Did you guys pick up anything during the 12 Days of Figures event? I got lucky and got both Simon Belmont (already arrived) and Red Scout (hasn’t shipped yet). Would’ve got the Pale Man, but I woke up late that day and he was already sold out. Still crazy they had some old desirable figures like that.

Veebs has a new interview up with Trevor, who is overseeing the Sesame Street line as well as TMNT. Turns out Trevor was working at Palisades right as they were starting their own Sesame Street line and then...sadly, only their Grover made it out and the company went under.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVNOaifBDsk

Cliff notes version:
>first three figures have shipped, Bert and Ernie will be hitting soon
>Bert's unibrow is swappable between the faces. He also has removable hair for later accessories like a hat.
>Focusing on the mid 70s and mid 80s Sesame Street
>The Count's cape pattern had to be custom made to try to match -one version- of the Count's cape, if the line goes deep enough, they may do another.
>The Count has a crook to his mouth when closed, possibly from how he's puppeted, and they made sure to include that on the figure
>Sesame Street workshop has been extremely helpful in getting them the reference they need for things like the back of the Count's jacket.
>Big Bird is coming. Was TEASED HEAVILY with Trevor miming how big the box would need to be. "Not that I'd know..."
>Cookie Monster may be in some level of production too. Wasn't confirmed but got slipped into conversation when discussing the early stuff they were working on. "Every character we have coming up is like...furry and blue."
>Some characters will have hinged mouths if they can do it without hurting the look of the figure

Has there been a more precise release date for the Evil Dead Ash & Cheryl pack besides Q1 yet?

No, nothing yet unfortunately. I would have to imagine we'll see it soon, since most of these companies work to get stuff out before Chinese New Year.

>Focusing on the mid 70s and mid 80s Sesame Street
Oof so no Elmo? Crazy they wouldn’t do the most popular character.
>>
>>11280135
Blaine will push for it to be made. He is the protege of Kevin Clash.
>>
>>11280135
Elmo is definitely not the most popular character.
>>
>>11280135
elmo is inevitable unless the line gets cancelled but i don't blame them for wanting to do all the classic characters first
>>
>>11280199
Like it or not, he’s definitely the most well known character.
>>
>>11280218
Absolutely not. Elmo is such a small, nothing part of Sesame Street. Especially for actual fans of the Muppets and Sesame Street.
>>
>>11280226
You pulling my leg?
>>
>>11280226
Actual fans of Sesame Street are either 4yo or retarded. And not retarded in the 4chan sense. Actually retarded. Developmentally stunted.
It's one thing to be a manchild who likes Ninja Turtles, but being an adult fan of a show that exists to teach preschoolers the fundamentals of literacy and numeracy? Even Thomas the Tank Engine fans have more legitimacy.
>>
>>11280247
That's cool man, absolutely nothing you said is true in the slightest. You don't seem to understand the power of Muppet fans.
>>
>>11280226

>>
>>11280257
Go look at any poll and Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird are guaranteed top 3. Elmo is a pop culture icon.
>>
>>11280257
>You don't seem to understand the power of Muppet fans
Autism isn't a power, no matter how much The Predator tried to tell us it was.
And considering the last Muppet movie couldn't even crack first place when it's competitor was Divergent, I think "the power of Muppet fans" speaks for itself.
>>
>>11280272
Not to actual Muppet fans. The ones buying these figures.
>>
>>11280275
Are you convinced an Elmo figure would fail?
>>
>>11280276
Don't worry, when they eventually make Elmo, he will champion NECA for making such a popular character. Same as how big head April was fine, until NECA decided it wasn't and needed to be redone.
>>
>>11280276
It has nothing to do with failing, it has everything to do with Elmo not being an important character for the line. He's one of the last characters that people buying this stuff actually wants. Guy Smiley is higher up than Elmo.

Elmo is the ONLY Seasame Street figure I'd even buy since I had several plushes of him growing up. Anyone who thinks Elmo isn't the most iconic Sesame Street character for Millenials/early Gen Z is out of their minds. Tickle Me Elmo caused brawls and riots when it came out.
>>
>>11280309
Yeah for shitty moms and brats. Real Sesame Street fans don't want Elmo. You are insane if you think that red fluffball means anything or is high on anyone's list.
>>
>>11280318
>Real Sesame Street fans don't want Elmo
But how do you know this? You can’t just speak for all Sesame Street fans.
>>
>>11280350
Because the people that are talking about these figures aren't talking about Elmo. There's dozens of classic Sesame Street characters people want before that.
>>

I think most people would’ve preferred Elmo before Bert and Ernie

So I don't know if anyone else here noticed about that "12Days of Christmas" thing, but here's what happened. The 24th, scheduled to go into work, had covid and pneumonia and WAY to stubborn to go to doctors. Called out, taking DOUBLE the absences for calling out on a holiday. SO, I'm there at 4am, I'm having fever dreams, I click on NECA because, well, fever dreams, and realize they updated the toy list for that day FIVE hours early. I ordered $100 of figures, getting Betty White and the expensive "Red Scout" from Fortress 2. Notice a few hours later, they reset the list, deleting the "Sold Out" figures. Fever dream or not, I thought, "Hey... maybe it reset me being able to buy just 1 figure type on 1 day". It did. I proceeded to get another 5, with that Red Scout again. ...I then got more curious, did it again and again. So yeah, 5 times in total... could have kept going, but didn't want to press my luck on the orders being deleted. If the stacks of NECA boxes blocking my door like a snowstorm are any indication, it worked. They really did run the promo shitty, not sticking to their "9AM EST drop time) every morning, sometimes an hour early, sometimes 5, sometimes NO toys shown for hours... So I'm not shocked they fucked up the "only buy once a day" thing either at some point. Always follow that hunch.
>>
>>11279850
Totally missed Day 1. Fuckers. But every day there was expensive figs on eBay they had up, I grabbed them. Like I said in the post above this, they were pretty much dicks in sticking to the drop times THEY stated. Feel bad for anyone that came at the "right" time, just to find they'd been fucked with "sold out".
>>
>>11281107
>>11281135
>Feel bad for anyone that came at the "right" time, just to find they'd been fucked with "sold out".
Yet you bought 4-5 of these expensive figures to I’m assuming scalp? Do you not realize you were taking those from other collectors? Hypocrite.
>>
>>11280309
So you're not the target audience for the line, and hence Elmo doesn't need to be made.

Elmo is for retards and pedophiles. Granted, there's plenty of those in existence.

>>
>>11281620
It probably will do well. I despise the thing, a character from long after my time, and an annoying one. But you have a generation or two that were FEVERISH over the red retard.
>>
Despite the crazy christmas sale, I'm still fairly "new" to NECA figures. I've seen their old stuff (oh god, the paint job on the poor Succubus from Castlevania), I had someone send me the Krang body (baby Shredder missing his left leg entirely), and I'm looking at the 5 Robocops I got during the xmas sale, with only ONE having a decent paint job on his head... But I also have gotten The Creature, Elvira, Comic Con ALF, Ben Cooper kids which are fine. So was there a certain "year" where their quality jumped forward, or do they still have occasional issues?
>>
>>11281696
They've been consistently very good for the last 20some decades now.

>baby Shredder missing his left leg entirely

>>
>>11281697
>They've been consistently very good for the last 20some decades now
This is true. My 1865 NYCC exclusive Florence Trenchard from Our American Cousin is made from the finest beech wood and has very accurate sculpting for its time. The paint is well done, but has started to chip after over 150 years of frequent posing.
>>
>>11281713

Here we go again. A retard said that very same thing the first time I'd mentioned it months ago. "Herp derp, it's just 1 piece, guhAWW".
No, no it's not you idiot. The legs are independent, snap-on.
>>
>>11281718
So you're a liar, ok.

What I don't get is, you CLEARLY don't own the fucking thing, have ZERO idea how it's constructed... but you're on here just being a contrarian because... ...like what, your dad work at NECA or something? The shilling for NECA's fuckups throughout this to[pic and others is staggering. It's like watching a really sloppy blowjob, complete with duck quacking sounds... ...over a toy company that keeps fucking up?

wtf? That's how it came in-package. The thing wasn't even rattling around in there, it's just absent. AND, it also proves the dope saying "it's just 1 piece" is talking out their ass, just playing goalie for NECA without even owning what they're talking about.
>>
>>11281727
This is where Columbo would start calling you out for your obvious bullshit
>>
I think the thing I've forgotten is, I can't actually "see" the apologist I'm arguing with in this NECA topic. apparently neca had plans for a samara morgan figure but couldn't secure the rights… this was back in the early 2000s and they came up with the concept and everything but dreamworks didn't let them go through with it. the figure would have come with a television set and a well and samara's hair would have been flexible. i would prefer a sadako figure from the original japanese movie myself but at this point i would take anything. what do you think the chances are neca will reapproach this idea and would you buy it if they did?

Apologies if this has been asked before! I can’t help but noticing that all of these blind boxes seem to mostly contain figures that have been the standard peg warmers in the collector’s section at any Target I’ve been to over the past year. I’ve also noticed that NECA products have been pretty absent from Targets more recently. Lots of Funko Pops and DC McFarlane stuff though.
So did NECA buy back their surplus Target inventory for these blind boxes? If so, did they do it to make room for new products or are Target stores no longer offering NECA figures?
>>
>>11283988
They only did it to quickly clear up space from older product hanging around, yeah. Target's getting new stuff still, even on their website. New Universal Monster Toony Terrors, Alf, Nightmare Before Christmas, new TMNT stuff...

Yeah my Sadako set me back £130 on the aftermarket but she’s my favourite figure. Three different heads, removable torso so you can pose her coming out of the supplied TV or on all fours with a special ‘crawling’ lower half and hair sculpt. There isn’t a great deal of detail on her though.

Why is that?
>>

Store resets, Chinese New Year on the 29th, most companies try to get stuff made and shipped before that, but if they can't, then it has to wait till after.

So where is the NECA Pamela all of you insisted was real?
>>

You mean the one the sculptor already confirmed was real? Nobody said it was coming out right away, so likely this year.

Disagree on Krampus being overpriced, it's a single use mold with tons of sculpting and paint apps and chains. Price makes sense.

I don't get what makes Orlok overrated. These listings don't really make sense.

>I don't get what makes Orlok overrated
That one was divisive, but the reasoning was that he’s not really scary and doesn’t look like he does in the movie. He looks more like he does in that SpongeBob episode.

>and doesn’t look like he does in the movie
He looks exactly like he does in the movie, I get the feeling none of you have watched it.

Starts off directly in the trashbin where neca belongs. XD

Going to have to agree. That Spongebob shit has rotted people's brains. Sad to see , especially on such an important movie.
>>
NECA's got an Elvis Stitch a-comin'. Looks like it'll have minimal articulation. Neat.

...Have you never seen Lilo and Stitch?
>>
>>11290645
You are a lost cause then. Cause no, this is not your insane made up crossover. This is shit that's been going on ever since the movie came out. This is nothing new.
>>
>>11290880
Dressing up as Elvis, yes. They've stuck Stitch in every Elvis costume, hell, every KIND of costume imaginable ever since the movie came out all those years ago. There's no negotiations that have to take place that haven't already. Plus this particular look for Stitch has been marketed in plushes and vinyls galore for over a year and a half at least, maybe longer. There's even one of him in a gold costume that was really popular around one of the Haulathons.

You want to justify a shitposter that was making things up. You need to learn to not be so gullible to think a Stitch costume change is some big crossover.

Even Super7 has sold Stitch in Elvis costumes. It's not a big deal. Funko thrives off it. Stitch in an Elvis costume is the biggest nothing variant ever. The only real news here is that this might be an action figure, and/or might be a new line of Stitch figures. Or it might just be another one off. That's what we're waiting to see.

>a Disney animated movie aimed at elementary school girls.
Also wtf? You need some happiness in your life if you think that. Lilo and Stitch is an incredible movie that is deeper than most of the shit we get these days.

One got a myster box?

Microsoft and Storm Collectibles just decided not to renew their Gears of War license, despite the fact they had two figures for pre-order and a new game will be coming out.

Could NECA potentially get the license back? There's time that they could have figures out on shelves for the release of Gears E-Day, instead of Storm taking years and years.
>>
>>11291262
IS there a new Gears of War game coming? They probably could get it back, but I don't know that they'd want to. Though there's a lot of figures they could re-release if they wanted...those were pretty cool at the time.
>>
>>11291263
Yeah Gears E-day. Probably 2026 or 2027. It's a prequel set before the first game, so I think they could reuse a lot of stuff.

IIRC Randy was always a personal fan of Gears of War and wanted to keep the line going longer than it did.

The plushes are from Kidrobot which Neca owns so makes sense they would be the ones to release a figure.
