Quesada dictated there could be NO thought balloons and minimal explanation boxes, almost everything had to be dialog driven, essentially making every book a storyboard to turn into a movie/show if called upon (remember the first animated DTV Batman/Superman movie based on the Ed Guinness book that sucked so bad because the book wasn't strictly dialog?). Quesada focused on writers, hiring tons of Hollywood types to come write. But he allowed Bendis who was really good at first to write SO MANY books that he just phoned it in with the Bendis-speak and other dumb shit that just ruined books and characters. Bendis brought readers in then he also drove them out with scores of Go Nowhere Do Nothing Write For The Trade decompressed bullshit. The entire Write For The Trade mentality begun the end of the industry, and kicked into high gear around 2016.
