New affordable housing spotted. Aran is really cementing itself as one of the best poorfag destinations in Thailand. This is less than $60/month at the current exchange rate. All of these are decent & respectable places too, nothing like the horrid ghetto flophouses of America. Twice-daily train to Bangkok takes 5 hours, and there are plenty of buses to Pattaya as well.
It really is enjoyable to smoke some 50 baht / gram vintage schwag. Remember how weed used to be so euphoric and dreamy in the old days? You could put on some mellow tunes and watch the kitties play as the day fades, pour yourself a cold beer and everything is all right. Thankfully these "low-value" strains still exist in arcane corners of the weed universe, they haven't all been purged from the market by 29% THC Orange Diesel Chem Psycho mutant strains, which fuck up your mind and get you hooked.

There's an Uzbek restaurant that was playing Uzbek music videos. It actually seemed weird. This entire area. I'm around men. There's a masculinity feeling that doesn't come with Thai places in general. It feels weird being around men or young guys with beards. Just got back from a couple weeks in Bangkok and Samui on business.Visiting and exploring Bangkok was an interesting experience but Ko Samui is where I could definitely see myself spending more time, particularly since I have friends/colleagues living there. Less pollution and congestion, nicer weather, great food, scenery, purportedly safer, etc.Pretty easy to get around despite not knowing Thai but I feel like the experience would be richer and more respectful to the locals if I learned it.Kinda regret that the beef is generally trash in Thailand since it's most of my diet in the USA, but the other food mostly makes up for it.The travel to/from was alright however long, but the TSA checkpoint was easily the worst part about the return trip.Still want to visit Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Udon Thani some day.
