So realistically how long should people be skeptical of Lavender? While I like the idea of people not trusting her at first instead of just accepting her despite trying to kill their friends realistically she'd probably bail on Beacon if even after proving herself she was treated like a ticking time bomb. Basically her whole thing is that she craves acceptance and affection and it really doesn't make sense for her to stay at Beacon where she can obviously she isn't wanted as opposed to staying with Romeo who loves her unconditionally and would allow her to search for the cult in her own way without nearly as many restrictions.

Secondly the scene is Romeo's pov, its emphasized because he's personally bitter and worried about it because that's the little sister who he had to physically fight in order to get her to accept he wanted to help her running into the arms of someone he sees as a manipulator.Also because I realize that rambling sort of feels like I'm beating around the bush I will confirm that Lavender does currently love Henna more but not by any substatial degree. It'll be clearer as Vacuo goes on and her thought process is explored more but she has accepted at this point that she was wrong about her brother and wants to reforge their connection. The way I'm tackling it is that in her eyes it's not a matter of who she loves more, she wants them both in her life because at this point she hasn't been hit with the reality that she can't have them both.

However you imagine a character speaking in a given scene, they are human and need to take breathers between lines, so you'll need to reflect the pacing that you visualize. Not only does it help readers with being able to get through your work but it'll actually help your workflow. I don't know what font and size you use in google docs, but I use Arial and size 10 and make sure that each paragraph doesn't go longer than 5 lines in the doc. It ends up looking good on AO3 both on desktop and mobile, but I'd advise trying to keep it shorter still.Another point is that you should separate dialogue into its own line or paragraph, that way it doesn't get buried in the middle of a wall of text.
