What do you think is the most optimal Mario set ideas that would both justify the need for mini-figures, be unique enough to not let collectors of the current sets feel ripped off, and would put it at $50 or less?

Would pick related with the mainline cast (heroes only) be too obscure and not normie-friendly enough? Peach's airplane from Sunshine and Superstar Saga would be cool as well.

Spacebase is still a WIP but I found a crater baseplate out and about today and wanted to make a battle scene.

This is fun AF. I was a bionicle+small sets kid growing up, only had one big set (OG hogwarts castle) and it crumbled to pieces when it had to be moved from A to B after being built so I've never really had a big space to place lego figures in like this before. To me they always explored the world and had their own lego structures they returned to.

Kind of had that with nexo knights. Sada I have to bring it up. The first year, if you ask me has a solid villain faction that can be added to a 2007 lineup pretty easily. Pretend they are fire orcs or demons and they work really well I think. Everything else from the theme can be disregarded.

I think there are many reasons for this. Comics tend to go in waves and with the DEI push by marvel and to a lesser extent DC many fans are turned off by the narratives now. Set Name = Enchanted Island
Piece Count = 428
Here we have the flagship for the Islander theme, the Enchanted Island. This set is somewhat reminiscent of The Imperial Trading post, as they both come on two 32 x 32 stud Baseplates, they both contain two boats, they both have a number of structures rather than one and they are both the main sets of that faction. I am lucky enough to have both here in front of me whilst I write, and I have to say I love them both. The problem I have is that I can see the flaws with this set far easier than I can with its counterpart, for example, the bridge is placement. We have a beautiful printed river but the design of the set is such that the bridge just goes next to it rather than over (that’s just stupid). Another problem I have is with the structure that the bridge is connected to, it seems to be there for no reason, it’s not a hut, or a storehouse or a lookout post, or anything, it’s just a building that’s sole purpose is to have the bridge connected to it. Despite these flaws I still love the set, we see a beautiful fireplace and pot (for the island girl to use obviously) I nice statue (which also doubles as a jail) a cool small canoe and a brilliant pirate jolly boat with two sails (the one at the front is exclusive to this set). The set is interesting and original and just like the trading post is somewhere for a pirate ships to attack and loot (though the islanders armed spears and bows would probably struggle against cannons and muskets), though I feel that the pirates would attack this place for the croc meat and Island girl (that’s where the Wenches come from) rather than the gold.

Just made a tiny change, made the bridge towers grey and used the dark red studs and pieces to make three stripes on each end side to make them more movie-like. I also put 4 cannons on each side instead of the grills, though I needed to borrow 2 from another set leftovers (executor)

I realize the irony of posting this on /toy/, but I don't understand how people don't outgrow Dragonball Z once they finish the eighth grade.

Floating around an idea from a previous thread, LEGO should release large themed parts packs for old themes. EG a classic space parts pack with just loads of grey wing pieces, some blue and some trans yellow.
It would probably have pretty low design and marketing costs and I'd assume would sell well with both AFOLs, creative children and also parents looking to buy their children something that has more replayability than just a model they'll build once and forget about.

I try to come up with a backstory and personality along with a name for each new crew member I add to my Pirate crew, my Imperial soldiers or any Castle characters I have.
