Sex with Japanese women.
Those massage parlours around Namba advertising full body massage, 30mins for ¥2500, what's the catch? They go through your wallet when you're not looking? They all aged 50+?Also what's with all the maids around Den Den town? Some of them look really young, like I had to do a double take on a few of them. I'm white so they ignore me anyway.
>>2819041whats stopping you from just going there with cash in your pocket for the service?
whats the japanese word for all the lads standing outside bars and izekayas with the “aprons” around their wastes? so fun saying shit to them to make them laugh as i walk by but wish i knew more
>>2819052what do you say to them?everyone just ignores them
>>2819055Konbanwa, sugoi, kakkoii desu! while pointing and smiling but not in a dickish way
do japs actually work much longer hours than Americans? here in America most of us work 2 jobs or at least a side hustle onto of a main job>>2819041you have a 50% chance of being shaken down for more money after the girl yanked you rapidly for 15 seconds to get you out of there.also the denden girls locked eyes with me so idk what happened with you. you're not under 6ft 2 are you?

I fly out to Haneda tomorrow morning, super excited.5 nights Tokyo3 Kyoto4 Osaka3 Tokyo then back homeAbsolutely zero concrete plans other than accommodation, just going to explore
>>2819069man I hate this dude

>>2819083nah it should be great.A wank everyday will help too
>>2819086That won't help. All of those places are just grey. No parks. Just concrete. You might as well just save yourself some money, visit a rock quarry nearby your house.
---WARNING----If you are a foreigner, Japanese women will genuinely find you creepy if you are under 6ft 3 (195cm for all my third worldies here). I've lived in Tokyo for 8 years and Osaka for 2, and this has always been the case when I asked colleagues and friends about their situation for dating Japanese women.
>>2819033Japan sisters, i don't feel so good.
>>2819088sure thing sangdeepwhy would you want to date a jap lmao
Anyone want to give us a Hakkaido/Sapporo/Hakodate report and advice? My plan is to take Shinkansen and/or other trains north, stopping in some towns along the way and maybe buying or renting a bicycle in Sapporo to tour around up there for a bit
Anyone got any recommended tour groups for next summer? Never traveled without family and a non-English country seems like a bad idea for a autist to go solo with little planning. Am Yakuza boy so have to stop by Kabukicho and Dotenbori for obligatory I'm in Yakuza pictures.
>>2819033Why is America not doing well with safe cities? Japan is doing pretty well except for that atheist who shot Abe

>>2819161So basically its the fault of liberals for normalizing transfreaks? But also we've been having issues with Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, and blacks in our cities for decades now.

>>2819142Back in 2017 I took a tour with JapanDeluxeTours. It was very reasonably priced and while it was only 10 days (8 days excluding flights), we saw a LOT in a short amount of time. You pay a flat fee and they handle airfare, hotels, most meals, etc. I would recommend going longer than I did.The one downside was that we didn't have a lot of time to explore on our own. When we would stop by places like Akihabara, we only had about an hour to explore before we had to return to the bus. Uber didn't really exist in Japan back then, so even though we had evenings to ourselves, we felt landlocked to our Hotel and couldn't go back to explore places we wanted more time with. Nowadays with GO Taxi and Uber, that probably won't be a problem.I have no idea what Japan Deluxe Tours' reputation is like now, but I had a good experience. It was a pretty comfortable experience for me as someone who hadn't traveled without family before.
>>2819190sarr please sar

>>2819206Which south east Asian country? Japs pretty much never wear sunglasses so you can’t be talking about them
>>281919110 is probably what I'm stuck with since only two weeks off a year plus travel time and sleep adjustments to be back for work. InsideJapan is the one my first look recommends but passing it around to travel people before I commit.
>>2819211yeah anon youre right. no japanese women wear sunglasses everretard
a couple of threads ago, i asked for recommendations on movies about japan but made by foreigners. someone mentioned Tokyo-Ga (1985) by wim wenders. it was very good, made me want to rewatch some ozu films. it also reminded me of the show How to with John Wilson, but slower paced and more meaningful. someone else mentioned Walk, Don't Run (1966) and that was enjoyable too. both movies had great shots of an older tokyo. i still have My Geisha and You Only Live Twice on my list of things to watch. thank you anons for the recs. give more if you can.
>>2819264japs hardly wear sunglasses, this is both easy to notice in person>>2819281I enjoyed memoir of a geisha a lot, so I recommend it. It's a more modern Hollywood movie with some white peepo pretending to be Japanese but its a pretty good movie imo
What are some cool horror themed things to do in October guys? tours haunted houses etc.
>>2819311Universal studio in osaka has a very cool Halloween themed event across the whole park. Actually accidentally got caught up in it with a friend last year. One main thing they were doing was having employees pretending to be zombies to wander the whole park and scare people, and then enforcers with glowy guns going around to put a stop to them putting on a show. It was fun
>>2819211>>2819288Chinese tourists wear sunglasses, too. And they wear primary-colored clothes. The men have their heads cropped in a unique way, and the women wear super mini-skirts, like Japanese high school girls in the old days, tight shirts and tank tops. They are clearly different from the Japanese, so it is easy to distinguish them from the Japanese. And their language, which is loud and echoes in your head, is easily recognizable as Chinese, even if you don't understand Chinese.
>>2819069Wouldn't say no to this handsome lad
>>2819088Why should I care?
How would you guys rate the five NON big 3 cities of japan.Sapporo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Chiba
>>2819355as per that order.
>>2819355tl;dr they're all mid and you should only go if you have a specific reason for going or if you want to be the Cool Real Traveler(tm) and act smug around the Normie Fake Traveler because you visited what remains(4 medium sized rocks) of an old castle in bumfucknowhere where Date Masamune used to masturbate every summer solstice behind the east gate at exactly 15:36 and cum at exactly 15:42.Solid 2/5 across the board, 3 if there's something in the city that you really want to see.Fukuoka was the only standout because of the food stalls which made it unique. You won't feel a big difference as let's say going from Boston to San Diego.I can't comment on Sapporo because I've never been there but I will be spending a month there this coming winter season. My take as a jaded resident who has spent around a week in each of those cities is that they're all the same and equally mid. You would need very specific reasons for visiting any of those places, and a lot of those reasons overlap such as. temples/shrines/castles.However, if by city you mean the downtown area excluding the surrounding or nearby places, then the differences further narrow down, if you were dropped in the middle of any of these cities during summer you would be none the wiser. They all look and feel the same.Infrastructure is the same, though I imagine Sapporo will be slightly different due to snow, similar to north/north west Tohoku where houses/buildings usually have a roofed parking area and entrances usually have a "玄関フード" to deal with snow/the cold.Food is the same. Raw fish and salty noodle soup but with [this town's main produce].There are very subtle differences which you would not notice unless you've been in all of those places long enough, for example Obon in the far north of Tohoku is more traditional - every single house had a gigantic lantern lit up at their entrance. You barely see this in Kanto, you wouldn't think that this is specific to certain areas unless you knew.
>>2819384I'm going to be staying in Fukuoka for a few months. Any recs?
>>2819387If my first post wasn't obvious enough, I am not the type of person who is fond of cities. I can only tell you that the food stalls were nice and you can't go wrong with any of them. My anecdote is that 2 local ladies insisted on Tenjin because apparently it was better than the other food stall areas.Beyond the city, make sure you have your international driver's license and get used to bathing naked with other men(or if you're lucky, other women wink wink). The jagged, mountainous and volcanic terrain of Kyushu made for the best hikes I've done in Japan. Start with Aso because it's accessible (but touristy for that reason) and has a lot of easy hikes surrounding it.Go out and explore all of Kyushu given that you have a few months, if that region had consistent snow and larger ski resorts then it will take the number one spot in my "places to live in Japan" list.
>>2819281The author of the manga "Obake no Q-taro" was a movie fan and incorporated Yasujiro Ozu's camera work into his manga. The creators of the animated cartoon version also incorporated the original author's ideas into the anime. This technique has been carried over to the current "Doraemon" and has become a royal road of home anime for children.
>>2819281Perfect Days
>>2819355Nagoya fucking SUCKS.dont go there, ever
>>2819355>SapporoActually very different place with different ideas and people. The food is different, the metroes use tires, the city is very much a mini Tokyo or Osaka. You have mount Fuji in mount Yotei, you have Hakone with Lake Shikotsu, Lake Tooya isn't too far, Noboribetsu is Izu. Probably the best out of the ones listed it has an actual indentity, soul, different products on store shelves, stuff like Seicomarkt and a different cuisine. Most worth visiting if you've been to all the Standard Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. >NagoyaIt god damn honestly lives up to the stereotype of being boring as fuck. Mass Transit is fucking ass, even compared to Sapporo and Fukuoka. It's a car city that has no central interesting places except for Osu if you're a weeb. You can basically go to the Maglev Museum, Legoland, Science Museum, Car Museums, Castle and Zoo. Nagoya would be amazing if all the shops, places and services coudn't be found in much better cities. It's a good city to live in if you like Cars. The problem is it's sprawling and the places cose to it are far away for tourists. Like Shizoka and Hammatsu both offer much better nature near them compared to Nagoya where you need to go to Gifu to get good nature or the other side of Ise Bay>FukuokaLike Sapporo it has an identity, unique foods, really good, it has specific places like Nakasu Island that are full of stuff. It has really good places near to it and if you get a Kyushu Pass every big attraction is like 2 hours max by Shinkansen or Rapid trains. Much better then Nagoya>HiroshimaThere is quire literally nothing here but the Atom bomb, Trams and Museums. When it comes to tourism honestly it's a 2~3 days destination and you're done. I wouldn't know what to do here for a week.>Chiba?Thats Tokyo just like Yokohama is Tokyo and Saitama is Tokyo. You basically have Makuhari and Funabashi big shoping and event evenues and the rest is urban sprawl. You can visit small temples and shrines around Chiba
>>2819387Oh I got a lot to recommend. There a gigantic mega mall in the center of the city called Canal City Hakata. Get used to Hakata as that was the old name for Fukuoka. You'll see it a lot.Anyways inside of it there is Ramen Stadium, it is by far hands down the best Ramen place if you like Hakkata style ramen so thick broth. https://canalcity.co.jp/ra_sta/Now not sure when you're going but Ramen Stadium will be closed for the time being as of August 31, 2025. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our customers for their patronage. We will reopen in the spring of 2026.Another good mall is the LaLa Port Fukuoka but it's shit to get to you'll need a bus It has a Gundam just like in Tokyo but this time it's the RX-93 v Gundam from Chars Counter Attack it's also by far the biggest at 25 meters. If you like to party, drink and stuff there the Nakasu Island next to the Canal City Mall there tons of small places. But more importantly it has one of the last remaining legal street food old style vendors in Japan it's called Nakasu Food Stalls StreetOhori Park is a really cool lake part really good for taking pictures, you also have the Ruins of the castle nearby the whole area is a nice walk. The Aburayama Katae Observation Deck is fantastic at night to see the city.If you like a bit of a walk uphill there the Ono Fortress Ruins and there tons of observation posts along the way to see the city.If you'd like a very close and personal view of planes landing Fukuoka has an airport in the middle of the city so you can just go to Shimotsukiguma 1 Go Ryokuchi Park and see planes land overhead. It's kind of like the Itami airport one if you've ever been there.Fukuoka Tower is nice to visit and there museums and shops on the way there. You can also go to Nokoshima Island from thats really close. And if you played Ghost of Tsushima, thats also the place to go to Tsushima and the DLC Ikki island.
>>2819446As for Restaurants in Ramen Stadium. In the Ramen Stadium I highly recommend Jinanbo Ramen(らーめん二男坊)Outside of it you have a lot of options Hakata is famous for Ramen but you'll also find a lot of good Korean and Chinese.博多一双 - Is famous on TV and is pretty good taste wise it's also in the Staiton. Super easy and cheap.https://tabelog.com/en/fukuoka/A4001/A400101/40032701/For sushi 鮨 さかい Sushi Sakai (EXPENSIVE AS FUCK)https://tabelog.com/en/fukuoka/A4001/A400103/40034544/Chinese Ramen + Dumplings : https://tabelog.com/en/fukuoka/A4001/A400104/40053122/But generally the entire Tenjin area is full of good food places. Or should I say from Hakkata station walking westwards to the Nagahama Fish Market where all the Sushi places are.Oh yeah Unagi 4 daime Kikugawa Haruyoshi BranchThere are really good for Eel at an affordable price but it's often full.
too many strong zeroes last night….

A cute OL sat next to me on the metro today. I was going to ask her name but she was wearing earbuds, so I just tipped my hat to her in silent appreciation instead. I think she respected me for that.

>>2819520> Especially near Dogo OnsenDogo Onsen is a tourist trap—filled with chinks and nowhere near as grand as the pictures would have you believe. Most of the decent bars and izakaya are in the main part of town.

>>2819394Any tips on renting a car?
>>2819707Times Car Share. Book online, abundant options, flexible pickup/drop off locations. They also don't seem to give too much of a shit about damages to their cars. Ex managed to ding one once and never got a call or get charged for it, your milage may vary.
>>2819711tl;dr they're the most convenient option by a mile despite slightly higher prices, they often do campaigns so keep an eye out on that before booking. You also don't need to talk to or interact with anyone. Go to the pickup area then unlock the car with the app. Once you're done just leave the car at your drop off area and again lock using the app.Pickup/dropoff points are just random parking lots, no need to go through a store.Comparing their prices to another company, Orix, then it's really not that bad given that you don't have to read/write and communicate in Japanese plus you have more pickup/dropoff options.Get used to translating shit on your phone.Given that you'll be here for several months(?), I assume you'll be getting a resident card? This might be the only hiccup when renting.Failing that, they have an English website made for tourists and the process is more or less the same as Hertz or any other car rental shops.
>>2819281The Last Samurai is nice, though it overexaggerates the technological backwardness of samurai - in reality they used arquebuses for centuries, dating back to the 1500s. meanwhile in movie they only use bow and arrow for long distance combat >>2819422> Nagoya sucksi don't know some art hoe at kyoto hostel went there for Obon and said a grandma took her into her house to drink spirits and she had a blast
>Travel insurance: Better safe than sorryAre you all actually getting travel insurance? Ill be leaving in like 2 days and wasnt planning on it.
Are apa hotels not a good option? I had booked those for kyoto, osaka, and the last 2 nights in tokyo before leaving but a nicer hotel when I first arrive in tokyo. They looked decent enough and the price / location seemed decent too but I see so many people (redditors) saying how shit they are but it seems like thats mostly just because muh racist ceo
>>2819742I forget what I used but the travel insurance I got but it was cheap as fuck, like $15 a week or something. it is well worth it to get it just for peace of mind
>women's face when I bring them to my place and I'm staying in some 200sq ft hotel or airbnbfuck this godforsaken country and their midget-sized housing, especially in tokyo.if you stay here more long-term, you have the option of living in a good location but in a studio the size of my college dorm room, or in a good sized apartment but an hour away from anywhere
>>2819711>>2819725I thought it's cheaper to use the proper Times rental from a shop, unless you need a car for like 2 hours only
>>2819779I didn't say cheapest, I said it's the most convenient. That being said, the price difference is negligible.330 * 4 * 6h 7,920 on the app7,700 in storeIf the in store option is anything like Hertz, then I'd wager the store might end up being more expensive as they try to get you to pay for other bullshit. Ultimately, as a foreigner who can't speak a lick of moonspeak, you're better off fiddling your phone and reserve a car a few days before you need it as opposed to fumbling your way in a store where they might not even have cars available.

>>2819746APA hotels are primarily buisness hotels for 1 night stays by salarymen. You will get 1 really good room with clean sheets and very little space. If you like that they're 10 out 10.
