/bzzt/ - Bugs & Insects GeneralNew Year, Same Bugs EditionPost bugs and arthropods of all varieties.Previous thread:https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/80190363Stories/Media/Artists:https://rentry.org/bugsandinsects
Since someone asked for another one, here it is, was going to link in the previous thread but I guess this thread bumped the other one off
Thread Question: What do you think of the stereotypes for different bugs, such as moths being obsessed with light, or what do you think they would think of them?
bump on short notice
>>80364326Moths being obsessed with lights is a harmful stereotype. They use natural light to orient themselves upright using an involuntary dorsal response. The advent of artificial lights stimulates this far beyond its natural range and they end up spinning uncontrollably around and round in circles until they crash into something or touch the hot surface and die
>>80366167Wonder if anthros moths would have similar issues, obviously they probably wouldn't be affected as severely (or at least would have developed something to mitigate that effect) but they might still have some sort of problem
>>80364326>"That's racist, Anon!"
>>80364326>"What did you just say about ants?"

the existence of moths means that butterflies should be called fathsthumbs up if you agree
>>80388936If a moth and butterfly love each very much what do they make
>>80389053Given the two would be separate species, either not much or some wholly new hybrid that should probably be called a pare or chil
