Got this bad boy as a Christmas gift today and so far, I think it's pretty sick. Haven't opened him yet but despite it not being mainline Bowser, the heftiness and detailing is awesome. Also just like the more menacing design compared to his main counterpart. How would you rank him amongst the other Bowser figures, /toy/? Post/discuss other Super Mario toys too and Merry Christmas!
>>11661811Dude I loved these. In Canada they were given out at Shell gas stations I think? There was a TV commercial where it was like the first stage of SMB but the flag at the end was the shell logo. I buged my parents to go there and get me some. The year 1989 is legit because from my life history I can tell that's the year the commercial would have been running.Shit dude wow that picture blew my mind. I am going to collect these now.
>>11662886Cool. I always enjoy a toy with chompy mouth action.
>>11662886Nice
>>11658837It scales better with the mainline Mario. As for giga Bowser, the new 13" tall one is kinda that...
>>11664749Costco Bowser is just a bigger Jakks, but Movie Bowser has height, face and detailing that makes it more what Giga represents
Happy New Year anons. I picked up this horse figure a few weeks ago in a loose fig bin specifically for this character and buddy of mine wants to do the same but I can't ID it. It's a 1/12 scale and has a hidden button on the rear left thigh for galloping action. I'm pretty sure its not a yotijay or any version of Shadowfax that I can find. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

>>11666035>whyI'll start with the first 10 minutes or however long it wasbullseye's costume looks like shit, he would've been better off wearing actual generic tactical gear with a bunch of knives sheathed on it and a black balaclava instead of a weird purple pajama getupinstead of a stunt man running around on rooftops, daredevil's introduction in the season is garbage CGI of him swinging aroundthen they fight, which was kind of okay, but then starts having a bunch of CGI in it towards the endalso bullseye's plan to escape was to ask to be a snitch to get into protective custody because he's a former fed and then goad matt into punching him so he could loose a tooth and later use that as a weapon to escape, that was super gayhe should've been attacked by a bunch of in inmates, then semi-effortlessly killed them all and then be put in solitary, THEN he could have a gay meeting with matt to get out of solitary so he could get punched in the face by a superhero and THEN escape using his loose tooth as a weaponalso there was a scene where we're supposed to feel bad for a black guy who stole a box of honeybuns or something and didn't want to admit it was wrongalso muse was only in it for like 5 minutesthere's also a lot of other smaller issues but it's been almost a year since I watched it, and I know a lot of the problems are from the show being halfway filmed and they restarted because it was so bad, but it still led to the worst season of the four it was about as lame as the Defenders
>>11666044I hate that they never explain why matt decides to save fisk, and why fisk wants to kill him in return. They better explain that thing in the next season
>>11665727Like when? Pre-pandemic?
>>11666175the whole "season" is unfocused shit with like 10 different "main" plotlines and no real overall narrative tying things togetherit's about matt not being daredevil and then it's about muse and then it's about bullseye and then it's about a dumb bank heist and then it's about the fucking punisher I don't really get the logistics of spending like 3 and half years in production and only ending up with less than 10 episodes, even with a big reset with new showr unners, part of it was disney wanting to rush it out the door for some reason, and then regardless of quality it flopped in view numbers

ITT: Official toys that reference other IPs
Imaginext was on fire towards the end. All of those blind bags series were incredible. It was one of my favourite things to collect and I was reduced to finding Krogers or Publix that had mini toy sections to find new ones.
With how they were going I was wondering if we were going to see more Battle Beasts or even some Micronauts.
>>11659869both IPs are owned by Sunrise/Bandai so it's not the same as the other examples in this thread

>>11665065So is Brawl the leader of the Combaticons in Cybertron game universe?>>11665077for me it would come down to articulation.
>>11665084That's just the size they are from the game because of how their vehicle modes slot into the class system. Brawl had a Tank altmode so he was Titan class and bigger. Vortex and Blastoff were fliers which were all grouped into the Scientist class which were all smaller and less armored. Swindle was actually the same height as Onslaught as Trucks in the Destroyer/leader class.
>>11665084Nah the leader is still Onslaught. They just made Brawl bigger, partly for gameplay reasons since he's the big tanky class.
>>11665084Because he’s taller?lol no
>>11663908Jesus those thighs are THICK

yeah rocco can come off as petulant, terrible at video games, and have some bad opinions, and tweet at joe rogan and then delete his tweets, but overall hes chill and i love his personal channel videos.
didnt mega64 have a begathon because they were going to shut down or something?
>>11664150yeah they did, and then deleted that video which was lame. it would've been good penance and transparency to leave it up
>>11664150you can tell they really don't want to do mega64 anymore but all them have to in order to maintain their current lifestyle. they're essentially just running a t-shirt company that only five people buy from at this point.Derrick is the only one with the balls to actually try to branch out and it mostly failed because he came running right back.

New one's up>>11665155>>11665229You're still confusing shitty distribution in your area for poor sales. A microscope does not make a world-view.>>11665324It's not selling poorly. It's doing fine. It's in no danger of getting cancelled. If Hasbro had a problem with Walmart not shipping it to a lot of stores, then they wouldn't have given Walmart so many exclusives. Their shit still manages to sell even when a lot of stores don't get it at all thanks to their crap distribution which has been a problem SINCE THE LINE BEGAN.>>11665333>We want a new Scrap Iron, but more retarded and annoyingI still don't get why they did that. >>11665398Or you could give it to Bazooka
>>11665536I like how you think Walmart's distribution is stuck in the 1970s. See >>11664755We've known how Walmart handles distribution based on its software deciding which regions and stores are actually able to profit from selling GI Joe Classified. We've known that certain Walmarts will stop carrying a line if it's not profitable since the 00s. People all around the United States have been reporting that their local walmarts no longer carrying GI Joe Classified and these reports have been growing since 2021. You can find links to hundreds of people self reporting here >>11664866> If Hasbro had a problem with Walmart not shipping it to a lot of storesLOL, you have no idea. You're acting like Hasbro is doing WAlmart a favorite, but it's literally the opposite. Walmart has Hasbro by the balls when it comes to ordering shit, hence Hasbro needing to incentivize Walmart into ordering more units by making exclusvies for them.If Walmart has halved orders for the Classified line since 2022, Hasbro is just happy that they order anything at allAgain, we KNOW that Walmart has selectively stopped carrying the GI Joe Classsifed line in many of its stores. You can ignore all the people reporting on this, but it's all catching up with Hasbro now and we've been seeing stores dumping their stock for 4 years straight. And when stores like Amazon/Target/Walmart dump their stock, they're going to order fewer units the next time. So that means 2025 had less stock ordered than 2024, and 2024 had less stock ordered than 2023, and 2023 had less stock ordered than 2022, and 2022 had less stock ordered than 2021...No company will keep a line that continues losing sales like this.Comment too long. >>11656224>>11656226Things are desperate when you have to carve yourself a rifle from a stick and don't have time to finish. Great figures and nice details overall otherwise.
Is anyone else fascinated by toys with this aesthetic? I don't know the exact term but I first remember seeing it in a show called George Shrinks, and it's only recently that I've discovered that toys like that actual exist. Any good or notable toys that look like it?
>>11663942Thanks for the clarification. >>11663994>I won't lie I'd love to see some of these designs made as modern toys- so the source designs kept basically the same, but made in plastic (or die-cast where appropriate) with detail fully sculpted rather than just painted on.Same. I do wonder if you could get the same bright colors and hopeful vibe with paint. though. >That tank in OP would look great as a 1:18th vehicle or something.I agree. >God I love atomic-age art, everything was so bright and optimistic.I wonder what happened between then and Star Wars, which is famous for ts dirty and worn down aesthetic. Do you have any /toy/ related New Years resolutions? Spending limits, completing a set, getting that grail? Share your future goals!
>>11663011It's always the same. I only buy what I like, except I don't think ill be shopping internationally anymore with all these tariff uncertainties
>>11663011>anyI only plan to deaccessioning everything valuable that I don't want - which is quite a bit. It's not really a toy thing because I'm also workign on getting rid of a lot of things. I've actually been lean for the past decade plus because I was in a studio and had no space. Now, I have extra closet space and extra shelves, etc., and it's time to get back and get rid of crap - and that includes more than toys. I already donated a bunch of things to a Vietnam Vet's charity, they even came and picked everything up.Any grails are generally absurdly scalper priced on the secondary market, so I wait for them to fall in my lap. If they do, they do - if they don't, BFD.I apply spending limits and then gift cards falls in my lap. Most incomplete sets I care about are also similarly a grail situation so again, not going to give in to scalpers. When I see people who paid absurd prices this past summer for shit I am finding on deep clearance today, it's funny. Sad but funny.
I want to keep avoiding Super hero stuff. I almost bought marvel legends figures last year but I managed to talk myself out of it. that's a rabbit hole I'm not willing to go down.
I guess I want to spend less and be more selective. I got into imports this year and kinda went overboard and probably got some unnecessary things. Costs are too high now too to be making impulse purchases on random shit.I also want to get some nice shelves with doors that keep dust out. But I am waiting until I get my own place. I can move out whenever I want but I’m saving so much money living with my parents that I can spend on figures that I kinda don’t feel like it right now. I really dislike my current display set up though so idk maybe I should just go ahead and buy new shelves and move them later
>>11663011I'm new to toys so spent a ton this year going from zero to something. So I need to reign that in by figuring out what I actually want. Some stuff I bought and when it arrived I had insta-regret. Others when they arrived were even cooler than I thought.
I'm looking for toys based on real historical figures. What are your favorites?
>>11663452In the late 90s/early 00s there were tons of 1:6 historical figures. Even the bad ones like Hitler.
