So it’s been an exciting…and potentially expensive March, but April may end up worse. Did you build yourself a party to explore the deepest regions of Mythos? Perhaps you bolstered your armies of Orcs and Skeletons, or picked up an evil Paladin or two. Did you just buy as many random figures as you could budget to get cheap parts or were you meticulous in your choices, only grabbing the exact type of figures that needed to be in your collection. Let us know what you got and what your plans are for the upcoming sale!

And remember, Don't Feed the Troll.

>and various Dogmen Cryptid figures
BBTS also has all 3 Loosecollector dogmen for $10 less than buying them separately..I didn't see that when they went up initially. I still can't decide what color to add to the werewolf pack.
I've got the black and brown Great Wolves (almost tempted to get the last two, but they are YUGE), all 3 Maestrro Union werewolves , Creatureplica Louisiana Rougarou (I should probably grab the Horrorhound eventually) and NECA Kesslerwolf. I still need to get the Howling one. Oh, and the Mythic one is preordered.
So should I get the black and brown Dogmen to go with the 2 Great Wolves I own, or get the gray one for color variation? Or will that lead to me deciding to also get the gray Great Wolf, which will make me want to be a completist and get the white one too?
I swear I'm not a furry. I used to play the White Wolf World of Darkness RPGs, so I like the idea of werewolves in various forms like in that game.

I'd like to see the werewolf team next to one another if you're up for it.

I went for the Black one myself because it reminded me of my old dog from when I was younger, a crazy black lab would sleep on rooftops, didn't like water and was afraid of rabbits.

As for other wolves, I got one of those Great Wolves as well and it is *stupid* huge, and I also have Veteran Williams from Maertro Union, who goes surprising well with those McFarlance The Batman motorcycles. I also have both the Kessler wolf AND the Creatureplica Louisiana Rougarou, with the Mythic Ogre Scale one and the regular sized Gnoll on Preodered, but I skipped out on the Howling one because those tiny feet looked kind of scary to pose him on. Going back a bit further, I have a pair of the old McFarlane Mangler figures, a trio of his Wetworks Werewolves, his short lived 4" line of Monster Playset Werewolf, and my leader of the pack a Stan Winston's Bloodwolves Vereticus. He's old, and his articulation is woefully out of date, but he's still massive, and solid and makes for a fantastic Knight AND is a badass Werewolf. I thought I had pictures of him, but I can't find any that actually show off his wolf face.

I also have the Savage Crucible Wolfman Rogue figure and a trio of the AWOK Hyenas, though they might not exactly qualify as proper Werewolves.

>>11754804
Nta, but I always mean to take more pics of my stuff but always get distracted just messing with figures instead. I honestly don't even know where half my wolves ended up, and my Legions are dominating my desk so it's hard to even look for other figures.

I too hope the other anon can share some pics of his wolf pack, it might help encourage me to go find my own. Until then, have my oldest pic of my Rougarou.

Cool. I like knights, and army building these should be easy. It's almost the same as the Silver Knight 2 with a bit more paint, some soft goods and the extra hemet. They had that one for a reasonable price, so...
>$60
No. If he was cheaper, or they made him a $70 deluxe like the Blue Shield knight builder, I'd accept either.
I mean, they had the Silver Knight 2 for $35. A bit of extra paint and some soft goods? $40-$45 would have got me to bend the knee.
I really like the deco though.

He'll be included in the big April In Stock Sale. We don't know the exact date, but they usually give a week or two notice before a big sale like that. When there's new info I'll make sure to share it here.

>>11755049
>>11755050
Neat, I love the colors and a bunch of Dragon Knights would be cool to flank my Starvos

>$60

.....and I'm out. I just dropped $450 on your Kickstarter, will probably drop around $200 on your up coming in stock sale, now you wanna charge $60 for a $45 figure...and an army builder at that? Either drop the price or pack in more bits, but that's a high ask for a figure with so little gear. This thing should've been a Knight Builder style pack loaded with newer gear, weapons and parts.

At least the other $60 BBTS figures usually come with extra limbs or something. As cool as that BBTS Knight is, I don't think his sparse accessories justify the price tag. Vernaliss Ardenscale comes with just as much stuff, including soft goods, but he's only $50.

Speaking of which, finally got him in hand and got to mess with him some. I like how the baggy hood implies a longer serpentine neck of some sort. With him, my Slither of Snakes grows, and the next one I'll be adding should be the Cosmic Head Pack Snake, who already has all the parts needed, just waiting for the head, waist and arms.

So I'm customizing a knight but I can't decide between giving him: A) a sword hilt that can generate a flame blade (pic-related) or B) a sword made entirely out of flames. What would be cooler?
>>
>>11755428
>At least the other $60 BBTS figures usually come with extra limbs or something
Agreed. He'd be great for the Nutcracker head but $60 is silly
>>
>>11755486
Sword hilt that makes flames, so you still have something to draw from a sheath dramatically.

>>11755512
I was originally going to get an extra of the RPG Red Paladins for that head, but decided against it because 1) I can just use one I already got for the holidays with that head and 2) They'll probably make a full Nut Cracker figure at some point with a non-damaged head so I'd rather just wait and see.

Limited but with potential. They do make a female scalie body, but only two figures have made use of it so far, and only pic related has actual legs. While this figure is more of a Mer-woman, they also use this body on their Snake Goddess figure Bassylia.

https://sourcehorsemen.com/mythic-legions/entry/bassylia

There's also a likely chance the body will see reuse in the future as I'm sure they'll use this build in their Cosmic line at some point.

So I just got my Lazy Monster Studios Darkmoon Assassin from 5ktoys the other day, and before I even had her out of the box I was popping her pieces off so I could do this swap with the Town Guard figure. It also turned out I discovered the Assassin's hair is also a separate piece that could be swapped with the extras from the Town Guard set. But after swapping their gear, I am *very* happy with the results. The pale elf looks so much better in the green rogue gear and the Night Elf chick works the whole Blue on Blue look way better then the pale elf. The splash of red hair also works better then her stock green, kind of reminds me of Mystique with the blue skin, red hair combo.

The pale elf will be the rogue for an adventuring party I'm building, I also have that Eternal Expedition Series Dwarf on pre-order to act as the party's warrior/fighter, and I already have Romankey Algar to fill the "beastman" role, so all I need now is a decent mage. Sadly they don't really make many mages as figures since fighters always make for cooler toys.

If anyone has any suggestions for original character, chinese company made, RPG party style mages in 1:12 scale though, I'm all ears.

>>11756039
Yea, I don't see the 4H doing a sexy half reptile girl at any point. Most of their animal people are just people...with animal heads. They don't really do animal/human hybrid types, only one I can even think of that's close to that is the scorpion chick or the mermaid posted earlier. Maybe when Savage Crucible starts doing female figures, they might come out with some human/reptile hybrid females to fill that void.

Hot damn, he looks amazing. Savage Crucible is pulling some pretty great stuff. I still feel Legions figures are better overall, but I'm glad that both these lines are going strong and seeing success without actually stepping on each other too much. Looking forward to both him and the eventually Death Dealer.

In other news, got shipping notice for my Black Stone Conan and a second payment notice for the Keep Going skeletons. Guess I'll be posting pics of them fighting when I get all in hand.

Also, just for random shits, pic of my random bug bros. Was planning on using Not-Buzz-Off along side of em, but he *really* does not work as a bug. Maybe if they gave him the unmasked Sphexxian head or something, but with those very human arms he just looks silly. Probably should've used scaled limbs, as the original MOTU figure had those little spikes on his limbs the scaled Legions limbs would've worked way better. As of now I'm left with a *very* silly and fairly boring looking barbarian that I don't know what to do with.

There usually seems to be ways (at least for Americans) to get Savage Crucible figures eventually, I'm sure once he's out more stock will start popping up. Nothing ever makes it way here though, so I will enjoy it vicariously through you guys.
>>
>>11758654
Aliexpress is always an option. They're always well stocked on SC, Mythic Legions, etc. Prices aren't always good, but availability + coupons make them a decent option.
>>
>>11758586
Don't stress. I'm sure more will become available at BBTS when they get it in stock. And even then, they have been restocking their figures after they sell out. That yellow Fill Necked Lizard exclusive sold out and then went back up for preorder. And they got another shipment of the Barbarian wave not too long ago after the whole eave had sold out. And I'm pretty sure they will have an in stock sale on their own website eventually.
The only one I completely missed the boat on was the Shadow Slate Lemurian. I'm not even sure if other sites got it.

The Shadow Slate Lemurian was a surprise drop and I don't even think it was announced as being on their own site. It was just there one day and gone the next. I managed to snipe one for myself the same time I got the red armor reptile dude.

I wish they would do more of em though, and do something similar with the barbarian body. I got all this extra gear and parts, but no one to use em on. I'm not gonna go buy another whole new figure to put my extra gear on because then I'll just have THAT dude's gear lying around. I hate that more then one line that built itself up with army builder so quickly abandoned that aspect.

Well to the anons who warned me about the Dead Frame's joints, one of them just lost an arm. Wouldn't have happened if I had been more careful but desu it's not that fun to be so precious with figures. They weren't that great for the human skellys I really desire anyway.
>>
>>11758734
Yeah thanks, the price on Ali for figures has increased massively recently for me, Savage Crucible has become crazy expensive from there. Last resort though and as you said, sales plus coupons can make it alright sometimes.

It's still not quite there, but this looks a whole lot better than what they've shown off before.

File: Conan of Blackstone.jpg (497 KB, 1600x1200)

I finally got my Heroic Signatures Conan in hand, and he's pretty great. He's more solid then expected with some fantastic articulation, though he's certainly not perfect. He has single jointed elbows, which on their own aren't bad as he gets a VERY deep bend with em. But to accomplish that range, the forearms were sculpted in a way that looks super awkward from certain angles, they're very flat and wide with a concave dip in his musculature. It's awful when viewed from the side, but not as noticeable when looking at it head on.

But his sculpt is sharp, his paint is clean, the joints all feel very strong, with soft detents to hold everything in place, the accessories are great (I got the deluxe set) and he can hold them all very well. The sword sheath clips on his belt in a poor position, but it's still useable, but something I may have to fix at some point.

Of all the Conans I have, he's not the best one out (that's the Frazetta Girl's one imo) but he's an excellent addition to the collection, and it's nice to have a different take on the him. I also appreciate all the extra weapons he came with, it's actually super hard to find a decent rapier and the one in this set is pretty fantastic.

>>11760012
Mine are still in the mail but I'll test em when I get them. I'll also see if other brand's skeletons can possibly donate some grippy mitts to these guys.

That said, the alt heads not matching the base skeleton is crazy, that's just tossing money in the trash right there.

>>11760015
>>11760016
Same, I don't need a half dozen slightly different skulls, I just want one head with a hinged jaw. But hands? Yea, I need gripping, closed, and expressive hands at a minimum.

>>11760972
I limited myself to two when I discovered they didn't have extra hands. But the low price IS hard to beat, even if they do turn out to be trash. Never hurts to have some extra bone parts to drop in the background of a display or something.

I hope your wallets have recovered from your RPG Kickstarter purchases, because it's about to take another beating at the hands of the 4H.

They officially announced the date for this year's big In Stock Sale, featuring the many, MANY exclusive releases first dropped at last year's Legionscon as well as many figures from the highly popular Necronominus wave.

Most of the Exclusive releases will have temporary limits for the first 24 hours, hopefully helping more people get their hands on some of these in demand figures. But the Necro Wave figures won't have that safety net and many of these figures will have incredibly low stock right from the start, so unfortunately there will be blood with these. These are the last of their stock so once they're gone they're gone for good, and some figures are already sold out before the sale even starts.

So budget your bank accounts, get your info in order and plan your attacks now, because these In Stock sales can be fierce, fast and brutal.

......it's also not letting me post the pic, but you can see exactly what's going to be included in this sale on their instagram.

Concept wise, I get why they did what they did with the arms, I've always been an advocate for single jointed elbows with proper sculpted clearance. It just looks better and functions just as well as many worse looking double joints. But the arms here are just sculpted weird, and they really didn't have to be. Still, the range works well and for the most part the problems don't really jump out at you.

>>11761365
I appreciate them giving us some time to get a few more paychecks in our accounts before starting their next assault, but I still can't help feel like more time between their big KS and this sale would've been nice. Maybe if they just dropped Thoth by himself first then did the big in stock sale next month it wouldn't hit so hard.

>>11761463
I'm honestly glad the AS6 stuff isn't included, because I probably would've grabbed some of those releases as I got all I want from the Necro wave already.

As for the other stuff, I'm planning for one Warrior and at least two of the Gladiators. I'm on the fence about the Nymph as I already have one, but I used her to finish off my custom Harpy and I don't know if I want a second. I'm still disappointed she only came with a single torso because they couldn't figure out a good second option for her, as it really limits her build variety when all you can change is the head.

As for the Gladiators, I definitely want the Vampire, as they're a surprisingly rare race in this line and he'll be a good goon for my Vorgus. I also want the pale human as he just exudes some main character energy, those colors just look great on that build. I am on the fence about the Green demon though, to date I don't have any version of that head and I love his worn mercenary look. But I can't really figure out a good spot for him in my collection and I really should be more picky in what I buy when it comes to this line.

Anyway, random skeleton mage

>That the Figuarts version?
It is indeed, I got her on sale last week, I think she's very nicely done overall, they got her skin tone right for once. The armour has very nice detailing on the dirt and damage marks from blades, it looks excellent. Her articulation is decent, her legs are very good with balls at the thigh cuts and excellent range. Arms also have a ball at the base of the gloves and the hands which is nice. The butterflies are quite limited compared to Guts, but mine might also still be a bit embedded. Head/neck are good, the pauldrons are ball and hinged on the torso rather than the arm, which means they always look connected and get out of the way, but don't follow the arm as well, so it really depends on what you prefer, it's a compromise either way. The main drawback is the torso having nothing, it's just at the waist, which the old Figma actually did better cos it had panels that allowed some crunch.

Outside of that, a lack of faces (lots of hands though), is really the only issue for me, but she looks beautiful in person, the faces once again are so well done, just like Guts. The cape is excellent as well. I'm very happy with her, I think they asked a little much to be honest for how small she is (she's tiny) and her limited accessories, but with a discount (I got her for $60 total shipped to the UK), she is a lovely figure.

I only have the last two from the Berserk line, so I didn't experience the earlier issues (I still actually want your Guts because of how good the faces are), but I will say, I have the Gamerverse SHF Cyclops and, whilst he has nice accessories, I think both of these Berserk figures feel like superior products. Not perfect, but they are those kind of toys I find myself fiddling with and handling more than any of my others, they are just fun.

>>11763810
It's a surprisingly complex concept that everyone seems to address in their own way, some with more success then others.

Personally, despite being the smallest and stiffest, I like the BFS Skeleton the most as he's the only one who isn't a floppy mess or "artistically exaggerated".

>>11764547
Revols are probably the ones with the most personality, but all three of my are a shambling mess that's only held together by stubbornness and time stiffened joints. They like to fall apart as soon as you pick em and more then one joint needed a 'dab of glue' to hold it's shape.

Welp, the In Stock Sale suddenly got stupid...and not in the colloquial modern "Stupid means cool" sense all the kids are using these days, but in the "Well that's kinda dumb" sense of things being made slightly worse from bad decisions.

In keeping with the Clearencey nature of these sales, the 4H just announced a new "Blind Box" option to the event. For every $100 spent on normal, full priced figures, you have the option to spend $25 more to get a random, full priced figure. From their description, that figure can be anything from the $37 figure already on the site from Poxxus and AS 5 Waves, to the $45 remaining Armory knights to even some possible surprise left overs like previous Con Exclusive sets they still have lingering around.

Most likely it'll just be more Swiggs.

Still, $25 is a steal for some of those older figures, Duban and Xylernian Guard are still both top tier figures in the line despite using older parts, and the chance to get even an Armory figure from that price is hard to pass up. But the $100 per pop per-requisit kind of sucks and limit's one's chances to even take the chance.

Still better then last year's "buy two unknown figures, but one is always Swigg" deal. And with how expensive the newer figures currently run, breaking $100 is scarily easy.
>>
>>11765573
oh great, desperation scam sales of overstock

>>11765573
>Most likely it'll just be more Swiggs.
Considering the upcoming Agbendor Gobhollow two pack with 2 extra gobbo heads and the RPG gobbo with 2 extra heads, more Swiggs are a useful commodity. I'd rather pull 4 Swiggs than 4 Azhars.

Eh, it takes little to reach that, if you get one of each the con guys you reach over $300 without trying.

I'm more curious how they decide who gets these rare left over figures peppered in the rest. It can't be truly random can it?

>>11768404
matters worse most had no flat rate shipping offered so a lot of people had to either impulse purchase and eat the extra shipping or report the issue to watch everything sell out.
>>
>>11768410
>matters worse most had no flat rate shipping offered
Yeah, their shipping is kinda scummy. Reminds me of NECAstore’s shenanigans.
>>
>>11768397
>>11768404
....that's kind of absurd. There are Armory Knights from LAST last year's Legionscon still in stock, how did they short change the Gladiators so much more. Those were the figures I was expecting to sit around the longest.

Even Qoi, who is probably the best figure for sale right now, is sitting around still. I really hope the 4h "find" more of these figures, or at least do a second run. For them to sell out this fast shows that there must have been very limited stock to begin with, and for how long these guys were built up, having them be limited run is absurd.
>>
>>11768413
hard to say what the inventory was but the demand for these guys was several times higher than the knight because this is actually creature building. It's not just knight parts, it's demons and vampires, and skin tones galore, in fact the only one not to sell out is the red elf which is likely due to how many red skin tone figures like that they have already done to this point.
I like the knights but I get why they didn't move and I am no means surprised the 6 pack of creature races would move so easy.
>>
>>11768413
>>11768416
Could also be that they made less after the knights sat around forever.
>>
>>11768388

>It's on now, I got mine and hope you all get yours too!

Thanks! And yes I secured Nymph which was the only one I was looking forward to. Seems like she's still available but don't know for how long.
>>
>>11768418
and with all the chaos of shipping and manufacturing costs in general they likely can't take risk like they were and we are back to what their inventories look like in 2018
>>
>>11768420
The girls (usually) don't move as fast. and I think this lacking that Cosmic Legion head from the con I don't think most are as excited for her.
>>
>>11768410
>matters worse most had no flat rate shipping offered so a lot of people had to either impulse purchase and eat the extra shipping or report the issue to watch everything sell out.
oh that does suck, that really shouldn't happen. But I'm overseas, so I'm used to pretty brutal shipping prices anyway...

>>11768416
yeah the gladiators were infinitely cooler than "standard knight parts but in less useful colors". Plus the two heads made them even better
>>
Got what I went in for. May get Qoi but I doubt I will.
>>
>>11768410
>>11768411
I checked out in such a hurry that I didn't even notice the shipping costs. I still paid more in taxes, but that extra few bucks for shipping kinda sucks.

>>11768416
Assuming the old stock checking trick still works, most of new figures seemed to have been stocked at 300ish units, where the Knights were at around 500 a character. But there was also a bigger variety of knights as well, and many of em sold out that first day. I never got the impression they were unpopular, in fact they seemed to be a great introduction to the line and were many people's firsts figures. I can see why the Gladiators would be more desirable though, each one is more of a unique character where the Knights were more blank slate figures (which were great for customizers). Looking back, I'm pretty sure I ended up getting about ten of the Knights because their build was so generic that it was perfect for extra heads and part swapping. But I don't think I would've done that with the Gladiators.

>>11768418
They did make a LOT of the Knights.

>>11768420
Grats, I grabbed her too but she's actually my second one. I managed to snag the original exclusive because I wanted that Vamp Orc head. But I turned mine into a Harpy and felt I needed a second because I really liked the standard stock Nymph. I still do hate she didn't come with a second torso like the Warrior did, would've been real nice to have a bikini top torso in that vampire white.
>>
>>11768433
Qoi is a pretty fantastic figure, I would grab him if you're on the fence about him. The use of translucent pieces, the excellent detailed paint job and his surprisingly imposing size made him a surprise favorite of mine. I didn't even plan to get him originally, the offer just kinda dropped in my lap, but I'm glad I took it.

They said ithe flat rate shipping not being available was a glitch caused by the mystery boxes and they will fix it for everyone that wants it, but you need email them since not everyone chooses flat rate shipping.
>>
So 4H just updated their Insta:

For those who wanted the flat rate but didn't see it as an option, Email the 4H customerservice@sourcehorsemen.com with your order number and they will fix it. It seems their mystery box items screwed their shipping calculator up and it was an unintended bug.

As for the quick sell out of the Gladiators, they're "looking in" to a way to address that issue as they didn't expect them to sell that fast.

I guess I take back most of my complaints about this sale. Again, if you wanted that flat rate shipping, email them ASAP with your order number and they'll fix and refund the difference. And if you wanted Gladiators but missed out, I guess stay tuned for some sort of update.

ARMORY GLADIATORS WILL BE BACK AT STOREHORSEMEN.COM ON 5/1 WITH AN OPEN PREORDER AND NO LIMITS.

One of the challenges with doing “in stock” items, like we did for the Armory Gladiators that were part of our recent In Stock Sale, is that we need to guess how many we will need to meet demand. This is not easy to do, and we unfortunately estimated too low for the Gladiators. These figures were more popular than anticipated at LegionsCon and the “pre-builds” sold out almost immediately in the recent sale, even with the limit of “1 of each style/per person” in effect.

We may not always be able to perfectly estimate demand for in stock figures, but when possible we can try to meet that demand when we guess too low. That is why we will do a second run on the 6 “pre-built” Armory Gladiators that recently sold out. The preorder will begin next week, on Friday, May 1 at 11am EST, and will run until Sunday, May 17th at 11pm EST. Since these figures will be made based on preorder demand, there are NO LIMITS on how many you will be able to order during this period and they will NOT sell out during this window of time. They will be $45 each, just like during the in stock sale, and we will keep our $9.99 US flat rate shipping in effect for these preorder items. You can fill your Coliseum with as many gladiators as you want and ship them all for that one flat price. We expect this second run of gladiators to be in hand very late this year or in early 2027.

Thank you for all the support of Four Horsemen Studios and our Legions lines. We hope that this additional preorder run will allow everyone who missed out on the Gladiators in our sale, as well as everyone who wants extras of these arena fighters, to get what they need for their collections!

For those who were lucky enough to grab some gladiators in the current in stock sale, those orders are already in our queue and will start shipping on Monday!

Just popped mine open and I was honestly surprised by all the extra stuff he's packed with. I just assumed he had the one sword, big shield an extra head and then some hands. Still working out the stiffness of the figure itself, but so far he's very impressive.

I'm really annoyed at 4H offerings lately. Tons of con exclusives, and the pricing for their regular figures don't make sense anymore. Named characters used to be $35 and builders used to be $20. Some angelic characters with wings are $45. Now all the con exclusives are $50 for no reason, Valgrad is basically all reuse. A deluxe figure is $65. Some part swap reuse gladiators with minimal accessories and no lore are $45. I understand tariffs, inflation, soft goods, whatever, but feels like this line is not worth it anymore. For example you can still get the elven guard with 2 sets of limbs for $37.

While I agree with the sentiment, I do feel you are downplaying the various global economic disasters we've experienced over the past two years. Their 2024 exclusives, including Lijae (who was originally $50 when he was first announced) were all budgeted and produced in 2023. Since then, prices of many things have skyrocketed and those price increases are the result.

New figures will continue to see rising prices and/or less accessories. Case in point, the BBTS Exclusive Knight, a figure with the same amount of gear as the Silver Knight Legion Builder 2, with more paint and soft goods but going for double the price. I was personally hoping the RPG line would be a step back from increased prices, at the cost of accessories. But that feature seemed to be dropped past the initial offerings as every subsequent added had that higher price point, though with increased accessories.

Is the value for the figures still there? I'd say depends on the figure. Qoi is absolutely worth $50, as was the Warrior and Nymph sets worth their prices. Valgard feels less so without all his exclusive parts, they should've at least kept the bucket helm and spare pauldrons. The Gladiators are also a good value as for as simple as they seem, they actually include a LOT of gear (each one includes essentially a half a belt pack) and use a lot of new parts and rare heads.

Sadly, I doubt prices will ever fully go down again, but hopefully the RPG line is successful and the 4H continue that $30 price point with more generic figures into the future.

I mean Hasbro also increased their MSRP price, but only by ~11.5%. Going from $37 to $50 for a named character (including Gideon and Aldaric) is +35% increase, and even the horses are now $80 (thats a +45% increase). Prices are one thing, it's also the con exclusives, DLC parts, and removal of the forum so the fanbase become more insular.

Smaller indie companies like Fresh Monkey Fiction and Valaverse didn't have such a steep increase. 4H figured out they can charge more for con exclusive containing mostly reused molds. They are slowly reverting back to Scarabus/Birds model where they're practically just a con exclusive retailer. Remember when they said that they want to have legion builders always in stock? That is long gone. They would rather upcharge people $50 for generic knights by adding $4 worth of wired soft goods to hide reused molds underneath.

IMO the RPG line is a disaster. The $35 basic characters are just all mold reuse with barely any accessories (and character design/personality) and you need the DLC add ons and pay $70 to get what was previously $35 worth of plastic. I paid 20 bucks for just the Druid character pack to get 1/4th of a character.

Prease understand, they're a small independent company who has been doing this for 25 years. Their fanbase has been conditioned to taking it up ass, so nothing is going to change.
Using ancient engineering because it needs to be compatible with reusing 12 year old parts to maximize profits is part of their grift.

A lot of fanboys have already quit because they're tired of the 2002-tier articulation, constant reuse, and psychotic customer service, but 4H still has enough fanboys to milk.

>>11770538
No they aren't.
Feet have rivets parallel to the sole instead of rising at the arch like the original knight feet had.
Pauldrons are the ones from Sir Elijah, not the ones from the Gold Knight from the first Kickstarter.
Pauldrons, hands and upper arms lack the engraving that those parts from the first Kickstarter have.
Elbow pads are for the newer arms that are designed to give better elbow range due to having a thinner inner elbow "strap."
All of these parts are from the Necro wave knight mold, most of which made their debut on the Valiant Knight which was a sneak preview of the new knight build.
You'd know this if you owned a recent knight figure.
>>11770548
Did the Valiant come with those pauldrons too? I don't own him, and the pics from the photo gallery only show him with the Sir Enoch pauldrons.
>>
>>11770552
Nah, those pauldrons came from the Necro wave with Elijah as you mentioned, as does his faulds/belt armor. It's more a case of me not being more specific as when I say "build" i mean more the physical body of the figure and not especially the extraneous details like pauldrons and belts.

The only part that the BBTS knight has from the 1.0 figures is the helmet topper. Everything else is from Valiant Knight and beyond.

But shitposters don't care about small things like facts or details, they just drop bait hoping people would respond so they can go back to their old shit posting ways with their lies and exaggerations.

Like claiming Hasbro figures only rose "11%" despite standard Classified and Marvel Legends figures going from $20 to 27% in the past few years, an increase in almost 30%. It'd be easy to pick apart all their bullshit, but that's kind of what they want as they'll just ignore any facts you preset and respond with completely unrelated complaints, half truths, incorrect "facts" and straight up lies.
>>
>>11770564
>It's more a case of me not being more specific as when I say "build" i mean more the physical body of the figure and not especially the extraneous details like pauldrons and belts.
Fair. I was being very specific so that it cant be twisted by schizo logic. It probably still will be.
>The only part that the BBTS knight has from the 1.0 figures is the helmet topper.
Technically the dragon topper didn't even appear until Volligar and Knight Builder 1 two waves later which didn't go up for preorder until June 2016 and wasn't available until 2017. I'm sure it was tooled at the he same time as the Kickstarter parts, but it wasn't available to order in 2015.
Like I said, I'm being really specific.
>>
So are there are any Gen's on /toys/ where most of the posts are about how satisfied 4channers are with that company's/franchise collectible figures?
>>
>>11770679
Why would there ever be such a thing? You can tell the biggest and beat fans of something by how much they hate it.
>>
So if you missed out on those Gladiators and are looking forward to getting that second chance at them next month, well good news because the 4H are adding two more options to the group.

Based on parts that were seen to be very popular during the actual Armory Experience during Legionscon itself, the 4H have built two new gladiators with unique heads that will go up for sale on the 1st. They have all the same accessories as the other Gladiators, including extra heads that also moved fast during the live event. So even if you already got the ones you wanted from the In Stock Sale, the upcoming Pre-order will still have something new to offer.

Honestly, the White and Black demon was exactly the build I wanted to make, but as I couldn't attend in person this year I thought I was SoL. Guess I'm getting two Vampire grunts for my collection now as I already bought the previous one from the ISS. The new Fury Orc is also tempting because it's a great build, and the scarred face looks neat, but I don't really want more Fury characters in my collection, a team of four is enough for me.

>>11770601
Technically you are correct. I guess I vaguely remember the Dragon Topper being part of the original figures as it was included on one of the teaser figures when they first announced the line. I had completely forgotten none of the original figures used it.

>>11770679
Eh, most people in this thread like the toys they buy and the company they buy em from. It's just random shitposters like to randomly shit post, and one or two specific trolls have absurd grudges against the company and will froth at the mouth trying to ruin the thread. No body here would ever claim any company is perfect, and when they mess up we'll all shit on em, but for the most part the main companies putting out fantasy figures do good work.

The white demon interests me slightly less because I am tired of that demon head, but the rest of him is a good build. The legs fit with the previous vampire Legion Builders, and I think i still have the vamp head from the AS5 head pack to use on it.

>Technically you are correct
And that is the best kind of correct.
I can vividly remember seeing the dragon topper in grey prototype/test shot form, but I couldn't remember if that pic was from before the Kickstarter or during it. I did some digging, and I'm pretty sure it was also on the never released black and gold knight seen on the very left edge of this pic from the 2014 Toypocalypse display where they first showed off the prototypes. It's a bit hard to tell because it's barely in shot and taken with a 2014 potato camera.
>>
>>11771147
oh shit, that demon is an instant buy!
The orc is neat as well, has some pretty cool parts.
>>
>>11771222
>>11771251
>Orc comes with the copper skull helmet with orange flames
ok never mind, he's an insta buy as well...
>>
>>11771222
Funny enough, it was someone describing the Shadow Orcs as Uruk Hai that eventually got me to buy em. Though I guess they were more dark red then blackish brown in the movies. But I feel the Shadow Orcs inhabit a similar role as being more aggressive, stronger Orcs.

The "Fury" tribe feels more like a clan of mixed races then a sub species of Orc seeing as it has Fury Minotaur and Elves in it's ranks. My "Fury" Clan is a foursome made up of a Samurai Orc, Muscle Skeleton, Minotaur and a potential Human....still a bit vague on the last one's true identity.

Though I agree an actual Fury Army builder would be nice, especially if they pop in a bunch of different heads (including an Orc head) to show all the potential different Fury Races out there.

>never released black and gold knight
They actually used that build to make King Bromdenn in the AoD kickstarter. His stock head was the Dwarf King one, but the Armet Helm with the dragon topper was an alt head/royal guard army builder option.

>>11771253
Honestly, if the Orc was any other color then Fury Red, he'd be an instant grab for me as well. But I really don't want more Fury characters and I can't figure out any other type of build I'd wanna make with that torso.

If I remember right, most of the Isengard Uruks were more reddish. Except Uglúk. I remember him being much darker than Lurtz. I think the Mordor Uruks seen in the Tower of Cirith Ungol were more blackish brown. But it's been years since I watched it, so I could be mistaken. It could just be how the old BFME tabletop game painted them. I'd usually paint the Isengard Uruks scab red, then coat them in red ink followed by diluted black ink. The Mordor ones I painted various browns with a diluted black ink wash.
>The "Fury" tribe feels more like a clan of mixed races
I never liked this retcon to the lore. Clavian was originally a blood skeleton and he and his followers were imbued with blood magic.
https://sourcehorsemen.com/mythic-legions/entry/clavian
The Fury Clan Orc bio doesn't mention other races, just that they are a seperate clan of orcs that are more intelligent than the greenskins.
https://sourcehorsemen.com/mythic-legions/entry/fury-clan-orc
It was Jeremy's obsession with making Fury Clan repaints of everything that resulted in the retcon, and is part of what led to me caring less about the lore now that he has taken over writing it.
>>11771317
Yeah, that's him. I forgot he was a dwarf. Bromden ended up a bit different with the red stripe like Gorgo, but you can tell that's definitely where the idea for him originated.

I have a bunch of the Toybiz LotR stuff, and all the Uruk Hai are a dark reddish brown, so yea that tracks. I guess it was more the backstory and behavior of the Shadow Orcs that reminded me of the Uruk Hai, being cave born and excessively savage. Once someone else pointed out that connection, I kinda broke down and grabbed Gorthokk and a pair of his Legion Builders. I was honestly surprised at how nice the Legion Builders were painted once I had em in hand. From pics it looks like they have simple black skin, but they actually have a black to brown transition that's fairly subtle, but matches Gorthokk nicely.

And yea, I'm familiar with the official lore...which is why I often ignore it. I don't completely write it off, but most of my figures fit into groups of my own preference.

As for the Fury Clan stuff, iirc it was Cornboy who first spread the idea that it wasn't all Orcs. Jeremy just kind of ran with it when they designed their 2022 Legionscon Exclusives,. It was always gonna be a two pack that doubled as a four pack so all the figures needed a fairly uniform color. Working with the Fury Clan just kind of grew from there, especially once the idea to base it off some podcaster friends of theirs popped up.

I already have like eight or so regular Orcs, and then the three Shadow Orc subgroup, so I personally don't really want a THIRD group of Orcs in my collection. So the Fury Clan being more then Orcs works well for me. But now I'm kinda thinking it might be cool to have a small group of Fury Orcs to act as grunts for the leaders of said Fury clan...I'll admit I'm not super crazy about my Muscle Skeleton figure, and I could easily use the bare torso for the Minotaur...

......and this is how the line gets ya.
>>
Which figure is better? Elijah or Enoch?
>>
>>11771403
Neat, but it shoulda been an updated Vlattia. Bernice is getting enough love as is.

>>11771413
I liked Elijah more because his armor is less ornate. Though I do wish the two switched helmets, Enoch would be so much more of a "boss" if had that bejeweled bucket helm and Elijah would be better as an army builder with a less ornate helmet.
>>
>>11771407
>As for the Fury Clan stuff, iirc it was Cornboy who first spread the idea that it wasn't all Orcs.
I'm pretty sure you're right, and I'm blaming the wrong person. I just remember Jeremy posting half a dozen Fury Clan repaints soon after the Orc release and me growing more dismissive of the idea with each one. I think the elf was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I also like the original idea for Clavian and hated that it got abandoned for "everything red is Fury Clan."

>>11771413
>Elijah or Enoch?
I have two Elijah's and four Enoch's, and each one has pros over the other.
>Elijah
More unique darker gunmetal armor, larger kite shield, ornate bucket helm.
>Enoch
Looks a bit like the Grail Knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, has a chained cloak that you can put on other knights to turn them into Templars, silver almost perfectly matches Silver Knight LB2 (and the upcoming Blue Shield knight builder) to swap helms and pauldrons with them, bucket helm with many customisation options (comes with feathered wings and Teutonic styled horns/wings, but the sockets fit all horns in the line so far), and his deco is really striking.

Honestly, I think I like Enoch slightly more, but I would still buy more Elijah's if I could find him for close to retail.

>>11771413
>Enoch would be so much more of a "boss" if had that bejeweled bucket helm
That helm is in the Blue Shield knight Builder and will be a close match to Enoch's silver. Unfortunately then you need to find helmets for Elijah, and I think the overpriced BBTS knight will be the best match.

Elric looks phenomenal but holy shit for a figure with so many accessories are the tolerances an absolute nightmare on almost everything. Cool figure but not as fun as I was expecting; I have to abuse it with heat even on things I've swapped multiple times.
>>
>>11771995
Honestly the more I handle it the less I like it. It's edging into "handsome garbage" territory.
>Decided to put on the cape and swap the head
>Alternate head's socket is visibly warped, have to apply a lot of heat
>Scabbard is in the way, struggle a little to pop it off but it does happen
>Now cannot get it to peg back into the skirt armor to save my fucking life because of the absurd fit of the mushroom peg
>All while the figure pops apart at the waist constantly because of what looks like a ton of excess flash in that socket
I don't mind needing to dunk a joint or two in hot water to free it, but everything on this thing is a fucking hassle. The one thing that's easy to separate shouldn't be. I've never handled Savage Crucible stuff until today but I'm not exactly impressed. It's rare that I get this irritated with a figure. Even Bandai's finnicky autism at its worst rarely does this to me.
>>
>>11771995
I love SCs stuff, but they never felt as fun to handle as a Legions figure. Their detented joints and awkward articulation set up hold them back despite how great they are. It's not enough to make me not buy em, but it's certainly enough to make me not handle as much as other figures.

>>11772044
I actually popped the straps to the scabbard off at the scabbard. I figured it'd be a nightmare getting a peg back into that belt piece, but getting the small strap back onto the peg of the scabbard itself would be way easier.

Mine doesn't have any of the QC issues yours seems to have though, so I do feel bad for you. His alt head was tight, but fit on after a bit of force and can now pop on and off easy. But I will admit that the way the cape attaches is awful. It's a cool cape and all, but hooking onto the pauldrons on the back of the shoulder ball joints is the worst place for them to go.
>>
>>11772065
>I actually popped the straps to the scabbard off at the scabbard
Fair but that's not really a solution if you want to plug in other accessories; the potion has a peg and they even accounted for the ability to swap the scabbard to the other side. Elric doesn't permanently run around with the Horn of Fate at his waist either. It's just a hassle to deal with the options they give you. I dilated the hole with a screwdriver for a more comfortable fit, though I'm sure the other side where I removed the Horn is going to be just as much of a bitch. Even ignoring tolerances there were more elegant ways of handling it.

Other than the torso (and arguably the alt head) QC is fine. Paint is good across the board. Having to heat up every hand to get the hinges to move is obnoxious, though. It's just a bunch of annoying things that add up. I'll enjoy it on the shelf despite my overreaction, but I'm disappointed with some of their decisions.
>>
>>11771995
>>11772044
Ah, sorry to hear that anons, sucks that he is a nuisance. I hate it when a figure is a hassle to handle, it's one of the things about cheaper figures that I feel is underrated, they are usually easier to pick up and mess around with when the mood grabs you.
>>
>>11772266
I find a lot of JP figures are like this, in pics they look fantastic and can pose endlessly. But in hand there's just so much going on it's hard to find an actually decent position for anything to be in. It becomes or of a hassle to pose the figure then a fun experience.
>>
>>11772281
I am still fairly new to collecting, but one thing I have come to appreciate is Bandai. SHF figures seem to get a lot of shit, but the three I have all have this inherent sense of fun and playability to them that is more than basically all of my others. I can't quite place what it is that is different or why, but something intangible about their hand feel or the way the joints move, the plastic maybe, I'm not exactly sure, but I always find myself playing with them more than my others. The other one that falls into a similar category is the FG Conan, even with his average range, he's so sturdy and feels nice in hand I reach for him quite often. I don't regret any of my other higher priced figures, I like them all, but I do wish reviewers were better at conveying that playability trait, but then maybe many of them don't recognise it because they buy a figure, fiddle with it and it goes on a shelf never to be touched again. I don't own any Savage Crucible yet and I am getting my first Inart soon, so I am excited to see what that is like in comparison.

Merlin is cool, but mostly because there's so few dedicated mages in the line, getting any new ones is always nice. Also his demon form looks pretty neat and I could easily just use those parts on a spare body to make a stand alone demon figure.

Arthur however is severely underwhelming. His armor is just excessively boring, and feels almost devoid of any paint details. They should've used the more ornate looking parts so he could feel a bit fancier. He also should've had a booming soft goods cape similar to the Knight that comes with the Dragon. Something to make him feel noble and important.

New heads and sword are cool, but he's just underwhelming otherwise. Still, I don't have a kind in my collection so I'll probably grab him.

That said, these guys should've been FO releases instead of Legionscon drops.

That's very nice, I'd totally buy these for Capcom's Knights of the Round reasons. but only a few retailers carry these convention figures, don't they? The local retailer where I usually buy ML has not carried the previous ones, and I don't feel like looking around for them or buying from BBTS as an overseas buyer.

Unless they have reworked the distribution, these should have been Figura Obscura instead. Convention figures should be fully skippable ones, not fucking Merlin and Arthur.

Yeah, jokes aside, it's lame that you can't do his armored look because of the lack of a helmeted head.

Savage Crucible will stock it in June. Follow their IG, they are very upfront on when to look for stock sales. Elric will go probably within the first day. Their two con figures so far this year will likely last much longer.
>>
>>11773927
BBTS stocks the LegionsCon version, they just sell quick. Then when they come up to be allowed to be shipped many months later people will randomly cancel their outstanding order and you might sweep up one if you missed the first time.

Making the Belvedire parts exclusive does suck major balls. Like how are you going t build a round table without more than one, dudes?

They've done Bog Goblins and Snakes, but I keep waiting for the introduction of Frogs. That will break my wallet.
>>
>>11774060
>filthy foreigners
We get fucked by all these American brands, it's so annoying. Japan and China are relatively, so much cheaper in comparison, I really don't understand the completely disparate shipping prices from the US. Japan basically has like universal prices, 1400 yen for packet light, 2400 for DHL, etc. same with China, it's even cheaper, yet, fucking American is all over the place. You get BBTS charging like $8 dollars for their lowest, but a shit ton in fees then VAT, McFarlane is probably the best at something like $10 as a base. Fourhorseman is like $25-30, Frazetta Girls is about $20, Savage Crucible is like $35 and fucking Mondo is $55 for a $95 1/12 figure. It's completely erratic and sometimes adding extra figures only raises it by like $2-5, other times it just doubles it.

Buying Mythic Legions or whatever from local shops is so insufferable, because they just convert dollars to pounds and then add all the additional mark ups/VAT, so they go from a reasonable army builder sort of line to the equivalent of Inarts or Japanese imports, defeating their appeal.
>>
>>11773956
Do you know how they fare quality-wise? Elric would be my first Savage Crucible figure if I get him. I recall seeing a 5ktoys post about the joints being POK or something like that.
>>
Got my Heroic Signatures Conan today at last, overall I like him a lot, but he did come with a few issues. Funnily enough, the teeth that were supposed to have been improved ended up being mispainted on mine, one leg has a wobbly knee joint and the other knee was paint fused, so when I heated it up to move it, a part of the paint was scraped off the knee and stayed stuck on the joint, which sucks. I think I'll see if they can send replacement legs, but aside from that, I like how all the joints feel, the paint is really nice and I am generally quite happy. He does have small hands though which is a bit weird.
>>
>>11775021
I noticed the small hand thing too, make the forearms look even worse when viewed at the wrong angle. The fist is especially tiny, almost comically so. It don't look as bad when he two hands an axe though.

Also, sorry to hear about your QC issues. Mine ended up seeming fine, except for some stuck shoulder joints. I really need to give him a hot bath to get those moving.

Thanks, not the end of the world, I've dropped them an email so maybe they can send replacement legs and face or something. On the forearm bit, I don't like how they made it so flat, but I do have to say it basically has double jointed range because of it. I have seen some people comparing it to Xesray saying it has the same range, but I'm pretty sure it goes further. He's a very cool figure though, I really like the paint, sculpt and the butterflies work pretty nicely which is cool. First figures in a new line often have some issues, hopefully their next ones are even better.
