Prototypes or test shots are always made of like, cheap resins or plastics. They're almost ALWAYS all glued together in a rush too. It's normal to see touches of hot glue on stuff at cons. They're only there to get the idea of the figure across.
>>
>>11188971
Im one of the seemingly few people that really likes the glove, been waiting for this one. When i first saw the design in the trailer i was sure toy people were gonna love it but it apparently doesn't have too many fans.

my 2002 banpresto shodaigoji arrived today
>>
>>11189518
Love this figure, I have the BW version. Probably my favourite ShodaiGoji sculpt Sakai has ever made.
>>
>>11189553
It's really good, and not that expensive for its size, it costed me 40$ or so on Mercari Japan
>I have the BW version
I could've picked that version up, but it's placed in my living room and the brown contrasts better with the furniture.
I also ordered a Bandai HG Varan for my Destroy All Monsters display, it's in a crawling pose so I might sculpt a new right arm to fix the pose and make it look like it's gliding. Those little tanks you see around are tractors from a Maser Cannon 3D model I made a few months ago, but I've had no luck printing the cannon part correctly yet.

So how shit is Super7s Minus Goji? Worth a pickup just for the sake of a big version of the design that is still articulated? Is it at least on par with the Melty boy?

Dont buy the Minus One, dude. It isnt worth it. If you want an articulated figure, get the SHMA. If you want a larger figure get the Ichibansho statue. The Super7 is genuinly a bad figure that activly damages itself through simple movement because of how shit the quality of the softer plastic used in the arms and tail is and how shit the joints are. The tail has better movement than any previous S7 figure... except that it falls off instantly because the peg is too short to plug in properly. The paint is wildly inconsistent figure to figure and even on indifferent parts of a figure.
The longer I have the figure the more I grow to dislike it.

SHMA has the Minus Color Version coming out soon. Unfortunately the atomic breath version was a lottery event exclusive so we probably won't get that one either, but given how much Bandai milked Shin, I wouldn't be surprised if we get more Minus Goji repaints in the near future.
>Best thing is to wait for the inevitable hiya release
if you want to wait 3 years for a figure with a fantastic sculpt but absolute dogshit plastic then more power to you, but until they do something about their plastic quality, I'm done buying Hiya toys after my Heisei Ghidorah pre-order ships.

>>11191509
>have the SHMA, but I would like something a bit bigger while being posable. Mainly to pair with SoC Kiryu
I get wanting a bigger one, it would have been nice if SHMA had made him as large as the Shin, but the Super7 just ain't worth it, man. I'm happy to have my Super7 Destroyah on my Heisei shelf and I really like my meltdown Godzilla, so it's not like I'm just some whiner who hates Super7 on principle. But simply moving the shoulder and tail joints scrapes the plastic and actively harms them turning them a shade of green. If Super 7 releases a third version that has fixed the shoulders then grab that, but the current figure is not worth it.

It really doesn't make any sense, it would be one thing if it was a company wide censorship push or character protection thing about godzilla but literally less than a year ago they released a whole fucking theatrical film wherein godzilla gets his head blown off graphically on screen, TWICE. Only Destroyah and Biollante are okay size wise with SHMA figures, but that's mostly because those monsters are supposed to be enormous and tower over Godzilla and Super7 didn't make them in scale with the rest of the line, but the Spacegodzilla is not going to look good next to any of your Heisei figures. Its tail looks terrible and it's just too big.

My Ultimates! Blazing Godzilla showed up today. I know a few people here said he'd be horrible, but while his joints were stiff (they've loosened up now that I've flexed them a bit) and you really can't do much with his tail (as someone stated), I actually...really like him. Maybe it's the rose-tinted glasses - he reminds me a lot of an old Godzilla toy I had way back in the 90's, except he has more than 5POA; whatever the case, he does pretty much everything I wanted him to be able to do and looks cool in the process.

Probably just the same derangement any western product experiences on this board. You never see asian companies attract the same dedicated schizos shitting on them. Except that one guy in Warhammer threads that really hates JoyToy.
>>
>>11195850
I try not to post super negatively when i can but I just don't understand the appeal of the concept, i prefer my toys to look as screen accurate and detailed as possible at the price point that they offer their products at. Im not mad about it though because there are plenty of other companies with the license, it would only be worth really complaining about it they were hogging rights or something. I think the seething just comes from the fact that people arent being catered to how they want from every angle that exists, you have to remember that a lot of the posters on this board are genuinely low functioning freaks.

The first toy line as a kid I was seriously invested in was the 2005 Playmates King Kong line. I still have my original Vastatosaurus rex packed away somewhere even though I have both the Rebor and Nanmu V rex statues now. Those nearly 20 year old playmates mass market toys look better than basically anything Super7 has put out and saying, "Well you're too young" doesn't really change that. Yeah, I'm too young to have been around for toys that were already dated when I was a kid.
>They were never meant to compete with SHMA
Their 89 is only 5 bucks cheaper than the SHMA, $10 if you want to compare the atomic breath versions.and the size just isn't enough to justify the price given how much worse it looks. Outside of Destroyah and the Meldown Godzilla, I just don't see any reason to get them when Hiya and SHMA exist. You can say they aren't meant to compete with SHMA, but that doesn't make it true, especially when the Minus One Godzilla does absolutely try and compete with the SHMA and it does it incredibly poorly. Yeah, it's 40 bucks cheaper than the SHMA, but the plastic looks worse, is so low quality that it damages itself just by doing normal posing, and the tail peg is so short that it doesn't properly plug into the body.
I don't want to be rude, and I think the seething that people have for any particular company is absurd and largely driven by the fact that they are either kids or not in a financial position to buy them, but unless the next wave is a massive improvement, I just don't see why anyone would get them over a Hiya or SHMA reissue.
>>
>>11196461
In the end, let people enjoy what they enjoy instead of trying to push opinions on others. I am blessed enough to buy what I like the look of and are not limited to one company so these company wars over figures honestly means nothing to me.

If you don't mind the assembly proccess, the plastic model versions are pretty cool. The articulation is pretty good and they're relatively cheap since it's a model kit, not a complete figure. Also they come with several optional parts that can be assembled and attached separately.

Are you retarded? The plastic quality is great. Has a little bend but not too soft yet tough but not too hard to be easily broken. I’ve dropped some of the Hiya figures on accident, no breaks no cracks no scratches. Literally try to pose the thruster on the Super Mechagodzilla, fucking snaps. You have to actually be retarded to have this opinion. It’s the type of plastic you want for figures like this. If I put pressure on my Hiya Godzillas spine, it doesn’t break and goes back into position, if I do that on my SHMA FW Godzilla, the spine will fucking break. Now tell me which one is of lesser quality when one is less likely to break and can still have deeper details in the mold.

I also hate painting, but the kits look pretty good without any. The one in my pic, I did nothing to except assemble. I didn't even bother with the included decals. Granted, that one is a special edition (the regular version has a more muted color, closer to gray than shiny silver.) But if you did feel like putting in minimal effort on painting, every piece is one solid color so you could make a regular one look the same by just painting the gray parts silver.
I would show a picture of the regular edition, but I'm out if town for work this week. There are also the Evangelion color scheme ones which have more colors on the pieces. Pic is the Eva-02 one that I have for reference. They are more expensive and harder to find though, just due to being out of production and fairly high demand.

I love opening up my Godzilla's so I can guess which one of the tail segments are cracked. I love opening up my skull crawler to find that the gums are cracked and the tail needs to be glued in. I love how easily the paint rubs off the gummy plastic so that as soon as I take my Muto out of the packaging it has a rub on its nose. I have 42 SHMA figures and not a single one of them has broken, I have 8 Hiya figures and 5 have been either broken or had major paint issues right now of the box.
>But the spines don't break if I hamhand my Hiya
are you underage? How roughly are you treating your SHMA figures that you break the Super Mechagodzilla's thrusters?
Hiya uses absolutely dogshit quality cheap plastic that leads to gummy joints, gradual stress fracturing and is generally bad for paint adherence. You have to be a literal child not to understand how low-quality the plastic Hiya uses is.
>>
>>11199736
I can tell that hiya's plastic is clearly not amazing just by feel and my 2019 godzilla had two warped spines out of the box but ive never experienced breakage or paint rubbing, or really even bad joints on the three ive owned, and i've been pretty forceful on both of my godzilla's tails. Is the retailer you're getting them from mishandling them or something? im not trying to sound like a shill but i've never heard of anyone else having such a consistent problem with them.
>>
>>11199736
>broken Mothra wing
I don’t have that issue and I’ve owned it since it released last year and hardly seen others have a issue like yours so it’s clear it’s not a rampant QC issue because it’s fucking not common. So you’re unlucky with your copy.
>all my Godzillas got a cracked tail
Yet none of my copies I own have that issue and I hardly have seen any posts of this problem on all the major social sites. So either you’re super fucking unlucky or you’re a fucking lier
>Skull Crawler gums and tail
The gums are RUBBER, not plastic, and people properly criticized that, as for the tail, that literally had nothing to do with the RUBBER, but the factory not getting enough glue in to keep it flushed. Not a major issue.
>paint rubs off Muto nose and gummy plastic
Faggot, that’s RUBBER, not fucking plastic you autistic child. Rubber is soft you actual dense neanderthal. And yours had a scuff, that sucks, mine doesn’t and not many people reported having that. But it getting a scuff isn't a sign of the quality plastic, it’s how it was loaded in the box and moved about. If you’re telling me you’re taking your thumb and rubbing it off like the spines of that exclusive S7 figure just released, you’re a fucking lier.
> how rough were you with your Super MGs thrusters
Barely put pressure on it and it snapped because Bandai were retarded and cast the joint in CLEAR PLASTIC, which becomes brittle and breaks over time. That’s an objective fact.
You have no fucking clue what you are talking about because you mistake fucking rubber to plastic half the fucking time. You literally go on any social media post, both from big name reviewers to personal accounts where faggots like you post, barely, fucking barely any major QC issues that you seem to contribute, yet you’re literally the only anon here that ever has this issue that seems to be apparent to your autistic ass.
>>
>>11199736
>>11199999
So either you have terrible luck and are actually stupid and contribute QC issues you experience as wide problems that Hiyas plastic quality is crap or you’re a lier and probably a SHMA shill. You’re telling everyone here that you’ve never had one fucking break on a SHMA or the joints just randomly popping off or getting so loose that they just fall and can’t stand? Fuck off, you’re not the only person here that owns most of the SHMA stuff.
>>11199239
Go neck yourself faggot, adults are talking.

>>11200004
replying to yourself is absolutely pathetic man, but as to your asinine
>or the joints just randomly popping off or getting so loose that they just fall and can’t stand?
I never said that at all.
I said they've never broken
I've bitched about the shitty articulation on Jet Jaguar, the loose leg joints that require a coating of clear nail polish on the ankles of Monster X and FW, the fact my the first Kong release has arms that pop off if you look at it funny, the dogshit quality of the degraded head sculpt in these threads. Not being a hopeless Hiyashill doesn't mean I think Bandai is perfect. It also doesn't mean I don't like Hiya. I literally said they have great sculpts, plus I like that they listen to feedback and improve the sculpts between what they show off and what you finally get unlike Bandai, I just want their plastic quality to improve. What is it about Hiya shills that make them behave like literal angry children?

Yeah, it would have been nice to actually pose him in his slam dunk pose, but Super Mechagodzilla, Moguera, Gigan, and Jet Jaguar all got screwed out of their flight stands so I can't really say I'm surprised.

I am surprised by how much retooling they must have done to have his rocket bays move and add the thrusters to his back. I really didn't expect those changes. I thought they might modify the Final battle accessory head that comes with the Even exclusive Kong to make it fit on Giga and paint him red and call it a day, but other than a flight stand they've given him basically every accessory he should come with.

I completely missed the original release for this guy as he first time around, and had been kicking myself for it ever since...until now. Looks like it was fate - already got my preorder in, and I'm thrilled he's got all of these effect parts this time around. Only having the single, open-jawed head is a bit of a bummer, but not really a deal breaker - it's not like I'd be posing him with his mouth shut anyway, since all those parts he comes with were from scenes where his mouth was open anyway.

Are you guy's wallets ready for this weekend?
Also, according to a leaker (who's been legit so far), we'll be getting the following as Movie Monster Series figures next year:
>Godzilla 1965- Yakudou Series-Dancing Pose?-Mid January 2025
>Customized Gigan-Late January 2025.
>Godzilla Millenium Version-2-Late March 2025.
>Godzilla 1971 -Late March 2025.
>Godzilla 2023 Yakudou series-Late March 2025
"yakudou" (躍動) translates to "dynamic", so it sounds like they'll be posed more dynamically.
>>
>>11215973
>Godzilla 1965
Probably the memorial box figure. No way they'd release a pose version before the default unless you're a freak of nature like 74 Mechagodzilla
>Customized Gigan
Okay, but when we getting other FW monsters?
>Godzilla Millenium Version-2
My guess is basically just the the memorial box colors which was based on how the suit looked in Godzilla vs Megaguirus I assume.
>Godzilla 1971
So basically the older 1968 mold with dookie in his eye?
>Godzilla 2023 Yakudou
I think their going to introduce a new statue akin to the one they did for Shin Godzilla (probably going to be located at the Toho theater in kabukicho.) which is exactly what they did with the Shin Godzilla statute when they introduced it.

Only ones that care about is the 65 and customized gigan. Was hoping for something a bit obscure like Fake Godzilla or Kumonga to go with Mechagodzilla and Kamcaraus. But yeah doubt we will ever top last years announcements on Godzilla Day
