Do companions in Radiant need to follow Oaths? I was making a build and hit the Companion section and was surprised with how strong they are, but do they get all that power for free? That really really bothers me for some reason, it feels like K just wasted 40 minutes on the cyoa. They just get to be that strong, get to acquire new powers even, and they can also be free? >>97420747this is a tough one, i think id have it either as a small contained university building or maybe as an expansive campus but with plenty of ways to get around easily so that youre not walking for like dozens of minutes or even hours just to go to where you wanna go, stuff like golems or carts or busses or whatever that anyone can use so that not only do you not need to walk that long but you also dont have to worry as much about being late if you just get a faster ride or smthi think the curriculum would teach both fundamentals and applications, with a heavy focus on teaching people not about like old traditional stuff but just what will be most useful for them during their life time and career, maybe wed include old stories about like fuck ups that happened from rushing or not enough testing or what have you, and maybe study both modern and ancient examples of magic and magic items to see what is, was, and could be possibleas for who wed teach, i think itd be all three, wed of course teach researchers whod eventually be employed by the campus as teachers and researchers to further our understanding and knowledge, but wed also teach artisans/healers etc who just want to make a living off of magic and warriors who want to defend their close people and whatnot, although maybe wed especially like our students to essentially end up as all three kindaas for what magic wed focus on, well in mushoku tensei probably mostly healing/barriers and magic arrays, magic arrays can do just about anything if you know how and anyone can feasibly learn atleast how to make the arrays and can maybe power it with help from others or resources, so it makes sense for us to go for that, the healing magic is mostly to have it on hand and also i think medicine should always be advanced forward wherever possible, same with the barriers, mostly to have it on hand
