Never seen the Exodite animation but why there a Death Jester here?
Let Chaos idols take this thread!

>>97879446> why there a Death Jester here? It's a real funny story.
Oh my God I just realized when they refresh Dark Eldar later this edition, they're gonna fucking reveal Jaghatai Khan as the next Primarch to be added to the setting of 40k.
>>97879428>>97879432full entry looks more like this.if i can make an actual diorama, there'll be a menial coming in stage left to drag the corpse
>>97879475in a funny universe he would return as a DEldar epic grotesque/some other special fleshwarp but we don't live in a funny timeline and GW wouldn't have the balls to upset the 3 White Scar fans to lose their honcho to xenos forcing them to use some other shitter on gladius taskforce
>>97879480Why is the middle guy taking a shit on an invisible toilet?
>>97879500it's a kneel
>>97879475Khan will return but he has Vect's helmet and his decapitated but alive head as trophy, alive so he can't be ressurrected. The head is hanging on a belt by Vect's own hair where it is continually hitting into armor plates, and it doesn't matter if he takes heavy damage, the head can't die due Homonculi being funny like that.Rest of Vects body was then in turn melted into Jaghatai's new sword, the sword is made of metal but vect's body is still alive within it, giving it a badass dark aura that lets the Khan cut through anything. Also Khan's new model is a dual model with Lelith, and you get options to build Lelith sitting on Khan's shoulder or walking alongside charging into battle.
>>97879506Oh ok, that makes more sense. From the other angle it looked a bit odd.

>>97879533>>97879542I think it is a bit of a "miracle" that Chris Chan never found out about Warhammer 40k.I don't think we can truly conclude what Chris Chan would do with knowledge of 40k. Even the surface level of it before the more obscure stuff by normie standards. We can only guess and provide autistic evidence to why.Especially when Chris Chan factors in his Dimensional Merge stuff assuming he is still all about that delusion. It would have led to funny stuff if Chris Chan got into Warhammer 40k stuff to be honest.
>>97879568There's always the chance someone could get him into it now, but I wouldn't be surprised if he knows of it already and just isn't interested because it's not overly saccharine/stereotypically girly like most of the media he's used to.
>>97879578>There's always the chance someone could get him into it nowI'm not gonna be that guy that does that.I just observe from a distance. >wouldn't be surprised if he knows of it already and just isn't interestedThat might be the case at best. >because it's not overly saccharine/stereotypically girly like most of the media he's used to.That might be the biggest reason, but it probably contradicts his whole thing about all fictional media merging with our reality into one.40k might stress him out a lot.But there's lots of media franchises with 40k levels of fluff. It would have been funny seeing his self insert and his OCs interacting with the 40k universe drawn in his style if he ever started up his comics again.

What's so bad about the 10th edition? Don't give me any of the vague shit like "it feels like a vidya" or "it's a GW's take on e-sport". Please name the exact design flaws, balance issues and poorly written rules that make this edition bad in your opinion.
>>97879773>>97879749Lmao what a fag
>>97880021good things>detachment allows for both narrative driven fluff armies and generically strong armies>fairly balanced with only a few outliers>terrain rules are fair>models are high quality>allow for a lot of fluffy list building because rule of 3 lets you pretty much take whatever you want>toughness scaling up infinitely instead of being locked to 10 allows for a lot more granular math that allows for better balancing (in theory, GW missed the mark without a lot of weapons just never being strong enough to consistently damage rhinos like meltas)>crusade rules are great and they make a ton of really cool crusade booksbad things>lack of wargear cost means units are balanced around their best scenario which ruins them for casual players>terrain rules are boring>certain classes of units are deliberately sabotaged because they can't get away with deleting them from the game without massive outrage (flyers, forge world kits)>box locking units and schizo loadout kill teams>rule of 3 means waacfags can take whatever they want>game is exceptionally "board gamey" and less of a war RPG than previous editions>it is the age of full corporate name shittification. everything that isnt a primaris exshitbliterator 1000(TM)(R) has to be pushed down to be artificially weaker so primaris can look cool because they are 70% of total sales.
>>978800728e was the last edition with the wargear cost and points-per-model, right? Would you say 8th edition was better in general?
>>978800839th had both of those things still too. As for which edition is better it depends a lot on personal taste. Those editions were janky in their own right, especially as Codexes started releasing and cranking up the power level arms race.
>>978800838E was so badly balanced it was less fun over all. Casual 40k has always been better in general. It was a MASSIVE step up from 7th, however, which was the worst edition by far. 9th was basically refined 8th and thus is better than 8th. 9th had wargear and PPM, and was more similar to older 40k than 10th is.Personally I find 10th to be fun because its what people are playing, and playing 10th is better than fantasizing about playing 9th or 6th or 3rd or something.

With the support keyword we could have heavy weapons teams attaching to infantry units again. The 9th edition megablob of 20 man infantry squads, three heavy weapon teams and a command squad could be a thing again.

They removed warlord traits and relics so character customization is almost nonexistant. No FOC and no points have made list building very bland and boring even if detachments are a good idea. >>97880199>4-Inch 6.55-Feet Long(200cm)Dryer Vent Hose, Thickened aluminium foil flexible5 dollars>any fan>a cardboard boxIve done this many times, I live in a NYC studio apartment. it definitely works. Just smelling paint is not going to harm you, the actual fumes WILL be pulled out because of the box shape which makes negative pressure. Air will be PULLED from the room to fill the light vacuum pressure in the box which in turn pulls air from outside your apartment.
>>97880223Ah yes sorry what I meant is I can't be arsed getting a vent hose
>>97880220It doesn't really change anything aside from letting GW sell more terrain.
i wonder how indirect fire will work with the new terrain rules
>>97880196Perhaps, but since attaching stuff to other units is no longer only for leaders they could use it in other ways through the support keyword.

>>9788023510th is this way because terrain rules for anythin that isn't ruins suck balls. In 11th all terrain have the same rules so it allows more variety. 9th wasn't as ruins intensive as 10th for the same reason.

>>97880100>Personally I find 10th to be fun because its what people are playing, and playing 10th is better than fantasizing about playing 9th or 6th or 3rd or something. My situation is quite unusual because I don't even have a proper 40k community in the area I moved to 2 years ago. Hobby friends I made here since then are 40k secondaries but they want to play the game badly. We sat down and paged through old rulebooks but they were quite clear they have no interest in the older editions, both because of the rules complexity and their armies being mostly post-8e stuff. My idea was to pick one of the "modern" editions (8e, 9e or 10e) and brew up a battle bible for that edition since Wahapedia makes it much easier.>Inb4 11e is just around the cornerYes I know we can just wait till the 11th edition release but there is no guarantee the new edition will be any better. On top of that, having a game that will not be updated or errated anymore is nice because you always have something to come back to whenever the current edition sucks. Would you say that the 9th edition was good enough for you to keep playing it if you were guaranteed to have someone to play it with? This is pretty much my situation.

>Humans had AI and then the Men of Iron rebellion happend making the Imperium a Dune-verse in spirit with techSo um why aren't there alien/xenos AI?Eldar had the Fall and maybe lost the tech or interest and deldar cbf making it. But TAu going all in on drone warfare, when thats the new kind of warfare we have we could have AI be the next Tau advancement. The Hivemind for the Tyranids is essentially a biological artifical intelligence wiith each bio-construct/flesh robot interfacing with the main intelligence. >>97881252Victorian Miniatures Victorian Guard(or other Praetotian based Guard) painted white with bits of gold if you just want them to be British, though that doesn't match the Tea Party mob uniform. Maybe the Tiny Legend Trench Infantry bodies with berat heads and space Garand guns? Painted white again of course. The double breasted botton coats are similar to the Tea Party uniform. You'd have to mold the capelet and neckerchief with greenstuff yourself. Berats for officers and Brodie helmets for regular guard might make them read more obviously as British. https://tinylegend.eu/products/infantry-running-bodies

They aren't going to risk their lives for anything, especially not out of pride for being called a coward by slaves who are forced to die or brainwashed into dying for the Imperium. They do whatever they want and will not be convinced to lay down their own lives for anything, because they have no values or ideals.

It's better to not antagonize him because he is physically incapable of 'getting it' and will keep trying to figure out how to come back endlessly.

>>97882560SWs have been mocked for being the furfag chapter since furfag became a term on the internet.
>>97882440They got horribly flanderized for decades and only started to recover a bit after GW made the SW primaris refresh.Only for it to all come back crashing down when Decalmutant showed up, started his years long retardation and then on has basically almost irreversibly dirtied their image again. Which has made everyone here heavily dislike SW just by association.
>>978824405th edition ruined them and blood angels
>>97882487nigger, 8th ed was one of their least offensive editions in terms of minis.
I now have two tarellians after beginning my plan to assemble a team and run them as traitor guard and chaos dogs. Been thinking though, Ambull has the same number of eyes as a Barghesi. Could porbably get one of those and run it as a spawn Barghesi/mutated barghesi/adult barghesi, after removing the bug parts.
>>97882487>8th edI think you mean like 4-7th editions.
>>97882440I never cared for the viking trope. Also in terms of savage mongels white scars MOG the fuck out of them.
>>97882620my bad, I was thinking of 7th edition with the wolf sled and wulfen. >>97882627I don’t personally like them, but I’d say the 5th edition releases weren’t necessarily bad. they shoved in a shit ton of literal wolves, but if you liked the idea of space marines having dog companions it wasn’t egregious, and the old blood claws, terminators, and grey hunters didn’t look too bad either.

>>97882869does it have a miniature black hole generator or whatever as well?
>>97882747Peter Fehervari is easily the best. He actually captures the sick surrealist fever dream quality of 40k that no one else can or that everyone else has forgotten, and for that alone he mogs everybody. Chris Wraight is probably second best. Dan Abnett is very good when it isn't Horus Heresy. William King is good but most of his works are quite old now. Gav Thorpe can be pretty good when he's not writing Eldar.Worst is... frankly a lot of people. Mike Brooks, Guy Haley, Darius Hinks all suck absolute dick. ADB is in the weird position of being a good writer mechanically but conceptually all of his stuff reeks of cringe. Graham Mcneill is mid, he doesn't really belong in this list with the others mentioned but he's not really good enough to be in the first group either. That's as much as I can remember off the top of my head.
>>97882869>>97882881
>>97882884>Gav Thorpe can be pretty good when he's not writing EldarSo is that Votann book he wrote any good?
>>97882884>Peter Fehervari I’ve seen him get his meat ridden on a lot, so I think I’ll try him out. Are there any good first books of his, or is it purely just by whatever sounds cool?
>>97882920No idea, I haven't read it.>>97882923His entire body of work in 40k is something called the Dark Coil which is all esoterically interconnected through time-travel Warp bullshit, so there's no correct reading order. Just grab what appeals to you. He's got stuff featuring Guard, Sisters, Genestealer Cults, Tau, a bit of Marines, Mechanicus, and a few others.
>>97882938yeah but.. is 40k time travel closed loop or multiverse?
>>97882990Both and neither. Contradictory time streams can exist within the warp and collapse independently into reality
>>97882990Closed loop.
>>97883000Nah, every single 40k time travel story I've ever read has been closed loop. It's possible a couple authors have done it differently but I have not come across them.

Rule wise what has 40k done in 10th edition that was objectively good for the game
>>97882440They're comparatively hipster with all the original gear and units but the overdose on wolf's a common reason.
>>97883245Make leaders attach to units again instead of just having auras and potentially getting split up on every charge or having to run alongside transports.
>>97883251my only annoyance is that you can't join units with leaders if thier original unit is destroyed.

>>97883341If you had some other friends to split it up with and start together it could be good, but it's just a taste of every army which if you just starting probably isn't what you want.Do you have an army that you're interested in?
One more question if I may, is their any rules in casual play that would prevent me from running a half leviathan/half kraken nid narmy?I know lore wise the fleets dont tend to mix much but I was wondering if I would lose any army rules.
>>97883406You can use any detachment you want, paint scheme doesn't determine army rules anymore.
>>97883399I like both sidest. have a raider NL warband and a WB cult army
>>97883406on just a painting level, no.At the moment rules wise you can only run 1 detachment, but no hivefleet is locked to those, but in 11th you'll be able to take multiple detachments so if you're wanting to paint to different hive fleets it could be a good way to differentiate between which models are using which detachment rules.

What is the point of highlighting literally every edge on a model like the ones in GW model photos? What is that even representing? Surely it should just be highlights from one angle, like from the top only?
