I had to fight long and hard to get her to buy me a Bionicle. She forced me to get Pohatu Mata because he was the only one without weapons. Then when I went home she laughed at me for her choice because Pohatu was slouching like I did when I studied. I got into System with Mixels and it was a hell of a lot more fun than Playmobil like I knew it would be. But I'll never own AquaZone or UFO or Time Cruisers sets.The only time a man can be happy is in his childhood. And the 90s were a hell of good time to be a kid. Yet I go to experience none of it despite being alive at the time.

Lego catalogues kinda blew my mind at the time with how rich and engaging they were. Every other theme came with a mini-comic, the dioramas were more lively and the sets had nicer backgrounds in contrast to the near-existential backgrounds in Playmobil sets.

Not really into Star Wars and I don't know what movie these guys are from, but the set was on sale and I thought the artillery walker thing was neat. It came with an extra gun (and like a million snow visor things or whatever, wtf do I do with those) so now my sole cop is packing heat as well.

I'm starting to think the D&D CMF line has run its course. I went to three shops today, all of them had what appeared to be two full boxes of figures. And I didn't find a single Dragonborn Paladin in ANY of them. That's where the series has gone. Now that everyone has more or less gotten all the figures they want, they're now just focusing on army-building the paladins.
