More testing! Oracles, Conditions, Bonds, and social "combat"! Also kind of short because of working on mechanics

So the monster at the spa is themed around loss of identity, unrealistic beauty standards, body modification of the worst sort, and the eventual bad end all that can lead to. It can also brainwash people to stay at the spa while it works on them. Sophie had her magical guard down and was taken by surprise, so she was completely under the thing's thrall until it tried to attack her. This means that, while it was able to do what it wanted to her...

Had to consult an oracle for this, and when asked whether or not Sophie lives alone, I got "No, and...". So she live with her parents. Who are both in. Along with her sister.

Hey horny people,

I've been working on a custom ruleset for a Magical Girl solo RPG. It features lightweight rank-based combat (your D-rank lackey will never beat my S-rank slut!) and minimal movement. It is literally made for myself since I prefer simplified no-numbers combat and lots of mind's theater stuff with some hint from oracles.

It's still very much underbaked right now but the underlying combat mechanics seems like they're at the "it works on my machine/dice" stage. I'd like to know how you guys feel about it. Currently, it's got some gaping holes like character progression being comprised entirely of ranks going up and no stat increases. Also the items selection is very poor and there's barely anything to do in the overworld (hideouts). If you find any other issues with it please let me know.

This was implied in my head but I never wrote it down explicitly. When a lieutenant gets finishing move'd, he merely staggers and screams "I'll get you next time, stupid sluts" and fucks off. Nobody really "dies" in this game, maybe except for the lackeys who simply evaporate when their husks reach 0 PROT.
Now that you mention it, maybe there should be a retreat mechanic baked into the system.

This is the biggest issue with the system right now. I wanted to avoid stat rolling and avoid balancing headaches involved with stat progression, hence the existence of ranks to begin with. But there is no difference between ranks in practice. It all boils down to a "high vs equal vs low" system. The ranks might as well not exist in its current form.

I need to either figure out a way to grant incremental stat bonuses per rank or rank advantage has to grant extra clashing bonus. I was even thinking of a "roll Xd4 to clash, where X is your rank in numeric terms" system before realizing that's a stupid number of dice to throw for a cooming game. If you or anyone else in the thread has suggestions, I'm all ears.
