>>11200738>Snakes foreverBased. Bringing Snakes to Masterverse might be the only thing that can save the line at this point.>TQIf they are going to be concept sketch figs, you could technically put Stretch Nek in the sub-line to ensure that it is blessed by Serpos. And now that I've angered 90% of the thread, my real answer is Brain Bug and Skiing Yeti.
>>11200738>What else could potentially be sketchbook series figures ?For concept art for pre-existing characters, I wanna say concept Dylamug. For original characters I really want, Wrap Trap, Skiing Yeti, or Mandible Man would be awesome.

I don't know why this came to mind to me last night but a MOTU turn-based RPG would be really dope.
>>11201000Is he not going to come with legs?
>>11201117Oh yeah, just the good ol' main squad. He-Man, Teela, Orko and Man-At-Arms. Maybe like Stratos, Man-E-Faces and Mekaneck as extra members. No idea how they'd do Battle Cat tho.
>>11201259No. The cape, staff, extra armor & weapons replace legs
>>11200822Why did it take so long for someone to figure out to do the tape recorder chest as the battle armor damage for Faker? Also I love the orange/pink combo instead of his armor being one or the other. Thanks to Bret Hart I've always known those colors actually complement each other very well. Mondo knocked this one out of the park.
Forgot to take this pic yesterday, main difference is that classics Demo-man is more of a slut with his mini skirt.
>>11201259You hoped he and Hiss would make together 3 figures?

Anyone know the show Frisky Dingo? I'm getting Xtacles vibes from this Hoard Trooper.
>>11201730Got mine today... he's so fucking light and hollow. I don't normally buy masterverse but man I'm not impressed with it at all. I was expecting a nice solid chunk of plastic like origins are and he feels like one of those 12 inch shampoo bottle figures.

>>11201724what about the Deceptacles? More than you bargain for!
>>11201832Glad I skipped him. Masterverse continues to disappoint me with every purchase so this doesn't surprise me.

>>11202090Go to bed gramps
>>11201832>>11202056I seem to have trash taste because I much more enjoy the Masterverse offerings over origins and the new Hoard troopers hollowness went unnoticed. Perhaps it's where armor parts can be removed my brain just registered the whole thing would be that kind of light. That said I don't know why they went oversized for the Hoard trooper when the OG was average height, have they given a reason for that? It seems like a somewhat out of the blue change.
>>11202090would reps really watch places that struggle to get 200 unique IPs in a month? I always feel that's why 4chan got rid of the counters on the bottom was for slower boards like this where these MOTU threads wouldn't even get 60 IPs at a time making it clear the thread here were more like chums hanging in a room together than some meaningful expression of the fandom.
>>11201575Recently concept art for 2 movie vintage figures was revealed: Karg and Storm Trooper.>>11201832are his parts swappable with Origins?
>>11200774good choices. im surprised ski yeti hasnt been made already since he'd be such an easy reuse of parts. beastman buck with new fore arms, new head, new lower legs, and a new chest harness plus the ski accessories.
>>11193597Love the look for a foot hordesman! a while ago I came up with a similar concept, but aimed to reinterpret the horde suit into samurai armor. thus far Id say only the foot clan king hiss and bebopsteady have been let downs for me. bebopsteady especially as I was hoping he'd sport a sculpt more reminiscent of the classic playmates versions.

>>11201993I was distracted by those sexy green legs, but yeah that too, it's funny cuz I remember back in the day one of the complaints people had with MOTUC was the lack of paint.
>>11202383Wasn't there a complaint about MOTUC that figures were being casted in black plastic and painted their proper colors?
>>11202522IIRC That was near the end of the line, definitively after I was collection, so I didn't experience it.
Mondo Buzz off at NYCC.
>>11202540
>>11202285Head and arms are at least. Arms look a little funky since the peg is long enough it extends from the torso a little. But if you want a guy with giant gorilla arms you could probably make it work with one of the characters with a vest though.

Why is this thing usually so cheap? Does nobody like Beast Man?
>>11204400Overproduced shelfwarmer
>>11204400>>11204402>Overproduced shelfwarmerIt def feels that way, this happens in particular to early waves and not so much later ones, so it feels like Mattel learned that not that many people care about MOTU lol.
>>11204400I mean do people like Beast Man? >>11194603And I actually listed this fig as good one.
It's really frustrating the way they dripfeed us vintage. You dont see stuff like that anywhere else. You cant imagine Batman cartoon being cancelled and replaced with new one and last 2 seasons of the one you've enjoyed so far will air 3 episodes a year.
>>11204400Beast Man isn't even the coolest beast man in MOTU.
>>11204427They had the revelations then released the upgraded ne version so i think it was to quick to double dip myself. Of the two, i think ne is the superior version and im not buying another. I think beastman is great and iconic and ive bought every one in origins but maybe he is just over exposed.
>>11204481>You cant imagine Batman cartoon being cancelled and replaced with new one and last 2 seasons of the one you've enjoyed so far will air 3 episodes a year.Sounds like a British sitcom
>>11204481I mean that's the negative way to look at it right? the line could have also been canceled and not completed. How much is this Mattel overextending it to milk us I don't know tho.
>>11204481What really kills me is they keep making all these 'what if' figures instead of the vintage ones; I can deal with it being slow but they're really rubbing it in.
>>11204481>It's really frustrating the way they dripfeed us vintage. You dont see stuff like that anywhere else.Happens with Star Wars and Marvel Legends. And I guess McFart.
>>11204826I honestly think they're doing this cause if someone completes their vintage stuff, they might not have any interest in the 'what if' figures. So they're kinda milking it in a good way I suppose? Like you don't eat all the marshamallows from Lucky Charms and THEN the actual cereal right?
>>11204400>Does nobody like Beast Man?He's awesome, this figure just sucks. His Classics and Origins figures are great.
>>11204981I'm not going to have anymore interest in most of the "what if" shit if you spam it before finishing vintage than I will after you finish vintage. All they're accomplishing is annoying me and actually make it less likely I'll even finish vintage since I've been keeping less and less up to date over the last year. Seriously, are people actually buying shit "just because" to tide them over while waiting for good figures?
>>11204981I want to finish out the vintage stuff too, i mean thats kinda why i picked up a he man whenever origins started showing up at wal mart. I didnt really mind rots, the snake men stuff has grown on me but the tog stuff is starting to chafe at me. The figures have been hard to get and i think its gone on too long while focusing more on the tmnt instead of the grayskull. Now there is the cartoon line going strong as well, which im not a huge fan of but i do enjoy certain figures like clawful or beast man. Mattel is definitely laying it on thick if you are a motu fan but if you are just into origins then what do we get? 4 figures a year or something which are infamous for selling out in minutes at time, screwing over many many fans either by bots or matrel wont ship to a particular country. TldrIts a great time for motu and motu fans but vintage collectors are kinda getting a raw deal.
I'd love to use some action effect parts for certain figures. I do wish most Tamashii Nations effects weren't so overpriced. Do ya'll know some other brands and/or sites for effect parts?
>>11205200There are bootlegs of Tamashii on eBay. In more colors than what you currently get from Tamashii. Canofbeams used to be good but most of it is flat shit now. There are a couple of $25 variety packs on BBTS/Amazon that are ok for some basic things
>>11205157Those "what ifs" are a good way to appeal to people who already have a complete vintage collection. I find it fun to think that we might finally get the full Lost '88 in pretty close to vintage form rather than having to lean on Classics to fill in the gaps. Not that I disagree that Mattel is dragging things out, but I can see why they want to appeal to people with different types of motu collections.
>>11205157If you were at a restaurant, the "what ifs" would be the bread on the table. The Snake Invasion repaints would be normal bread. Non delicious filler.Vypor and Reptilax are like the bread sticks at Olive Garden, or a cheesy garlic bread at a pizzaria.>>11205172My biggest issue with ToG is that all of the figures I really want are exclusives, and I don't live in a country with a Walmart. I managed to get Sla'ker on MC for a decent price, but the two that are killing me are Mer-Man and Leatherhead. And now Super Shredder and King Hiss. If I can't get the ones I want, why would I get the filler like Beast-Man and Mekaneck?
This was a good week for the collection. The Rogues Gallery really expanded with some heavy hitters. The Heroic Warriors were a little lame this time, I can't sugarcoat it.>naked Sun Man$5 for the alt head and a spare set of those fly boots seemed like a good deal.>wave 5 He-ManCheap from the same place as Sun Man. My kids keep saying that they can never find "normal" He-Man to play with, so here you go. >ZahoriThe Mystical Wizard . Kind of a boring old man but still the best of the good guys this week. I bought him to keep company with Eldor, Stan-dor and MV Moss Man as my Council of the Elders. He's better than expected but still low excitement level. Mattel should follow though on that Keklar prototype so we can do these council meetings properly.>Demo ManThis guy is sick and worth the Mattel Creations rigmarole. >Leatherface and PinheadThese look nice and the crossover concept is perfectly done. But holy fuck they feel so breakable and can't hold their weapons for shit.>KaneExcellent cape. The Superstars' cape game is really on point and makes you wish Mattel would use quality soft goods for Motu.>ArcomancerIf you want that classic vibe and enjoy skeletons, Zoloworld is amazing. Maybe one day I will get deeper into vintage Remco for the history sake but I usually prefer the newer versions. >Death DealerA 5.5" masterpiece. The final boss of your collection. Fuck I saved the best for last and now I'm all burnt out and foggy. But he's as badass as I hoped and is intimidating af in hand. I wouldn't even be surprised if he was cursed and comes to life to kill me in my sleep.
Still waiting on an Origins Scareglow reissue. They did Triclops and Trapjaw, but I already got the minicomic alternative for Trapjaw.
>>11205437They should announce it soon. I just folded and bought it off Amazon for $13 above retail because I was buying a few other things so I saved on postage. Honestly though, I want a couple of more of the GOOD heroes to get Fan Fave reissues. Not boring shit like Zodac. I need Fisto and Roboto. I will probably fold and get minicomic Roboto just to trigger his vintage reissue. I'm not paying $50 for Fisto though.
>>11205267That Death Dealer is pure sex. Who makes him?
>>11205447I got minicomic Roboto. The recolor isn't bad. I skipped on the regular one since I still own the original vintage with an axe arm. I think King Hiss also needs a reissue unless they plan on doing the full serpent version like classics.
>>11205452>>11205447I do agree that Stinkor, Whiplash, Scareglow and Fisto def need a fan favorite rerelease. And maybe Grizzlor but that's asking for too much.
>>11205455Didn't Scareglow already get a second rerelease just last year?
>>11205502If he did, I heard nothing about it.
>>11205518Like, Target got those sidecap shippers with him on it...I could have swore...
>>11205522Oh, I don't have target in my area and haven't ordered through their site ever since they started allowing 3rd party sellers on the site and screwing up the search algorithm.

>>11204826>What really kills me is they keep making all these 'what if' figures instead of the vintage ones; I can deal with it being slow but they're really rubbing it in.Man, a certain segment of the MOTU crowd really does not want anything remotely new eh? Like I can totally see what they are doing, they want to add some interest/variation for people who have already bought since the classics days but want some new takes on classic characters or people who don't care too much about the details or enjoy a change up in character look. Lines are all about pleasing/appealing to multiple groups, so all the figures released are not going to appeal to everyone. They know there's a segment who only wants exact classic looks and so that is one segment they take into account while also going for other segments.
>huntara, granita, rokkon, bow, and a concept art bug man & scorpion guy on the modulok box art alongside a potential minicomic Adora and CC hordetrooperThere. One sentence. >>11207853That weapon actually exists already? Damn, guess bug guy has a real good shot at coming out.
>>11207856Didn't MOTWWEU just reuse accessories from Classics though
>>11207866Yes, but I ain't seen this released with any classics figure. So it's new. However, I was under the impression that parts made for the WWE line couldn't be used for MOTU... but Andre's giant body buck already contradicts this. Guess Scott was wrong about that too.
>>11207892>However, I was under the impression that parts made for the WWE line couldn't be used for MOTUNa, the only things they wouldn't be able to use is the unique head likenesses. Origins hands are WWE hands with the exception of the sword holding hand. The designers should give in to using the fat body next for something. Vader, Big Bossman, Earthquake, Typhoon. Good body for fun.
>>11205817Looks ok but really redundant when the Horde already has Scorpia.
So, since Mattel is starting yet another Masterverse Subline with the vintage shit, does that mean the line is doing good and they want to keep it going? or is it desperation?
>>11208298Refresh to sell it to retailers. To us it's the same line. To retail it's a new SKU of product.
>>11208304Meh, i could see it grabbing a few new fans with a vintage design but overall im kinda done with masterverse. Id grab a king hiss or more new adventures based stuff though but im good overall. Loke im looking at mv hordak and just thinking, this guy is really awesome and i dont need another version.
>>11208298Not so much desperation as much as >>11208304 needing a new gimmick to keep retailers pre-ordering. However, this is probably the only move the can really do to keep sales strong. Deeply saddening how retarded consumers are for their endless nostalgia.
Anyone know if there's a more translucent variant of ToG He-Man like how Ram Man has one?
Actually had a choice of figures today, i had to ignore the well stocked superstars pegs, between stealth he man, cc clawful and tog hordak. I decided on hordak but the whole ride home i kept thinking how cool stealth he man looks but i just dont see he man as some wandering warrior. Just felt odd to think of he man just roaming after who ever the big bad of tog is but if i imagine him as a fist of the north star or road warrior type guy then it makes more sense to me. Either way, guess ill grab him next time but im ok with hordak.
>>11206542Man Mean Gene was really ripped under that suit

>>11208989you won't be disappointed. I like how the cloak can kind of make the figure a stand in for the Preternia Disguise or when Adam went to Etheria in Secret of the Sword. But I like the Ken-Hero idea, too. >"You already have the power.">"NYAAAAA?!?"

>>11210583I already binned it so I don’t have a pic. If you want proof leave the sword in the hand yourself a few days and see for yourself! I would definitely not display it that way if you own one; I think the reason it happened is it has some kind of rubber plastic for the hands that reacted to the paint. The staff should be fine since it’s unpainted. >>11210580It was cheap feeling and the joint tolerances were not good for a figure that is supposed to pop apart, couldn’t even keep the legs attached on mine if trying to articulate it. >>11211176>Target exclusiveI bet there are at least a dozen other leafs who would have bought this if they sold them up here.>>11211377I actually don't mind NA, but its far from a masterpiece. The toys themselves aren't bad either but suffer from not feeling like Motu. The Space Mutants have some fun designs and seems to be what most people are nostalgic for. It Mattel wanted to draw water from this well, it might have been more successful to make the villains in 5.5" scale.>crowdfunded Origins Nordor playset never
>>11211549>NordorThat name is... Wow. Does that base fold into an asteroid or something?
>>11211575Correct. It's a good playset and updated one with some space pirates packed in would be so cool.
>>11211377It's not great. As someone who only got into MOTU a year ago, binged the Filmation cartoon and loved it, NA is a lackluster follow-up. It's good in some respects, the animation style is attractive and certainly more detailed than the Filmation original, and there's a bit of moral complexity at times to the plots, but making the core cast of good guys regular humans and the bad guys the cool monsters seems to miss the point of the series a bit. Abandoning basically everything from the original is a bold move, but one I don't feel is well pulled off. And the plots are often total asspulls that don't even service an aesop.Plus, needless to say, the NA look for both He-Man and the power sword are much less iconic. Even to this day, when MOTU is somewhat obscure, OG Adam is instantly recognizable for many people, and those who can recognize him will probably recognize 200X/Revelations and even CGI as variations, but NA He-Man lacks that appeal.
is the 2nd stranger things set out? target website just says sold out
Has anyone bought the vintage style Super 7 Conan figures yet?>img stolen from another board
>>11211715Not yet. I'm anxious to see how He-Man looks in person because the Skeletor from the previous 2-pack was bizarrely high contrast colored in renders but the final product is probably the best Origins Skeletor has looked.
Okay, He-Man has a holster, but where does She-Ra put her sword? Her outfit doesn't even have a back.
>>11211549Honestly, Riotblast and Rockpeople feel already like a prelude to space characters. We had some talk about them. Kinda mercenaries that visit Eternia and fill up Skeletors ranks.
>>11211597>NA He-Man lacks that appealI've wrote about this before on here, but the suits at Mattel should have used the design and concept for Dare (He-Man's son.)Visually the classic Power Sword and the barbarian boots link him back to classic Motu, but a touch of space man stuff to update him. The design for NA He-Man was incredibly bland and generic. And story wise it would have been better because "He-Man' son goes to space to chase Skeletor" allows for a cleaner break from Eternia than "He-Man goes to space and just never mentions anything from his old life again.">>11211965You could add the Cosmic Enforcers to the list of motu space ideas that Mattel could have picked up on.
>>11212006Man... I would really like to have sex with He-Ro Son of He-Man, let him embrace me and kiss my cheek with his monkey face.
What are the odds we'll get first Wave of Reptile Wars before 2-Bobsteady?
>>11211741I have one sitting in my POL that will join the eternia squad when I get him in.
>>11211948Anon... one must assume it is stored in the same place as Optimus Prime's trailer, or perhaps the sword can transform into a plug in the same way it can befome a shield. In the latter's case, it would explain both where it goes, and why she wears a skirt.
>>11211948same way that wonder woman does when she is in a dress
>>11211965The villains designs later in the line were also heading in a distinctly "space mutant" directionLike you look at Blast Attak, Saurod and Twistoid, and where do they look like they belong? With Beast Man and Mer Man, or with Flogg and Optikk?
>>11211948A man never asks, and a woman never tells.
>>11212096>sword to butt plug!>*pop*
>>11211597 it's evident they had something akin to flash gordon in mind during the design stage, but given the direction toys took in the 90's that was just a massive step down. the clean pulp sci-fi aesthetics were just way out of vogue by the time NA landed, and the points you raised both about the new cast and lore didnt do the series any favors. >>11212006's suggestions would have gone a long way in fixing many of NA's problems while still permitting for a semi-clean slate to tell new stories from. MOTU needed a Beast Wars of its own, and the fact it never got one, doomed it's future. This is why I fixate on all of Scheimer's He-Ro concept art so often. The guy knew exactly what was needed to bring the series into the 90's. A bigger, badder, eck-streem and kind of grungy evolution of the already established ideas and characters. NA/He-Ro are like the Terminator 3 of MOTU. Something everyone wanted and was really excited for, but it ultimately underdelivered and disappointed.>>11211965the total abscence of cosmic enforcers feels especially egregious. you take he-man to space, supplant him amidst an entirely new and different cast and setting, and the only other familiar face he sees in that entire span of time is skeletor? Talk about wasted potential.
>>11205437>>11206619Me too, perhaps an Origins version of the Mondo one. Or perhaps one that includes Scare Mare.
>>11211377
cum burp
>>11212319you made me just puke in my mouth a little, thanks
>>11212346Now think about the smell ..
>>11212006I agree, making it a generational thing would make the whole affair more palatable, and would also serve, if it underperformed, to give a natural catharsis if you decide to roll it back in to the original setting- coming back home to go on adventures with Dad.
>>11212561I would love to have been a fly on the wall for some of the creative discussions about NA at Mattel. There is so little that NA has to do with the original style of motu, that sometimes it feels like the whole endeavour was because someone at Mattel had the rights to some random anime series. And then they shoehorned He-Man into it because the cartoon had a guy holding a sword aloft and powering up.I know that's not true but sometimes that's the feel.
>>11212753I can totally see that, it really does feel like the black sheep of the series. All i can say that i remember seeing the toys at neighbors house and just being confused by i think the flying guy and how it was a he man. I was more aware of 200X even though i was not watching cartoons or playing with toys cause i was like a cool guy going to punk shows. Its just kinda odd that na gets ignored but we got rulers of the sun and now we are getting neat snakes and stuff. We even got 200X he man and skeletor figures. That series had great designs, why not some more in that style? Idk, maybe the vintage stuff is just too important to gamble on with the spin off figures.
>>11212950>We even got 200X he man and skeletor figures. That series had great designs, why not some more in that style?Probably because that style really doesn't work in Origins. I love 200x, but I can't bring myself to buy the He-man and Skeletor, even when BBTS had them on sale. They just look dumpy and retarded. I was hoping Masterverse would steer towards them since some of the NE designs definitely took inspiration from 200x like Clawful and Webstor, but now it looks like that's over and I will have to hope that Mondo don't charge $100 each and kill the line before getting to General Rattlor and Tung Lashor.
Why isn't there a ToG Evil Lyn?
>>11212006Funny. I actually display my NA side characters alongside He-Ro, too. I use Darius as his MaA and Mara as his Teela
>>11206052Most beautiful girl, hands down. She's perfect. Also more "original" if you ask me. Unfortunately her price is too high for my budget.
>>11213343>TOG Kirai with Snake Mutation parts first
>>11214047With Mattel's snake fixation, it's amazing that they left out the character that mutated into a snake in the 2012 series.
>>11214092Because they know their market is 40+ nostalgia boomers that would only want or recognize Fred Wolfe toon characters. 2012 is "not muh turtles" and I think we both know they've probably never read a comic in their lives so probably won't even know who the fuck Karai is
>>11214131I forget how insular my generation is sometimes, but you are 100% right. Even my housemates 20 years ago couldn't get into 2k3 because it was "not muh Turtles."
I just looked up karai and yeah, lets get her in tog. April looks goofy imo and a cool ninja lady that turns into a snake would be awesome.
>>11214131As a 38 year old man who has loved every iteration of the Turtles(other than IDW), I hear you. It's crazy how bad my generation only wants the same slop dumped on their plate for all eternity.
>>11214131>>11214143I think you are off mark and it's just hard to get the same sales numbers from the smaller series. I can think of only two toy markets that got bigger after their first major run and that was Star Wars and Transformers thanks in part by the 07 film. Also another factor is there could be tons of fans of 2k3 Turtles that would never buy new toys of them. Market has changed drastically since 2003.
>>11214260Trust me they don't, it's more the issue is it gets noisy in who will buy what. Some want all the series, some just want certain eras, others still want just the Turtles from each era. That messiness of the differences make it hard to know who to target and who not too. However and sadly, most will by the OG themed stuff even if it isn't their top choice and as such the market stays in that safe zone.
Posting this again since it's almost Halloween.
>>11214143>Even my housemates 20 years ago couldn't get into 2k3 because it was "not muh Turtles."They sound based. Sick of zoomers trying to shame me for liking the original show best.
>>11214669Suggest turning the stalk into a living vine acting as a bit of "hair"
>>11214684Are you sure that zoomers are the one bullying you into pretending you prefer the original show more than whatever series you prefer most? You are very brave for speaking out about these "zoomers" anon, id hate to see them in a dark alleyway.
>>11214684the original can be borderline unwatchable, im sick of boomer dismissing the good reboots out there. Transformers geewunners are the best example of this. fuck you.
>>11214669Mostly you could just use Hulkamania Hogan for the hot dog tan he has
>>11214684There's a difference between having a fave version and outright dismissing the newest version because of nostalgia goggles. And as a 40 year old boomer, I've gotta say that the law of diminishing returns affects every season after the first one. Hell, even the first season isn't perfect. Fuck the Neutrinos. Stupid tryhard wannabe greaser hippies.
Lady bugs have begun to re take their lands.
https://youtu.be/RfkLC4HboFk?si=ATQKwVdt-ZgcIslHDoes Michael post here? A lot of these points are word for word from these threads
>>11214143nta but even though it was more closely tied to the original comics? The 80s series is "not muh Turtles to a lot of people".
>>11214260You liked Mutant Mayhem?
>>11215297I wouldn't be surprised that a rep of his does.
>>11215297He even refers to minicomic Stratos as Naked Stratos and he gets pissy about Snakemen. There have been plenty of other signs that he is a channer, but I'm 100% convinced he is the most vocal snake hater in this thread. But his hatred for Scott is endearing, so I'll let him off.
>>11215310And I love LOP Merman. Also some of the variants were good for people who missed the first versions. I have minicomic Trapjaw and Roboto for that very reason.Naked Stratos sucks tho.
>>11215359I also love LOP Mer-Man. He and Frog Monger might be my fave non vintage figs.I bought naked Stratos when BBTS had the sale where he was $5. While I will track down a vintage Roboto, and Trap-Jaw just got a FF release, I'm not hunting for grey Stratos.
>>11215310Im the snake hater and not michael, but with how few places MOTU is discussed i could easily see him being one of the spergs in here who has to argue about meaningless bullshit. It's hard not to come away from origins with these opinions, no? the last year or two has been really rockt compared to the first year of banger waves.
>>11215421Michael ragged on ToG, LOP Mer-Man and Frog Monger, so it's pretty hard to have opinions as bad as his. His best points were about minicomic Stratos being the harbinger of doom for the line at retail, and the neutering of action features, but even that failed to address the fact that Origins is supposed to have modern articulation, and many of the figures that lost their action feature were ones where it interfered with the articulation scheme, so no matter what, something was going to be compromised with those figures.I still think MC exclusives are a pain, but I'd rather deal with them than Walmart exclusives. At least I have the option of buying MC exclusives where I live.
>>11215297I really don’t think hatred of snakes is exclusive to our threads.
https://creations.mattel.com/collections/archive-saleSome stuff's back in stock.
>>11214669
>>11215603This stuff, specifically.
>>11215604we posting mockups now!
>>11215607eh... kidna tempted to get scareglow, but also unironically the regular version might be better, they both suck tho, I still can't believe only the head glows, where the fuck is the NE scareglow BTW?
>>11215603Oh hey, He-Skeletor is up->sold outOh wow, Fang-or is ba->sold out
>>11215858yeah I couldn't get anything either.. by the time the website stopped shitting the bed everything I was interested in sold out.
>>11215690Gosh, I really wish Mattel would just use that Skeletor head instead of some faggy modern interpretation that tries to make him cute and funny.>>11215607>Duplico available when?
>>11215690Been surprised they haven't tried to put discord skeletor in one of the bundles or as an MC variant. Seems a good way to get people interested ... or a Leo variant as well
>>11215604Yeah, I think someone made this the first time I posted the idea. I assume Smashing is a Smashing Pumpkinds joke. I remember there being an open disscussion about the name. Someone also posted pic related.>>11214690Cooould be a fun idea.>>11214820Beast-Man kinda has the right color, but he has the hairy buck.
>>11215858Got to pick up Extendar at least.
>>11213343Okay, would ToG Evil-Lyn be a mutant or have armor?>Mutant Lyn is a panthor catgirl homaging that time April turned into a cat woman>Armored Lyn is a Lady Shredder homage
Happy Halloween, MOTU general.
>>11216220>AI ShitI thought I was going to get a treat and instead I got tricked.
>>11216211Catgirl Lyn sounds based. But instead of shredder armor Lyn, I'd rather see a kunoichi Lyn to go with the Samurai Beastman and Skeletor.
>>11216314Id hope we have better chances of getting karai in evil-lyn's clothes + a foot clan-themed magic wand, but if it has to be Evil-Lyn #4 then lets go the cat girl route
>>11216291I hope you have a bad Halloween.
>>11216597Spooky! Why is there a minion?
>>11215858>>11215971I had fang or in the basket but im going car shopping tomorrow and i got cold feet on a $20 toy. Maybe if i find a car ill let myself buy stealth ninja he man or a wwe superstar, idk.
>>11216637Dang. I hope you get a nice car and can still afford yourself a cool figure.
>>11216637>not buying an absolute loser cruiser beater used car so you can afford toysNGMI
>>11216755In my experience, used beat up cars cost you more in the long run than getting a low end new car with a good finance rate.
>>11216765That's cute you think that. I'm just gonna go take a bath in my spare Energy Zoids.
Geldor goes on sale on the 12th if anyone cares
>>11216597>I hope you have a bad Halloween.Right back at ya promptfag. :)
>>11217253I care, thanks for the heads up.
>>11217253I'll be surprised if he sells out in less than three days.
>>11217662>>11217643>>11217253Ive got a collection of minicomic dudes at this point, so, i guess? although they certainly picked the most bottom barrel dude they could find, probably because theyre desperate for more blacks
>>11217671I mean he looks kinda cool for what he is, but since I'm trying to keep my collection size in check and with him being just another human dude, he'll be an easy pass.I'm surprised that the He-Skeletor sold out so fast in the archive sale though.
>>11217253That's awesome! Glad they are making more minicomics dudes. This guy was on my Black History Month wishlist. Now we just need Dekker.
>>11217671>certainly picked the most bottom barrel dudeI dunno, I think he's more middling than bottom of the barrel.Like he's not as cool as Lodar, but he's better than the kid from Double Edged Sword.
>>11217690The only one of these I'd buy is Netossa and even her only because I'm starving for PoP stuff in Origins
>>11216755>>11216742Bro, ive got a 97 camry thats close to 300k miles. Its gonna be cheaper to get a newer car than fix her up. I love this car and ive kept her rolling for almost a decade now. Shes deserves the rest. Plus this is a good cover to go into the city to look at toys lol.
>>11217253I want to care, but the $30 flat rate shipping to Australia is kind of killing my enthusiasm. I guess I can throw in some Masterverse stuff to ease the burden, because unlike Demo-Man, I'm not getting two of this boring mook. If they had put him up for sale at the same time as Demo-Man, it would be an easier pill to swallow.>>11217696If it was Lodar, I'd be slightly more excited. If it was the Masks of Power mooks, I'd be pumped.
>>11217731>If it was the Masks of Power mooks, I'd be pumpedId be pumped for the werewolf because he's something different, but the lizard never excited me because he already got Whiplash and a half dozen snakes. Haramesh, the Obelisk monsters, the Kex Queen and the kobolds all do it for me too
>>11217749>Haramesh, the Obelisk monsters, the Kex Queen and the kobolds all do it for me tooSame. The six armed Obelisk dude was one I always wanted as a kid. I would be way more excited for a minicomic subline with all the weird monster OCs than I am for Cartoon Collection.
>>11217761Haramesh in particular for me, because MotU doesn't do nearly enough to scratch the "giant creature" itch. Besides Gygor and Gransmyr, they only ever do giants instead of actual monsters
>>11217704As if you wouldn't buy Plasmar. Come on he's one of the Lost 88.These were the runners up from the fan vote conducted in my living room. But these are more racial ambiguous than real blacks>Just like Barry and Kamala>>11217731I know that feel. I had to put my '96 Caddy to bed a couple years ago.
>>11217749i think there's one 3rd party custom parts guy who makes a head/arms and hands/feet pack to turn LOP beastman into that wolfdude and also probably whiplash into the right lizard guyI forgot his name though, it wasn't Barbarossapic unrelated, but halloween
>Leatherhead delay email from walmart
Did Cartoon Collection He-Man get fucking axed or something? It's suddenly sold out everywhere and I still haven't picked it up.
>>11217904I don't care about the Lost 88 though
>>11218104Based. Fuck that lazy garbage. It's the one lot of unproduced stuff that we didn't lose out by not getting it in the 80s
>>11218104>>11218120you guys are so desperate to be contrarian>where's muh vintage? why drip fed?>but also stuck in the 80s, why no new stuff?>concept art sucks even if it means new characters>hate snakes but dont bitch about all the snakes either because its getting old>oh no cartoon collection is just main cast again>lost 88? no thanks>but we're mad that they were walmart exclusives ad cant buy themDo you homos coordinate on discord to be this unpleasant? It's like you don't actually enjoy motu or want to discuss it. You just want to troll the people who do.
>>11218005Man, at least it's still this millennium. I'm not getting my handsome Lt Falcon for another 5000 years.
>>11218120>lazyBruh, do you even know what toyline you are collecting?>>11218144The only one of those that applies to me is Cartoon Collection, and even then, I don't complain about it often. Bought Adam and Cringer, will probs buy the Evil Warriors, females and PoP.Luv Snakes.Luv Concept Art.Luv Lost 88.Luv Minicomic weirdos.Luv OC Skeleton Warriors.Luv Frog Monger.Luv any weird monsters like Demo-Man.Simple as.
>>11218144Newsflash/motu/ is not a hivemind
>only buying PoP ladies from CC>have all the 88s theyve released so far>cherrypicking snakes>have all 10 sunmenIm mega cozy with origins, gonna miss this line and all you spergs when it eventually ends. Feels like thatll be soon due to how little they give us, but i know its not. Im convinced this line WILL outpace classics in time. Its already beat it in terms of playsets and vehicles.
>>11218270At this point, I'm pretty much just grabbing snakes, ladies, snake ladies, and waiting for Rio Blast.
>>11218270I think Origins has some more years left in it, especially with Thundercats next year.
I went out to walmart to get some ultra hold hair spray/paste for my halloween costume. Decided to check the toy aisle, mostly to see the new jakks pacific figures. Found this! I had totally given up getting one. Don't think its worth the $45+ aftermarket price. Its a Halloween miracle!
Not making a Martial Arts Origins He-man for the Turtles of Grayskull line seems like a real missed opportunity.
>>11218429>$45+ aftermarket price.barely worth the $25 asking price
>>11218445That is a true statement. I am very picky and selective with motu. Wanted TOG Moss Man just for its oddity. I brought up jakks before and its impressive what they can offer at $10. Also completely shits on the claims mattel and hasbro made about how 1:18th would cost nearly as much as 6" figures.
Happy Halloween lads, lets post some spooky pics
>>11218441there were tonnes of 200X variants they passed up on for ToG. shame
>>11218270i could see origins making it into the early 2030's at this rate. everyone whinges about crossovers, about the paywalling of vintage figures, but there's still a diehard fanbase for the series that would enjoy both and float the line til then to see more crossovers and concept characters happen. Be it Thundarr, DC, Blackstarr, Bravestarr, Gi Joe, or some deep cut concept waves featuring guys like mandible man and robin hood pochahontas.
>>11218664
Can't have Halloween without MONSTERS. And yeah that is a bootleg Tamashii stand. It works so that's what counts. And I'm still on the hunt for Cartoon Evil-Lyn because I think I'm getting bored of vintage Evil-Lyn.
>>11218955Matty should have done a Halloween Havoc wave for Superstars and another for Origins to re-use some molds/add a few new pieces for future figures like >>11217749 Hasbro dropped the ball with Haloween/Christmas so someone else should pick it up. Where's fat wrestler body Santa He-man?
>>11218212Don't try that bullshit on me. I know exactly what you youtubers do on your pansy ass little discord.
>>11219678Are you an actual schizo? Someone disliking something you like isn't an active attempt to "troll" you.Someone holding one opinion you don't like doesn't mean they therefore hold EVERY opinion you don't like. And making the leap to "it's some kind of organized discord conspiracy to ruin teh thread!"? If you genuinely believe that, you're massively projecting and strawmaning in an attempt to cope. And all because someone said they don't like "lost 88".
>>11218463By cost nearly as much they probably mean the cost of every step from design to manufacturing being the same in both scales is the same other than a difference in material cost due to the size difference. Plus with hasbro they factor in the license fees for Marvel and Starwars stuff. On the other hand idk why Origins have increased from almost 10 to upwards of 20 and 30.
>>11220571I think Star Wars Black Series and Marvel Legends are up to $25 last time I checked.Origins are about $20 in all stores now. I still think thats pretty fair for what you get. $15 would be ideal, but I guess Mattels gotta eat with inflation too. $30 for deluxes is pretty good for what you get- especially that Cringer set. I would be totally game for more 3-packs for $45 as long as you got good characters in them.
>big brain Horde guy is in Mantenna's mini comic BROS! GET HYPE!
>>11220722Feels good to find one for $17.99. Only put up with Superstars being $20/21 because now we get now accessories or fabric clothes added. Brutus Beefcake had working hedge clippers, an alt head, alt hands, plus fabric top and sleeves. I can live with $20.99 for that
>>11220827>Snake Queen decapitating King Hisss
>>11221009I mean, Lady Slither. Sorry, I call her "Snake Queen" in my head.
>>11221009That happened in Lady Slither 's mini comic, so I think it's a flashback
My Fangor and He-Skeletor from that sale this week came in, glad I got them. Fangor's just a cool snake dude, and He-Skeletor's nice shade of blue and He-Man face just makes him look like a real friendly guy.>>11220827Can we take this to mean the focus will be shifting from the Snake Men to the Evil Horde?
He has the power
>>11221055Oh dang, that's metal. I should read the mini comics more often.>>11221089Nice, I'm glad you got them! Is He-Skeletor the same shade of blue as other Skeletors?>>11221370I can see He-Man trying to summon a Spirit Bomb.
>>11220827I call him Brain Bug, and he is close to the top of my list of most wanted concept art figures.
>>11220827>big brain Horde guyCool, he'd look great with the concept Hordak Mammoth Man two-pack.>Mantenna's mini comicWhy is it the Filmation Horde? Multiverse story line or just Mattel being Mattel?
>>11221009He survived BTW. Only human head was cut off, snake head dodged it.>>11221089It really sounds like it.>>11221597This comics makes it clear that Filmation mini-comics and vintage mini-comics are in the same continuity (That orb Hordak holds even contains Demo-Man) I mean characters swapping designs for no reason isn't nothing new here (He-Man and Skeletor rocking 200X look for one comic just to promote figure) but yeah, apparently Filmation figures do not come with comics that suppose to fit into Filmation continuity. It just that most of characters, items and events from Filmation also happened in Origins continuity. Which again isn't that new - King Hiss minicomic started with assumption that 200X episode with Serpent Ring happened, He-Skeletor comic implies Masters of Multiverse took place in this continuity etc.
>>11220827If they make him, I hope he also gets made in the alternate white coloration (Sauce is battleramblog) just so he's differentiated from Mosquitor
>>11221814>white and black Brain BugsI would be down for this.
>>11221412Compared to Battle Armor or Keldor 2-pack Skeletor, He-Skeletor's a deeper, more electric shade of blue.
>>11220827>>11221814If the Evil Horde are based on movie monsters, is this guy the Metaluna Mutant representative?
>>11222159if so, then who is Mantenna?
>>11222083I think i like the color of he skeletor the most. Its cool that someone else thinks its a neat figure, the idea is pretty cool and it looks nice with skeletor and keldor and faker. I guess some people thought the idea was lame, kind of like anti eternia he man.
>>11222522To me he just looks like faker. I get why but I will also never be happy they didn't use the cross bones of the actual character and instead just cheaped out and used the iron cross so they didn't have to sculpt a new harness. Even more so since they had the nerve to up charge on creations. Mattel really loves screwing over fans.
>>11222923>just cheaped outPart and parcel of being a multinational company. You ner...I mean loyal fans still bought enough for him to sell out. (At least until we found another case under the empty Hot Pockets boxes in the warehouse basement.)The plan was that if mini comic Stratos sold enough we would have the tooling budget to make He-Skeletor more accurate. Oh well...better luck next time! >New for 2025 - Cartoon Collection He-Skeletor with new harness>Wal-mart exclusive
>>11222159Horde is less specific references and more like pastiches
>>11222923It definitely was a cheap cash out by mattel, it lacks any importance other than it being a blue heman but i like the idea so i bought it. It might be kinda neat to get a few more inverted color ways like flesh colored skeletor but at this point most of us could do that by rummaging through the bits box and building them for free. >>11223221>>>>>oops bots got em? Well you just arent a dedicated fan then.
Oh nice, managed to snag a battle armor skeletor, I was waiting but they sold out everywhere, I swear they made like 5.
>>11224451Heh so he comes with his iconic axe but also Ram-Man's axes? Kinda excessive but sure.
>>11224492Yeah I was thinking the same thing....why does everyone get that axe?
>>11224451painfully easy skip, and I fucking love minicomic figures. I don't mean to be negative but can we get some better selections than this and demoman? I don't want to have 80 more jobber exclusive figures they expect to sell out before they give us wraptrap.>>11224455I hope this artist they hired off of fiver gets carpal tunnel
>>11224583>I hope this artist they hired off of fiver gets carpal tunnelkek Mattel is so fucking cheap I wouldn't be surprised if they have an intern prompting these comics in 2025.
>>11224451He's simple but that's not bad to me. Just like Kol Darr, he looks an "OC" from a knock off line, but really well made. He's got a unique head and armor so he's doing his own thing but will still fit in with your motu shelf.I hope they make Lodar soon.
Picked up cartoon clawful and i swear its met my expectations. Im working down my list of figures and after stealth ninja he man cc clawful was next, cc spikor would be cool but clawful is just so wild looking while spikor isnt as diffrent from the origins figure.
>>11224692I'm curious....whose on your list?
>>11224993Ive just been working down from mutated moss man to tog hordak and leather head then i got ninja he man and picked up a few of those less than good playmate re issues. I usually have everything on pre order but money issues caused me to cancel and ive just been picking up what i can. I got that stranger things two pack for $17.50 so really im just down to bop steady and cartoon spikor. Ignore the stinkbug on demo man, it kinda looks cool but im gonna chase it off soon. Gonna put these guys away and break out grasp and terroar soonish.
>>11225016This is an odd time to get into Motu honestly, especially if you want to buy into Origins. If you like the ToG and CC it might not be a bad thing, but it would be hard to start going for a complete "updated vintage" collection with how hard wave 1 and 2 are to find.Nice Two-Bad in the back...that's been how my collection has turned. The new Motu stuff is so hard to get in leafland that I branched out into vintage and knock offs.>still want Stranger Things He-Man tho
>>11225035NTA, but I only jumped into Origins last year, and I personally think anons have overhyped how hard it is to start near the end of the line. He-man and Skeletor are at or below current retail prices, Evil Lyn and Teela are only slightly above that on Amazon. Beast Man and MAA are harder to find, but you can make something closer to vintage MAA with the Eternian Trooper, and Beast Man can be subbed with either CC or ToG if you aren't a stickler.Wave 2, 3 and 4 have all had half of each wave reissued as Fan Favourites, with the only ones that are a real pain to get for a decent price being Man E Faces and Hordak (who can be subbed for the superior Buzz Saw Hordak.) I just got Scareglow for $30 off Amazon, so he should get reissued soon. I don't mind paying slightly more for some figures since I got Naked Stratos wave for under $10 each, and I've gotten fuck loads more for cheap on BBTS. There are a few figures that will be a pain to get for a decent price, like Thunderpunch He-man, and the MC exclusives I missed like Grizzlor will be the biggest pain. All up, even including postage, I have probably spent about the same or slightly more than I would have buying them locally when the line first came out, because prices are fucked in Australia unless you are lucky enough to stumble on them at Toyworld or BigW before they sell the one or two cases they receive. And I was lucky enough to find Slamurai and Snake Horse Trooper at retail right as I started collecting. I'm just going at my own pace. Snake Men are just about finished, and now I will focus on the Horde.
>>11225070You seem chill. I would send you a spare Grizzlor if it wasn't so far away.Mattel has done an OK job at making sure the main cast or a version of fan favourites are available when you look back at it. Wave 1 had Teela but she came back with the Green Goddess and then the bird pack.Man E Faces was a fuck up because first there was that mystery wave 2 restock that vanished. And when they made the mini-comic version, it was an exclusive and harder to find. You could get the stunted looking CC version when he comes out.
>>11225035>still want Stranger Things He-Man thoDespite missing the Street Dates there hasn't been an aisle reset yet. The tags are still valid for the Skeletor set and Splinter. The next sets are possibly showing up at the end of the month when the aisle resets start again for Christmas
>>11225869Nice
>>11225869>be advised>be advising>tfw
>>11225869I'm so glad I bought two Extendars to have extra extension bits.
Another friday night, another night at the bottom of the catalogue.
>>11225035You guys get the rough end of the stick. /toy/ really has shown me how many hoops the international fans have to jump through in order to buy some toys. >>11226937Its cool though, the spammers dont come out here atleast not that they are a big deal on motu.
>>11227528I don't collect one six scale, and even if I did I already have a huge Classics and now Origins and vintage collection but this is so fucking great looking I'd love to pick him up as a one off.
>>11227528>Anti-Cringer>or as I like to call him>Baseder
>>11227528Damn that is cool. I wish they would make this in the 1/12 scale both origins and masterverse
>>11227528This looks so fucking cool, really like that candy apple red gloss on the armor.I have their Battlecat and Panthor already, really can't justify a third cat with the enormous amount of space they take up but I wish I had skipped Panthor now so I could get this instead.
Fact that his loincloth is the same color as his body makes me think that he's just wearing a belt.
>>11228808>disappointed that he doesn't have fur like Grizzlor>realize I have a MC Grizzlor in storage that I bought but never opened because I preferred the Dark Grizzlor I already had from the Powercon set>I can swap out all the limbs and head onto the Grizzlor no make him the way I want himMy excitement for him renewed when I remembered that
>>11228896>I preferred the Dark Grizzlor I already had from the Powercon setI wish I hadn't missed out on that set, it looks great.>I can swap out all the limbs and head onto the Grizzlor no make him the way I want himI had the same thought but then his fur-less head would look out of place. Still wish Mattel would've just given him the Grizzlor fur treatment a figure of Mammoth-Man clearly called for. If you're listening I'd happily pay an extra five bucks Mattel!
>>11229388Alright but Grizzlor, like Moss Man, has a clear fur area and clear furless area. If Mammoth had a fur which part of his head suppose to be covered? Just top of his head?
>>11228224Would anti cringer be brave by default and then become a coward when given the power of grayskull?
>>11229507Depends on how far you're willing to go with that whole "opposite" thing>Hi, I'm Adam, slave of Anti-Eternia!>And this is Baseder, my fearful foe>Heterosexual public powers were hidden from me the day I pointed down my mundane sword and said>BY THE POWER OF HELL-SKULL>Baseder because the puny Peace Cat, and I became He-Man, the weakest man in the universe!
My bitch mom had better order me 3 Geldors tomorrow after messing up the pants for my Prince Adam costume.
>>11230228:)
>>11230427fucking dumb woman sewed the fur around the ankle...it doesnt go on the ankle mom it goes on the top of the boot! FUCK
>>11230228My mom wont buy me 'collectibles' i asked for the stardust the super wizard book a few years back and she said no. Now i gotta get a stupid job to buy toys! I thought she loved me too, this aint love mom.
Target's loaded with 2-Bopsteadys, but mine's in the mail so I had to pass.
Is this the Geldor waiting room?
>>11230787Nice heads up man, thanks. Currently sitting at the liqour store waiting for 11 am. Should i head home or do i want geldor enough to wait a few minutes?
>>11230850Ty, had totally forgotten>https://creations.mattel.com/products/masters-of-the-universe-origins-geldor-action-figure-htm96
Wonder how long Geldor will stick around MC for
>>11230850My order of 2 went through. That wasn't bad at all.Do we know if they are making Dakon too?
>>11230894He's been teased on artwork but that's all.Wouldn't it be great if Mattel continues these minicomic characters as a set where you could get Geldor, Dakon and his woman all at once.
>>11230885Still up, i kinda expected the production run would be smaller for such a niche figure this far along in line.
Weird that none of the pictures show off the combining axe feature, they even have on picture showing off the hole at the bottom of the one axe.
>page 10Could MotU OP anon pretty please make a new thread? You make great OPs!
>>11231118I think its because that "feature" has been around since Ram Man and is pretty friggin' lame. Mattel doesn't want to remind people about that pegwarmer.
