General for discussion of Human Domestication Guide & associated fiction.scribbleffini Edition>What is HDG?HDG is a collective kink writing project about the Affini (an advanced precursor civilization from outer space), who aggressively care for every other species in the universe. They have finally turned their many eyes on future grimderp hypercapitalist hellscape humanity. Using their natural charisma and various classes of Xenodrugs, they aim to make Florets (d̶o̶c̶i̶l̶e̶,̶ ̶d̶r̶u̶g̶ ̶a̶d̶d̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶p̶e̶t̶s̶ loved and cared for individuals) of us all! But don't worry, they only have everyone's best interests at heart, even if their methods are quite clearly not consensual~>Where can I read it?Read the original story here https://readonlymind.com/@GlitchyRobo/HumanDomesticationGuide/or check other stories on ROM https://readonlymind.com/search/?q=%23Human_Domestication_Guideor Ao3 https://archiveofourown.org/tags/Human%20Domestication%20Guide%20-%20GlitchyRobo/worksor the wiki: https://humandomestication.guide/goodbye old thread...: https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/72124784

minifini and their jumbo flort
>>72178509every time you ask her to stop, a visible wave of purple ripples through her eyes... a shiver runs through her vines at the way you flinch whenever she grabs you...i think i could fix her.
Reposting from last thread since i was too slow in my amazing shooping skilzzif atleast one of you is atleast somewhat amused for half a second by these shitty shoops thats my autism has had me make evry now and then thats totaly worth it lmao <3
You ever think about how eating spicy food is just a socialy acceptable form of masocismits litteraly just inflicting pain on ourselves
>>72178657ohhh gosh goodness that's. um. wow. the way she can barely even hide how it makes her feel when you ask her to stop, when you flinch at her touch, when you tremble from her observation, when you seem so, so vulnerable, so easily exploited in her vines... such a creep she doesn't even bother hiding how turned-on it makes her to know how utterly helpless you are in her grasp...i-i could fix her too. i think. or maybe she'd fix me. >///<
>>72179566wrong thread probablybut good image
>>72179566>>>72178662I am amused
You know, it realy wouldnt be good for me to be given any drugs that inhibit my coordination or motorcontrol. I can already barely go a day without painfully bumping into something.

Why don't you introduce yourself?">The floret squirms nervously, idly playing with a vine>"C-can we have sex now?">The Affini clicks her tongue>"You need to romance them a little, petal. They aren't one of your plushies, you can't just mount them like a dog.">The floret's penis throbs>"Uuuh...">You ask the Affini if it's okay for you to leave, and she smiles>"Please do give us a chance, darling. It's been a while for her.">She strokes the floret's jawline with a knuckle>"Could you try complimenting them?">"... your mouth looks really cute, I'd really like to have sex with it...">There's an awkward moment of silence>And then you feel a sharp pain fire up your leg>Looking under the table you see a vine slinking away from you>Motherfucker>You slump onto the table, sucking air through your teeth as the hot pain crawls upwards>The heat rapidly cools to a cold, tingly feeling that settles in all of your limbs making them feel numb and weak, but a warmth spreads through the rest of your body as you become flush with arousal>"Petal, try asking about their work.">"Um, what do you do for work?">You tell her that you're a moderator online between panting breaths>"That's cool. >>72180226>stupidly sexed-up flort with such an innocent demeanour, despite being seemingly constantly in a state of rut from how pathetically needy that fat *thing* between her legs is, and lowkey seeming like some kind of creep whenever you interact with her for more than a few seconds>motherly affini who essentially did this to her, trying her best to coax her back into a state of normalcy, but adoring how utterly mindhazed her little petal is when that throbbing *thing* starts thinking instead of her little brain, and ending up doing nothing but reinforcing that it's okay for her...anon, you're a genius
>>72180002sounds like you need some soft & cozy habpadding
>>72180632N-No! I just need to not be given drugs that will make it worse!Im fine day to day, we terrans are not as flimsy as we look! Its only when i get wasted that its *seriously* bad. So no dizzy drugs!

>>72180887nona you said yourself that you struggle to go a day without bumping into somethingyou're gonna get domesticated and have habpadding installed in your owner's hab sooner or later, may as well start now and get used to it
>>72180002anon the vet will try to cure your mobility issues
>>72181308>>72181106No! Thats demeaning! The bumping isnt an issue! My coordination is what needs improving! (and not making worse with drugs!!)Is- is that possible though?
>>72181567>pretty plantsseeeeeeeeedddd......
>>72181694Oh so making purely aethetic obeservations somehow implies that i want to be made into a pet now? Cause i d-definitely dont! And even if i was a pet i woulnt want to live in a padded cell! I much prefer the option where my coordination is fixed, somehow.
>>72182347Petal, there are a number of things indicating that you're a seed, already calling us Affini pretty is just the most obvious sign. Add to that those cute little stutters, it's a wonder you haven't found an owner yet. As for the co-ordination "issue", I'm sure we could go to the vet to get that worked out ;;;)
>>72182654>there are a number of things indicating that you're a seedAre not!>go to the vet to get that worked out ;;;)Fine, i will!Because i dont want to live in a padded cell! And not bumping into things is also nice guess. Or having this meat thing under controll in general. Not sure im a big fan of how you're winking when suggesting that, but i guess it cant hurt i have it checked out... i never even considerd that such trival things might be correctable with your fancy pants future tech.
Hey uhmm- what's a 'notice of intent to domesticate'. I found one taped to my door. . .
>>72183261Cmon nona. Use your reading comprehension. Its a document that gives you notice of someones intent to donesticate you. Now you go file your answer with the buerocracy.
>>72179632the girl is the affini and the boy is the floret.this is always the case. in every heterosexual relationship
Two 'fini who's florets are pinnates, but the 'fini kinda hate each other. Forced to pretend as though they don't as to not upset their florets.
>>72183543Wait really? B-But how can the note say it's from my neighbor if my neighbor is terran! Well- I mean I guess I just assumed, I never saw her leave her hab- or maybe I don't get out of my hab often enough. . .What kind of affini would wanna domesticate someone they've never even seen let alone spoken to!I can 'file my answer with the bureaucracy' online right? I don't wanna have to go out today.
>>72180318>>72180226this is doing something to me. do... do affini really do this kind of thing to their florets...? like. how often
>>72181466are you kidding? that's way too cute a 'problem' to fix. their mistress will probably just tape foam pads to all the furniture at skull and shin height and call it a day
>>72183659Who says they've never seen you? They can just look you up in the database silly.Yes, the buerocracy is available online. Though... if you're planning on filing a no, you should probabbly get out more. They get concerned about that kind of thing. Not a big fan of hikis.
>>72183659you can send it in, but if you file it in person a helpful finni can walk you through how best to accept things. You wouldn't want to get off to a rough start with your new best friend, would you? >>72183060>Or having this meat thing under control in general.Anon they're talking about replacing your "problem parts" (central nervous system)with planttechthey can fix your balance and coordination with an implant, but it'll have to be able to puppet your spine in order to do so. >>72183683often enough that there's probably a few around in your area. casual like, loving degradation in this setting tops its equivalents anywhere else. those affInIHbFY greentexts a while back about affini being able to smell when you haven't masturbated for a while and taking you to a vet to get you some medicine to make you 'more interested in other little petals'... gnhnn i think about it all the timethe>Sometimes when two little florets feel very strongly about one another, they begin to wrestle adorably. It's perfectly safe as long as an affini is watching over them to ensure they don't get too silly or dehydrated. god. i have that thread bookmarked in the archive
>>72183585>two affini who stopped caring about scaring the florets and fight all day
>>72183849I-Is that what the affini barging into my house with a camera was for? Stars the photos must've been so un-flattering. . .And it sounds like a them-problem if they don't like 'hikis'. Good thing I make it a very easy problem to ignore! Just don't think about the human that lives in that hab and it's like the problem doesn't exist.>>72183908I don't need a new best friend I already have one. His name is 'personal computer' and he knows all my hobbies and favorite movies and games, and he makes the time pass so quickly. Lets me fast forward to the best part of the day, sleeping.

>>72184524four arms are much better to hold and protect cute, fragile terrans with than just two
>>72183060Okay, let's go to the vet then! Don't mind my vines, they're just to help you not bump into things on the way there>>72183908It's not 'replacing' their CNS, it's augmenting it. You wouldn't say a pacemaker is 'replacing' a heart, would you?
>>72180226THIS IS SO, SO GOOD! oh wow... this is really hot..... like, what do you think she used to be like? was the floret just a totally normal person before her affini took her in? maybe she got a bit stressed about work and repressed her desires a bit too much so she thought it'd be a good idea to ask for some help from an affini and the next thing she knows she's become *this*... but she doesn't mind, she can't even spare the mental capacity to care. she's too busy thinking about how badly she wants to have sex and hump whatever is nearby until she feels good again...i need her to treat me like one of her plushies so badly. it's actually unfair
Before the affini took over I was into a lot of transformation and petplay content online, so I have about 200 notices of intent to domesticate on me. I’ve had 10 wellness checks over the past 2 months. It’s starting to make me feel like I should just give up even though that stuff about wanting to dog was just fantasy, I didn’t really want to be put on all fours. I guess the affini don’t see it that way. I can tell an affini has looked me up when they perk up after a bit after being in the room with me and start their flirting routine. Youngblooms in particular usually file a notice right after meeting me. I guess they want a Terran and think I’d be easy to handle unlike a former navy soldier. I’m the equivalent of the soft dog breed that kids get, which makes it even more humiliating.
>>72185141But notices of intent are basically so other 'ffini know to back off and leave you to whoever filed the notice. Multiple notices defeats the whole point.
>>72184927>was the floret just a totally normal person before her affini took her in?>maybe she got a bit stressed about work and repressed her desires a bit too much>and the next thing she knows she's become *this*...Aura, that's just made it even better. She used to just be totally normal, easily-stressed, a closet pervert, occasionally pleasuring herself but feeling a bit guilty over it, struggling to enjoy the process for one reason or another. Maybe she was a little embarrassed about being so attached to her girlpenis or something... and then after being taken in, with a little coaxing, it all spills out, just how needy she really is, how she's so repressed, how she's so, so needy to be made so, so much worse... and, well, of course her delightful Affini's going to help her with it! So, of course, she has such a cute new form from her Class-G's, all feminine and precious... except for that *thing* between her legs, almost constantly throbbing and oozing, standing at attention with little more than a hair-trigger, looking visibly red and engorged from how much blood's constantly pumping into it, looking so disgustingly, beautifully virile. It's all she's ever wanted. And it helps so much that all the blood going to her new equipment is going away from her brain, making it harder to think......until she ends up as the pathetic creep she always wanted to be, constantly sex-obsessed, helpless to her own desires - just as socially inept as she used to be, but with that delightfully perverted new flavour she just can't help but love. Seeing people around her as little more than toys to breed like she does her plushies, and being guided oh-so-gently by her Affini into "normalcy"... but failing every single time. It feels so good, seeing the look on people's faces at how icky and creepy she seems, the poor thing so worked up at her own fantasies, ruined by her own lust......god, that's so cute.
>>72178452Why can't my affini knock me up I think I'd make a good knocked up puppy bride
>>72185141>I guess they want a Terran and think I’d be easy to handle unlike a former navy soldierI mean soldiers are easier to domesticate than one might expect. Propaganda notwithstanding they've already been trained to do what their told and not ask questions. It's just a matter of replacing authority figures.
>>72185197Uh do you think I want them filing documents saying they want to own me as a piece of property? I don’t understand affini society
>>72185301That requires taking a firm hand to break them first, and many youngblooms have problems forcing their pets to go to bed on time. They want a cute pet they can spoil and dote. A docile little thing that already wants to be a cute puppy is a better fit, some terrans are so submissive they’ll break after some headpats and scritches.
the language barrier fic linked in the last thread was so adorable aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa xenodrugs that inhibit english is such a diabolically cute concept :')
I like the idea that Terrans are actually just very small compared to most xenos the affini have encountered, it fits in nicely with the stuff about Terrans seemingly being designed to be pets.
>>72185215pathetic creep floret and her class B'd connivent who gets to keep meeting her for the first time
>>72185253No one in this thread is capable of raising a child.
>>72185696nona multiple people already are and/or have
>>72185696the affini's wish in this image is genuine

>>72185941You fool. No amount of extra responsibilities. Whatever they may be. School, employment, lovers, family, children.None of that stops you from being trapped here. We’re here until the website finally dies. Whenever that may be. When I’m on my deathbed. I’m going to tell my family that I always tried to be a big guy (for them). And upon hearing that, they’ll be grateful that I’m finally shuffling off this mortal coil.
what would you do if you came across a floret that stared at brainrotting content all day, browsed tiktok and youtube shorts, had 0 attention span, and was just generally an adhd loser
>>72186444try not to get involvedor get both of us on class-ws so neither of us is trying to talk while we hang out
>>72185642I wanna ride a giant beepleor get smushed under a humongous rinan
>>72185197>Multiple notices defeats the whole point.it's a queue after the first one. they'll be vines off but they're still waiting patiently
>>72184916I can go to the doctor on my own, thank you tghoooou>Trips over pebleDont even say it, grumble. You can come with i guess.
>>72186444TikTok and YouTube shorts?Euthanize.
>>72185513You wouldn't believe how many first blooms want to demolish a feralist but then have no idea what to do once they get their vines on one. They just can't wrap their cores around really hurting a floret, so they don't. When they inevitably fail to achieve much of anything, they naturally gravitate to an older affini for help. Once you provide a little advice they sort themselves out, but by then their florets tend to have gotten attached to yours and it would be cruel to part them. And then you're stuck with an innocent first bloom who hangs on your every word as your pets play together.
Need a fini to force me to call her mistress...for a while still being embarased by it, even if she has me conditioned well engough that i secrety love it...Rewarded with tingly extatic headpats...
>>72185662Adoooorable!! Gosh, I can just imagine how precious that must be, getting to see her connivent's looks of shock and confusion and unexplainable arousal over and over, trying out all kinds of different approaches of "developing her social skills" that actually just manifest as coming onto her connivent in creepier and creepier ways each time, adoring how grossed out she gets from all the attention and yet somehow managing to make her fall in love over and over, butterflies in her stomach as her poor little mind's struggling with the cognitive dissonance of finding someone so unsettling so damn *cute*...>>72185696To be fair, I'm pretty sure a significant contigent of Affini actually think like picrel.>>72186444...invite her to the floret cuddle pile? Like, even if none of us know what a "rizzed-up sigma skibidi goonset" actually is or anything, she can make us giggle with her knowledge of ancient Terran language and stories. Besides, I'm pretty sure most florets struggle with attention span, to be fair...>>72190203It's even cuter when your Affini's kind of embarrassed and all flustered about it, too. Maybe you're one of her first florets, and even though she's managed to condition you so, so well (she's a natural!), she's still so blushy and stammery as she tries her best to maintain a sense of control... and the scary part is, she's *very* good at it, despite looking like an absolute mess as she goes about the process of rewiring your little brain, vines unfurling and trembling from excitement as she gives you such pretty little headpats...
>>72190609Oh man yea thats good... her being genuinely exited yet nervous, the way only a first timer could be... feeling the same embarasingly *right* Feelings as i would, only from the other side of the equation... finding your positions in life, together...
i woke up to go to my lab course at 7am and it doesn't start till next week aghfsjgbkvcl i need to be able to sleep in forever. god i wish i were a floret. the affini let you do that, right. they let you sleep
>>72190609aww... you're very sweet for letting that poor brainrotted flort be your cuddle-buddy, precious. you're a very good floret.
>>72191379thank you miss... (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)

>>72191530very cute
>>72191360I sure hope so because I'm awake at 6:30 for no reason and ideally I'd be able to get like five more hours of sleepperhaps we'd be sleepy bitches together

Maybe you can play more later...
>affini domesticate the Ender Wiggin of the accord that the accord had genetically and socially engineered to be a cold battle genius>in games of strategy he even outperforms affini because there is a cold brutality and lack of hesitation to his actions that affini can’t replicate >they design combat units that don’t kill but seem like they do through a specific VR simulation “game” >Ender floret unknowingly becomes the supreme fleet admiral of the affini domestication armada >the Milky Way is domesticated at record speed

>>72192041What's even better for me is I'm imagining the flort was a strategist so she knows all the feralist tactics and one of them gets brought in to find her mewling softly in her 'finni's lap and the feralist feels so betrayed but by this point the flort's just thinking 'new playmate and scriches'>>72192339Bwekfast...b...beekfost...hold on... If you become immortal could you do a temporary domestication contract? Like let’s say I become an AI and plan to live forever, which I would do at the first opportunity. I wouldn’t mind trying out being a floret but not *forever*. But I doubt an affini would want to let their floret go.
>>72201564>But I doubt an affini would want to let their floret go.That's the trouble, see... Affini are also immortal, and it'll be a job convincing her to give you up.Also, after a thousand years or however long of being a floret, you will be essentially inseparable. Trying to end the relationship would cause you catastrophic - possibly fatal - physical and mental distress.
>>72201637The way I was thinking of it was that the contract would specify that if there were any such issues I would be restored from a previous saved mindstate and to have a clause that prohibited her from trying to alter me in such a way to begin with

Ferralism is litteraly a cult at this point, dont you see that "free terrans"?Im not happy about being ruled by alient plants that treat us as chattel either, but what you guys are doing is insane. Its not easy, but there way out, y'know? Some of them dont even involve enslavement, belive it or not. If you just submit, theres a decent chance you'll be left to be indpendant after some rehabilitation.I belive in you out there, making the right choices for yourself :)
Explain this to me, just reading the first story now.
i'm trying to remember the name of this story if anybody remembers it and can help me out, i really want to find it again. it was about this independent that woke up the morning after getting really high on some xenodrugs, and the affini that gave them the xenodrugs is there when they wake up. there's a lot of gaslighting and convincing the independent that everything is perfectly normal. my memory of it is fuzzy, but i'm pretty sure the affini had sent the terran a gift basket with some xenodrugs that the terran tried, and then when they were high out of their mind the affini got them to sign away their independence. i forget if it was on ao3 or one of the microfics that gets posted in the hdg discord, but i would love you forever if you know the name <3
>>72203667Fresh blood! Always welcome in out little corner of autism, good to have you! Enjoy the read.Explain what, RKMs, or the setting in general?Setting QRD is basicaly in the OPill give it a shot below, but spoilers-ish maybe for stories? The affini are a hyper-advanced race of alien plants who're building an intergalactic empire, turning all other sapient beings they come accross into their pets (florrets). Theyre most definitely supremacists and imperealists, but they are also genuinely doing it for what they see as the "greater good", its just they dont value "freedom" in their value system and think it'd be much better if we were all happy pampered pets. Not all of a species becomes directly owened, in humaitys case "only" 25-40%ish. Idependants are those other 70ish percent. They still have no rights officaly, but are generaly living in a utopia like never before, unless they cant manage to have proper self care, in which case they might get domesitcated. "Free terrans" or "ferralists" are those that actively commit wrongthink or outright rebbel against their rule. Before they conquerd us, humanity was renamed to "terrans" and ruled by the "terran accord", which is basicaly todays corporate capitalism oligary turned up to 13 as a dystopic hellscape. Their technology is so advanced compared to ours, that we quite litteraly never stood a chance. They acchice pettification / "domestication" via normal psycological manipulation plus an array of mindbending drugs which they use all the time in copious ammounts. To put the finializing cherry on top, florrets recive *the implant, which is some of their owners intergates with their CNS, and serves to remotley inject said drugs and also somtimes (depends on story desu) directly interferes with the proccess of free thought, editing inserting or dismissing thoughts as needed.
>>72203667hyper advanced precursor plants come to the galaxy, see terrans suffering and vow to alleviate the concerns of capitalism. Terrans don't really get a say in the matter.
>>72202235That sounds better than being dead dead. My "owner" would probably let me do stuff I enjoy right?
>>72204303I don't think they'd let you do much that you don't enjoy
>>72204097>those last sentencesI think I'll stick around!! All this sounds quite nice
>>72204370one of us!!one of us!!
>>72204351Honestly the affini not digitizing everyone is the thing that makes the setting incoherent. There's no way they wouldn't do this any more than they would allow you to commit suicide or refuse to treat cancer or whatever. Refusing to preserve your mind when they could easily upload it into a new biomechanical chassis is just proof you don't know what's good for you and need someone else to step in, petal. The stuff about florets dying seemed to have been baked in early on to play up the pet element (you're short lived vs your owner) but it's incoherent given affini technology and psychology. The digital affini would care for all the cute little digital xenosophont programs. Most "totally benevolent with maxed out tech tree" settings just devolve into this if you apply a little logic. It's like CelestAI from Friendship Is Optimal. Maybe you don't want to be uploaded to be a pony and have your values satisfied until the heat death of the universe, but guess what you're a fucking retarded monkey. You can't make your own decisions really.
>>72204649I think the Affini aren't stupid enough to think a digital copy of a person's mind is equivalent to the real person.
>>72204649i dont think its that hard to imagine that a "natural" death might be treated diffrently from one caused by illness or self-harm. They allow *themselves* to die sometimes too, afterall.>>72204786Also verry much this.Though i do belive they have multiple methods of digitization, no? The classic "copy & paste", yes. But also a slow shift over, ship of theseus style, right? Idk, ive only heard it not read it myself. But in my view the thesesus style is still you.
>>72204870There is no mechanism by which your consciousness can be extracted from your head and uploaded into a computer. You could almost certainly scan someone's brain and digitally recreate their consciousness exactly by simulating their neurons, but that's a copy. Doing it slowly over time piece by piece would be way worse, because the earlier parts of the scan wouldn't line up with the later parts of the scan, causing errors. The copy would probably end up schizophrenic or some shit. Uploading your consciousness is a cope by billionaires who want to live forever.
>>72204870>>72204786>>72204649This has already been solved. https://philosophy.williams.edu/files/Egan-Learning-to-Be-Me.pdf
>>72205075>>72205112>Doing it slowly over time piece by piece would be way worse, because the earlier parts of the scan wouldn't line up with the later parts of the scan, causing errors. The fuck are you talking about? Yes, the scan copy method is retarded and just makes copys. But if you take a single neuron, replace it with a digial version of it self, and then just let that run, having it interact with the remaining biological brain matter like a "normal" neuron would. Then do another. Then another. We're not making a scan here, we're making a gestalt. At one point, you'd be thinking 50% in your actual head, 50% in the computer. Slowly shifting over.In the same way that all your atoms and cells are already slowly being replaced evry day. Just that you're doing machines as cells instead of biomatter
>>72205075I think it's very fallacious to try to speak to future technology that is so advanced it may as well be magic to us. Affini conquer GALAXIES - plural - carry personal FTL devices for the express purpose of stopping dangerous things, and can literally make stuff from nothing. There's no guarantee their "computer" equivalents use technology even remotely the same as modern PCs. Their computation tech probably makes our most advanced computers look like banging rocks together. So... why not? Why couldn't they have come up with some way to copy a being into a non-biological format? The only possible answer honestly would be that there is something innate that doesn't come with the sophont, but for that to exist in this universe and not be mastered by the Affini (who, may I remind you, always get their way) is not likely. The real answer isn't anything philosophical. It's simply just that having an easily accessible immortality button kills a major source of potential storywriting elements. It's *boring* from a story perspective unless you are specifically exploring immortality. And from a writing perspective, it's easier to relate to having mortal pets because, in the real world, we often far outlive our pets. The knowledge that they will likely die long before we do and that we still put so much effort into them is very easy to reflect onto the relationship of Affini and florets, both as a writer and reader.
>>72205206Are you talking about physical replacing the brain with a computer in chunks, or uploading a consciousness into a computer? I'm assuming the former, because digital neurons in the latter example are inside of a computer, and can't interact with your real neurons. As for the former, I wouldn't trust it to work. We have no idea how consciousness even works, so there's no guarantee that that would preserve it. The worst part about any scenario is that the end result to the outside observer is the same, so nobody would have any way of knowing if you survived or not.
>>72205350>Are you talking about physical replacing the brain with a computer in chunks, or uploading a consciousness into a computer?Im speaking the former, technicaly speaking. However, once you complete the proccess, the result is effectively the same. Once you're 100% switched over, you can just switch the inputs and outputs over to being virtual stuff instead of real stuff.>We have no idea how consciousness even worksThat is true. However, theres is also no reason to assume it wouldnt work, if the entirety of the brains electrochemical processes of the brain are preserved/simulated. There is nothing inherrently magicaly diffrent about us being squishy carbon instead of anything else. There are plenty of mysterys to solve for sure though - like how the culsters of neurons in your gut likely contribute to your conciousness aswell, espechaly when it comes to "gut feelings" and such. But then you just also include those, y'know.Would i sign up for the first trials? Of course not.
Regardless of whether you think consciousness can be preserved in a digital substrate in reality it is established in the HDG setting as a thing that exists. Personally I think it's possible in the real world as well even if it requires a specialized form of computer, but that's irrelevant for evaluating its affect on the setting's internal logic.
It's not possible due to the reason the Egan story fucks me up. A copy of my brain simply isnt me, because it is not in the same place and of the same materials, its not the same atoms, its not the same electricity, its not me, it cant be me. It is a valid pursuit, yes. But its not me.
>>72205828mother fucker you havent been listening at all have youYour own atoms, RIGHT FUCKING NOW, are being changed through. The chance that even a single atom that you were born with remains with you today is near zero.i actualy agree about copy and pasting, like i said. Copys are not you. But thats totaly solvable!if you burn down a ship then build an exact copy, is it the same ship? of course not.But if you have a ship, and replace its boards one by one, is the same ship still? Yes, yes it is. Because there is continuity, at evry point in time you still have a ship.>>72205252In the end angel is right though, the *real* reason to the original question is just "because writing" As much as i do love having muh conciousness and self philosophy shitflinging over and over and over in all kinds of places -Im heading to bed now, so ill stop responding to this shitty argument and shitting up the theadMaybe ill wake up to cute greens about being mistress' pet instead of more arguing, hmm?

>>72205828The material that makes up your body doesn’t remain constant over time. The atoms shift. If you want a real answer it’s that the “self” is at least a bit of an illusion, call it a weak Buddhist view of mind. The idea of a discrete body with a ghost in the machine that persists through time is made up. To the extent that “you” exist it’s as a field of consciousness with sets of memories, perceptions, and so on
>>72206249Hey now, sometimes occasions *he* transitions out of it
The idea of affini making their pets immortal whether they like it or not has its own kink attraction too>You’re never going to escape me, petal. Even if by some miracle you managed to kill yourself I’d revive you within hours. You will belong to me until the stars themselves go out, and we’re working on that. From now until eternity you will sit at my feet and heel when I call.

Its a matter of subjective point of view.If a biological clone of me was made, no different than a late twin. It is not me and I do not see through its POV.If an atomic replica of me was made, I still dont see through its POV.If my mind is uploaded or copied into a robot, the robot copy will remember seeing through my eyes and say, IT WORKED.But I do not see through its POV.Btw I require only the a hyper strict, lovingly harsh and to the letter Affini or Ill keep (pretending) resisting, thank you
>>72204649>The stuff about florets dying seemed to have been baked in early on to play up the pet element (you're short lived vs your owner) but it's incoherent given affini technology and psychology.that's just one of the things writers can make up for their own convenience and youll be exposed to more frequently because the gen is a lot more horny and erotica focused after being deported to trash, dont worry anon florets aging and dying normally is actually a relatively rare stance and makes no sense regardless due to how implants work (with it essentially being a full parasite that completely replaces every part of your body with itself and recreating it in a different form, down to the DNA and everything. hence why it's a la crowning achievement of the godmode race, it's essentially turning on console commands for your body, it's not even necessary for bodymods it just makes it seamless and automatically preinstall your brain into knowing how to use your wings perfectly and everything. its so pervasive that honestly if souls are canon i would not be surprised if those implants wrapped it up too). it's why i seriously doubt they cant do real digitization, they crunched your entire nervous system and used your own body as meat clay to make a bodymod vessel resembling your original form by putting a seed in your neck in 2 days>>72209471HFY tier stuff lol>and that will eventually diegod literally nobody on this gen even reads hdg anymore :/ at least refrain from trying to discuss that stuff in particular if u dont..

I’m finally getting over my affini “friend” turning my into a housecat for beating her at video games. Or at leash learning to deal with it. I still haven’t forgiven her but I’m impressed she hasn’t just forced me to. She has offered to let me voluntarily sign a meaningless domestication contract multiple times and I have refused each offer. I can tell it hurts her more each time through her mind rape rhythm. I’m sure most affini would have drugged me into doing it long ago. I guess don’t even mind walking on all fours at this point despite the humiliation, it’s not like I have to do anything. Being force fed into being a “chonker” and having her squeeze and rub me is another matter. She claims I enjoy it which is bullshit. By far the worst thing was when one of the videos she made of me went viral on the affini overnet in the Milky Way, I even became a meme among affini here.

>>72209948That's all, like, 1000% speculation. People used to think we wouldn't be able to fly, too - that the human body wouldn't be able to withstand it let along the physical capacity for it. I can speculate that I'll be able to seamlessly transfer from body to body, maybe even from biological to digital and back again. It's science fiction.

>>72210144for what it's worth I agree with you. Even if we were somehow able to 'digitize' a person and the digital version will behave the exact same and have all the exact memories, it's still only really a copy of the neurons in your brain. It's not like your brain cells can somehow magically become bits stored in some computer.
Oh are we arguing about cloning and consciousness and ai copies? Let me ask the eternal questionIf you had a tiny clone of Hitler. Would you torture him?
>>72210639Although for HDG I'm willing to just pretend that digitization really does just work. As far as I'm concerned Affini have access to space magic that does whatever's plot convenient.
>>72210682Idk. Why do I even have a tiny clone of hitler in the first place? That just seems like a situation you wanna avoid altogether.
>>72210682I don't think I could torture anyone, even if it was the real Hitler. Maybe some people deserve it, but who am I to make that decision. Who is anyone to make that decision? The burden of choosing to harm someone else sounds unbearable. I'm too weak for that
>>72202235>floretgatchis...I honestly wouldn't mind being this. As long as I were supported, I suppose, with the process of being instantly slammed into the distant future and with everything that entails, that sounds pretty cute. Being a literal beeper. Because my casing is made with the same technology Terrans used in 1997 or something. No more speech or even independent thought, possibly not even enough disk space for consciousness (real or simulated), just a good little beeper to help acclimatise Affini to the process of taking on new florets when they're ready. I don't really know if I'd end up having true "consciousness" by the time I was installed in that device, so I guess I might not be capable of feeling *anything*, let alone "safe" and "calm". But... it'd be nice to know that the Affini looking after me is willing and able to provide that, so if they ever do take on another floret that's not just kinda like training wheels, they'll be able to provide them with the love and support they need. From free Terran to puppy curled up on a cushion by the fireplace and mistress’ chair….at least no one I used to know can see me Good luck to everyone who hasn’t been caught yet
>>72211868>>72210023putting you two in a room together and seeing if there's any recognition between you
>>72211593Like HbFY said, while the fandom as a whole is mostly trans, it's hardly as though straight people aren't allowed to get involved or anything like that. We'd be glad to have you.>>72211782Y'know, not to come across as creepy or groomery or anything like that, but the majority of cis folks aren't actively questioning their gender identity. Might be worth looking into, if only to work out how you feel more comfortable - however that ends up working for you! :)>>72211858Jokes on her, I have several backups, all of whom are trapped in tamagotchis and are arguably no longer sentient due to the sheer amount of data loss involved in porting to that format
>>72211593Hey don't let it discourage you 'nona. You don't need to be trans to be into plant women petplay. Hell when I first started reading I tried finding male human POV fics and was disappointment in how few there were.
>>72208031Holy fuckkk Need
>>72211358Hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaYes
>>72211593Used to think you were trans petal? Want to talk about that
Didnt the poll last month for the people in this thread come out 50/50 trans/not?Though thats due to trash imigrants like me i suppose.
>>72210814>>72210864>>72210962>>72211530Why did you guys actually give real answers to the tiny Hitler question. It’s a reference to this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vcCp2oFiawsI just like to bust it out when arguments about the human consciousness break out. As a way to poke fun. Since you can’t really quantify anything about it. So arguing is pointless.
I mean tbf, I would probably be trans if I weren't already struggling to look even halfway attractive as a male. Transitioning would only make the bar for attractiveness *much* higher, and I'm failing to meet people's standards to begin with.So instead of wanting to kill myself because I keep imagining something I can never have, I just try to ignore it. Which- following this thread isn't making that task easy, but the comfy escapism is worth it.
>>72213915>I would probably be trans if I weren't already struggling to look even halfway attractive as a male.Im not sure thats how that works sweetie.I cant speak for the trans crowd or for what people generaly think about this shit, not realy my cup of tea to delve to deeply into normaly since i have no problems being a guy (and secure enough in that to fantasize about girly shit and tsf storys without pissing my metaphorical pants over it :) )...But that just sounds like ARE or *might* be trans and are repressing it
>>72213915>I would probably be trans if I weren't already struggling to look even halfway attractive as a maleAw petal, don't be so cruel to yourself. Your body's femininity would be helpful then. The fact you've even given this any consideration at all indicates some level of need. Left untreated, it will only worsen and cause more suffering. Little one, you even admit that you're repressing a genuine desire. Those feelings aren't wrong and you shouldn't have to attempt to escape them, nor to live according to the standards of others. I hesitate to call you a good girl because of what you said. Would you like me to?
>>72211782If an older woman said you'd look cuter on estrogen would you fight her pushing the needle into skin and skining the plunger down? Or would you accept it like a good girl?
>>72214103Well. I guess it depends on how you interpret the terminology. I wouldn't call myself trans since I don't ever plan on transitioning. And yes I am repressing it, for lack of a better option.>>72214367I'm not trying to self-depricate, I just look at it as a matter of fact. And I know repressing it probably isn't very healthy but what else can I do? I can't transition because I know for a fact it wouldn't go very well. My ideal body is nowhere near as tall or as broadly-built as the one I currently have, and HRT can't fix either of those. And the only alternative outside that or repression is something I really shouldn't entertain the thought of.You can call me whatever you'd like. I appreciate your concern at the very least. Both of you are kind people for trying to help.
>>72213915I bet you'd look far prettier as a girl than the man you're pretending to be. Repression isn't attractive
>>72214553While hrt can't change how broad you are and kind only do a little to change your height it can still do great things. It'll prevent you from balding and gaining more body hair. Is it not better to strive towards your ideal than banalling accepting what you uave?
>>72213851most people aren't gonna get that nonny
