Done with this one. how is it looking? i think the anatomy is a bit wacky. does the simple background look good? i realized the image had too much empty space pretty late into it, aka 15 minutes agoI thought drawing the pattern on the panties would be hell but it turns out that randoms scribbles look like an intricate design from afar.

the frustration is starting to set in again. almost time for another 3 month drawing hiatus i guess.
I don’t know how to describe this, but what would you call/does anyone have an example of a character running around/doing stuff in the background as a way to show a lot of activity but like in chibi form? Commonly done in anime/manga?
>>72475284>>72473131What i often do is have some other artworks as reference while I'm drawing. I try to figure out what I have to do in order to achieve a similar look. It almost never works out as I imagined it, but I still improve and get a feel for colors and stuff. Also having a basic understanding of color and light helps a ton.
>>72475756no, draw right now
>>72475835Do you mean those low frame-count animations where they're doing different things for a few seconds? I would call those jumpcuts. I don't know what it's called in chibi form.
Here's my next study! I actually don't know if I've finished copying the shading, but I did my best to, and so I'm done with this study and moving on to the next.I usually do things in 50 minute blocks of time, but during those 50 minutes, I tend to get distracted with a sense of missing out or trying to keep threads I like alive. With 25 minute intervals, I feel much more focused on the task, which is far more efficient without forcing myself to be efficient. It's a fresh breath of air!I didn't like how I did the eyes, so I tried my hand at just the face, but I made it too narrow, so I widened it. It's still a bit too narrow, but it looks better.Tell me what you think! Also, here's the source because it's too good not to show. Also, tell me if you want the source from now on when I post a finished master study!https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FoatGL7aEAEFEvF?format=jpg&name=4096x4096

There's an untapped market for art therapists.
>>72478847>Is the fat under the socks getting compressedThat'd probably be correct, judging by how the fat on my legs behaves. If I've been wearing tight socks all day, they leave the squished shape behind when I take them off before bed.

This is going to sound obvious to some of you, but I think it's worth mentioning here. When you're having problems with a sketch, get new references, study those, and incorporate both the studies and references into the sketch.

https://files.catbox.moe/icb2xe.pngCan i get a critique on this? mainly the foreshortening in the first panel and the general anatomy in each version of panel 2. cubs are hard, they are so stubby and took some effort not to make them look like shrunken adults.>>72481878id say it's around 20-30 total that post at least bimonthly, although for example my style is so inconsistent i might get counted twice or trice, even more so some people.>>72480475Looks great! the color palette is solid and it communicates the warmth of the scene very well. the forms are clear even without rigid lines setting them apart>>72478847That is a thick dog, id say the squish is a bit exaggerated, it would have to be really tight to go past an inch (in pic related the garter belt is tight but only digs in a little), but who cares about realism, it's hot.>>72475284it's probably the most shilled channel here but the lines sensei video on post procession really helped me. nice kenny btw, listening to the bunny song at this very moment.>>72473131killer rendering as usual, do you have a layer for each effect?
>>72486815Cuteness comes from simplicity. When anon said this>The arms/hands are a bit too prominent, not really an artist so I can't like guide how it SHOULD look but I know that that area is what's causing a disconnect in my head.he noticed that the hands and sleeves were too detailed, plus the outlines on them are thicker than the ones on the face. Just simplify the shapes and tone it down a bit.
>>72487018Simplify the hoodie and cock too.
>>72482563and it looks good, better than what I can do
>>72483295>I did a second pass on her with the recommendations anon gave. If you're still in thread you were 100% right. Adding some fuzz, making her torso longer, and giving her shorter cow-legs helped a lot. I really like how she looks now.Happy to be of help. I might also suggest toning the tits down a tad, since Highlands don't usually seem to have particularly large udders. Makes sense, since they're primarily reared for beef and don't have as much fat as other breeds on account of the shaggy coats acting as insulation and the fact they usually subsist on poorer pastures less hardy breeds wouldn't survive.Of course, you could always justify it by having her be an exceptionally bountiful individual. Or maybe by having other breeds somewhere in her bloodline.Been thinking about making a bovine character myself lately, which is why I've been reading up on various breeds. I want something a bit more unconventional, so I'm currently torn between Ankole-Watusi for their massive horns and Kankrej for the exotic zebuine look.
having trouble trying to draw the lower leg
Which breast positioning looks best to you, the top left or the top right? Also, do you think these shades of flat colors look fine? I feel like I either make stuff sickly over saturated or painfully desaturated and dull. Feels hard to hit that “just right” happy medium.
Any tips for drawing ellipses? I just started learning to draw (for real this time, I swear) and decided to practice my understanding of forms on my air humidifier. But I can't draw the ellipses that I want for the life of me.
>>72481878I've lurked here on and off for a few years, only started consistently drawing about half a year ago
every time i post here everyone ignores my post my art must be really bad
>>72490370a lot of times the only real feedback for someone is to just keep drawing and it gets repetitive posting that over and over again
>>72486984>do you have a layer for each effect?I use a multiply layer to get the rough shape of the shadows down. After that I just manually paint ontop of the lineart, manually colorpicking. I start out segregating different effects into multiple layers, but as I go I merge most of them at some point. I use an overlay layer at the very end to darken or highlight some parts even more.
>>72481878I lurk a lot, but I have to kick myself pretty hard to draw right now because of a yearlong funk.
>>72490370Don’t get too beat up over it, this is 4chan at the end of the day don’t expect too much. Plenty of anons get overlooked in these threads, treat the place more like a hang out group to socialize and I think you’ll like this general a lot more. There are much better places to get substantial advice for art.
>>72490370kek. that tends to happen to me, too.I'm okay with it, especially since my art doesn't appeal to most, anyways! Having the confidence to post your piece is already quite a lot and you should keep doing it. Perhaps after some time, you should reply to yourself. That's what I did once, and I may do it again.
>>72487848draw a lot of them; pages of them, hundreds if not thousands (not all at once). also do them quickly, don't be a perfectionist because they'll kick you for trying

>>72491703do you have any recommendations that aren’t on 4chan. i feel like the message board format 4chan has leads to clique-y communities which is why some of us get ghosted, i give up here
I think if you ask for specific things for advice and improvement, you're more likely to get responses here. If you're just throwing up your art then people may simply gloss over it if there's not something remarkable about it, and unfortunately for most of us our work usually isn't remarkable. But every time I've tried actually asking for critique here and things to work on, I've gotten responses.
>>72494069idk how it wouldn't happen in places where you can identify someone before they even post work, but I've not really browsed outside of 4chan. >>72494553 is pretty correct from my experience and what makes sense even if it's shit: if you're art is really good, people will praise you to keep going, if you're art is really shit, people (more likely, not as guaranteed) will tell you, you might even get some critique as people may feel they are capable. if it's falls under neither, then you get neither group of people; best case is maybe just them saying it's shit, which maybe is salvageable by asking them to clarify, but there's no guaranteed response.
>>72494553ive seen plenty of people ask for specific stuff only to get ghosted
>>72494069Personally the main place I seek help from is the “arthelp” subreddit, it’s genuinely extremely helpful and everyone is nice. Completely different, friendlier kind of culture that will actually break things down for you. Blew my mind when someone straight up drew out a detailed reference breaking down how I got some angling of hands and some posing wrong. It’s not even a furry subreddit, yet there are tons of people who are willing to provide genuine substantive help to even the newest shittiest artists who can barely even draw a stick figure. I promise you that you won’t regret it, if it weren’t for that place I’d probably given up out of a lack of confidence by now! Cant recommend enough.

>>72497313*Monet than Da Vinci. One painted alot, other one was perfectionist.
>>72487848
>>72483295I'm liking her a lot. Kind of agree with the other anon about toning down her boobs; maybe this could be a fun oppor-moo-nity to experiment with non-standard breast shapes? That's always fun. Also, it might be time to brush up on your hoof shapes! Those are important.I REALLY like her tail though. The tuft stylization is really strong there. Fantastic stuff. And amazing hips too. Love highland cows.
>>72497551No, I get that, I can rotate shapes in my head. My issue is the execution. But I suppose that that's just practice.
Drawing something that isnt pokemon butt Any Crit?
>>72497847It looks really good anon. The textured brush on the closest tree really sells the roughness of it, while the textured in the background trees is a good compromise on representing the branches. The main criticism I have is that you still have a lot of room on the value scale in either direction, and unless your goal is to represent a gray drearyness, you could use the further reaches of value to increase the contrast between foreground and background.
>>72495887Decided to look at it out of curiosity; they don't seem to take well to fetish stuff and the lack of an NSFW tag on the subreddit probably means you can't get away with sexual stuff on top of that.Pic related was about the most I could find that treaded that line.
>>72499314Try Furryartschool
>>72499314If you want to post weird furry fetish stuff go to furryartschool, it won’t get banned in arthelp but people just naturally don’t do fetish stuff there. Remember it’s Reddit not /trash/ don’t expect hardcore stuff there on a common everyday basis.I’ve posted suggestive furry hmofa themed art in the arthelp sub there and gotten 500+ upvotes before I deleted the post. Furry art school in my experience will generally be very helpful, but there’s for some reason a lot of people who don’t actually draw who lurk the sub to leave generic positive commons like “looks fine to me! :)” which is genuinely nice but I need real advice man.Just try to post there anon, I promise you won’t regret it. You will get much more attention and advice there vs here
>90% finished with an image>realize it’s actually not coming out at all how i imagined the worst part about deleting stuff is all the time you realize you wasted

>>72487620>>72497691I can tone down the tits a bit, but I did want to introduce a personality point that she's insecure about her size - being much taller/heavier than others around her.I also wanted her to be milky, which could play into these insecurities as that's not really a thing for highland cows.what do you think?
>>72502052the wife
It's always fun to give these horny gals a nice glazing. Yoshi's roundness makes for fun hard lighting practice but I dread trying to take it to more complex designs. I'm indecisive on the cum though as this current one looks nice and thick but when I take away the lighting and leave just the outlines it almost looks more fluid and goopy. I'm not really sure what else I could do with something like this other than just finding improvements as I go. Anyway, enjoy.>>72497847I'm useless at critique but coming from poke asses I think this looks very good. You have a great eye for detail with your brushes and painting style and this definitely has the vibe of a dead quiet snow covered forest. Nice work on the monochrome scheme too.>>72502052You obviously have a strong desire for making good looking hogs and I'm here for it. I think the framing with your tools adds a nice touch to it. Very cute.
>>72503302Cum without lighting. White and thick is yummy but something about this has its own unique feel that makes it hard to pick between them and it annoys me.
>>72497847It looks good, but personally I'd cut that branch closest to the ground off for a different, more open aesthetic.
>Okay guys, I’m REALLY going ALL IN on this one.
Warm up/study boar.
I feel like I draw really slow, any advice on how to draw quickly?
I have a new reason to love drawing in pen! I hate erasing! I end up crumpling the paper when I do it! I wish I didn't have to erase, just draw a sketch, scan, print a light copy, draw over it, scan it with contrast, etc! Erasing fucking sucks!>>72507792My first piece of advice is that you should time yourself to see how long it actually takes you to draw. Understanding is the first key.
Any advice to finish pieces?I always end up tired and then start a new one.
>>72500797>what do you think? Not a bad idea. Go for it.
>>72508065From my experience, I'd say it's best to keep going with minimal breaks in between until the piece is done. The longer you wait to get back to a piece, the more you forget what it was that you were supposed to be doing with it, which in turn makes it harder to get back into, which in turn makes you even more likely to give up and start a new piece.
