Son of a bitch. They're probably moving them onto Prime because Amazon MGM is making the movie. Fuck that noise though, I'm not paying for streaming. Maybe they'll re-release the series on DVD/Blu-Ray.
>>
>>11588343
>Are you excited for the 2026 movie?
I'm becoming excited. Less for the film itself and more just for the brand to be put back into the mainstream consciousness.
I've resolved myself to see the film regardless of quality purely because I want MOTU to do well.

nu shera poster is posting here because twitter is laughing at how bad the cartoon is, and netflix might review it from their service as it would be deemed lgbt propoganda to children. it would further drive it into the ground and kill it for good, so he is clearly posting here in some weird vain attempt thinking posting about it here will get toys some how

>Lou Scheimer Productions wanted to keep the identity of his parents a big secret, which would only have been revealed in the very last episode of the series. It was Lou Scheimer himself who revealed shortly after the He-Ro concept bible was published that Dare's mother was indeed She-Ra.
Adora/She-Ra going missing for 10 years would have been difficult to pull off in a convincing way. Were the members of the royal family ever going to talk about how much they miss her after knowing her for a few years as an adult?
You also have to wonder if the Horde was defeated, or only Skeletor.

Nu-ra lover can fuck off right back to /co/. It’s funny how the people there can’t stand most of the trash on that board who worship nu-ra and that hazbin hotel crap. Wednesday is the only day to go to read pirated comics.

I’m actually getting excited to see what’s up with this movie. I’ve been at this since day 1 in ‘82 and been back every time MOTU has reared its head in toy form. The 87 movie was a disappointment as kid but I’ve come to appreciate as an adult. I was there all through Classics with the Guru year after year coming with a fantastic script and it’s happening for sure this time. The Orgers back then only wanted the movie happen so we would get Classics in stores and didn’t care if it was good or shit. I’m hoping to for a retail blitz of stuff but stuff so far looks good, but we’ll see how that trailer looks.

Innocent question: Are the sets that hard to get? I've seen them pop up on and off for years for cheap at the used books stores.
>>

Up until this point they've been affordable and plentiful, averaging at around 30 bucks a set. Who knows if the movie and the 200X line will change that though.

Cautiously optimistic. Hopeful, but not too hopeful. I can't say I'm excited. If I keep my expectations tempered, then it won't be as devastating when it turns out to be a piece of shit.

My only gripes are the shade of grey used on the body and the proportions of the lower arms and legs. Skeletron did a better job of mimicking the extreme bottom heavy proportions of the G1 designs. A metallic silver body matching the plastic used on the chest harness and smokestacks would have looked alot better. The forearms and lower legs shoulf have been oversized too.
>>

>>
>>11588499
>Are the sets that hard to get?
They are in Australia, in fact I'm not sure it was ever released here. Seriously, we get butt-fucked on so many cartoon releases. Either shit doesn't get released at all or it's done in volumes so you have to get "season 1: Vol 1 Eps 1-3, Vol 2 Eps 4-6" and so on, until whomever is in charge gets bored and they just stop making them, so you end up missing half a season or the entirety of season 3 or whatever.
That shit can suck all of my balls.
>>

He would fit really well with Origins New Adventures Heman.

Speaking of weird sequels I would kill for a Beast Wars crossover. The empty ancient earth jungle setting and Heman dudes with animal pelts would work well together.
>>
>>11588685
I'm surprised they didnt do a more generic character on the Heman side because Transformers is known for its massive amount of seeker repaints and they could have made so many. But the Ghost of Starscream/Skeletor only really works for these characters. I'm glad they didnt though he makes up for Man at arms.

Absolutely. It's arguably the best He-Man series, though some still put 200X ahead of it.
The animation is a lot more detailed than it seems at first, the voice acting is excellent across the board, and story actually does something with Skeletor not just being Keldor, but Adam's uncle.

Skeletor is doing his own thing. He commands the Evil Warriors and is the Lord of Destruction.
Hordak sounds like the Horde is named after him, so he must be badass. But really he's middle management. It's weird apparently his Dad sends space fags to see why Hordak isn't winning on Etheria.
>>
>>11589715
>would He-Man be titled Emperor by marrying her

Not anymore since they switched go democracy and Andrea is president of everything :^)
>>
>>11590104
Not his dad but his older brother Horde Prime
>>
>>11590027
it's the best heman cartoon in animation quality and on par with 200X storywise. Both of these are superior to revelation and revolution which both simultaneously take advantage of everything Filmation and 200X establish while shitting on it at the same time.
>>
>>11590130
>his big brother has to check up on him
Hordak's stock is really falling when you take an objective look at his situation.

>>11590103
Ok your post has convinced me to give this series a second chance.
>story actually does something with Skeletor not just being Keldor, but Adam's uncle.
However, I hate this lore. This is based purely off the "vintage" lore because it sounds like CGee Man is doing it's own thing.
It was such a dumb idea before like now you have to explain why Keldor is blue and Randor isn't. The He-Man and Skeletor dynamic doesn't need this plot baggage. It's like they wanted to rip of Vader and Luke but the Father spot was already taken by Randor. So now Keldor is Adam's half-blue uncle all so the writers can go
>this time its personal
>>
>>11590124
Is this really what happens?
>>
>>11590217
>However, I hate this lore.
So do I, CGI-Man is the only time that I've seen it done in a way that makes sense. A big part of the series is that Keldor and Adam are both successors of King Grayskull and both have the ability to wield that power, but the difference in how they view it, and use it. They even manage to use Randor to further explore the idea. Adam wants to use and share the power to help people, Keldor wants the power to rule over others, and Randor believes that the power should be left alone because it's too dangerous.

>now you have to explain why Keldor is blue and Randor isn't.
The show deals with this in that Keldor isn't blue until he becomes Skeletor. It also shows that people have different skin hues with some characters having blue or purple skin, and that it can change over time.

Like I said, normally I hate the Keldor thing, in fact I even hate the Prince Adam thing and prefer the original mini-comics origins for the characters, but this series does it so damn well that I enjoyed all of it. I also like that the writers managed to figure out a way for He-Man to have both the tribal warrior AND Prince Adam back stories.
>>
>>11590225
Only the first half.
He-Man does abolish the monarchy and call for democratic elections
The second part is slightly hyperbolic. Andra says she's going to run in the election and Adam says he's voting for her...but the show is cancelled so it's never officially going to happen.

>>11590104
>>11590217
And this Hordak shit is one of the reasons exactly why I'll die on the "Filmation is fucking trash" hill.
>>
>>11590248
Ok don't say any more and spoil the surprise.
>>
>>11590251
>the show is cancelled so it's never officially going to happen
You have a credible source for that? I am not seeing that being said anywhere.
>>
>>11590251
I can't believe anon was trying to convince us that this Andra character isn't straight woke trash. How you can defend any of that plot as not being straight up deconstruction.

It also totaly ignores the true canon from the Golden Books (TCGB from now on) that once a year there is an eclipse, during which the divine right to rule Eternia comes down from the heavens infusing whoever controls Castle Eternos with that power.
>>
>>11590104
>Hordak sounds like the Horde is named after him, so he must be badass. But really he's middle management.
My mental image of Hordak is that he is basically the physical manifestation of primordial cosmic evil. That even the form we see him take might not even be him but just some poor bastard that had been taken over and had his form twisted into the image of Hordak
>>
>>11590256
>spoil the surprise.
Don't worry basically all of that is from the first couple episodes.
>>
>>11590268
Now that's based. I like to think of Skeletor as a Gar corrupted in that way. Basically a spirit cooker prince who becomes the embodiment of decay.

Also his dick rots away because he's death and procreation is impossible for him anyway.
>>
>>11590277
>Also his dick rots away
I don't think I'd include that. Mainly because I have a hard time respecting a literal dickless bad guy, but also the idea of him using sex as a corrupting influence is fun to have in the back pocket.
>>
>>11590282
Well to each their own right. I just can't imagine writing something where he would get sexy with anything. It also opens up the door ot him having kids which seems so strange to me.
>Skeleteen is hilarious name tho
But I can see the dynamic of him being tormented by wanting Evil Lyn but can't have her.
>>
>>11590104
>>11590268
I never really got why people like to hype up Hordack as the biggest baddest badass of the entire setting. Skeletor defeats him each time they fight, and he never could take over the rainbow gumdrop forest planet after 20 years of trying. At least Skeletor is struggling to take over the world that has about 3 dozen different types of musclebound mutant species and cyborgs on it.

Hordak has never shown to be more impressive than anyone else to be worth the hype. He's mostly a snorting pig guy that keeps a harem of marginally useful minions around. He mostly has Skeletor beat in having his hot chick army and robot soldiers. While Skeletor comes off as more of a gang leader of about 10 or so misfits.
>>
has anyone here tried making an Andra origins custom? I'd like her someday, even if she is a little ... cringe.
>>
>>11590248
CGI Heman seems cool but I find it hard to want to watch because cgi and the super exaggerated proportions. I don't watch a lot of shit though so I'm always picky.

Is anyone else hyped for Masters of the Universe, directed by Travis Knight, the acclaimed director of Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee? This movie is going to be kino—a decade-defining moment that will mark the birth of a new cinematic universe and franchise. It will be a billion-dollar success, beloved by both audiences and critics. This film will do for superhero and fantasy genres what The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) and Superman (2025) wished they could’ve done. The level of success it will achieve is immeasurable, and /tv/ literally has no idea what gem they're sleeping on.
Masters of the Universe will be the film event of a lifetime. Imagine The Lord of the Rings meets Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, meets Guardians of the Galaxy, meets Pirates of the Caribbean—this will be the cornerstone of what’s supposed to be the next big blockbuster franchise. It will change the movie industry forever. All coming on June 5, 2026—only in theaters.

>because cgi and the super exaggerated proportions.
I can't help you with the CGI aspect, most cartoons are CGI now so you're probably gonna have to deal with that eventually. Might as well start here.
As for the proportions, you acclimatise to that pretty quick. Especially given that the only ones that have the insanely huge arms are supposed to be magically super-powered Hulk types.

>But I can see the dynamic of him being tormented by wanting Evil Lyn but can't have her.
An excerpt from my copy of I, Skeletor. I am now imagining a whole back story of Keldor and Evelyn sneaking around in abandoned corners of the palace, sharing loaded looks at each other while she performs at ceremonies, Keldor vowing to gain power that is rightfully his and her whispering in his ear goading him.

One day without bullshit, conversations were nice, peaceful and on topic again and you're already trying to get him to respond to you like a desperate clingy ex girlfriend.

Can we just talk about He-Man without trying to restart that idiocy?

First of all this is 4chan. People are going to post things that you don't like. I have to scroll past the endless "what if" crossover character combinations. I'm not the only one here who thinks that stuff is over shadowing proper Motu. But I scrol past and don't engage.

Secondly I didn't call xir the T word or say that they didn't win (this is what seemed to be the real trigger). Or post any spicy role play ideas. It wasn't goading as much as it was venting my distress over the story telling and displeasure at being lectured over it. Everything I learn about this Andra makes the character seem like another ham fisted Mary Sue. And it's on topic as much as people talking about Keldor's love life or Angela's age when she had Glimmer.

Post some toys if you don't like the discussion.
>>

has to be ai, they would never cast a red head and man at arms armour looks too good in motion, Hollywood can't build stuff like that anymore.
>>
>>11590607

Evil Lyn seemed to always want out that relationship and get her own power or control. That was mostly her part in 200X releasing the next big bad to reward her and rid herself of Skeletor. Pretty much that way in Revelation as well. I remember during Classics Toy Guru would write a lot of the bios where Evil Lyn released this or that and he’d get beat up about it at cons or became a running joke on the Org. He wasn’t wrong though, it was all in 200X. Even the CGI Netflix kind of dealt with that at the end as well.
>>
>>11590677
Its a shame how those skills get lost. The Sorceress is such a babe and her costume looks like you had make that at home. I mean that in a good way not disparaging. Does anyone else remember those costume patterns you could order from a catalog and sew it yourself? Well your mom would sew it.
>>
>>11590682
Don't forget though, in the movie the arc of Lyn's character is that she genuinely loves Skeletor, but abandons him when she realised that she means nothing to him. That's the dynamic I basically follow, that Lyn and Keldor did genuinely care about each other, but Skeletor's lust for power eventually means that he is only out for himself, and Lyn does the same when.

>Toy Guru would write
Scott's words count for jack shit to me.
>>
>>11590605
Those books covers are peak Motu. I wish Mattel would sell posters of the old artwork.
The one where He-Man is wrestling the giant python is my favorite.
>>11590607
Is this from CGI? It doesn't look like a Classic bio and doesn't mention an Ultimate Battleground.
>>
>>11590685
>Its a shame how those skills get lost.
There are still plenty of skilled costumers out there. Hollywood just doesn't use them.
>>
>>11590603
The one thing this has going for it is it’s not the 4th reboot of it like DC films. Also it’s not requiring you to watch 20 other movies and 15 shit tv shows like Marvel. Revelation pissed off a lot of people but Revolution won some back. This feels like it will attract people who didn’t watch those but may remember the Filmation cartoons or those nostalgia baiting commercials like the dirty dancing or the Grayskull real estate one. It did seem like the filming leaks got a lot of good buzz the way Adam was dressed. Wait I remember him, that’s Prince Adam. Is Teela or the Sorceress in this ? Is his green tiger in this ?
>>
>>11590688
That’s one industry you don’t see pull them in. Greedy ass Hasbro even pulled in one of the best fan photogs to do all their official photos. It’s way too gate kept. At a book signing with Val Staples from the Org one of the guys from the board showed up in a Tri Klops costume that was really incredible. Cosplay now is a big industry as Singer and other sewing machine companies usually have huge booths at comic and anime cons. They even host demonstrations and classes to show people how easy it is to do. One of my favs was the porn chick who’d show up as She-Ra at the Power Cons. She was awesome.

Lol Kagney Lynn Karter as the spirit of She Ra.

You have to deal with Hollywood costume Unions and such. And they won’t allow outsiders.
>>
>>11590704
The unions have such clout that they can stop a dead porn star's ghost from manifesting at NYCC as She-Ra?
Are they warlocks or something?
>>
Skeletor trying to marry Teela in pre-Evil-Lyn stories is always weird.
>>
>>11590728
That artwork is so bad it feels like a white genocide.
>>
>>11590728
Story wise I like the idea of Skeletor cloning Teela as a long term plan to get into Grayskull. That's the kind of super villainy that makes for good pulp fiction.
The dropped storyline that Beast Man wants Teela.because his kind lusts for human women seems way more thematically appropriate.
>>
>>11590542
Not a fan of the head on the chest look

It's from book I, Skeletor. CGI-Man had 3 normal written books and they had little bios for main cast. Since this book is written in first person by Skeletor, there are a litlle notes from him.

Theres a good balance to strike between your series becoming crossover and license slop and just having crossovers. Magic the Gathering and Lego are totally fucked up beyond all repair. I think Heman has a good balance because we have so much more going on. Origins, Sketchbook Concept art, Origins Cartoon Collection moving on to 200x Cartoon Collection. Masterverse with sub things like Vintage Master, new Eternia, 80s movie and other stuff. Whatever they're going to do for the movie. Thankfully some crossovers are really limited like the Stranger Things one and Transformers.
>>

Oh god I thought you were only talking about Beast Man not everyone. I see if now. Well Stratos is part monkey so I guess its find for him too lol. I wonder if swapping them with CC arms would look better? I might just get the big guys like Veast and Clawful and women.
>>
>>11590960
Four Horsemen's sculpts at the time were just too kino. I mean they're still good now but I collect Heman and their stuff is too realistic and hits a different aesthetic.

Wasn't Evil-Lynn always in it for the power? Like she was only near Skeletor so she could eventually learn his secrets, steal whatever magic she could from him and then either kill him or take over and replace him?
>>
>>11590960
Looks like they are just trying to make them look exactly like the cartoons instead of the gritty detailed look the toys typically have.
>>
>>11590981
>steal whatever magic she could from him and then either kill him or take over and replace him?

I want to see a what if where Evil Lyn actually does this. Imagine if she made her own Havoc staff out of Skeletor's skull and it still talked back to her. You could even turn her skin green as a reference to her toy/Skeletor's green face.

The Mondo ones are based on the toys, Mattel is doing cartoon. Mondo looks great but is pricey so I might get Skeletor, but fuck the rest. Hey, you know that cliche when character in helmet, like biker does something cool and people say "wow, He sure is good" and then biker takes off helmet and it's a woman?
And you know how Horde has more female members than other groups?

>>
>>11591044
Dragstor isn't female, he has a big black ripcord.

I'm glad they went with chest plates for this one. My Origins Mosquitor has been slowly off-gasing the liquid inside. I know, because I was worried about it leaking and damaging my other figures while in a tub, so I put it in its own separate tub with some tissue paper to cushion and there is a faint red stain around where the button sits.

>>
>>11590981
I like to think it's a situation where they both want power for themselves, but do have a soft spot for one another. Like if He-Man wasn't around and they did take over, Skeletor and Evil-Lyn could be happy together, ruling Eternia. But He-Man thwarts Skeletor's plans and Skeletor becomes obsessed with beating He-Man, while Evil-Lyn strikes out on her own.

Maybe it's just the romantic in me, but I enjoy the tragedy of a villain so obsessed with power that they destroy the things that could bring them happiness without even realising it.
>>
>>11590728
Why is it so many 80's cartoons made use of this plot? Remember when Darkseid's whole deal was wanting to bump uglies with Wonder Woman?
>>
>>11591287

I would love a MotU story that's just pure He-Man vs Hordak
No mentions or references of either Skeletor or anything PoP, just an expanded version of what we'd see in some of the minicomics (the ones like Enter Buzzsaw Hordak or Grizzlor: The Legend Comes Alive, where there was no third faction muddying the story)
That would be absolute godtier

Really don't know what to do with this line. They look great and seem like good toys, but i don't think they seem worth the asking price. Thinking of other items I can get at the same price it kind of feels like it isn't worth it. After importing + customs for just Clawful I'm looking at probably 2.5 high end figures.
>>
>>11591710
If you're importing, yeah, that's an issue. But the artistry of the sculpts and paint definitely add up to the pricepoint being asked for. Plus all the accessories.
