Just why?
>>11220447Eat shit Gofag/Britbong/Hat
>>11220447I love Fixit's drill hands. Why aren't there more TF's with drill hands?
I looked at Transformers in the store for the first time today. They're generally a lot smaller than I expected. I thought they'd be around 20cm tall as a standard size.
>>11220545Why are you upset about a twenty-five year old toy that no one is forcing you to buy? Is it because brown woman? (I know that's very triggering for the rugged conservatives in the audience.) Anyway, the answer is simple: Animorphs were very popular and since nanobots are still beyond the scope of toymakers, designing and marketing the toys as Transformers was kind of a no-brainer.
>>11220545Animorphs was popular at the time and trying to expand beyond being just books, which is why they had the live action show for a little while there. I would like to know how someone at Hasbro decided to do this crossover though.>>11220708Your post is extremely gay kys>>11220603They were generally bigger 10-20 years ago, or at least there were more big ones relatively.
RE: Drill hands: More characters need hands that switch out for tools/weapons. Always a fun play feature, especially with 5mm ports.>>11220752Extremely triggered, lol, lmao
>>11220752Seriously there's no rational reason to post an old toy just to complain it exists, so it's obviously for extremely insecure reasons.
>and now people ARE talking in my threadi appreciate it but we gotta give up. I would have deleted this one if i'd gotten to it quickly enough>>11220545i think they were inspired by the mutatin' TMNT figures but didn't really know how to do it.
anyone got a picture of the Legacy animated crew with Legacy Bulkhead, I'm debating if I want to get him or not
>>11220555But Gofag hates the disclaimer>>11220998Be the change you want to see in the world
>>11220762>drill handsWhat about drill kneesCan't go wrong with more drills
If anyone still needs the Thundertron 3 pack, its on sale on Walmart's website for 45 bucks.
>>11221250>Be the change you want to see in the worldI'm trying..>>11220762I super agree. all those cool predacons with weird hands, it'd be nice if they had normal hands too. They kinda tried to with Sky Shadow.>>11221255drill knees are fucking amazing. I am also a fan of chainsaw knees ever since that one Batman Beyond episodewho has drill knees?there's lots of drill hand guys i know of.. Drill Bit, Transmetal Inferno, uhh one i'm forgetting.. Armordillo doesn't, but you KNOW he can still dig with those huge claws.
>>11221336I know, anon, I know.I don't remember chainsaw knees at all, but that sounds super cool>who has drill knees?GaoGaiGar, the final successor to Transformers>we peaked at drillposting with Beast WarsIt's over...
Is this fucker gonna be cheaper than $60 anytime soon. Kinda wanted to grab since I got stuck with soundwave.
>>11222636at least the ravage is good, ne?
What is even on the shelves nowadays, I haven't been to irl retail in so long, and amazon listings aren't exactly accurate, e.g. the deluxe Optimus doesn't even show up
>>11222654i went to Target for halloween candy at the end of september and again at the end of octoberI saw heavily marked down dragon megatron (cryotek is fucked) and some TF ONE stuff.and this store has FREQUENTLY had literally two transformers in it. and not just because that's all that was left, it was just copies of 2 of them. that was all they were selling at the time.
>>11222663>heavily marked down dragon megatronIt's full fucking price here on amazon.ca, and it was only slightly on sale before>literally twoWhat is even happening, I know TRUs had their TF aisles shrinking more and more every year
>>11222636He was $40 last year on sale. Expect that again come black friday time.
>>11222674this target is run pretty poorly. last time i went there, i finally let myself splurge on an icee even though 2 bucks is kind of a lot for a cup of carbonated slush. i just love em. There were no cups. I asked if I was supposed to get a cup from the counter, they said no, I can only buy it if i use the special cups with UPC barcodes on em. So while there's plenty of the stuff left, they can't sell any to me due to a lack of cups. Fucking baffling.
>>11222646yeah ravage is okay, but too big to fit in Legacy Soundwave. You can stick Dr. Wu Megatron in the passenger seat of the Thundermachine.
>>11222685Take your cups to >>>/c/, this is /t/, for Transformers
Growing up, the cool kids played with GI Joe and the gay kids played with TF. Interesting to see this has never changed.
>>11222700I feel like there's a very important point I was making that, possibly due to autism and an inability to abstract or connect seemingly unrelated concepts, you have missed.
>>11222701that's.. not what the stereotype was..transformers kids were perma-virgins, gi joe kids were fags. because the cast of GI Joe is approximately the Village People. Venture Bros riffed on that pretty hard.
>>11222706>taking ANYTHING the gay ass Venture Bros does as gospelWhats it like being a perma-virgin? Do you even desire to live?
>>11222710they were riffing on public opinion. that entire show is just 'the shit kids made up when we were kids and hung out together'
I'm excited for the release of Transformers One Starscream eventually. I really like the additional black on his body, and he doesn't look too top-heavy, so I hope the toy reflects that.
>>11222706I thought He-Man was the franchise for fags
>>11224022same thing
>>11224014Man... this design kind of sucks
Lol somebody posted the entirety of Transformers One and Rise of the Beasts to a social media site.
>>11220447Hello, I am go anon, the one who started it all here, wanted to say that if Big T wins Tomorrow, you will be free of me.
>>11224384it's weird that no version of grimlock since, to try to use this transformation scheme, has gotten the tail even a fraction as satisfying. and it's still not that good, just kind of okay for an oldtimey stompy dino.
>>11220545The animorph toys were based.
>>11224405I love his new leader, but yeah that tail is way too fat.
>>11224408we need to just accept that any tail-to-legs grimlock is gonna have.. pretty thin legs. That's fine. For one thing, move the tailtips to the INside surface of the legs, to fill them out so they aren't just flat.
Looking forward to Transformers: Cyberworld?

>>11224738It's the helmet from a KO Micromaster set, I don't remember whose. I basically turned him into Immorticon from Transtech.
>>11224727fuckin works for me>>11224730who's the spearman on the right near the mini-minis?
>>11224738Picture.>>11224743Terradive from one of the off screen movie line bots.
>>11224744man we talk a lot about proportions in here, but they REALLY found a way to make this look like the hulk as a transformer. He is just perfectly massive. They did a great job. and that's a clever way of folding up the tank treads. Your new head is icing on the cake>Terradivewhoa, forward-swept wing jet, very nice. and the wings end up on his legs!!
>>11224751This was one of the only Marvel Crossovers Transformers that I thought looked actually like a Transformer, aside from the head. So I replaced it and boom. I envision him as a character they drop in on a battlefield to absolutely decimate everything and pick him up after they trigger a shutdown sequence.
>>11224755it's a shame he's only a deluxe.
>>11224762He's a pretty bid deluxe at least.
>>11224763He's a short Voyager, at best. Very bulky.
>>11224384When the fuck are they going to give us Bluelock already? Or a modern Hero Prime, given we at least got Hero Megs back in TR? What about Cryotek or Razorclaw? So many no-brainer, virtually zero-effort repaints Hasbro could make to literally print money, yet they seem to be outright refusing to do them. Why?
Post your finest MAGA Jazzes immediately
>>11224800i imagine tigerhawk is shelfwarming due to him sucking so hard, and i've SEEN dragon megatrons littering the stores, so that probably discourages them.
>>11224829It pisses me off that TM2 Megs glutting is cockblocking me from Cryotek when it's their own damn fault for repacking it one wave after it first shipped, in the first wave of the next toyline, one that stores always overorder literally right after everyone already bought it.
>>11224824
>>11224830yeah that was dumb. dumb as a butt.refresh him? sure. in a year. two years. Give us Cryotek first, some kid will be like "i missed megatron, at least i can get -A- dargon"just like when I was a kid and I never managed to get Terrorsaur, but I had Lazorbeak. that was a 'close enough' situation.
>go to Ross with gf (first mistake)>find Battletrap >explain to her this is the only ROTB figure I don’t have, palms sweaty >shes hangry, gets shitty >I leave it behind>instantly flustered, feel like acting like a baby but quell it >go home, get mad, wait til she goes to bed and go back for it >they close earlier than I thought, they slam the gate closed in my face as I approach the door Not my finest moment. Now sitting here at home with no Battletrap and doing the math on if I wasted enough gas to completely negate the Ross savings which I probably did
>>11224835if your desire is great enough to defy her, then so should your will be.
>>11224837Is that a funny way of saying ‘shoulda just bought it even though she was pissed’? Yup. Shoulda just grabbed it. I know better but I did avoid a possible meltdown so whatever. I’ll probably end up wasting a bunch more gas going back to find it gone tomorrow lolThe day wasn’t a total bust. Earlier in the shopping trip I found another Earthspark Grimlock and I decided Iike the mold enough to try again after my first copy’s QC issue. 2nd copy is perfect! 1st copy really is defective. Even after trimming some plastic the backpack still springs out of place no matter what I do. Happy to have a perfect copy and the broken one is going back to the store
>>11224842well the other side of that is "if you really care more about her feelings than the toy, then don't go get it" but i'm not tryin to bust any chops, i feel for ya.>broken one going back to the storeexcellent. the wife's gotta like that.
>>11224844Returning it is another opportunity to look for Battletrap too. Honestly, I’m just a spaz, all my movie figures are sitting collecting dust, I don’t even need that damn thing
What will this mean for our toys?
>>11224850Less Chineese bootlegs and less DEI at the toy companies. Hopefully all the pedos that run these companies are apprehended. That’s probably why they are doing so poorly all the pedos know their time is up and they are rugging the companies one franchise at a time
>>11224847i also need to play with my shit more, but.. eh..
>>11224850Hasbro has to pay the new yuge very smart, very important import tax on their product made in asia, then they'll pass the bill to customers yo keep their profit, so every thing gets more expensive.
>>11224853I play with my stuff way too much lol. For me it’s specifically the movie stuff, I geek out on it for a week and then forget it exists for a year
>>11224862i've realized i need a workspace for customizing, and a play space where i can cycle things in and outright now going to the shelf involves carefully trying to get something without knocking six other things down (always fail), then bringing it over to my desk and occupy the space where I put food. right now half of that is taken up by PF Inferno whom I'm nearly done customizing

>look up the TFwiki page about the Evergreen designs because I want to show someone them>"Power of the Primes Starscream is the Evergreen design"Fuck no wonder it was so ugly. People wondered back then how you could fuck up Starscream's proportions so badly.
>>11223307Is it really hard because the huge pack of stuff that needs to be redo? Because people want only the core robot in different colors although a powerlinx prime with his trailer would look sick af
>>11225019I'd only be interested in just the core bot for power link Optimus. Maybe they could add the minicon weapons with him. They could also do Nemesis Prime and give the super mode head a damaged Nemesis head.
Following on from >>11224990, here's vehicle mode. Again thanks to Mavs for making this kit.
>>11225019I hear this a lot put personally I'd be pissed if they gave us powerlinx without the trailerI know he never used it in the show but I don't care, it's cool

>>11225132All the best analysis of US politics comes from british guys who review toys on the internet as their job
>>11225141it is kind of sick how obsessed they are with our politics when we don't even follow theirs. i'm reminded of that Doctor Who when everybody in the UK was anxiously awaiting obama's magic recession cure. i genuinely cannot tell whether the writers were making fun of that or agreeing.man Dalekformers when?
>>11225145Daleks look fucking dumb tho
>>11225103It did not translate to 3D.
>>11225145It brings me a little bit of jingoistic pride but it definitely isnt healthy. like just chill out and play with your toys for a bit man, this isn't really your wheelhouse.>man Dalekformers when?I would like to see toys of the Decepticon Triumverate some day, only one that would really need to be a new mold is the Dalek guy. Six arms is a really cool design trait, wish we got more guys with stuff like that>>11225153they are but that's part of what makes them so iconic. they're the cheapest goofiest looking killer robots ever, and it's kind of awesome
>>11225153the plunger arm looks dumb, that is the most that I am willing to admit. Modify it into one of those oldtimey dish-and-antenna ray guns, and we're talking.
>>11225159
>>11225159We all should agree to collectively forget this figure and never talk about it ever again.
>>11225172Yet without it we wouldn't have Big Elita
>>11225160How would you store away the 6 arms, and bring out the Dalek tools? I wanna see people try to plan him out, also the other two guys there would be funny to include but Legonis isn’t inspiring much in me
>>11225176Now we have Big Arcee
>>11224850since price of gas will come way down, the price of toys will do since a huge amount of the factored in cost is shipping. Also, hasbro might be able to move their factories from vietnam to something more productive, possibly even the US (which would be a MASSIVE price drop for us, but likely make it more expensive for China so I doubt)
>>11225034>>11225041With how the designers've been talking about SS86 Optimus and how his mold "could totally be sold at leader without the trailer", which's kinda telling me that's exactly what they plan to do some day, I really hope they do the same for both colors of Armada Optimus. Give him a standalone Voyager release as well as the full-cock Commander repaint.I haven't really seen before what the Super Mode would've looked like in art before, only as the old toy, but seeing it now... Yeah. That's fucking sick.
>>11225178I believe the idea of his transformation is that the central cylinder opens up into the six arms, and the rest of the body is inside it
Anyone waiting on the takara release for ss86 prime/plan on getting it? Hoping it has better QC.
>>11224014This is so hideousThey're like the IDW/Earthspark fusions. It's so soulless and ugly

>>11225273It's down now but it was up on Youtube at 720p for half a day with 166K viewers last I checked. Indian cunt too I suspect.
I finally found a SS86 Blaster after having to buy him off fucking HLJ of all placesZERO on shelves, Target delisted him and they have no idea when he'll show up Scalped for $80-90 even in Local groupsI paid $35 on him on HLJ He's great mostly cause I never got Kingdom or Legacy oneSS86 Prime still sucks but sometimes he can get some fun poses>>11225252There honestly wasn't any QC from what I saw besides the back light stuffWhat others issues did he have?
>>11225242Neat, always interesting trying to think how characters would transform
>>11225280i'm always trying to think up better transformations for some of the tougher beast modes, so it's not just a boring limb-swap.There are some that are probably impossible to do in a satisfying way. bird/bat/ptero wings are so damn big. dimetrodon sails... uhh giraffe legs and necks..
>>11225287How would you do a snake? Since theres already a snake guy
>>11225289yeah snakes are really fuckedi feel like for a snake you should just go deliberately full weird mode and/or accept more partsforming than usuala W-shape of the middle can combine into some awkward legs, and perhaps you can detach some parts and flip them back up to the new torso..but you're gonna have big wiggly long snake arms, there's little you can do. just lean into it, make it his thing. The snake head should absolutely be the torso, fuckit. partsform it. Makes me wanna see a less-cheaty version of Ryuseioh. Gimmy a nice long dagron where the legs form robot arms and the neck and tail turn into legs.. but do somethin new with it.
>>11225287Friend and I were discussing a BW styled dragonfly TF where the wings formed the limbs ala BM Buzzsaw, except with the arms as well. In the end we settled on this:>Wings form limbs, rear wings form legs, forewings form arms>Torso is formed from thorax and a bit of the base of the tail>Back of insect becomes front of robot, legs become kibble>Head flips up onto bug back, robot head formed from bug jaw whilst the eyes become chestplate (compound eye boobs if female lolololol)>Tail folds up behind robot head to form TM2 Megatron style head-spine/mega-ponytailMan, it's kinda shocking the only dragonfly TF I can think of is Tonbot/Jetstorm. A shame, dragonflies are cool.
>>11225289>Since theres already a snake guyThere's TWO snake guys, and interestingly, they're both Maximals. Colada is the better known, but I feel Night Viper pulls off the transformation better. Either way, using a cobra seems to be the way to go - taking advantage of the frill for the extra mass required is a must, even if it looks ugly.
>>11225301Damn, he does look pretty interesting
>>11225295hmmm not a bad idea, in theory.. with heavy stylization on the wings like that one Beast Machines guy with the wing legs.>thorax becomes torsological,>insect head becomes chest a la Jetstormwell now you got two torsos. That is so much of its meat taken.the tail becoming the back of the head is pretty smart, but at least part of it should pop off as a cannon. there is a LOT of tail.
>>11225303I'd need to draw up a diagram of how it works but like, the compound eyes just form the chestplate. Hard to explain. But yeah I definitely had that guy in mind, it wouldn't be the most biologically accurate dragonfly but it'd be cool, I hope. And yeah, maybe have the end of the tail detach and form either a gun or a melee weapon?
>>11225301While not a snake, the first Dropkick in Studio Series is such an emaciated helicopter you could probably use that as a jumping off point for a snake.
>>11225239>the designers've been talking about SS86 Optimus and how his mold "could totally be sold at leader without the trailer"Did they really say this? Because that sounds like how we'll get our Nemesis Prime.
>>11225276Scratches out of the box on his entire front. Dunno how common it was but it's happened more than a few times, even mine has it. And this could just be mine but when transformed it likes to push apart a bunch so I can only have him in bot mode. My trailer also had damage out of the box and the axe, the accessory I was most interested in using, was bent horribly and the matrix has gold over the blue. I'd like to get a new one but Im worried it'll be just as bad.
>>11225319I'd like that and a Sead Optimus redo too. This guy is so nice, I wish Laser Prime could get this treatment.
>>11225019I love this deco so much, one of the most unique color scheme. It does make me wonder how did Optimus revert back to his original colors at the end of the show. I think it would've been better had he kept it during his supposed self-exile since it would neatly transition into his Energon body that has similar colors.
>>11225324>one of the most unique color schemeIsn't it an Optimus Primal homage?
>>11225326And a Nemesis Prime homage considering Optimus went all out and even threw out his Matrix in the duration he had with that color scheme. It's really kind of a mixture of both color schemes.
>>11225307>>11225303>>11225295Only Dragonfly tf I have ever seen is this weirdo from 1985, a pretty interesting Triple Changer from Taiwan
>>11225315damn, the robot mode has some issues but I think it would indeed make a fine snake.. at least, a fish
>>11225019>Because people want only the core robot in different colors although a powerlinx prime with his trailer would look sick afThe issue is that the core bot and trailer likely aren't on entirely separate molds. If they made only the core bot, they'd have a bunch of trailer pieces being pointlessly made. There's a reason all trailer-less redecos from the original Armada line used the smaller, inherently trailer-less Armada mold and not the big one designed to come with a trailer.
>>11225276>I finally found a SS86 Blaster after having to buy him off fucking HLJ of all placesZERO on shelves, Target delisted him and they have no idea when he'll show upFucking pisses me off. I want him because of the better paintjob than Kingdom and he's a decent figure. It also helps that Eject is no longer clear.I reaaally don't want to reward the scalpers so here's hoping some local Targets finally get their shipment of him in.

Let's talk Action Masters, as I'm slowly working towards my goal of having a modern interpretation of them all. Which one should get a new figure next? As far as my own goals for filling in the gaps (because I'm not hunting down the Subscription service dudes like Treadshot and Circuit) here are my current plans>Currently got/ordered: Cybertron Smokescreen (Rad), Legacy Jackpot, Botcon Kick-off, Dramatic Capture Series Mainframe, Titans Returns Krok, SG Slicer>Rollout: Energon Landmine? Only similarities between the two really are being orange/blue "construction" autobots.>Skyfall: Honestly might just repaint a Gundam for the memes>Over-run: As much as I want to take the easy out and just use Energon Quickstrike, I'm not dropping $200+ on a literal who toy to represent another literal who>Sprocket & Rumbler: These two confound me since they're the same mold, and Sprocket "has" an altmode that's basically a Cybertronian hovercar thing. The closest thing I can think of is Animated Jetfire (Which definitely works for Sprocket) and Rumbler (Which is more of a stretch)>Treadshot: Repainted Cyberverse Deluxe Megatron w/ new 3d printed head/chest bit>Gutcruncher: Hulk tank with new head (No this totally wasn't inspired by the post earlier ITT)>Charger: The few vehicle details he has implies helicopter as an alt mode, but which fig to go with?>Take-Off: This guy I really don't know how to approach. Bro has wheels on his arms but turbines on his chest, so is he plane or is he car?>Circuit/Axer: Tracking down Axor shouldn't be too hard, just pricy. Circuit becomes tricky though, No idea what to do for him that doesn't involve paying a few hundred for his Subscription service fig.

>>11225479my feeling is, the wings as chest fins are cool (but deserved some slots to fit into)the wings becoming a claw is decently okay, good weapon, weird that it adds kind of another 'head' but whatever.doing BOTH and leaving zero wings on his back, just two lizard arms? no way. And the lizard head hand sucks.

>>11225668That was a MAJOR reshelling though.
>>11225655The new Knight Rider one makes sense. Giving KITT a robot mode is the logical next step for an AI as advanced as he was. The Back to the Future one made sense, too, considering it was specifically the futuristic version of the DeLorean - it was already a fusion-powered, flying time machine, so having it turn into a robot as well really wasn't all that weird at that point.

>>11226221oh no no, I see what you're saying now. pull-down thighs as in the opposite of what t-rex megatron has.I was talking about the old transformers where the leg slides into the shin for vehicle mode, then extends out for robot mode. Yes yes now that you say that, it does look like maybe the thighs are meant to pull up, and fit better in that groin.
>>11226223Yeah if it is the pull up/down type thing, its a bit worrying since it being too tight might cause stress on the plastic if you're not pulling it correctlyprobably will be nothing to be worry about though
>>11226226shit's so finnicky.. it's crazy being a fan of both action figure robots and model kit robots, you want such different shit.. if something is going to have a lot of friction joints, keeping it light helps a lot, and if it's motorized, all the moreso having decently flexible plastic so nothing destroys itself if it's slightly offcenter.
>>11226123Those look like train wheels in the legs, so alt mode may be a space train.

>reminder that the live action figures are high test only I think we need our own thread
Don’t get me wrong for a second, I love all eras of Transfotmers, but the live action stuff has a certain special appeal that is lost on many. The entire aura of the live action stuff is so much more brutal and “mature” sometimes it makes the G1 stuff feel “soft” to me. Also another awesome factor of the movie stuff is you get an officially listened alt mode that’s basically a model car instead of characters that turn into a stack of blocks.
>>11224953Gonna have to disagree with you on that one >wonky backpack >arm kibble Imagine writing off this beautiful bastard over such trivialities

>>11226423Big tiddy Battletrap
Got my Comic Straxus from a questionable ebay seller. I'm honestly shocked it arrived, though the seller seems to be trying to scam (used Fedex and wrote the wrong name on the package).Anyway, Straxus is a pretty good toy. Despite the Galvatron mold being released a few times, it's still nice and tight. My only real complaint is not including a more comic accurate pickaxe and not remolsing a bit more (redoing the thighs and remolding the torso a bit so I'd resemble his cannon mode more.
>>11226430Ironic he was the first ROTB figure I wanted and the last one I got my hands on. I now have every ROTB SS except Noah and Novakane, both I don’t feel like I need. I’ll grab em eventually
>>11226423Sure, except his singular accessory also sucks, his alt mode is a fucking mess, his transformation isn't fun and his proportions are so lanky and shitty and take away all the coolness from his movie model. It really sucks because I like his design but the toy is just so disappointing and there is no good alternativesWhy did rotb have to be such a fucking mess
>>11226438>Why did rotb have to be such a fucking messIt’s totally crazy how they rugpulled the toy designs at the last second. Most of cast got their looks updated at the last second. Well after they were able to make any changes to the toys.
Optimus & Galvatron
>>11226267Yes, remember green and pink Trashmaster? they just use whatever is left on the factory.
>>11226448How the fuck did this even happen? How could your production be such a mess that someone comes in at the last moment and says “you’re updating all these designs immediately and I don’t care if it’s too late to change the toys”. I bet there were so many arguments and fights it must’ve been nuts
>>11226456I really wish they had come up with a super mode for Armada Megs that made him feel like the equivalent to Armada Optimus. The Tidal Wave "strap a shitload of guns onto him" mode always felt like kind of an afterthought. Even in the cartoon they used it like once or twice and then Optimus just made sure to not use the Super Mode that often so every fight with Megs didn't just look like the equivalent of Arnold bullying a manlet or something.>>11226468nonsensical production stuff seems common with Transformers, like how Beast Wars had Tigerhawk where by the time they made up their minds whether or not he would get a toy they already animated the character joining and dying immediately.
>>11226486>Even in the cartoon they used it like once or twiceHe uses it way more than that. I watched Micron Densetsu recently.
>>11226352Seems to me they're referencing original Prima with that color so better get used to it, I doubt it's going to change.
>>11226456I love the powrlinx prime colors, it's a shame that they probably didn't make the mold with repaints in mind so I'll be very hard to get the colors right or I'll use too much paint.

>>11226510It's a prototype bozo, none of those colors are final.

Maybe not so much Lio, since he's all organic, but takara made up plans for gimmicks in the Beast era Hasbro said no to due to budget or space reasons. With galvatron he really feels like a Brave toy they slapped a BW era head on. Lio, while I doubt he would be this specifically, does seem a bit like the Gridman figures in proportion and feel.

>>11226720It still bugs me that that's the only existing piece of merch for T-AI. Not only is it essentially a statue, and that it's unabashedly strictly coomer material (seriously, she's a hologram. Why would a hologram have anything rendered under its clothing, and why would it need to bathe?), but she's also been sculpted to look...questionably younger than she actually appears to be on the show, for reasons. Just transformers on my shelves. The other four look cool, and the T-AI one is so ridiculous that it's too much goofy fun to hide it. One time my sister in law, who doesn't care about transformers, came over and when she eventually noticed it, she latched onto it, loving it, going on about how it's "so cute and so funny." Cringing at what's silly fun is the real cringe. There are a lot of things to be uptight and embarrassed about, but this ain't one of 'em. Every time I hear someone go off about how awful that T-AI mini-statue is, it reeks of insecurity. (And possible over-compensation with projection too.)
>>11226765My girlfriend thought this fig of her was cute, and laughed at the peeping Optimus when she noticed it, so I personally have no reason to feel uncomfortable owning it.
>>11226786>You have no idea what it means to be a real nerd.I'm not a hermit. I have company over quite often. the figure is depicted in a way that isn't necessarily suited for social gatherings. >>11227222>the inevitable SS86 version instead? That would be Kingdom Rodimus with a different package. Just get the Kingdom one
>>11227222Love muh Kingdom Rodimus, display him with my Marvel TFs. Never liked either SS86 Commander.
>>11227223I'm fully anticipating 86 Rodimus to have a more accurate facesculpt
>>11227263Like Galvatron having a more accurate helmet? Oh wait.
>>11226541That came out 7 years ago. Also, no.
Recommend me a good voyager class decepticon.
>>11227320Voyager class available now/soon, or any Voyager class Decepticon ever?If the former, Legacy Tarn and Legacy Cybertron/GF Starscream. Legacy Jhiaxus technically counts, even if he's a new-age Decepticon. Also by technicality, these're Leaders but frequently sell for Voyager-or-less prices: Legacy G1 Galvatron/GenSelects Galvatron, and Legacy Armada Megatron (and prolly his repaint soon, Armada Galvatron). If the latter, I'll leave that to somebody older and sexier than I.
>>11227346NTA but what do you mean soon? Armada Galvatron isnt new
>>11227346I mean available now. It can be from any line. I already have tarn, cybertron screamer, galvatron and armada megs. I am on the fence about jhiaxus though because of that yellowing issue.
>>11227320>>11227346Jhiaxus is pretty fun as well>>11227388If he's cheap then get himHis paint already looks different depending on the lighting, and he's an ugly yellow neon fuck from ugly neon times, this is one of the few times where yellowing legitimately will not matter. This is what I told myself when getting him and he's been nothing but fun. Decent heft, you could definitely believe he could beat up Optimus or Rodimus. Just pretend he went through a portal or something.
>>11225411I can't believe nobody ever made updated Action Masters with the articulation of 80s GI Joes. They could have done this at any time and didn't. I'd buy the whole set today, no altmodes required, just make them articulated and fun to pose.
>>11227163I'm still on the fence on if I want a G1 Devy or notRather save that money and use it for re-releases of the ROTF guys
>>11226568>that chest tab>no forward or back ankle tilts>gun can barely even tab into the hand because the peg is, for some ungodly reason, half the length it should be>axe is so microscopic that even the Studio Series TFOne Prime has a bigger oneI love his silhouette and truck alt and transformation, but he's far from the best Optimus in recent years imo.
>no wild king news yetMan, I wanna see them in detail so bad.
>>11227644This and anime teaser. I hope that it's good.>>11227633True, still like him and want to get their Megatron.
>>11227424we had the R.E.D line for that but it shat the bed so hard that their upcoming prime starscream never saw the light of day pretty much having the entire subline quietly swept under the rug. Good riddance though. All the figures were dogshit with some having even less articulation than there transforming counterparts.
>>11227424They pretended to try a few times like with Robot Replicas and RED.Huh. I had this reply written a while ago, but forgot to actually submit it. Looks like it was already mentioned by >>11227649
>>11227649it's funny how every time they have the idea to sacrifice transformation to make a really good figure, they totally phone it inthe only good ones appear to be model kits.
>>11227656Maybe making a really good figure isn't possible for them to begin with.
>>11227649I'll never understand the thought process and design philosophy with that line. The articulation was subpar, certain parts on figures where removable for no reason (arcee's chestplate, cheetor's cheeta head), all the figures were made out of a weird rubbery plastic, and the scaling was all over the place. Like who the hell would buy a RED primal when you have the kingdom figure that is as equally accurate, articulated AND is able to transform?
>>11227659for the specific characters picked for RED, or for the manufacturers of those lines?
>>11227668it's obvious what happened>get license>can't do transformation anyway because they have the exclusive rights to that>advertise this as a fun ALTERNATIVE to transformation, where we can have excellent sculpts and articulation without being held back by kibble>put the absolute bare minimum effort in because nobody's gonna buy it anyway, cauterize the wound>fail>lie to investors, saying it's consumers' fault or trump or something
>>11227678Hasbro already owns Transformers to begin with.
I have Legacy Soundwave (the original one, the cleaned up reissue from Siege) and no cassettes.Do you guys think it is worth it to get the new leader release and double-dip on Soundwave himself to get 3 of the cassettes right off the bat? Or stick with the Legacy and chase different tapes down on the secondary market? I bought 86 Frenzy on ebay last night so he's coming either way.
>>11227681hasbro's transformers team did not produce RED figures. but if it was a part of hasbro at all, that would shock me.
>>11227686wait, I shouldn't have said 'but'
>>11227683if you want an earthmode soundwave that doesn't yellow and one chance to get buzzaw then yeah i'd double dip.
what was the thing like RED that was during the movies? That one we REALLY had our hopes up, because the movie designs are so hard to get right in toys, and I swear they tried even less than RED.I remember the wiki getting mad at me for adding criticism of them, even though other articles for flawed toys get to have those.
>>11227699I'm not too bothered by Soundwave's alt mode either way, it's more about his cassette minions for me. Like, do I want to track down Rumble, Ravage, etc online or get them in one shot? Buzzsaw is cooler than Laserbeak to me, so there's that.Funny enough all the Soundwaves seem slightly off to me. Like my Legacy Soundwave isn't really the right shade of blue, he looks almost black unless there's a bright light on him (but not black ENOUGH to pass for a Soundblaster, which would have been cool). Meanwhile the new Soundwave looks even darker than that in pictures.
>>11227683Get the kissplayer cassettes

>>11227979that is kind of brilliant. I'm not sure how plausible it would be to actually make the rotors like that, but even if each spoke just looked like a spider leg, that'd be fine.
>>11227649>>11227651It just seems so easy, balljoints at the shoulders/elbows/neck/knees/hips, throw a waist pivot via rubber band in there and you're done. Sell 'em for $10 a pop and we'd buy every one. I would anyway.

Help me out, /tfg/. I randomly remembered a transformer figure I had as a kid but can't find it anywhere online based on what I remember. >mostly die cast parts, had some good heft to it>pretty sure primary color was a tone of blue maybe purple, lots of grey secondary >I want to say decepticon but not 100%>transformed into some basic vehicle, I think truck with a bed or similar>bought 2nd hand at a tag sale in the early 2000's without any accessories and it already seemed a bit old>style was reminiscent to G1Seems there aren't thay many Transformer figures that were made with any metal so I thought that would make it easy but I haven't found anything that comes close yet.

>>11228236god, the armor idea isn't even that bad. but they executed it so poorly. there's not enough of it, and part of it is ON TOP OF another transparent green piece, squandering it. I guess maybe that's the holo generator. the sideways-ass fins on the shoulders do nothing. this really could have worked. It's also kind of conspicuous when the cockpit ISN'T transparent when transparent plastic is our entire thing. Though given that part of it becomes his fucking FEET for some reason.. maybe wouldn't have worked out.

>>11228688more of a railgun. the copter blades form a little enclosement and there's a little wee barrel that comes out
>>11228226>>11228815No offense to decepticon lovers, but generally heroes sell more than villains. People will more likely buy an autobot over a decepticon 90% of the time, how it is with any series really, so it's common to sell bad guys packed with good guys.
>>11228815>RED was an in-house line made by the very TF team that did the last 4 TF lines up to that pointdisagree
>>11228838my left ass, i've always had twice as many bad guys, because they're always a lot more interestingalso, due to how shows work, there's generally way more bad guys since we focus on the same team of heroes every time but you can add new bad guys all the time.

>>11228853oh I read it wrong, it's a 5mm post that is revealed. for holdin it.
>>11228839>disagree"Disagree"? It's not a matter of opinion. RED *was* made by Hasbro. It wasn't licensed out or anything. Maybe you're thinking of the Super7 Ultimates, which were a similar concept, but don't by a licensed company? (Which when you think about it, it was kind of a jerk thing for Hasbro to license out another company to make non-transforming action figures of TF characters, and then make the same thing themselves, basically competing against their own license.)
>>11228869Super Seven didn't make overlap outside the "in everything" guys.
>>11228869nah
>>11228874Super7 had 13 unique characters for Ultimates, and four of them were those "in everything guys." That's a 30% overlap. Then when you include the redecos/remolds of those characters, you get eight out of the 17 total releases, which is 47%. That's a LOT of overlap. Almost half of all Super7's Ultimates were characters also released at a cheaper cost for RED.
You know, I kinda wish Siege Devastator was a thing. I liked the Siege aesthetic, especially for vehicle modes, and seeing a Cybertronian version of the Constructicons would have been pretty cool.
>>11228889Wasn't the first wave of those in 2022, when Hasbro was already pulling out of R.E.D.?
Mp-10v would absolutely demolish ss 86 if it weren’t for its awful metallic underwear, and I find that a little saddening. With that said, ss 86 is weirdly easy to balance, almost makes me forgive the lack of toe curls
So is anyone actually planning on going all in on the 13? Like, nobody actually cares about the whole group that much, right?
>>11229110It really depends on if they are any good to me. Megatronus looks pretty sweet. At any rate I think there will be collector value in the future. But, unless like 9/13 end up being awesome, I'm probably only gonna emd up buying a couple.

Finally, this PF Inferno custom took for goddamn everI learned a lot from customizing Antagony, and tried simplifying it a bit. The ant legs still look better than they did before, but they could be improved with a bit more sawing and gluing, i'm just so tired of putting power tools near my fingers.I left some red details on because they would be really hard to paint, and I think yellow, bronze, gunmetal, and red work together. I painted clear yellow over Scavenger's purple head area, along with the Inferno purple parts, and it made this neat kinda rose-bronze. and the green eyes match. I think this is pretty alright. callin him Carrion
>>11230012That looks really cool, nice work man
>>11230011It isn't even close
>>11229940who in the fuck wants that? Who in the goddamn hell wants a literal who nobody from a fucking unwatchable movie? Bayfags are the most retarded subhumans on the fucking planet.
Take me back bros. I remember years ago you lot were shittin on Archer to prop up Warden. Archers toys hold up now. Wardens are being replaced after a year at this point lol

Studio Series AOE Leader Optimus Prime
>>11230106What about it?
Working on a custom now. Character is a female Autobot* car, stuck up rich girl type. Can't think of a good color scheme that would look nice (and one that doesn't overlap Arcee) but she's supposed to be from G2 so I've been looking at the G2 Go-Bots and Spy Changers for inspiration. Any ideas are appreciated.>*Originally but she's now a Decepticon turncoat who flipped sides due to being a flighty thrill seeker. Didn't want to go all in on the classic Pink/Purple/White Decepticon colors since that's not her origin.
>>11228619>>11228624>>11228633The is the best Human Alliance figure, on grounds that it's the only one I own.
G1 or G2 Devastator?
new>>11230115
>>11227997High, why?
>>11230106I wonder if the backpack will be worse than the voyager class
>>11230108What about dark red as a main color and light pink or yellow as accent?
>>11230132I'll give that a shot and see how it looks, thanks. Here are some of my other layout ideas (forgive how messy they are; I'm just trying to plan out colors for painting, not do a full digibash)https://files.catbox.moe/v8e4io.png
>>11230066Not at all. He's an utter disappointment of an "updated" Fort Max. He's missing several features and doesn't even have a correct base mode.
>>11230108Dark Blue with gold secondary color.
>>11230098don't take it in a bad way. Still looks great
>>11229848The PC ports are up on archive.org and have been for a couple years now, if they were bugged someone would've commented by now.
>>11230012you're a great arc in these threads. the customs and the pictures get better every time.
>>11220447AIRACHNID FOREVER SHE'S THE BEST
>>11230066if you got the space and like fort max sure, he is not the best titan by a long shot and his alt modes really sucks, but as a centerpiece he is really cool looking in robot mode, plus you can get the Scorponok rerelease to face off against him.btw the toyhax set really makes him pop
I'm starting to regret not getting Armada Optimus and I didn't even watch the show
