit.

Max point per model allowed would be 400. Unless maybe a lower amount would be better. Something like 350 points max, since you brought up Gotrek.
>>
>>97157438
Press the three little dots to report on mobile on the top left of the message
>>
>>97157451
Mangler squids have always been kinda ass. The random movement is flavorful but really makes it hard to justify. They should be a true centerpiece model, and I don't think they make sense being balanced taking multiple because they're so similar in their poses between the two build options. I think it'd be fluffier for them to be harder to hit because they're so erratic, but can the random movement and make them cost like 250 and load them with rend and damage. Make it a monster killer unit designed to slam things you have pinned with your stabbas
>>
>>97157455
I just looked it up and gotten is 340 points. That said, Gotrek is good when there's so much stuff on the board that it's impossible not to give him something to hit. I actually think Gotrek would be fine in a 1k point game if you accepted the fact that wherever he is becomes a no mans land. Gargants are a bit different because they have a massive footprint, control score, and mobility. That said, I haven't played a 1k point game since early 3e. Maybe it's actually totally fine and I'm overthinking it.
>>
>>97157463
I'll just roll with 340 points and see how it goes.
>>
>>97157438
he's been banned before, he'l just evade. The only recourse is teaching the tards in here not to engage
>>
>>97157462
Honestly, right now Gotrek isn't what he used to be either, I just wanted to give an example of a spongy unit vs one with fewer wounds but a higher point cost and ward.
>>
>>97157465
Youre gonna have to feel out your local playgroup. Chud AoS players are the funniest thing to me.

You chose to play the most globalist trans-pilled melting pot wargame on the market... so, like... what's your endgame? How do you see things going? All the trans and brown players are gradually removed, and then the game's reputation as "the trans one" is somehow laundered, and after [X] years it's proudly a chud game? How long are you willing to wait for this plan?

Nearly done with the Ikon, just in time to use him for Saturday’s tourney. Just need to do the eel, that little half fish in the water effect, and the base. It’s a cooler sculpt than the reveal let on but his pose still confuses me. He’s seemingly leaping forward and to the side simultaneously but the water effect implies he’s spinning yet his glaive is in the wrong direction if it wants to depict him having just done a spinning slash. The resulting impression I have of his pose is that it’s an awkward sort of Sheev spin.

the excuse for the non-unique look is that belakor's followers are more or less secret and laying low amidst the forces of archaon, who would hunt them down, so their demonic faces are dogwhistles for their allegiance to belakor while being reasonably mistaken for other depictions of demonic faces
belakor is said to be able to see through said decorative faces, so you can emphasize the allegiance to belakor by having those with glowing eyes

His AoS dudes signal fealty by putting his face on things. IIRC it also functions like surveillance equipment because it lets him see through the eyes. Because his likeness is archetypal for what people expect daemons to look like, there's an element of plausible deniability where his dudes can just say it's a generic daemon face.

The Darkoath kits have lots of useful bits for this aesthetic. Their battle standards and armor plates are all styled like leering daemon faces.

theres going to be a new "khazalid mountainholds" army or something that has new dwarves that worship the ancestor gods (grungni, grimnir, valaya, maybe more)
fyreslayers are being souped into that new army as the grimnir faction

so we will have the following dorf factions to choose from:
1. sigmar cuck dwarves (cities of sigmar)

3. good god worshipping dwarves (new faction)
4. evil god worshipping dwarves (helmsmiths)

All the silver is done with this method
https://youtu.be/JjWgwoEFgv8

Black primer, black paint basecoat all over, then a series of three drybrushes, wash flesh shade all over, pure silver drybrush, then edge highlight with silver
For the first three drybrushings theres a progressive mix of silver, black, and a reddish brown.
It's a lot of work for single models but lends itself well to batch painting

Before the final edge highlights I also hit the crevices and rivets in their armor with spot washes of flesh shade again, usually at the same time I am shading the gold. I use the same silver (vallejo game air silver) at all stages of this process, and even edge highlight the gold with it

I think you have the right idea
>>
>>97157374
The universal spells in the malign sorcery box give you a couple different spell lores, and in some cases, they're as good as or better than the faction specific ones.
>>
>>97158660
I'm fine with the gorgers as an alternative in the meantime, I had some Deffkopta blades that I could double up for swords that looked properly brutal. I'm fine with the big caveman bone, but something to be said about a giant rusty lump of metal that can't really cut but is swung so hard is breaks you into pieces that works for me.

I don't even know if I'd be big on the battleforce desu, the best thing in the box is the reinforced Morbhegs, it's good if you can find it under retail price but otherwise nothing that excites me. (Admittedly I've basically got everything I want except Felgryn)
>>
>>97158660
>aren't the daemons in god armies like AoS though?

>t. Death Guard player that now has to neglect my precious Nurglings
>>
>>97158688
Daw fuck that's getting nixed from 40k too? Damn, I can't run my all greater daemon list with be'lakor like I dreamed. Unless they add that as a capability in AOS somehow...
>>
>>97158688
How well do daemonic and mortal units mix in AoS anyway? Like using a herald or greater daemon to lead a predominantly mortal army or regiment, or vice versa with a mortal hero. I don't have the impression that they synergize well.
>>
>>97158626
There's some overlap already tbf. The StD chariots and the lord with the fat spear, as well as the war altar / luminark, which is still sold as the hurricanum for aos.
>>
>>97158714
entirely depends on the datasheet. nurglings were auto-include. great unclean ones/rotigus were used if you wanted a non-mortarion brick shithouse. and even beasts of nurgle and plaguebearers had some play before the codex dropped (the latter in our grotmas detachment which didn't have sticky objectives)

i can't speak for any of the other monogod legions
>>
>>97158626
>Idk reformation seems clueless and ESL
Reformation was the one posting blurry screenshots and CoS warscroll tidbits. His source pretty obviously had access to the next CoS battletome at the very least.

I don't see what's so hard to believe about it, if Dispossessed and Dark Elves were being cut from CoS this edition GW would probably have done it sooner than two years in.

The War Altar shares a sprue but the other is different, hence the KF iconography disappearing on both. You can't buy a Hurricanum and build a War Altar.
True about StD, though Dispossessed aren't sold for AoS in the same way at the moment. They're absent from the AoS side of the webstore so who knows.

Typically daemons will only work with Daemons in their own faction and vice versa. There are a few niche cases, for Hedonites if you have the happy couple in your army they have a specific buff for if a daemon and mortal unit are fighting together. it's definitely not as direct, straightforward, or extreme as that anon suggested, but the US has seen a pretty substantial drop in international tourism this year. especially from Europe, which I imagine supplies most of the international Warhammer players. not sure though, not a tourneyfag

No lights below the model? I know ISO goes to minimum, auto settings wants to set the shutter speed to something insane like 1/2000 when there’s so much light in the box. Of course, having a shutter speed that fast means the instant I tap the shoot button the phone is still moving and the capture ends up shaky. I know I can do timers shooting, though. I’ve watched and read so many guides on mini photography and then actually doing it makes me feel like an idiot. I do end up eventually getting a picture I don’t entirely hate but I usually have to edit it a bit and my end goal is to not have to edit.
To get this picture I had 2 daylight bulb hobby lamps a few inches away from the minis and my Lucent lamp overhead using the plastic backdrop that came with my lightbox on my desk because I gave up on the box this go around; then slightly edited it. You’d think after years of capturing my minis and a few posts of talking with you in the past I’d be able to get a good, consistent result. There’s gotta be something super simple I’m just not getting or it’s going over my head.
Another fantastic Dino, by the way.

I just bought some new paint for the first time in two years and half the bottles of VMC are newer with black caps. It seems to split a lot faster (brown has green medium and brown pigment separate quickly etc) and I swear the new bottles are smaller.

Unrelated, one of the new paints I got was picrel (which did not come in a new black cap clear bottle). The fuckin thing is glossy/satin finish. It glazed amazingly but it needs a layer of matte after. I haven't found any reviews of the paint that mention it at all and the description says matte.

Surprise. I was following your guide almost religiously, actually. Had it pulled up on my monitor with the lightbox on my bed. But yeah, like I said the pic I posted was the best I got and that was abandoning the lightbox and super bright lights that I do have. So I do have some that look on par to your light. Side note, is that the redgrass lamp by any chance? The more I look at the pictures in yours, though, the more I see that I might be placing my minis too far forward? Not by much but some. If your dude is half way in mine usually sit 1/3rd of the way in. I don’t remember where but I swear I remember hearing that you wanted a good bit of distance between the subject and backdrop. I’m certain my issue is operator error but one day I’ll sit down and try to work out whatever is keeping me from getting that crisp white background and colors without overexposure like your pics.
On the subject of the new Vallejo stuff, I tried thinning some in my airbrush’s cup as well and it just instantly clogged it even though I thought I got a good mix and back flow in. There was like a glob sitting inside the needle chamber and on the needle. It was nuts. You might have to pre-thin those before pouring.

Yeah, it's the redgrass lamp. A couple anons in /wip/ were recommending it so I splurged and got it despite the stupid price. I don't want to shill it but it is really fucking nice though, I can attest to that. Now that I think about it I did have trouble getting my background to be as, well, white with my previous lamp which was something like picrel and I usually defaulted to black background instead.
>you wanted a good bit of distance between the subject and backdrop
I think that has more to do with keeping everything in focus but it's definitely worth a try. I'm sure you can figure it out.
>You might have to pre-thin those before pouring.
It was happening even when I mixed it beforehand in a small cup. Another thing was that I felt like these paints chipped a lot easier than others so I had to put additional care into handling stuff. I'm sure you can make them work but I'm definitely not a fan, lol.
>>
>>97160086
Cheers, I’m sure it’s a good lamp. I love my game envy Lucent one because of how compactly it can fold. I’d have to see if anyone’s done a comparison video because that thing can also get crazy bright. It was tempting to get but my experience with Redgrass left me a little dissatisfied. I backed the v2 jumbo wet palette and that thing was crazy hard to open because of the suction it made on the airtight seal and the reusable papers don’t feel like they hydrate the paint enough. I still have a sponge and papers I use in my Masterson’s and the paints feel like they dry on that paper much quicker than they do on my parchment paper.

Understandable, thankfully we have a lot of hobby brands to choose from. I do use their everlasting something v2 though and I think it's good. It uses those membranes or whatever that don't overhydrate your paints so it stays in the consistency you prepared for a while, it's really nice. They do dry out a bit faster compared to the ones using paper though so at this point it's just a matter of preference I think.

The last time I tried focus stacking was without a timer but with a tripod. I usually set up the box on my bed because that’s the most open space that’s near an outlet and isn’t on the floor. But I do put stuff under to make the tripod just not sit on straight mattress. I’m sure it’s a combination of the slight wobble with the camera refocusing/rebalancing whites causing my issues with focus stacks. If I can get my AirPods to work as a clicker, that would be sick, though.

Oh yeah it's the mattress moving when you move. For focus stacking to work on macro shots like we do, the camera really needs to be stable and on the same surface as the subject so they can move together. Try setting yourself up on the floor, both camera and subject. Or both on a kitchen table. The more stable you get it, the easier it is for your camera to focus

I’ll try a new approach to setting up my photography then.
The other issue I get is varying white balances and tint of the overall shot when refocusing the camera or especially when I rotate or otherwise move the minis around. I focus one spot, shoot, then focus another spot, the colors in the image will change. So I have to shoot several captures until I get a series of images with mostly similar colors.
Another annoyance I discovered while shooting those Bladelords is that my 3x portrait lens seems to have somehow gotten dust inside it during that specific shoot because I was taking pictures fine and then suddenly these dots started showing up. Luckily that only shows up during the 3x portrait mode, but I thought I had somehow cooked the sensor with the bright lights or something. Nope, after reading online turns out it’s just unfortunate dust that somehow got in there.

So with slaanesh dipping into arabian nights, and recently nurgle going rural folk cult + chivalry, any guesses as to the new direction they'll take tzeentch and khorne in next?
