I think the dystopic angle on the Echoverse is a bit trite. I think I'd prefer it if it weren't so obviously evil. It's a fun concept and the sort of thing they could revisit in years to come, but the way sets are designed these days I'm assuming it's going to be one-and-done and the same month they release lore about how Jace made this universe, he will be defeated and it will be destroyed. Maybe a few characters from it will escape

Since the alternate universe gets unmade at the end of the narrative, having too much good there ends up being really fucked up.

And, from a flavor perspective, it’s bland and homogenizing if it coexists with the real multiverse. No decisions matter, since we have a backup multiverse in which the opposite choices were made, and every character has to either get a duplicate or have an explanation as to why they don’t. It doesn’t add anything interesting, but comes with a significant overhead cost and a cheapening of whatever conflicts might exist.
