Yeah, it'd be real neat if someone were to make a tabletop game about werewolves. And it'd be really cool if they were an enemy type in DnD too.

I've become enamored with the idea of a sci-fi sort of werewolf where they step into special armor that makes them more monstrous and influences them to give in to feelings of wanting to wear it and do all sorts of evil things in it.

Part of the phase I feel where monsters should truly be monsters and unrepentent about it.
>>
>>97902733
Could work, not unlike Berserk's armor. Make the enemy monstrous enough, and those willing to risk their lives and sanity by donning the armor would become heroes worthwhile of stories.

Heck, part of the challenge could be not to tap into the armor's power too much. Gauge the opponent and only give the armor one more notch of power if you absolutely need to.

Do so too late and you risk serious injury, which means short term survival would require EVEN MORE abandon than if you hag gauged right.

The wearer would have an implanted system into their minds to allow them to interface with the suit. It's built in AI would be used to help process information and also "Subtly" encourage and suppress behavior to improve combat effiency.

This would become a "voice" that gradually assumes some of the darker thoughts of the user and encourage them to indulge in those dark thoughts while wearing the armor until the user fully gives in.

I was thinking there should be a biological component to the armor so you can pull Eva 01 and eat while wearing it.

I've been looking for an STL variant that looks close enough because I don't trust Mantic resin, but I haven't found anything of a similar pose and level of detail that isn't over-designed on myminifactory. Not sure about cults3d.

What >>97903213 anon said. 'Roid rage, plus something psychoactive to reduce inhibition and up the aggression. Add an exoskeleton for sturdiness.

For the more twisted angle, consider oxytocin injectors that "reward" kills by the user, and electroshock to punish disobedience.
Roll it all up together, and you have one very, VERY fucked-up super-soldier, with a raging boner for tearing people apart.
I'd reserve this for the most extreme of circumstances, or as shock/terror troops dropped behind enemy lines.

Regular mandatory psych eval, veterans of such units either get the bullet, or get put on ice until they're needed, Khan-style.
At this point, they're not people - they're tried and tested, fine-tuned killing machines, with completely degraded personalities.
They exist to hunt, and hunt is their existence. I'd add something like bomb collars, set to blow up when they leave the deployment area, too.

Splicers RPG, if you're up for using the Palladium/Rifts system, is made for this. Multiple personality Skynet has wiped out most of humanity and a nanite plague makes touching metal a lethal gamble. So now the remaining Great Houses have a knight/samurai caste who wear Host Armors into battle. These are genetically engineered Guyver style biosuits you can customize from the ground up, with their own instincts and metabolism. The pilot is neurologically bonded to the suit while wearing it, allowing full control of the systems but allowing some of those instincts and desires to feed back through. While much of the art is Guyver inspired, you can easily take a carnivore metabolism, enhanced senses, cold resistance, claws and regeneration to start with for a wearable werewolf. Other options include War Mounts if you wish to ride a giant wolf, and a Packmaster for a less customized host armor in exchange for a pack of Gorehounds, oversized custom engineered canines to assist you in battle, tracking, or whatever else you engineer them for.

Diseased, sickly-looking werewolves are best werewolves.
Also, WtA and WtF sucks. Werewolves should be tragic monsters, innocent people turned into serial killers against their will. Making them eco-terrorists or spirit border patrol is stupid.

Almost all werewolf the apocalypse werewolves are tragic monsters that killed family members and eventually spiraled into a suicidal depression. The warrior ethos is also supposed to be a flimsy cover for their derangements and sadism.

I've never liked the full moon thing; I've always liked either being always half man, half wolf, or being able to willingly transform.
I also don't like the traditional idea that being bit by a werewolf makes someone else a werewolf.

I feel in works that allow willful transformation, lycanthropy is more of a spiritual thing, while in works that feature wolfmen, it makes them inherently monstrous.

Weirdly Deviant: The Renegades is a lot closer to my ideal Werewolf game.
Basically what I want is something like the Incredible Hulk tv show. You’re a cursed person on the run from hunters trying to kill you, always on the search for a cure and keeping in mind that you WILL lose control at some point and people WILL get hurt when you do.

What about vampires, what do werewolves think of them, and vice versa? Can a werewolf be turned by a vampire, or a vampire infected by lycanthropy? And who’s more likely to win in a fight?

I prefer it where werewolves are physically superior to vampires. Makes it a more event fight. Werewolves have the strength and speed, but vampires keep their intelligence and have more strange abilities like shapeshifting and whatnot.

That's why you run a Children of Gaia, Glass Walker or Bone Gnawer campaign and see the wicked shit the Wyrm and the Weaver are doing in the cities.
Or you go all the way out into the deeps of the Umbra or deal with corrupt Wyldlings.

WoDs newist edition of werewolf has not been good at all. WtA in general never gained that much traction in popular pop culture as many people don't like the shamanist primal warrior aspect that it chose to portray them as. General pop culture still has them mostly just a victim who turns into a monster every month/night. The American Werewolf in London deal.

Shame, werewolfs are pretty cool and you can spin a hell of a lot of themes and stories out of them .

Yeah this is the unfortunate stuff really. WoD is horny but it's not really meant to be goonbait when you read about very weird sex stuff (outside of the ones written by actual coomers) but that's WoD in general. I guess that's mostly a thing about werewolf art is that ideally you'd toe the line between some hypermasculine power fantasy and actually presenting something that's an actual monster. Unfortunately there's a horny fantasy for the entire spectrum, but eh, that's modernity.

>>97935840
It depends what you're going for, if you want sentient beefy murder machine tanks, muscular and more humanoid with actual muscle groups (like a Baki character but furry and less exaggerated) like what Earthblood did is pretty good. Maybe Earthblood was modelled with one hand a bit too obviously though.

If you want the more victim-ish feral werewolves have them be kind of a man devolved into a wolf, man-sized or a bit bigger, probably give them that type of spinal curve that makes your back hurt, make them lean and sinewy like a dog underneath the pelt. Pelt is optional on the last one. I feel like you could apply either for both types of werewolves but you really do yourself a disservice to the themes if your furry human is a mindless beast and your curved hairless dog is communicating in sign language. But that can make the game more bizarre and it'd be neat, like with the video game weird west.

What kind of prefer werewolf transformation you guys like?, like the type that they suddenly change to stuff like seeing the full moon for example or the howling of wolves in some cases or when the person is in grave danger and is about to get killed OR being able to control their transformation at will and able to at least control their blood lust urges to some extent so they don't tear up those they consider their friends

I like a mixture of both with newer werewolves just turn at random at the most slightest of things while more older and experience werewolves have some manner of control but can still turn at random if the conditions are right

yes, monsters need to adapt to changes in culture and while many have successfully done so, werewolves haven't.
for as cool as werewolves are the whole "turns into a rampaging abomination once a month" would be considered a manageable condition these days. so outside of stories focused on the initial shock of being a werewolf there just aren't that many stories to be told with the creature.
you could alter how werewolves operate in your story but then the question seems "why stick to wolves?" wolves aren't considered scary these days, not like they used to at least, and it limits what you can do with your monster if you have to keep things wolf themed. ad when you remove the wolf part of werewolves you end up with creatures that just aren't werewolves

Nosferatu's washed out color grading doesn't do it any favor and judging from what i have been seeing from the clips, it is another super slow paced horror film with nothing happening until the last 10 minutes. I think it is interesting because the stories usually imply that those old werewolves were not your average wild animals, they posesses abnormal strength, gigantic size and mystical qualities. The anthro werewolf design in general was actually borrowed from the Big Bad Wolf in Red Ridinghood story lol. This guy could wear clothes and assume a human-like posture. The Chewbacca werewolf arrived to the game pretty late.
