BBTS is having a large Super7 clearance blowout, includes a lot of their TMNT. If you think you want the Party Wagon, it's now $350, for instance.

Pretty well considering it doesn't affect them in any way, shape, or form.

Considering the JoyToy line is a much smaller scale than Neca I don't think many people would consider it an alternative to the cartoon line. She has a good sculpt though, makes me think of April from that Last Ronin sequel series but not an old woman.

Got my Mezco TMNT set. Did not expect the box to be so huge. Lego Squidward for reference. Debating if I even wanna keep the box since they provide plastic bags to store the accessories and bits except the stands.

Found 2-Bopsteady, feels like they could've used guns? But it's a fun figure. Feels like it should've been larger, too.

Metal-Boto is way more fun than I expected it to be. Wasn't trying to do the BAF when this line started, but fuck it, glad I did. Bring on the next wave.

I have half a dozen of joytoy figures in a enclosed glass shelf and after a short while I've noticed a really bad smell coming from them, so now I have to open the shelf to vent it a bit. Anything I can do to get red of the smell? Already tried washing them in a soapy water but it barely worked. .

4channel is very unreliable for information. In this general, we had an anon claim that Neca has never participated in Summer Geek Out and lied that the Last Robin accessory pack was coming when it was just a synja two pack. Even worse, SDCC exclusive figure launch times were suppressed so that anon could have a greater chance of scalping these desired items, denying the rest of us the opportunity. Shameful, very shameful.
>>
>>11236873

So? The entirety of your post, particularly the last half, is made up claims. Welcome to 4chan noob.

>lied that the Last Robin accessory pack was coming
The one that's on Target's website right now? Cause it came out. Pretty sure people were expecting it for a while considering they talked about it for some time before that Haulathon or whatever it was.

>when it was just a synja two pack.
An unannounced surprise drop. And that matters why?

>Even worse, SDCC exclusive figure launch times were suppressed so that anon could have a greater chance of scalping these desired items, denying the rest of us the opportunity.

>>
>>11237290
The line cratering like it has definitely leaves me unsure if I want to bother collecting anything they come out with here on.
>>
>>11237290
back when they had to change his face and colors, that worry made sense
but the fact that this happened, and isn't just a carryover from a long time ago, means they are okay to go. they just have to make slight modifications. i am SUPER okay with that, I actuall wish Genghis Frog had gotten this treatment. His weapons really needed changing, I mean why is one of them a caulking gun with a tongue?

i have already bought an army of in-scale rats for the King, I am 100% getting him. and I will pay upwards of 40 dollars.
>>
>>11237307
>means they are okay to go.
No, it doesn't. Are you just ignoring every other warning sign that's happened since then?

>they just have to make slight modifications
More than slight. Again you're simplifying a problem that is hindering the product greatly.
>>
>>11237314
literally nothing HAS happened since then. they went totally dark for like 2 years.

look I miss the ratppling hook and the rat crossbow too, but this is a lot better than nothing. So far the original weapons they've come up with are quite nice.
>>
>>11237263
There used to be a Super Mario World arcade machine at the nearest cinema when I was a teenager. I had a SNES so I never bothered putting money into it.
But semi on topic, the local K-Mart that was located in the basement of a tiny shopping centre had a TMNT arcade machine out the front of it. That ate a fair bit of my change.
>>
>>11237537
yeah i was thinking like, how the fuck would it make money, you don't die a lot in that game if you're any good
it turns out it's timer-based, and it's a special thing nintendo made, proprietary

>painting the centipede black and not green like his vintage card art
is S7 stupid?
>>
>>11237864
Yes, but also who knows how incredible petty the Playmates rep is when it comes to what gets approved. Maybe it's both, where Playmates would reject the release if it was too close to the box art but Super 7 changed it anyway because nobody on staff gives a hot shit about turtles anymore.
>>
>>11237263
In 1989, Nintendo put together a custom Arcade cabinet that had like 10 of their top selling games on it that you could play any of them for a quarter. The downside is that it operated on a timer meaning you only could play for 5 minutes before your game immediately stopped unless you put in more change every five minutes.

It was notable in that they actually put Super Mario 3 in the cabinet ahead of its official release in 1990, to tease fans and drive customers to play it/decades to buy the cabinet. They did something similar with the SNES but those didn't sell well so they were discontinued rather quickly.
>>
>>11237864
they have definitely not been following the card art, nor the toy-inaccurate-painted-weapon-photos they used to have on the back sometimes
but the card art has also been visibly wrong from time to time, so eh
>>
>>11237992
by arcade standards that's not that bad.
>>
>>11237864
Considering the other 'close but not quite' changes they made to this and rapper mikey I would assume its intentionally skirting the line of what they're allowed to make.
>>
>>11238367
Especially since this is the "we went back and begged" make up figure... But then you get total garbage like that Ninja April or whatever. Really have no faith in ultimates going forward.
>>
>>11238367
what were the differences on rapper mikey?
>>
>>11238370
The pivot to the 2003 show is an interesting choice, if that first wave with the brothers ends up being decent they could keep me around for the next wave where they teased Shredder although I don't remember what else was in the silhouette
>>
>>11238374
i could actually see getting their shredder and justifying him on my shelf as like, "extra spooky spirit guy shredder" like that's as valid as astronaut raph.
when i first saw 2k3 shredder i was like "holy shit he looks like Chrome Dome" and I used to use Chrome Dome as my shredder, when I lost the original.

>>11238372
They changed the clock medallion to a pizza, changed what his brass knuckles say, changed the text on his pants, gave him a different shirt with different texture, changed the belt emblem, changed the accessories. its a lot. Its not bad for what it is but its definitely not a 1-1 recreation like previous figures were.
>>
>>11238411
huh, i didn't notice. he still reminded me of the toy I had.
That is disappointing, but I hope they take this opportunity to get CREATIVE.
make POSITIVE changes. -improvements- to the old ones. Hell what if we got something similar to playmates usagi / space usagi, but with faces that actually look more like in the comics? I'd call that an upgrade. Maybe includes a softgoods kimono to wear over his weird blue rattan vest.

god, I should ask super7 if they would hire me as a designer. I'm not as good as that previous studio, but I think I'm 90% there.

I've basically lost any small hope I may have once had, probably years ago at this point, that Super7 would ever get to even all of my favorite TMNT figures, let alone getting out a somewhat complete vintage collection. And since they refuse to even comment on it in a satisfactory way, I can't imagine anyone is coming to a different conclusion.
>>
>>11239147
I just don't want you to get your hopes up. Playmates has been aggressively shitty since they realized the old designs with modern tech were a gold mine, but in typical Playmates fashion would rather shit out a half-assed version themselves instead of just licensing the concept out to Super 7 to do it better.

>>11239194
I imagine they're not ALLOWED to comment on it if they want to keep the licenses they have. Those bums at Playmates got lucky in the 80s and have made it the customers problem every decade since.

They have always been incredibly out of touch and miserly, it's why their shitty company was about to go bankrupt before they gambled on turtles. Had they not been desperate they would NEVER have gone along with the toyline, and that incredibly cheap and conservative mindset has caused their company to dwindle for decades.

>I’m excited to see where they go from here.
2k3 era.
>>
>>11239472
yes yes, but after that.

honestly i could have been tempted by the 2k3s if they kept the playmates aesthetic going, making them more than just.. show-accurate. I get why they went that route because nobody ELSE is doing that, but they would have fit a lot better on the shelf that way. could do crossovers between universes.
>>
>>11239450
>and they turned out great
Wave 7 really is lackluster at best. It was a 2 year wait for more of Super7's mundane attempt at toys. There's still loose hips on the figures (Guerilla Gorilla is huge but he can't hold his weapons, and the bazooka makes him fall over). It's just a culmination of their lack of knowing how to make proper action figures.

And then if you ignore those as "well they were still old figures" you can jump to wave 10 with exceptionally badly designed figures like Karai and April. They have reference on how to do good toys all around them, very tons of companies. But they're stuck in this bubble.
>>
>>11239450
>That Rat King that was just posted a couple days ago looks like the best RK yet.

Look at the whole figure, it's still glossy. The browns are so pale because they're dyeing plastic, not painting. It gives them their signature glossy/waxy appearance. There's two or three hits of actual paint. And the articulation is still as bad as ever. I don't think the elbows even get full range...

They begged Playmates to be able to do a figure closer to the vintage only to put out more of status quo.
>>
>>11239585
I haven't had that issue with my Sgt. Donkey Kong, but I can't get him to hold the bazooka in the way I want. His hips were solid for me though, a first for the line.
>>
>>11239585
Closer to a 3 year wait on wave 7. No explanation ever offered either.
>>
>>11239693
Ok and what about Donnie’s lab and the first turtles two pack? People waited months with no updates despite saying they’re shipping. Every company has delays.
>>
>>11239702
Bitch, fuck off with that whataboutism shit. Super7 delays are not like that and are in fact worse and detrimental to the health of the line. It shows a lack of control that Super7 has over the product, over the factories, and how amateur they somehow still are 11 waves of toys in.

You are pathetic.
>>
>>11239702
Apples to oranges. One is a few months delay at most caused by a shipping system screw up after they changed over to a new setup (source nerdzoic). Something they're actively fixing and making up for. The other is waves constantly out of order and one wave in particular disappearing for two entire years. Yes, delays happen, that is true, but Super7 is on another level. And instead of fixing things they cover their ears and move ahead.
>>
>>11239190
Haha!
Again, I cry out into the void of the internet and the gods of e-commerce answer my call! I swear, every time I post here about being unsure of the status of a preorder, I get some shipping confirmation within a few hours.
So, anyone waiting on 5ktoys, you should get those second payment requests, because I did at midnight est.
>>
>>11239728
>The other is waves constantly out of order and one wave in particular disappearing for two entire years.
4H had a massive delay with the Poxxus wave resulting in it releasing well over a year past it's eta (and I think the preorder for that went up around the same time as S7 wave 7, end of 2021 when Covid was still fucking shit up) and they also moved waves up in production resulting in things being released out of order. It doesn't ameliorate Super7's past fuck ups and constant QC issues, but I don't think it is a coincidence that these waves from seperate (but somewhat linked) companies were both delayed for so long.

The hands have THICK fingers so to get anything in them you have to heat and warp them because the handles are also VERY large. Also I stand corrected on my statement >>11239676 here, as soon as I took him out of the cabinet to take the hand picture his hips gave out like the rest, almost 0 friction.
>>
>>11239676
>>11239852
ahhhh. yeah those handles don't look like a good shape either. I'm only getting this guy on a reeeal heavy discount. and i'm gonna be interested in whether there's such a thing as a dye marker, because painting the hands would just have the paint rub off when you put the weapons in.

Uh oh, if you get an extra lab in your box be on the lookout for an email from NECA. If you return it, you get store credit, but if you don't they might ban you from the online store. I hope nobody cracked their extras open before they got this.
>>
>>11240201
It's going to be so funny seeing people cry and freak out and then get destroyed for it. Love it.
>>
>>11240201
I got an extra and randy can piss up a rope, their shipping error is not my problem
>>
>>11240220
It is your problem, you're a thief.
>>
>>11240220
Going to be nice watching you suffer
>>
>>11240227
I’ve sworn off the N*ca store, I’m only buying from BBTS now so their threats of limiting my access won’t hurt me. I could just create a new account with a different address if I change my mind, so what leverage does malding randy have over me anyhow
>>
>>11240231
Tick tock, the walls are closing in. Suffer, suffer, suffer.
>>
>>11240201
on one hand, that's a very polite way to handle something like this, at a time when a slight problem can tank a company or even an industry
on the other hand, they have no legal recourse here whatsoever, and they really needn't have put in a threat, even one as toothless as that. you are 100% within your rights to be an asshole and sell the second one online. And then someday when someone else fucks _you_ over, you'll sit going 'why me?'
>>
>>11240242
I'm glad they put the threat in, honestly. People need to learn they can't get away with stuff like that. Toy collectors are a shitty bunch.
>>
>>11240221
Actually it's legally the recipients, it's come up a few times in the last decade since shopping online is now the norm. I'd rather take the extra credit on the store but if >>11240220 doesn't want to abide by their request it is his right to do so. I wonder how widespread it is, if they had to send notices out to people. Maybe a system error screwed with the counts showing up on the packing orders?
>>
>>11240246
I hope they bring the full force of the law down on him, it'll be rightfully deserved it seems.

>>
>>11240252

>>
>>11240201
Someone in this very thread said that the claims of anons receiving extra labs were lies and that NECA don't make mistakes like this. One day he will learn to shut the fuck up, but it appears today is not that day.
>>11240242
This is the most based take in response to this incident. Nobody is legally required to return it, and NECA are within their right to ban anyone from their store who doesn't return it. The most important thing to remember is that karma is a bitch.
>>
>>11240265
They are legally require to return it. And it'll be so fun listening to you complain about being banned for you deciding to keep stolen product.
>>
>>11240267
Your knowledge of the law is as great as your knowledge of the toy industry. Nonexistent.
The reason why they are using a $100 voucher as a carrot on a stick is because they have absolutely NO LEGAL RECOURSE.
I didn't order the shoe box with free foam board, so I won't be banned. Like I said, one day you will learn to shut the fuck up and stop making ridiculous assertions that prove you have no idea what you are talking about.
>>

Imagine that. Keeping the unordered merchandise isn't illegal. Sending this email out demanding the return of it is illegal. If >>11240220 really wants to fuck Randy in all of his holes, I hope he forwards this email to the FTC.
>>
>>11240279
The FTC'd side with NECA, since he's keeping stolen product. So, go on, do it. It'll be funny seeing him get screwed for trying to fuck with NECA.

>Moreover, customers who receive unordered merchandise are legally entitled to treat the merchandise as a gift.
The Lab is legally considered a gift. The email sent out asking for it's return is illegal.

Your brain seems to be having trouble processing information, because I already told you I didn't order it. I can make a more structurally stable diorama for under a hundred dollarydoos. One with a road level that can actually hold the weight of the Turtle Van and the giant Krang that's coming. Can your foam board do that?
>>
>>11240295
worldwide distribution of toys really needs to improve. the companies would make billions more dollars if it was as easy to give foreigners american toys as it was american tv shows and movies.

yeah! keep the best of both worlds, why not? give people options. that's what Ultimates have been about from the start. you can have turtles like the old toys, or you can have general kinda 2003esque heads that can work with anything.
I do wish they had given us a normal Splinter head instead of JUST the one based on the original toy's painting mistake. buuut I don't want the pupils...

>>
>>11240324
i would say that it looks like a playmates-ified version of the game design. The game was going for a stylized, toonier version of the cartoon designs, so it made sense to translate that to a bit mroe realistic for the gritty sculpted playmates style.
>>
>>11240328
I just want Splinter cause he's sexy.
>>
>>11240328
you know, I would put serious consideration toward any of shredder's various mech suits, and honestly several of his costume-modifications were gorgeous.. it'd be easy to headcanon them as just different suits for good ol blue-helmet purple-cape shredder to wear. or robot duplicates he made.

2k3 splinter? the guy who shows 4kids has no idea how to draw animals? I dunno man
I mean i have nothing against a version of Splinter being gray, and on paper it's not a bad design overall, but... he's too goofy and angular, with big looney tunes ass three-toed feet with big claws. It kinda depended on the artist, and I would hope s7 would go very stylized with him.

I mean he's no 2012 Splinter, but I wouldn't say no. I just liked his look. He's probably the fourth on the list of hot Splinters. 2012 being tops, then Fred Wolf, and then Mako Splinter.
>>
>>11240324
I mean they were going for something in the middle, not quite the game and different enough to appease playmates. I admit he's not quite the game's version, but the head will sell it on the shelf. I'm planning on sexy rat king being the jekyll to neca rat king's hyde for my personal headcanon display, so I'm grateful for the "normal human" head option.

>>11240325
I really was disappointed that rocksteady, bebop, baxter, or splinter didn't come with modernized heads like the turtles did. I've mentioned it before but wingnut's modern head is fucking awesome in hand, and I bought Ace Duck JUST because the classic cigar chomping cartoon character vibe hit me right in the nostalgia, and then I ended up liking him in hand. Seriously, alt heads should be the number one accessory for a line like this.

>>11240347
