I can kind of understand them, but they didnt pull it off well. It reminds me when I was in highschool creative writing class and we had to write a short story. I wrote one from the perspective of the villain who opens with killing some children for pocket change, abandoning his family for lust and greed, who gets decieved by a witch and lured into a trap by a giant, where he dies. But many who actually read it sympathized with him, including the female teacher, probably half the class didnt read it, and only a few guys kinda got it.

It wasnt great but I understand the frustration because to these leftists, they try to paint homelander as a charicature of evil and racist (the worst evil in their minds). But they're unaware or braindead that aspects of him may still be appealing or certain actions considered morally justified given his circumstances.
