its less that they do shit eyes and more that AI still cant really utilize pixels as well as an actual artist can. if you do do a close-up face shot you get good looking eyes, when its a head taking up a small area thats like 300x300 eyes come out pretty mangled. i've been cheating lately by genning blown up faces in images, i2iing them, then pasting them back in and getting rid of seam with soft eraser to get more detailed faces.

Your denoise value is too high. Adetailer essentially uses the 'only masked' mode of inpainting, which crops the inpaint section of the image out for an img2img pass before it pastes it back in. If the denoise is too high, the model won't realize that it's actually img2img'ing a face, and will thus try to recreate the prompt inside the masked zone it created.

Just remember that adetailer is only an automated detector+inpainter, and so anything it does can be done manually.

So I tried training on ILLU1.0 and the my Noob 0.6 vpred LoRA's seemed to be more accurate, even when genning directly on Personalmerge/ILLU. Might have to do some more testing, but at the moment it looks like Noob0.6VPRED as a base gives the best outputs.
I might put more effort into testing this weekend.

There's a model on civit specifically designed to be trained on so noob vpred doesn't shit the bed. Haven't tested it yet but it sounded legit. I've trained a couple of vpred loras now and imo it's pretty difficult to avoid issues. Ofc you toggle vpred and zsnr but on my last loras I had whiteout issues for example.

This is why I didn't want to switch from training on PXL. At least I knew for sure what model to train on. Noob0.6VPRED might be the play just because of how rushed/baked v1.0 was alleged to be in a rush to get to the market user-wise and ILLU, while great on its own, might be more rigid against learning in comparison to Noob0.6. This is all conjecture, of course. I have no idea why this is all the case, but they're all based on XL, so a halfbaked XL model probably has more room for dramatic swings learning than the finished product used to make merges.
Like NAI leaks were great for training because it hat a lot of room for growth. Maybe.

I had to turn off ZSNR for Noob0.6VPRED to even train on my script UI. I imagine it's partially just the decrepit nature of my program (distribution hasn't been updated since early 2024.) If you can find the model you're referring to, that might be good for us to reference.
Without ZSNR it worked fine, but with it on it was dogwater.

Yea zsnr is weird with noob vpred. Ironically it *can* look better without it, but for the wrong reasons. Basically it 'transforms it into an eps' model at that point, or rather you lose most of the benefits off of vpred. I ran into the same issue before when I tested some settings in kohya. I'll try to finish my lora guide this weekend as well.
That being said, I'm fairly confident noob vpred 1.0 is the best version of that model. If you just wanna train I'd recommend noob eps 1.1. It's just really good compatibility wise. BTW not sure what frontend you are using but kohyaSS is quite literally a little bugged for vpred atm, I have a fix for that now at least. Dunno how onetrainer is these days.

kohya.ss hasn't worked for me since 1.5, constant crashes. easy scripts werks (at least for dumb dumbs like me) and is a lot easier, plus each setting can be hovered over to explain what it does which is neat

Prompts are weird sometimes. I tried genning Mineru missionary last night with my usual tags and couldn't get anything resembling her because it kept insisting on giving her countershading and filling the background with random gremlins. Then I tried your prompt today - again, with my own artist mix and negs - and now I'm suddenly having no trouble getting her consistently. Converting what he's talking about to using Epsilon, it looks like it's really just as easy as deselecting VPRED for training on Epsilon Noob1.1 for Easy UI.
It at least seemed to make one of the LoRA's I tested look more closely on-model, but I'll have to do more testing.
