How long do you guys usually wait after glossing to apply decals? I did the coat yesterday morning. Waiting until tomorrow should be enough in any case, shouldn't it?
>>

These decals were applied like 3 hours after an AK gloss coat, assisted with Mr. Mark Setter

What are your honest opinion on Italeri and Revell? For some reason, they're the most common brands in my place.

Hit or miss. Some of the newer molds can surprise you with quality, but those rat bastards are notorious for reboxing old shit kits in weird scales.
Always consult Scalemates before getting one.
>>
>>11303914
Revell Germany and Italeri both have some decent kits but they're really bad about reboxing garbage old molds too. That's the one nice thing about recent Airfix- even though their kits aren't as nice as some of the competition they've gotten much better at distinguishing the shitty repops from the new molds.

Revell USA exists to repop kits from the 70s and 80s at the lowest possible cost to fill hobby lobby and belongs in the trash.

consoomed another kit, il never complete my backlog, what color should i paint it? it looks good in so many diffirent color combos
>>

I'm doing an Italeri Corsair II reboxed from ESCI and holy shit it is diabolical. Worst fit I've ever encountered.
>>
>>11303914
What they said. Ask Scalemates first before buying anything Revell or Italeri if you don't want to get a POS older than your mom.

Conversely, also consult Scalemates before buying kits from Ukraine/Korea/Russia because there might be a cheaper Revell rebox somewhere.

When the fuck will the deluge of tired WW2 slop from China end?
Truly, the death of Dragon has been a disaster for mankind.

>Revell USA exists to repop kits from the 70s and 80s at the lowest possible cost to fill hobby lobby
That's really most, if not all, of the American model kit brands still standing.
>>
>>11304283
This is true, and Revell's probably the least bad of them. They occasionally have something halfway decent like the F-18E or F-22 or the new F-15 kit.

Still only good for practice before moving on to better kits but at least something that can look decent with a bit of skill.
>>
>>11304017
Airfix also actually put the tooling date on the boxes and now brand their ancient kits with Airfix Classics

Are the new tool Airfix kits any good? Was thinking about buying the new tool version to compare to this vintage one I just built
>>
>>11304538
c'mon man, airfix are some of the cheapest kits on the shelf, just get it and compare
>>
>>11304538
Slightly worse TrumpetBoss quality but it's well-researched enough and good for something with a Made in India label.
