So when Vampire Counts actually come back to TOW will they bring back the zombies? i'm using the deadwalkers from AoS for my VC and while the scale is nice the very AoS "half the unit is walking around with graves nailed into their back" stuff feels a bit much. Like in AoS it works because there is a discworld where death magic is dominant and so people need to literally nail down the dead to stop them rising because its as common as bad weather. But in fantasy i always got the impression the zombies in a vampire counts army were not the buried dead for the most part -that being a position held by the skeles- but the poor townsfolk of the villages caught in the warpath where a necromancer goes "oh hey free cannon fodder" and they were killed weeks if not days ago and were never buried.Maybe thats just my personal world building autism though. I've heard fireforge games does some excellent zombie villagers and soldiers you can mix and match but they come in boxes of 10 so AoS is shockingly a much more affordable option.

The chaos warband lost, badly, but a fun time was had by all .My chariot continues to disappoint me. It dealt a furious and earth-shattering two impact hits on the charge against my opponent's gyrocopter and proceeded to be bogged down for four turns. When it finally broke free after shattering the flying machine, it got evaporated by the full force of the dwarfen gunline. My knights, who weren't chosen this time, were cut down by the dwarf rangers wielding great weapons despite killing swathes of them on the charge. My chaos sorcerer rolled a 1 in to a 1 on the eye of the gods table, then proceeded to roll a 1 again. He was stupid for most of the game, but he managed to extirpate himself from the mires of his own ineptitude long enough to cast The Summoning once and clean up what remained of a dwarf ranger unit. My exalted champion, who was wielding the Cackling Blade, cleaved many dwarfs in twain. My warhounds, forsaken, and the majority of my chaos warriors were used as target practice by the dwarfen artillery, but it must be said that once my warriors made it in to melee (thanks to my sorcerer casting Steed of Shadows on the first turn, naturally), they annihilated anything they touched... that is, until they slew a unit too quickly and were left with nothing more to kill! They then got shot off the board, leaving only Ormos, my exalted champion, and Rudolph, my sorcerer, standing. Ormos, seeking an honourable death, charged the dwarf thane and was promptly ventilated thanks to that exploding d6 hits rune. Rudolph, meanwhile, spent the latter half of the game cowering in the ruins of a destroyed building like the worthless spawn-in-waiting he is. A great game, to be sure!Also, I suck at making collages.

Pass over the Pelt of the dark young and it should win basically any fight short of monster slayer.

However the skeletons may be being replaced soonish (we have rumors of a tk vs we box but it's only from 1 source) so if you would feel bad buying the basic skellies and having them replaced 6-12 months down the line (maybe) then stick to kits we can be confident won't be replaced. Stuff like Tomb Guard, any of the 8th edition plastic kits, bone dragon etc.

>>97556678Yeah 60 is too many. There are good arguments for 40 and 50 though. The other 10 could be used for WYSIWYG purposes if that matter to you. Though I'm of the argument you should never run them with shields. I also think there is a fairly compelling argument that units of Gors should only be run in skirmish as well. The -1 to be hit in ranged matters way more than the 6+ armor from shields. And 360 front arc charging and guaranteed higher front line model count more than makes up for 3-4 battle Rez when you have dual weapon str 4 attacks with a chance at primal fury frenzy (though losing warband LD bonus here does hurt).
