I for one am thankful we are still getting generic pirates in some capacity despite Lego One Piece being out in full force
I am already forgotten
I have no space for Legos so I made this to play with them in my spare time. The little man you see in this picture is what I would do when I was a kid and didn't have a lego man to spare.
>>11764650>releases May 1No, I'm just waiting.
>>11764685but what's the point? how are you gonna play with a single character?
>>11764689Its a minifig, you don't play with them anyway, you just pose them in cars or mechs
>>11764689He can fight Ninjago characters or whatever else, all good. Show Kai who the real master of fire is. Or if one wants to use him as a cosplayer, he can go walk around a city or halloween party.I know lots of Bionicle fans have Tahu fatigue, but he's my favorite as my first Bionicle. I'm selfishly happy that if/when we get only one Bionicle item we're getting Tahu. I would of course like other Toa, Matoran, whatever else, but if it can only be one, I'm not complaining.
Remind me, weren't there rumors for an upcoming haunted house part of some sort of "halloween series"? Did I just imagine it?
>>11764681I don't get it. You do know lego digital designer is a thing?
>>11764699There does seem to be a haunted house coming, but I don't think we really know much of anything about it yet.
>>11764650You were NOTHING! A novelty at best. To be seen and forgotten just as quickly. You will adorn shelves for a few months then be shuffled off to bins, cupboards, and drawers once something new comes along. Soon enough you will be sold to second hand stores and stand among others who shined and were forgotten as you pose for hillbillies at flea markets.
>>11764642>Pirate shipLooks very cool. The only set here that I'll definitely buy >Minas TirithNot sure how I feel about the weird scale but it looks good. I'm sure it'll have a ridiculous price tag though. >ShrekWhy does lego keep making these awful looking brick-built figures? Who is buying these?
>>11764689I put minifigures on my lego sets (cut my life into pieces). I like to swap them out every now and again (suffocation no breathing don't give a FUCK if I cut my arm bleeding).
>>11764729>Who is buying these?they're trying to prove they can sell buildable figures without resorting to a dedicated constraction line. If they were smart and still wanted it to be licensed, they'd make Transformer figs in the 20-40 dollar range
Le GASP! The pug piece is coming in the beach trolly car too!
Hopperbros... /ourguy/ is back!
>>11764729>buildable figures Yeah it’s weird because by and large what people actually want from licenses are minifigures. There is of course a market for shelf warmer statues. But the purchasers of those things aren’t actually asking for that, they just see it and impulse buy it. When people were clamoring for a shrek license, they were clamoring for shrek minifigures. Yeah in the swamp with the house but that’s just fluff.
best set eva
>>11764642Apparently we get like 3 minifigure sets (atleast 2 vehicles and new avengers tower done in mini modular style) for Doomsday this year with a Doom bust and Herbie brickbuilt figure too. So that's 5 Doomsday sets for 2026. Next year we are getting Doom's castle from Latveria. One cool thing is that in Secret Wars, Battleworld will have a more medieval look so we might get some badass sets.
>>11764742that squirrel is dropping nuts
>here's your new pirates theme bro
where do u store spare parts?i only have kitchen plastic bag
New Joker minifig exclusive to a new Lego Batman book, coming soon.
>harry slopWhy does it sell
>>11764647Looks nice but at what price? Also I cannot understand how there are 1k pieces in this set. Is it all just tiny lil bits?I was contemplating joting this one down if its for 40e or something but I'll have to wait a long while before having the kid play with it.
>>11764784Why lego does new ver of same set, even if it isnt shit ip>because it sellsBut old set would sell to? How many of you will buy this if you already bought the previous version? Why they dont do another 3in1 set that is different, even a fucking imperial fleet would be more intresting. Meanwhile we get 3in1 castle and 3in1 pirateship every 3 years.
>>11764791Beloved children's property (once Lego's target demographic)Good source of Castle type buildsLong-established license with a good number of invested long term fansLess sloppy than Slop Wars
>>11764798It is simultaneously because they know they usually always want a certain thing on the shelf, but know that the "newness" has worn off, so they retire a set and put an ever-so-slightly-marginally-different version of the same thing out. Its exactly the same reason why they always have an X-Wing, or a Millennium Falcon, etc. out. It is the same damn thing, and people will still buy it anyway. And people are starving for Pirates and Castle, so they'll get whatever crumbs they can.
>all shillspamSo tiresome
How much is Minas Tirith going to cost bros? I'm scared...
holy fuck, that's awful
>>11764813didn't the leak already say it's 8k pieces for $650
>>11764813$650-$700 price range according to leakersNot that bad, better than the death star price
>>11764817Cumgoblin dobby

>>11764647The dual little boat alt built is almost like an army builder set for pirates, kinda neat>>11764724Nah, bonklefags will seethe about him for years to come
>>11764823>master has given dobby a cock!
>>11764817Just buy it.
>>11764839I...actually might do once it hits the bargain bin. That ghastly thing looks like as if it might have some meme-potential with the face prints and the flesh-colored parts.
>>11764843If you buy two you could combine them into something really disturbing.
why is creator 3in1 becoming little girl displayslop? We used to get all sorts of neat smaller minifigure scale sets in this theme. Now it seems like the formula for each wave is:>one or two large minifigure scale sets harkening back to the good old days £100~>several brick built animals that are overpriced £60~>at least 3 cheap display sets for little girls £20~ (picrel)Where are the £20 submarines and swamp boats and shit we used to get? Where are the minifigure scale houses and buildings?
>>11764859because you niggers keep buying it
>>11764873I don't understand who is buying these sets? I always see them discounted and I'm still not tempted by them. I don't think thing but lego even sells that well. Are there just no straight male lego set designers that want to make cool shit for boys anymore?
>>11764875their designers are probably filled with trannies, women, and raging homos. The flower builds aren't bad, but who gives a shit about it after 50 sets of the same bland stuff. Afol cucks love display items. Having a small simple house would force them to connect it to a different setup or god forbid make a moc out of it.
>>11764875I'd sooner wager that they're trying to get more girls into legos with the idea of "increasing sales by 50%" but yeah I don't think girls will ever be as into lego as boys.
>>11764878lego was going into the right direction with those fuckable dragons from the elves line. Why don't they do those anymore, did girls not like that series
>>11764877Hell, their lead designer is a giant flaming homo who pushed the Queer Eye set and probably inserted himself into Friends with that one faggy blond minidoll.
>>11764879Please seek help
>>11764883weak blood. Somehow the faggots at lego made a good looking dragon, which blows all the modern stiff ninjago ones out of the water and made it very kissable too. You're ngmi

>>11764642>those trainswow what a disappointment! so we're pretty much stuck with the gimmicky Arctic and Police trains for the next few years before we can even see a new express train.
>>11764821>$650-$700>Not that bad
It seems I asked at the end of the last thread's life, so I'll ask again here. I am slowly getting the parts together to make a Conan the Barbarian MOC of the Tower of the Elephant. I'm trying to pick between these two versions of the evil sorcerer Yara I made. Do you guys have preferences? The one with legs feels a little plain, his beard covers up most of his torso details. the one with skirt piece for robe looks more elaborate, but not as posable. I'm on the fence and figured I'd let my homies here make the choice.I dig the Queen/Flash reference from last thread, but thats a different dude in a robe haha. I buy/read the Flash Gordon comics published by Madcave right now and those are super fun, it gets a high recommendation.

>>11764922I still like the first one… for to hear the lamentations of their women.
>>11764922The first one for sure. The dress legpiece gives a figure a lot more volume and presence. It suits him way better, even disregarding the added print detail.

>>11764793>Is it all just tiny lil bits?Modern lego's all like this. I swear when I buy a 500+ pieces set at least 100 of them are 1x1 and 1x2 plates and tiles
>>11764642Why are Lego allergic to including actual tracks in their train sets now? Even the powered one.
>>11764642i hate how lego refuses to make regular LotR play sets like before. why does it all have to be huge 350-500$ sets?
>>11764991Because no one under 25 cares about lotr
>>11764941the dragon looks neat
Picked this up for $35 today.Fun challenge: find the hidden classic smiley.
>>11764791It sells, because not everyone is a tranny and it fills a gap between fantasy and castle that lego refuses to make a theme for. Get out of your discord bubble.

Are any of you autistic? I am a tourist, but I am wondering if any of you know of an early 90's or very late 80's lego set that Robin Hood/Medieval themed. Otherwise is there an archive that lets you search releases by year?

who asked for this? If it was a yellow naboo N-1 I'd be interested, no one wants this mandalorian shitAt least the new cockpit piece can be used to make a yellow N-1 I guess but fuck paying $240 for that shit.
forgot my image damn, my point standsUgly as hell blob of grey bullshit.
>>11765043>Otherwise is there an archive that lets you search releases by year?I like Brickset for this since the pictures are better quality than Bricklink. Just go to sets > browse > theme: castle > subtheme: forestmen and you'll likely find what you're looking for.
>>11765116>>11765119it's $250 evenhonestly i like the look but 1800 pieces for that price is insane, there's even stickersprice was 100% set with the darksaber gwp in mind

>>11765156we never knew how good we had itReal chrome pieces, and we had real gold pieces too back in the day, remember the classic coins that came with all the pirate sets back in the day?
>>11765156>>11765165I'm a huge classic enthusiast and I despise real chrome. It doesn't matter how good it looks when it chips and wears the way it does. Playability > aesthetics
>>11765166Don't chew on your pieces then
>>11765082Im buying two of this set for sure. I love all three modes and it looks fun to MOC
>>11765165Wait what they dont do gold coins anymore!? Man I'm glad my chest survived.
>>11765166I played the shit out of my oxygen crystals back in the day and I have plenty that look great
>>11765116i fully agree, even the playset was wack and a shelfwarmer and then they release this junk. a yellow naboo starfighter would have sold way more.
>>11765166I never had any problems with the chrome coins and the wear on the chrome swords added to the charm imo. Turning them into rare or legendary swords when i played with them as a kid.
>>11765225Mainly because it’s yellow, and not bley as a very starting point
>>11765107I do miss those days. I'm a huge dork for vehicles at minifig scale. It took some effort a while back but I managed to get the Blue Power Jet. Manuals were in bad condition and the box was worse, but the pieces were all there. I even found some nice parts to make a pair of flight uniforms for it. This is the torso I used.
>>11765119Taking a shining and loud spaceship and turning it into a dulled stripped down one is the perfect visual metaphor for disney and lego
>>11765232And these were the legs. I don't know where they came from. I asked here ages ago and someone thought they must have been a BAM piece.
>>11765107I really liked the single person vehicles these sets put out too, the smaller ones. Like the helicopter drone and the cyber drone. The helicopter was designed to seat a minifig. And the cyber drone I kept in it's second configuration. The main one was nice but it couldn't hold a minifig with a helmet or hair. So this one suited me better. I think growing up with He-Man and Thundercats made me like those single person flying machines much more.
>>11764997That will look nice next to the buildable creeper I have
>>11765107200 fewer pieces, you mean
>>11765107I'm old enough to remember when Creator didn't even have minifigures in their sets
>>11765259ok zoomzoom
Pretty satisfied with how the bridge came out, Next up it’s the tower and gate house, And build more support beams
>castle/space/pirates moc>uses fleshies
>>11765205chrome coins got phased out over a decade agonot sure when exactly, i know pirates 2 still had them but they were gone by the time potc came out
>>11765259me too, but your example is still a minifigure scale set.
>>11765283Funny story with PotC actually, 4181 Isla De Muerta depicted chrome gold bars in promotional material, including the box, but came with pearl gold ones. Apparently some people complained about this to Lego and actually had chrome gold ones mailed to them.
>>11765119>all those stickersabsolutely disgusting
>>11765290It's only a $250 set anon, can't expect them to feature all prints in a paultry set like this.I really do wonder what kind of threshold a set needs to meet to justify prints only.
>>11765291Jazz Club was <$250 and all printed
they still use chrome for lotr ring
>>11765259>tfw this entire log cabin build was only 30$ 15 years ago>meanwhile the cheapest house build nowadays is twice the price despite being the same size
>>11765259>>11765259Creator used to look like that1!?!?
>>11765290maybe it's stickers because they knew the yellow looks like garbage so you can just not use them even though it's like that in the show
>>11765296They know LotR fans have some standards, unlike SW piggies.
>>11765298Name a single house that’s double the price and the same size. The closest analogue I could find on store shelves today is the Unicorn Castle 3-in-1, which is roughly the same price (accounting for inflation), has 10% more pieces, and has three horse figures.
>>11765399>They know LotR fans have some standardsLOL. LMAO even
>>11765414I mean, outside of the books it's a normalfag series now but like Lucas Jackson had his own dogshit prequel trilogy that was unanimously seen as dogshit. And unlike the prequel trilogy there are no nostalgiafags to pretend it was good even. LotR really has had no major impact on pop culture since the original trilogy of films, none of their attempts at milking it has been syccessful unlike Star Wars.
>>11765408Just look on fucking Amazon, this is literally the cheapest house
>>11765455>Paying Amazon pricesThere's your problem.
>>11765455>”same size”>2.5x the piece count>an extra pound of bricksFor like 12 bucks more, this isn’t bad at all. Why is it that, any time we do some sort of concrete set-by-set comparison, the inescapable conclusion is that Lego is more affordable today than in any prior decade?
>>11765480Two more minifigures as well
>>11765419The literal only good thing about the hobbit movies is the lego lineup for it, funny shit
>>11765455Amazon is a last resort for me, too many people fuck with shit then return it and it goes right back in circulation
>>11765461>>11765494>>11765455I mentioned amazon because most of the time the prices are MSRP, plus (as it turns out) that House set is out of stock on the lego site.>2.5x the piece counta piece count artificially inflated by the bajillion of tiny pieces that are only there to justify the price
>>11765107>>11765238I think they were going toward something akin to those smaller sets with these two in Dreamzzz, down to the accompanying minifigAlso, inb4 "10 instructions online only", think of it as a return to the older Make and Create which came with instructionless inspiration builds.
>>11765499>tiny piece inflation It’s also 30% more massive. That’s why I specifically included the weight comparison you dumb motherfucker. So you get an extra pound of bricks (about 500 additional pieces), for about $15 more. This isn’t an unfavourable comparison however you look at it.
>>11765505That Z-Blob set is amazing. Love the main lil robot.
>still no knight with the classic cross spider as their insigniaIt’s so simple and good of an idea but yet Lego refuses, but why?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr_Trlnskhc
>Lego is cheaper if you use inflation!>Lego gives you more pieces!!>Its just much better than it used to be!!!Sorry buds but you can't do shit with 100 1x1 elements. You can't build shit with. You can't make a building or a car. No, it's a ton of filler that would only be used for decorating or adding texture to a larger build. I hate that almost all new sets have 30 extra steps to make a shape that should only need 4 or 5 pieces. Sometimes it feels like it's for build stability, but sometimes it doesn't make the build strong at all. Not to mention a lot of new elements have come out that are super specific like vehicle parts. More worsterser than the worst is that the plastic is thinner/lighter/less solid than it used to be.
>>11765576>cheaper if you use inflationCan you give me a single reason we ought not adjust for inflation or are you just looking for any means of clinging to this completely untenable, “only six figure yuppie gigachads can afford lego now!” talking point?Everything else is totally subjective. I personally like the intricate details and finer forms of more modern sets, but I understand there’s a lot of charm to the older, blockier builds. I’m not interested in fighting you on matters of opinion. But it remains a matter of fact that Lego is not “twice as expensive for the same thing,” today, at least not looking at the examples you yourself provided.
>>11765589Back then less was more. We are getting charged the same price for worse sets. You want an example? The Batman Batmobile old set vs new set. Old one comes with a villain, new one doesn't. Sure, the new one visually looks more intricate and detailed, yet it doesn't come with any big blue fire pieces. There are tons of pieces under the build exterior that serve no prupose. This isn't new tho, it's been getting worse and worse, as someone who back into Lego like 12 years ago. That's twelve years of improvement for you but 12 years regression for me. And it's not just the builds. The packaging is getting worse. Even the paper bags feel half assed AND something that should have been done 20 years ago. The company is getting bigger. They are producing more and more sets in manufacturing, meaning they have to rush this shit out now to meet demand. They raised the prices the same year they reported their highest revenue/profit ever, and this was without covid or an oil shortage or inflation to fuck with supply and demand. I still buy Lego and enjoy building sets and moccing but I'm not going to pretend that the current state of Lego is perfect. Like, if they refuse to make smaller more affordable, less intricate, more imaginative sets for kids, then all they will have is us older customers. If kids only want TikTok and Minecraft, how will Lego survive? Especially since they're so comfortable abandoning their original themes. And I mean REAL original themes, not shit tied to cartoon media that needs to be outsourced by some other company. If licenses fully replace original themes then that puts the company in jeopardy that they are subservient to Disney/Warner/Universal/Nintendo instead of Lego doing whatever they want to do in terms of sets. And in all honesty it feels like they cannot do what they want anymore. People used to complain about it in the past but now I see how licensed sets are a drag on the toy.
>>11765629tl;dr but I spiritually intuit that he's right
caring about minifigs is so cringe
>>11765414>the Rohan toon movie flopped>rings of power flopped>Hobbit trilogy largely despised, no Sonic Cycle "ackshully it was good" apologismLotR fans have far, far higher standards than Slop Wars piggies, objectively. Their biggest sin is consooming the MtG set with Niggagorn- admittedly a black mark but not nearly the humiliation ritual Luke has been through.

>>11765656Mousecucks don't MOC, they armybuild
>>11765663>He doesn't army build micro MOCs of star ships and swoosh them and destroy themLol. LMAO.
>>11765589I actually think the reasoning behind people talking about Lego being more expensive these days are more abstract than literal comparison of similarly priced sets with regards to inflation, and things like piece count. For starters, Lego has such an overwhelming number of IPs now, and far more sets within those IPs than they ever used to, and they tend to even release more sets in every "wave" throughout the year.Even if you hate Star Wars, in the early years, there were some years where they'd only release maybe 10 sets. Now, they practically release 10 sets at a time, like a half a dozen times a year (or more.)But I think one of the biggest things that no one really accounts for is this: Regardless of inflation, Lego just almost never released sets more than $100 in the 80s and 90s. Outside of maybe some of the big monorails and stuff with sounds and electronics, it just feels like it never happened. Even the biggest "flagship" set of any given theme was in the $80-$100 range. The biggest pirate ship. The biggest Castle. The biggest Star ship or space base. They were all within that range. It also felt like Lego really focused on many very small sets. like most themes legitimately felt like half the sets were sub $15 or so.Now it feels like the entry level to many themes is $100. Star Wars on its own has like 5 sets on shelves right now that are in the $500-$1000 range, and probably as many more that are in the $250-$500 range.
I think what puts me off from buying a dreamzzz set are the minifigsThey're too schizo and adhd and just don't fit in with legos desu
>>11765116>>11765119Supposedly lego secretly hates the prequel era. Also it's literally an N1 but in grey with PC mods, I don't give a single shit about modern disney wars nor mando shit but I won't mindlessly hate on a cool ship especially if it's literally just a color-swap of an older beloved prequel ship.
>>11765127>they blew the opportunity for the mechanic lady to say something fun and cute like "it's an N-1 fighter from Naboo, but I guess in your case we could call it the M-1 for Mando, right? [chuckles]..." and then this ship would be forever known as the M-1You're already a better writer than the entire current star wars team combined. They have no creativity whatsoever, it's the exact reason why the mando N-1 even exists to begin with, if the shameless tatooine "podracing" scene didn't already tip you off.
>>11765676I just don't care for oversized ucs. They could have just made it slightly smaller and have it be a perfect minifig scale. Like why does it need to be this specific size? It's just arbitary shit lego decided on
>>11765259For me, nothing will ever top pic-related.
>>11765678>Like why does it need to be this specific size?I imaging making it smaller would make it lose out on some of the shaping and details. I agree though, would have preferred a smaller one. The playset exists but it looks so horrendously bad I legit did not even realize it was supposed to be an N1 at first.
>>11765676>I don't give a single shit about modern disney wars nor mando shit but I will happily slurp the slop! i-it's BASED when i fund the ongoing rape of the franchise as long as it's le heckin kino OT PT!cuck
>>11765116>>11765119>>11765290They seriously want 240 bucks for this crap? Can't believe I actually considered maybe getting this before it got revealed. It's the year 2026 and they STILL cannot fucking color-match stickers. TLG can suck a new one.
>>11765683I never said any of that, you're just putting words in my mouth so you can lash out against your own strawman.
>>11765678>They could have just made it slightly smaller and have it be a perfect minifig scaleIf it was minifig scale it would have been smaller than the playscale one, lmao.I hate the minifig scale meme. It's not a real thing and shouldn't be.
please purchase smart play products
>>11765686I didn't even realize the cockpit bit was a sticker tooOof
>>11765696i don't even know what smart bricks are supposed to be or do
>>11765723attend a demo session at your local LEGO® store to find out!
>>11765723they're supposed to be a multimedia effects player that can provide a variety of functions based solely on the data able to be transmitted by an rfid tagthe problem is that rfid tags can't transmit very much data so the multimedia features are extremely limited and of disappointingly poor quality
>>11765723They don't make STAR WARS™ official licensed sounds so mousecucks hate themThey still buy them though
>>11765727>at your local Lego storeYou mean the women’s department of your local Walmart?
>>11765743They do play star wars music but don't play the iconic pew pew soundsI wonder why though - would there be a licensing agreement where some other toy manufacturer already has the exclusive rights to use those sounds in their products? Surely the sound effects aren't prohibitively expensive to license if they can get the music
>>11765747This is the target audience.https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVsFmWzjSiH/
>>11765750>I might not get these smart play sets but I'll get ones laternot even the consoomer shill wants the current smart play sets
>>11765747I believe it's a technical issue in that the sound library either lacks the fidelity or capacity to play those sound effects
>>11765753That's bullshit, the smart brick has a synthesizer and can play multi-layer MIDI audio (eg the cantina theme with bass and melody). It can definitely replicate the star wars pew pew sounds, they're no more complicated than what the brick is already demonstrated to be capable of
>>11765727>at your local Ollie'sftfy
>>11765166the only chrome parts I had that chipped were the big swords from the castle line, and that's because they bent stretching the paint and causing it to break off. Solid parts that don't bend held up excellent, all the coins from pirates I have, all the spears from the aquazone sets and those crystals too, the chrome parts from aquanauts, the chestplates from the spanish pirates, etc.
>order cmf>comes>print on right leg is fucked, was printed too far to the right so now there's a yellow streak between the middle of the hips center and legIs this a serious problem with cmfs? I remember buying some series 1 and 2 figures and thinking they felt like cheap dogshit. More modern series feel a lot better but ordering a minifig and having to gamble on the print is offputting.Pic related, this a common issue on specific minifigs or something?
>LEGO discontinues the DOTS theme in 2023>In 2024 Creator starts to focus on real life objects and display sets as opposed to minifig scale sets like in previous yearsYou guys are overreacting as usual. Rather than creating a successor to DOTS, LEGO got really clever and used Creator to pander to girls and women. It's that simple.
>>11765794I have several "red underwear printed on yellow legs" pieces with this same print misalignment issueI don't think lego is generally very good at edge-to-edge printing, and CMFs seem to be worse than normal factory parts
>>11765794It’s ubiquitous. Both these wolverines are fucked up. One was a CMF and the other came with the X-Jet.
>>11765127I just realised, how come they use Latin letters for ships, droids, etc in Star Wars when their alphabet is Aurabesh in-universe? Especially ships like X-wing and Y-wing where the letter comes from the shape of the ship, so it's clearly the Latin character and not the phonetic equivalent in Aurabesh.
>$40what the fuck how
>>11765803because they know they can get away with it
>>11765802I figured it was an out-of-universe translation. Like the characters and names aren’t actually in English, but that’s how it’s presented so viewers can understand it.So an N-1 would actually be a “Nern 1”, but nobody would know what that means, so it’s “translated” to N-1 for the audience.
>>11765802the in-universe explanation is that our "regular alphabet" is some kind of galactic ancient letters, so those are sometimes used as prestige markingssimilar to the way we use Roman Numerals for numbers like "Superbowl LIX" doesn't make sense either
>>11765796>I have several "red underwear printed on yellow legs" pieces with this same print misalignment issueIs there like some kind of issue with getting dark red to print on minifigs? I grabbed a few orcs, four in total, and fucking three of them have this issue, seen here on this one. I try not to let it bother me but on a minifig I otherwise love it pisses me off.
>>11765747>>11765755I'm pretty sure the limiting factor is the size of the RFID chips (~1kB) and they can only fit the midi format. The better solution would be to have the sounds stored on the bricks in mp3 or something and you can update them using bluetooth and a phone app so they aren't including the Star Wars sounds in non-licenced sets. That would also allow creativity and kids writing their own basic functions (eg when a green piece touches the side of the brick, play rocket sound effect and create red light).
>>11765804i liked the four gentlemen botanicals because they're usually priced at $20 in stores but those lilies are a scam
>>11765505Both look creative. But one thing I always wondered. Why didn't they put out a purple piece like this for the stuffed rabbit piece?
>>11765629I don’t disagree with a lot of what you’ve laid out (especially the ascension of IP product), but I was reckoning purely with the example given and purely with the notion that we’re “paying double for the same product,” which doesn’t appear to be the case.>>11765668Yeah, the average price of sets has something like doubled in the last decade and a half, and a lot of the flagship IP icons sets start around $300. Lego’s absolutely leaning into adult lifestyle marketing and positioning itself as a “luxury” product, but (as cringe as all that is) this isn’t really happening to the exclusion of smaller, cheaper sets which exist in higher numbers today than ever before (even if the make up a smaller proportion of Lego’s output now). A lot of people also seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouths. They feel left out of, say, The 40,000 piece, $3600 enterprise made almost entirely of cheese slops and greebling pieces, but they claim to only like 200 piece sets with nothing more complicated than a 2x2 inclined brick.
>botanicalsWhat's with normies' fascination with this stuff. Plastic flowers are already a thing better looking and far cheaper? I must admit the new mushroom set looks cool but
So what do you think? Do we get Roadrunner sets soon™?
>>11765856>What's with normies' fascination with this stuff.Adult LEGO fans get to experience the same fun of putting something together that they enjoyed as a kid, and it results in something you can display as a normie without the same shame as something extremely nerdy like a castle. I don't think it's terrible surprising at all that they're popular. They also tend to be smaller sets that somehow retail for like $50, so it seems like they have a pretty healthy profit margin.
>>11765860So much hype! Can’t wait for these kino kits! This will be so based and sovl! New thread when?
>>11765856As far as the normalfag themes go I am honestly okay with botanicals, I think the art and architecture lines have done way more harm in presenting boring, uninspired builds as being socially acceptable.
>>11765856not a fan of the lazy overpriced bouquets and branches but the potted plants were fun to build and look great too
>>11765289i hate pearl gold for coins and bars, fucking ugly.

There's already a new challenge up on Lego Ideas. This time, it's the Batmobile.>What makes Batman an iconic superhero? Is it his fighting skills and growling voice? The Bat Family of crime-fighting allies at his side, protecting Gotham City against an ultimate rogue gallery? The legacy of the Dark Knight is built on all of these... and more! Because in Gotham City, Batman's identity isn't just tied to his cloak and drive for justice. His legacy is also written in the engine roar of the Batmobile. >Your Mission Objective In our newest LEGO Ideas challenge, we invite you to build upon that legacy. Design Batman’s next ride. A simple task with one minor caveat: your build must celebrate what you find special by the 80-year heritage of Batman lore and arguably the most iconic fantasy vehicle ever. >A Celebration of the Batmobile This challenge is held as a celebration of the upcoming LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game and in honor of the 20th anniversary of LEGO DC Batman. The LEGO Batmobile comes in almost all shapes and sizes. And like the new video game which pays homage to all the coolest Batmobiles throughout history, your design should capture what makes a true Batmobile: power, presence, and pure-crimefighting capability. >Rules of engagement The Batmobile is fast. It sparks fear in every villain. And it most definitely comes in black – although other color schemes are allowed as long as Batman would approve! Grab your bricks, get inspired by the evolution of Gotham City’s most iconic machinery, and build the quintessential Batmobile. Load it with gadgets. Shine it up to turn heads. Or make it so intimidating, the bad guys check themselves into Arkham Asylum. It’s your choice. Your build. Your Batmobile.
>>11765882>batmobileAgain? How lame is that. You'd think Batman and Gothem City is big enough to draw inspriation from. But nope it's another batmobile.
>>11765875Ugliest color in lego's current lineup, lime green is a close second. I pray for the day they adopt metalic gold for all gold elements.
>>11765892why did they get rid of the chrome metal colors anyways? the chrome silver also looked much cooler than the dull silver stuff we get now.
>>11765895Chrome was beautiful but it chipped so easily. I have so many chrome pieces from my childhood and the only ones that don’t have chips are the ones I didn’t actually play with
So if I'm buying this new Lego pirate ship with a bunch of slutty female pirates...I should be able to buy some old Lego heads and just swap them? Or do they have molded tits now?>yes I'm a casual
