This thread feels very disingenuous. Plus we were only on page 4, what gives?
>>
>>11154214
Wait for Mezco
>>
>>11154175
>someone actually bought it
>>
>>11154214
I already did because I had the old striped suit Cult Classics Beetlejuice but never got the wedding suit one back in the day. Haven't set it up in my display yet though. I'm likely moving it to a different shelf because I also got a large wooden sign of carousel Beetlejuice's head from Spirit Halloween and the cartoon PVC figurines from 5 Below and need more space for it all.
>>
>>11154221
Tons of people bought it. What are you talking about?
>>
>>11154446
Did I imagine it or were they releasing a second black dress version with the swappable faceplates tech from the rainbow version?
>>
>>11154456
No, that's very much a thing. It should be out all over. Like I've seen the face swap version at both Target and Wal-Mart all over.
>>
>>11154456
How come neco can release gigantress out of scale premium Elvira with face plates but NOT tearfu’ houn’ something doesn’t add up here
>>
>>11154464
How come you can't use your brain?
>>
>>11154464
Elvira is a standard body that can be re-used over and over, cutting down on costs, the face plates aren't even a feature that happened until three figures in. Cryin' Houn' is a fucking chunk of plastic with only one re-use which we're getting in El Mysterio, he requires 100% new tooling, more paint apps, the -four arms- and a unique torso to handle that setup, and then TMNT licensing.

Elvira is cheaper to make. A child could have figured that out.
>>
>>11154460
Cool, it wasn't a fever dream.
Does the faceplate one have a specific name, like the red dress is called Red, Fright, and Boo? I don't have the luxury of hitting multiple stores and will need to find her online.
>>
>>11154469
so not all face plates are created equal at Neco I take it. The tmnt license is peanuts btw so you and randy have no excuse for weepin’ houn’ being as barebones as he is. It could have been a great figure not just passable

They look good, but I find their choice of Bert and Ernie as the first figures kinda odd, I figured they would’ve had Big Bird, Elmo, or Cookie Monster in the first wave to build hype. We just have to hope these two sell well enough to eventually get the more main, popular characters.
>>
>>11168040
>as the first figures kinda odd
...Seriously? It's Bert and Ernie. There's no more well known "faces" of Sesame Street than Bert and Ernie. Like just the names alone...you could go up to anyone and be like "Bert and Ernie" and they'd know what you're on about. These ARE the main popular characters.

Come on, it's definitely Elmo and Cookie Monster, followed probably by Big Bird. Then probably Grover, Bert, Ernie, Oscar, all probably around the same tier. Then right after that we've got the Count, and others. That's off the top of my head, anyways, maybe there are others I'm forgetting.

What does that have to do with anything? Bert and Ernie are two of the most recognizable characters out of the Jim Henson factory. They're ubiquitous with the "odd couple" trope. You'd actually have to be brain damaged to think they aren't popular.
>>
>>11169473
Jesus Christ, if you would read either you, or someone else was claiming they were THE MOST POPULAR Sesame Street characters because of the rubber ducky song and how it’s the most popular Sesame Street song. That picture was just showing that’s in fact not.
Novody said Bert and Ernie aren’t popular, but as has been said a million times, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, hell even Oscar the Grouch are more popular than Bert and Ernie. It’s just strange that they choose Bert and Ernie as their first choices in both the Toony line and Ultimates line.
>>
>>11169481
>Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, hell even Oscar the Grouch are more popular than Bert and Ernie
But they aren't. That's a factually incorrect statement made by a literal child, apparently.

>It’s just strange that they choose Bert and Ernie as their first choices in both the Toony line and Ultimates line.
There's not a single thing strange about choosing the two most well known characters from Sesame Street as figures for the line. Seriously, are you 12?

Are there any good Dark Crystal figures? Or did the Netflix show getting canceled for being too based hinder that?
>>

>Seriously, are you 12?
Hmm no I’m not, but that’s a good idea. Let’s see what actual kids think about Sesame Street characters.
https://www.weareteachers.com/sesame-street-characters/
>bert tied in 8th place
>ernie tied in 9th place
>Elmo and Cookie Monster tied for 1st place
>>
>>11169492
Oh, so kids are going to be spending $30 on action figures? You were on the short bus, weren't you?
>>
>>11169494
I like Bert and Ernie, but you can’t seriously think that they’re more well known than Elmo and Cookie Monster… it’s just wrong.
>>
>>11169507
You do have to be 18 to post on this board.
>>
>>11169517
Except I am and I remember the Tickle Me Elmo craze in the 90s. One of the most popular, beloved toys of all time. Everyone loved Elmo. Everyone loves Cookie Monster too. People like Bert and Ernie, but you’d be hard pressed to find anyone say they are their favorite character. Check any ranking online and they’re never even in the top 5.
If you really believe in this so much, provide any sort of proof of their popularity, otherwise, it seems like you’re just arguing for the sake of arguing.
>>
bert and ernie are gay lovers
>>
>>11169527
That's great man, Elmo isn't as classic as Bert and Ernie. And trying to claim he is shows how out of touch you are. You're the one arguing for the sake of arguing, trying to claim that Bert and Ernie of all characters, aren't the perfect choice for a line of Sesame Street figures. The proof is they've been around longer than you've been alive and are as popular as ever. They're also the perfect type of character to get made into toys to fit in with the Palisades figures, as intended. You're actually insane.
>>
>>11169531
>trying to claim that Bert and Ernie of all characters, aren't the perfect choice for a line of Sesame Street figures
You’re right they are a perfect choice for the line, I never said they weren’t. I just think it’s strange that they would be the first figures to be released. Usually you release a more popular character in the first wave to entice buyers, but I guess The Count shouldn’t be too far behind and he’s arguably more popular than Bert and Ernie.
After thinking about it more, the true reason I think they chose them to release first is that they have the most humanoid bodies. Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and most of the other cast have bodies that would require intricate sculpting and articulation, whereas Bert and Ernie are just guys in normal clothes.
But anyways, I was never even trying to argue over this, so we can just drop it and move on.
>>
>>11169541
It's not strange at all. They're the most well known and popular characters from Sesame Street. That's why they're in the first wave.
>>
>>11169564
No, he just proved what a moron he was, especially since kids aren't buying these toys.
>>
>>11169492
So why did the Cookie Monster haslab fail? Oh right...
>>
I wish they would ban youtuber discussion threads
>>
>>11169581
Unless it had a pocket vagoo installed and the fur was angora I’m not paying $300 for a muppet plush no matter who the character is. Bert and Ernie would have even fewer backers, guaran-fuckin-teed, understand?
>>
>>11169600
You're wrong
>>
>>11169541
Elmo is clearly the most well known "face". I'm glad he's not Wave 1 but you are completely right, I hope this goes far enough to get stuff like two-headed monster or a huge Snuffy
>>
>>11169859
No, he's completely wrong. For a Sesame Street line, Elmo is not who you want in wave 1. That would be suicide. Even Super7 is ignoring him.

How many talk shows have Bert and/or Ernie been on? How many award ceremonies have they made an appearance? Have they been in the FUCKING WHITE HOUSE? You are out of your goddamn mind thinking they hold a candle to the media presence Elmo has.
>>
>>11169967
Elmo is a fucking cocaine snort and nothing more. Elmo is not what people remember fondly when they think of Sesame Street. Good. Classic. Sesame Street. There's a reason these collector places are ignoring that red faggot.

You may now continue arguing about the popularity of puppets in a tv show for preschoolers.

randy must have the cojones to do dark crystal, labyrinth, and killer klowns and not that tooner terror fukno bullshit. The necallective are crying out for diverse film lines, not more turtles or mulatto trick or treaters

>>
>>11170394
Not really exclusives if they sell them online. What a stupid, shitface company.
>>
>>11171067
How does that not make them exclusives? Are you saying you’d rather them not be sold online and ONLY be available at NYCC? That’s just worse for everyone.
>>
>>11171079
Who gives a fuck about what's worse for who? Exclusive means something. If you name something an event exclusive, and then you don't keep it exclusive to that event, you're flat out a dumb turd of a company. You only defend it because you're too poor to make it to the event and NECA only does this stupid shit because otherwise no one would buy these ugly things. There's nothing exclusive about shit when they do this. It just creates a bunch of stupid crybabies that expect nothing but easy to get general releases.
>>
>>11171079
>How does that not make them exclusives?
what do you think "exclusive" means
>>
>>11171118
what do you think "exclusive" means
>>
>>11171118
It is not a CON exclusive it is a Neca store exclusive
>>
>>11171150
If they were con exclusives, they would only be sold at the con. Beggin’ ya to read a dictionary

you are legitimately retarded huh

>>11171118
>no argument, just name calling.
You have no rebuttal.
>>11171150
If it was a con exclusive it would be sold exclusively at the con. Even the japanese understand this and they got nuked twice.
>>11171182
Please stop lying and bootlicking shitty practices that contradict their own namesake.
You have no ground to stand on. Just because people that can actually afford to go to the event, resell the event items doesn't make them general releases or online exclusive lmao you actually sound brain rotted.
>>
>>11171264
It is sold exclusively at the con. There's non-attendee purchases too, that doesn't make it not a con exclusive.
>>
>>11171169
There isn't a company around that doesn't sell online before and after. They're still con exclusives.
>>
>>11171287

You're quite literally wrong. It's in the name.
>>
>>11171290

Too bad it's not really exclusive and anyone with an internet connection can buy it. Only thing sucking is your life lmao.
>>
>>11171316
Too bad you're always wrong. They're NYCC exclusives. Deal with it.
>>
>>11171318
It’s a marketing scheme by necamutt, misusing the term exclusive to instill FOMO in the necallective. It’s textbook randy.
>>
>>11171280
>It is sold exclusively at the con. There's non-attendee purchases too
times like this make me think you've just been trolling for a decade and not an actual moron
>>
>>11171370
what do you think "exclusive" means
>>

It means the toys were made for NYCC and are being sold there for attendees and sold for non-attendees. The toys exist because of NYCC. Dumbass.

>>11171375
no, what do you think the definition of "exclusive" is? this is a very simple question that you refuse to actually answer.

Not really sure where else to post it, but some new return of the living dead figures. I know there’s several people in here who would be interested in these. I almost wonder if we should have a horror toy general?

These are pretty good exclusives this year. I love the manhole lid with the Mirage commemoration on it.
