I watched Urawa Reds vs Hiroshima at the Saitama Stadium. I bought an Urawa shirt. I'm a /lifelong/ now.

It was a must-win game for Hiroshima who were 2nd place and they were so unlucky. hit the post 3 times, the bar once and had a goal saved over the line. Urawa won 3-0 even though they were massacred lmao. The fans were extremely smug after the match.
Kobe should thank Urawa. They will probably be champions now

I was in London earlier on in the year and while I was waiting in the hotel there was so many fucking chinks. They were all being noisy as fuck and one was a family with like 4 kids who were being obnoxious as fuck.
Crazy thing is, the mother of the kids was looked like she just didn't even give a fuck about anything. She was just laid across 3 chairs on her phone constantly while the father (who looked about 3x her age) was talking fast and aggressively at her but she just didn't even acknowledge him or anything that was going on.

God I hate Chinese tourists. Literally the loudest, rudest and filthiest tourists ever. They spit so fucking much it's unreal. Literally everywhere even when they get told to stop that shit. It's just automatic for them to spit.

I'm going to the north of Japan next year in late spring. Aomori and Sapporo are already set destinations. Do you have any recommendations for must-sees or must-dos around there? Also general recommendations (food, entertainment, shopping, etc.) are most welcome.

Back in Tokyo now, I'm on limited data and my sendai hotel wifi sucked dick.

Cat island was a success, I saw many cats. One of the ferries is under repair so there was a limited schedule meaning the only return from Tashirojima was at 12:45, giving me only about 2.5 hours on the island. It's a fairly small island but I only walked around the southeast to central area. Nice relaxing half day.
>>
>>2732128

I mean, that's literally what it is. An island with a ton of cats. It was worth it to me because that's what I wanted, to see the cat island.

There are definitely a lot of cats and a good number of them are pretty friendly. The locals are also friendly and taken care of the cats as much as they can.

Mostly it was just a nice peaceful half day on a quiet island where mostly other Japanese people were visiting. And surrounded by a shitload of cats. I liked it. Would I go again? Maybe not, it was somewhat of a pilgrimage for me so I've checked the box. But glad I went. I will do more things like this.
I'm trying to post more photos but they're literally almost all over the size limit. Not sure what I can do. Here's a cat curry I ate while waiting for cat feeding time at 12pm.

how the fuck do you make japanese friends and or get a japanese girlfriend
I've been here little over a month and I love it but it's occurred to me that I haven't had to make new friends in over a decade, let alone dealing with the language barrier
shooting the shit with cooworkers is one thing but like actual new friends I have no idea how to do this it's been so long and my friend group has known each other for like 15 years

I'm taking japanese classes for it but it's still probably gonna take several months at least until my ability is good enough for basic conversations

I'm also not really one for going to bars or clubbing so like I was thinking maybe hobby groups or something? hiking group? would probably need better japanese for that though so maybe I should just wait until my conversational ability improves?
or are there english friendly groups? also trying to avoid gaijin hunters and people looking for a free english teacher so I imagine I don't have many options except keep grinding out the language until I'm decent enough at it

any tips in not apparently being a social retard, /trv/?

I'm planning a day trip from Tokyo to either Koriyama or Fukushima and I was wondering if anyone would recommend one city over the other, etc?

The recommended place in Fukushima is Iwaki City. You can enjoy hot springs and the sea. The "Hawaiian Center" and "Ammonite Center" are also recommended. If you prepare in advance, you may be able to visit the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. However, since it is a tour of a nuclear facility, prior identification is strictly required.

Shinkansen is more expensive but you can get from central Tokyo to central Fukushima in about an hour and a half whereas it's going to take about two and a half hours to get to anything worthwhile in Nikko and some more walking after that.
If you only have a day like he says that's half of it gone travelling and not only that but the shinkansen runs until about 8-9pm so you can leave late if need be.

How does dating a Japanese woman actually work? I've had some success on the apps but now that I think about it, I feel like it's not even worth pursuing beyond the idea of sex. You have a cultural barrier, a language barrier, their family will always think WTF why are you dating a foreigner? And it'll be awkward. Also, if you date a girl who is older, I feel like she's just desperate to get with anyone, even foreigners who dont have anything in common with them.

Basically having seconds thoughts lol

Going to stay a night at Kawaguchiko and then go back to Tokyo the next day, but I'm unsure if I should book bus or train because of my luggage, mostly because of conflicting posts I see. I'm taking a large suitcase (which does not qualify for oversized on shinkansen) and a smaller carry-on suitcase.
Can I take both suitcases on any of the bus/train options?
If not, is luggage forwarding or coin locker recommended for my large suitcase?

>Can I take both suitcases on any of the bus/train options?
Yes, but it will be a hassle both for you and other passengers
>If not, is luggage forwarding or coin locker recommended for my large suitcase?
Personally I'd forward it. Extremely painless and the hotel/store staff can assist you with that
Coin lockers are a gamble both with availability and/or they may have limits on how long you can store luggage there

Im going to travel in Japan for one month with my wife and child. I want to do a road trip of almost the whole country. I notice a lot of routes and trips I have researched are mostly contained to individual regions. For the sake of clarify, at the most extreme end, do you think it's possible to drive from (and experience each) Kyushu to Hokkaido?
>>
>>2732546
>do you think it's possible to drive from
Yes
>(and experience each) Kyushu to Hokkaido?
Depends on what you mean by experience
>>
>>2732550
Meaningfully see and experience the things to do in each region, with room for the big and obvious, and room for exploration. 7 days in Hokkaido for example, road tripping, that might not be enough.

It's possible to drive but you will experience little of the country if you do so. You would be better off spending several days or a week in various locations, hiring a car and driving around the area, then taking public transport to your next location. Not to mention the rental car price is much, much higher if you return it at a different location to where you hired it, there could be unforseen delays due to weather, natural disasters etc.

Driving is overall a better way to see the country because it lets you get out of the tourist tunnel of Tokyo-Hiroshima, but it's important to remember that there is an infinate amount of country to explore and only so much time.
>>
I realize that when I get too excited at planning things, I overlook the bigger picture, and that is map reading
The map on jp guides makes it look like all the places are so close together
I wanted to go to oze park today from Fukushima, but I realized that it’s not just a bit far, but these cool parks like this and bandai for example, are best to access via car, since walking up is more than 4+ hours, and there is only so much time during the day
I guess today, I’ll take the Ou line, stop at toga station and explore the roads there, since maps said there are various trails leading to a mountain, so I’ll try that today and maybe something cool will happen
>>
>>2732538
I did pretty much the same thing yesterday:
>send luggage from hotel in Tokyo to hotel in Kyoto
>stay a night in Kawaguchiko with a backpack
>travel to Kyoto the next day
>luggage handed to me at check in before I can even tell them I had something sent
very convenient for the round trip and yes the hotel staff will help you

A month for all that for Hokkaido + Honshu + Kyushu (and Shikoku?) would be a tight fit. Maybe consider splitting it to further trips in the future or skipping one or two prefectures
Though "meaningful" is up to the intrepeter. I like to take it slow, you may enjoy running around
For example, in Europe Japan reaches from Mediterranian Spain at the borded of Portugal to both the German-Dutch and the German-Czech borders. Compared to the US, Japan fits over the eastern states from Alabama to Maine

I visited Japan a couple weeks ago. Is it normal for Japanese women to ask for pictures or is it a scam? They kept asking if they can speak English with me and they never elaborated why they wanted a picture with me. My first night in Japan, three girls approached me. Then it kept happening afterwards. I thought Japanese women were shy?

Is this normal? They were around my age, one of the girls told me she was 19 in Japanese. Or is this some kind of scam/trick?

Aside from that, I have never been happier! I visited a military base and made my pilgrimage to Oarai!

Kimono is a general term for traditional Japanese clothing, and in some cases anything can be called a kimono.
The second from the left in the picture is a yukata, and to the right is a tomesode. Tomesode is everyday wear. A yukata is like a bathrobe, and is worn mainly in the summer, at hot springs, and after a bath. Yukata is fine to wear for walks, but not on formal occasions.
The rightmost one is called a furisode, and is worn at festivals. Furisode can be worn for formal occasions as well. The leftmost one is a combination of nishaku-sode and hakama, which can also be worn for formal occasions.
In addition, a haori can sometimes be worn as an outer garment. This is equivalent to a jacket.
For men, the relationship between a yukata and a nagagi is the same as that between a women's yukata and tomesode. However, there is no equivalent to a furisode. For formal occasions, a nagagi, hakama, and haori are worn. Haori with the family crest on them are even more formal.

I absolutely must go back to lake shikotsu again, couldn't suggest that more highly. May be cold for a swim, but is the nicest water ever and totally worth it.
Lake kussharo has a little peninsula with a free onsen right at the lake, pretty awesome.
I personally rented a car and slept in it (folding down back seats to make a 'bed area'), for more freedom of travel and a nice cost saving. with paid showers at camping places it was easy. Drove all the way over to shiretoko peninsula and back to sapporo, still cost barely anything, equivalent of like $400 americano for 8 days of a car, petrol and (no need for) accommodation.
I would say you'd be crazy not to rent a car if you have any plans to head decently east on Hokkaido. But if sticking along the line of Aomori, up through hakodate and areas only near sapporo, then yeah public transport should be fine

Anyone got some favourite recommendations for winter stuff, specifically mid Jan to mid Feb?
I have lived in Japan for a year recently, so not asking for a full spoonfeed. But anons here often have some hidden gems and things you may not find easy, so I find it a good place to come ask and chat.

Open to suggestions of pretty much all kinds. I am an absolute weeb (cosplayed at AnimeJapan this year), like cultural stuff such as temples, old villages etc and also love nature (hiked Fuji last September).
No suggestions of Sapporo snow festival, Nagano area or skiing though please. Reasons being, too expensive when booked this late and been to hokkaido, been already and not interested, respectively.
>>

Adding this on separately to leave that first one as a short post more people will actually read.
Then anyone more keen to help me has more info here.

For current plans I have:
- Blue Archive 4th anniversary event for mid Jan
- Wonfes for early Feb,
- Nikko for just after Wonfes. early-mid Feb
I am also hoping to get on the sunrise express at some point for Tokyo-Izumo. But that sounds like an ass pain and a half to actually get tickets, if anyone has experience with this id love advice.

Random thoughts/ideas below:
- Hiked Mt Fuji last year, kinda wanna go up on it and chill at 5th station or just above, is it possible to get there easy around Jan-Feb?
- How is Fukuoka around then? Sorta feels like a place I'd visit in warmer weather, not sure why I feel that though.
Flights are insanely cheap down there, then I figure id slowly make my way back up towards Tokyo via whatever trains/buses are cheap.

I have quite a few 'generic' things i wanna do in Japan still, but none are very winter-y and im wanting to have some more things that are.

i always thought it was like $1000-$1500 but im looking around and seeing it could be a lot cheaper allegedly
>>
>>2733002
air canada is the cheapest and costs 850-1000
https://www.google.com/travel/flights/s/xgh8ZTBnFuiy76yj6
>>
Im going to have about $2800 to work with in japan. Is that a decent amount?
>>
>>2733013
if you spent $80 a day you would get 5 weeks
hotels $40
$5 breakfast
$10 lunch
$20 dinner
$5 drinks/transport/misc
>>
>>2733015
its for 2 weeks

>>

then thats plently and would be 200 dollars a day or 30000 yen a day
you could go to expensive restaurant like every day
>>
>>2733013
Rough estimates I always see are around $1k usd per week so $2800 for 2 weeks sounds perfectly doable.

If you're gonna use a translator then think and talk like you're a 5 year old when using it.
Don't put in "excuse me no transaction occured i an here to pay in cash". Literally just type in something like "card was declined".

As for otaku events in January and February, the only one I can think of is COMITIA on February 16th.
The earliest you can go to the 5th station of Mt. Fuji is the end of April. The road is closed just before the 5th station. (For example, it is closed here (35.3303,138.8032).)
In January or February, it might be a good idea to experience the crazy snow in Niigata or Toyama. However, if it really snows, you won't be able to go anywhere.
If you watch the anime "Laid-back Camp," you might remember that winter is the season for this anime. The campsite where the characters almost froze to death (35.4236, 138.8953) is a joke, but how about the bun shop in front of the station (35.3616, 138.4524) or the hot spring with a campsite nearby (35.7062, 138.6521)?

Fukuoka. To be fair there were not a lot of foreigners where I was today, except at the park and two temples. Everywhere else it was japanese only, with some chinks and gooks here and there. I always got some stares during my previous trips, but having stares plus comments is a first. If it's the same tomorrow I'll stare them back with a big smile on my face.

If you are talking about stores like 2nd Street, Flamingo, or areas like Shimokita, then "thrift" stores here aren't the Ross or Goodwill kind. They are for people in fashion if you can call it that. You won't actually find anything dirt cheap. In a lot of cases you'll even find very expensive stuff because they're "vintage".
>the majority were priced at retail
These stores also mix in actual brand new items in the mix, so watch out for that.

If you want something actually cheap but may still have something worth picking up, go to recycle shops. These will have リサイクル written outside and large signs saying they have stuff for 100 yen.

The Keihanshin area, like Tokyo, is well served by public transportation, so you can get anywhere quickly.
It takes only 40 minutes from Osaka to Kyoto and 50 minutes to Nara by train, so there is no need to stay overnight in Kyoto.
Besides, nightlife is much more enjoyable in Osaka than in Kyoto.

Traveling to Japan next week, and I have something of a cringe question as a non-speaker

How much should I speak English in a "katakana" way? Like, I know about obvious gairaigo words like "toire" and "biru".

E.g., I'm from Dallas. Is it weird to say "Watashi wa Darasu ni sunde imasu" or should I change pronunciation and just say "Watashi wa Dallas ni sunde imasu"?
>>
>>2733428
>How much should I speak English in a "katakana" way?
Yes
>Is it weird to say "Watashi wa Darasu ni sunde imasu"
It would be preferrable
>or should I change pronunciation and just say "Watashi wa Dallas ni sunde imasu"?
They may be able to interpret Finland as Finrando, Germany as Doitsu or England as Igirisu but I doubt the average Japanese knows Dallas, Texas, USA. At least nobody commented my Stars cap, but I forgot my reservist patch on my jacket and they asked if it was a sports team logo
Honestly I'd just probably say Texas
>>
>>2733428
Basically anywhere with any language if you're only at a tourist level of fluency your best bet is to make it very clear what proper nouns you're using.

Don't try and say "Darasu" because for all you know you're saying something weird like "I'm from polishing" and they'll think you're Polish.

Not like it would be a big deal but you can see how it could turn into a problem if you're trying to say something more important.

If you are staying in Kyoto, it is a good idea to visit temples with free admission very early in the morning, when there are few people and it is quiet.
In the daytime, you may wish to visit Ohara in the suburbs of Kyoto. The best time to see the autumn leaves is in late November.

booked a day tour on klook to amanohashidate from osaka. kinda wanted to go out and see it but i wasn't going to stay overnight so either i have to piss around sorting things myself or take a day tour. turns out the day tour now has a 30% discount from when i was looking into options a couple of months ago which makes it cheaper with tickets included than just sorting out getting there and back myself, so basically a no-brainer now
also its multilingual with chinese so i guess im getting chinked all day

You're kinda shit outta luck there, Ikebukuro is almost always packed; the observatory deck for Sunshine 60 is usually quiet and there's a little cafe for food and drink up there, but you have to shell out 700 yen (on a weekday) to use it.
Why not try Nerima instead? It's close to Ikebukuro and there's a lot of nice little cafes around.

Last day in Fukuoka tomorrow, but I'm going to Kumamoto. I hope I'll prefer this city, Fukuoka is okayish, but you need a car for nearly everything, and the subway is overpriced.
The sumo tournament was neat, though, as well as the giant Buddha in Tochoji.

I paid 2200 for Tokyo - > Kyoto. Same price returning. What are you on about? The price depends on the size of your luggage: did the staff mismeasure? Also in my 2 weeks here so far I've never seen gaijin tax but maybe that because I do not enter the fucking next izekaya joint on every temple. i only stayed for one full day but Chubu Electric Mirai Tower was cool, and Ogaki, this town just a little northwest of Nagoya, has a little castle built for Oda Nobunaga i believe. It wasnt open went i went there and i didnt even know it was there, i just went for all the public natural spring fountains. Probably better to do in warm weather, but the little canals and streams they have going through the town are so clean and cold, even in 100 degrees.

There are certainly a very small number of women who like gaijin. And they go to bars where gaijin are likely to congregate and look for men of their liking. Some of them like white people and some like black people.
But most of them are in their 30s and 40s, and it is not unusual for them to be in their 50s.But even so, there are far more gaijin men who want to have sex with the woman, so the women are in a position to choose the men.
Therefore, your chances of getting the women are very low.

Ended up eating a good meal and chatting with the owner, walked a bit to see the surroundings, visited the art museum where I learned quite some stuff about bamboo crafting, and ended up in a cafe when I also chatted a little with the owner. There were also two regulars there who were discussing about their life and coffee, and were quite astonished when I ended up talking about what kind of coffee I had and if I could buy it. Didn't do much today but I talked far more than these last few days, and that's what I wanted. Now I don't have any voice left because of my fucking japanese cold, so I'm back in my hotel to rest. To be fair, I think it's fair to say foreign guys aren't their preference.
Something like 80% of Japan's population have never left the country and an absolutely miniscule number of young men and women go abroad to study or do working holidays. Of that small crop, those girls are likely open to dating foreign people, so that hardly speaks for the majority.
And in Japan, obviously being able to speak like a human being with your partner would be an important factor in choosing one, a foreign guy may be hotter but they're likely to have either nonexistent or shitty Japanese, which lips the gender roles and makes the man the dependent in most situations as opposed to the opposite case (the man provides) which is the norm in Japan. A man needs his Japanese wife to get his spousal visa, help him navigate life, etc. and in return he'll be bringing in a meagre ALT salary in most cases. All this is to say, even though Japanese girls prefer the look and disposition of foreign men in principle, nothing is going to change substantially.

Incidentally did anyone hear about that huge deposit of rare minerals they found recently? Japan's economy is probably going to be in a good state for the next decade thanks to that. Which means even less incentive for the average person to try and learn English and/or interact with the world at large if Japan will be prosperous again.
>>
>>2734641
yes goy these rare minerals will trickle down any minute now. two more weeks
>>
>>2734641
>deposit of rare minerals they found recently
They did? They were only talking about that piece of shit Saito, yami baito and the chink who killed kids again this morning.
Good for them of that's the case, the country isn't in a really good shape currently. Also, almost nobody's learning english for fun, countries make their citizens learn it because it's an obligation for trade, since most english language people usually won't bother to learn another language, kind of like chinks actually.
As for japanese, a part of them talk chinese and/or korean, which is pretty normal since they're their direct neighbours. As for english, some of them make an effort, some don't, but except for those working in trade or directly with tourists, why would they learn it?
>>
Japanese is a very difficult language. It\s actually the hardest language to learn, along with Chinese and 2 others.

Spent a short day checking out the Mozu Tombs just south of Osaka. About 5 hours or so starting at the city hall observatory, walking around the residential areas going past many of the tombs, and a quick look into the museum and visitor centre. It's a shame there isn't really anywhere to go to get a good view of the keyhole shapes. Maybe I can get a view on my flight out in a few weeks (to Hong Kong) if it takes off north and doesn't turn west too fast as I have the window seat for it. +1 heritage site, so 2 in 2 days (Koyasan yesterday)

Will go to Himeji when the foliage is better there, and I also found out today that there is another heritage site not far from Osaka that I was not previously aware of, "Buddhist Monuments in the Hōryū-ji Area", so I will make sure to fit that in over the next few weeks

I get what you mean. Once you kinda understand desu ka, o, ga and wa things seem to become easier. The problem is learning all the words. For me, I can't read flash cards. It doesn't sink in. But if I use an actual word with someone, it sinks in. Like today I ordered drinks and I used the word "nomimono" and it stuck straight away.

Only issue is that being a tourist or a remote worker, you don't get to listen to Japanese people 24/7. It's only on occasion when you go shopping or for food.

It is a well-known story among Japanese martial arts enthusiasts that famous fighters from overseas often ask Japanese promoters to prepare women for them when they sign a contract.
If the promoter believes that the fighter is sure to draw a crowd, he will accept the condition. The promoters then negotiate with groupies, gaijin hunters, and prostitutes, and send them to the fighters as sex partners.
This is also a way of preventing fighters from committing rapes in Japan.

I recommend visiting a Dom Dom in Japan if you want to eat exotic hamburgers that make McDonald's seasonal hamburgers look tame in comparison.

Dom Dom is a Japanese fast food restaurant chain operated by Dom Dom Food Service, Inc. Dom Dom was the first hamburger chain to open in Japan, with the first restaurant opening in February 1970.

Picture related: DomDom's Whole Crab Burger. First released in October 2019, it became a huge hit due to its amazing appearance with a whole soft-shell crab, a luxury ingredient, sandwiched inside. In addition to the standard "Sweet Chili Sauce" flavor, this year we are introducing a new "Mild Curry Sauce" flavor! Crisply fried fragrant soft shell crab with plenty of mild curry sauce! The combination is excellent and this flavor is sure to be delicious! Notice: This is a limited time product and may end without notice depending on stock.

I love Shin-Okubo, wish they made the station and the surrounding streets larger because it gets crowded as fuck

Fuck walking to Ueno to get my dick sucked, I'm staying in Akiba and the walk there and back is effort

>>
>>2735058
Shin-Okubo also has a Muslim Alley
>>
>>2735058
Shin-Okubo was always Koreantown, with east asians.
What the fuck about Akiba. It hasn't been destroyed enough already?
>>
>>2735058
Shin-Okubo has been filled with Korean shops and businesses for a long time, it's a bit boring if you're not into stuff like skincare or beauty but there are some decent restaurants as well. The part that kind of messes it up for me is how at night the small streets get filled with touts and prostitutes. I've never been approached by Chinese women offering sex or massages as much as over there.

Why would you go to the "-town" in a city when you're traveling instead of just going to the actual country, especially when it's so close like Korea to Japan?

Couldn't you just do the Jeju ferry for a day trip to the actual country instead?
>>
>>2735083
It's probably easier to take a train for two stations than a plane or even ferry to another country if someone wants some good bbq

Btw, Jeju is a really cool place but it is far from a good representation of anything Korean. The language they speak is barely mutually intelligible with standard Korean, the culture is also quite different, etc.
It's nice for hiking when it's warmer
>>
>>2735086
Jeju and Okinawa are like Caribbean countries but the roads are paved and you're less likely to be robbed

where in tokyo can a guy play some sf3: 3rd strike? i know i can play sf6 in akihabara, but i wanna play 3s with some jp players in person
>>
>>2735092
>where in tokyo can a guy play some sf3: 3rd strike?
isn't it ported to phones yet lol
>>
>>2735099
nah, it's pretty much stuck on fightcade at the moment, and the 30th anniversary collection, but that's not too good of a port
>>
>>2735101
desu you should just have fun arcade hopping and if you find 3rd strike that's a bonus
>>
>>2735103
i didn't have much time during my last trip, so i really only got to go to one in akihabara, but this upcoming trip i'll have more time to myself so i definitely want to find at least one
>>
>>2735065
No, it's newly become Koreatown. Only recently have Koreans becoming trending in Japanese culture. It used to be South Asian town. There are many South Asians there
>>
>>2735105
it's not like 3rd strike is super obscure i doubt you have to seek it out too hard
>>
>>2735108
i hope not. i know it's stupid, but playing 3s in person with people's one of my favorite things to do, so to do it in japan is definitely a big goal

There are "don't follow touts" signs in Akihabara. I don't know why though, touts are legal as long as they follow certain rules.
>>2734832
All maid cafes in Akihabara are fine. There are female targeted men's cafes in Kabukicho where teenage girls spend hundreds of thousands of yen, basically a host club for children. I think it's rare for a male targeted maid cafe to do anything like that.

was thinking of going from nagasaki to hiroshima then back to tokyo over a week, but if i just go back to tokyo, saves 6k yen. So i thought ill stay in fukuoka, have to change there anyway. All the damned hotels are twice as much as hiroshima. I want to make that last week count but idk where else to go. Just want to go back to tokyo and spend a week with Japanese milf i know

I did go to Japan for Omutsu correct. Already managed to get a girl into an ABU diaper so why not go further?

My job basically makes me unable to travel in the fall
What parts of the country has fall-like weather the longest? Is it just go to the south of Kyushu if you want fall weather in January or are there regions where the climate is quirky.

That's adorable. Can't believe that turned into a fuck. Amazing

As a guy with a puffy jacket fetish how far north should I daytrip from Tokyo in February for snow and probably higher chances of chatting up a girl wearing one?
>>
>>2735149
Helped that she was adorable too. If I can get her for another day I feel like she'd be the perfect AB girl but I'm dreaming at that point. Id kill to have a girl happily indulge in it.

Guys my first time in Japan...
Should I stay in Ginza, Shinjuku, or Shibuya? All seem pretty good for metro connectivity.
>>
>>2735156
if you find a good deal, that's fine I guess but as long as you're in Tokyo you'll get around fine. I wouldn't spend extra to be in any of those places unless you really want to hang out there all the time for some reason. Get a place further out and you'll save like half price of a typical place in Shibuya.
>>
>>2735153

I recommend staying at a hotel near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, a subway station located in Minato, Tokyo, Japan, because it is central to most of Tokyo's tourist spots. For example, Hie Shrine is a 4 minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station and Roppongi is a 28 minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station.

do you guys bother with rail passes?
I'm going for a few months in the summer and anoter anon was talking about Toyosato and I love K-On so I'm definitely going to go see that.
part of me wants to go all out and go adventure around for 7 days with a pass but I can also spend about half as much and just do Fuji for a day and then go see Toyosato by buying tickets at the station instead.

The whole article is just yapping, nobody is forcing you to buy the expensive champagne.
2000 yen drinks aren't that expensive and are pretty much the norm.
There really aren't any rip-off maid cafes targeting men, it's just a sensationalist myth.

Not for me. The city has been destroyed during WW2, so nothing really worthwhile besides ōhori koen and a few temples. Canal City is nice but that's it. Lalaport makes you want to kill all the chinks you meet. Tenjin is okayish. The port is nice and the sumo tournament was great, but that's it. I regret not going to Kumamoto where it had far more my type of things.
The women look like the AliExpress version of korean girls, never saw that much biatches in a few days in Japan, and the men are either ugly or look even more like women than in the rest of Japan. Food was nice, but I had better in Kumamoto and Oita.
