Welcome to the Fashion Doll General!A thread for discussion of fashion dolls including Barbie, Disney, LOL OMG, Rainbow High, Monster High, Licca-chan etc but not BJD. There is a BJD general over in /jp/.Other toys considered dolls as well as girl collectable toys that are related to dolls or can be used as accessories to dolls are also welcome such as LOL, Shopkins, Polly Pocket and the like.*Reminder to ignore trolling, bait and off topic posts instead of responding.*Previous Thread: >>11509948>Archived Threads:https://archive.palanq.win/toy/search/subject/Fashion%20Doll%20General/>Helpful Links:Fixing frizz:https://youtu.be/Q5BixBJG-Ik Dealing with glue seepage:https://youtu.be/JNT7EG507iA Materials for customizing face, hair, and clothes:https://youtu.be/iBtrDdHA8y8 Sewing pattern books from Google+, reuploaded:https://mega.nz/folder/iFd3wapa#B70grHUe4xsTkLU_s8Ag_Q
So, Playmobil got both Barbie and Monster High licenses, if anyone's interested:>>11532255
>>11534240>Witch has green skin like the movie>Dorothy has silver slippers like the bookWicked is such a shit shot I hate it.
>>11534257I loved wicked
>>11534257>>11534437I wonder how the movie makers will dance around the fact that Liir is literally a cheating, deadbeat faggot when they inevitably make "Son of a Witch." The dude dumps his pregnant girlfriend just to be with his gay lover.
>>11534257I am indifferent to Wicked

Any lego size customizable and posable doll?
>>11535020I like it, Frankie always looks great with bangs.
>>11534243reminds me of those girl legos from the 90s. The ones we all got on clearance. They had joints like the technic guys
GHOULIA AND POSSIBLY GIL??????!!!
Why is that whenever a company starts a line of action dolls, it dies early instead of thriving?Girls like action play too, so it doesn't seem like dolls would need to stick to hanging around the house or going to high school to be successful.
>>11537316I'm guessing most girls who like action play would rather just stick to action figures, and plenty of female action figures already exist. The features that make action dolls distinct from action figures like brushable hair and fabric clothes are probably just more frustrating to deal with if a child isn't that into the fashion aspect in the first place.
I love Licca desing, but most of them look cheap. Because they can't maintain the quality. There are some dolls that are absolutely gorgeous, like
>>11537586This is a Licca that I liked that it is not so expensive.
>>11537329Yeah, I suppose that's the answer. The superhero genre has always made heavy use of dressing up and changing identity to move the protagonist from one kind of plot to another (like action scenes to relationship drama), but such play patterns could be more frustrating than relatable to most girls.(Me, I would put a fancy dress on a Barbie because she was a spy infiltrating a high class party.)
>>11537593This other Licca is absolutely gorgeous, but it costs up to $500
>>11537635Another beautiful Licca that costs 500 dollars on eBay
>>11537103Gimme Manny
>>11537687You're not gonna get Manny
Barbie dolls used to be so pretty
Because we can't talk about semi-realistic BJDs like the ones women usually like. Moids like anime-style, and I don't want to go to the /jp/ cause it's full of coomers.
How can I get Blythe clothes like this?
>>11537798Make a separate thread please. We don't want this thread filled with retarded debates over fakies which is what always happens
>>11537103>>11537687we aren't getting either :(https://old.reddit.com/r/MonsterHigh/comments/1mxb76r/were_not_getting_gil/
>>11537798It literally says "but not BJD" in the OP.
>>11537586Get a Little Factory/Licca Castle and some clothing from etsy. The Castles have a high quality look to them and then custom clothing will use more textured fabrics and not sublimated printed designs. A lot of Blythe stuff looks beautiful and fits them. You can swap the Castle's body too to a Neemo or Obitsu, or even a MtM Barbie for more articulation.>>11537955>old dot redditA fellow UI changer enjoyer I see. Also it sucks they keep remaking the same dolls when the old lines focused on making a lot of new characters, I'm really really tired of seeing the umpteenth Frankie or whatever.
>>11537819Etsy, or learn to sew.
>>11536887Bellville! I loved those so much.
What's the name of this Poppy Parker doll? She looks so feminine.
>>11538577I think that it's the same doll
>>11538750Jem is from the 80s you dipshit ass fuck
>>11537819Aliexpress
>>11539262You mean tariff bomb screw site? Hmmm no.
>>11534257iirc it's because mgm still owns the rights to the ruby red slippers and universal didn't wanna pony up to use them. super fucking lame
>>11539275Learn to sew then
Sdung dolls are cute as hell

Black doll has one of those ghetto hair caps black women wear, because they don't have real hair. Literally says:>hair scareThe sneakers were a nice touch.
>>11538750 You had best be trollin or you are too young to post here. Homo.
>>11538750You may be the stupidest person ever.
>>11541047Sleeping bonnets were worn by white women first, they just stopped wearing them because hair fashion changed, they're coming back in "fashion" for them too though because if you have long or curly hair there's hair health benefits to a sleeping bonnet
>>11541047
>>11541491
>>11541494
>>11534240How do the Wicked dolls go on barbie made to move bodies? I would love a little Dorothy. I also like Glinda's outfits but I can't stand the Ari sculpt, she looks like she's just mimicked me in falsetto like a little shit eater
Still no pics of the actual Destination Gore-Geous Oasis dolls, right? Just the boxes? I really hope they are good.
>>11535020I've never bought a Monster High doll before, but I might have to bite the bullet on that one
Dudes, hear me out... Monster High x The Grinch.
>>11542274Making a green girl with no fur would be the only cute option but they already did that. Also they only do horror/goth IPs.
>>11542362The Grinch is very scary actually.
>>11542401 Grinch could come with Max. Maybe do an "older Cindy-lu as well
>>11534807>Liir is literally a cheating, deadbeat faggot when they inevitably make "Son of a Witch." The dude dumps his pregnant girlfriend just to be with his gay lover. He was literally raped by Candle, dipshit. He doesn't owe her anything
>>11542511Id kill for the Grinch with Martha May Whovier
https://youtu.be/cA2lOTHeqpc?si=sgQM93mg-05SjuHaJust recently found out about this dolls line. How come this did not become a continue and popular toy/ dolls line ? They are beautiful and have great articulation.
>>11542871The dolls are pretty and the clothes are good
>>11542876>>11542871They even had a great looking playset.Speaking about dolls playset in the 70's. Where they more realistic and close to real life? Its seems more realistic and close to real life, less dreamy and all about pink
The clothes arrived finally. I wasn't sure what was going to fit this body, so I went with the trench coat look.
I ordered these men's boots too as a backup in case the heels didn't fit. I see now it was unnecessary, since I can just cut off the feet and stick the boots on the stumps, and it works just fine, though the footwear is supposed to be designed to hold actual feet.
>>11542871 She looks like she fucks.
>>11542871 I like the stressing of "play refreshments" and play stereo" The day / night option is good.
>>11542871Probably just couldnt keep up with the output of Barbie dolls, tragic because she and her playsets were really nice, I thrifted the hair switching doll a few months back, idk if I posted about it or not, I think I did
>>11542878Her playsets were elite
>>11543016>>11543025Cute spy/assassin look
>>11542871I had a Tiffany Taylor that I found while thrifting. She's a VERY big doll at 19" inches. So she was too big to interact with your regular 12" Barbies and clothes were hard to find. Then there was the blonde/brunette hair switching that wasn't all that great. How the gimmick worked was that you'd turn a skullcap ontop of the head to the desired top color and flop that color over to hide the other color. You couldn't style her hair into a bun or pigtails because that would impede the hair changing gimmick. So yeah, that's why Tiffany Taylor didn't go over well. I'd also hazard that the 70's energy crisis didn't help. lots of toy makers were scaling down their toys due to the rising cost of plastics.
>>11543212Oh wow, I actually remember this set! I think one of my older cousins had it. Holy shit.
>>11543630Didn't they upgrade it to become Tuesday Taylor so the scale can be fit with other dolls? Like show in >>11542878It still didn't help the doll become popular?
>>11543749Yeah they made her regular sized as Tuesday Taylor, probably just couldnt compete with Barbies bigger brand output
>shadow high is coming backplease don't fuck them up
>>11543836New collectors dolls
>>11544060She's expanding her life skills, ok?
>>11543212 Okay. I really like this. The modularity and season switching makes it interesting and it looks "real" or at least more real than the pink Barbie messes. Maybe if they made more things like this they wouldn't run into the problems of "pink is for girls" associated sexuality that they are always bitching about. - it's kind of like how LEGO fucked up (but in reverse) LEGO in most of the early advertising had girls and boys playing with LEGO. now they segregate LEGO and blather on about "LEGO for girls."
ID on this doll?
>>11544603I'm pretty sure the doll is a "You can be anything" pop singer Barbie. The dress is from one of the Jurassic World fashion packs for max autistic Barbies.
>>11543863Finally, some good fucking dolls.I'm real tired of the same characters over and over again though. No one needs 5x of the same fucking doll character. I dislike the nosering too.But I am thrilled they have jointed wrists. The multi-colored face and hair looks great.
>>11544967I'd actually prefer them focusing on a core group of character dolls instead of doing like different pink girl #4
>>11544991I definitely prefer the creativity of several different colored dolls and designs rather than Sunny #83
>>11544967>I'm real tired of the same characters over and over again>>11545757>I definitely prefer the creativity of several different colored dolls and designs rather than Sunny #83Speaking of which...
Licca-chan Detective Conan to be released in August
>>11545833Draculaura is cute, i want her.
>>11545757Different strokes i guess
>>11541047white women wear them too, dumbass
>>11543863love these, but the "collector" branding worries me. i dropped off active collecting when shadow high ended, but if its gonna be expensive i don't think it'll bring me back
I wish Mattel would release more Coquette-esque Barbies.
>>11546649Barbie Sweet Tea it's one my holy grail
>>11546649Birthday Wishes Barbie doll 2012 is peak coquette Barbie.
When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Monster High, and my favorite was Cleo. Now that I've grown up, I find them kinda ugly, and the prettiest by far is Draculaura. I had this doll, but it's now damaged and missing its legs. I regret taking it out of the box.
>>11543863They're so ugly
Is this Polly Pocket line still on production?
>>11544781Oh thank you
>>11546675It seems the last release was in December.
Anyone play with these? I had the hotel.
>>11546649Deluxe Style Midge doll fits that aesthetic
>>11546736Sure but they made her rare
>>11546779They made the prettiest the rarest. Diversity kill Barbie.
>>11546817Diversity isnt the problem, their laziness to understand and keep up with modern fashion, fear of heavier makeup, and their refusal to move on from Millie is killing Barbie
>>11546853I don't want to buy darkies, faties or legless.
>>11546736She would look better with a more realistic shade of red hair.
>>11546675>>11546678Shit. I missed out on this Polly Pocket doll. I can't find her anymore. They used to be so common and so cheap. My local supermarket used to be stocked with these warming the pegs until recently. Just when I decided to get one they were all gone.
>>11546913Then don't lmao
>>11543016this is so cute nonnie, cheers
>>11547126Isn't that more of a Mattel problem? The merchant shouldn't sell what the goyim won't buy. But Mattel does it anyway and it all ends up unsold in the clearance aisle. For what?
>>11548001I don't care i buy what I want and don't give a shit about the things I don't want
>>11546646Apparently they’re only $30
