The Leman Russ Punisher tank.
It is just silly but to me it is silly in a heavy metal cool way with it's big minigun turret.
I will field it. Just because it looks cool.
As the tank commander or knight commander if that unit is gonna make it to the next edition.

Khan will return but he has Vect's helmet and his decapitated but alive head as trophy, alive so he can't be ressurrected.
The head is hanging on a belt by Vect's own hair where it is continually hitting into armor plates, and it doesn't matter if he takes heavy damage, the head can't die due Homonculi being funny like that.
Rest of Vects body was then in turn melted into Jaghatai's new sword, the sword is made of metal but vect's body is still alive within it, giving it a badass dark aura that lets the Khan cut through anything.

Also Khan's new model is a dual model with Lelith, and you get options to build Lelith sitting on Khan's shoulder or walking alongside charging into battle.

I think it is a bit of a "miracle" that Chris Chan never found out about Warhammer 40k.
I don't think we can truly conclude what Chris Chan would do with knowledge of 40k. Even the surface level of it before the more obscure stuff by normie standards.
We can only guess and provide autistic evidence to why.
Especially when Chris Chan factors in his Dimensional Merge stuff assuming he is still all about that delusion.

It would have led to funny stuff if Chris Chan got into Warhammer 40k stuff to be honest.

>There's always the chance someone could get him into it now
I'm not gonna be that guy that does that.
I just observe from a distance.
>wouldn't be surprised if he knows of it already and just isn't interested
That might be the case at best.
>because it's not overly saccharine/stereotypically girly like most of the media he's used to.
That might be the biggest reason, but it probably contradicts his whole thing about all fictional media merging with our reality into one.
40k might stress him out a lot.
But there's lots of media franchises with 40k levels of fluff.

It would have been funny seeing his self insert and his OCs interacting with the 40k universe drawn in his style if he ever started up his comics again.

What's so bad about the 10th edition? Don't give me any of the vague shit like "it feels like a vidya" or "it's a GW's take on e-sport". Please name the exact design flaws, balance issues and poorly written rules that make this edition bad in your opinion.
>>
>>97879773
>>97879749

>>
>>97880021
good things
>detachment allows for both narrative driven fluff armies and generically strong armies
>fairly balanced with only a few outliers
>terrain rules are fair
>models are high quality
>allow for a lot of fluffy list building because rule of 3 lets you pretty much take whatever you want
>toughness scaling up infinitely instead of being locked to 10 allows for a lot more granular math that allows for better balancing (in theory, GW missed the mark without a lot of weapons just never being strong enough to consistently damage rhinos like meltas)
>crusade rules are great and they make a ton of really cool crusade books

bad things
>lack of wargear cost means units are balanced around their best scenario which ruins them for casual players
>terrain rules are boring
>certain classes of units are deliberately sabotaged because they can't get away with deleting them from the game without massive outrage (flyers, forge world kits)
>box locking units and schizo loadout kill teams
>rule of 3 means waacfags can take whatever they want
>game is exceptionally "board gamey" and less of a war RPG than previous editions
>it is the age of full corporate name shittification. everything that isnt a primaris exshitbliterator 1000(TM)(R) has to be pushed down to be artificially weaker so primaris can look cool because they are 70% of total sales.
>>
>>97880072
8e was the last edition with the wargear cost and points-per-model, right? Would you say 8th edition was better in general?
>>
>>97880083
9th had both of those things still too. As for which edition is better it depends a lot on personal taste. Those editions were janky in their own right, especially as Codexes started releasing and cranking up the power level arms race.
>>
>>97880083
8E was so badly balanced it was less fun over all. Casual 40k has always been better in general. It was a MASSIVE step up from 7th, however, which was the worst edition by far. 9th was basically refined 8th and thus is better than 8th. 9th had wargear and PPM, and was more similar to older 40k than 10th is.

Personally I find 10th to be fun because its what people are playing, and playing 10th is better than fantasizing about playing 9th or 6th or 3rd or something.

They copied AoS style datasheets, unit abilities and points. Terrain rule suck and have made every table an L shaped ruin nightmare. They removed warlord traits and relics so character customization is almost nonexistant. No FOC and no points have made list building very bland and boring even if detachments are a good idea. USRs have been mishandled and underutilized. Stratagems are still a plague to the game still.

Ive done this many times, I live in a NYC studio apartment. it definitely works. Just smelling paint is not going to harm you, the actual fumes WILL be pulled out because of the box shape which makes negative pressure. Air will be PULLED from the room to fill the light vacuum pressure in the box which in turn pulls air from outside your apartment.

>Personally I find 10th to be fun because its what people are playing, and playing 10th is better than fantasizing about playing 9th or 6th or 3rd or something.
My situation is quite unusual because I don't even have a proper 40k community in the area I moved to 2 years ago. Hobby friends I made here since then are 40k secondaries but they want to play the game badly. We sat down and paged through old rulebooks but they were quite clear they have no interest in the older editions, both because of the rules complexity and their armies being mostly post-8e stuff. My idea was to pick one of the "modern" editions (8e, 9e or 10e) and brew up a battle bible for that edition since Wahapedia makes it much easier.
>Inb4 11e is just around the corner
Yes I know we can just wait till the 11th edition release but there is no guarantee the new edition will be any better. On top of that, having a game that will not be updated or errated anymore is nice because you always have something to come back to whenever the current edition sucks.

Would you say that the 9th edition was good enough for you to keep playing it if you were guaranteed to have someone to play it with? This is pretty much my situation.

9th is pretty fun, yea. 10th is a lot simpler for new players imo but thats just my 2 cents. 9th was really good if you are autistic about diving into multiple supplements for your rules. 10th has done a pretty good job of consolidating rules into the codex, then all the patches and additional free rules into a free downloadable packet on warhamcom.

>Humans had AI and then the Men of Iron rebellion happend making the Imperium a Dune-verse in spirit with tech
So um why aren't there alien/xenos AI?
Eldar had the Fall and maybe lost the tech or interest and deldar cbf making it. But TAu going all in on drone warfare, when thats the new kind of warfare we have we could have AI be the next Tau advancement. The Hivemind for the Tyranids is essentially a biological artifical intelligence wiith each bio-construct/flesh robot interfacing with the main intelligence. Darkmech should be ALL in on bringing back the DAOT stuff with extra daemons since thet rebelled aganist Mars dogma to do shit like that.
Where are the AI's in 40K?

Eldar use the ghosts of their dead people instead of AI, its just a preference I assume they could make AI if they wanted. It functions the same though, big thinking robots.

Tau DO use AI extensively, the drones are AI if you actually read the fluff.

Necron use AI extensively.
>>
>>97880536
>Tau DO use AI extensively, the drones are AI if you actually read the fluff.
But thats like drone targetting AI, not like AI AI that runs society or becomes self aware and replicates more machines under its control like skynet or or something.
>Necrons use AI
I didn't even consider this. Technically after the bio-transference they're all AI aren't they? The only living thing around them are the sharded C'tan, which are a very different form of life.
>>
I really wish khadrons were cross playable between Aos and 40k. I love boats, I’d get into drukhari in the meanwhile but I genuinely do not know what’s going on with that range. Them getting nothing but pity characters is nothing short but questionable.
>>
>>97880536
I liked the initial focus of Tau AI being essentially copies of individuals who gave great service to the Tau Empire. So instead of being a completely unshackled and potentially rampant AI you get the abilities of an AI controlled by the personality of a reliable individual. It seemed like a Good work around that even the Mechanicus itself would be fine with

I prefer it that way because it's more tragic, but some sources say that they have a bit of soul left which just makes the C'tan sound like they did a sloppy job (on top of raising the question of what "a little soul" means). Canoptek stuff is also usually AI but some have been said to use the personality engrams of Necronty's pet animals.

Victorian Miniatures Victorian Guard(or other Praetotian based Guard) painted white with bits of gold if you just want them to be British, though that doesn't match the Tea Party mob uniform.

Maybe the Tiny Legend Trench Infantry bodies with berat heads and space Garand guns? Painted white again of course. The double breasted botton coats are similar to the Tea Party uniform. You'd have to mold the capelet and neckerchief with greenstuff yourself.
Berats for officers and Brodie helmets for regular guard might make them read more obviously as British.

Night lords care about nothing but themselves, the word "cowardice" doesn't mean anything to them. They aren't going to risk their lives for anything, especially not out of pride for being called a coward by slaves who are forced to die or brainwashed into dying for the Imperium. They do whatever they want and will not be convinced to lay down their own lives for anything, because they have no values or ideals.

Anvil Industries also makes female greatcoat Infantry bits, that's probably the closest you're getting to the Tea Party mob uniform with two sets of bottons and a skirt while still being appropriate for Guard.

These JTF designs exists on purple site but they're kinda basic as is:

How are they outclassed by emps children? The Night Lords have literally had some of the best duelists out of every legion. They've won battles when faced with equal opponents. They're pragmatic, they fight with efficiency and don't care for honour. They can and have fought large traditonal wars plenty of times in the past.
Read the Night Lords Omnibus, those books will sell you on them.

The pink needs to be toned down a little bit imo, and you should try to incorporate the transition to a very light blue in the pink armor panels as well(good luck without an airbrush).
The lower armor panels having a starry sky pattern would also be fitting. Maybe change the purple panels to the blue of Mika's ribbons? Mika is meant to look celestial and this Knight isn't quite that yet.

If you want to go big learn to freehand and do an Archangel Michael with a flaming sword on a shoulder armor panel, but that's a big ask.

>White Armor plating with a pale gold for the trim

Lost and the Damned is more likely since they already have all the components of an army core before either being fleshed into a full subfaction or separate army.
>Kill Team Farstalkers and Corsairs
Eldritch raiders subfaction and Kroot kinband subfaction
>agents of the imperium
Currently CSM are like "Agents of Chaos" because they have a bunch of shit that isn't CSM clogging up the works

Kill Team Blooded, Kill Team Fellgors, Traitor Enforcer etc. the Traitor Guard and Mutants already have all the pieces there they need to become a full army. Throw in a Tarellian and Barghesi mercenary force for them and you've got plenty of lost and damned.

Dark Mech is coming but they need some actual shit first, like the Fabricator-General of Medrengard or something.

Volume 3 and the Tea Party girls specifically frequently have flowers too so don't forget to include those as well. Maybe as a House/Freeblade symbol? Or something on the banner.
Another option is making the base have flowers growing through rubble of a destroyed Imperial Church.

You're magnetizing anyway so this is minor but the Avenger gatling cannon is a better way to represent Mika's Lanchester SMG imo.

buying the box for one army half and selling the other half to someone is pretty common practice. I’d say you’d have trouble selling the ork half off, but given what has been revealed so far, it might genuinely be a 50/50 split on marine and ork sellers.

Surely bursting through a wall to smash you with it's claws is even more thematically cool than just walking over it to shoot you.

speaking as a not-insane person when I get banned from a discord community because one or more members have decided they dislike my presence, I just fuck off and don't do something retarded like resetting my IP or making a new account just to infiltrate them again.

I assume this is how most people normally react, since it would take a lot of effort to build up a new persona nad it's not really worth it since internet communities and fandoms are ephemeral and if I called someone a slur while drinking then well I'm gonna keep drinking on saturdays sooooo.

Ultra autismos like him however don't get the message. It's better to not antagonize him because he is physically incapable of 'getting it' and will keep trying to figure out how to come back endlessly.

SWs have been mocked for being the furfag chapter since furfag became a term on the internet.
>>
>>97882440
They got horribly flanderized for decades and only started to recover a bit after GW made the SW primaris refresh.
Only for it to all come back crashing down when Decalmutant showed up, started his years long retardation and then on has basically almost irreversibly dirtied their image again. Which has made everyone here heavily dislike SW just by association.

5th edition ruined them and blood angels
>>
>>97882487
nigger, 8th ed was one of their least offensive editions in terms of minis.

I now have two tarellians after beginning my plan to assemble a team and run them as traitor guard and chaos dogs. Been thinking though, Ambull has the same number of eyes as a Barghesi. Could porbably get one of those and run it as a spawn Barghesi/mutated barghesi/adult barghesi, after removing the bug parts.
>>

I think you mean like 4-7th editions.

my bad, I was thinking of 7th edition with the wolf sled and wulfen.
>>97882627
I don’t personally like them, but I’d say the 5th edition releases weren’t necessarily bad. they shoved in a shit ton of literal wolves, but if you liked the idea of space marines having dog companions it wasn’t egregious, and the old blood claws, terminators, and grey hunters didn’t look too bad either.

Peter Fehervari is easily the best. He actually captures the sick surrealist fever dream quality of 40k that no one else can or that everyone else has forgotten, and for that alone he mogs everybody. Chris Wraight is probably second best. Dan Abnett is very good when it isn't Horus Heresy. William King is good but most of his works are quite old now. Gav Thorpe can be pretty good when he's not writing Eldar.

Worst is... frankly a lot of people. Mike Brooks, Guy Haley, Darius Hinks all suck absolute dick. ADB is in the weird position of being a good writer mechanically but conceptually all of his stuff reeks of cringe. Graham Mcneill is mid, he doesn't really belong in this list with the others mentioned but he's not really good enough to be in the first group either.

That's as much as I can remember off the top of my head.

No idea, I haven't read it.

>>97882923
His entire body of work in 40k is something called the Dark Coil which is all esoterically interconnected through time-travel Warp bullshit, so there's no correct reading order. Just grab what appeals to you. He's got stuff featuring Guard, Sisters, Genestealer Cults, Tau, a bit of Marines, Mechanicus, and a few others.
>>
>>97882938
yeah but.. is 40k time travel closed loop or multiverse?
>>
>>97882990
Both and neither. Contradictory time streams can exist within the warp and collapse independently into reality
>>
>>97882990
Closed loop.
>>
>>97883000

Rule wise what has 40k done in 10th edition that was objectively good for the game
>>
>>97882440
They're comparatively hipster with all the original gear and units but the overdose on wolf's a common reason.
>>
>>97883245
Make leaders attach to units again instead of just having auras and potentially getting split up on every charge or having to run alongside transports.

Auras were actually a really good idea and more or less removing them is a bad thing. The absolutely nonsense unit joining rules in 10th on top of units/characters that magically lose their own rules if not attached to each other are full retard.

One more question if I may, is their any rules in casual play that would prevent me from running a half leviathan/half kraken nid narmy?

I know lore wise the fleets dont tend to mix much but I was wondering if I would lose any army rules.
>>
>>97883406
You can use any detachment you want, paint scheme doesn't determine army rules anymore.
>>
>>97883399
I like both sides

t. have a raider NL warband and a WB cult army
>>
>>97883406
on just a painting level, no.
At the moment rules wise you can only run 1 detachment, but no hivefleet is locked to those, but in 11th you'll be able to take multiple detachments so if you're wanting to paint to different hive fleets it could be a good way to differentiate between which models are using which detachment rules.
