The designer "Arthuriel" did that first, then he did 1:8, 1:16, and 1:32 scale versions. Unfortunately he never built any of them in real life and they all contain some pieces that don't exist in his chosen colors. This is the 1:16 version, only a few pieces didn't exist and had to be subbed, easy to fix. 1:8 looks doable too albeit with more subs. I plugged the 1:1 model into webrick out of curiosity too but it was already five figures worth of bootlegos with like a third of it nonexistent.

Nostalgia tourist here, in light of pic related having all of it's cool modular stuff that lego space used to have, I think it would be pretty neat and importantly (for lego) very low investment if they would release just a big parts packs of blacktron themed parts (eg lots and lots of black, yellow and trans-red/yellow angular parts, wings, weird stuff etc)

yes, there's always buying parts individually, but having some restriction is always a fun challenge, I want to buy more the lego in the style i remember liking. I’ve dumped for this set more times than you can rebuild it but this is just an example of what I’m talking about. Broken bricks, terribly aligned prints on minifigs, and 90 stickers in sets for a $100 plus price tag in most cases. I get more enjoyment from a throw away $5 bootlego from five below than I ever could spending the same money on a CMF. Then again I’m not a brand loyal retard. It’s not about the money it’s about getting enjoyment from the money you spend. I’m often disappointed by Lego these days. Rarely do I get the same disappointment from bootlegos but the bar is also a lot lower.

I did the LMS Explorer posted upthread with bootlegos. All the dark turquoise gets expensive with real lego. I would say the quality of the solid color bricks was good, felt pretty much like real lego. The quality of the transparent bricks however, pretty bad. I ordered from webrick so they come from two different suppliers and I chose the "prefer premium" option in their file uploader. It may be the transparent ones were not from their "premium" supplier.

I had an entire multiple 30+ gallon tubs of my childhood lego that were sitting in them sealed in my attic for several decades, opened it up a few years ago to sort through all the pieces and see what I could save / sell and many of the white pieces were completely yellowed. Now maybe some of it was from my childhood but I never really played with my lego anywhere but our windowless basement.

the blue pieces too, most of them were brittle, and this was stuff from the late 80s to early 00s and so many of the blue pieces were completely brittle. Even the original dark grey and light grey pieces were yellowed out. Some pieces weren't yellowed and I was able to save them though.

I've said in another thread (long ago and was viciously attacked for it) that LEGO seem to base a lot of their recent product decisions on what products of their competitors already sell well (i.e. Notre Dame, solar system model, microscale Hogwarts and Grounds, 2025's Hogwarts Express booknook and licenced booknooks in general).

Now they"re taking over the Star Trek licence from Bluebrixx and at the same time attack Bluebrixx' pirates theme with One Piece and PotC sets. I really think there is a pattern of asserting market dominance here.

I think I will cave in and in 2025 I will buy all LotR sets

Happened in Star Trek Online, the game was actually good for the first time in years and they had a well received DS9 story line, then Paramount got more involved and they dropped everything to do Discovery content. I was going through my mini figs and noticed the difference in Lego head tops. The majority are hollow but this one is stamped Lego. What does this imply? Almost all my legos are from the 90’s and very early 2000’s.
