I got some minis assembled but now I need to prime them. I guess I'll simply collect my little plastic army men until someone wants to try playing some 4th edition again. FML 40k is literally the only thing I've got. It's the only thing that keeps my friends around. It's the only thing we can arrange regular meetings around. I'm going fucking insane why can't anything be good anymore everything fucking sucks

>>97515501>>97515638Terminators can never be all that good because "high defense, low speed, middling damage with me middling range" is always going to be a less useful stat allocation in a game about scoring points all over the battlefield and changing down enemies around short sight lanes. They only become good when they're waaaaay too cheap for their defensive profile and become spammable and negate their low speed by just being everywhere anyways. It doesn't help that their defensive profile is not nearly as good as it used to be either.
>>97515644Yes. We've made our own narratives. We've played with "interactive" terrain rules where you can level down your opponent's base and such. It was a bit more fun, but I can't say it made any major difference. I'd say that there's no "magic" left. It's just dice rolls and rerolls and the like. Nothing feels unique, it doesn't even feel like it's my dudes fighting the battles anymore. The rules feel wonky in the wrong, non endearing way. You can measure LOS from a gun pointing out of a ruin, but you draw the didtance from the base. Mabye it's simply that I'm sober and that the last sense of wonder has left my spirit.
